Fuego en la Sangre, Tuesday 9/16 (#100) And you and you and you are NOT Rosario's mother!

Hi everyone Bridget again in for Cheryl. It's been really hard watching these past few days with the dragging, groveling, forgive me storyline. Look I think I just finished the recap for this evening. Ah if it was only that simple so let's get started.

As Sofia opens the doors to the balcony Juan is outside waiting for her. After a quick make out session Juan and Sophia which I thought was maybe the beginning of the "I forgive you" storyline started the same argument. You've deceived me, how could you do this. Sophia has decided that she would raise Juanny Jr. by herself. Juan stakes claims as his right as a father and she better not forget it. Libia was innocent, Bernardo was at fault. The twist here is that Sophia has mentioned that her father was going to leave them for Libia. Fernando said so. Juan doesn't buy especially since she heard it from Feo. How can Sofia believe anything that Fernando said. Her grandfather believes that Feo was the cause of Bernardo's death but Sophia doesn't believe it. Grandpappy is always talking crazy things. (Didn't she always have a high regard for her grandfather? She really is turning into her mother). Juan tells her that she should pay more attention to her Grandfather because he's wise and always light years ahead of all them. They continue bickering how one changed the other. (I decide to catch a quick nap in the process) I can't forget the times we had together but yet I just can't forgive you. I'll never stop loving youuuuuuuuuuuuu.... but you lied to me. I'm finally awaken by Juan's "malaya" and the hurling of insults...its your pride... you're... you're just like your mom! With that my husband is gone... I mean Juan is gone.

Rosario is muy impactada with the news that Margarita is her mom. What was the reason of Margarita's abandonment? Her career was more important then being tied down with Rosario (ouch I think that's worse then Gabriela's slaps). Rosario is devastated and while she "congratulates" Margarita and her successful career she doesn't accept/want her as her mom. She prefers Eva over her.

At the Reyes house Franco and Oscar are back and who know where they have been. Quintina asks but doesn't get a real answer. Tristando, I'm not sure of the translation but I'm assuming is lamenting? Tio Vicente explains that he out and about and decided to take a serenade to the Elizondo girls and as he was telling Juan he also knows who Gabriela is. That even their parents knew who she was and that they even spoke of her. Hmmm interesting.

Crabby has demanded to know where Feo was this evening which he covers up by telling her that he found out that the Reyes have win the judgement for the Hacienda. Feo forewarns Gabriela and how she should be careful because they're coming after the lands. We now know that the lands are valuable because of the water that supplies it. Feo says not to worry he's wasn't going to abandon her, he'll help. But Gabriela has reminded Feo that she doesn't need his help. She has always struggled to get ahead she didn't need his help then and she doesn't need it now. Feo wants to know why is she so mad ... to which she replies "because the past has come back to surprise me" and she throws him out. Back in his room Feo is admiring the snake belt and places it in the his dresser. He getting sick of Crabby and when he gets everything he wants he's going to throw her out. He figures she's upset because of the Reyes.

Juan was finally given the good news to Oscar and Franco. The Hacienda Uribe is back in their possession. But the hardest part is regaining their lands back from Gabriela.

At breakfast the next day Sofia is wondering where her grandfather is and Gabriela explains that he was not welcomed to the house unless she invites him. Sophia decides she will invite him but is quickly shot down by Gabriela. When you have your own home then you can do whatever you want and invite whomever you want. Sophia sits down when Feo mentions that he is heading to Puebla for some business regarding the hacienda. So is Gabriela however when he suggests they go together she spits back no that he should handle his business and she'll handle hers.

Eva is visiting with Mr. August and he has invited her to breakfast. And while he still hasn't forgiven her, he wanted to talk to her. He doesn't understand why she wants to leave and how was she going to abandon Rosario. She explains that Rosario is not her daughter. Mr. August is muy impactado. (We get a small glimpse of Rosario at the Bad Love Bar trying to get over the shock of discovering who her real mom is). Eva explains the situation further to Don Agustin. Rosario is in the Hacienda (what the? How did that happen? Maybe there's some kind of underground tunneling). She has been explaining her sadness to Sophia. Eva is not her real mother.

