Destilando Amor - Nov. 15, 2007 while Rod and Gavi are away, all heck breaks loose at Montalvo corp.

EPISODE - Nov. 15, 2007:
* Rod teases Gavi for being late, Gavi sweetly bats her eyelashes and apologizes. They kiss in the palaba cafe.

* Dani hangs up the phone - she has a serious and sad look on her face. Elvis walks Grammy out of the room. Dani tells Nestor how worried she is about Pilar's health. Bruno calls Dani about where Rod is, she tells him that Rod has reunited with Gavi - they are together again. After she hangs up, she asks Nestor why Bruno is looking for Rod. Nestor says it's a grave problem and they could lose the farm.

* Bruno tells Fedra, Aaron and Minnie that Rod and Gavi are back together again.

* Rod and Gavi are together having a private lunch on their little rowboat on the lake. (looks more like a table and chairs on a canoe to me)

* Patricio and Fedra have an argument in the office about the fraudulent signed documents - she tells him that they are to blame it all on Gavi.

* Rod and Gavi are on their little rowboat in the middle of the lake near the waterfall. They toast their love with some tequila. They kiss.

* James, Roman and Crispin discuss a plan to save the agave crops and the farm. Sofia runs in with some valuable information she just received. Roman and Crispin leave to start their end of the plan. James and Sofia commisserate their losses due to the incompetency of Pancho de la Vega. James is depressed - Sofia is positive and says they will work hard together to overcome this and save Montalveno.

* Pancho meets with Priscilla (Laura Flores) in a restaurant. He works hard at sweet talking her. (not sure if she's buying it or not - she has a definite poker face right now). Lunch comes. Priscilla hands Pancho her card and leaves. He's proud of his new catch. As she leaves with the attendant, he hands her the phone. She calls Sharon to get her to call for a chauffeur for her - she so hates to take taxis. {thanks jardinera for the correction on the name}

* Jose is talking with Clarita about her conversation with Sofia. No sign of Pancho, only word about Rod.

* Isa mutters to her mirror.

* Jose and Clara continue talking. Clara talks Jose into staying at the apartment with her. Jose asks where Mariana is. Clara drops a few hints and makes Jose guess. Jose has no clue - and isn't very good with guessing games. Clara has to come out and say in San Luis Potosi with Rod! They celebrate.

* At night, Rod and Gavi are in the middle of a circle of tiki torches. She says it's perfect (so romantic). Rod says not just yet. He snaps his fingers and three mariachi come over to softly serenade them to the song "Por Amarte".

*** PASION PROMO #1 for tonight - "live the story that will enchant and steal your heart night after night - Pasion ... se acerca" - video of Ricardo, Santiago, Mario, and Camila. ***

* Isa asks Pancho where they are going to live - Japan or somewhere in Mexico. Pancho is shocked by the suggestion of leaving right now. Isa and Pancho argue over Pancho's new job and lady boss. He's confident. She's a bit jealous and upset. He leaves.

* In their romantic love tent, with rose petals spread all over the bed, Rod and Gavi make love.

* At the corporate offices, Nestor and Bruno have a heated discussion about who is to blame for the fraudulent exports. Nestor accuses Aaron and Larry the Snake - it would be just like them to do this. Bruno is so aghast that he continues to hold onto the thought that Gavi is at fault. Nestor asks him if he has any proof to substantiate blaming Gavi for this. Bruno doesn't have any and sits down in silence. Nestor then tells Bruno that Dani knows about this, but they haven't told Pilar anything. Aaron calls in. Bruno is angry that Aaron decided to travel to Miami instead of meeting at the office in Mexico. They argue. Aaron hangs up and tosses the phone on the table. He and Larry the snake laugh over their success. Bruno and Nestor are frustrated and upset over the diseased fields and damage it will have to the crops and the corporation's products.

*** PASION PROMO #2 -- cast list, starting with Fernando, and video clips ***

* At the Cascade de Tumul, Rod and Gavi are standing on the overlook over the waterfalls. They kiss.

