La Fea Más Bella #297A 6/19/07 Love and doubt have never been on speaking terms.
At a church that is not the cathedral in Monterrey, the wedding guests await the arrival of the bride and the bride. Oops, I meant groom. Sometimes Aldo’s Farrah hair looks a little feminine to me. Luigi films all the guests, even the cuartel. Aldo is the first to arrive in a white Mercedes. Alicia and Tomas are the first to greet him. Tomas thinks it was a good idea for Aldo to follow Tomas’ lead. He says that Lety and Aldo will be very happy together. Aldo agrees. Aldo looks around the crowd and asks for Fernando. Tomas assures Aldo that Fernando will not show up, considering that the love of his life is marrying someone else. Tomas thinks that Aldo should forget about Fernando, but Aldo is still thankful for Fernando coming to Acapulco. Aldo and his father leave the group to greet the other guests.
The Monterrey Cathedral
Lety arrives next in a carriage drawn by two white horses. Everyone appears to think she looks lovely; they applaud her arrival. Lety doesn’t want Aldo to see her without her veil, so she has her father quickly draw it over her face. Julieta walks over to Aldo and greets him.
The wedding party enters the church and proceeds toward the altar. Aldo escorts Julieta and Erasmo takes Lety. The wedding ceremony begins with the bride and groom kneeling before the priest.
Fernando wanders around a park thinking to himself that it’s the time of the wedding. Lety’s about to become Lety Domensain. He thinks to himself that he lost her and will never have her near him again. He says that even his soul hurts, but he has to accept this.
The “I do” part of the wedding starts. Aldo says his “I do” but before Lety is able to accept, Fernando rushes into the chapel. Everyone looks shocked at Fernando’s desperation. He begs Lety to marry him. Finally, Fernando grows some cajones and confronts Aldo. F – “You know perfectly well that Lety has to marry me, Aldo.” He turns to Lety and begs her to marry him because she loves him. They lived through so much together. Omar, Tomas and two mystery men pull him down the aisle. Fernando again shouts to Aldo that he “knows it perfectly well” and that he loves Lety.
Aldo kneels and asks Lety if she’s okay. Lety tells Aldo that she’s okay and that she loves him. Meanwhile, an entire TV audience holds its breath and thinks to itself, “No, you don’t! Don’t realize it too late!” The priest continues the ceremony.
The men toss Fernando outside. Tomas tells Fernando to leave Lety in peace; Omar has to calm a furious Tomas. Fernando says he says there is no quarrel and seats himself in the carriage and tells the men not to worry.
Lety finally says her “I do” and is declared the wife of Aldo. Outside, Fernando hears the music and rushes into the church. Aldo and Lety lean in for a kiss. Fernando comes tearing up the aisle screaming out “No!” He falls to his knees and is again dragged out of the church. Aldo tells Lety that this is sad for Fernando. They tell each other that they love one another and kiss again. Everyone applauds, except for Lety who pulls away and excitedly repeats the word “no” three times.
Lety wakes up from her dream and asks for Aldo. She realizes that it was just a dream, but she doesn’t know why she dreamed about that.
Luigi escorts his parents out of the hospital. He tells them that he misses them and every time he does a commercial, they are his inspiration. Luigi’s happy that they have a new opportunity to be together. His mother and father promise not to be separated from him again. Luigi puts their luggage in a pink convertible. His father asks if that’s really Luigi’s car. It’s just like he wanted. Luigi says that’s why he bought it, but fixed it up in his style. Luigi says he doesn’t know how to drive. His new boyfriend Esteban drives. Luigi calls over Esteban and presents him to his parents. Luigi’s father is the first to greet Esteban. Esteban graciously says that Luigi talks about them all the time and that he is very proud of his father. Luigi’s mother gives Esteban a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Luigi thanks his parents for accepting him as he is; it’s liberated him. He will now accept others as they are. More hugs!
