MEPS - May 19th - If Nanda and Fr/Ed were the new couple in People Magazine, They'd Be Known as "Ferduardo Juarezalde"

Capitulo 66 – Sorry if this is a little disjointed, but I watched it first on You Tube and then watched it “live” and realized the You Tube version cut some stuff out.

From last night: We have to live through the invitation to Errorika about the party again. Babs hands over the necklace to Lucio.

Gardenia show Fr/Ed his passport that she found on the dead body. He wants to know who this guy was who tried to defend her against being raped and died tryin’. Gardenia says it was the man who came to Las Animas the other day saying it was a matter of life and death and Fr/Ed remembers it was Agent Manzanares. Gardenia says she’s doesn’t think he was really a cop because he was hangin’ out with Jairo.

Bitch Barbie gives Lucio the necklace and also gives him a business card of a place he can go where he can sell it. She tells him he’ll get $8,000,000 pesos for it. (At today’s current exchange rate of approximately 13 pesos per US Dollar – Lucky Lucio will wind up with about $615,385.00 – hell – give me the necklace! Lucio’s lickin’ his chops at the thought of this kind of money and Barb tells now it’s time to “Larrrrrrrgate!” or in other words, Get the F Out!

Babs talks to Gonzo about how bad Lucio is.

Gardenia wants to know how she’s supposed to address Fr/Ed now, Don Santorito, Eduardo or Don Eduardo. Fr/Ed tries to apologize and says he’s sure she’ll understand once she hears what he has to say. Gardenia, with big ‘ol alligator tears running down her face, also wants to know why Fr/Ed never answered her letter telling him she loved him and would wait for him. Fr/Ed doesn’t know what to say to her and just then there’s a knock on the door. Gardenia opens the door to find Fernanda coming to pick Fr/Ed up for their “date”. There is very tense moment when it seems that Gardenia has realized that Don Francuardorito is still in love with Senora Fernandita. Fernanda comes bouncing in like a happy little puppy and Fr/Ed says he’s been waiting for her. Gardenia stands and watches and finally asks if they’ll be returning for lunch. Fr/Ed says no, but she should ask Esteve if he’d like anything and if not, to take the morning off. Fr/Ed and Nanda decide they’re going to ride their horses over to the old barn.

Margs and Jacinto argue about Gardenia shooting her mouth off and that everyone will know who Franco is. She says she’ll be happy about that, doesn’t Jacinto see that Eduardo’s lies are affecting everyone?

Of course, Nanda and Fr/Ed are on matching white horses. They arrive at the barn and he’s almost frozen by memories. She opens the door and it’s almost as if he wants to cry from happiness at the thought of returning to the barn with Nanda, his love.

Vlad has made a date over the phone with Prisci. He tells Dam that he knows Prisci will tell him everything’s ready for his job at Grupo Lactose Intolerance.

Fernanda begins to explain her “vision” for what they want to build. She finally stops to ask his opinion, but he’s mesmerized in front of the wooden post where he carved their initials all those years ago. He says the initials must be there for many years and while caressing the initials with his fingers, he says it’s incredible that something so simple, done by a child could last so long. But he thinks it’s impossible that a love that inspired that heart couldn’t exist anymore.

Margs wants to drag Jacinto to Dona Soledad’s house. Just then Lucio is skedaddling outta town on foot with his little duffle bag.

He asks if she can imagine what the two people would think if they could see the heart with their initials again – it would be like finding something that had died. Nanda starting to get that drooling, catatonic look on her face like she had when he told her the story of the Jinete Justiciero. She asks what makes him think that their love has died? He says it would be a miracle and he doesn’t believe in miracles. She asks whether he doesn’t believe in miracles, or whether he doesn’t believe in love. He answer that he thinks you have to believe in love in order to believe in miracles and unfortunately, he doesn’t believe in love. That’s why he’s sure that the two lovers are not together.

Barb goes running down the steps and tells Gonzo the Gullible Dope that someone has stolen the necklace he gave her for their anniversary – she’s putting on quite the show.

Nanda thinks Fr/Ed’s a pessimist when it comes to love. He says he’s seen too many relationships end up in tears. She offers to tell him the story of the carved heart. He asks if the two are still together and she says no, but not because they their love was over, but because destiny was cruel to them. He asks how she knows and she says the “F” stands for Fernanda.

Margs and Jacinto arrive at Dona’s casa to find the open-faced grave with Manzanares looking a bit stiff. Margs cries.