Juan has just shared the good news to Pedro. They have regained possession of the hacienda. Juan has asked Pedro to stay but he kindly refuses and tells Juan that El Jefe (Pedro's father) is turning himself in. (I seriously don't get this storyline. In fact only last week I thought that El Jefe was going to be of some help to the Reyes and the quest of the holy grail [lands]. Its hard to see El Jefe such a wuss now...let's see if Feo finds out).

Rosario is retelling her sad story to Sophia while Gabriela looks on. (I dislike this in any novella...how can you not see the person standing to the side of you listening in on your conversation!). Sophia is trying to reason with Rosario about her decision and how she should not shut out Margarita. Sophia explains that while her own mother has treated her poorly she still tries to understand her. Gabriela is cackling in the foyer with a look of 'Gawd Sophia you are such a putz'. (Omg finally a LOL moment!). Rosario understands what Sophia is telling but she still doesn't know what to do.

Eva is asking Rosendo about the girls but Gabriela interrupts them. Gabriela has decided to add more salt to Eva's wound. She's never going to find out who her real daughter is. (This was a perfect opportunity to slap Gabriela and scream CANALLA!!). Instead Eva prays. Meanwhile Sophia is remembering all the good times and special moments she has shared with Eva and sets out to look for her.

Raquel is furious with her husband and the loss of the hacienda. Benito asks her what she's going to do. Raquel can't do anything and she only has a few days to get out. Benito plans to close El Tumbao and move far away hopefully with Eugenia.

Pedro is happy that his father is going to turn himself in. Just for him ... in order to gain Pedro's love and respect. Pedro thanks Juan for talking to his father. Reyes forever.

Eva is trying to reason with Rosario to accept Margarita. (Why!?) Rosario is dumbfounded how her mother would abandon her for her career. Rosario is also a singer but she would never do that to Luisito (You go girl). Eva tells Rosario that she's (Rosario) a good person and she shouldn't be that way with her real mom. Just then Margarita walks in wanting to speak to Rosario alone.

I guess Sofia is still looking for Eva when Juan and Capricho find her. Don't think I'm following you its only because this is a small town so we're bound to run into each other. Sophia mentions that they got a store front close by and so they should expect to run into each other. Now Juan has mentioned that the dang horse is missing Sophia (I'm slitting my wrists here!). The torment is great between the two. So it's time for some flashbacks.... (Is that Franco and Oscar singing in the background?) .

Back at the Bad Love Bar... I had to rewind this a bit...I could've sworn Rosario was a different shirt and hairstyle... yep I was right. Rosario doesn't understand why Margarita is looking for her and much less expecting her to accept her. Margarita tells her that she's being hard on her... Rosario is shocked. What was harder? Leaving me? What if Ofelia hadn't taken her in. She asks Margarita leave to have a properous career and forget she ever had a daughter. Goodbye forever. However before Margarita leaves the cameraman zooms in on Rosario foot. What the heck are we looking at? We're looking for a birthmark...Margarita muy impactada and in disbelief asks out loud for the birthmark.... YOU'RE NOT MY DAUGHTER! The he**? We need a professional to solve Rosario's baby mama drama. Get me Maury Povich!

Coyote wants to know if El Jefe knows what he's going. While Coyote has always obeyed and respected El Jefe he wants to make sure that El Jefe isn't making a mistake. This empire he built doesn't matter as long as he has the respect and love of Pedro.

Juan and Eva meet in the park and you guessed it.... Eva's crying.

Margarita "You're not my daughter!". Good timing says Rosario. And Margarita explains that her daughter was born with a birthmark on her foot ... a birthmark that Rosario doesn't have. Rosario is confused (heck so am I!) Ofelia walks in and Margarita tells her they needed to talk and they needed to talk now.

