Mañana es Para Siempre, Thursday, September 17--Ep #147: Witness what happens when you've got junk in the trunk

Damian really, really needs to find out what's going on with Evil Barbie…or so he thought bubbles as he drives.

Franco explains to Padre Bosco that it was Camilo who bet the snot out of Esteve. PB points out they were about to hand Eduardo over for a mistake. Franco says it's ok, but now Barbie will want to know how they're connected. PB informs him that's not the worst of it--he promised to hand over Eduardo's corpse!

Evil Barbie complains to Artie that she took a long time getting there because it was hard for her to get out of the hacienda. Artie notices that that's been happening a lot lately. Barbie says they shouldn't argue--they're about to achieve his life's work. She'll have everything in her name soon. Artie wonders if that's why she suddenly became delirious and wanted to confess to Padre Bosco. He grabs her face and asks her what the heck is going on. She tells him that she thinks it's time to let Lili go, but Artie wants to know why. Barbie doesn't think they should have anything at the end of this but the Elizalde money. But since he never listens, she sent the Padre. Artemio says he is becoming more and more suspicious that Eduardo is alive, but since PB is intent on convincing him that he has nothing to worry about, he's going to hand over the corpse in exchange for Lili. Barbie reminds him about the crypt, but Artemio tells her that PB assured her there aren't ashes--he decided to bury him so that Artemio wouldn't profane the tomb. Barbie confirms that they're going to trade the body for Lili, but Artemio says it's only so that Lili can be buried in the same place as Eduardo!

Franco is finding out that Artemio is convinced that Eduardo Juarez is alive and wants revenge. Padre Bosco says he offered the body in exchange for Lili, but now he's complicated things more. Franco says until they get Lili back, he's not leaving. He doesn't know how to resolve this, but he's going to still and distract Artemio until they can get Lili out. Eduardo doesn't think the deal with Barbie is really getting him anything…he thinks she's just another of Artemio's pawns and Lili's life depends only on Artemio's whims.

Lili cries in her room and looks at the chess board. FREE LILI!!!!

Artemio tells Barbie that he's going to give the priest Liliana's body. He thinks it's too bad what happened--he trusted her and she betrayed him. He won't forgive her for that…he won't forgive anyone for betraying him. He wonders if he's regretting Barbie's scruples. She has no idea what he means (and neither do I). "Good, then" he says, because he doesn't see a difference between what Barbie did to Montserrat and what he's going to do to Lili.

Fer goes to the police and turns Camilo in for beating "a friend".

Damian pulls up to a public area with other people around. He checks his cell and calls Barbie. Barbie is still on the way, she says she's caught in traffic, but almost there.

The feds have Damian under surveillance. A man with a dog goes up to Damian's trun and the guy signals that the dog sniffed something…the explosives, I presume. Now the cops roll up, sirens blaring and big scary weapons pointed at him. Damian gets his dumb ass arrested. They put him in the back of a truck.

At the hospital, Erika says Lovely told her that Esteve had a heart attack. She's sure everything is going to go well, though. Franco hasn't called Steve's parents, but he guesses at some point he'll have to. He starts looking around as he realizes Lovely isn't there. Erika saw her leave, but Lovely didn't say where she was going.

She's walking down the street and answers her phone, crying. She tells Franco she couldn't just sit there and she's going to do what she should have done already. Franco tells her to come back before Esteve wakes up and needs her. She says she's going to kill Camilo and hangs up on him.

Now they've got a robot checking out Damian's car trunk. Damian gets driven off in the back of a truck. Another cop calls it in that Damian Gallardo is being brought in for possession of explosives and on suspicion of being a terrorist. Ha. Ha. Hahahahahahahahaha. A reporter blasts Damian's name all over la televisión. The bomb robot pulls out a couple of sticks of pink TNT. Dude, I like anything if it's pink. They do a lot of complicated loading of it in some kind of tank.