* Video of the agave fields at sunset, twilight, dusk.

* Sofia, James, Roman, and fieldworkers are in the fields at night throwing grains of stuff on the plants to try to save the crops. Sofia stops, looks up to the sky and cries to her father for forgiveness. James sees her drop to her knees and wonders what's wrong. Sofia cries her guilt to him - over everything she's done to her brother and the family business - she thinks this is her penace for it. This time, it's James who has to give Sofia positive advice and support. They get back to saving the crops; with cheers and shouts of encouragement.

* Gavi and Rod in their romantic bed. Rod is half asleep. Gavi tries to wake him up to leave the bed. He doesn't want to, kisses her and pulls her back under the covers.

* Patricio and Lluvia are alone together discussing the fraudulent exports. Lluvia is scared that she will be implicated in the scandal also. Patricio has to work to calm her fears.

* Rod and Gavi together in the wooded area talking. They discuss where to have their wedding - they decide to have it in Mexico, with family, friends, and in agave fields.

* Crispin, James, Sofia and Roman are eating their breakfast in earnest after a hard night's work. James and Sofia wonder if they did enough. Ofelia gives them her positive prayers. SJ speaks up with her opinions about family. Ofelia asks how does she know. SJ says she is pregnant with her own child. Ofelia and Roman gives their opinions about parenthood.

* Meanwhile back in Mexico City, Clara is talking with Hilario. She is trying her best to convince Hilario to visit SJ. He hates the idea - and won't get together with that woman to raise someone else's child. She asks if he's sure about that. He looks stunned. She says he has to go, if only to find out the truth about the paternity. Hilario agrees to go to Montalveno and convince SJ to agree to a paternity test on the baby.

* Aaron finally arrives at the corporate offices and storms into his father's office. Aaron is still hot and determined to shout his accusations of fraud on Rod and Gavi. Bruno tells him that the authorities are now involved. Aaron continues with his ranting about Rod and Gavi being to blame for all this. Patricio and Bruno want to see some proof from Aaron to back up his accusations. Aaron starts to shout his proof in detail to back up his statements. Bruno and Patricio are stunned.

*** PASION PROMO #3 -- the storybook fairy of Pasion ... se acerca (the video showed a kiss between Ricardo and Camila) ***

* Aaron storms out of the office and down the hallway. Patricio stops him and starts to scold him about accusing his own cousin of fraud. Aaron says it may be hard to hear, but he is saving himself now and advises Patricio to do the same. Patricio asks about Lluvia being implicated. Aaron says that he is only interested in blaming the ultimate one responsible -- ROD!

* Pancho is on the phone with Priscilla, making a date to meet (the dirty two-timing dog). Pancho switches his tone to a more work-related professional one when Isa walks into the room with Ricky. Isa is suspicious. He tells her about his work-related dinner meeting. Isa says great, after she feeds Ricky, she will go with him. Pancho denies the request. She says fine, she will stay there, but tomorrow they will be moving. Pancho is shocked by the idea, and sweet talks her into doing exactly what he decides.

* Aaron meets with the authorities in a transcribed official session. Aaron lays out all the proof he has on the fraud and how it implicates Rod and Gavi. Aaron gives his statement about all the documents.

ADVANCE: Pancho is playing the enchanting schmuck; Gavi is enchanted to be with Rod again; Rod slugs Aaron in front of his aunt and uncle - motive, Aaron wants to put him in jail.

PROGRAM NOTES: Monday, December 3 at 7 p.m. Destilando Amor Grand Finale - two and a half hours! (beckster, do you think you can handle it?)

My goodness! Your recap was mighty thorough. I'm cringing every time I see Gavi and Rod boinking amid their Blue Lagoon-style hideaway (strange seeing the two of them happy AND together AND nekkid..ewwww). For I know the Mexican anvil is about to come crashing down on their rose-covered cama. Yikes! Can't wait for the two hour final (go Beckster) and also for the awards show.

