Destilando 10/29/07 Rod wonders, "Was it Love or Just Aunts in his Pants?"

Wow what an emotion packed episode..So the translation may be light, but the emotion crosses all language barriers.

We begin with a flashback of Clarita’s fateful phone call to Gavi….Yadda Yadda Yadda…
The Montalvo short bus is coming to pick me up cause looks like Don Amador mentioned me, can you believe it, me moi? In his much anticipated 4 year later will. “Que the Hell, Ma”, whats up with that.
Don’t let anyone, no one & especially those sucking Montalvos in the apartment till I get there.
I will take the first plane home to Mexico City, DF.

Gavi hangs up and Dr. Climate (I don’t remember his name, but he was actually able to work with Gavi and not fall in love) comes running up. Hey it food time, he tells her. Sorry, gotta go involved in yet another personal drama back in DF. Gavi has desk clerk chick try to find an earlier plane. No such luck. Okay time to call Ma. Hey Ma, I am having trouble hookin up with an earlier flight, so wait & by the by am I “Amador’s kid?”, cause hey Ma, “That means I am in love with my nephew”. Ma….Ma….Ma answer me. Gavi gets no answer. I am perplexed would not a si or no have sufficed? Maybe Clarita is like damn it’s my birthday, my party..she is relishing the attention.

Meanwhile, Rod is over at the Pilar mansion, he feels so dirty, have the flashback to the story of Amador’s great Jimadora love & she was a singer too. No Rod, no shower is going to wash that away.

Meanwhile Isa gets a phonecall, No surprise it isn’t Frankie..it is her buddy Sperminator, the fertility doctor. Actually they can’t afford to pay Dr. Sperm to be on so we only get a one sided conversation where Isa tells him, he can’t possibly see Dani Drew young teen detective. Cancel those appointments.

Now in a public service announcement SanMama is reading a magazine with a big ol’ glossy of Hil, cheesing it up in a toothpaste ad..SanMama reads outloud and it is rather painful. Hard to believe just a few months ago she was in that other soap, where she was yet another female psychologist in love with her psycho patient. Ahhhh that is why they call it acting. Anyway Meeester James comes in with some advice. Say now SanWanna you should be happy, you are having a kid. Say why don’t you go to school. Well looks like lil SanMama wasn’t too much into book learning. Mr. James however, with just some Christian compassion is able to get SanMama to talk about what she’ like to do. I believe she would like to design or make clothes, or maybe just bedazzle them. Anyway, it is never too late to start.
Some advice SanMama, Hil is earning big bucks...get the DNA & slap his ass with child support..jes sayin. You can take a lot of classes at Tequila Tech with the money.

Rod comes to get Clara. He arrives at the door with roses for her birthday. Always the gentleman. Clarita tells him she wants to wait for Gavi, but she also has a hair appointment. Egads, Rod will accompany her to the salon and wait in the car. Please I swear he is season two away from Will & Grace. He could have done some awesome dreadlocks for her.

Gavi arrives back at the apartment. Window washer general laborer kid is out in front. Say is my Ma here?
Nah she took off with the guy in the white car. You know that guy that used to stalk you night and day, you know the guy that dumped you, my amigo says that dude is stalking some hawt shrink who wears fluffy sleeveless garden dresses and smells really, really, really nice if you know what I mean. Okay so I added the second part, but you know the kid wanted to say it, his lines ended up on the editing room floor.
Thus said Gavi heeds a Taxi.

Rod is sitting in his car stalking no one in particular, old habits die hard. Clarita comes running out, looks like beauty takes time. Rod has to wait.

Meanwhile, over at the departmento or house or tomb or whatever that place Pilar calls home is, the family is sitting around discussing, every once in a while one takes flight and circles the others looking for signs of weakness. Zopilotes. They start in about what if? Seriously I am expecting them to start pulling up the couch cushions looking for pesos. OMG, does the second will override the first? What are they going to get.. It can’t be It can’t be Oh what a wicked world…what a wicked world. The phone rings it is Rod calling home. Dani answers and he tells her he is waiting outside a hair salon for Clarita. Meanwhile Gavi arrives. Dani greets her with a “What’s up Tia?”. This does not sit well with Gavi, but Dani keeps it up.
I gotta say Gavi is all shades braver than I am, there is no way I would want to walk into that by myself. She did think Clarita would be there, but alas Clarita is trying to clean off decades of Agave dust.