Fer reviews the typed up report from the cops and thanks the lady at the desk. Her phone rings. Franco tells Fer that Lovely is gunning for her brother. She supposes he's at his apartment and Franco asks for the address.

Lovely pulls up in front of Camilo's apartment in a taxi. She looks scared and weepy and stands there for a minute.

Franco writes down the address on a piece of paper he gets from the nurses at the desk. Er borrows his phone cause she "left" hers at home. She sees he called Fernanda.

Lovely says hello to the desk clerk and asks him not to tell Camilo she's on her way up…she wants to surprise him. He agrees, after she tells him she's got the keys just in case Camilo's not there.

Franco tells Er he's going to find Lovely and asks her to wait there. Er gets all clingy. Franco firmly tells her he's going alone and she's going to wait with Padre Bosco. She agrees and he leaves.

Camilo hobbles around getting dressed and listening to bad hip hop. He makes it as far as getting on a shirt and a pair of jeans when Venus walks in. She puts her jacket down on a chair and edges toward the bedroom. Unfortunately, he comes out from another door and sees her before she sees him. They both look at each other angrily and Venus hyperventilates.

Erika tells her mom she's pushing up the date of the wedding. She wants to do it in 8 days. Dolly laughs at her. Erika throws a tantrum about needing to do it whether there are guests and a party or not. Dolly wants an explanation. Erika says her wedding is in danger and she'd rather die than lose Franco.

Camilo thinks she's there to tell him that Esteve is dead. He tosses her around, then pours a coffee. She grabs him by the hair and gets in a few kicks, but he gets one arm twisted around behind her and threatens to show her what a man he is. He's going to show her what happens to someone who says Camilo Elizalde's not a man. He rips her shirt, but she knees him in the groin and then finds a big knife in the sidebar. She comes at him with it, but he gets a grip on her wrist. She knees him again and then stabs him through the hand, pinning it to the sidebar. Eek…I hate hand trauma!

Pris comes into Anibal's office to ask if he's heard what happened. She's referring to Damian being a terrorist.

Now Venus has Cami by the hair and has the big knife at his throat. She's telling him this is for him and all the men in her life who have done whatever they wanted with her without caring how sick it made her. She says they all satiated themselves like beasts. She asks if he still wants to punish her (he sobs "no") and tells him he's so "soberbio" (arrogant, haughty) that he still thinks there's a way a man like him can punish her. She says there are no ways left to make her suffer, because she's been through it all. She has nothing left to lose because he killed the only good thing in her life, so she came to make him pay because he still has something to pay with, he cares about his life, while she doesn't care anymore if she lives or dies. He's scared! She calls him on having called her names a few minutes ago. She tells him her name isn't Lovely, it's Venus, and she's been a whore all her life. She wants him to look at her so that he knows that it was a "mujerzuela" (prostitute) who sent him to the other world.

We go to break. When we come back Venus tells Camilo, over his screams, that Steve's not going alone…Cami will go first. She's sure he's not hurting nearly as badly as Steve was when he and his buddies beat him up…because she's sure Camilo didn't act alone, he's too much of a coward. She's slowly dragging the knife along his throat.

Franco is stuck in traffic. Barbie calls him and he reports he's stuck in traffic. She wants to see him ASAP, but he says he's got something else to deal with. Barbie says they've got to get Lili out right away because Artemio's going to kill her.

Anibal is on hold. Pris wonders if he had anything to do with it, but he has no idea what she's talking about. He gets information, sends a hello to Comandante Lozoya (the one and only named cop in this show…every show's gotta have just one), and tells Pris that Damian was detained on suspicion of being a terrorist. His trunk was full of explosives . Pris still wants him to swear he had nothing to do with it. Anibal says either way, this is great news for the two of them. They've silenced Vlad, and Damian going to jail makes him practically dead.

