Cuidado: Monday 10/3/08- Fill in the Blank.....

Sorry, it was Homecoming this weekend and I was incrediably busy and didn't get a chance to sit down and watch Friday's show until late last night......only to discover that it didn't get recorded. So I am unable to do my recap. Would all of you wonderful readers be able to summarize the show in the comments? Thanks and sorry.

Here's what I remember:

Onelia was a total witch.

JM and Mari sat down for a chat; he mentioned that he talked to her novio. She said, "what novio?" She told him she doesn't want to get married, ever, and he seemed a little taken aback.

JM had Rocio take Mari out to buy some new clothes. She got some jeans, a shirt, and new shoes, all pretty ordinary, but she was quite excited about them. She showed them to JM when they arrived home and even was going to change behind the chair (obviously she is much more comfortable around him than around other men!)...and his (blood pressure) was rising so he excused himself.

While he went to tell Patricio that he couldn't have Mari stay with him, Mari took a shower and got dressed in her new clothes, loving the clean life.

Ceci said Mari could stay with them, which Pat didn't like at first, but eventually he agreed.

JM told Mari she couldn't stay with him any more and she was very upset. He explained...he's single now, she's young and pretty, people will get the wrong (i.e. right) idea...basically spelling it out as much as he could without directly saying he was in love with her. So he drove her to Patricio and Cecilia's place (she was inexplicably back in her urchin clothes) and Mari and Ceci greeted each other warmly.

In other news, a party is being planned for Stef, and she slimed herself all over JM and badgered him into agreeing to attend.

Seems like there were scenes with the artists and neighborhoodies, but I can't remember what happened.

Also,

Stef hated Mari on sight, recognizing her as a rival for JM's affection. She pretended to Ceci that she'll accept her like a sister, but we know otherwise.

Mari and Ceci had some kind of instant connection when they hugged. I believe this is called the "call of the blood" in novela language.

Onelia was gloating to Mari that she had to leave JM's house but Mari held her own, refusing to let Onelia have the satisfaction of seeing her defeated.

I don't know if many people are watching this novela, but I'm really into it now. It's gonna be good!

I really like this new plot twist! Things should really hot up now.

Cathy - don't feel bad about the taping flub. It happened to me on the last show too.

I really enjoyed the first scene where Mari was singing with the TV (great song!). Then Mari and Onelia had a knock-down drag-out fight, ending with Mari having pinned Onelia to the bed. Ha!

Meanwhile, that Stefania girl is a real evil schemer. When she spotted Ceci hugging Mari, she was on her guard, as she knows she is not the real daughter . . .

I think this is getting good too. I don't remember any more parts, but I think we're pretty much up to speed.

I think there was also an incident where JM's cousin was talking to her boyfriend and she let slip she knew Marichuy, so the boyfriend was suspicious of how she was involved with that rowdy crowd. She has some 'splaining to do. I don't remember if that incident was on Friday or Thursday.

Oh! How could I forget Eduardo?!? If I'm not mistaken (somehow I wasn't paying close attention to his scene) he asked Elsa to marry him. The scene cut off there and we never got back to them.

Does anyone know what the song was that Marichuy was singing along with and dancing to? I liked it but didn't look to see if I could read the artist or title on the screen.

The song Marichuy was dancing to is called "Vete Ya" by Valentin Elizalde. Here's a YouTube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0YdPXodPrY

Thanks, Bianca!