In the office, Lety doesn’t want to tell Fernando about her dream from the night before. Fernando points out that there’s currently a nightmare about someone stealing $1 million dollars. Lety says that she realizes her dream is such a silly thing in the face of their current problems. Fernando says that nothing Lety has is a silly thing. He asks her to tell him the dream. She doesn’t hesitate anymore and begins her story. Once she gets to the part where Fernando interrupts the wedding he spooks a little and tells her to keep the intimate details to herself. Lety asks if this means that it really was horrifying. Fernando doesn’t answer and just looks at Lety. She wants to know why. He replies that he doesn’t know much about these things but he watched Jaime Mausan’s program and it says that dreams reflect one’s desires. Lety wants to now what he’s saying, but he evades the question. They debate the credentials of Jaime Mausan.
Aldo confronts Carmina. He wants to know why she said she was going to Acapulco to live with him. Carmina explains that she took advantage of an opportunity to have him to herself. His phone rings. It’s somebody confirming wedding details. Carmina looks like she’s about to cry. She leaves the room without saying good-bye.
Alicia enters the passport office and goes straight to the counter, despite the long line. She asks the attendant where to go to renew her passport. The lady tells Alicia that she must go to the line. Alicia says that she she’s in a hurry. Why doesn’t the woman tell the manager next to her to attend to Alicia. The woman replies that he’s not a manager, he’s a director and that Alicia needs to get in line. Alicia bitches the entire way to the back. She has to show the man at the end of the line proof that she’s pregnant. She uses this as an excuse to get to the front of the line again. This ploy seems to work, the director peeks at her passport.
Lety wants Fernando to quit. He says that she needs to accept that she has doubts. He asks her how she’s going to tell Aldo. Lety can’t believe that Fernando thinks that she should tell Aldo. He says that she really should. He gets in her ear and breathily tells her to think about it because to marry with doubts is well…she should think about it. Lety shivers and watches him walk away.

The wedding was so sad, I couldn't help but cry at poor Fernando.
Gee, weddings are suppose to make us feel happy. This one was depressing. Thank goodness it was a dream!
Alicia was quite the hot mama at the wedding. Her dress was more revealing than usual I thought!
What happened to Ruili? Did Luigi give any explanation?
I can't keep up with the warp speed of La Fea!
I'm definitely not ready for a real Lety/Aldo wedding!!!!!!!!!!!
Carrie L.
I'm not liking how everything is wrapping up so quickly, BUT the reconciliation between Lety and Fernando.
I want Fernando to whisper in my ear like he did Lety's. How romantic!! Oh heck, I'd just want Fernando close to me!! I am so going to miss these characters.
Still going through the grieving process----the end is near :-(
I don’t want Fern to be with her if she is that repressed. He is now too emotionally evolved for her. I am just watching this for Jaime’s looks and acting. (Well, been feeling that way for quite a few months.) He acted quite grief-stricken in this dream sequence. I found it hard to watch. It’s been a long time since I watched a soap and this is my first telenovela, so I guess I was not prepared for such melodrama.
Teresa
I can't remember the last time a show grabbed hold of me so hard. I was holding back the tears as Fernando screamed, "NO!"
I know it's mixed reaction, but I think this was a great episode, if only because of the way it emotionally gripped you!
Of course, this is only reinforces my belief that Lety will marry Fernando. We've already seen Lety and Aldo's wedding (albeit a dream, and why repeat yet another wedding), so now we have to see Lety and Fernando's wedding (hopefully real!).
-R-
Even Aldo looked kind of handsome.
But of course Fernando looked so much better. I am glad that the wedding scene was just a dream because I don't think that Fernando should have to suffer any longer. I felt so bad for him. I know that we all were suffering with him.
These half-hour shows are killing me. Thanks Amanda for the lightning fast recap.
“Meanwhile, an entire TV audience holds its breath and thinks to itself, “No, you don’t! Don’t realize it too late!”” Absolutely right. I was screaming with the rest. That wedding gave me knots in my stomach.
The priest was another crossover from Duelo, the prosecutor, Vargas. Is there anyone who hasn’t done double duty from Duelo yet (except the really well-known characters)?
I breathed a sigh of relief when she woke up (doesn’t she look cute in her Moty sweat jammies with her make-up and new hair)? The re-telling of the dream to Fern was amusing, too.
The scene with Luigi and his folks was terrific. I actually liked Luigi much more after this.