Venus tells Camilo not to worry, she's going to take sure his death will be slow, so he can feel what Steve must have felt. She notes his blood is red, not blue. Fer walks in with the desk guy from downstairs. She begs Lovely to stop, but Venus says that no one was there to beg Camilo to stop when he was beating on Steve. She says she's not going to stop just because he's Fer's brother. Fer tells Lovely she's not there for Camilo, she's there for Lovely. Franco called her to tell her where Lovely was going. Camilo starts trying to beg, but Venus shuts him up. Fer says she's got to let the cops deal with this, just as the cops come running in. I would say that startling a woman who's holding a big knife to a man's throat is a bad idea if you intend to stop her from cutting him!

At the police station, Jacobo has showed up as Damian's lawyer, I guess. Dam screams that Barbie must have set him up. Jacobo tells him they're throwing all the baddest parts of the book at him and he's not getting out on bail…he's in it up to his neck. Damian grabs Jacobo and tells him to find Barbie and tell her to get him out of this or else (I didn't understand his "or else" something about taking her between his feet?). Jacobo agrees. He wants to know what to say to Damian's Mommy. Dam says to tell her it was all a mistake and Jacobo is going to get him out…he doesn't want that "vieja" (old lady, but really disrespectfully in this context) showing up and yelling at him and crying.

Said Mommy sees the news on TV. She starts the yelling and crying without him.

Damian tells Jacobo to go to the apartment and take out some papers and a video camera. Dam wants him to just take the stuff and guard it. It's a treasure that's going to become more valuable with time.

Fer keeps pleading with Lovely that the cops aren't there for her, she turned Camilo in for what he did, the cops know what's really going on. Lovely wants assurances that he's going to have the shit kicked out of him in jail, but Fer can't guarantee that. Fer keeps reasoning with her, that if she kills Camilo, she'll go to jail and then Steve will wake up and find out the person he loves most in the world is in jail for murder. Fernanda keeps inching closer and gets the knife away from Camilo's throat. She gets Lovely on her feet and covered with her shirt. Camilo starts screaming that Lovely's really a whore and she's going to pay, blah, blah, blah, as the cops carry him out. Fer is trying to calm Lovely as Franco walks in, having missed all the action. Venus looks like she's in shock. She starts crying and runs to Franco.

Erika talks to Dolly. There's no room in the original church for the day Erika wants. Dolly understands she wants to rush things, so she talked to the bishop, who's going to talk to Padre Bosco, and get the wedding done on the day Erika wants. Padre Bosco walks into the lobby and Erika gives him the "good" news that he gets to marry her and Franco. He doesn't look too happy about it.

Back at Camilo's place, Lovely's gotten a new shirt. She says she feels better, but she's still crying hysterically. She wants to see Steve and Franco wants Fer to take her back to the hospital while he goes to find out what's up with Barbie. Fer doesn't like this, but she agrees.

Padre Bosco says if he gets a letter from the bishop, he'll have to do it. Erika says they'll have the wedding as soon as Steve is out of danger. PB wonders why she wants to do this so quick. Her excuse is that when Steve is all better, he's going to want to get back to the US and since he's their padrino, it's better to speed things up. Er says she's realized it's the wedding that's really important, not the party. PB is glad to hear it. He very craftily avoids saying he's happy about it, just repeats that if he gets an order from the bishop, well, an order is an order. The nurse comes in looking for Steve's family so that the doctor can give them some information.

Jacobo finds Vlad's DNA profile and wonders why it's worth a lot of money.

Franco comes into Grupo Lactos, says hi to Flor, disses Gardenia, gets announced to Barbie, and goes into her office…once Gardenia gets out of his way. She is just shoving her body at him any chance she gets. Flor calls her on it, as if Gardenia cares.

Barbie gripes that this isn't a game. Franco's on board with that. She wants an explanation about what Padre Bosco was doing there.

The doctor and Er are all in scrubs, Er says she's Steve's best friend's fiancee.

