Guapos: Monday 2/11/08: Brau hatches a plan and Mili gets the man (for now).

It pretty much begins where Friday’s episode left off……Al is kissing Mili when Luci walks in and catches them. She’s upset to find him kissing a servant and Al proclaims that Mili is the girl he loves. Luci demands to know if Al is doing this as a way to get back at her for finding out about her affair with Eugenio. Mili looks back in forth between the two, absorbing everything that’s being said. Luci goes on and tells Al that he can’t be serious. Just because he’s angry doesn’t give him the right to try to humiliate her. Al replies that she’s doing a good enough job of humiliating herself. This puts Mili over the edge. She accuses of Al of once again using her for one of his little games. He did this all to get even with his mother and she tells him to go to Hell. She runs out of the room and Al attempts to go after her, but Luci stops him.

Damien has taken Karla to the abortion clinic and he tells her to go in and get rid of the baby. She starts to spout on about them getting married and Damien lays it all out for her. She can’t be so stupid as to believe he would marry her. She’s a servant. Karla threatens to tell either Connie or Luci about the baby. Damien asks her if she knows what happens to servants who get knocked up?---they disappear. He goes on to say that both she and her mother will end up on the streets, unemployed. Karla admits that she’s really not pregnant, she said that she was as a means to find out what Damien felt for her. Now she knows what she’s worth to him.

Socorrito and Horacio are in Xochimilco (I think). They are flirty with each other, but nothing really happens. Socorrito tells Horacio about her hopes that Karla will find a decent guy---she lists all the characteristics of a good man and Horacio claims she’s described him. They talk about Karla some more and Horacio says that as long as money is the most important thing for Karla, she’ll never find this guy.

Luci tells Al that she’s tired of pretending, all she has wanted is to be happy and feel important. She’s never felt this way married to Connie. Soon, alcohol became her only refuge. She knows it wasn’t right to sneak around with Eugenio and it was hard. He left for Italy because she decided to stay in DF. She stayed because of Al and Val. Her children are the only important things in her life. She’s willing to sacrifice her needs as a woman in order to be a mother. Al tells her that if she’ll be happy with Eugenio and if she really loves him, she should be with him. Al only wishes his mother to be happy and since life has given her a new opportunity she should take it. She deserves some happiness. Luci is moved by her son’s comments and she mutters that Connie does not deserve to have a son like him.

Meanwhile, across town…Bobby comes home with his bruised face. Melina wants to know what happened and he admits that he and Al got into a fight. Melina figures out it was because of Luci and Eugenio. Bobby tells his mother something is strange….if Eugenio left for Italy for Luci, then why is Luci still here? He figures his father actually left because Melina and Connie have something going on. Melina tries to deny it and Bobby tells her that Al told him that he caught Melina and Connie kissing at the office. Bobby is upset and tells his mother that he’ll be moving out of the house. Melina tries to stop him, to no avail.

We are treated to the gratuitous shot of Val in her swimsuit lounging by the pool. She’s listening to a tape of her secret admirer (which sounds so much like Bobby, I can’t believe Val hasn’t figured it out). Morgan-Rocky (Morcky?) is watching her from a distance.

Braulio and Regina discuss the new detective she’s hired. He’s found nothing and Regina is upset. Brau asks why she thought the results would be any different from all of the detectives she’s hired over the last 18 years.

Al shows up to play soccer and Padre Manuel ambushes him. He wants to know if Al believes in God. He wants Al to make a vow before God stating that he’ll keep away from Mili. Al says he can’t make that promise, but instead he will promise to fight to make Mili happy. To love her and make her love him. He intends to offer her a new live. Al leaves PM, and the priest is upset to think that Al might get involved with his “sister.” He has a conversation with God….he knows he promised to keep quiet to protect the family, but now he believes he’ll have to break that promise in order to protect the family from further problems.

Brau meets with Connie and they rehash Rosario’s leaving. Does Brau blame Connie, because Connie didn’t run her off, she took off on her own. They switch to discussing Regina. Brau says they’ve got to put a stop to her searching for Rosario and the kid. It is making her depressed. Connie wonders how they’ll do this and Brau suggests that they kill off Rosario. Connie wants Brau to explain. He suggests that they lie to Regina by telling her that they’ve known for years that Rosario is dead, they’ve just kept it from her to protect her. Connie asks about his child and Brau makes a comment that it is the first time Connie has referred to his sobrino as his child. Brau suggests they say that the child was never born. Connie seems to agree to the plan and they get Lina to feed Regina some info. Regina takes the bait and heads out of her room. She overhears a conversation between Brau and Connie where they act out their lie. She demands to know what’s going on….Brau plays the part of wanting to tell her the “whole truth” and Connie’s role is the one wanting to hold back the info. Finally they spill the “truth” to her and she’s devastated. She tells Connie that the sad thing is with Rosario dead, he can never ask for forgiveness for what he did. Unless, when he dies, he ends up in the same place as Rosario, then he can ask forgiveness. Her tone as she says this implies that she doesn’t think that Connie has a snowball’s chance of ending up someplace other than the fiery pits of hell.

Luci calls Eugenio in Italy. This time she actually gets to speak to him. She tells him that she realized Connie lied and that she misses him. He urges her to come join him in Rome. She asks him to forgive her for doubting him, but she can’t leave. She hangs up on him and then starts to think about what Al said to her about deserving to find happiness.