Jeanne
Does anyone know what is going to replace Duele er I mean Duelo?
Also, would it be Leticia Domeinsane? I thought the Mexican women didnt take the man's name
i am so confused who is octavio? and wasn't marcia a villian? why does she get a galan... she should end up with the guy with the bald head
I loved the drama of Fernando running into the church only to be dragged out and his running back in again. I almost cried when he realized it was too late and I laughed my head off with relief when Lety woke up.
I'm going to miss this show. I hope this wonderful production team gets together again and does a sequel or even a remake from another classic novela like "Xica da Silva" or a soap like "Dark Shadows".
Does anyone know if this show has won any awards?
Did anyone else catch when Lety said that she didn't want to tell Fernando about her dream because she's afraid it WON'T come true?
Afraid she won't marry Aldo? Or afraid Fernando won't try to stop her?
Maybe that was Lety's freudian slip...
-Romeo-
I am positively convinced that no one in this novela is going to get any kind of cumuppance. WTF with Aldo and Stalker Chick, that's the worst that happens? Aldo-Que the hell? SC-I couldn't help it, I took advantage. Aldo, Ok, well nice chatting. Ciao... OMG, that had me yelling almost (but not quite) as much as the wedding. Guess this means Alicia's sorry buns aren't going to see any justice either. Bummer!
Just keep feeding me shots of Fernando and I'll try to pretend the rest doesn't exist. Ooooh, him in the park all teary eyed right before he ran into the church... come to Kimmi honey and let her make you feel all better!
Kim P.
I do have to say I was right there with the rest of you screaming at the screen during the "wedding" scene. The fact that it was a dream has to be the best kept secret on Youtube. Really makes me wonder how they're going to turn this around for the finale. I'm all for someone giving Lety a good slap upside the head to see if she won't FINALLY let the light of day seep into the iron-clad darkness of her denial. If she doesn't wise up by tomorrow, I say give her another good whack & put US out of OUR misery! I hate it when they cram all the conflict resolution into ONE final episode. Por el amor de Dios - spread it out a little & let us enjoy it for a while, no? At least we get a little extended happiness with Caro & Omar. I'm even getting interested in Tomas & Alicia again, since she just might turn human here pretty quick.
I agree; que the heck happened to Rulli? Looks like the producers thought we'd all forget that Manuel Landetta appeared previously in the show as one of the dancers in "Solo Para Mujeres" ("the only married one", as Sergio Mayer teased him at the time). Now he's Luigi's new boyfriend? Busy (and versatile) man.
Good for Marcia; I always knew they'd hook her up once she stopped acting like a test pilot in a broom factory. Pretty cheesy, though, how the new galan seems to suffer from "premature declaration"; he can't seem to subtly swing into the seduction, but rather ends up tripping all over himself in an effort to declare his love. Calmate, Romeo.
Can't get into "Juan", so when LFMB is over, I'll have to console myself with the occasional "Destilando" episode & whatever I can scrounge of Jaime. Looking for a copy of "I Love Miami" as the clips on Youtube look interesting. See you all at the finish line!
Damn with Lety it is all about her..isn't it?
Fernando isn't her maid of honor or best amiga...I can't imagine telling someone I dumped for someone else...Hey I had a crazy dream that you showed up at my wedding, made a total ass out of yourself and had to be carried out twice cause you couldn't live without me...So what do you think that means?
Well mostly that means you are a self centered ass. Gotta say, Fernando was a bit more discreet when he was supposed to jump the broom with Marcia...
The other part that bothered me about this dream was Erasmo...it was the truth what he said, I mean the way their relationship is...but it was a dream Erasmo never said that...
Sistah Val
Again, Melinama/ recappers thank you very much.
I personally am with Beckster - I'm loving Juan Querendon and if you want comedy it's worth a shot. Maybe the problem is that so much of the script is Juan's thoughtbubbles - and he speaks fast, very idiomatic Mexican Spanish (I've tried looking up a bunch of the words and they're not in my dictionary) - but he's really a great lead.