I think this episode shows us why the hero and heroine don't usually get together till the very end. Wasn't it extremely boring watching them go "mi amor, mi amor" and smooch?

Yes, Melinama, it was totally boring watching the lovebirds. I'm romantic enough to want them together, but I'm much more interested in justice (read anvils) prevailing for all concerned.

I missed a fine point. Is Priscilla the former lover of Aaron? Whoa, zoomed right past me.

So Sophie can save the agaves? What does she know that the others don't? And wasn't Crispin in cahoots with Francisco?

Thank every recapper. I obviously don't know enough Spanish to even start to understand the majority of the story.

I think Crispin was just a drinking buddy of Francisco. I think he would drink with anybody who was paying.

Wasn't it funny, all those valiant workers in the dark randomly throwing white dust all over each other? What would OSHA say?

I really appreciate this thorough recap because I missed last night's episode. To you experienced telenovela people, do the networks ever repeat a novela after it is over? From lower Ala

In the boat scene(Gavi&Rod) with the wine sipping, wobbly chairs, decked out in flowers was almost (in real life) a potential tragedy..According to bloopers from the shooting, the boat over- turned pinning the two under the boat. They had to be rescued by the crew..If you noticed last night, it seemed quite awkward to keep the boat upright...Did anyone else here see the story?

Thankyou, j.r.!

If I could add a couple things, and if I'm not mistaken, my Closed Captions say Sharon, not Aaron, whenever Priscilla gets on the phone to "impress de la Vega from the Montalvo tequila fortune" & to beg for a chauffer, so I don't think Aaron has any part in this. She owes this woman a huge lot of money like Pancho owes Estefano.
========
Also, according to esmas notes they were putting "cal"(which translates to lime, but then why with bare hands?) on the plants, including the "organico" plants to avoid any fire kicking up winds and spreading the spore over to whatever maturest plants (the 6 yr. ones I was thinking) they were supposed to be able to save a little part of according to the CRT techs. I am confused over this end of the storyline, but that was part of what James explained to Sofia at the table I believe.
=======
Isa I believe was being sarcastic about "Japan" and any job interview/offer. She doesn't really believe Frankie isn't pulling the same ruse on her as with Sofia and he swears it's with that rich corporate guy with the initials M. F. (too early to remember the name) when he's covering up his date with Priscilla who he figures to scam, is the way I'm understanding this thing.
=====
I was reading C/C and listening too which always slows me down, but I think Aaron also told Pat that this crime couldn't be made to go away with cash or a huge fine, only jailtime and he wasn't going to be the one to do it. He promised Pat to take care of Rod's problem as signator/corporate officer in charge after he got the corporation up and running again. However, he went to the authorities and did exactly the opposite.

pasofino - try 3-4 yrs and it may not be the one you're hoping to see.
=======
I was joking last night about how many times that scene had to be redone due to oopses and falling into the lake, but had no idea they nearly died. That was total stupidity from whoever put that scene together/set it, choreographed it or whatever you want to call it!
===
I hate to think I'm getting old, but I think all those graphic lagoon and bed scenes were catching up to me in age! Even the hubster was yelling at the screen to get back to the real story cuz he was getting impatient with 3 nights of these tongue and spit swapping scenes going ad nauseum. This is definitive evidence to me that the writers had stretched out the time to this long awaited reunion soooo long that it was yesterday's news and overly anticlimactic in more ways than one........

Even though I think that they took a little bit more liberty with the love scenes than was necessary, I have enjoyed these two being back together. I'm also thinking that if some of this was torture for us, it must have been moreso for the actors. Scenes and scenes of kissing and making out with cameras in your face, and retakes etc., must have drove them crazy! Yet, I do remember being in love for the first time, and the endless "togetherness" in every sense of the word, to nauseum....Thank goodness we get older and our love and priorities change.......Thanks for the straight to the point recap!!