Gavi wants to talk to Videray, but Aaron does one of his finger snapping dismissive gesture, no talk in front of all of us.

More of this we are not going to accept the crap of this new will. Sofie tries to temper the speculation. Aaron always the gentleman inquires, “Do you know who your Daddie is?” Gavi answers, “No, my mother always closely guarded the secret”. However and I do paraphrase here, “I can not stand the idea that I could be part of this family, we work for a living, we don’t live off others, play the lottery, expect to marry rich men or wait for an inheritance from heaven”, pointed look given to Isa, the Trophy Whore Barbie. Frankie looks a bit uncomfortable. Gavi says she is proud of her blood and no offense Dona Pillar, she don’t want the name. Gavi goes on and says no matter what is left to them, they don’t want it. All in all I think Gavi did a fine job of making rich people look uncomfortable. I do have to insert here that Pilar greeted her and was nice as well as Bruno. Aaron, Minnie, Fedra & Isa were all ready to steal the nickels off a dead man’s eyes. Dani looked remiss, Frankie uncomfortable & Sofie, like Jeez could I have been wrong?

Now for another trip down the road of futility, Cassandra (and I don’t mean to be mean here, just snarky, but that chick always scares me. WTH is up with her make-up, she has the permanently startled look constantly.) is meeting with Dr. Blondie Stoic, trying to find out how his hot and heavy romance is going. Well it is proceeding in a timely manner and extremely slow timely manner. He says Rod has changed and is not longer the maniacal crazed jealous man he once was. Rod & Gavi have not hooked up again. So Dr is sitting on his laurels just waiting to declare himself to her. Cassandra does some pumping up, you are good looking, intelligent, awesome go for it. Oh Cassandra, the Virgin Mary is crying tears of blood over your lies, hey if they use this on little kids, well they can’t tell anything compared to this whopper.

Rod & Clarita arrive. Hey let’s get the show on the road. People offer Clarita a seat, but Gavi won’t let her sit down. Gavi has a tude going, or maybe I am being overly judgmental, if the Zopilotes think you are weak they will swarm on you.

At this point we dismiss Frankie & Isa, the non-Montalvos from the room, they are not blood so get out. The same could be said of Minnie & Fedra, but it would take an enormous shoe horn wedged under each respective ass & a lot of leverage, thus not willing to fight physics, they are allowed to stay.

Now we get this totally awesome Cheese Commercial for Manchego Noche Light. A bit of bantering from our young chef Frankie & the help. She brings him the cheese and he opens the package, slices off a wedge…ummm Muy Rico…(I have had that type of cheese and Frankie ain’t wrong it is muy Rico), here come Isa with NotRod’sBaby’s bottle. Here servant lady, go heat that up while I heat up Frankie. Seriously like that kid needs a bottle, he is like giant baby.

Since the family is distracted circling the Hernandez Clan, this would be a fine time for Isa to start her shrewish, harpy nagging. Hello, I have seen enough TeleNovelas to know, the Amante is always loving, extremely sexually & willing to please, well at least to the dumb guys face. Isa, Frankie ditched his mother he doesn’t want another one. She starts in with we have to ditch the Montalvos before Rod figures out the kid isn’t his & does a DNA & lil Ricky gets cut out of a lifetime of family backstabbing & screwing everyone over. She pressures Frankie, but he just isn’t ready to jump off the gravy train.

We get another “Hey this is what the will would sound like if I was alive”, flashback from Don Amador. Greeting & Salutations, Okay here it is “I leave the hacienda “Los Miercoles” , located in Tequila and said land to Clara Hernandez and in the event of her death to Theresa Whatever Hernandez. It is to be their land and property”. Something about Clara has reached the age of reason 50 anos, Happy Birthday. Clara is the soul of the land, she is a Jimadora, she represents the whole Jimador working people (unfortunately the other jimadors only got a mention and no land). Amador gives this in payment to her. He owed his life to Clara.

Everyone is stunned. I’m stunned he owed his life to her and she got a hacienda, when she was fifty? Dude she hacked a boat load of Agave in that time. Not that I am greedy, but he did say he owed her his life.

Gavi does the Thanks but No Thanks. Rod says that is excellent land. Gavi is, NO we don’t want it. Clara does not look so certain. I could do a serious smack down on Gavi right now. Nobel is nobel, but you are stupid. I’d be doing “Uh Uh Uh, We got your land, We got your land” . This however is not to be confused with the big Hacienda, the Montalvo’s still have that. At least for now.

