Tontas on Christina Show, Discussion, June 22, 2009

We can discuss the Tontas Cristina Show here. I don't intend to recap it. If anyone wants to summarize any important part, adalante!

From the Cristina web site, it sounds like the guests will be Jaime Camil, Valentino Lanus, Jacque Bracamontes, and Luis Manuel Avila (Sven/Zamora). Others might make appearances as well.

Jacque will probably talk about her new Televisa novela, Sortilegio. Jaime will probably talk about his next project, Los exitos Perez, based on the Argentinian Los exitos Pels. He might also discuss his movie, Recien Cazado which was filmed in Paris in late 2007 and will be released in theaters in Mexico soon. And Valentino? I guess we'll find out.

am I the only one who thinks Jackie and Jaime totally need to get together and have a telenovela love child? I love those two! haha, sooo cute together. You can tell they're great friends. They are one of my favorite telenovela on screen (and maybe off) couples. Jaime had a beard on the promos for Cristina, but he STILL looks hot! haha.

I saw the first 20 minutes of the program. I've never recaped before so I hope my Spanish was good enough to be correct.
Jaime had this huge beard and was wearing a black and yellow sweater with bright blue pants. He talked a little about his next flim and that he would be in Argentina. I think he was dressing in character for his next film. Jaime liked working with the director, who by the way directed "La Fea Mas Bella". He along with the other actors was encouraged to add to his character.
Jackie looked beautiful and elegant in a gray dress with ruffles. It was apparent that they had a great relationship and were good friends. Jackie stated the hardest thing about working with Jaime was that he made her laugh so much. They showed clips of the novela . Christina asked Jackie about her past relationship with Valentino and was it hard to work with him since they dated 5 years. Jackie stated that it was over, in the past and they both had moved on. When she found out that he was going to be in the novela, she was a little worried, but knew what a professional he was and that they could work together.
Valentino came out next dressed in black. He complimented Jackie and Jaime. He said that Jaime was a perfectionist and great to work for. Valentino confessed that where Jaime was a perfectionist, he was "all over the place". Then before the commercial break Christina asked if Jackie and Valentino were going to get back together again because, Christina felt that there was still a connection. I have to add, that when Valentino first came out and sat down jackie moved closer to him on the couch. That is all I saw. I hope this is ok.

I saw part of the show and thought Jackie looked beautiful and was charming - I loved her laugh! Not understanding most of the dialog, I thought Jaime seemed like a lot of fun. I really like Valentino, he has a warm smile. I also echo what Anon 7:22 said. Jackie definitely sat much closer to Valentino. I thought that spoke volumes. I left after the singing started but glad I watched.

I went in and out of the room but saw much of this. Jackie did move pretty close to Valentino and he didn't seem to mind. Jaime also teased them about possibly getting back together, but Jackie got back at him later by teasing him about another actress/singer who is best friends with Jaime and who he says is like his sister. She is really good friends with Valentino and apparently spent a lot of time on the set. Jaime denies anything more than friendship and also made it clear that he and his former girlfriend of 5 years would not be getting back together when Cristina asked. He stated that he is unlucky in love like Jackie.

They all spoke a lot about Jackie's family. Her dad and his football coaching of the Chivas and his sportscasts; her lovely mom who was in the audience; and her siblings who are equally beautiful. Apparently, the novela was shot near where her family lives and they were very welcoming to the cast and treated them very well. Jaime gave a big shout out to them.

Jackie's dad came out and sat on the couch after giving Valentino a big hug, a big hug and kiss for his little girl and Cristina and handshakes to Jaime and to the actor who played Zamora (I missed when he first came out). "Zamora", in tight jeans, sang an upbeat song that had everyone up dancing.

And there was lots of teasing Jackie about her current novela with William Levy. (The pictures from the novela of Jackie and William looked pretty good. They are both gorgeous.) The boys seemed pretty jealous of pretty boy Levy. Said they couldn't compete and called him the Brad Pitt of Latin America. All joking, but you know they think it's true. :)

All in all, it looks like they had a lot of fun on Tontas, and despite Jackie and Valentino's history, they seemed to handle it very well. Not many people could work with an ex so closely, having to kiss them and be immersed in romantic themes, and be able to laugh about it.

Everyone covered this quite well. Add that next week will be part 2. So there'll be more Tontas on Cristina next week. Cristina mentioned that Tio Meno will be on there next week. Not sure how many more will be on again next week.

Jackie was beautiful and Valentino looked handsome. He has a very nice personality.
I'm looking forward to part 2.
Somewhere inside that strange looking man was Dr.Plastico I'm sure. He still has a beautiful smile!

Next week the actor who played Tio Meno will be on because Cristina is doing a show about gays in "the third age" (trecer edad). Older gay people and the particular issues they face like acceptance from kids, access to grandkids, and having the right to care for and make decisions for a long-time partner who is ill or dying. A pretty serious topic actually. I don't think any other cast members will be on.

I loved the Tiburones song! He's a good performer, and I liked how the others were dancing along. Valentino is a pretty good dancer! Also I liked that Valentino wore black, which makes him look infinitely more guapo than any other color, and he seems like a fun and easy-going guy. His promotion was for his "Veritas" kids' movie, which is opening in the U.S. in August.

Jacky's mother is gorgeous! Wow. I missed the siblings, but did tape the show, so will go back and check it out. Jaime, no, did not like that big, fuzzy beard. The three of them seemed to have a lot of fun together. I wish Alicia and Marissa had been on though. I will miss this cast, but will look foward to William Levy and Jacky in their new show.

If you understood that much on the Cristina show, you SHOULD be a recapper. Your Spanish comprehension is very good.

Remember, most of us, from time to time, will say "I missed that" or "can someone help me with that". Heck, I don't always understand what's said in English, much less Spanish.

So come out of the shadows and let us know who you are. And comment often. Clearly your Spanish is quite good.

Did anyone notice a little tug-of-war for attention, between Jaime and Jacque?

Cristina started with Jaime's projects, and Jacque broke in, what about Tontas? C. said, "We'll get to that."

Later C. focused on Jacque, and Jaime kept breaking in with his tontarias. C. kept redirecting attention back to Jacque.

Then the conversation shifted back to Jaime. So Jacque broke in, but Jaime gave her a rather pointed "Con permiso?" As if to say, "Do you mind? I was talking."

Paula, not sure if it seemed too bad. Seems like a lot times on Cristina recaps they like to talk over each other. Also, does look like next week will be what Vivi in DC said. I guess Meno may be there, but it will be about older gay people. When I replayed, I caught the commercial for next week.

While I had given up on regularly watching this show, I did enjoy seeing the cast on Cristina. I think that Jamie and Jacque had more chemistry in real life than they did on the show. They were very easy with one another, teasing, and their body language showed them to be very comfortable and friendly. I thought it was interesting that Jacque kept teasing him about his feelings for Angelica. The song they showed between Jaime and Angelica (probably from the time they were on Cristina after LFMB) was terrific. They really have performance chemistry.

Also found it interesting when Jaime defended the fact that the part of Santiago was similar to Don Fernando, and that he felt as an actor he didn't have to play a different character each time, but could repeat. NJ sue
