Mañana es para siempre 3/30: the captions reappear and a coffin disappears.

Oh, frabjous day, the captions came back! Schoolmarm, was it your doing? Are they here to stay?

Yesterday: Ed tells Jacinto it must have been Lily who mentioned him, and he has business with her. Also, Erika's maid squeals: "Come look at the present your father brought, it's in the garden." I don't believe we saw the present?

Priscila tells Anibal the doc sez he has vigorous semen! Anibal sez, why don't you go study art in the Sahara Desert?! He sez, if I'm fine, then the "problem" is yours. "No, we are both divine, we're just stressed, sometimes people get that way when they really want a baby ("speak for yourself" he mutters), you need to work less. Relax, do your homework, and if you do - you get off school permanently." (She won't ask him for sex again?) "That should be a good incentive for you!"

Eduardo sobs and rants to the padre, he doesn't want his mother in the Elizalde mausoleum, he wants to be able to go wail and weep over her grave without the undesirable element watching. The padre agrees to his request, warning him he's overwrought.

Ciro and Liliana are playing chess. She says she's worried, the awful Doc has been plying her with flowers and letting her go outside and take less medicine, but he's pressing her to tell him everything she said to Fernanda. "I've got to get out of here and Eduardo is my only hope." "Patience! The white pawn gains strength and will battle the black queen."

Barbara gets Gonzo to speed up the exhumation red-tape. She hopes to regain Fer's trust and also to flush Eduardo from his hiding place.

Fer monologues to her picture of Soledad, Ed and Fer in happier younger days (before Fer's eyebrows got so fierce and plucked). "How you've changed, Ed, your indifference hurts, I can hardly believe there is no affection left. You are so harsh, your love has turned to hate, why?" She hopes when they are face to face he'll be the Eduardo she loves. She kisses the picture and then sadly: "No, it can't be the same - I'm married, and he surely has another woman."

Business looks good at the House of Mud, but the boss is annoyed, the girls aren't getting the customers to consume enough and numbers are down. A bald guy comes in, looks around, says he needs new stimulation not these same old Mud Maidens, and leaves.

Anibal gets home late. Pris bitches about that, then suggests he have some wine to relax. "Don't push me, I want to sleep." He leaves. Pris: "I'll have a child, with you or without you."

Barbara prods Fer for info, after saying she's managed to get Gonzo to speed up the exhumation paperwork. Where is Eduardo? When is he coming? Nobody knows, so let's go forward with the ceremony. "Soon we'll know who wrecked your wedding," Barbara sez kindly. So the plan advances, Gonzo leaves money for flowers and a mass to be said.

Ed finally gets back to the sanitorium, and plies the friendly nurse Adolfina with a gift. She asks him point blank: "Are you Eduardo?" He is impactado and remains so throughout the commercial break, then says no, Eduardo is dead, but he is a relative of the Cruz family. "Well, Lili asks for Ed all the time." Adolfina takes him to see Lili but they've only got five minutes before the change of the guard. Ciro squanders all those minutes, mouthing off about the black queen and pointlessly explaining: "I'm a professional patient, I'm here because I choose to be." "His wife and son don't love him." As the nurse drags Ed away, nothing of import having transpired, Lili begs: "Don't abandon me!"

Priscila sashays down the stairs, joking: "Fer, you better get busy with Damian or I'll have a baby before you do... in fact, better not wait because I want my baby to have a cuz to play with." She taunts Barbara: "Don't you have any maternal instinct?" She goes to have some wine with that cad Vlad and takes him home with her to his apartment where she drinks some more and knocks him onto the couch. Anibal calls her cellphone and she doesn't answer it. Some Important Paper falls next to the couch.