Nanda and Fr/Ed are now both feeling up the poor molested heart! Their hands are almost touching. She tells him it’s been there for 15 years. He asks if she ever saw the boy again. He says it was probably just young love and that it was probably just a “travesura” – mischief. Nanda says it wasn’t just a travesura that actually kept them from seeing each other again. She tells him how the boy/man sent flowers to her wedding, doesn’t he remember? He says maybe the man’s reaction was because he was still in love with that little girl. He comes closer to her (she’s drooling again) and he asks if she stopped loving him and why, because she fell in love with her husband. She agrees and says it’s possible that’s why he sent the flowers and the card. Fr/Ed starts getting a little too annoyed for a supposed “third party” and tells her if the woman he loved were marrying another man is that she had stopped loving him. She gets angry and says the boy never answered her letters – Eddie looks a bit shocked. He asks what the boy’s name was and she says Eduardo, el Jinete Justiciero, he knew him. She says she feels responsible for what’s happened. Fr/Ed says maybe Eduardo never received the letters. She said it’s impossible, she gave the cards to his mother to send to him. Eddie knows something’s fishy here.

Margs is screaming at Jacinto about what they’re going to do about the dead body. She says they have to tell Eduardo what’s happened. They leave the scene of the crime.

Tomasa is taking the heat from Gonzo about stealing the necklace. She keeps saying she doesn’t know anything about it. He tells Babs to call the police. Babs all of sudden realizes that it was probably Damian that stole her necklace.

Vlad’s ready to leave for his date with Prisci and Dam hands him an envelope - I didn’t catch what was in it. Damian is getting ready to send BadBabs an e-mail saying it’s not over yet, and he’s going to give her a fight and she’ll be hearing from him soon.

Babs explains that she’s sure Damian was in their room the morning he left. She’s “remembering” how Damian left in a hurry and he was nervous. Tomasa cannot believe the lies Babs is spinning off the tip of her tongue. Gonzo finally apologizes to Tomasa. Exit stage right for Tomasa. Gonzo is frustrated that his daughter’s husband turned out to be nothing but a petty thief.

Fr/Ed thinks the barn is a great place for the community center. He says he thinks the place needs to be torn down. She stops and remembers the childhood kiss, and we have to remember with her – AGAIN. Yeah, yeah, it was magical, sun was streaming through the windows, blah, blah, blah. Fr/Ed comes over and asks if she’s really serious about trying to salvage the building. She says she thinks she’ll be very sad if they have to get rid of the walls. He asks if she’s talking about all the walls, or just the “viga” (beam) that has the heart on it. She asks if he thinks she’s ridiculous and he says no, just the opposite he’s surprised at how something so small could have such significance. They almost KISS!!!! Nanda realizes this and pulls away, but they’re still smiling at each other just like those two little children.

Barb doesn’t know how they’re going to hurt Nanda again by reporting Dam again for stealing the necklace. She says even though the necklace meant so much to her she can’t use it to hurt his daughter. He thinks they have the best love in the world – dope. He leaves for the office, but not before telling her she’s a saint – yeah right!!!! Barbs calls the jeweler from the business card. She says she thinks the person who stole it will be trying to sell it to him, that the chauffeur overheard her. Jeweler Guy laughs and says her chauffer must be one dumb criminal. She says if the guy shows up with the necklace to call the police and return the necklace to her.

A-Bore-A is playing with the horses at the stable. Santiago shows up. Santi thinks horses are better than people, especially most of his family – and he’s right. He’s ashamed of his family. She says she’s the one that should be ashamed – she has no family. They hug, and Sleazy Cad looks on.

She says she has to tell him something about her brother Cadmilho. She says it wasn’t fair of Fr/Ed to have fired Jacinto because he let Cad into the house. She goes on to tell him that Cadmilho mistreated Jacinto when they were younger to the point of leaving scars on his back and Jacinto let Cadmilho in the house out of fear of the Dreaded Cad. She says she sure that he’ll want to cancel all their plans now that he’s heard her, but it doesn’t matter because now her conscience is clear. He grabs her by the arm and says she’s a baffling woman (desconcertante) and that El Jinete Justiciero was right that she was the most wonderful woman he had ever met in his life. He says El Jinete Justiciero spoke of her with all the enthusiasm of a man in love, but now he’s envious of El Jinete Justiciero because to be loved by her would be a privilege to fight for to the death.

Peeping Cadmilho looks on and eavesdrops on the two young lovers. He comes out of the shadows to annoy them.

Nanda admits to Fr/Ed that she thinks she’s responsible for Eduardo’s death, and that his suicide was the most cruel revenge. It’s the only way she can explain his committing suicide. He takes her head in his hands as she weeps and she says she feels nothing but eternal hatred for Eduardo.

Previews: Fr/Ed tells her that the woman he came back to Mexico to marry is Fernanda and that he loves her and they KISS!!!!!! Can you imagine how angry Errorika is going to be when she finds out?????

Melissa, Thanks for the lightening fast recap. I want to point out that the date you are recapping is May 19 for later avoidance of confusion.

It is still not clear if Gardenia will be a ninny with great breasts and sexy hair or will be strong and become a reliable team player. Weird that she has carried a 15 year unrequited crush without examining but then that is exactly what Eduardo and Fernanda have done too. Fernanda moved on a bit but not far enough apparently. But weren't the romance in attics and on horseback breathtaking. Took my breath several times. Sizzzzzle.