Lisa from Alpena

Thanks so much for the recap. I love this show. Can't wait for the finale on monday. Does anyone know if they will be coming out with this show on DVD when it's over?

How do you find out what has happened behind the scenes - like the boat tipping over? Where do you get this information? Oh, no - do I have to subscribe to another magazine? From lower Ala

What is annoying me the most about DA right now is Isadora. How could such a self-serving, scheming vamp blindly trust a man who she knows is untrustworthy? Frankie is playing her like a violin, and she continues to believe his fantastic stories? Even when she shows the least amount of suspicion, Frankie worms his way out of it, easily. Isadora used to be a player, now she's a wimp. Motherhood, and thinking that she needs her baby daddy is her downfall.

Rosie "O", and not the famous one....

I'm probably on the smaller half of the audience who enjoyed the showoff of the romance for the last couple of days. Brought me back to beginning of my own and I almost got there again. Too bad - my hubby was watching basketball!
And I loved the nature scenes. May be I have to take some side trips while in Riviera Maya next April and something like waterfall would be on my way. Hmm.
Back to the story line. I hope Patricio will get to his inner good and make something positive regarding the unveiling this fraud.
I like this match between Panchito and whatever her name is. I hope we will see something happens between them before he gets to jail for all his deeds.
I was very surprised with this meal episode when they were eating after putting all nite something on agave without even flashing off this white stuff from them. Isn't this dangerous? Actually Sophia was clean but is this just to show her high class, that she knows to wash her hands before meal?
Eve

Isa's as dumb as a box of hair. If she ever seemed like a player, it's because she was plying her craft on the even more gullible Montalvos.

couple of notes-

"cal" is lime, could irritate the skin, possibly, definitely would irritate lungs. Seriously doubt that it would have much effect against a fungal plaga, especially in the haphazard way they were applying it.

Crispin wasn't involved with the sulfato de cobre debacle, but did give Pancho de la Salida the idea of selling it off. He is just a dupe and a dope.

When/how are the anvils gonna fall on de la Salida?

Keep up the good work. recappers! my scedule has caused me to miss several episodes, so the recaps really help....dorado dave

Oh - lime (the white powder) on your hands - actually lime is just caustic. It's not actually poisonous as far as I know. In fact, I believe hominy (i.e. white grits) is actually made by soaking corn in lime.

About the white stuff they were throwing on the agaves...not to worry. I think that this was lime [calcium carbonate] a natural material from limestone or oyster shells. My dad used to spread it on the fields every year...I don't remember why he did that, but Hub thinks it was to ''soften'' the soil. People around here also used to put it on vegetables in their truck patches to keep insects from eating the plants. Since it's a naturally occuring substance, I don't think that it would compromise the organic tequila and I don't think that it's harmful to people.[Unlike the DDT that the farm agents gave my daddy to spray years ago.] Also, did anyone else notice 2 familiar faces from ''Mundo de Fieres''??? Priscilla is none other than Demian's longsuffering wife and mother of Juan Cristobal . [I forget her name.] And the official whom AAron was showing documents to was Joselyn's daddy in that telenovela. [I can't remember his name either, but I never forget a face !!!] I have not grown tired of watching Rod putting the moves on...finally...I could watch that for a while. He's a good dancer and a good kisser. However, I'm glad he changed out of that striped bumble shirt. That boat scene looked dangerous. Gavi was sitting so still and rigid. Who puts a table and chairs in a boat that size ??? Dumb. Thanks for the recap.