Now upon questioning Clara begins to explain her good fortune.
Poor Clarita her parents died careening down a mountain on a bus, alas they were poor…to poor to afford color, all these scenes are in black and white. Clara was all alone, but she was a migrant worker and one year she came to the Montalvos…to earn the abundance of pay that those folks at Tara were willing to give their slaves…oooops scratch that, I have my kind-hearted wealthy planter people stories confused. Anyway this was Norma Rae days, Clara was tough enough to become one of the first female jimadors. She was counting her cash and belting out a tune…some guy named Timothy came in said
Don Amador wanted to see her. She stashed her ducats and left. Of course Tim & an accomplice stole her cash. Clara comes back and questions Tim, Don Amador didn’t ask to see her. You can see the black and white wheels turning in her head…Hey she runs into the lil cabana, come out and knocks Tim to the ground she is wailing on him. Don Amador pulls up in a vintage jeep. He pulls her off.
Rod has a flashback to pulling Gavi off a jimador she was wailing on. Oh these women.

Now we are left to wonder, did turn Don Amador’s thoughts to love like it did his grandson?

Stay tuned …
Gavi wants to leave, but not so fast, Pilar wants to know “Just what condition Amador’s condition was in”
Or “Were you doing my husband”
Looks like Rod is on the phone with Erika, does this mean she will call him sobrino? Hey I mean that in a totally playful manner.

Oh wow ok there is so something we didn't see coming from teh first episode (yeah right)
by the way I read past recaps and the funeral one in the begining where the funeral was a big party it is a French thing. you see it in Lousiana especially in New Orleans and places with a rich French past. They believe you should party when you die because you are no long held down on earth by the sins of life but are now free to be among God and the angels in heaven. Also believe that by partying it confuses all spirits that are hanging around as to what is going on and they won't follow the mourners home

Beckster, You have me laughing so hard, it's 1AM in the Rockies and I don't know how I can go to sleep! Great riffs and lines I wish I had thought of. My favorites include "Aunts in you pants" of course. Dani Drew, teen sleuth; stealing nickels off dead men's eyes. and the Clarita's parents death scene in B&W since they were too poor for color. You have really out done yourself.
Wasn't it a fun episode though! Everyone got a chance to do their best stuff. I did like that Rodrigo seemed to be beaming support and pride at the pluckish Clarita of old and it sent him off in reveries about the good old days with Gaviota. Too bad the previews show him tooth&gum grinning at Erika. She's really getting steamy hawt and about to commit more professional no-no's, no??

This recap is hilarious. I liked the couch cushions part - and so many other wonderful lines.
And I'm sooo grateful it's already up tonight because my tape machine cleverly changed itself to daylight savings, except they moved the dates so we aren't actually on daylight savings until next weekend. So I ended up with Christina and missed this whole great episode! Boo hoo!

beckster: what is/are Zopilotes? Is that a Spanish word, or slang, or what? Is sounds real nifty, and I might try using it if I had any idea what it meant. I got the impression it was kinda like buzzards circling, or maybe a pack of wolves? Gracias. JudyG

Beckster^^^''Aunts in his pants''..hahaha...Loved it. Where do you get this stuff, Sistergirl ?? Your mind must be a wild and mysterious place indeed. Thanks for the breakfast giggles. I love to read your recaps. And I heave a huge sigh of relief knowing that Clarita and Gavi did not get OUR hacienda since I am pretty sure that they would not be giving us the pink cycle , Mustang Sally, or palomino. I enjoyed watching Rod waiting in the car at the beauty shop ..as if. I expected more hissyfits from Min and Fedra. Sanmama...good one...is definitely not the sharpest tack in the box. Her lisping, grinning, simpering monologues drive me a little crazy. Okay, so I guess Clarita saved Amador's life ...he fell into a really big, spiky agave and she hacked him out or something...runaway horse...hostile jimador with a large machete...some tainted tequila...Heimlich manuver ...what ??? By the way, I think the thieving Timothy played Santos in '' Duelo.'' The guy who got beaten up every third episode. Thanks, Beckster for the fun.

Zopilotes are buzzards or vultures. I would see them in the sky when I was way out in the Boonies in Mexico, I was sure they were circling for me.