Humble sweet Aurora [I like her, she should have been the heroine. --Ed.] is making her bed when Barb comes in like a spider and sez, I thought you were leaving yesterday. "Oh, I thought I'd stay a little longer..." "HOW much longer?" Barb is in the process of snarling when Santiago comes bouncing in yelling, "All my life!" Barb sez, I only asked because if she were going to be with us much longer, I'd find her a better place. "Well, I've found her a better place." He installs her in his own huge bedroom and shuts the door in Barb's face. He explains, Aurora gets the cushy bed but he'll sleep on the sofa "because I don't want you to think I'm a fellow of easy virtue."

Lucio is drooling over Playboy Magazine in the limo when Barb steams up, throws him out, and zooms off to see Cigarman. "Soledad's spawn is near." "Flush him out - a visible enemy is best." Cigarman fears Soledad told Ed stuff before she died and he adjusts Barb's to-do list: get rid of Eduardo and THEN destroy the Elizalde's milk empire.

Fer comes to Santiago's room to collect him (and therefore Aurora) for the cemetery excursion. However, when Fer, Santiago, and Aurora arrive at the public cemetery to watch Soledad's exhumation, it's discovered that her coffin is gone! "Eduardo!"

Yes, in fact, Ed's had his mom cremated and had the nice orange box of ashes delivered to him, they will rest at San Rafael. Jacinto and Eduardo emote, they sob and sob, it's the only respite from non-stop talking this entire hour!!! Cry on, me lads!

At the hospital in Pueblo Villa Madero, a doctor is examining Martina's dad the blacksmith. The scar is well healed. Martina arrives to take dad home. "Oh, here's my daughter, she's a nurse here at the hospital!" "Well, I'm quite new, so we haven't met. Which department to you work in?" She is silent. He is smitten. Boy howdy, wait till he sees her in her, uh, nurses uniform!

Lily is daydreaming about being saved by Ed when the evil doctor arrives, tired of waiting for her to talk. This time, he has two pills instead of the usual one, and he forces them into her mouth and looks under her tongue to be sure she isn't hiding them. "No more concessions! If you don't tell me everything, I will turn your brain to pudding with my super-special electroshock treatment!"

Tomorrow: Erika gets Fr/Ed to pose as her boyfriend at the Elizalde dinner party. Gonzo punches Camilo (who's laughing about having almost killed Erika when he was drunk). Priscila and Vlad continue to have sex.

Wowee, you got this up one hour and ten minutes before MEPS shows here on the west coast! That means I have to wait over an hour to hear about the vigorous semen. Eduardo sure got mom out of the ground and cremated quickly. He's very goal oriented.

Guess what, Las Tontas also has perfect closed caps tonight.

I love it when the recaps zip right along. Nice job.

Of course Eduardo is goal oriented, he went to business school!

Oh that's right, and he also played football.

Something must have pleased the caption gods because the English captions magically reappeared on Telemundo tonight after disappearing for a couple of months!!

Jean, that's unbelievable! I thought they were gone for good. I wonder if all our letter-writing and comments had anything to do with it, if our people with inside knowledge helped prompt it, or if the stations finally worked out their kinks? I'm betting on the first two.

Thanks for the quick recap Melinama! I'll have to take a read through it. Were the CCs working on Cuidado, anyone know? Today, Mariana de la Noche, Tontas, and MEPS had the CCs working better than I remember. However, caught a couple of minutes of Valeria this afternoon and they were still off there. Maybe they're only converting the ones that people complained about. LOL
That was definitely a quick turnaround on the digging and cremation. How did they get the body out without the gatekeeper knowing?
Looking at the previews, looks like Gonzo is actually going to get upset and smack ol' Camilho.
Fr/Ed going to have to save Lili soon before she gets the electric treatment.
JeffMN

"he adjusts Barb's to-do list: get rid of Eduardo"
I think I could see Barb's mind a churning. Say what! I've been doing this for the last 15 years!! :-)
JeffMN

Melinama, I couldn't believe you had this up before the west coast airing. I didn't read until I watched! I like to see how much I can follow with no language skills. Awesome recap, thank you!

Okay, moving the body that fast wow! I have to say I totally went with the Ed/Jacinto scene, I remember having to pick up my brother. So much more emotion then you expect, thought that was a wonderful and correct moment.