That body must be smelling, I wonder if Barbara will dispatch it. I don't remember if she ever saw Manzanares so would she realize who he is or at least what he means to Ciggieman.

If I understood right, when Fernanda asked Ed/Fr if he wanted to ride horses, he said he couldn't because he didn't have his horse anymore. Then, Fernanda said no problem, she's got some extra horses.

Did I understand right?? Then, what the heck was all of the time, effort and energy put into the million dollar horse that was going to humiliate or destroy Camilo??

Hmm.... ???

The Fox.

Cheryl - thanks for pointing out the date. I don't know where I am. LOL

Silverfox - Eduardo said the problem was he only had one horse and she replied with that's okay, mine is outside.

Melissa:

ok.. I guess i misunderstood. So the horse subplot is still on. I guess I was sidetracked by American Idol finals. Boy, the American Idol finals were good tonight.

Thanks

The Fox.

I told my husband, MEPS is the steamiest novela I've seen. No sex yet (the dream doesn't count - that couldn't melt butter). No kisses yet. But the gazes and the desire and the seductive gestures.. Some of the scenes in the barn just took my breath away. It's almost better than chocolate!

Thank you, Melissa, for capturing the heat so well.

Fox, Adam is great IMO, Kris not so much. Hope Adam wins Idol.

Melissa thanks for the recap. GinCA

Thanks, Melissa. So Fr/ed says ''It would be like finding something that had died''..and then Marg and Jacinto actually do. The scenes of Fr'ed and Fern in the barn and riding were hot , but Fr'ed has got to lose that sweater . ..put it on or leave it home. Maybe he's reliving the Jinte Jus Superhero moments of his youth and it's supposed to be a cape. It was sweet to see the two touching the post with the heart and the initials. The almost kisses were muy hot. The writers really like to tease us. So, Fr'ed will sweep Fern off her feet; they'll become lovers, and then , at some point, jealous Gardenia will tell Fern who Fr'ed really is. That's my guess. Ah Yes, I can relate...love triangles...It's sixth grade...David, Rosie, and me...and there goes an ID bracelet right out the second floor classroom window. Art imitating life.

Ps. I didn't watch American Idol, but I did surf back and forth to the finale of Dancing with the Stars...It was great.

Isn't it a bit bizarre that Jacinto and Margarita would go off to Lucio's house knowing the man has a screw loose and knowing he's waving a gun at anyone within 50 yards. And I'm a tad disappointed with our hero again ... all that happened to Gardenia (thanks to Fr/Ed) but off he goes with Fernanda with hardly a sympathetic nod to Gardenia for her plight of the last two days. "Oh, we'll talk about it later." Nice.

Melissa! Thank you so much for some morning giggles: "Nanda and Fr/Ed are now both feeling up the poor molested heart!" and "A-Bore-A". Hee Hee!

I missed parts as well and will have to watch You Tube. I see the controversial Cad peeping on ABoreA was shown "live." More reason the anxiously await his downfall, the bastid!

Also want to see the sparks fly in the barn! Oooh la la! I did see part of it, and poor Nanda: Remember in cartoons when the character realized they'd been made a fool of and they turned into a sucker or a donkey and the music would go, "waa waa waa waaaaaa!?" Well, that's what Nanda's going to feel when she finds out Deaduardo has been wooing her under false pretenses. I think he'll do a lot of fast talking though and pull through on the memory of the old and new filtered-sun-through-the-rafters kisses.

Gardenia and Erika? A couple of women scorned likely to provide a lotta sparks of another kind!

Khalilah

Thanks Melissa for the recap. Hot is right! The almost kiss, the touch, the horses. The barn sceens made my nose itch! All that dust, and who knows what. Ack!

If you have allergies don't ever plant a cottonwood tree! They have quite a few here on the Plaza and they "snow" and they get up your nose, in your hair...sneeze, sneeze!

I feel sorry for Gardenia. Nobody seems to take her seriously. They are like, oh you were kidnapped, bummer dude.

I can see Erika telling Fernanda that Franco is just here looking for a rich wife. After what she went through with Damian, I don't think she would look too favorably upon Franco after that. And how will she ever forgive Ed for putting her through the trauma of Eduardo's "suicide", especially so close after Soledad's death.

I also keep waiting for the real Franco Santoro to turn up one day. We know he's out there somewhere. Maybe he'll wind up being a match for one of the extra ladies on this show.

Backtracking:
I enjoyed absolutely everything about the 'workout'. I like naked bodies especially smooth hairless ones. I enjoyed the Director's timing of placing that scene. I enjoyed the lack of tons of grease on the body falsely indicating sweat. I enjoyed the actor's hint (I think I saw) of vanity just the very tiniest hint of vanity, which he has well earned because he has worked on what God gave him. The 'workout' added to my sensory enjoyment of the telenovela. It also reminded me that when I am admiring how that man can wear a suit, make even his footsteps sound sexy and melt a television screen, he's got all that underneath his clothes.
Just had to say that. Thank you.
And if the line is getting shorter then that must mean I'm getting closer to the front of the line {-)

Thanks for the great recap Melissa. I didn't have those previews on my episode here but they sound exciting.