Franco verifies that he knows who Artemio really is. Padre Bosco had nothing to do with it at first, but when he found out PB had been around for a while, he assumed PB must know the secret. He talked to PB and PB offered to negotiate Lili's release. He was supposed to get Artemio to let her go in exchange for their silence. Barbie says that Artemio knows that PB knows all and has refrained from killing him only because he hasn't felt like it yet. Franco says they have Ana Gregoria's diary as ammunition, but Barbie informs him that AB already suspects that Franco has it. Franco thinks this is good news, because if AB touches PB, he'll spill the beans to Gonzo, including Barbie's role in all this.

The doctor wants Erika to talk to Steve. Erika says "Steve, it's me, Erika, Franco's fiancee, do you hear me?" Steve kind of groans and then manages to get out "Erika." Erika is impactada and cries that he recognized her.

So, just to clarify, if Artemio does anything to Padre Bosco or Lili, Franco will screw up his whole revenge scheme and he and Barbie will have to answer for all the evil stuff they've done. Barbie still wants to know why she had to extract Padre Bosco from Artie's house. Franco explains it was because he'd just realized Artemio wasn't responsible for Steve's beating. Barbie complains that he didn't share that info with her. She knows that Artie is going to be thrown off for a little while, but in the end he'll still kill Lili. The diary puts them on equal footing, but there's one more piece of information that Franco needs to be one up on Artie…Artie is afraid of someone, someone he thought was dead until recently, a kid who left Mexico 15 years ago and would probably want revenge on Artie. If Franco finds this person, he'll gain control of the situation and he'll have absolute power over Artemio. And who is this person? Eduardo Juarez, the son of Soledad Cruz.

Anibal comes into Gonzo's office to tell Gonzo that Camilo has been arrested. Yes, he's sure, and guess who signed the "denuncia" (report, complaint)…Fernanda! Gonzo is impactado.

And that's all for tonight! I feel a little low on snark this episode, but there was so much heaviness and not a lot to mock. I'll try to make up for it next time :)

For those who remember Coupling, it only just hit me that Erika is an Unflushable!

So, there's another tiny bit of snark for you this evening :)

Holy Moly! What an episode! Thanks for an excellent recap Kat!

That scene with Venus and Cad was so intense my heart was pounding. I didn't know whether to hope Venus would kill him because he deserved it, or hope she wouldn't so she wouldn't wind up in jail. And our Nanda! Wow! One moment she's turning her rotten brother in and the next minute she's saving his slimy ass.

Damian is so stupid he deserves what he gets. Evil Barbie has burned you how many times dude, and you're still doing her bidding?? And plotting blackmail even after you're arrested? This guy deserves house arrest at his mommy's.

Did anyone else think Esteve was going to ask Erika to go get "Eduardo"?

Thanks for the great recap! I love this blog but this is my first comment - and its a very superficial one at that! Was anyone else bothered by the fact that Fr/Ed changed clothes on his way to cut off Venus at Cam's (aka Cat Butt Mouth)apartment? Obviously it was a very dramatic period however they felt it necessary to do a wardrobe change? Just a very silly thought. Cheers!

Oh my gosh! He did, didn't he! I just realized that...he was in a button down shirt and then changed into a polo...maybe someone thought he needed to look more manly and they wanted more of his arms showing?

Here's the perfect example of how you recappers enhance my enjoyment of these episodes: Pink dynamite! I noticed it, but didn't realize how much I appreciated the humor in that until you mentioned it, Kat!! I practically spit my tequila out all over my computer screen!

Did anyone notice that the cop who ushered Damian into the back of the cop car got in next to him and put his arm around him (well, along the top of the seat back, but still...)?

They are loading up these last episodes with so much fun stuff! Thanks, Kat.

Jane

Didn't Fr/Ed change back into the suite to go meet with Barb? Maybe he's like Superman and wears a tight polo under his button-down shirt!

Sorry, that should have read "change back into his suit".

And welcome Megan! This is a fun place! Glad you're here!