He has got to get Lili out of there. I can't take any elctroshock therapy. That place is beyond wrong!

Can't wait to find out what Erika's present is, and see Camilho get the smack down by his dad. About time Gonzo grew a pair!

I think the Priss letter was what showed her husband was shooting blanks which means Vlad will find out, but will he use the info for good or evil? Hmmmm?

Love the pace of this show!

Liberate Lili!

Great recap, Melinama. Thanks.

Since we have such proficient fibbers all around this novela, including our galan, I hope poor Lil can muster enough clear thinking with Ciro's help to come up of a good line to feed Dr. Evil about her conversation with Fer. Otherwise, I hope she doesn't reveal that Eddie is in town and I hate to think of her having to undergo shock therapy. Poor Lil.

Lucio is an entertaining whenever he is on the screen. I thought it was funny when he told Babs he was working on the crossword puzzle. I'm sure that magazine had a crossword puzzle along with the foldout centerfold.

And could Vlad be any sleazier with his oily slick backed hair though he is oddly handsome. I liked the look on his face when Pris downed his brandy after she had ordered lemonade. All these small details make this novela fun.

Thank you, Melinama! What's Anyballs's story. . .well, I guess that's it. .he's a eunuch or something. I'm not mad at Vlad, though his spawn will probably end up with a congential defect that requires a blood test. . .or, the way Babs glared after Prissy as she sashayed down the stairs, she may involuntarily ride that bannister at the height of her pregnitude.

Oh, why pretend. .the episode was ok, I just can't wait til tonight to see Cadmilho get the holy, smokin' shit knocked out of him!!!!!

Khalilah

Thank you melinama for the recap! This is so helpful. There was a lot in last night’s episode that I just didn’t understand due to my lack of Spanish skills.

I guess Erika got to see her present while we got to see a commercial?

So the Bad Mud Bar’s business is down. Dude, we’re in an economic crisis! I saw on the news that Wall Street types are cutting back on their mistresses, and local news sez divorces are down because people cannot afford that luxury. Cut back on the mud and just have catfights.

ITA that the important paper that fell out of Prissy’s purse at cad Vlad’s is the fertility report. Vlad will probably blackmail Pris once she's preggers, and he knows Anibal isn't the father.

Yeah,,, how did they get Sole's body out of the ground so neatly???

Wow Melinama! So greatful! And especially for informing me in the title that the captions are working again. I just couldn't enjoy anything when I used those time warped ccs.

But I'm on this early and before reading the post just to let it out.
He's just bought the nails! When Fern catches up to Edwardo, no matter how long it takes, she will be enraged! And I hope the volume will be up so even he can't hear himself saying I'm sorry dear!

Why couldn't a telegram have worked? saying - NO. Period. You can not have MY MOTHER'S BODY. Period.

Of course money and power and myoptic world view were in play. Plus Barb moving faster than water down hill. Have you ever heard of an order for exhumation moving THAT fast? Well, I never.

JeffMN: Yes, the CCs were working on Cuidado as well! Oh happy day!! I felt positively giddy last night.
So Ed has declared himself dead. This clears up a lot of potential confusion. Looks like Fer will fall in love with Fr, not knowing he is Ed of course. Wonder how Fr/Ed will cue Lili that she cannot reveal his identity to anyone--She seems incapable of lying, which is not surprising considering the 15 years of abuse she has suffered. I’m with you, Molly—I can’t face electric shock therapy either!

I nominate Schoolmarm for Mayor of Viewerville. (Melinama is already President- for-Life of the School Board)

Melinama, thanks for another great recap. It was refreshing to have our CCs back. EST for Lil? OH NO!! Get her out of there! I didn't think anyone was doing that anymore.

Carlos

Hi all:

I wonder if Erika's present could be Ed's horse?? But, that would mean that Erika's dad has seen her face, wouldn't it?? Would she tell her dad that she ran into a door knob and he believed it?? And, he would give the horse without meeting Fr/Ed??