I was really enjoying wicked Barbie last night. She relished Tomasa's terror when the poor lass thought she was going to be fired by Gonzo for swiping the diamonds.. Really dragged out the moment until finally "realizing" that Damian must have taken the necklace. Equally heartless in a previous scene where she told Tomasa to hush (after being menaced with a pistol to her head) and to bring the coffee super-quick.

Also loved her grimaces when Gonzo kept coming back again and again to thank her for being such a loving and sensitive mom to his Fernanda. "Just leave already you schemiel!" she seemed to be saying. Love it!

Like the rest of you commenters, I found the near-kisses and dazzled looks between Fernanda and Eduardo hot hot hot. But the actual kiss we keep seeing on the bridge didn't seem hot at all. They're barely holding each other. Same awkwardness as in the dream scene. These two generate a lot of steam with their glances but don't know if they're EVER going to melt butter, as Paula says.

Bonney: oh, I'm still in line! I may not be a fan of over-muscled iron pumpers but FC is still the hottest hottie on my TV screen. If that's his biggest fault, I'll somehow find a way to deal with it. But that's because I'm a giving woman...(and oh what I'd like to give him!)

Maggarita

Great recap. Melissa, thank you. Was yesterday's posting tally a record? Way over a hundred. There is sure a lot of interest in this TN, on a wide variety of topics.
What an episode, so much happened. I really feel for my Gardenia. She comes to work, tels Eddy her tale of kidnapping, near rape, threat of imminent death, rescue by Jacinto, warning of the crazy, armed Lucio still on the oose, and by the way, here is your passport, EDUARDO. Why didn't you answer my letter? He sez, "oh, that's interesting, well, geez, here is Fernanda, we'll talk later..." WTF!?WTF!? She was absolutely brokenhearted, and he didn't even notice. I felt like inviting her on a picnic, to try and console her. I hope that Esteve rescues her.
BAbs outdid herself last nite. Diffuse and dismiss idiot Lucio with a bauble, allow Gonzo to blame Tomasa, the switch the blame to Damian, then set up Lucio to get caught when he trys to fence it. A tactical error on her part- she is putting Lucio in a desperate spot, eager to spill the beans on what he knows about her. He tells the story that she GAVE hime the necklace, Tomasa corraborates the story, suddenly, she's got some serious questions toi answer. It would seem to me a better plan to just let Lucio go, even pawn it w/o getting caught, still pinning the blame on Damian. Oh well...
The scenes with Ed/Fer- (Ditch the sweater. preppy-yuppy). Sometimes touching, sometimes silly, but there was a real sexual tension, and Eddy is sure showing restraint in his effort to seduce her into loving him, as Franco. As Eddy, not so much. How could she be so naive as to NOT know that they are one and the same guy- he all but told her that that was the case- "if Eduardo walked from around this tree..." She shreiks "ODIO!" Well, hate is easier to overcome than indifference, as the previews show, and as Vlad can attest...

my word recognition is "flighti", a reference to anyone in this TN?

Melissa, another great recap. I always look forward. I too think that Gardenia was treated too dismissively.

Kidnapped? Almost raped? Almost murdered? Knocked around? Nobody takes you seriously? Misled? No answer to your heartfelt tearful letter? Gee, sucks to be you. Now go fix Esteve a sandwich. Catch you later. Ta ta.

I bet Esteve will be more compassionate.

Carlos

La Hiena's coolness during that Lucio episode was classic. She just walked away ever so calmly and unconcerned. Then decided her hair needed some brushing. I knew she'd set up Lucio. Tomasa was like WTF?

I agree with Dorado Dave that when Lucio gets caught he'll spill the beans about how he got the necklace and other things he knows about La Hiena. I don't think Tomasa will corraborate though -- she's probably too scared to do something so "bold".

I don't particularly like Gardenia so when Fr/Ed blew her off to go on his date with Fernanda I had a good chuckle.

Hijole! Bonney do you need a moment alone? :) I'm glad you enjoyed the bodybuilding scene, and yes, the line is getting shorter for all of us! LOL

"Hijole" doesn't even come close to describing this episode. Gracias Melissa!

Dona Gringuita here is a sappy, romantic fool, so when Ed walks into the barn and clearly has tears in his eyes and his face looks like he's about to break into a sob, I was grasping for the Kleenex. At one point he is fiddling with the sleeves of his sweater which is tied around his neck, and I thought for sure he was going to pull out the necklace and show Nanda. Disappointed again, and I can't wait (but I'll have to)to see how his identity is actually going to be revealed to her.

What a tense moment when she comes to the door and Gardenia answers. Ay yay yay--couldn't have cut the tension with a chain saw.

