MEPS Monday August 24 - Flor JUST SAY IT ALREADY. Sigh. Alonso would be so proud.

Wow I just opened up the word document from the last time I recapped, it was the night Liliana was kidnapped trying to get back into the manicomio while the three stooges spent 20 minutes talking before going outside to look for her. That feels like a year ago. On with the show –

Anibal puts on a great act of being so nice, a loving husband, polite and friendly to the help, then announces that the baby is a boy! His name will be Vladimir! I was waiting for someone to ask why that name, since they all knew Vladimir Sr. at work and how he got fired, etc, but they were all too stupid to ask. Well, not Fernanda, but she is keeping her mouth shut about everything now.

Gardenia shows up at Jacinto and Margarita’s house to find Flor there, the two Lactos employees (Gardenia even makes the lame Lactos uniform look sexy) accuse each other of being the more chismosa. After Gardenia yells at Flor for wanting to tell Fernanda about Fr/Ed’s true identity, Flor says “yeah well SHE WAS KISSING EDUARDO” and runs out to go back to work.

Anibal is cracking me up with his nice guy act, it’s the first time I’ve ever enjoyed his character. Pris gets a call, Anibal takes the phone and sees the caller ID and asks out loud, “why is Damian calling you?” She then HAS to take the call since she got called out, she tries to hint to Damian that she can’t talk right now. He demands help from her to get out of some of his problems. She says she’ll talk to him later. Fernanda asks what Damian wanted, Pris says to tell her about his marriage ending. Fernanda says “oh I didn’t realize you two were such good friends!” Busted.

Fr/Ed wants to tell Fernanda that Lily is ok, but Esteve wisely says it’s a bad idea. It is a bad idea, because then he’d have to tell HOW he saw her, etc. They discuss whether Fr/Ed should just tell Fernanda everything about his deal with Barbara then, so she can know about Lily. Fr/Ed says his plan is to rescue Lily, then run away with Erika to start over somewhere else. Esteve says the only way he is going to win back the total confidence of Fernanda is to tell her everything about his deal with La Hiena.

Barbara pretends to care about Fernanda’s marriage trouble, she tells Gonzalo that perhaps Fer and Damian should go to couple’s therapy. Gonzalo says no, butt out, he promised to stay out of it so she should too.

While Fernanda is giving instructions to another servant to clean Santiago’s room but leave it the same for when he returns (someday), Tomasa tells her that she has two visitors, Erika and Flor. She goes to see Flor first, who tells her she has to tell her something URGENT. This guarantees that it will take forever to actually tell. She will tell her how urgent it is 50 times, but then not actually tell her. I’m having Querida Enemiga Alonso/Lorena flashbacks.

Barbara tells Damian by phone to string his marriage along for a few more months. He says he has tried everything but can’t do it!

I was right – since Flor took so long telling Fernanda how urgent her news was, Erika got bored and came looking for Fernanda and interrupts. Fernanda then tells Flor to wait, even though she knows Flor has URGENT news, while she goes to hear what Erika has to tell her. While Flor is waiting in the main room, Barbara comes down the stairs. Flor hides under the stairs so Barbara doesn’t see her.

Erika’s big important news is to deliver Fernanda’s wedding invitation. Fer doesn’t really care. She ends up telling Erika that she and Damian are through.

Damian is at his cousin Jacobo’s office, he grabs him by the shirt and tells him to fix this legal problem, he refuses to go back to jail!

Fernanda doesn’t want to get into the Damian story with Erika, it’s a long story.

Loavely calls Camilo to tease him and try to lead him on, he blows her off and hangs up. She vows revenge. Martina rolls her eyes, as do I.

Since Fernanda said she WASN’T going to talk about Damian, of course she talks about Damian. She says there is zero chance of fixing the relationship, that’s why she gave up on it. She feels good now. Erika leaves, now it’s Flor’s turn. Flor tells her AGAIN how urgent it is, then gets up to close the door, then wastes more time. Of course, the door bursts open, it’s Erika again, and look who’s here! Franco! Fer obviously doesn’t care. Fr/Ed’s phone rings, it’s Jacinto telling him that Flor is going to tell Fer his true identity. Fr/Ed mildly panics. He hangs up and very smoothly gets the group separated, sending Erika with Fernanda to get some blueprints from the Lactos office and offering to take Flor back to work himself. Flor looks worried.