Well Willa and I loved the love scenes! After all the agnst and carping and fighting for weeks, it was a gentle relief. I wouldn't want to see it every episode, but I'm just saying. The Potosi setting is beautiful, it should help tourism in this area too as I hear that Tequila and other parts of Jalisco have had Destilando followers coming to see it.
The boat scene looked awkward and terribly dangerous. Why on earth would you put a table with glasses and wine bottle in a canoe and then how awkward it looked for Rodrigo to paddle from that high position. The boat didn't go anywhere he wanted it looked like. I kept expecting them to capsize as part of the story, but sorry to hear it really happened.
Priscilla seems like the exact female counterpart to Francisco. She is as much of a scum bag as he and he doesn't seem to have a clue. She isn't all that pretty but he seems to have gotten over Isadora the minute he really had her. Oh fickle love. All the crazy frenetic energy in the other scenes were a good counterpoint to the love in the tropics moments of Rod and Gavi. But you know it's going to be awful until the end for them...

The almost tragic boat scene was on YouTube some months back..One could see how uncomfortable the actors were, trying to keep the boat afloat and remembering their lines..I had forgotten about the infamous scene until it came on last night..

cool recap. hey Julie --"dumb as a box of hair"-- that was too funny. coffee spray.

I thought that Sophia "Norma Rae" Montalvo shouting in the fields was pretty shrill. She's learning her lesson, but does her voice really have to hit that horrible pitch? What that cal probably did to her manicure. Maybe she can get a job as a social worker at the Casa for Wayward Jimadoras at Mirasoles once it is up and running.

I think the love scenes are just beautiful, more for the scenery than the smooching; did anyone count kisses? San Luis Potosi has some really spectacular sights.

Watching Frankie get done by Connie (aka: Priscilla) is really rich. What a pathetic payaso.

VV.

Did anyone else notice Gavi's hair in episode that aired the night before last? Her hair went from curly to pin straight and then back to curly in a matter of two scenes. Lol!

Thanks for the recap.
I liked the smoochy love scenes - making up for the drought, I say.
Could have done without the boat scene.

I think Patricio is going to abandon the dark side and tell the truth about the adulterated tequila. But,in novela fashion, probably not before Rod the Bod & Gavi are put through hell.

The boat scene was over the top. If they had to do one why not use those bigger flat bottom numbers that you see in Zochimilco. Gavi was so rigid she looked like one of those scenes in old British movies with the woman in a big hat sitting up straight in a canoe.

Sofie in the field with a bandana over her face to protect her. They way she was tossing that powder around made me think she looked just like Tinkerbell scattering fairy dust as she danced through the aqave. And, since this is novelaland it will probably stop the plague dead in its track. I've got a few blue agave in my front yard, and two of them look pretty bad off. I wonder if I can get the gardener to toss some magic powder on them to save them as well.

Who will wimp out first on the illegal activities? My guess is Patricio. He looked for a minute like he was perfectly willing to throw Lluvia under the bus but he might have some vestige of conscience which Aron and his Mama clearly do not.

Interesting the Aron was supposed to be in Miami but was actually in the Cayman Islands. I suspect he is laundering money or stashing it in an off shore account.

SJ seems to have mellowed considerably. I hope she stands her ground and tells big head no brains Hilario to get lost when he works up the nerve to ask for a DNA test.

Personally I'm also enjoying the lovemaking scenes between Rod and Gavi....call it my guilty pleasure even though it's corny as heck, and just cause it's been way too long.....Isa, dumb as a box of hair, is funny Julie, but I don't think she's dumb, just a spoiled brat whose parents never taught her the value of anything at all. She's the product of her enviornment...born and bred to be a trophy wife user, albeit, not a good one, plus, her and Minnie weren't friends so long for nothing...birds of a feather.... By the way, why hasn't Minnie tried to contact her long lost friend?????

My thoughts exactly, Susalynn, who puts table and chairs on a boat that size? When I saw them floating down the river, I thought about that scene in the movie "Jaws" where Roy Schneider says "I think we're going to need a bigger boat! C'mon, Rod alone needs a yacht!!

Lisa from Alpena

As God is My Witness..Sofie will never go Hungry again.

Good one Beckster. But now she needs to look around at the curtains and make herself a blouse that isn't gaping at the button holes.

ROFL...