How many boulders have to hit Gonzo The Dense over the head before he gets a clue about Babs? Is dementia setting in already?

Speaking of dementia--who's got the passport? Did Gardenia keep it or did she give it to Ed. Someone, at some point is going to show it to Nanda, but I'd still love it if Ed pulled out the necklace before that happens.

Dona Gringuita

Gardenia gave it to Fr/Ed. I didn't see where he put it though. I was afraid he put it in his pocket and that Nanda would find it.

Dona Gringuita - Ed doesn't have the necklace anymore. He left it in the barn when he first returned to Mexico. He left at the bottom of the post with their initial on it. But Margarita found it and showed it to Fernanda and that's how Nanda figured out Ed had come back. I'm not sure if Nanda kept, or if Margarita still has it, though.

Thanks for the recap Melissa. Speaking of Ferduardo, they had Brad de Angelina in an ascot on the Today Show this morning. :) I love it, A-Bore-A.

Agree with others, quite dismissive of poor Denia. "Oh, by the way, since you were almost raped last night, take the morning off."

The heat is picking up. They have to get out of that old barn before the heat burns it down. I think that only thing that kept it standing was that sweater. Cools things down a bit. :)
Wow, the avances, how can the advance the plot that quickly.

Bonnie, re... "Backtracking:", I'm sure you'll catch back up to the rest of us in a couple of weeks. Take your time. ;)

JeffMN

Caborita, yes Babs was very cool about it all, wasn't she? Taking the time to brush her hair was great. She certainly didn't fear Lucio, nor was she worried about Tomasa's safety. Gonzo's blundering blithely into the kitchen was comical. A Lucio gets off light if he only has to deal with the cops.

Carlos

Anon 6:50: "Isn't it a bit bizarre that Jacinto and Margarita would go off to Lucio's house knowing the man has a screw loose and knowing he's waving a gun at anyone within 50 yards. " I wondered about that as well. Like hey, don't go over there. I guess you're only supposed to be scared of him in the dark.

Lucio did clean up nice and hit the road. I guess we'll see if he is smarter than the average bear or not. Perhaps he'll go somewhere else to get his money or perhaps have someone else get it for him?
But, didn't Barb more or less tell the jeweler it was her chofer? What if he mentions that to Gonzo after she told Gonzo it was Dam?

And the necklace is worth much more than what Dam stole?
I guess they could build up the balance sheets quickly by selling a few baubles! :)

I wonder if Tomasa knew how bad Barb really was before this time? Tomasa and Denia are tough. Spending a lot of time with a gun to the head and still able to keep functioning.

JeffMN

Hey Melissa, thank you for clarifying. I guess that's what happens when a person comes in late on a TN.

Dona Gringuita

Even though Cad is just loathsome, I just have to laugh. He watches Santi and ABoreA and always jumps out right at the most intimate moment between them.

JeffMN

Thank you Melissa, and I love your names! Don Francuardorito ! and A-bore-A. (Too true.)
So nice to see the horses back. Loved the 4 little red socks they are so cute. Come to think of it, ONCE AGAIN Fernanda is being out-dressed.

(Wondering if Petco sells horse accesories.) And I never even wanted a pony as a little girl. I had no idea one could accesorize them.

Bonney - I noticed the socks too - I thought they were adorable. I wonder if their horses will fall in love too. I can see it now - the horses will have their own sub-plot and talk to each other when Ferduardo is not around.

C'mon, it's no less far-fetched than the scenes with the little girl and her dead Grandma in make believe land on Cuidado!

I am really confused about this issue! Vladimer wants a job at Grupo Lactos????? I thought the meeting is that Pris wants to find out who revealed Anibal took her money. And I thought the papers had something to do with that. Por favor ayudame!

I'm not sure about the papers, but I think Prisci is planting Vlad inside the company to findo out what Anibal did with her money.

But, I could be wrong. I can't get passed the creepy way Vlad looks at his Gordita.

What did Jacinto and Margarita decide about the dead guy? I just can't remember or I missed it.

Putting dim little Vlad in Lactos is Damian's plan, actually. He wants to use him to get back at Barb. At least this is what I understood in between drooling over Colunga...or Sendel, for that matter.

Speaking of horse accessories, they bring miniature horses to the nursing where my mom resides. One horse came in 4 tennis shoes & in his bag of accessories were 4 boots.
Too cute.

Jacinto & Margarita are going to tell Fr/Ed about the body.

great recap, thanks Melissa.

I think someone mentioned it but I wanted to say that at the end of the episode, she didn't say that she feels hate for Eduardo, but that she WOULD feel hate for him if he showed up and it turned out that this was all a scam. OOPS! This is what we all thought from the beginning.

What a great episode. Finally Gardenia knows the truth, and finally Fr/Ed has to face the fact that his big grand plan was incredibly stupid from the very beginning. AND - finally he finds out that she wrote him letters all along too, she didn't just forget about him and he is being a judgmental ass! FINALLY! Now what are you gonna do, Eduardo?