I wonder if Soledad never was buried there. Or the priest somehow pulled strings to get her exhumed - before Babs/Fernanda's exhumation order. Ed's one step ahead of Babs again.

I still don't understand why the Cigarman and Babs still think Eduardo is an impediment to shifting the "final battle" of their war into high gear. But, whatever it is, Ed is unwittingly aiding the Elizalde family by having the cigarman delay his vendetta against them.

Something tells me the guy who walked into the Mud Wrestling bar with a chip on his shoulder is a future player in our "game".

The paper which fell on the floor in Vladim's apartment was the test results. Which means Vladim will surely find them out. Which raises possibilities: 1) Vlad blackmails Pris 2) Vlad and Pris really fall in love and conspire to get rid of Anibal (divorce?, death?, sanitarium?) so that they can raise their own baby or 3)....???

We are apparently in the second day after the wedding and no further intrigue re the money crisis that was on the table the day before the wedding. Hmmm???

I am still confused as to what is motivating Babs. Why would she "endure" 15 years of living in luxury and wealth - to put an end to it?? By destroying the business, she is destroying a wealth that she would inherit a chunck of if she played it straight till Gonzo died. She must have a personal stake in the Cigarman's vendetta, as well, one would think.

So Prissy is not going to be smart about this, que lastima. Moving so fast and not stopping to smell the flowers is dumb. Even Vlad seemed taken aback by her speed and easy/pushy approach. Now just how long would it have taken Prissy to ask him what can I do for you in exchange? Ideally she could have interviewed him about his means of self support. At least she could have taken the test results out of her purse and left that at home. Dear script writers, why couldn't she have been a smart woman?!

Thanks, Melinama, for the recap. This episode finally cleared up something for me. Gonzo's explanation of Soledad's desire to not see him makes him look a bit better now. He's still clueless, but a better guy. He'll look even better when he smacks the true asshat Cadmil-ho. What a completely worthless glob of protoplasm- (but that's tonight). What still doesn't make sense is that Eddy has declared himself dead to everyone that has asked, but he is still alive to those that matter- Fernanda, especially- he took her call... Definitely a shared past between BOW and Aurora, that was a "deer-in-the-headlights" scene in Santiago's bedroom, glad he made it to the rescue, then slammed the door in her face! No love lost there...I, too, get the feeling that Pris is going to take a tumble down the stairs of doom, she almost went down on her own with those heels (How do you women even walk with those things on your feet?) I think that Prissy has just added her name to BOW's list of things to do.
What ever happened to Damian's trip to NYC? After all that build up, I'm eager to see Esteve scam Dam.
Bonny, I wondered the same thing, why did Eddy agree to having her body moved. It would make so much more sense for him to say- "NO! Have a nice life!", and no one would think that he was there. Beanie slippage, I know...
dorado dave

Melinama, thank once again for a great recap. I couldn't watch these things without people like you and the other recappers!

Dorado Dave, we wear those "heels" to you please you guys, for some reason you like them. I am sure that most of us would go barefooted if we could.

rsk

TG, I think the captions are better than ever.

Looks like a little blackmail might be headed Pris' way. Will Vlad use the info to get Pris o the baby o both o want sth from Anibal to keep quiet o sth from Pris to keep quiet?

Lil did mange to get those pills under her pillow.

I think the guy that came in the bar is the owner. It seems that business is not as good & the patrons need sth new. Maybe the doc will get Martina a real job in el hospital. Loved the line about her nurses uniform!

Yea, someone smacks Camilo, who would have thought it would be Gonzo?

Great recap Melinama and great to have the captions back. All of you who wrote in to complain, as requested, write in now to thank them. Wouldn't hurt.