At the Elizalde country house, Barbara arrives to meet up with Damian (I don’t remember hearing them plan to meet there, but they are both there). The little girl asks Barbara if she knows where grandpa is, he hasn’t been seen in days and they are thinking about calling the cops. Barb remembers kicking him down the hill. She lies to the girl and says he told her he was going to go visit some relatives. The girl immediately believes her and goes back inside. Barb asks Damian how Fernanda found out about his legal problem. Damian says for sure it was his cousin.

Eduardo tells Flor that if she reveals his identity, she will be putting Lily in danger.

Jacinto and Margarita sit and worry.

Ed wants to know why when the Elizaldes, Camilo and Anibal and Barbara, all lie and cheat and manipulate nobody says anything, but when he, the son of the cook, has a secret all of a sudden all must be revealed? He rants on about class unfairness for a bit. He says he no longer wants revenge but by the time he realized it Franco Santoro was in place and it was too late. He has to continue on to save Liliana. He doesn’t think he’ll ever tell Fernanda the truth because she’ll never forgive him. Flor is convinced to not tell Fernanda about his identity.

Erika suggest Esteve as a galan for Fernanda, Fernanda hits her and says NO WAY. Dang huge diss on Esteve. He’ll have to comfort himself by rolling around with 10/10 Venus. Poor guy. Erika confesses that Fr/Ed doesn’t seem to be forgetting about his past love like she had hoped he would, she’s becoming a bit worried about it. Of course Fernanda is interested in that but can’t say anything.

Flor tells Fr/Ed that if Eduardo were to show up and offer his love, Fernanda never forgot him and would go against anything her family said to be with him.

Damian is sure that Fernanda hasn’t said anything to Barbara about Damian because she must have some plan.

Fr/Ed remembers his talk long ago where Fernanda said she would feel hate for Eduardo if he showed up again. He tells Flor that Fernanda would not welcome Eduardo anymore, she would hate him.

Fernanda is sure all will turn out ok with Liliana, Erika shouldn’t worry about it. Erika says again that Fernanda will need a man in her life, then confesses that she is just DYING to hit the sheets with Franco. Fernanda is aghast! The things you think about Erika! Puhleeze, like she hasn’t had daydreams about it for weeks. Or a week. Or however much time has actually passed on this show.

Flor begs Fr/Ed to help Fernanda defeat Barbara, Fr/Ed says that’s what he is doing. She says that even as Franco Santoro, he owns Fernanda’s heart – her eyes light up whenever he’s around. He says even that way isn’t possible, the truth will come out some day and she would never forgive him.

Barbara tells Damian to find a place to hide out, he is under her protection. This, obviously, doesn’t comfort him. She wants everything cool for a bit while Gonzalo puts all his stuff in her name, she doesn’t want anything to mess that up. Damian is worried she will screw him over like she did before. They decide again that Fernanda won’t say anything to anyone, especially Gonzalo, because she must have some plan. Damian asks why he doesn’t just disappear now, Barbara says she needs his help with something.

Aurora sings to herself… dammit I thought I had won the lottery and had an Aurora-free night. She tells the nun that she’s so happy, she did the right thing by completely denying a very kind, loving, and generous man the right to know his own child. How thoughtful and Christian of you Aurora! Ugh.

Barbara tells Damian to go to the convent and pretend to be Santiago’s best friend in order to get Aurora out of there.

Tomorrow – hopefully Barbara will have a good excuse as to why she is interested in Aurora, surely Damian will want to know. I’m sure she won’t tell him that she once shot him in the leg to get RID of Aurora, now it was all a waste. Also – Fr/Ed finds out that Damian is out of the picture.

Hi! I'm a lurker and just wanted to say that I enjoy these recaps! I started watching "Cuidado" when I was on assignment in Puerto Rico, and then got into MEPS a few weeks ago. I am still learning Spanish, but watching the novelas helps!

I missed some of the early episodes, but I was so hoping that Damian would turn out to be a good guy afterall. I'm hoping that he breaks free of Barbara at some point soon. This "Santi's best friend" plan is awful! (IMHO!)