Thanks Ferro, for the clarification. You're absolutely right. It was hypothetical question. I think Freddie is testing the waters, because he's overcome with love for her.

That's a good plan to have Vladimir in GL, but I'm sure they know Vlad is Damian's friend, he was at the wedding. Looking for my beanie.

Tks for the help on that one, I really missed it.

Thanks for a very funny recap, Melissa.

Variopinta, Vlad is going to work at Grupo Lactos as a financial officer. After all, he and Damian were in finance school together, and Damian was in charge of finances. Priscila likes the idea, because Vlad will be able to trace Anibal's stealing of her money. But Damian likes it so Vlad can track down how Barbara cheated him, or maybe Vlad can move money around and trap Babs, or both.

Dorado Dave: As for Lucio telling the jeweler that Babs gave him the necklace, no one will believe him. He's a lowly chauffeur. Tomasa would be too scared to say anything, and if she did, no one would believe her. Everyone will believe Barbara, especially if she cries to Gonzo, and he backs her up.

I don't think the Elizaldes knew Vlad at all. Prisi had never seen him before the wedding. So the others may have no idea he's Vlad's friend. Maybe Vlad just invited him on his own. Or maybe you're right - beanie time.

My disappointment with Barb's time-out-stop-the clock trip to get the money for Looney tunes Lucifer was her return. I was LOL before she sat down to brush her hair, anticipating. Barb's gone to get her fun, and he's waitin' for death. Bang-bang she gets him with the second shot AFter he kills the 'witness'ing cook, pobre.
Now look at what she's left undone. Ciggieman will be just as disappointed as I am.

Fernanda is a lady and she is not going to check his pockets...with his clothes on.

Gardenia has been treated shabbily. He certainly could have taken a few moments to console her while promising sincerely that he will sit down and explain. If Esteve were not on board I think he would loose all sense of the higher goal. The whole barn meeting was all about Fernanda! Wasn't it?

I agree, where's the passion? Smoke in the barn, yes. But when Fern and Fr/Ed kiss, it's way too ho-hum. Time to notch it up a bit.

Can't find my beanie. Maybe they think Vladimir is a wedding crasher.
I'm trying to remember who at the wedding knows Vlad except Pris & Damian. Ursula, but not much of a help.

Anon 1:14, I feel the same way, it seems the actors are doing their job, w/o much feeling. I don't think they like each other much. I'm hoping for much more later.

Miniature horse with boots Variopinta?! I can hear the song..these boots were made for walkin', ta da da da da dah...

Vlad? Work? I don't know about that. He may be able to fake sane but I haven't seen evidence of it. Wouldn't the interview process require Damian be out of the room?

Also on Vladimir - if he is available to work immediately at GL, what has he BEEN doing? How does he pay for that nice apartment?

One word about that sweater everyone hates. He used to finger his necklace when he thought about Fernanda, but now the necklace is gone. It seemed like he was fingering the knot of the sweater in the same way, as if it was a substitute for the necklace.

Thanks for the info Variopinta. Margarita drives me crazy so sometimes I go do something until the scene is over or FF. She's so bossy (or something.)

I thought Lucio would at least cover up the body, a little less chance of finding it.

A moment to thank Paula for the emergency Mon. recap. Ferro, hope you're feeling better. Melissa, thanks for the excellent Tue. recap.
Fr/Ed's sweater tied on? What the...?? Nanda needs a little fashion help as well. I was annoyed with that frilly white blouse OVER a turtleneck sweater.
"Nanda with that drooling catatonic look"--isn't that the same look all us women get while watching TBLMOE??
Denia was shortchanged by Fr/Ed. Hope Esteve can give her some attention and make her feel all better.
La Paloma

Whoa, Bonney Churos! Yeah! What she said! I had to stop reading comments to say, right on sustah! Hohhhhht! After seeing the work out scenes I started to just leave a comment this morning that said "Yah Baby!" Luuuuvin' FC!

Khalilah

Melissa, thank you for the fantastic recap. The comments here are amazing.

I can only add my voice to those saying Gardenia deserved care and compassion after her hideous ordeal. Anyone could see that Denia was hurting and Fr/Ed dismissed her without another thought. Diana in MA

Is Pris supposed to help Vlad get the job at GL? If so, those papers might be his resume.

Melissa - thank you for the recap! and I love your title. LOL I messed up the recording and missed the last minute, and that comment about hating Eduardo. I didn't even understand that part on youtube, so millones de gracias!

Those barn & horse conversation scenes sizzled. For my money, they were far hotter than any scene with satin sheets. The striped sweater did not detract from the hawtness, but it is visually distracting to me.

I also thought Ed said he didn't have Salerosa anymore. Thanks for clearing that up.

How strange that Lucifer didn’t finish burying the body. Just leave it out in the open for anyone to find?!?! I'm surprised he didn't fill the hole and cover it with yard stuff, for camouflage.