Eva is teling Juan that Rosario is not her daughter. Meanwhile the human butterfly Rosario has started her show. The Bar Boys have mentioned that Feo wanted to gain some extra money that was previous lost so he's obligated Rosario to do an extra show. However Bar Boys have noticed there's something wrong with Rosario ... she's crying.... blah. While Rosario is doing her show I can't help but noticed her crooked boobs!

Ofelia has explained that Margaritas real daughter was very weak and sickly child. As much as she loved and care for the little girl she was always sick. Perhaps because she missed her real mother. In the end the little girl died.

Puebla

Gabriela is meeting with Bernardo lawyer about the will. The will states that if Sophia does not have a child then 80% hacienda and its lands are Gabriela's. 20% belongs to Don Agustin. So if Sophia doesn't have her baby then no one can claim the inheritance.

Next Time:

There's not much Gabriela can do to stop the birth of Sophia baby, it's too risky. However, she can make it disappear.
TIme is off the essence, the Reyes are coming after the lands.

Great recap, Bridget, thank you. When is Eva going to grow a spine, and stand up to ANYONE? Can't believe that she's still taking anything off Crabi! I'll bet that ifEva took a swing at crabi, that Rosendo would hold Crabi...Crabi is such a horrible person, revelling in the pain of anyone but herself, and blaming the world for the pain that she suffers...Juan telling Sofia that Capricho misses her. Was there some sort of a relationship between them that i'm not aware of?..That is one beautiful horse, I wonder if he isn't EY's own horse, the way that they are together, the way Caprico followed him last nite; if not, he sure is well trained...I'm tired of Rosario being battered around by these women, not knowing who is her mama, and Ofelia letting her go thru all this pain, knowing full well that Marg wasn't. Ofelia has dropped completely off the chart as far a character for me...Where is Ruth!?!

Bridget: Thanks for the recap. Once again, the recap was better than the novela.

When Crabi finds out about Feo and Raquel, that will be one fine day. Did you notice Raquel's wig last night? It was messed up purple. Wardrobe must have been in a hurry.

Somehow I don't think Ofelia has told the whole truth. You'd think that Margarita would have asked for a foot check before she proclaimed that Rosario was her daughter.

Also - I thought Rosi was going to fly across the stage when she was wearing the butterfly wings. Throughout this story she still remains a sympathetic and heroic character.

Thanks for the recap. You know, last night I thought we were finally going to get some lines out of Capricho! "You miss her don't you...?" Capricho??? Capricho???

Well, maybe next time. BTW I read somewhere that Capricho is Vicente Fernandez's horse.

I agree about Rosario, I was getting tired of her being abused by so many different people, but she's started to stand up for herself and has never done anyting evil or really stupid yet, so she's actully growing on me too.

Bridget, thank you for a hilarious recap. I don't understand the Pedro/UniJefe business either. How long is Jefe goiing to be in the can and is El Coyote leaving us now? Oh, no. Also since Juan says it's a small town, you'd think the Reyes boys would have noticed the Elizondo girls during the past 20 something years. It's difficult to foretell the plot when nothing much makes sense...Rosario's foot for example. And Crabi's cackles were so evil last night. G in CA

I think the mystery of how all the women in one age group ended up being raised by Not Mama's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Village_of_the_Damned_(1960_film)

judge for yourselves but I think this explains alot.
"Leave Us Alone"

The actress who plays Crabi should definitely win some kind of award. The other characters are so one-dimensional. The brothers are 3 different types of stupid, the sisters 3 different types of naive and earnest, Eva's always crying, even Feo's pretty unemotional. But Crabi is gleeful, angry, fake sick, really sick, turned on, turned off, cold and calculating, desperate and betrayed, smug (I could go on). I just love it when she's one screen, no matter how evil she is!

That should be "on screen".

Great recap, Bridget, and thank you very much for the time and work you put into it. Well done! Loved your snarky parenthetical asides, too.

I'm going easy on Juan re: Capricio missing Sofia. When my DH is out of town, I tell him the dog and I both miss him. ;o)
I just love Capricio and love to see him walk. Looks like a runway model the way he moves he feet. Did we ever decide what breed horse he is???