Thanks again for great recaps!

Great recap, Chris! You haven't lost your fast ball.

Gardenia accuses Flor of being a gossip. How rich is that!

There could be a teeny problem with Barbwire's plan to send Damian to extricate Abora from the convent. The weepy one remembers seeing Damian and Barbwire doing the nasty on his wedding night. Plus Abora lived in the Elizalde place a while. Don't think she ever saw any evidence of love lost between Santi and the phone-thrower to back up the claim of their being BFF. Abora may not have a lot of faith in him. This isn't really a plan worthy of La Hiena. But, then, with Abora's double-digit IQ, who knows?

Gonzo told Evil Barbie to stay out of Dam and Fer's marriage?? Holy Moses! He must've grown a pair AND a brain. I'm shocked. Truly. Shocked.

I had the same reaction when I saw Awah-wah. Lost the lottery. I wanted to be Awah-wah free too. Now if Damian takes her away we'll have non-stop crying. Isn't forcing us to watch more Awah-wah sobbing against the Geneva Conventions or something (cruel & unusual punishment...)?

There is something about Flor that is just irritating. I think it's the self-righteousness.

And Whew! For once great timing on Erika's part. Both times!

Thanks for the great recap!

Hi Ferro. Always enjoy your recaps and your straight from the shoulder asides. For some reason this ultra-brief paragraph really cracked me up.

"Jacinto and Margarita sit and worry."

Jeez...how many times has that happened?! At least once every episode, verdad?!

You always make me laugh, Chris, and that's a great way to start the day (or end it).

Woo! It's been a couple of weeks since I'm been here... dunno how often I can still sneak in, but grateful I had time today... LOL I knew you'd mention Lorena and Alonso, Ferro! And I was so mad when Fernanda put off Flor to look at wedding invitations and then let Franco split them up. REALLY mad. Couldn't she see that Flor was in distress??

I love Florecita. Maybe that swindled woman's son will take a liking to her.

Venus and Steve - yawn - I think its high time the two of them got stuck overnight in a meat locker or elevator, if that's what it will take to get them to tell each other how they feel.

Thanks for the recap, my dvr ran out last night just as Ahwawa's scene came on. I was impactada when I read that Barbedwire is sending Damien to the convent to get her. No doubt Damien will convience dumbass to leve with him.

I felt bad for that little girl who was looking for her grandfather.

I thought that Franco Santoro using the "class card" was a little over the top. He could've just told Flor why it was so important that this secret had to be kept. His being the cook's son had nothing to do with it.

Can't wait for tonight's episode.

Holas a todas! A belated gracias to Pasofino & Jardinera for last week's recaps and an on-time thanks to Chris for my early morning snark. Loved the line "however much time has passed on this show" since it encapsulates a frustration we've all had. We just have no flippin' idea!! Days, weeks, months...who knows? We've been reduced to obsessing over ghastly wardrobe changes to figure out when to flip the calendar.

Dam getting dissed all the way around has been a true pleasure. Just love the steam coming out of those ears! Babs will take care of him one way or the other but if I were Dam, I wouldn't take comfort in that.

And OMG, someone FINALLY acknowledges the old man is MIA. Good gravy, that was surreal last night. It's almost as if the script writers suddenly remembered they started a plot line & forgot to finish it.

Note to Esteve: redheads (even fake ones) should never wear pink. Nor should men. I don't care how metrosexual it is.

I like Flor. She's a little self-righteous but she tries hard to stand her ground & she doesn't let her fears completely overwhelm her. Unlike that snivelling Aurora (ha! "hit the lottery for an Aurora-free night"--good one). You can bet Aurora will blindly accept Dam as her new BFF.

The unmasking of Fr/Ed has been delayed again. Let's move that train out of the station so we can see our lovely pair together. BTW, the twisted beach make-out scene they squished in between ads: very sexy but it looked very uncomfortable for Nanda. Turn around, girl, and grab that man!!! I know where my hands would be. (think chest-to-chest, belly-to-belly melding...where else would your hands go but firmly on those incredible buns? hubba hubba)

oh dear...how the heck am I going to get back to work now?

