Caray, Caray!

Simon is supposed to be the hot-blooded guy who acts first and probably (mostly not) thinks later. His father is a deadbeat dad who took off and left the family when the boys were very young. This guy is definitely one of those 'filler' characters who serve absolutely no purpose in the show.
 

Who is Nina ?
 

It doesn't seem worth it to do a separate posting for Thursday's episode. The good news is that we seem to have gotten rid of Nina (she is Isabel's mother in law) and replaced her with her sister, Rebeca, who seems (so far anyway) to be a nice, helpful person.

Mario is still a campesino although they seemed to have taken the Vaseline off the camera lens when he is on.

At the end of yesterday's episode, Ángela overheard Isabel say that she has a lover and she runs off to tell Andrés about it - bad move.
 

Thanks for the shots and Summary Jean =) Nina is indeed a "ray of sunshine." I did a little happy dance when Isabel (actually her daughter, not DIL) kicked her out. I'm liking Rebeca, though I wonder if she's for real. She seems a little too nice.

cc - Simon has a purpose, albeit, a superficial one, he's to run around scantily clad any time they can come up with an excuse.
 

I'm gradually getting used to the camped-up style of this show, but there are still a few things I'm not quite taking in stride, the wardrobe being one.

Regarding Nina vs. Gaetana for worst dressed, I vote for Angela. ;-) Seriously. I agree with the comment made earlier that Gaetana's wacky wardrobe fits her character. To me, Nina's clothes just seem ill-suited and awful so she gets my vote as the worse of the two. However, Angela really takes the cake. For a wealthy young woman who has supposedly been living in Europe, they've given her incredibly bad taste. Between the hair & makeup, the boots, the cowboy hat & the shrug sweaters, she's a living fashion "don't". Not surprisingly, I guess, Isabel isn't far behind her. I'd be curious to know how she dressed for the office when she worked for PJ. (Silly question...)

As far as good dressers go, my vote goes to Abigail. The men are generally ok, Salvador Cerinza being the obvious exception. The multiple slashes in his baggy pants don't speak too highly of his machete skills. No wonder he always seems to be working the fields alone. ;-)

What was up with Valeria & the black veil? Talk about overly dramatic. I didn't feel the need to run around in a black veil when I had chicken pox! ;-) It undoubtedly saved time in the makeup chair & perhaps allowed Diana Osorio to leave the set for lunch without causing public panic, something the "pox" makeup might have stirred up. ;-)

I was soooo happy to see Nina go, but I'm a little surprised that it was Isabel that gave her the boot. For wanting to hurry up the process of PJ's demise, seems it would be better to keep Nina around. Then again, maybe she was more than even Isabel was willing to put up with to achieve that end. I'm glad for the addition of another positive character, but I agree, Margarita, that Tia Rebeca seems almost too nice. We'll see if she stays that way.

Speaking of too nice, as slimy as Andres Corona is, I do enjoy watching Martin Karpan. He has one of the most compelling faces I've seen in a long time. Andres Garcia seems to play the same character in every show he's in but I'm enjoying him also. I actually believe he's playing the piano in his scenes. (Don't know if he really plays or not, but it looks good!) Too bad he'll be outta here before too long...

In the few scenes we've seen of Salvador Cerinza, I've had to laugh at the grunting, kinky-lipped Neanderthal he seems to be. Never thought looking at Mario Cimarro would make my skin crawl, but as SC, I get pretty close to it. ;-)