Wow, 5ft~~~Good title ! Megan~~I,too, notice that Fr'ed was in a suit when he left the hospital, but he was wering a golf shirt when he got to Cad's apartment...Then, he was back in a suit in the next scene....????? Hola...Who's in charge of continuity here ? And that was a gratutious scene of Loafly Venus's charms, n'est-ce pas ? I was not expecting the knife in the hand...owww. And one kick in the jewels...shame on you...but the second...shame on me . Cad is dumb as a rock.

Oh...was that whole dynamite-police-police dog thing a PSA...''This Is Your Police Force at Work for You.'' Also, didn't Fr'ed look great against the lime green hospital wall ? The color enhanced his dark dreaminess.

I don't think anyone saw that one coming, least of all Damian.
No end to Babs resourcefulness.
I was impressed by the MexiFeds. They need to use some of that hi-tech stuff to get the drug lords.

Go Venus! But if I was going to kill someone I think I would take my own weapon instead of relying on what my victim had on hand. The police are behind Venus & they don't think to grab her arm. I think Camilo's first idea was to pour hot café on Venus.

That's 2 down, 3 to go

Jacobo's mustache needs a little work, it was all uneven. He really looks like a sleazy lawyer.

Tks mucho 5ft.

I DID think Babs was going to get Damian caught with a trunkload of dynamite, but did NOT think she'd work terrorism into it too. Nice job, Babs, but I'm hoping he'll still get the last word.

I don't want him to get busted for something he didn't do. I want him to get busted for what he's actually done.

Speaking of busted, I am surprised the cops didn't at least ASK about the situation with Camilo bleeding all over the place and Venus holding a knife. OK, so there's a warrant for his arrest, but aren't they curious about the scene in front of them? Find out did she attack him, did he attack her, etc.?

I think Damian's comment about having Babs between his feet implied "between his feet and the ground." Either that or he meant kneeling at his feet. But that conjures up a funny picture. Reminds me of that time she crouched down behind the car to hide from someone when she was talking to Lucio, and Lucio totally got the wrong idea. Little twit. I wonder if we'll see him again.

Variopinta, do you think Jacobo's mustache grew that way, or did he just glue it on crooked??

I too was a little surprised that Venus showed up at Camilo's place unarmed, but I think she was envisioning that she'd kill him with her bare hands, even though he'd already proven that he was stronger than her. Doubt she thought that far ahead, though.

Kat: don't ever apologize for a lack of snark. Your previous recaps are so overloaded with great one-liners that you've built up a snark bank account you could retire on. Thanks!!

Dam the Dumb really is Wile E. Coyote, isn't he? Loved the TNT sticks...are they really labelled as such in real life? I had to chuckle at that. I didn't notice the color. He must have gotten pink because the explosivos were for a woman.

Go Venus! Nice kicks to Cam's brain...oops, I mean balls. Same thing, right? When the d!ck disconnects the gray matter, you end up with Cam.

So will Steve be the one to unmask Batman? We should take a poll on everyone's guess as to who will reveal Fr/Ed's identity. So far, there's no lack of candidates.

DDenia & Err just can't help themselves, can they? I'd like to think if I were in the presence of TBLMOE's incredible hotitude, I'd behave a like a proper woman but who knows? I may end up just as dopey as these two.

Nanda rocks!
Free Lili!
Strip Fr/Ed! (oops...how did that get in there?)

Maggarita
TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Lucio will be Dam's cellmate ! Now wouldn't that be sweet. They could compare notes on Barbie.

OK, about Venus going to Camilo's the way she did. I just remembered something that I hesitated to share, but in remembering it, I realized that Venus's actions hit much closer to home than I first thought.

Some years ago, I was in a car accident. My father was awake, but stunned and incoherent. My mother was knocked out cold, and I couldn't wake her up and thought she was dead. (You don't always think clearly when you're full of adrenaline.)

Even though I was completely deranged with fear and premature grief, I felt very calm. I went to the other car, thinking that I would kill the guy who had hit us. However, by the time I walked those few paces between our car and his, I realized that I didn't really have a plan, so I went back to see to my parents, who were okay by this time.

