Acorralada #135 Thursday 7/265/07 The mystery man strikes

Today on Acorralada:

Larry rescues Silvia and Mariposa from the sewer. They are able to go to the bar and give another performance of their flamenco act.

Iggy and Camila worry about how they will support themselves without Eddy. Iggy says they might have to get jobs. Camila is horrified. She sputters that Eddy should have left them $50,000 to let them live out the year without worry.

Alejandro goes to see Emilio, who called him Max. Max reminds him that he's not Max. He then gets to sneak a visit with the baby. Emilio is the new ninero.

Diana gets home and the apt. is empty. The phone rings, and it's "Alejandro," calling to chat. It seems he is as predicted drawn to her. Before they can speak more than hello, Diana is grabbed by a masked man, who was hiding in the shadows. He brandishes a knife. She screams, and Max hears, so he knows something is up.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Roddy is introducing Bratty Girl to Miguelina and Lala, who are exceedingly dubious. He tells them that Fedora doesn't know yet, but he'll tell her as soon as she gets home.

They show Bratty to her room, Max's old room. She tries to order Lala around, but Roddy tells her to stop. As soon as she closes the door to the room, she smiles and starts jumping on the bed exultantly and playing loud music. This attracts the attention of our favorite villain, Kike, who comes in dressed only in a towel. As we all predicted, they start kissing immediately! Isn't that what always happens when strangers meet? They are interrupted by Gaby knocking on the door to say hello. Kike hides under the bed. Sharon is pissed off and mouths off to Gaby. Gaby notices the wet towel on the floor.

Kiki and Sharon resume the action only to be interrupted by Roddy. She tells him to go away.

Meanwhile, Emilio comes home and interrupts the attack. He is stabbed by the masked man, who runs away. Who is the masked man? We don't know. For once, the masked man was not unmasked by the victim.
Just then Alejandro comes in. How did he get there so fast? Anyway, he calls 911 (because of course Diana didn't), and they get Emilio to the hospital. They leave the baby with a neighbor, and they call Silvia and Camila and Fedora. Fedora rushes out before Roddy can tell her about Bratty.
After their fun between the sheets, Kike goes back to his room, where Gaby is waiting. She asks why he is walking around nude or in the towel. He concocts some story about swimming for two hours. She then puts her two brain cells together and remembers the wet towel in Bratty's room.

At the hospital, Camila is worried about her brother, but not worried enough to bury the
hatchet with her arch-rival Diana. She keeps trying to get her to leave.

Fedora shows up and two hours have passed. Funny, because Max got to Diana's apt. in 30 seconds, but Fedora took two hours to get to the hospital. She tries to stop Camila from fighting with Diana. Silvia also shows up with Jorge. Camila wants her to leave also. Telemiami's one detective interviews Alejandro and Diana. At least at looks like Emilio will survive. Thank goodness. I couldn't stand to have another good character killed off.

Finally, we see Diego and Iggy discussing the plot, and it appears that we are to think that Diego committed the stabbing. Here's where I am not sure. Can someone explain what Iggy and Diego were talking about. I'm still not sure whether they want to kill Diana or kill Max so Diego can get Diana back.

Thanks for the recap! =)

If I remember correctly, Iggy and Diego were talking about the Trio of Tackiness (Marfil, Fiona and Camila) and their plot to make Diana look bad in front of Alejandro. Then Iggy tells Diego that he almost ended up a widower and wonders if Diana has enemies besides "them". It's Diego's face that gives it away...that and the flashback sequence after he gets home and fondles his ski mask.

I loved when Bratty turned on the radio in "Max's old room" and the loud rock music came on - just what Max would have had it set to!!

I sure hope Emilio survives - for Caramelo if nothing else - she should be arriving from PR any second now.

Oh, and you know what else, Sharon + Kike =GROSS!!! I think there should be a contest for grossest couple. Right now they're neck and neck with Diego and Marfil. What kind of tramp is Sharon? She has no idea where Kike's been or what kind of skeevy diseases he's got. What if he'd turned out to be some blood relative of Rodrigo's? I mean, ick! Just, ick! This girl is terrible!

Okay, rant over :)

Not only is she gross, but of course, so is Kiki, with his scars, his bandana, and, I hate to say it, unattractive man-boobage. I'd rather look at David Zepeda's chest, and I already find him repulsive.

Okay, 5ft, I still don't understand the plot: Diego wants Diana back but he wants to kill her?

And the women just want to make her look bad?

Diego's gotten to the "if I can't have her, no one can" phase. I'm not sure when exactly that happened, but I think it had something to do with Fiona telling him that they were trying to keep Diana away from Alejandro. Somehow, the thought of Diana possibly ending up with Alejandro, whether he's really Max or not, was just too much for Diego to handle, I guess. He still can't seem to understand why Diana wouldn't want him now that Max is dead.

And, yes, the Trio of Tacky's big plan is to talk smack about Diana to Alejandro, both in general but also specifically to implicate her in the burning down of the manicomio, so that (whether he's Max or not) he won't want her. They also have the delusional idea that once they start spreading these rumors they can somehow get Diana arrested if the cops (after a year?) decide that the reason for the manicomio burning down was arson. To much tight clothing, it cuts off circulation to the brain!

Wow, I can't believe you understood all that. Now I remember that stuff about implicating her in the fire the other day. It's all so illogical that it goes in one ear and out the other.

It's the writers who have no circulation to the brain. I wouldn't be surprised if (a) 'Max' DOES believe the trumped up story about the fire - this will be a stretch since he overheard the guilty ones on the beach. He'd have to believe somehow that she's in cahoots with them.(b) Diana does get arrested again.

We'd be right back where we came in!