I was so ticked off at Gavi. Who is she to tell her mother she can not inherit the haciendo?? Her mother worked hard all her life. What does gavi want? Her mother to be at her beck and call for hte rest of her life and to live with her and rod, but never have her own life. I felt like smacking the girl. It should be Clarita's decision, not Gavi. Just because she got herself into this mess with rod and isa, does not mean her mother has to suffer. Ret

Beckster, Brilliantly funny. How
nice it is to laugh and feel this
good in the morning. I thank you
for that this morning. There are
many funny lines, however when I
came to the line about Clarita's
parents being too poor for color,
Girl I Hollered! What fun I am
having. The best part of these
novellas are all of you guys.
I Thank You all from a warm place in my heart.

Beckster: Great way to start my day with your hilarious recap. Right - what are zapilotes?

Ha Ha! Beckster, you've outdone yourself with the title!! Excellent recap, great episode.

Susanlynn, you nailed it again. Yes, that was the wimp Santos from Duelo. I think he is typecast as a piñata, poor guy.

So what's with all the product placement? Three in one episode?

Excuse me for jumping back on board for las ultimas semanas and asking really obvious questions...but whatever happened to Miercoles Addams? Is James planning to 'save' (i.e. fall for) SanJuana because he needs a new project?

zopilotes = vultures

That cheese commercial was unbelievable. Is this the future of all tv? The maid asks Frankie, "Which cheese shall I put out?" and he goes, "Hunky Cheese Light, of course!" and they put out two huge pieces and the camera zooms in on the packaging, and then he even has to cut off a piece and hold it next to his face and take a bite and say, "mm, mm, muy rico!" WOW.

I found it very rude and insensitive on Dani's part to call Gavi "tia" ... out of character.

What I think is even funnier than the cheese ad itself is that they chose the show's biggest con man to pitch it.

As if Frankie would ever eat cheese that had touched plastic.

In all seriousness... we call this sort of thing "cheesy" (no pun intended). Do they also use cheese as an insult? Could you say this scene was "quesoso"?

("Too poor to afford color"... hahahaha)

I guess I was wrong about the other jimadores not tolerating Clarita's bad singing. Evidently, if anyone complained she would just beat them up.

By the way, I think the house is named: Las Mirasoles. (looks at the sun) That is a variation on Sunflowers. The other spelling in some books is Girasoles (turns to the sun).

Anon at 7:53, I agree that Gaviota is being really annoying taking over her mother's perogative to receive this kind gift from Amador. It is none of her business but she has gotten into so much trouble all through this TN by being hot headed and making foolish snap decisions. She actually acts proud that she made this decision without knowing what she was talking about. At least Erika is intelligent. Gavi needs to get her brain back in her skull.

I love the word: Zopilotes, must be a good Nahuatl word (Aztec, et.al.), huh? Gaviota has referred to the the zopilotes circling at various times. Here is an interesting reference from Wikipedia on cultural differences:

In Southern Africa, the name for a Nubian vulture is synonymous with the term applied to lovers, because these vultures are always seen in pairs, mother and child remaining closely bonded together. Pairing, bonding, protecting, and loving are essential attributes associated with the vulture's size and its ability to soar high up in the sky. The Egyptians considered the vulture an excellent mother, and its wide wingspan was seen as all-encompassing and providing a protective cover to its infants. The vulture hieroglyph
was the uniliteral sign used for the glottal sound (3) including words such as mother, prosperous, grandmother, and ruler
In the Western world, the image of the vulture is far more negative, with 'vulture' used as a metaphor for those who prey on the weak or dying, with associated negative connotations of cowardice and selfishness (although the vulture plays an important natural role).

Sylvia^^^About Acacia...James has her in a sanitorium or something. The last ttme we viewers saw her she was throttling her dolly out on the lawn of the institution. She seems to freak out at the color red. [Very Lady Macbeth..''Out, out damned spot.'' Very ''Crime and Punishment''..she can't forgive herself for killing that horrible, abusive tio of hers , so she has dropped into some dark abyss and James has not been doing anything to give her a hand out of that deep rabbit hole of crazy she has plummeted into.] Meester James seems to have forgotten about her. We never see him visiting her ...nice guy....and he seldom whimpers about her to anyone who will listen anymore. James is a useless whiner. It's easier to whimper and whine and feel sorry for himself than to actually be a man and try to stand by her and give her his support. I guess it hurts him to see her that way...boohoo for you Jimmy. It's all about you, right Jim????^^^Susanlynn, who has very little patience or use for people who cannot stand up and take responsibility

sadly this is where i say i missed the show and tonights because my loon of a father wont pay the tv bill! Im gonna miss that new show! I know the awnser to what goes next but im not telling! I got that theme song in my head!
great recap though!