Beckster, that was my thought exactly! The only thing they could have done better was have the hacienda burning in the background!!

You people are killing me. I'm just glad there weren't no babies to be birthin'.

I've enjoyed this novela very much but I'm more than ready for it to end. I enjoyed the love scenes after all the fighting and misunderstanding. But, enough is enough. I feel like I've been put through hell, just for a few sweet moments. Especially when you know there's more trouble ahead. Finally, there's only one or 2 good people in the entire novela. Because there's nothing good to say about them, this naturally generates negative comments. It was fun in the beginning, but I'm ready for this to end. Bring on passion. Even though I know there will be bad characters and therefore lots of negativity, at least it'll be a change of pace. Even though aaron, Isa, and Pancho well deserve their punishment, it's been dragged out too long. I wonder if they purposely make these novelas to be so irritating towards the end? In the next novela everyone is in costume. what do you fashion experts out there think of that? Are they right for the storyline? Are they made of the right material? I'm anxious to hear whether or not the wardrobe department had a clue what they were doing.

decie girl, I was thinking of those flat boats at Xochimilco too. They could have had a meal, a couple of guitarists strumming beautifully and a trained gondolier (or whatever they call them in Spanish) to glide the boat around the lake or river. What they did have was just too awkward to be romantic.
And Oldman, Bester, and DecieGirl, the Tara references are just too much fun. Gone With the Agave...
Aaron is flipping back and forth with his usual lying telling Patricio that he is really going to save Rodrigo right after he saves himself and then Patricio and then Lluvia, yeah sure.... He seems to tell each person just what he thinks they want to hear so they will go along with his fraud and corruption. Can't wait to see him in a cell with no cell phone....

Just to clarify, I did like the first couple of nights of smooches and hot caresses, too, after the "long drought", but by the third night I was over it --and, no, you're never too old to appreciate and share the mood of the happy couple with your significant other.....jes sayin' I was ready to "move on" with the story already.....
: >))

BTW, did anybody notice that kissing scene near the tiki torches when EY made like AR had just bitten him and frowned and shook his head? Somebody in production screwed up the editing and I wondered if it was on purpose or just carelessness.
=======
Susanlynn: what you said about your daddy makes sense since part of the infestation was with those brown worms they showed us a couple nights ago (cannot remember the Spanish name they gave them)// and yes, I remembered the actors from Mundo you pointed out.

Sophia, crying in the Agave fields, looked like a scene from Gone with the Wind. It should be retitled "Gone with the Agave."

I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery they showed. Wish I could go there. At least Rod and Gavi had a great time before they find out that all hell is breaking loose back at the ranch and CRT.

I also thought the boat scene was a bit much. A table and chairs? On a canoe???? Come on! No wonder they had an accident!

Can't wait for Beckster's recap!!!

Also am looking forward to comments all weekend since there is no show tonight!!!! :)

ITA with you CherylNewMex about Aaron doing and saying whatever it takes to get anyone to go along with his schemes. That's why I think Aaron, along with Frankie, must die. Too bad, for too long, equals death in novela land. I don't know how it will happen, but I can imagine Minnie or Pammie ending Aaron's reign of terror....I don't think he'll make it to jail......

Jardinera-- I too saw the tiki torch almost smooch scene, but rather than blaming it on the "weekend crew", I thought that Rod had a sudden touch of decorum and thought they should maybe listen to the musicians rather than continue to suck face in public. Funny how the mind can make something make sense when it really doesn't! I kept wondering what the hell was sticking out of the back of his collar and how tacky to have not cut off the tickets until I realized it was the luv necklace.

VV.

beckster - shout out to GWTW! I was totally flashing on the eating Tara dirt scene with Sophia too - so does that make Meester James Rhett Butler, or Ashley Wilkes {insert evil grin}?

-janet/gaffa...

