One of our readers, Karen, found the trailer for the pirate novela online. It gave me chills! Looks to be a fabulous show. Here it is!

WoW!!!It seems a really expensive and good production.Carla Estrada isn't Scroodge like some other producers.Colunga,Rulli and William Levy!!!The screen is on fire.I can't say I like Susana's hair though. They seem too fake, and I don't think they knew Revlon back then.Anyway, happy watching everyone.

I hate those curls!! Otherwise I think it looks great.

I keep saying I need to quit the telenovelas and get a few hours back into my day. Then I see a trailer like this and I figure, no need to hurry, I can always quit later...

This looks pretty amazing! Some of you will be unfamiliar with one of the stars, but those few of us who have been suffering through Acorralada will recognize our own lovable Lunkhead, William Levy.

Fantastic!! Thanks so much for posting. Makes me want to go back down to Mexico so I don't miss the premiere; I can't wait until it starts here. Fernandoooooo, PIRATES!!!!!!

It looks fabulous. High production values and expense. Colunga looks like he's not the main galan though. And Susana's curls remind me of Gaaaviotaaa!

Goodness gracious..great balls of fire. I recognized a familiar voice at the very beginning of this preview,,,Mariana Carr. I also saw a few familiar faces, but I need more...Fernando. Loved his transformation, and just when I was saying to myself ''Where's the Fernando kiss''...there it was. Have mercy. Fernando never disappoints....and now he's a PIRATE !.Eat your heart out Johnny Depp. Sylvia, how'd you like that standing on the bow of your boat , chica ?????~~~Susanlynn, ready to set sail

I too was thinking I'd stop with novelas soon (but not this blog) and then I saw this. I'm glad you all are enjoying the trailer!! Fernando looks great as does the whole production. I can't wait!

Wow, am I excited. Thanks for the link. I also googled something today and saw and entry for CarayCaray as the url. This will be well done with Monica Miguel as the director again with Carla Estrada producing. I'll never forget Monica as the all knowing Modesta in Alborada, wonder if she will also act in this one. I loved hearing Mariana Karr's voice - she is the one I first heard chanting Caray! Caray! in Alborada. Is that also the source of this blogspot name?
I too need a twelve step program to get part of my life back from the five telenovelas I am inhaling each week day. I hope some of the others end soon because I sure am going to watch Pasión with glee. I loved Fernando recently in the modern Ladron... but he is so handsomely suited to these historical dramas. I felt positively feverish seeing him on the bow of the pirate ship. Wowzer!

Alborada too old of a "label" to cross-reference?

Well, I've been looking at all the Pasion clips on Youtube. There are 2 clips in particular - ''Esperando la Pasion que llega pronto-''Voyage, Voyage'' and ''Fernando Colunga-Pasion'' WARNING : Watch these clips at your own risk...I think that you could get pregnant just listening to and seeing Fernando in these...even if you are male. Caray!Caray! I think this telenovela is going to rank up there with ''Amor Real'' and ''Alborada.'' It's amazing the different looks that Fernando has in each telenovela as Manuel, Luis, and now Ricardo.

Wow! It looks like another great novela! I have always loved the eighteenth and nineteenth century novelas with the beautiful period costumes! Can't wait to see FERNANDO!!!!

Thanks so much!
Does anyone know when it will be shown in the USA?

Carrie L.

*screeeeeeeeeeeeeeam! scream! screeeeeeeeeeeeam!!* Hurry up!

But it looks like Sebastian Rulli gets killed right away???? NO!

Stephe~~~Look at some of the other youtube videos of ''Pasion.

Oh, WOW. Thanks for the appetizer!

Jeanne

It looks fabulous! I hope it doesn't lose focus and drag out like so many novelas now.

I just bought "Alborada", the unabridged version, so that should tide me over until "Pirates" starts here.

I swear I'm going to make some of you pay if Fernando Colunga isn't "all that" as you claim!! Beware! ;)

Okay Okay...what could be better than slaves, pirates & Rulli getting whacked in the beginning?

Now please throw in a bad pirate with a patch & a wooden leg and I'm there...although if she keeps the "Gavi" curls throughout being raped tortured and dragged thru the mud...well I may be forced to mock

Anya, though I know everyone has different tastes, I feel confident you will love Fernando in "Alborada". And if your version is DVD (I already have the whole thing on VHS) I will buy it off you if you don't like it.

just something to add to our fun -

esmas.com has finally started an official website for Pasion. it is at:

www.esmas.com/Pasion

right now, there's several articles, photos, and profiles of the main characters.

You're right, Becky T, the 17th & 18th century period novelas are really the best; the Televisa costumers do the most amazing job with wardrobe from these eras. The costumes made for "Alborada", "Amor Real" and my first-love period novela, "Amor Gitano" are just sumptuous.

I'm very excited about this new Carla Estrada telenovela. What happens when you take the production & directorial talents of Carla Estrada & Monica Miguel and add the incredible look of Fernando Colunga to the mix? You get a SUPERTELENOVELA!!! He was just born to play these swashbuckling parts; I still get giddy watching "Alborada". Still, I hope he & Susana Gonzalez have the right chemistry together, since a lackluster romantic pairing could sink the ship (no pun intended :-)), so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Wow..beee still my beating heart. I can't wait to see this one. Oh Fernandoooooo..I agree that he has been born to play these swashbuckling roles. Carla Estrada and Monica Miguel are the dynamic duo of TN World and these historical novelas are just fantastic: excepcional, maravilloso, lo mejor de lo mejor.

okay my curiosity is piqued. it looks like a movie almost.

Thanks for the trailer.

We have another blockbuster coming, no doubt about it. I love these things and this one looks even better than Alborada! Kika was somebody I didn't expect in this. Anyway, methinks it premiers up here the end of Nov.

This looks like it might be a good place for me to say "Thank You!" to Melinama. I ordered the Alborada DVD's from Novelas-r-us after LFMB ended and I just started watching them this weekend. It is so nice to have your great Alborada recaps available here. I read your summary first, then watch the show - and I get a lot more out of it that way.
The disadvantage of watching this "on my own" is that I don't get to participate in all the interesting comments on a daily basis - but the advantage is greater: I can watch whenever I want to, for as long as I want. I watched the first 5 episodes over the weekend while the rest of the family was watching football.
Thanks again, Melinama, for making this so much more fun,
Ann

I did not know Colunga by time someone told me about Sortilegio. While I was following Levy and Soto in Sortilegio, the screen showed me a window with this amazing guy in a pirate outfit. I clicked on that window... and... since then... I did not even bother to see Sortilegio final. I was simply addicted on Colunga. Since then I have already watched all his novelas. I live in UK but I went to the length of buying Ladron q roba ladron online. This looks like a curse. I cannot sleep without watching him in my lap top. I am a Colunga addicted. I need to go to rehab to get rid of this addiction. I just wonder: is this guy for real? Does he really exist? God! He is too good to be true. I love him sooo muuuch!!!