Great Recap Beckster. You should be writing comedy for SNL. They sure need you.
I think Cassandra's mother was scared by a raccoon. Why does she want her eyes to look like she's been dead for weeks, Alvira doesn't look as sepulchral as her.
We were poor when I was growing up and my mother would have been at the hacienda measuring curtains before you could say humadora Amadora.

A MOST excellent recap Beckster! Thanks for making me smile on a tough day. You're truly gifted with the words.

Right Ret-- Gavi needed a good side kick from her Mama. She could have gotten away with her better than thou sermon and put them to shame-- if she had stopped there. Now, she's just stupid again...
jb

I could go on and on about everything I loved about the great recap and about all the great coments it generated. But ANON 07:53 and Cherylynn summed up everything I wanted to say about Gavi's nerve in turning down Clarita's inheritance. I would have been like Beckster "ha, ha, I got your land" type thing. Of course we know it's going to work out in her favor in the long run. Just like that dumb act of throwing the keys and cell phone at Aaron. Pride is one thing. Stupid is another. Doing dumb things does not demonstrate that you have pride. Pride would have been more like not feeling obliged to respond to Aaron's inquiry about who is her father.

Beckster, your recaps are awesome. I sometimes enjoy the recaps better than the novela. In fact,I never knew people disected these novelas. WhenI was in my younger years, I watched General Hospital. It was before and during the years of Luke and Laura. I was obsessed; however, I did not think about anything other then what was going on. It's unbelievable what we come up with when a group of people put their minds/thoughts together. analyzing this novela is better than the actual thing ROTF. Ret

Thanks Susanlynn! How trite that James has forgotten about Acacia. That behavior is absolutely typical of whiny obsessive types. Not that I'm a psychiatrist or anything, I'm just sayin' based on years of observation.
-Sylvia, also wearied by irresponsible whiners; excited big time, however, by pirates.

Ha Ha Ha, I'm still laughing. Maybe Dr. Erika could staighten out poor, lonely Acacia. She will need something to do after Rod goes back to Gavi. I have seen Clarita speak up when it is called for - I believe she will do it here, also. "Shut up, Hija, the land is mine, all mine"
B from Mass.

I hope none of the pirates are whimpering whiners. Now, let's all sing for Clarita...''This land is your land......NO.....this land is MY land.'' If you are smart, Clarita, you will move your big screen TV into that place manana.^^^Susanlynnmaking jazz hands while singing

Total agreement that Gavi should shut up and let her mother enjoy her new land. Gavi goes over the top with her "pride" and "independance" routine. I too would have been unable to stop myself from giving Aron and his mujers a smirk or two and unlike Clarita I would have told Pilar i would reveal all to her in private. The vultures didn't need to hear anything.

Poor Frankie, Isa may be hot but she is a nagging queen.

Dani quip about Tia Gavi was a little out of character for her but maybe she wanted to put the spurs to the rest of the clan.

Come on Clarita, pack up your big screen, your santos and tape measure and head for your hacienda.

So how come we've figured out that Clarita somehow"saved" Amador's life, and nobody else on the show has? Doesn't this imply that he's not Gavi's father?Pilar wants to know what Clarita's relationship with her husband was. And how come there were no thought bubbles from Gaviota or Rodrigo saying, "Gracias Dio, we're not related?" Are the viewers the only smart ones??? As soon as this is finally acknowledged, we're probably going to have Rod drive them home only to find Dr. Coffee waiting with flowers for clarita's 50th, sending Rod into Erika's loving arms. This TN needs a faster wrap-up...unless they are more cheese and other product placements that take precedent to the story.

I can only quote Frankie about both the episode and the recap--"que rico". I enjoyed both very much. Beckster, I loved all your funnies, especially "Aunts in his pants" and Clarita's family being too poor to afford color flashbacks. Also liked the comment about the cheese promotion being done by the biggest con man. And yes, Cassandra is scary looking. Aaron snapping his fingers was so very rude. Gavi should have let her mother decide about taking the land, but I did enjoy Gavi's speech affirming her pride in her accomplishments and her scorn for the greedy and grasping zopilotes Montalvos.
Also liked the young Clarita--good casting. Clarita needs the little hacienda with her big screen, her santos, and a few agave plants for old times sake.
There was a brief conversation about Acacia not too long ago, when James was telling Sofi that there was no progress in her case.