Why didn't Rosary ask Margarita who her father is while she had the chance? Not that it would matter, now that we know The Rest of The Story, but I'm just saying ....

I personally think Rosario is being ungrateful and hurting Ofelia as a result, since Ofelia is the one who raised her and loved her. Wake up, Rosario!

doris

Doris, i disagree about Rosario's treatment of Ofelia. Yes, she should be grateful for Ofelia raising her, and I think that Rosy does appreciate that. However, Ofelia has kept the secret of her heritage from her for her entire life, and even let Rosario think that first Eva, then, Marg was her mother. Now she finds out that that those painful revelations were for nothing. Ofelia has permitted a lot of needless pain in Rosy's life, and Rosy is entitled to be pissed

I was also thinking that Ofelia was being treated like chopped liver, but that's a good point, Dorado D. She could have quashed all of that misery a long time ago, but she didn't.

On the other hand...

Two women have claimed Rosario, and both times, Ofelia let them. I believe that she loves Rosario, so there must be a reason she hasn't told the truth yet.

What is she hiding that is so terrible that she'd be willing to allow all of this angst rather than reveal the truth?

By the way, I didn't buy that "she was sickly" story (especially the "because she missed her mother" part). I think she made that up on the spot. If that had been true, I think she would have told Margarita much sooner.

I still see a resemblance in their faces, though.

Maybe she simply had the birthmark removed?

Ofelia had the birthmark (mole)taken off Rosario's foot and transplanted to her upper lip.

Thanks for the recap, Bridget, well done.

When Feo looked at the snake belt buckle, it seemed to glow. More Mexidoon radioactivity, I guess.

Loved seeing Capricho strut down the sidewalk. Some years back, there was a novel written from the point of view of Robert E. Lee's horse, Traveler. I'd like to see some episodes of Fuego done from the viewpoint of Capricho, Mariachi, and the donkey.

Now they've turned Rosario into a bop-a-clown toy punching bag. Wham! Eva's your mother. Wham! The Cumbia Queen's your mother! Wham! No she isn't, your mother's a mystery. Have some pity, please.
La Paloma

Thanks Bridget.

Ha, maybe my friend Jennie will finally believe me - I have always thought that Ofelia is Rosario's real mother but when the other chick showed up - I figured I was mistaken. Now, I'm back in action. I'm dreading the kind of misery they're plotting for the Reyes boys.
I wonder if Sofia ever saw the movie Love Story - because for her love means saying your sorry over and over and over again.

Thanks Bridget, I enjoyed your recap to the max. I agree with Hombre de misterio's assessment of Crabi. She's one fine actress (not to be confused with the evil part she's playing). The fact that everything Feo does is mean, evil and calculating is so predictable until it's getting boring. The girls have gotten on my last nerve. The 3 Reyes are OK, but I wish they'd let Libia and Bernardo rest in peace.

DO YOU THINK OSCAR REALLY GOT HURT WHEN FEO SHOVED HIM DOWN THE STAIRS. HE SEEMS TO BE STRAPPED UP AN AWFULLY LONG TIME IN NOVELA TIME, ESPECIALLY SINCE SOFIA PREGGERS FOR ABOUT 10 MOS. STILL HAS NO BABY BUMP.

WHAT DO YOU THINK...???

ALSO I WANT TO THANK ALL THE RECAPPERS FOR THEIR QUICK AND HARD WORK RECAPPING. WHILE I UNDERSTAND POQUITO ESPANOL, A LOT GETS PAST ME AND YOU WONDERFUL RECAPPERS DO A GREAT JOB FILLING IN MY BLANKS. ANN

What baby does Sophia have????

Either time is t....i...c... k...i..n..g... so slowly, making me want to SCREAM "just get on with it, for Pete's sake" (hey- who's Pete) or that baby is a passing figment.

Forget the baby bump. maybe it got reabsorbed by the self-absorbed Sofie y Juan.