VV: LOL! Are we bad or what??? That part of the tikki-takki-tiki scene had me definitely thinking "B" team on editing, and those type of flubs really jar. What do ya figure it might have been the same day the two of 'em nearly drowned under the overturned canoe and they were on the 115th take or something. Reminds me of the scene in Amor Real between Mauricio Islas and Adela Noriega by the ruins when Mau was taped mouthing Adela's lines as she was saying them, and nobody edited that out either. You gotta wonder if somebody on the crew has it in for the actors for treating them like scum or something during production. It is so third ...rate.....

Okayokay. I will say that the serenading guitarists in the scene who sang "Por Amarte" in the near dark were damned fine and the rendition was very very good. Reminded me slightly of a Boccerini mandolin piece, but only slightly. Aside from the lip bite and EY's frown, yeah, I got into the romance and the beauty of the moment......

Alas this tale has no Rhett Butler..
I believe James to be more Ashley like.

Who watched the Awards?
Shout out to Joselyn and be still my heart Demian..

Didn't these actually take place a while back? I think I had already heard Rod (Eduardo), beat out Jaime Camil. Jaime Camil, dude that suit was 70's stairway to heaven prom worthy.

Also my total favorite older, but totally hawt, Enrique Roche. He just is so good at bringing the bad.

Also the commercial for Pasion..while I normally don't favor the anglo looking boys. I don't know who William Levy is (but I would give him free grog, if my name was Brandy & I was working in a bar)

I think James is more the Frank Kennedy character, cleaning out the agave fields to defend Ms. Sofia's honor. (too obscure?)

And speaking of "B" team editing, I thought the awards show was really awkwardly chopped.

yes, beckster. these TVyNovelas awards were held back in May and aired live on all the Televisa networks. Univision is the only network to tape delay the broadcast for the end of the year.

J.R. :)

Rhonda: Frank Kennedy fits as I see it.

Beckster~~~You are too funny. I think you could definitely get a job bartending at a pirate den of iniquity ,Brandy. Yohoho, break out the tankards of grog, me hearties. I enjoyed seeing Edith Gonzales get her 2 awards last night. Let's face it, Edith can really bring the BSC. Eduardo looked good accepting his award , and he didn't talktalktalk.

As for ''Gone with the Agave'', Meester James definitely could be wimpy Frank Kennedy or Charles Hamilton, Scarlett's wimpy first husband. Rod , of course, is Rhett. Dr. Coffee is Ashley. Isa is Belle Watling. Sophie is one of Scarlett's sisters. Dr. Erika is the other sister.[Neither of them ended up with a man]. Who is Melanie, the Good ???...maybe Dani.I loved ''Gone with the Wind.'' I've heard reviewers refer to ''Amor Real'' as the Mexican version.

Great God Almighty in that awards show even dressed up Meester James looked like he'd been dragged through the bushes backward. I know the show taped in May and DA must still have been filming but ugh what Elizabeth sees in him remains a mystery to me. I thought it was hilarious that all the women were dressed to the nines in elegant gowns and the men were tieless and one even wearing white shoes and a lot of them were sweating. Must have been hot and muggy in Acapulco and no Aldo to serve cool drinks.

I loved the interaction between JC and EY. They seem to be very good friends and while in DA Eduardo looks like a giant hulk it looks like he and JC are about the same size. It must be that big head of his.

decie girl, you are oh so right! What's up with the dress code chaos?

Dumb as a box of hair! You're a funny gal, Julie...
jb

I had seen on U Tube some months ago somebody who wasn’t Jaime Camil getting best actor and I was crushed - Jaime’s performance in LHMB was so terrific, I couldn’t believe anybody could beat him out. But now that I’ve seen Eduardo’s acting chops, I can see that he would definitely be worthy of an award. Still, I wish Jaime had won. Did I understand correctly that when LFMB took best novela, Rosy Ocampo was giving the award to Jaime? I thought it was very sweet. I also liked the nice man hug Eduardo gave Jaime when he (Eduardo) was announced as the winner.

