Hi there, I am a huge Destilando Amor fan and I recently came across your website--I'm very impressed with how detailed and organized it is. However, I was wondering why you seem to have a sarcastic attitude yet put so much time into posting recaps. Is it a payed job? Do you truely enjoy watching the show?

Some people enjoy sarcasm. A lot. So much that we will devote many hours to it for free.

Julie, perfect answer!! Heh.

I hope we don't have to suffer through too many more of these "three-day weekends" from Destilando. I swear I'm gettin' the DT's.

I think Anon. didn't read Chris's quote about mocking, but of course it's not real hate.

Some of these novelas are so ridiculous that making fun of the characters and silly plot is half the fun. I don't remember how many times I have sat here and cackled to myself and nearly fallen off my chair!!!!

Thank you, recappers for doing this in your free time and doing it so well!!

Right on, Julie!!!!

There are other sites that take a more reverent tone in discussing our beloved telenovela characters -- but not this one! ;)

I love this novela It has become my "2nd Number One" tied with "Amor Real" and I, too, am impressed with the way you describe every episode in detail. I love it. You have such a good way of describing every little detail. Even to write down what your opinion is. I at first didn't realize what the word "thoughtbubble" was until I kept on reading it in other sentences. I started to laugh because it was soo obvious. Ha, Ha! And I don't mind the Sarcasam of how you describe the characters. I think it is very funny and enjoyable. Also i am so glad you enjoy doing this for free because you have people like me that watch it and still love to read the Caray! Caray! written ones.

Thanks again!

Dear Anon 9:27 AM and 2:51 PM, please don't tell Clarita!! =/;? )

--Frankly, melodrama in U.S. culture stopped being taken seriously as an artform about the turn of the 19th century or the early 20th, a bit before WWI, I believe, if not sooner. Even the writers of these things, themselves, take potshots at their own work through the dialogues of their characters. Twice I've heard Sergio Sendel's characters in different novelas say something about "more coincidences than a telenovela." In fact, I think, Cesar in Heridas de Amor said just that. Destilando's main heroine is constantly ranting against them to her mother.

Anyone who has seen my posts knows I am in awe of the artform as the Latins have developed it. However, a stern reverence is something I feel is best left for church or synagogue.

I like the banter between Clarita and Gavi that has run on about whether real life is like telenovelas or not. But the most funny episode was when Rod butchered the "Aye, Gaviota!" song. It was nice to hear someone not take that song so seriously, especially his character!

My Mexican friend, now living in New York, writes for a Mexican Magazine. He was invited to inteview the 'real Aaron Montalvo' at a Mexican celebration of the real top of the line Tequila that is not sold in Mexico but it is sold in the US.. My spanish is limited but the translation of the name is Blue Harvest.
The real 'Montalvo' actually lives in Pa.

Dear Anon 6:37 PM -- Hey! Nifty neato! If you can, would you have your Mexican writer friend give us the link to his magazine so some of us might read it? Thanks!

I wanted to say thank you because I was sad that I can't watch Destilando Amor because I work at night now so I was reading the recaps they are great thanks for keeping me up to date.

Hi I was wondering if there was a way to figure out the name of the episodes??

yes i am not ashamed to admit that I am a male and I truly love this show. I will get road rage just to simply make it home and watch this! Or I will park myself in front of anyone's window and watch my novela (some might find this strange or prohibited actions). Is there going to be a DVD out for the entire series once its over : (( ??? cheers!