Jeanne
If you think that dress of Alicia was hot, possibly you missed Patty Navidad (Alicia) at the TV y Novelas award show..? She looked like a hooker from Bourbon Street..The woman has zero class.
First there was those incredibly sickening close-ups of Alicia. For some reason every time I see her on the TV screen I hear the sound of an auctioneer for a pig sale in the background...
Then there was that incredible wedding sequence and Lety's absolute refusal to respond to Fernando's pain. I kept saying to myself that this is a dream sequence, right? And then it was.
I speak about 10 words of Spanish and I watch the shows only because of my wife, who is of Mexican descent. This website has really helped me enjoy the shows without bugging my wife for translations. However, as the father of an 18-year-old girl, the scene with Jose Jose didn't need any translation at all. I felt his pain and totally understood his tears. I too have tried to shield my "lety" from the outside world and I know that one day I will have to let her be "a grown woman". I just hope I can do it with as much grace as he did!
Now if only someone would complete the sale and get Alicia off the show!
By the way, you can ignore the "correction" I posted yesterday about the finale being only 8 to 10 on Monday. That's technically true, but it looks like there might be some other La Fea thing on for a hour before that (instead of Duelo) and then the Christina show with the cast members afterwards. Making four a four-hour block of La Fea programming. But I'd feel more secure about that if Univision would say something.
I was going to delete the original post(s) as well, but since they have the corrected info/retraction in them, I'm not sure if that would cause more confusion, or less.
In any case, I don't want to make an idiot of myself a third time and confuse the issue any more, so I'm just going to shut up now. :)

Also, would it be Leticia Domeinsane? I thought the Mexican women didnt take the man's name
Well she would be Leticia Padilla Solis DE Domensain. DE meaning she is married to Domensain.
And to Romeo Did anyone else catch when Lety said that she didn't want to tell Fernando about her dream because she's afraid it WON'T come true?
I really don't know how to put this. But I am Mexican and my family always said that if you had a bad dream you tell someone about it in the morning and it will not come true. Something like that??? I relly don't quite remember, but that is why Lety said that to Fernny.
Aww love him!
**Neire**
Marie Celeste, that was so funny about Marcia being a "test pilot in a broom factory" in the past.
Thanks for the great recap, Amanda. Thank goodness this was a dream. I was so praying that it was but didn't really think so because of all the people involved away from the wedding, like Fernando, and the starting scene with Lety and her Dad. This let's us know how bad we would have felt if this show ended up with Lety and Aldo getting married. None of us would recover from that low blow.
Why oh why doesn't Lety get it that she and Fernando belong together? They have such great conversations and fun together. Plus there is so much chemistry that she has to boing apart from him anytime they're near. Lety and Fernando think alike and even behave in the same way. Watching them together last night was like watching one person, just one male and one female.
Thanks all you people who gave advice about watching other novellas. I've watched Destilando a couple of times now and am liking it so far. It doesn't have Jaime Camil, but then not every show can, and the lead is attractive. I need to have something to cling to in order to fill the void of La Fea ending and am happy that I'll have another novella that doesn't totally turn me off. Sorry Juan lovers, but I'm still hanging in there on that one and still not feeling it. I was following your advice to give Juan a chance and will probably continue this week since it's only 30 minutes and is scheduled between La Fea and Destilando.
After a couple of minutes into the wedding I had two ideas. First - What's wrong with those editors - from missing million straight to the wedding?! Then another idea came - may be it is a dream? But the first one won and I was crying seeing Fernando during this wedding. And equially I was mad at Lety for being stupid and getting on marrying Aldo. I was complaining to my dear hubby how wrong it is ( he doesn't watch the show) and was really upset.
And then - reality came. Good! But how Lety can be so stupid asking Fernando about meaning of the dream? I think Lety lost her wittiness, deep heart and became too ordinary by the end of the show. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see that it's not true, but I doubt it.
Alicia keeps amusing me - instead of fixing her bad deeds and go on with pregnancy with loving man she tries to complete her getaway with all means. She will probably ends up in jail and Tommy will be the one who get's her out for the sake of the baby and his love.
BTW, I also getting into Juan Q
Eve
So now it may be four hours? I'll have to get the dvd ready and make sure it has enough space.