About those heels, Dorado, I have seen practice wearing start as early as age 4. The sway motion of the body undoubtedly is observable by young children and they start to imitate that too. I think the heels accent what is happening with the hips. Practice, practice, practice- by a certain age a woman can do it with ease and swing. You're watchin' are'nt ya'? Well she's getting a charge too from the sway of her body; the tilt of her backbone, those to-die-for styled shoes; and sneakers don't bring-it.
Speaking of high heels, are they teasing us with 3 women in elegantly high heels conversing on that staircase-of-doom?!

Thanks, Melinama~~~Sylvia--''Eduardo is goaloriented''---business school and football... Cut-it-out !!!!!! I like a pragmatic , goaloriented problemsolver.

Thanks for the recap Melinama. Now I can officially call creepy guy Vlad the Impale-Her. :P

OT,
RSK, have you seen the heels designed by Carlos Santana!? I would happily wear any of his for bedroom slippers, even.

"Gonzo's explanation of Soledad's desire to not see him makes him look a bit better now." Wouldn't you know I finally turned off the captions because I just couldn't stand it anymore. So I missed Gonzo's explanation. Wasn't the reason Fr/Ed wasn't supposed to set foot in Mexico again because Babs told Soledad she would kill Fr/Ed or her too? What was Gonzo's explanation. Thx for the recap!

Great recap and I too was very excited to see the captions back, working properly. I'm going to send a note to Univision thanking them. I hope someone with connections to Univision can shed a little light on what happened - I should just be happy, but I always like to know the whole story.

Agnes, if they go that far, I will have to turn it off. I have enough problems with them holding her down while they force drugs on her.

Here in Oregon once the closed the state mental hospital, the stories that have come out over the years of patient abuse. Just horrifying.

I don't even want to see them taking Lili there and she gets rescued at the last minute. Its just to gruesome.

I am totally loving Santiago. I can ingnore the hair because he is just so darned adorable!

When Erika first called home from Fr/Eds house, didn't the maid say her dad was bringing her a present? So it can't be Fr/Eds horse already.

Bonny Churros, I just check Carlos Santana's website - I think I probably have some in my closet. I think some of them would be great to wear while watching this novella! Do you think anyone would notice?

Back to yesterday's discussion about ages for the sacraments, while at church yesterday I checked with the padre and found that nowdays they make their 1st Communion in the 2nd grade if they have had all of their instructions and are strongly encouraged to receive their 1st Communion with their family and not as a class group. Confirmation happens after age 13 and depended on proper instructions and when the obispo can make it to the parish. There are some parishes that the obispo can get to only every 2 to 3 years. From that information and the presence of the obispo I am assuming that Nanda was somewhere between 7 and 13.

rsk

Great, quick and to the point recap! Thanks!

I was really kinda bummed about Prisi not noticing that the lab results fell out of her purse. But it would've been too easy if there hadn't been a snag in her plan! But I did think Priscila looked very pretty last night. I really liked the dress she wore when she went to go see VTIH.

Gotta tell ya ladies - I love FC as much as anybody, but I'm so not diggin' his crying scenes. Just as he started to sob while holding the box with his Mama's ashes, I actually yelled out loud at the TV: "No high-pitched weeping!!!! Jacinto cries in a much more manly way. Silent, but distraught should be FC's crying MO.

Can't wait to see Cadmilho get his clock cleaned tonight by Gonzo! I'm so glad my recrap is tonight! LOL

Reply to RSK: They look good on you! ;-)

Bonney and RSK, I love the style of Santana's shoes, his use of color is wonderful, but they don't tend to be the most comfortable. Heels can be comfortable, they don't have to kill your feet!

hip,hip,hooray...for Gonzo.....i was so happy to see camilo get it in that oopa-loompa face of his..
needs to be run over too.. thanks melinmna for the quick recap.
i am loving this TN and watch it twice... i get it at 6:00 and again at 9 here in CA. love it..
Vanessa, will be black mailed by Vlad... i think he will see the papers and then want money...Ed/Fr
is right in wanting his mom with him,he is after all her son...so many things to think about now... i hope lili is liberated soon because shock treatment would be awful Super Ed needs to come to her rescue...BN

