Pecados Ajenos

Is anyone out there watching Pecados Ajenos on Telemundo?

I wish I could get Telemundo. Here in the heartland, we're lucky to get Univision on cable.

Hi, I have been watching it since the first night and have seen most of the episodes. I think it is pretty good and it is interesting that it is produced and filmed in Florida. Since I am currently watching six telenovelas, I am looking forward to the end of a couple of them but Esclava Isaura looks like the only one I will lose soon since Destilando will be replaced by Pasión.

We don't get Telemundo here. Hint, I wasn't very happy when we were trying to recap all 3 Univision shows plus Zorro - it spread our resources very thin.

Destilando Cafe-I dunno what part of the heartland is your home, but I get both of those, plus Galavision and some others. The first two (Univision and Telemundo) I get free with basic cable and at a low charge, in that order, so I get them both. The others would be nice but I don't want to pay that much more.

Melinama, thanks for that hint. Point taken.

I started watching it because La Esclava Isaura is ending, and I wanted something to take its place and really don't like anything on Univision at this time. I can't really watch more than one telenovela at a time, so I will drop it the minute Pasion starts and then check back to watch the ending.

The beginning of Pecados Ajenos was cool, but I'm getting more lukewarm on it now. It's hard to find characters I like. The lead actress, Lorena Rojas, is beginning to annoy me, and Mauricio Islas seems a bit young for the part. Sonya Smith's role is too one dimensional. In fact, I am having a problem with all of the villains, which abound in this one. One interesting thing -- I live in Chicago, and a couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for this telenovela on the side of a city bus. This is really unusual. Telemundo, which is much smaller than Univision, must be trying hard to increase viewership in the US. The English captioning, which began with Zorro and is continuing, is probably helping a lot.

In general I don't watch the telenovelas on Univision. I personally prefer those on Telemundo and Telefutura. Those from Colombia on Telefutura are often quite good. One recent one, "Hija del Mariachi" (yes, mariachis in Colombia!) was excellent. I was really sorry to see it end, and that is rare. I'm often grateful when they finally end. Generally, I think they drag on too long. The beginning may be good, the ending may be great, but there is this long period in the middle where they really get bogged down. That's generally when I start looking to see if something better is starting and jump ship.

Here in the twin cities we get Uni and Gala with the second tier of Direct TV. I think we used to get Telemundo but somehow it disappeared and now there is a Latino shopping channel.

Margaret, I am totally confused about the difference between Galavision and Telefuturo. We used to get Galavision here in Chicago, then all of a sudden it was Telefutura. Someone on this blog said that what is Galavision in Mexico is now Telefutura in the US, and that Galavision is no longer broadcast in the US. But then you should not be getting Galavision. And I wonder if they are broadcasting the same things. Both seem to be connected with Univision in some way. If you go to the Univision website you'll find both of them, but I can't seem to find lists of their programming so I can see if they are the same.

Excuse me for changing the subject, but for all you Diana Bracho fans (Bertha from Heridas de Amor), I just read that she has signed onto a new telenovela co-starring with Adela Noriega. Diana will play a villainess, hoorah!! That's all I know about it, but with Diana and Adela I'm very hopeful. The producer is Salvador Mejia.

Anon 4:45 I'm here to tell you there's Galavision where I live, and Telefutura, too. But maybe the same company owns them both. Stuff happens. (I don't get them; they cost extra).

Karen, I am still watching very sporadically. I still don't know what they main plots are. Cheryl, could you summarize it in a few words?

Dear Ninak, in a few words, huh? That'll be a trick but here goes. Natalia is a rich beautiful woman with a domneering mother-in-law who has managed to take over Natalia's inheritance, two spoiled kids and a drunken husband. One of her best friends plots to have her discovered (by the whole bunch at once) in bed with another man. He is a rake who is in on the plot which includes faking his death. Natalia must then go into hiding to avoid being charged with murder. She and her true best friend are on a car wreck and the 2 women fake her death so she can hide. The family has a big funeral and the fake best friend makes moves to marry the drunken husband whom she has always wanted ($$ not love, I think).
Natalia gets a great job in an office run by Adrian and his partner with her real best friend. Adrian has an insanely jealous wife and two confused/spoiled kids. So....the inevitable is that Natalia and Adrian get involved. and many struggles ensue.
One funny part is that last week three or four of the main women characters discover they are pregnant with various impactada results. This week started out with Natalia getting a meeting with her son (high school age) who knew she was alive and he has just confessed that he is gay. Mom is impactada as you might expect but very supportive and loving. The wicked mother-in-law is being seduced by the wicked friend's real lover who clearly wants only money (and a bit of sex on the side isn't bad).
So, is all that clear?? HA.

Oh, and Ninak, there are several subplots that weave in and around these main stories. I didn't go into all of them to save time. I like that there are lots of high school age kids attached to the various adults, since I am a tutor for ESL classes at the high school nearest me. I enjoy the exuberance and energy they generate. I even remember having exuberance and energy...

Thank you do much, Cheryl! That really helps. I will have to figure out the names of the characters now, but I will have a start. last week I saw when Marianna Torres found out she was pregnant. I tend to refer to her as Gaby from Acorralada.

I still refer to Gaby and Fidiota from Acorralada days as well.

Thanks, Cherylnewmex, for bringing us up to speed. I missed the first two weeks and got confused if Charlie was or was not Rogelio's son. I know in "reality" he is the spawn of Fake Friend and Evil Manuel, but apparently Rogelio doesn't question the fact Charlie is his kid. Apparently Fake Friend and Rogelio were an item before Rogelio hooked up with Natalia? I guess the whole dang family has taken advantage and used Natalia and her money...

I'm certainly more hooked on this show than Amar.