[sigh]

Great recap Ferro! I've lost track of the time for Old Dude Down the Hill. Has it been a week or more? At least they finally mentioned him.

Why does Dam trust Barb? She shot him in the leg. Maybe he's forgotten that. Poor Pris. That was really awkward.

If I never have to look at Aboroa again that would be great.

Flor needs to get a life and get her nose out of everyone else's.

Hi Julie. I was wondering how your new job was going. Hope everything is ok.

Very funny recap, Chris!

Well, I guess they can only show Erika from the neck up, now. She must be really showing!

Does anyone else think Flor is the spitting image of Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched?

Jane

Loved the recap Ferro. I really enjoyed last night's episode. It was totally overdosed with caras impactadas, my favorite being when Santi told Fr/Ed about Flor revealing his identity, he glared at her and she stared back in horror knowing she was busted. That whole scene was awesome. I also like how Flor scuttled around the stairs trying to avoid Barbara, very smart of her.

Julie, great to hear from you!

Chris, Thanks for the super and hilariously funny recap. You clearly know these characters well. Your title serves to remind that there are certain TN principles that remain constant from show to show. I think we'd all be shocked if a character such as Flor just got straight to the point before an interruption intervenes to delay the sharing of important plot-changing information. That said, I'm enjoy watching the frustrated squirming and agonizing that Flor engages in as no one takes the time to pay attention to her. Well at least she captured Eddie's attention.

Carlos

Thanks, Chris, great, snarky 'cap.

Well, it looks like the pace has picked up, lotsa stuff happening, and high time. Errorika is so annoying, she just blasts in on Fer, at the office, the hacienda, whenever, wherever possible with her stupid, incessant lilting giggling. The actress really looks pregnant to me, even above the belt, if that's possible.

I'm so glad that Marcario has been "resurrected" in the plot, Babs will somehoe be held accountable for his death. I'm thinking that she will be brought down by her blunders as much as by Eddy tracking her down. She's returned needlessly to the weekend hacienda (why no name for this gorgeous place?), formed a NEW alliance with Damian (did he forget about her previous cheatings and double-crosses, and the still-sore bullet hole?) to play him as a friend of Santi?! Que the infierno?

Loved the beach scene with Silvia and Colunga. Not that confortable a pose, but it looked like fun to me!

I was hoping that Venus would pester Caaamii a bit more, and she really should have Martina on the other phone.

NetGirl- no need to lurk- join the fun!

I just posted but I don't know where it went.

Chris: Welcome back - you haven't missed a beat. Loved the title - as a huge QE fan you hit just the right note. Terrific recap.

Fr/Ed's stare is mesmerizing, isn't it? Had I been Flor, I would have completely melted on the spot.

Without anything to throw, Dam stooped to pushing the little girl's lamb out the way. I wonder if he improvised that? Great touch from a scene-stealing actor.

Is anyone in the family still in doubt of Pris' baby daddy identity? Outside of AB (and possibly Barbie) hoping the biggest anvil is reserved for Ani. Blech.

Diana in MA

Thanks for the recap, Chris. It was a fun read.

Jane - Gladys Kravitz ... yes! LOL

I'm glad someone finally is looking for the Old Guy/abuelo, too.

Camilo's blond streaks have grown out and his orange glow is fading. I wonder if this signals some impending change in his character?

Doris, I'm just hoping he is going to have an altercation with a heavily laden pie cart. Squish.... I'd actually prefer to see Fr/Ed beat the tar out of him.

What is it with redheads and pink? Remember that horrible pink dress that Snofia wore?

