Pecados Ajenos

Melinama, thanks for that hint. Point taken.

The beginning of Pecados Ajenos was cool, but I'm getting more lukewarm on it now. It's hard to find characters I like. The lead actress, Lorena Rojas, is beginning to annoy me, and Mauricio Islas seems a bit young for the part. Sonya Smith's role is too one dimensional. In fact, I am having a problem with all of the villains, which abound in this one. One interesting thing -- I live in Chicago, and a couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for this telenovela on the side of a city bus. This is really unusual. Telemundo, which is much smaller than Univision, must be trying hard to increase viewership in the US. The English captioning, which began with Zorro and is continuing, is probably helping a lot.
In general I don't watch the telenovelas on Univision. I personally prefer those on Telemundo and Telefutura. Those from Colombia on Telefutura are often quite good. One recent one, "Hija del Mariachi" (yes, mariachis in Colombia!) was excellent. I was really sorry to see it end, and that is rare. I'm often grateful when they finally end. Generally, I think they drag on too long. The beginning may be good, the ending may be great, but there is this long period in the middle where they really get bogged down. That's generally when I start looking to see if something better is starting and jump ship.

Natalia gets a great job in an office run by Adrian and his partner with her real best friend. Adrian has an insanely jealous wife and two confused/spoiled kids. So....the inevitable is that Natalia and Adrian get involved. and many struggles ensue.
One funny part is that last week three or four of the main women characters discover they are pregnant with various impactada results. This week started out with Natalia getting a meeting with her son (high school age) who knew she was alive and he has just confessed that he is gay. Mom is impactada as you might expect but very supportive and loving. The wicked mother-in-law is being seduced by the wicked friend's real lover who clearly wants only money (and a bit of sex on the side isn't bad).
So, is all that clear?? HA.
Thanks, Cherylnewmex, for bringing us up to speed. I missed the first two weeks and got confused if Charlie was or was not Rogelio's son. I know in "reality" he is the spawn of Fake Friend and Evil Manuel, but apparently Rogelio doesn't question the fact Charlie is his kid. Apparently Fake Friend and Rogelio were an item before Rogelio hooked up with Natalia? I guess the whole dang family has taken advantage and used Natalia and her money...
I'm certainly more hooked on this show than Amar.