Great recap Bridget. New name for the novela-- When Time Stands Still.

VV.

Thanks for the great (and very funny) recap, Bridget. And, oh hell no, not the stolen baby plot! Please tell me Crabi's not going to get away with grabbing the kid from Sofía's bed right after birth and telling her it died. You know she's probably not going to a hospital in Mexidoon, so Crabi would have plenty of opportunities. Didn't we just see this in Pasión?

I'd like to weigh in with a vocabulary word or idiom. Juan said to Sofía "otra vez la mula al trigo". I've also heard "otra vez el burro al trigo". I love this one. Literally it's: once again the donkey (or mule) is into the wheat. It's used when someone keeps repeating the same thing or asking for the same favor even though it's been denied before. Apologies if this has been explained before on this blog.

I have never liked Ofelia. She's been sneaky from the beginning. I'm starting to think SHE may be Rosario's mother. Not sure why she'd pass the kid off as Margarita's unless she was hiding the shame of an illegitimate birth by saying the kid was someone else's. Remember how huffy she got when Eva tried to approach Rosario? Or maybe she did get the mole removed! But she's mighty possessive of Rosario.

Anon 3:25. I heard Jorge Salinas got hurt rescuing one of the girls on a runaway horse or some such. He does need the neck and arm support.

Attention, please..I am here to help...If any of you viewwers are confused and have not caught the intricate and delicate subtlities of this show, I want to inform you that EVA IS NOT ROSARIO'S MOTHER. I know you're shocked and impactada/o. On a related note : neither is Margarita. Geez, I am really sick of hearing people say the same thing over and over and over and.......over. And , the Mariposa Rosario...What a trooper ....The show must go on, and even though our little butterfly is crying on the inside, on the outside she and her crooked boobs are bumping and grinding. Muy forte, mujer. There really is no business like the show business, verdad ????? Thanks, Bridget for that funny recap.

Eva tolerates Gabriela because she lives in hope that Gabriela will relent and tell her where her child is.And she feels guilty.mhm

Eva is NUTS thinking that Gabi will tell her what she did with her baby. Every time she asks, it only thrills Gabi more to refuse her.

I think Eva would have more luck if she asked Raquel point-blank if she was given her daughter. I don't think she's tried that yet.

Everybody, please watch tonight's episode slowly and savor it, because there won't be a new one until Monday. Tomorrow is the Latino Grammys and Friday is the Guapos Final.

I commented on a past post, that maybe Sofia's spawn will be Thumbelia, if a girl or Tom Thumb, if a boy as that can be the only explanation for her not showing after all these months. Someone else mentioned the Pillsbury Dough Boy might pop out of the oven(Sofia's) cuz nothing says lovin' like something from the oven.

Thanks so much for the recap, Bridget.

Eva must be in incredible shape. Every episode she's trudging back and forth between The House That Time Forgot--waaaaay out in the country--and the town, on foot. And in heels, no less. That's a hell of a lot of walking. Seems like a round trip would take all day. I don't understand how she has time to do anything else.

Anyone else sicker than I am of... "I haven't forgiven you, but I want to talk to you." "I still love you, will always love you, but to be with you es imposible." "The boys are getting their hacienda back? I'm so happy for them, they deserve it, but I hate their guts." ??? Either get over it, or be a hater. Quit straddling the damn fence, folks.

Underground tunneling! LOL

(I seriously don't get this storyline. In fact only last week I thought that El Jefe was going to be of some help to the Reyes and the quest of the holy grail [lands]. Its hard to see El Jefe such a wuss now...let's see if Feo finds out). Gawd, YES.

Yeah, yeah, The Queen of Crucifixes laughing her dried-up butt off while someone cries their misfortune. I'm still waiting for that lightning to strike. (or a real heart attack/infarction/stroke, so people can step over her and advise her to get up and stop faking)

Poor Eva. Back to wearing the old "step on me, I'm a doormat" sign.