Thanks, Ferro~~You have still got it. Ah yes, memories of Alonso/Alonso/Aloneandslow. Yesterday was the first day of the fall semester, and after teaching 3 classes nonstop , I was tired. Therefore, I fell asleep on the sofa and only saw bits and pieces of this episode. [Darn...I missed the ''twisted beach scene.'' Was it anything like Beach Blanket Bingo starring Annette and Frankie or the beach scenes bwtween Gidget and Moondoggie ? I have given up on any romantic love scenes on this show [except for that montage at the end in which we see a masterful kiss between Ed and Fer mixed in among a lot of lame ,fumbling, bumbling, grappling scenes of Gonzolold and Babs, Caaamiii and various victims, and Santi and Abora. Soooo...I have found an answer ...and the answer is... Guadalupe on Youtube...threefourths of which is kissing scenes featuring 20 year old Ed Yanez and Adela Noriego. They look like 20somethings and kiss like 15 year olds who have just discovered this pleasant activity. I could read their thoight bubbles [''I can't believe that we get paid to do THIS.''] They are Kissing Energizer Bunnies ...The scenes just go on and on and on. And I must say that Fc has met his match as King of the Kiss. Maybe Ed is Prince of the Kiss. I haven't seen that much necking since Kippy Bittner's surprise sixteenth birthday party. Julie~~I missed your posts. Hope that the new job is going well. Did you catch the first 2 episodes of our favorite 1960's American telenovela ...Mad Men ?

The beach kissing thing was strange, Fernanda looked like her neck didn't really bend that way but some guy behind the camera was yelling "keep kissing we need 30 seconds of this". She looked very uncomfortable.

also thank you everyone for the nice comments.

Tks Chris, fuuunny recap.

1st a question. When Erika suggested Esteve for Fernanda, she said "partidazo", hope the spelling is correct. I'm sure this is a form of par o pareja, but anyone know how you would translate it? It's not in the dictionary.

When Fernanda told the criada to clean Santiago's room, she also said to take Damian's things to his mom's house. Good riddance.

Damian said "back to jail". Do we know he spent time in la cárcel?

Oh my, one night w/o Aurora's tears.
novelera, of course she'll go with Damian, the dimwit trusts Babs after seeing them congressing.

Chris, I got lost awhile while thinking of hitting the sheets with Fr/Ed, suspiros.

In the avances, loved the "From here to Eternity" beach scene.

Thank you Chris, welcome back. And hello NetGirl.
What I found sureal about the scene at the country house was Damian pushing the little girl's bo-peep off in the backside JUST like Barb did to her abuelo.

OF COURSE Ahbora will smile as she takes Damian's hand to be led to any unknown fate. Especially if he raises his voice and shows anger or displeasure. She's just that kind of gal.

Thanks, Chris. Good job fleshing out for me the several scenes in which I only partially caught the dialogue.

So far fetched for Damian to be the one who retrieves Abora. How is that going to happen and what is Babs going to do with her when Abora's sprung? Is Babs that close to getting Gonzo's kids' inheritance and running away? (Of course, as you noted, Chris, telling the passage of time in this TN is tricky). This move of tapping Dam as her cohort (again) is puzzling at the moment. Maybe Babs strategic skills are slipping?

I kind of like Flor's Dudley Do-Right character and her sputtering indignation. She's a hoot when she's all wound up.

Ericka's interruption timing is flawless as usual. One reason we know we will never see her walking down the aisle for a wedding with Franco is that there would be no way to shoot that scene without a lot of shubbery to conceal her growing middle. So for this and other reasons, this scam of an engagement has got to come to an end.

Great day to everyone.

Thanks, Chris, for another great recap, with your very funny and very true observations (encapsulated in the title).

For those who are wondering if Damian forgot Barbara shot him, remember Barbara said she did it to make Fernanda wait on him hand and foot, and he apparently bought that line of bull. It even sort of worked for a few episodes, until Damian's "personality" turned Fer off.

Except for that one time when he fiddled with the controls at the milk factory, Damian's plans never seem to work out, so I'm guessing that as dumb as Abora is, Damian won't be able to just take her out of the convent.

I was glad Fr/Ed brought up Father Bosco's name, in explaining to Flor why Soledad's body was moved. Maybe if Fernanda ever does find out the truth, the good Father can reappear to counsel her that as bad as Eduardo may have been, she should just go ahead and marry him, since there are millions of telenovela viewers waiting for the wedding (or maybe some other equally convincing reason) :)

Wow, lots going on, thanks for the awesome recap!

I hope when Flor gets her chance to tell her urgent news (Fer is not going to foget and will ask) that she will rat out Gardenia and say she kiss Fr/Ed he didn't start that kiss at all! It will serve Denia right! She is just way to childish. I'm glad Marg and Jacinto are pissed at her now.