I also was surprised at the rather casual dress code for the awards show…

Just now getting to C2 on Sat. afternoon. So many good points in the comments, enjoyed the GWTW parallels. Sophie's blouse was straining at the buttons. She never gets her clothes quite right, does she?
I also thought the boat floating scenes looked very uncomfortable and shaky. Not surprised they ended up in the lake.
At the awards show, it was a case of the women dressed up and the men dressed down. Loved the description of JC's blue prom suit!
It was good to see the LFMB cast again. I thought Jose Jose was a sentimental favorite winner, although he was good. I would have voted for Luigi (Sergio Mayer?)
La Paloma

Re: GWTW and Scarlett's sisters - Carreen joined a convent after The War, and the other, Suellen, married a Confederate war veteran who had been helping at Tara. I don't remember Will was in the movie, but he was in the book.
Suellen never forgave Scarlett for stealing Frank K. from her. Will was not of "their class", and didn't have a penny, but was a hard worker, and took care of Tara.

Susanlynn..okay & if I was Brandy the bar wench, would it be wrong to use my name in an offer of "Brandy", Happy Hour 2 for 1?

Seriously I would have a total heart of gold and only offer that to good looking pirates..

PS..Jaime Camil lovers don't hate me but, I still have 70's flashbacks over that suit.

I love Jaime, but you are so right about that suit, Beckster! Just like with Eduardo's bumble bee shirt earlier this week, I have the special gift of picturing them without the clothes. :)

I thought Jose Jose got it for sentimental reasons too. He did a serviceable job, but was not the best co-star on the show by any means. My vote would be for Jaime’s best friend on the show whose name escapes me right now, though Sergio was good too.
I saw Jose Jose on Don Francisco’s talk show saying the part saved his life – he was in bed with depression after his voice got wrecked and this got him up and going again.

About the awards show - seeing Avellenada (or whatever the CRT head is called) really made me laugh. He was wearing a light grey suit, white shirt, white BELT, white shoes that seemed to curl upward at the toes and a pink satiny tie. Not his character's image. It was fun to see Eduardo in real life. He seems like a nice guy, and I too enjoyed his man-hug with Jaime.

So that WAS Av*?? Too funny. I knew he looked familiar, but I could not place him. Seeing people out of context often throws me for a loop.

Which also explains why I didn't realize that Priscilla The Grifter was Regina from Mundo De Fieras until someone else pointed it out.

I also noticed during the awards show that there weren't any seat-fillers. It was only recently that I knew there was such a thing. Now when I see empty seats at an awards show, it's quite jarring!

Patricia Navidad mostly recently tied up in a corset on LFMB looked like a "hooker" off Burbon Street at the TV y Novelas award show..Don't these people look in a mirror before doing the catwalk for the world to see?

Jaime Camil seems to be confused with Fernando on LFMB. He is not Mr. Fashion Statement.Who puts on a pair of white shoes with an Armani suit.??. Jeez..

I can walk into a restaurant here in Florida and see enough polyester pants and white shoes to start bonfire..Enough of the white patent shoes and blue poly sports coats of the 70's..

Off the awards show topic but my local paper says that DA will be two hours long on Thanksgiving and so does my cable on line listings. Usually holidays show us some old beauty pagent or musical tribute. I can't help wondering if this will be real stuff or recaps to date. I'm in Mountain Time here in Arizona.

We have 10 nights left according to the esmas outline and that includes the 2 hr finale. Thanksgiving is an 11th night and so I'd say it will be 2 repeats of key episodes.

Hopefully there won't be any of those annoying half-hour episodes, splitting the hour with the new telenovela like they did with LFMB.

If Thanksgiving is recaps it might not be all bad since I came full time watching late so missed some of the early stuff. JuanQ is also set for two hours so AR dans are out in the cold.

Drat I meant fans not dans. If on the other hand if it is recaps i might just watch all those episodes of Cane I have taped.