Padre Manuel tries to talk Mili into coming back to the convent. They play their soccer game (Al shows up to play goalie and Mili isn’t happy). They win the game and Al asks Mili if she’ll give him a victory hug. Padre Manuel intercedes.

Damien and Karla return home and he tells her that he wants her out of his sight. Luci encounters him in the foyer and she tells him she’s going to Rome. Damien thinks she’s crazy and she launches into a rant about her life, her father not wanting a single mother for a daughter, her comfort in a bottle, how she’s never been happy with Connie, blah, blah, blah. She ends up crying and Connie catches them in the middle of the conversation. He later tries to find out from Damien what was going on, but Damien doesn’t tell (probably because there wasn’t an offer of money).

Mili slips in and offers up a prayer of thanks to God for winning the game. She then asks God to help her keep her heart locked and safe from the guapo. Al overhears the whole thing and he tells Mili that what he said earlier about her being the girl he loved, well that’s true. He wants her to be his novia. Mili pulls Al out of the church and jumps on him and kisses him (I guess the answer it yes). Al tells her that he’ll convince his family that she’s the girl for him and then he questions her relationship with Hugo. She tells him that she cares of Hugo, but just as a friend. Mili then asks Al to assure her that this isn’t another one of his cruel jokes and he tells her it isn’t. He asks Mili to go out to eat with him, and she says that how they are dressed they’d have to go to the taco stand.

Lina finds Karla crying in the maids’ room and she goes to tell Socorrito.

Luci calls Andrea and has her make arrangements for a meeting the next day. Andrea calls Al and he’s to the point with her. She’s ticked he dumped her.

Socorrito goes to try and talk to Karla. Karla lets her know it is over with Damien, but that she in no way intends to end up like her mother wearing a uniform for the rest of her life. Socorrito is hurt by her daughter’s words, but she’s relieved that her affair with Damien appears to be over.

Connie shows up at the apartment as Andrea is finishing packing. He tells her she can stay, he was just angry and now that she’s broken it off with Al, there’s no need to be angry. She reminds him that Al was the one to break it off and she’s still leaving the apartment. She tells him she’s got a place to go and she’s only taking her personal things. Connie thinks she’s bluffing and then Andrea says that Regina has offered her a room at the mansion. Connie likes this idea, that way Andrea will be close. Andrea says that there is no way that Luci will let him near her. Andrea then tells Connie about Luci’s meeting the next day.

Al and Mili went shopping for new clothes and then out to eat at a nice restaurant. He orders champagne and Mili guzzles it down like she’s attending a frat party. She gets schnockered after two glasses and passes out on the table (not before committing a couple other dining-out faux pas during the meal). Al carries her out of the restaurant. Gets her home and tucks her into Lina’s bed (glad to see he didn’t struggle to get her into the top bunk). Karla is awake and makes some rude comments (she's just a hater). Al puts her in her place and asks Lina (who’s come out of the bathroom, I guess) to take care of Mili.

Andrea moves into the Belmonte mansion and is welcomed by Val. Luci is shocked to find out that Andrea’s moved in. She warns her that she’s getting into the lion’s den living in the same house as Connie. END OF EPISODE

Thanks for the recap, Cathy. Do you think we are going to have the big reveal soon? Does Braulio know about Mili?

Thanks for the recap.... : )

I dont think Mr Gloves know about Mili, if he did i bet you he would rub this illicit infor allover Constancio whenever Rosario is mentioned. ; )

Val actually told bobby that her chauffeur was send her the love messages QUE THE HELL.
yo all have a nice day,,,, : )

I wish Luciana would just make up her mind about whether she's going or not. I don't really think she's all that in love with Eugenio, but he'd at least treat her better than Constancio.

Now I see where Alejandro gets it from (I like Mili, no I was kidding, no I love her, no it was a joke, no I really luuuuuurve her).

Thank you for the recap!!

I had thought of Damien as a weak guy, but not a mean guy. Boy, was he a pill in this episode!

Damain goes on the hate list which is now considerably longer then the like list which has about a handful of people left on it. Al was cute with Mili and not embarrassed with her naco behavior in the restaurant.

I wonder why Mr. Gloves was so anxious to put Regina's dream to rest? Does he know his sister is still alive(if she is)? Hmmmmm looks like the big reveal is going to be awhile in coming since the previews show Mili finding the skank in Al's bed. It is obvious that yesterday's little interlude is probably the last time this pair will be happy for months of our viewing time.

Oh yeah and I think we will be adding Hugo to the s**t list if he wasn't already there.

It seems odd to me that Regina has been cooped up in her room obsessing about Rosaria for 18 years now, and Braulio just now thinks it’s time to figure out a way to snap her out of it.

I know Mili is supposed to be spirited and independent, but I don't get how she was raised by nuns and yet apparently has no awareness of proper manners to draw upon when the occasion calls for them.

Andrea moving in? Good grief. It's always a good idea to move in with the family of a man who tried to fire you/dump you/throw you out of your apartment/use you to torment his not-son/choke you. In the estados unidos, skank that she is, she would have the hugest freaking harassment case ever and never worry about money again.

Thanks Cathy, wonderful recap! Mili has grown on me, I find her endearing now (along with annoying still sometimes!). And Al was very sweet and tender with her - I have hope for him! The rest of the family (except Regina) needs some serious smacking.