Anon 11:48- Ijust watched capitulo 39 parte 3 on utube to better answer your question. Fernanda asked Gonzo at bfast why Soledad wasn't working at the hacienda when she returned from Spain. Gonzo thought, sipped coffee, then explained that the pain that Soledad felt for Lili's and Fernanda's absence was very painful for her, and had to leave the hacienda. He said that when he went to visit her, she had said that it pained her to see him, and that out of respect for her feelings, he stayed away. Makes me think that he was so clueless that he did not know that she had actually been fired, and believed that she left on her own.
I have found that re-watching scenes where I haven't understood all of a conversation while watching live, that reviewing on utube , with instant replay, and better sound than my old TV, is very beneficial. We all know that you can't count on the CC's to work, let alone be accurate...

dorado dave

Melissa, these boys all cry a lot! You don't see that in American soaps. Its kind of sweet.

Dave, thanks for the further explanation on what Gonzo told Nanda.

So in the preview was Cadmil-ho really gloating about how he beat up Erika?

But Molly? We have that time honored phrase which calls men to attention: "My feet are killing me". And even the backslider gentlemen will give you their seat. As for uncomfortable shoes? Those are still church shoes, i.e. 2 hours and out/off.

I've been listening to Barbinator walk in her heels and I imagine the sharp stabbing sound adds to the characterization of her. Thus, her heels are artistic tools! (Tongue in cheek here.)

Melinama: Thanks for the recap. Why on earth was Prissy carrying the results of the fertility tests in her purse? That was dumb. Vlad probably will be a cad when he finds out he's just a sperm donor.

Prissy has to have a child to inherit her father's fortune (I think.). This is going to make a real good side plot.

BTW: I lost all Latin channels over the weekend. I am hoping to have them restored this week, but, I never know what DirecTV can fix or not fix. Meanwhile, I'm watching Manana and Cuidado on YouTube - without captions. I'm jealous. I wrote an email, and I hope it was part of the "correcting" process.

Molly - I don't mind men crying at all, I do think it's sweet and it makes them even more "manly". But I don't like the high-pitched crying on FC, like when he first realized Soledad had passed away in her sleep. Strong, silent, sobbing is okay, though. LOL I'm pretty high maintenance, I guess!

Melinama, wonderful recap. I agree - love Aurora but I love Santiago even more! No trace of Mr. James here.

I like the bromance of Eduardo and Jacinto. They're a great duo and can't wait to see how they are going to handle all of the various obstacels sure to come their way. Diana in MA

Melinama, great recap! I especially liked "cry on, me lads"! LOL!

I'm enjoying a lot of the minor characters, like Lucio, Martina, Gardenia (although she wasn't on last night), and of course Prissy, who's not exactly a good or bad character, but she's fun to watch!

Fr/Ed seems to be wound a little too tightly. He needs to get some of that agression out. Maybe he can teach everyone how to play futbol americano.

Bonney, I guess I have been working with the guys so long, they treat me like one. If I complained my feet hurt, they would just tell me to suck it up!

Melissa, everytime they show the opening credits with him screaming in the bed with dead mom, I figure he watched a lot of Vanessa Redgrave in Trojan Women as a kid.

Melinama, you use "Boy howdy"! It's my pet phrase, and I never hear anyone else use it (I'm in N. California). Most people I know have never heard it. So I did a google search of Caray, and I discovered that Kris and Sylvia use it too. How strange is that? Three of the five Tontas recappers, plus the mother hen, use the same obscure phrase. Just saying.

Paula: I probably learned it from my fellow bloggers. Nobody said it where I come from (NY).

Dorado Dave ... thanks for the Gonzo explanation and advice about utube !!

So far, the actress playing Liliana gets my Emmy or Oscar. She can convey such an array of feelings with just her eyes -- sadness, confusion, fear, desperation, hope and trust, not to mention a pretty convincing catatonia.