I didn't end up killing anyone, but I was (and still am) horrified by what I had just been thinking, and how reasonable it had seemed at that moment. For about 30 seconds, I was in pretty much the same state that Venus was in. I totally get why she went over there empty-handed and without a plan, thinking she was going to avenge Steve.

This was before cell phones, btw, else I would hope that I would have called 911 right away and that would have kept me out of trouble.

Sorry for the lengthy hindleg, but something that seemed totally dumb last night now seems dumb but frighteningly plausible now. I'm going to have to cut telenovela characters more slack from now on. (It won't be easy!)

Thanks, 5ft, for the great recap. A lot happened. I was in the dark until you clarified it all.

But the Lovely and Camilo scene had me howling. She kept blahing and blahing for over 5 minutes while he was sniveling and she only held him by his hair and had the knife to his throat. Another man fighting for his life would have taken control of the situation in a minute...!!!

And another thing, as Variopinta wrote, if you're going to kill someone, you don't go empty handed....

Also I, too, noticed those scruffy
whiskers of Jacobo --
disgusting...!!

But I loved watching it all...!!!

Ann-NYC

PS - Strip Fr/Ed!!! (Just saw that Maggarita -- Ha!Ha!

What an episode! Thanks for the recap Kat. I have a hard time understanding Fernanda when she talks that fast!

Cad is such a gutless scumbag. She should have splashed the coffee in his face (as Madea says "grits, pan.") If anyone has ever watched a Madea movie they will know what that means! I was yelling the P-word at him for groveling. That was a great scene. They should have gotten him on attempted rape too what with her shirt ripped and all. I felt so sorry for Venus.

Erika--I started to hear the zzzzzpppp of the velcro as she latched onto him again but he saved himself that time, whew! Did they blip out her squeal when she went to tell PB that he could marry them? I had prepared myself for it but then nothing...

Dam--How funny to sit in front of the police station with a carload of explosives. Duhhhhh....

Loved the remark that Kat has such a buildup in her snark bank account that she can cruise for a while. Too true, Kat.

And there was nothing funny or particularly mock-worthy in this other than the strange, beige jacket in hospital, polo shirt in apartment, dark suit and tie when meeting with Barbara even though meeting was URGENT. If so, why did Franco/Eduardo take time to change....and where? (And why didn't we get to see him do it?) Oh well. Why criticize his "hotitude" as Maggie calls him.

I had to look away from the cut Venus had inflicted under Cad's chin. Looked way too real and gory.

Actually felt a little affection for Erika last night as a tear of joy slid down her cheek when Esteve responded to her question. And thank God she didn't GIGGLE when he seemed to come to.

I have a bad feeling that Esteve is going to say something to Erika that she won't want to hear and maybe she'll cancel the wedding.

Connie: a late LOL on your comment yesterday on Miguel lifting his leg. He he he!! I can envision him doing that on Fr/Ed's car tires!!!

And btw, I didn't think he looked all that great without his shirt but I'll admit I'm on Team Fr/Ed. He is
just
so
fine.
Maggarita
(margarita time yet??? it's noon somewhere)

I'll have to look again Maggarita. I thought maybe he'd be on there last night. I can say he's not as hunky as Fr/Ed.

Ok Maggarita, I found some other pictures. He doesn't even compare to Fr/Ed. Some women don't like the over-developed look though. But I'll still take Fr/Ed over him.

Connie: even with Fr/Ed's overly Brylcreemed hair & vein popping muscles, he still has me at hello. I really like the shots of him in the opening sequence when his hair is a little longer & much softer. White shirt, discreetly unbuttoned. Rolled sleeves. Tight jeans. Le smile.
OMG...
Yup, I'd be kudzu!
Maggarita

I totally agree. He was asesome in Alborada too. That's my favorite so far.

I can't spell today. Need more coffee.

