Amar Sin Limites: Thursday December 13, 2007--"Where Azul's living it up in the country & Caty's bracelets are all the rage!!"

We start the episode today with a little overlap from yesterday. Diego sees visions of Azul in the window, telling him to find her. Azul wanders around, hugs a tree, and wonders who she is.

Caty comes out and tells Diego she can’t sleep because she’s worried about her Mami being lost. She’s probably hungry and cold. Diego comforts the moppet.

Arnaldo goes to visit Ceci and he sees she is upset. He thinks it is because she didn’t get the modeling job. Ceci tells him how much Azul means to her and then she breaks the terrible news about Azul’s disappearance.

Luis goes looking for Azucena (from here out to be called Azulcena when referring to the amnesiatic version of Azul).

Clemi and Lidia talk about how short life is and how you need to live it to the fullest, especially where love is concerned. Clemi urges her daughter to reach out to Tavo, but Lidia tells her mom that she’s sure he hates her right about now.

Luis finds Azulcena and he assures her that he won’t leave her alone and will help her to get her memory back. She hugs him and tells him that she feels secure whenever he’s around. She asks if he thinks she’s some sort of criminal and he tells her that his heart tells him she’s a good person.

It is apparently the next day and a crowd has gathered chez Diego. Diego is mad because he learns that Ceci spilled the beans about Azul to Arnie. Arnie is mad because he wasn’t told sooner about his sister. Diego tells Arnie he’s going to find Azul, leaving no stone unturned in the process. Clemi asks Arnie & GSD to forgive Diego for w/holding the news. GSD expresses concern for Caty—such a short life and so much tragedy.

Diego goes to see the cops. He talks to Det. Lopez about the possibility of Azul being alive. Diego doesn’t believe she was in the car and there was something about the way that Mo answered his “is she dead” question that leaves him hopeful. Lopez talks about the ashes, forensic stuff, and all his years in the homicide department. Diego asks him if he’s trying to say there are no miracles.

Azulcena and Luis are up the next morning and the cows have been milked. Azulcena is sitting on a bale of hay and drinking fresh milk, conveniently in a glass carafe. Luis warns her the milk hasn’t been pasteurized. She glugs from the carafe anyway and gives the viewing audience her best “got milk” mustache—which actually is more like a beard on her, but I digress. She gives Luis a seductive look as milk dribbles down her chin. Not the greatest seductive ploy, but Luis seems to dig it. At this point, I’ll digress again—hasn’t Azulcena shown a remarkable appetite, could it be that she is preggers? They were trying after all. How Grey's Anatomy would that be-a doctor falling for a pregnant amnesiatic woman?

A nun comes to visit Diego from the community where Azul did her volunteer work. She pays her respects and gives Diego a statue of the Angel Gabriel. Clemi and Diego thank her and tell her that is it beautiful. The nun has to add that Gabriel is the patron saint of childbirth (refer back to my previous paragraph). Not exactly an appropriate time to bring this up, but oh well. Her comment gives Diego a pained expression. The nun says the community will be praying for Azul to rest in peace and Diego says they should pray to God for helping him find her. Diego shows the crowd the statue and Julio also says it is beautiful. These men in fashion really don’t have good taste in my humble opinion. Diego laments about their plans to have children and how Azul wanted to give him many little rugrats.

Meanwhile, her memory loss has led her into the arms of another man. Luis’s mother catches him in an almost kissing situation with Azulcena.

Chuco and Gloria are hanging out at the boutique; making sure things are going well. Chuco gushes at Gloria about how she’s the woman of his life. Gaspar comes in and scolds them for something. (?)

Silvana has now joined the crowd at Diego’s and she starts blathering on and on. Ceci’s had enough and she goes to find Caty. They play nicely together and Caty gives Ceci one of her precious hand-made bracelets.

Azulcena’s bracelet breaks and she gets very upset. Luis’s mommy assures her they can rebuild it. Luis offers to help and he and Azulcena exchange a caress.