Of the minor characters I love Lucio, unsavory as he is. He's hilarious. I cracked up when he said he was just doing the crossword puzzles in the girlie magazine. At least it was a change from reading it for the "articles"

Very straightforward and humorous recap, Melinama, I enjoyed it. It's fun to read the different styles of the recappers.

J.J..

And one more comment on Gonzo's explanation to Fernanda. You mean she's just now getting around to asking about it ??

Diana, I think it will be interesting to see how Jacinto reacts when Estevie shows up. It's certain to cause some jealousies. I guess sort of a bromance triangle.

Liberate Lil!

Carlos

Carlos, would that be a bromangle?

Good one, Molly.

Carlos

anon- that's the first that i'm aware of Fer's wondering about the reason for Soledad's exile. i thougt that was wierd, too.

Liliana LIBRE! YA!

dorado dave

I just watched utube cap 30 parte 4, the back to back scenes- Santiago closing the door in BOW's face, then BOW taking the SUV from KLucio, really quite funny. Also, parte 3 starts with the stairway scene where Prisa gets a motherhood dig on BOW. I just realized how BOW is losing her absolute control everywhere she turns. I have a feeling that she is going to start acting more desperate, especially because she won't be able to find Eddy, tho she will be breaking bread with hima t her own table tonite.

LILIANA LIBRE!

dorado dave

Hombre~~Perhaps Fr/Ed's tension is due to the fact that he has saved himself for Nanda all these years. He's all wound up. He needs some good loving...that should help him relax and stop the wailing.

Susanlynn, I'm thinking that's not happening for awhile, maybe he should take more hot showers until then!

I love how Babs just throws the magazine out the window and into Lucio's face. :) **Grinning ear to ear** That was just classic.

I wonder how eduardo was able to sleep at night thinking about Fernanda all the time. Maybe Ericka will be able to uh release some of the pent up emotion. ;)

Ibarramedia

Wonderful fun read, Melinama. Thanks!

===
Wait a minute! When we saw the coffin going into the ground with Margo and Cinto and Ed watching, it was a regular sized coffin. What the priest sent Eduardo was an urn/mini-coffin. So, was this a continuity error or did the priest have her remains turned into ashes so Sole's remains could be fit into the tiny niche of the church he and Ed agreed on?

Paula H. and Melinama. I was surprised to hear "Boy Howdy" cause my work friend is the only one I ever heard say it. She grew up in the U.P. of Michigan and lived for a while in the panhandle of Florida.

Bromance. That's a cool/apt description of many of the male relationships in these novelas. My favorite was Fernando and Omar Carvajal. Yeah, Esteve may be jealous.

I also appreciate the explanations but like Dave, I listen, listen, listen. If I try to read captions I miss all the facial and gestural expressiveness. Agreed: Actress playing Lili is masterful! Re FC crying: Jaime Camil is the only galan in these novelas I have ever seen that looks beautiful even when he cries, as for FC I'm with Melinanma, when he cries: here's my open arms!

Khalilah

I don't know why Esteve would come to Mexico. The business is in Nueva York & he is doing this ruse out of friendship for Eduardo.

I really don't care how Colunga does anything, just come to mama baby. That includes hair cut & crying. I just want to hug & console him. Of course he could easily be my son, where is his father? More of my age group, damn.
Getting old is hell.

I really look forward to the MEPS episodes, with FELS it became a learning español chore.

Isn't the actress that plys Lili the sister of the actress that played Alina in Duelo de Pasion that we had so much fun with a while back. I think that this one is doing a better job, but it's really kinda early to judge, she hasn't done much yet.

dorado dave

Excellent recap Melinama. I too think someone is going to take a tumble down those stairs since the show made a big to do of Priscilla and Nanda walking down the steps. So Eddie had his mother's body removed and cremated so that she wouldn't be entombed. By the time he comes around regarding Nanda she won't be having it. Looking forward to Gonzo slapping that smirk off of Camiho's face. Laughing about beating up a woman isn't funny. Loved Santi shutting the door in Bab's face. I too can't handle Lil getting shock treatment. Eddie better move fast to get her out of there and her allie too.