I have Alborada DVD & have yet to watch it. It will be my reward for completing my thesis by December. It's my version of dangling a carrot (oh my...two ways to interpret that!).
Maggarita

Judyb~~~Ha...good one..Why didn't we get to see Fr'ed make those [odd] wardrobe changes ??? Excellent point. I guess he felt he had to change into his ''rescue golf shirt.'' I wonder if Hub has one of those among his large collection of golf shirts .

Thanks for the recap Kat. It was a great episode. Can't really comment now but will later today.

Margarita~~~Oh my. I can't believe that you haven't watched that Alborada DVD yet ! FC is at his maximum hotitude in that novela plus it has a great story, cast, costumes, scenery, music. I'm currently rewatching it. Wait until you see him with the long hair , sideburns, and mustache and beard....putting the moves on Lucero, riding a horse, swordfighting , and beating up the villain. CARAY !!! Oh. My. Goodness. I can't wait to her your opinions about it. It was my first novela and is still my fav.

Whoops..sorry for the double post..I guess I was a little...excited.

Thanks for the recap Kat, I haven't read it yet. Pasofino put out one, too. I read that and commented and now I find your's. :) Repeat my comment from there to here:

Thanks for the great recap Pasofino. Things starting to get wrapped up? Getting close to the end, already tossing Cam (good riddance, think it should be the end of him?) and Dam in the carcel. It looks like more to do with Dam, but can't see any need to look at Cadmilho's orange face ever again. :)

The line I liked was where Venus told Cad something like, "you're blood is red, I thought it would be blue." A couple of kicks to the groin and a stab in the hand, Cad lost all his steam.

So they didn't tell Err what really happened to Esteve? She thought he had a heart attack?
I couldn't believe it, there she was checking again to see who Fr/Ed was calling.

I guess Artemio wasn't completely taken with Lili. Ready to do her in.

Oh, but the big surprise for me... Barb really set up Dam. I definitely did not see that one coming. I figured she would like to have those explosives, but I suppose she can get more later.
I thought Dam's mom would collapse right there, but she hung in there. She should be getting a little tougher now.
Interesting too, Dam is a terrorist. Yet, Jacobo was able to go to his apartment and get the tape. I figured, how can he go there and get anything. You would think the cops would be swarming that apartment looking for evidence. :)

JeffMN

We haven't had amnesia yet, will Esteve have amnesia? Maybe partial amnesia, he doesn't remember recent events, but does remember earlier things and actually does call Fr/Ed Eduardo!!
Just saying the name Errika, not sure if Esteve recognized her or not. Maybe just repeating what she said. I supposed Errika is thinking, boy, those heart attacks really beat you up. :)

JeffMN

Did somebody tell her he had a heart attack or did she just make that up in her little pea-brain.

Wow! One action packed episode, two arrests, two great recaps!

5ft- you are going to run out of snark tickets, I'm afarid.

I did not see Dam's set up coming any more than he did. I don't think that transporting Acme dynamite in the form of pink paper towel cores with TNT stamp was a crime- gawd, how hokey! At any rate, it seems to me that Babs set herself up, no doubt the cops will check in to Dam's acusation of Babs involvement- plentyof proof- phone records, etc.

Cab is such a wus, a couple knees to the jewels, a stab to the hand and he's done. Cad, this is life-or-death, you'd better put up a better fight. And Venus, start the cutting, already if you are going to.

Do you suppose that Err thinks that heart attacks are accompanied by bruises and blood? She is such an idiot- like unilaterally moving the wedding date up is going to make it happen. Yeah, right. I did like that she was shedding a tear for Estif coming out of his unconciousness. Maybe there is hope for her realizing she is not the center of the universe.

Excellent recap Kat. It's kinda fun having two different perspectives for the same episode. I fully appreciate the effort you both put in.

Judy, I was actually hoping as Esteve revived, that Erica would give her patented little shriek. She did seem to be genuinely compassionate and moved by Esteve's response.

Finally some action! Thanks Mrs. 5ft...yes, you have enough snark in the bank to last at least a couple of years or more.

As Venus was holding Camii down, I felt proud as a woman that she had the strength to do it, but then I thought...no way!