The crowd at casa Diego discuss arrangements for Azul. He flips out and yells at them that there will be no wake or funeral mass. He gives the camera his best angry breathing look. We know he’s really upset. Silvana whines that she only wanted to help, but since it isn’t wanted, she’s leaving. Way to turn it all back to you, Silvana. Clemi scolds Diego and he goes to apologize to Silvana. She gives him a lecture about how Caty needs him now more than ever, but it seems like he’s checked out to never, never land with all this non-sense about looking for Azul. Diego assures her Caty’s well-being is of the utmost importance to him. Silvana whines that she has rights to Caty because her real mother was Silvana’s best friend. I feel like I’m back in sixth grade as I listen to her “I’ve known her first” logic. She tells Diego she has to leave and turns to go. He stops her and she gets satisfied smile on her face (to the camera, her back is to Diego). She wipes off the smile turns back to him and goes in for the hug.

Lidia looks for Tavo at Efrain’s shop. He fills her in--- Tavo’s left because he opened up his own repair shop. The two discuss Diego and Azul a bit.

Luis fixes Azulcena’s bracelet (he knows how to use a needle and thread!). Mommy (who actually looks to be about the same age as her son) tells him he needs to be careful because it’s obvious that Azulcena likes him, A LOT. He tells his mother it wouldn’t be ethical for them to get involved, seeing as she’s got amnesia. He says they are going to head out soon to see a doctor in town. Mommy goes and has a sit down with Azulcena. She asks her what her hopes and dreams are (good topics of conversation to have with someone who’s got AMNESIA). Azulcena doesn’t know. “Well describe your principe azul.” Azulcena gets a little freaked by the word azul, but then goes on to describe her ideal man: noble, hard working, good-looking, loves kids. A description of both Luis and Diego---oh what will our poor amnesiatic heroine do with this tangled up triangle?

Lidia finds Tavo at his shop. He tells her he knew she’d show up one day. “You did?” She’s surprised. He says that “Yeah, once she found out he’s got his own business, he knew she’d come sniffing around.” Lidia is all offended because that’s what he thinks of her.

Diego comforts Caty and Silvana butts in---she reminds me of one of those people (mothers-in-law) who love to dish out advice right after you have a baby---they think they’re “helping” but all they are doing is annoying you. However, no one on this show seems to be annoyed by Silvana (well except Ceci). Diego tells everyone he’s going to spend time with Caty, but he’s also going to search for Azul. Silvana offers to help. When Clemi gets Silvana alone she asks why Silvana is feeding into Diego’s crazy ideas of searching for Azul. Silvana admits she still loves Diego and now that Azul is gone, she wants to be the one he turns to when he’s ready to love again. Clemi thinks this is a good thing; Diego will need Silvana when he’s ready to redo his life. I think it is pretty sick for a woman to set her sights on a man who’s ‘dead’ wife isn’t even cold and then his mother thinking it’s a good idea, too? Sheeesh!

Luis and Azulcena head out for the doctor appt. Mommy gives Luis a benediction and Azulcena acts like a child and wants one too. Luis tells Mommy that with traffic in the city they’ll be late coming back. Mommy says that perhaps the trip to DF will trigger some memories.

Silvana goes to see Caty. She knows that Ceci got a bracelet and she wants one too (yep, back in the sixth grade). Silvana tells Caty that she wants one just like her mami’s. Caty doesn’t want to do that, but Silvana tells her that she’ll wear it only until Azul comes back and then she’ll take it off. Caty agrees. Silvana bribes her with getting make-up done and going to a photo shoot. Caty is excited. Silvana suggests that Diego should come, too, but Caty will be the one who’s got to ask him. Caty skips off and out of the room and Silvana picks up Azul’s headshot photograph sitting on the nightstand and says “you’ll never be back, bau-haha”. Okay, I added the evil laugh, but it would have been perfect to complete the scene.