How strange that Jacinto & Margs aren't touching it, either, nor did he wipe his fingerprints off the shovel. I guess they don't get CSI down there.

Eduardo sure looked impactado when he learned his mother never forwarded Fernanda’s letters to him. Is it all adding up yet, FrEd? Gardenia's letter? Nanda's letters?

Melissa, thanks again for your always delightful recap.

Why should Jacinto wipe off his fingerprints from the shovel? Rene' was shot with a gun!

I am tired of the barn/stable scenes, let get a move on.

Teflon Barbie is a piece of work but I think her surface is beginning to show some scratches.

Nandia needs a hairdo and wardrobe makeover. Poor Denia needs a hug.

rsk

Ah yes....''my baby, she wrote me a letter...'' You could see the wheels in Fr'ed's head starting to turn when Nanda told him that she had written to Ed. And yes, he is so lovestruck that he had no time to console Gardenia. When Nanda walked in , he seemed to want to get away from Gardenia as fast as he could. Fr'ed's a man on a mission, but the mission statement appears to be changing. At first, it was bring down the evil Elizandes, but now it's win back Nanda. I think the sweater is distracting Fr'ed, too. Jeans and a tee....try that look. File the striped sweater tied around your neck under ''what not to wear.''

Well, Lucio's got the gun, and if the police find the shovel with Jacinto's fingerprints on it, they'll think he did the shooting or at the very least was accomplice.

I thought Fernanda's frills sobre the turtleneck reflected her scitzoid feelings toward Fr/ed. Still!

re: the letters;

Eddy now knows that Soledad did not sent Nanda's letters to him, she did not say, but the inference was that she had rec'd none from him thru Soledad. While this does not excuse some of what the Elizaldes did, it places much of the blame for losing contact with Fernanda on his own mother, which he must be realizing. Remember, Soledad told little Eddy that there was a a social divide between them, and that they could never be a future for them. Maybe Esteve can explain it so that he can understand it. What a fried he is.

If I remember correctly, Denia gave little Eddy a letter just before he boarded the bus, and that is the only one that she wrote.

I forgot to mention Dam's black t-shirt and semi-tight jeans. Woo hoo. I wasn't into the pink t-shirt so much. Too bad he's a bad guy.

rsk - I can almost guarantee that Nanda will get a hair makeover, whenever her character moves to the next 'etapa.' It's in the telenovela rules. With some exceptions, of course, like Marichuy in CCEA and probably a few others.

Doris, I really like the most recent picture of your pup. In this photo she has almost a defiant look, though I'm sure that's not the case. How's her puppyhood going?

Carlos

Doris, i think soledad put all the letters in a box and lifted the rug in lili's room and lifted the floorboard and put the box of letters in there. she kept talking to lili but she was all drugged so i don't know if she would remember. but on the other hand, soledad also put candy in the floorboard and if i'm not mistaken lili did take candy.

Caray, caray......... the best place. The recappers are great at precisely interpreting what is happening in the novela....I discuss the novela with a spanish speaking friend and she says all of u are right on the money...So thanks so much......Hope all that were sick are feeling better....Fernanda is so falling for Fr/ed and when she does find out who he really is she will be angry at first then think on it a couple of days and forgive him...as most women do....especially for love..... i am hoping soon that someone smashes cadmillo on the head with a shovel...what an ass....if anyone in this novela needs a smack down....its him....he has been almost as bad as barbie.....I try to think of what may happen in furture chapeters but it turns so crazy at times that i know i will just have to wait..... I too am waiting for the inevitable Camilo smackdown. I'm sure Santiago will have even more reason to deliver it soon, the way Camilo is stalking Aurora. Jacinto already has motive enough to beat Camilo to death. Boatloads of bad karma in Camilo's account.
I forgot to mention - applause to the producers for the Aurora underwear scene.

JeffMN: The necklace, per Melissa, is worth $800K pesos, or $615K DOLLARS. Damian is being accused of stealing $3 million DOLLARS. So the necklace is not worth more than they think Damian took.

I don't think Soledad put the letters under the floorboards, there would have been too many. I think they were in the house & Margarita took Soledad's things out of the house, so I think she has the letters.

Anon 5:24 - It was $8,000,000 - $8 Million pesos. But yes, it still only converts to approximately $615,000.

It looked to me like Santiago has been swiping Camilo's orange makeup and wiped on a little bit too much last night. Looked like he was wearing a mask!

Is it just me or does it look like he was wearing a different wig as well? The first one looks like he stole it from Shirley Temple (maybe too obscure a reference for younger readers). The one last night looks like it belongs to Harpo Marx.

Some find him endearing but he really annoys me, though not as much as Camilo.

He did look like Harpo! That's funny. I say beware of men who wear those scarf things let alone witih with a sweater vest.

Thanks Anon 5:24 and Melissa. My wife also pointed out my mistake. :) So, coffers won't get completely filled, but if that is $615,000, I think her whole jewelry collection may match the $3 million. Selling some of that and some horses, back in business. :)

Variopinta, I agree, I think someone pointed that out when Margarita cleaned out the house that it looked like she probably has the letters.