If Ofelia is telling the truth about Marg's real daughter dying of illness (and that child isn't still alive), then why introduce another character and such a dead-end tangent in the first place? Can we get on with the plotlines that are going to LEAD SOMEWHERE? Meh!! (I like the birthmark removed by Ofelia idea, Julie)

Yeah, sure, the bar boys are more taken with Rosario looking like she's been crying rather than the way she's wiggling that body. R-I-G-H-T.

The stipulations of Bernardo's ridiculous Last Will and Testament have changed as many times as normal people change underwear. I wouldn't mind a writers' strike right about now.

I LOVE the awesome Capricho.

But we just had a stolen baby plot in the last show! NOooooooo!

My DVR says tonight is the last night of FUEGO until Monday. No Thursday or Friday. Rats.

Anon 5:40, LOL! Poppin' Fresh.

Maybe Rosario's mother is currently on another telenovela, and too busy to visit Mexidoon.

doris

Okay, I just about busted a gut.

I'm sitting at my computer with my back to the TV, and suddenly I hear EY shouting, "Gaviota!" I turned around to see a commercial (on the Azteca America channel) where a woman is getting laundry out of the dryer and is stopped by "Gaviota!!", a woman is coming in with her kids from day care and is stopped by "Gaviota!!!" Then a cashier at a grocer store scans a liter of Coke and happily hears EY give the loudest one yet out of the clear blue sky-- "GAVIOTA!!!!"

I cracked up. What the hell???

There were a bunch of novela DVDs and Coke products on the cashier's little conveyor belt, and one of those grocery divider things with mispremioscocacola.com on it. Turns out My Coke Rewards has teamed up with telenovelas. The ending shot said, "Coca Cola--el lado de las telenovelas."

Out of all the heroes and heroines in NovelaLand, they went with our Yanez. Very cool! And they're not the only ones--during a FUEGO commercial break I saw one for CHIPS'AHOY cookies, where The Cookie and a claymation Gaviota were running towards each other in an agave field, arms outstretched, until the human hand snatched Cookie up and Gavi fell into a plant. ROFL

Advertisers are really into EY these days. :D Mmm-hmm.

Thanks Bridget! We're lucky to have you!

Someone know how to post this recap on the sidebar? Help. And thanks.

I am going to pay very close attention to Ruth's feet once she finally shows up.mhm

It is funny isn't it, that the Reyes boys didn't already know the Elizondo girls, and that we're also supposed to beleive that it's a shocking revelation that Tio Vicente, as well as the dead parents knew Crabiela. After all they lived in the next haicienda over; neighbors for how many years right?

Also weird that Abuelo (or anyone else in the town) wouldn't remember anything about the neighbors getting murdered and leaving their four little kids wandering aound!!

Oh that's right, they were hiding in plain sight because they started going by Reyes instead of Robles Ayyy!

Maybe the Ojo de Agua is magic and makes people forget things, or maybe it's the radioactive snake belt buckle, or maybe it's the chemicals in Raquel Uribe's wig!

Just tagged it for you Bridget. Write to Melinama and she will tell you how...or click on permalink, then hit "tag", put in "caray" and "caray" for password and it will come up for posting. Write in "fuego" and you're done.

Awesome recap, thank you so much! Some of us were posting on yesterdays before this got up.

The writers on insane and think we are stupid. Ophelia thought to herself "that is Rosario's mother" at the Tumbao! Why if she knew it wasn't true??? And who gave Rosario to Ophelia, does the women trade in girl babies? WTF? I think the singer woman, when she was telling Eva about her baby, mentioned the birthmark on the foot.

Loved the "hey, my horse misses you" moment. Really cute way to keep the conversation going. EY does sad puppy face really well, how the freak can that girl say no??

That was Pablo and EY singing in that scene. The three guys sang on the Novella awards and that song has been creeping into the show lately. You can find it on youtube. EY does an okay job, since I don't really think it is his thing. He looks a little uncomfortable.

Two days without this insanity, what shall I do?

How funny, Butter Biscuit Stephe! I haven't seen the commercials - hope I catch one soon...