I too was yelling NO,NO,NO during the wedding. My kids came running and even watched a little of the show with me.
No one can cry like Fernando. He breaks my heart and makes me cry right along with him.
I agree that we've had all these months of not much of anything, and then WHAM! super wrap up is thrown at us all at once!
I wonder what happened? Did someone just discover that, "Whoops, we're running out of time so lets cram everything into the last few episodes?" I don't think it was a wise choice!
Carrie L.
Weekend in Cuernavaca" episode. If you search the song "Aqui Estare" in Youtube, you should find several videos with that scene included since it's the soundtrack for that scene.
I can't find the episode in it's entirety, but several Youtube contributors have posted sections of it. Users "starrlett17" and "lunamc" (the latter's excerpts are portuguese versions) have some segments posted, but I can't find the specific scene where Lety explains to Fer that she wants him to be free before they resume a physical relationship. You could check www.lafeamasbellaonline.com.tk, but I think you have to register as a user to access their content, which I haven't done. If anyone else can help, let us know. Thanks.
I was also confused by the disappearance of Rulli. I thought they had reconciled.
For months, I've been hoping that Fernando Colunga would put in a cameo appearance as either Rulli or Marcia's admirer, but it looks like I've been DENIED!
Oh well. If that dream wedding wasn't upsetting enough to convince Lety to cancel her wedding with Aldo, then forget it. She's a lost cause! Pretty, but lost!
When Lety is talking to Fernando, she wants to tell him about the dream so that it won't come true.
I have to agree with Fern, it's a dream about what she wishes would happen, but which part? The part where she realizes she doesn't want to marry Aldo or the part where she's still got two hot guys falling all over her? See, I think maybe she's gotten a little too addicted to the drama and making up her mind and being with Fern would put an end to the it.
I yelled at my laptop when I first saw on youtube. Watching it again I still got mad at Lety. I want her to be with Don Fern but I dislike her sooo much.
I don't know how much more crying Fern I can take.
How sad is that? I feel no connection to or sympathy for Lety.
I don't possibly see how she can make me a fan again this close to the end.
Should she have some lightning bolt moment and realize she loves Fern, she will have A LOT of explaining to do. And unconditional loving Ferni better not shush her. The audience will need her to explain.
Teresa
As to Luigi WTF why have a new boyfriend. As far as I know we had never seen Ruili so why Esteban unless Ruili was a nickname. That was stupid.
Alicia, la vaca, still doesn't get it. Off to fly away again. Any sympathy I had for her Monday is GONE, GONE, GONE.
Don Fern, tan divino, but why make him look like an idiot rushing into the church. I guess it is just more of the drama that our air headed fea seems to enjoy. He is way too good for her but she still seems to be stringing him along using him as her confidant while whining about Farrah.
As for Carmina at least she is honest. She wanted Aldo, saw her chance and took a shot, just like Carloca did. Like them or not they are better examples then Lety who just waits for everyone to tell her how to think, and what to do. No man on earth deserves to saddled with an emotionally immature mess like O'Campo turned her into.
Will Alicia never stop? Is there no end to her greediness? Tomas loves her so much, I hate to see his reaction when he realizes it was her who took the money. We don't give Tomas enough Kudos for playing the nerdy part, but he's very talented as well.
I'm sure it will be dragged out to the point of stupidity but anything is an improvement over these half hour shots that go by in the blink of an eye and leave you frustrated.
I had a lot of superficial moments last night trying to avoid thinking the wedding was for real. Alicia's dress was a bit too revealing for a wedding, the mother of the bride wearing black, was that an omen, and then Carmina's little work dress cut to the navel and showing off her lack of goods but at least she doesn't whine about being professional like a certain Duelo character.
I've heard the Duelo replacement is Amor Sin Limites. Another over the top drama with two hunky galans Valentino Lamus and Rene Strickler. Unfortunately VL isn't much of an actor but he does look good, Rene is a good actor but is crossing over on this and being the villain.
Johanna
I googled the other guy too, Rene Strickler, and he was ok but I would have passed over him channel surfing (Jaime Camil made me stop dead in my channel-surfing tracks). Cute, but being blonde and blue-eyed myself, I'm not so much into in the guys. I like 'em dark haired and dark eyed. Yum!