My interpretation of the "heart attack", Esteve's heart stopped and they resuscitated him, maybe that is what she was referring to, who knows.

Oh, right. I forgot about that.

Maybe Steve mumbled "Erika" as in "Erika, I don't think I could take it right now if you were to shriek or giggle and I'm not able to defend myself."

I loved the color Babs was wearing last night - that super royal blue.

Gardenia trying to rub up against Franco as he tried to get by - LOL, that girl never gives up!

Just found this recap (thank you, Kat) as I only stopped at the first one from pasofino.

Anyway ... I posted at pasofino's recap that Babs had Dam park where he did because she KNEW he'd be picked up. My friend from Mexico said that location is the equivalent of our White House. NO ONE parks there, it is always under surveillance, and Babs figured what happened, would happen. Dam was too dumb to think about where he was parking.

Yeah, I couldn't understand why he parked. It looked like a public square, one of those well known and important types like the WA DC mall, and there were no other cars or even bus stops in the area. But Dam is Dum.

Julie, the mustache needed a good trim, it wasn't on crooked but the growth, some longer than others. yuk

Margarrita, I, like Gardenia would love to pass by FC in close quarters. She was so funny with her response to Flor's criticism.

The scenes are not filmed in sequence, but you would think someone would be keeping track of what people wear in what scene.

It's a shame to waste such a wonderful actress in such a stupid part & totally unnecessary to make Erika a complete pain in the nalgas. Not a sole on earth could put up with that, let alone a man. She has huge, beautiful eyes. a very attractive woman, TG I saw her in Pasión before this. I wonder if when she got home from work, she said "pls don't make me laugh" my face hurts.

Thanks for both recaps. No matter how hard I listen, I always seem to miss something important. I didn't even know that Erica thought Steve had a heart attack...I never heard her say that line. She could be talking about earlier when his heart failed when Lovely was talking to him. But who knows.

I was a bit disappointed by the Lovely Camilo scene. The take-down of Cam seemed too easy and unbelievable. She only had him by the hair, which means he had two hands available..... either we are supposed to believe he's that much of a wuss (which is quite possible) or the writing was really that bad.

Doesn't matter. Either way I am really enjoying these ulitimos capitulos.

La Salsera

OK, I got a better look at Jacobo's mustache. It actually does look real, or at least glued on straight but poorly trimmed.

But I suppose that's the least of Jacobo's problems. He deserves a little something for being a scumbag. I remember how he and Dam were really yucking it up over Vlad's supposed murder last week. I thought I saw contempt in the taxi driver/assassin's eyes last week when he met with them after the "job." Like he had more respect for the woman who gave him all her good jewelry to save a man's life than those spoiled drunken primos.

Salsera (cool name!), I think Camilo really is that much of a wuss. He's all hombre when he has the upper hand over an unarmed or woman or a servant, but when you even up the odds he's got no fight at all. Remember how he backed off of Jacinto once Jac told him he knew about Dad's car? Cam was still full of talk, but he wouldn't raise his hand to him any more.

It remains to be seen whether or not he actually raped Aurora. Since Aurora doesn't actually remember that part of the event, only waking up in bed with him, and his own word is worthless, the only way we'll know for sure is if we see Camilo's flashback from that night.

Whether he ends up dead or in prison, I couldn't guess. A pretty-boy coward with a snooty attitude is probably better off dead than in prison regardless. The only thing that might save him from a squalid ending is if it turns out that he voluntarily chose not to rape her (rather than being unable to due to an equipment malfunction).

But he still deserves some kind of punishment, and I don't know if they have white-collar prisons in Mexico. I think he's doomed.

Dam, I'm not so worried about. He's pretty too, but he has a way of dealing with people and taking care of himself that I think would serve him well in prison. ICBW. But I don't think his mom could take it, and when you put your mom in that position, that's usually a death sentence for you.

Poor Ursula. I wonder what kind of mother she was to him. And what his father was like.