Variopinta, the -azo ending usually gives an added emphasis to the word it's added to. An en example I can think of is Lety's dad in LFMB referring to his new car as a carrazo, or a super or very striking auto. So it sounds like she means a super partida though your instinct that she means a super or striking pair makes the most sense.

Susanlynn, have you ever seen Poldark? It was on Masterpiece Theater ages ago,. I believe it has everything you like in a show and then some. It even seemed to me about half the time it was in a foreign language as well.

Carlos

Variopinta: Partido usually means match, as in Estif will make a great match for Fernanda and is commonly used by mothers trying to marry off their daughters. Carlos is right about the "azo" just emphasizing the word.

Chris, another excellent recap, thanks.

HGR, you are correct with the Dudley Do-Right comment, fits perfectly.

I fear that Dam will lead Abora (as in lamb) to slaughter with his evil mind - this does not bode well.

I LOL when Dam moved the lamb along with a shove to the lamb's back side and then wiped his hand on his pants - what jerk!

If Erika gets to walk down the aisle she will have to carry the world's largest bridal bouquet. I wish they had replaced her early on, she is such a distraction in her current state.

rsk

Carlos: Poldark! Wow, that's a blast from the BBC past. My local library has the series on DVD & I enjoyed them. Very dramatic, steeped in history & a little cheesy on the staging but, it was the 1970's so what can you expect.

Maggarita

The job is going ok... just super-ultra busy. On the one hand, it's nice to be needed. On the other hand, yeesh!! Not sure I want to be needed that much!! Oh well.

No, Susanlynn, I haven't seen Mad Men. No cable. It's a bummer, but I know I'll have many more chances...

Redheads + pink: Reminds me of the Molly Ringwald movie "Pretty in Pink." (sucked) The redheaded character takes 2 or 3 ugly pink prom dresses, and using her great fashion design superpowers, manages to meld them into a new pink prom dress that combines the ugliness of the original dresses in a synergistic way to form the ugliest prom dress of all time. (Except according to the movie, it was really pretty. I'm just saying my eyes saw something different.)

Carlos~~~Hmm...I've never seen Poldark, but I like Highlander, Alborada, Amor Real, Superman , and Dr. Quinn. Let's see...what do these shows have in commom...yes...they all have a tall, dark, handsome, powerful leading man [who is a good kisser] in an exotic setting . Thus, I assume that Poldark also features a goodlooking galan and that the setting is somewhere in time in an exotic location. . Do you remember who starred in it ?

Carlos~~~Youtube rocks. I just found Poldark there !!! It reminds me of a British period telenovela [epoca]. I liked the scenery and costumes and carriages , but the guys I saw did not compare to TBLMOE or Big Ed Yanez....namely no black hair or massive shoulders [which are always on my top ten list]. However, I plan to check out a few episodes via Youtube. Thanks for the recommendation. p.s. Folks around here are not so happy with the Eagles new player, and this is definitely Eagles country. In fact, Hub will be going to see them practice at a local college where they do their summer training. I'll let you know how the crowds received the new member of the team.

I love your title... I couldn't agree more!

Has Fr/Ed given Erika a ring yet?

Also, I can't help but wonder where old guy/abuelo's paychecks have been going? Grandaughter knows he is missing ...what about his own kids? Who is doing his work around the place...

I like Fer's outfit, cute halter top and low rise pants. finally something more stylish for her age plus a little more sexy!

Susalynn,

May I suggest Paul Gross who is coming to abc this fall in what is sure to be an awful dramatic series, "Eastwick". But catch him in "Slings & Arrows", a Canadian series out on DVD now. Mmmm!

Jane

Can someone tell me exactly what the point of the "Venus/Lovely seduces Camilho" plot is anyway? I missed that part. Was it to distract him for some reason, or just to embarrass him or what?

I don't think that has really ever been explained to us. A convuluted way to get Esteve and Venus together? A subplot to muddy the waters and drag out the show?