I'm so glad to have something to watch, I've been trying so hard to get into Juan and just can't, and I'm sticking with Destilando but can't really say it's a fav. We'll see what happens with Amar Sin Limites.
Kim P.
...I was hoping Lety would elbow Aldo aside and grab Fernando with a “Later dude, I’m marrying this one. See at you at Sabor de la Vida sometime.”
-Romeo-
I want to read more about Lety when she was a sweet, shy girl instead of the mixed up cluck she is now.
Here's the link to the intro. Please note that for the first few episodes you have to go "earlier", then come back to this page to continue on with "later".
I've read these several times and I have to be honest and say I'm not a fan of Lety's. I'm hoping if I can see the shows, instead of just reading the recaps, I'll like her more, but to me she's always been whiney and childish and insecure, based on what I've read. All she ever does is bi**h and moan: How can he like her she's so ugly. We can't do this we're hurting Marcia (then she does it anyway). I hate to fly. I can't leave my parents. Wah wah wah.
I'm hoping actually seeing the shows will make her out to be much better. That's just my humble opinion though, others may read the recaps and really like her...
Kim P.
What a man. Damn! I was longing to change places with Ms. Vale if only to have all of that deliciousness crying over me.
Paid Angelica Vale a bonus for kissing Juan's blistered lips.
and to think, she then kisses Jaime. Oh, the herpes could be rampant. However, that being said, I'd still kiss Mr. Camil, come what may.
I was at the market today and there
was this cardboard life size cut out of some race car driver. I was
wondering if Univision has a life size cut out of Jaime.I will pay any price. I could
use one for my Jaime Camil recovery,
to help during the withdrawl.
I am too damn grown to be crushing
on an actor. But, Damn I got hooked
and now it is sad seeing the show end. Some studio executive somewhere needs to
put Jaime back on the screen and keep him there at any cost.
Thank You to all of the recappers for making this non-spanish speaking girl days much more brighter. Many blessings to all of you all.

I don't know if I could say that it was easier to like Lety in those days, but at least it was easier to feel sorry for her. She was trying so hard, and everyone was being so cruel to her.
At least, we found out last night that the boda con Aldo was una pesadilla. Imagine trying to get through today, thinking Lety had really married him! I don't know if I could have gotten out of bed.
Parthenia -LOL - yes, a life size cardboard cut-out of Jaime would be fantastic!! I'm going to miss Fernando something fierce...
Jeez, when Fer whispered "Piensalo" in Lety's ear, (twice!) I swear shivers went down my spine.I had to rerun the scene SEVERAL times to make sure - yep.
Fanning myself now. ;)
All of you "bloggers" are so much fun; I will miss this.
http://ferro94.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
These are the same recaps that were posted here - you must might find it easier to read them all in one place. (When you're done with the ones on this page, hit the link for June 2006 on the sidebar to read the rest.)

P.S. I am so gonna miss everyone!!! Melinama and all you recappers, I'm hoping y'all will be dolls and recap the new one mentioned above. Love y'all!
Kim
When the dream sequence first started, I told my boyfriend that it was a dream. But, the longer it got, the more worried I became...We started betting (Alicia's) one million dollars about what would happen next...
I was wondering what happened to Rulli as well. I thought they got back together on the all-expense paid vacation courtsey of Pres Padilla and Conceptos. And we have meet Rulli several times. He was the buff guy with the big head that the cuartel was always fawning over, until they realized he's on the other team.
Loved Fern whispering in Lety's ear. And I think the life-size cardboard cutoff would be a hit. Great idea Anya! Funny how Lety can confess everything to Don Fern, but was shocked at the idea of telling su amor, Aldo! Not a good sign.

In the beginning it was easier to like her because she was kind and ernest but her constant petrified whining got on the nerves periodically. But since she came back from Acapulco she has been cold, snotty b**ch and totally self absorbed which made her unlikable on every level. Every time I hear her babbling on about "Mi Boda" I want to gag. Who would think she would end up as a mexican Bridezilla.