Hey anon 5:34, nothing screams hawt sex like a life saving..a soap staple. It ranks right up there with hawt hate monkey sex...Aaron & Minnie kinda have hawt hate monkey sex. So it is possible Clarita & the Don knocked sandels. I however don't think so cause Clarita is too good a Catholic, she wouldn't have allowed Gavi to engage a forbidden relationship (aside from the whole premarital sex thing), but the incest sin would not be on Gavi, it would be on Clara for not revealing it to Gavi after the first time. As much as Clarita chats up the Virgincita, well I'm sure she'd be skating on thin ice.

Hee Hee! Beckster! We think you should be a comedy writer! The Sperminator!!!!! I almost fell off my chair at that one! Great recap!

Tonight's should be really good!

Thanks for the recap!
Things are getting lively now.

I can't wait 'til Clarita moves into that hacienda!

BTW,Martha Roth (Pilar) is in a new movie from Mexico "Morirse está en hebreo" and she looks a more lively than she does in D.A.

Hey anon 6:00 - Aron was rude by snapping his fingers to Gavi. However, I thought he was going to slap everyone's ass like he always does with his wife.

Beckster, you are very funny. Feeding a giant baby a bottle is a riot.

What was up with Clarita's accent and mannerisms when she was telling the story about beating up the jimadore? She sounded like she belonged in a agave romper room.

''Aunts in his pants''...I read that at 8 am...It's 8 pm now and...I'm still laughing over it !!Good one, Beckster. That one is going down in recap history along with ''que the hell'' and ''the mystery boinker of Santa Rita.''

CherylNewMex- Thank you for the translation of "Los Miercoles". I kept wondering why anyone would name a hacienda "The Wednesdays" Apparently, the caption people interpreted incorrectly and it should have been "Las Mirasoles" which makes a lot more sense. Probably sound intonation or whatever, however, for those of us that cannot pick up the verbal as quickly as the written translation, Thank You, Mucho Thank you. EMO

Wow I did butcher the Hacienda names..Oh well, I tend to skim the details. I'd still be doing the "We got your house..We own your house uhuh uhuh, it's in a will uhuh, uhuh, don't drop by without calling first" Then I would have an awesome in your face lil dance to go with it.
uhuh uhuh

Loved your recap as always, Beckster. Thanks for the great laughs!

Tara! After this summary's title ("Was it Love or Just Aunts in his Pants?") the Tara shout-out has to be the funniest thing I read in this summary - and there was plenty of competition! I also loved your take on the gratuitous jimadora tribute: "Clara is the soul of the land, she is a Jimadora, she represents the whole Jimador working people (unfortunately the other jimadors only got a mention and no land)."

Ah, Dr. Climate! Is overripe agave such a serious concern that we, as well as Gavi, need to sit through those boring non-informational global warming lectures? If penguins, melting glaciers, and weather catastrophies don't inspire people to act, I doubt Dr. Climate has much of a chance... I actually thought that producers were more concerned with a current short supply due to the fact that agave plantations were being torn up to plant corn instead - quicker return and better price, now that ethanol subsidies have caused the price of corn to go up...

Well, I sure hope that the flashback bus crash was old footage sitting around, because it looked so ridiculous that it would be a shame to think Televisa actually spent money on it - loved your comment about Clarita's parents being too poor to afford color!

You should see if the Manchego cheese people will pay you for the product endorsement, since you basically repeated their commercial for them here. Maybe you can take your fee out in trade?

Well, I don't think I've posted here before. I confess I'm one of those annoying people who thinks both previous versions of this novela were oodles better than Gavi and Gang, but you don't see me harping on that, do you? {grin} I watch occasionally to keep tabs on the novela, and have a laugh or two, but mostly I try to watch Monday nights because I'll enjoy your hysterical recaps all the more - beckster, thanks!

(janet from TW)

I love Mondays because of you, beckster. Fantastic, thanks for your wonderful sense of humor. On what channel will the pirate telenovela be aired?

Melanie, the pirate novela ("Pasion") will be on Univision. I don't know if Univision has started showing any promos yet, but the guess is that it will take over Destilando's timeslot when that one ends; definitely Pirates will be a prime time novela. Meanwhile, if you're bored and have a hankering for pretty costumes, ships, and heavy gold jewelry, you might check out the "Gitanas" (gypsies) rerun on Telemundo in the mornings...