Also, now that Denia is somewhat in the know, we have to get everyone together (Jacinto, Margarita, Denia, Ed, eSteve, Lili, Mighty Martina) and figure out what we all know and start putting the pieces together. That means, we have to have eSteve put everything together. :)

JeffMN

More about the letters-
I'm pretty sure that theyare in a box that Marg took from the house. Wasn't ther one bundle that said Fernanda", and another that said "Eduardo"?
The letter that Denia wrote, Eddy has.

ITA with you, Chris, on applause for the gratutitous ligerie modeling by Aurora

Melissa: That title is LOL funny! Thanks for a terrific recap, especially that barn scene. --I do believe Fernanda kept the medalion since it was hers to begin with.
========
I will forgive Nanda the drooling cuz like any self-respectin' female, the girl couldn't he'p it. Ed gets high marks on the sensual smiles and the penetrating stares..... Those stares rock me to the core. YUM! What I don't forgive Eddie for is wearing a sweater with convict stripes.

As for Vlad, hubby seemingly thought he could be a professional J'ai Alai player. I don't see how that would reconcile with an accountant's job unless J'ai Alai is seasonal or something? Played on weekends?

OT for CARLOS - Our puppy Sophie is a sweetie. I think in that pose she was looking at a bird. I need to take new photos, as she is growing like a weed. Up to 12 lbs now, at 6 mos. old. House-training is coming along much better after a UTI diagnosis & treatment! She was spayed last week, and did very well post-op. She's a very cuddly dog. (VBgrin)

Hello the letters are in the personal items....Margarita and jacinto took when they cleaned Soleidads house after she passed...remember the wagon they were using to load all her stuff to take whereever.... the last item the man put on the wagon were two shoe boxes tied together.......the letters i bet.......

Good memory, anon 6:49, I'd forgotten about the cart. Even the discovery of the letters does NOT excuse Eddy's treatment of Fernanda. I'm wondering how he's gonna pull this off. Well, we know he couldn't without his life coach, Esteve...

Jardinera```Maybe Vlad is a pro athlete who covered all his bases by getting a degree in accounting. Friends of ours [I used to teach with her...she teaches h.s. Spanish] have a son who got a full athletic scholarship to play baseball at George Washington Univ. He got his degree in finance, and then he was picked up by a minor league team. [His cousin plays for the Mets] . Oddly, he is now neither in business nor sports . He is a Washington D.C. cop. [He considered becoming a border guard since his Spanish is pretty good thanks to his mamacita.] So maybe Vlad is a pro player with an accounting degree. It's possible. He does seem a little wifty to be an accountant. Accountants usually like to have all their ducks in a row, and now of Vlad's ducks are in a row...They are just swimming around helterskelter.

Pris bullied Anibal into hiring the accountant of her choice. If he didn't, she said she'd tell Poweer Meelk that he'd stolen her money, and would they really want to do business with the sort of person who steals from his wife?

So I think Vlad is pretty much a shoo-in for the job. :)

However, Pris is only talking to Vlad because of the money; meanwhile poor Vlad thinks they're practically married.

You gotta love Barb's new strategy for dealing with problems: "Damian did it." I wonder how much mileage she will try to get out of that.

"Who opened a new carton of milk before finishing the old one?" "Damian did it!"

"Who left the room with the TV on?" "Damian did it!"

I'm back to thinking Vlad is just ditzy rather than a true stalker. Nothing about him seems eeeevile, just clutzy and cuddly. I do love the way he pampers Prissy --totally 180 degrees opposite AnyBalls, and she does need to be pampered. Somehow I think deep down she appreciates that pampering but is too proud or too set on her own agenda to acknowledge this.

Julie - ROFLOL!

Was it the Youtube version of last night's episode that showed the preview of Pris's car all covered with post-it notes courtesy of Vlad? (or did I dream that???) I for sure have not read spoilers or watched ahead of schedule.

I would like to give Gardenia a hug. The poor girl has been through so much. I like Fernanda's hairdo the way it is...

Do you guys ever notice when Babs is a little nervous she brushes her hair intensely and her eyes quickly move left to right several times like she is speed reading.

Time for Eduardo to make it right to the girls.... He has been a bad, bad man. ;)

Ibarramedia

Jardinera, I would support the Vlad the Ditz theory too. He is a bit creepy but mostly just over anxious like an untrained puppy who wants to lick everyone's face. Pris could use someone who wants to play adore, adore all day. For sure Anibal has no heart to melt or even warm up.

CherylNM: ITA!

Cheryl, that was very sweetly said. He really is like an unfettered pup. Huh, Doris?I love this actor as evil crazy, but he's almost as good being cute crazy. I almost fell out of my chair over the postit notes. I love this show. OK Cheryl, are you familiar with Octavio Paz? Carlos