Great recap and great comments! I'm so glad I started watching this one after FELS - the beanie doesn't have to be fitted quite as perfectly to be able to hang in with the MEPS crew!

On the question of Vlad and the fertility results: remember that Vlad is a friend (maybe the only friend) of Damian. Maybe he'll clue Damian in on AnyBalls lack thereof, and Damian and Barbara will get in on the blackmail action as well.

I also wonder, though, why Barbara hasn't blown town already. Someone mentioned that she would be destroying her life of luxury, but actually she's already socked all the money away. The missing money that no one seems to be worrying about anymore is all in the offshore account of Rebecca Sanchez, which is her real name. So she would be fine. Right now, the whole family and business is running on credit. How's Nanda going to put on her artisan cheese festival?

Molly, I was thinking the same thing. Vlad will see the letter that her husband shoots blanks. when she becomes pregant, he will know it is his, but wait till an opportune time to let them all know it is his. Just like in the Gaviota Novela. The fact that the baby was not Eduardo Y and instead was someone elses.

Pris should have SHREDDED that letter and scattered the shreds among six or seven different public trash cans!!

I did indeed send a thank you to Univision for restoring the captions, link again is at: http://www.univision.net/corp/en/contact.jsp?null

I thought I'd used "boy howdy" in a recap before, I guess not??

Thanks Khalilah for "pregnitude." I like to learn a new fake word every day. :-) At this point, it's such a cliche for pregnant women to fall down the stairs that I hope it doesn't happen. Unless Barbara gets knocked up somehow!

Anyone else think the layout of Vlad's apartment is an awful lot like Omar's apartment from LFMB?

Watching Aurora and Santiago last night, I decided that I need to drive up to the Mass. turnpike this weekend and cry by the side of the road near a tollbooth.

I'm still trying to figure out how they could remove a coffin and not have the dirt disturbed. You could obviously tell if it had been removed. Sorry, beanie is slipping again. I like to see a sensitive man cry (Juan Reyes) just as much as the next girl but really Fr/Ed gives me a headache.

We say Boy Howdy here in Kansas. Does anyone else besides me use the word "church key?" Who knows what it is referring to? (And it is not the obvious key to a church.) My mom says a lot of funny things: Wash has an "r" in it--Warsh. A creek is not pronounced creek--it's a crick. And one of my favorites is Missouri. But people from Missouri(except me) say Missoura.

Yup Connie, I've got a couple of church keys!

I use Soda, which not a lot of people in Oregon do. I've always been here so I'm not sure why, unless my parents used it.

My ex-Father in law always said "see you in church if you sitting by the window" I like that one!

I have many odd sayings that drive my kids up the wall.

I didn't think I had a church key, but I just looked it up and now I realize I have one on the refrigerator. :)

Heck, some people even keep them on keychains!

Dorado Dave: Yes, Dominika Paleta, the actress playing Liliana is Ludwika Paleta's sister (Alina in Duelo).

Both of them are good, before this novela I would have said Ludwika was better (I've seen her in more roles in other telenovelas and movies), but I'd say Dominika has just proven herself here so I don't know who's better now.

Ludwika was always good (since a little child) and Dominika started with so so acting and with time became much better, that's why Ludwika even though is younger, has reached a lead status, while her sister still hasn't, however Liliana is a better character than Alina, so I don't think Dominika can complain about getting fun characteres to play. Also, both sisters are good at playing villains.

Jarocha

Jardinera, Is't that the alter behind FrEd's desk? He checked the cabinet and was relieved it was done. I was wondering at the time who put it in.

Renee, that is an awful possibility of Damian and Vlad sharing the blackmail with Barb! But wouldn't Damian know better than to let Barb find out?
I think the lack of worry about money is lack of experience worrying about such things as cash flow.

Julie, send me a GoogleMap with your location point. I don't want to crowd yours with my twin daughters.

ha I thought guys took cold showers to cool their "thing" down.