Poor old "Papa".....Barbara wiped his kiss off her lips with such repulsion....I'm going to feel bad for him when he discovers what a fool he has been.....or are her plans to get rid of him and he will never know?....there needs to be a reason for his heart palpitations some episodes back...maybe his enlightenment will kill him...

xIntperuvian,

You have hit on something that I haven't understood in this TN. I THINK that the point of the Venus/Camilo caper was to embarrass Camilo, he would find out that he was engaged or married to a "working girl". This is the caveat, Venus is one of the insiders, a friend of Martina's, Esteve's and Ed/Fr's. If Camilo is embarrassed by his engagement or marriage to Venus/ Lovely, doesn't that put Venus/Lovely in an even more horrible situation.. someone so undesirable that EVEN CAMILO is shamed by his association with her. Honestly, at this point, I can't follow all the story lines in this TN and keep up with the things I am responsible for in my life...not enough brain cells!! At the beginning of MEPS I should have made a flow chart for my own use in keeping up with everything.

Any other comments or corrections are welcome...I'm unclear on this one.

Sandy in TN

Susanlynn, Poldark was set on the coast of Cornwall and starred Robin Ellis as a brooding but fairly decisive galan whose one true love, Elizabeth threw him over for a jerk of a guy. He pined for her, but the audience, however pulled for Demelza, played by Angharad Rees, the waif he rescued from the streets. Alistair Cook hated it, years later calling it basically a steamy, salacious soap opera (not his exact words)not worthy of Masterpiece Theater. We were hooked when it was on and used my newly acquired 1 hour Betamax to record each episode, lest we miss one.

Carlos

Carlos~~There seem to be a lot of comments on the youtube scenes from Poldark-groupies. It definitely has a Wuthering Heights vibe.

Jane~~Thanks for the referral to Paul Gross. I don't think I know the guy , but I'm always open to new tall, dark, and handsome talent. I saw a promo for ''Eastwick'' the other day. However, I only saw females in the promo. I've never heard of ''Slings and Arrows.'' Was that a Canadian production ? What was it about ?

Slings and Arrows is about a Canadian Shakespeare company, probably somewhat modeled on the Canadian Stratford Festival. It deals with the goings on when this group puts on a production. I saw most of the first season. It's really good. And the title obviously comes from Hamlet.

Venus was told never to have sex with Camilo or fall for him since he is lazy, worthless & can't remember what other descriptions they used. It doesn't make much since, but Camilo was supposed to fall for her & it doesn't seem to be working.
He is only interested in congressing & the money he thinks she has. There was talk of oil wells. If he doesn't marry her the Lactos deal could fall through & they would have to return the money. Lofley is pure & it is indecent to be in a man's apt, so he is really being forced to marry her. But we all know it will never come to that. At first we thought Lofley was falling for him, but now that doesn't seem to be the case.

Ferro/Chris—Thanks for your recap, an excellent summary balanced with snark.
So Fer has gone from the girl scout uniforms to a slightly slutty halter outfit. Her wardrobe has been sort of schitzophrenic.

Kudos to Fr/Ed for handing Floricita, calming her down and making her listen to reason. Loved her little trip around the staircase to avoid Barbwire.

DDenia showed a smirky little smile when Jacinto and Marg asked her what was up about the kiss, like she was secretly proud.

I didn’t catch that Barb asked Damian to abscond with AWahWah. Oh well, Dam needs something to keep him busy and AWahWah needs something else to cry about.

Julie, hope the job is going well. Love to hear your comments.
HGR—“One reason we know we will never see her walking down the aisle for a wedding with Franco is that there would be no way to shoot that scene without a lot of shrubbery to conceal her growing middle.” True—so can I quit worrying now?

Carlos, I remember Poldark from years back. Watched it with great pleasure, loved the characters and I don’t care what Alistair Cooke said about it. I’m a sucker for soaps in historical costume.

Just got home and needed to instantly read the recap...........school here in El Monte California is getting ready to start and i returned to my office to get it up and running...anyway I loved the Jane Kravitz resemblence.....flor really does look alot like her....I think Cammi is frustrated with Lofly....she teases and then off she breezes and he is fed up with it.....I can hardly wait for tonight to see what happens when Fr/Ed finds out Fer has dumped Dam...it will open the way for all the loving, and kissing to commence....maybe.....I cracked up when the grand daughter of the old man came out to tell Barbie about her grandpa........like some one else said "its about time"...thanks for the recap Ferro/chris i love to read them all