Lidia and Diego are walking outside and she offers comfort to Diego. It is hard to be without the one you love. Diego asks what’s wrong and Lidia says her problems are nothing in comparison to Diego’s. Diego insists and Lidia tells him about her Tavo troubles. Diego encourages her to go for it—fight for Tavo like he’s going to search for Azul.

Azulcena meets with the doctor—who confirms that she’s had a big blow to the head. She asks about getting her memories and he tells her each case is different. He suggests she surround herself with people, places, and things that will trigger memories. She pouts—but she can’t remember. They discuss the possibility of surgery and then Luis promises to bring her back into the city whenever it is needed.

Lidia finds Tavo and tells him it isn’t his entrepreneurship she’s interested in, it is him. She kisses Tavo and he starts to kiss back.

Diego doesn’t want to go to the fashion shoot with Caty, but Silvana guilts him into doing it for Caty's sake.

Montage of scenes set to “Todo Cambio” by Camila: the fashion shoot where Caty imitates all of Silvana’s moves, Caty and Silvana playing in the park, Diego handing out leaflets w/ Azul’s picture, Silvana & Caty helping with the leaflets (Silvana looks completely bored), Azulcena and Luis caressing a cow (this you had to see in order to believe---it was just too unreal), straw-hat-wearing Azulcena helping to cut the ribbon on Luis’s new clinic.

Diego meets with Lopez again and learns that the investigation is over. The police, using the forensic evidence, have determined Azul to be dead. Diego is heartbroken.

Clemi’s concerned for Diego and his destroyed heart. He tells her he doesn’t need love, he had the love of his life and now she’s gone. The only things important to him now are Caty and work. To Silvana, Clemi says time cures all and Diego will look for love again---and it could be you.

Diego goes in and tells Caty that Azul is up in Heaven. END OF EPISODE

Thanks for the recap Cathy, I have to go back and read the whole week to catch up. I don't know what made me think I could still watch this and Pasion at the same time, I can't even seem to keep up with the RECAPS for this and watch Pasion at the same time. We're getting to the end, though, so I want to see what happens!

Ok now I am all caught up, and let me say, WTF. This show was at a perfectly good ending point last week and they had to stretch it out. Fine, that I can live with, I guess. But then they go for AMNESIA? When I read that part I actually just closed my internet browser for a while and contemplated swearing off of this show immediately. How disappointing. What a horrible decision by the writers, just horrible. I now only read this every day and don't have time to watch, but it actually makes me want to not even read the recaps. But then I realized that the recaps are what make the show worthwhile, so I came back. Look at me, I'm still upset about that turn of events. What a huge copout. Was there more time on the actors' contracts and something had to be done? I'm at a loss.

Great recap Cathy, thanks for picking up Thursdays!

Cathy,
Thanks for the fun recap, if fun is a word one can use to describe this show now. I appreciate your humor and pokes at the characters who deserve all the jeering they can get. I really don't like Silvana in this new villain role, it's almost as bad as when she was begging Diego in tears, the vamp bit doesn't make her quest any nobler for sure.

Lidia is sure sniffing around Tavo now that he has the potential to make money for her to live in the style she wants so much. He seems on to her but turned on by her so there goes his judgement out the window.

I'm glad they are giving art therapy to Caty, making bracelets is much better than having Daddy Mo get all scary and red faced while he shakes her.

I appreciate reading your recap this afternoon, I ran out of tape last night when I went off to a Spanish, El Grupo potluck and came home too late to see it again on cable. So this will help me get ready to recap tonight's episode.

cathy~~~Thanks for the excellent recap. I really like Luis. His mother is the actress who played evil Helene R.'s secretary in ''Mundo de Fieras.'' Silvana is really going in for the kill. I get a kick out of her wearing cocktail dresses while everyone else is pretty casual. She is a piece of work. The new childlike Azul is nicer than the original. I must admit that like Azul, Luis makes me feel protected ...unlike Diego who just makes me feel...uncomfortable. If she's lucky, she'll never get her memory backj, but we all know that she has to end up with Diego at the end. Que lastima...I'd rather have Luis and the cows.
