Pasión de Gavilanes - Fri, May 30 - Franco doesn't know how to be a patron so its Juan and Óscar to the rescue!
I liked the Indian Savage guy. I loved Pepita coming to dinner at the Elizondo's and charming Málcom. And what are Pepita' given names? What a mouthful.
And Monday Norma's baby is born! Wow!
Labels: gavilanes
Jean, sometimes they show previews for the whole week on Friday, so we might not get our baby birth right away. Still, I too am looking forward to it ;)
This was one of my favorites as well. I got a kick of Juan and Oscar smacking their kid brother around and telling him to stand up for himself. It was much like a shirt I own which reads "The floggings will continue until morale improves." Still, it did the trick for them 'cause the kid grew a set. I laughed a lot as he chased his tormentors around after all the grief they caused him. Last time he backed his brothers, and now they're returning the favor.
Now my question is: what will the pecking order be between Eva and Quintina? Both are taking on a "mother hen" role with the boys, albeit in a different way, and I just hope no conflicts arise from that.
Re: Don Martin & Pepita - he is a bit on the randy side, but he also has moments of tremendous depth. I came to really appreciate this particular relationship in the story because as superficial as it seems initially, they become incredibly important to each other, in a very loving way. Both he & Pepita are written larger than life, so I take them with a grain of salt.
Can't wait for next week!
Eduvina was just so apalling and painful to watch! I was thinking she was going to fall off the table and break her neck, but I guess a heart attack does the job just as well. I guess I wasn't too forward thinking, but until she got on the table I hadn't thought about Franco inheriting everything from her.
This one is a fun challenge for me since watching on YouTube I don't get subtitles and can't rely on a recap to fill in the holes. I like having to rely on my own comprehension.
And thanks Marie Celeste for the missing links!
