MEPS - Wednesday, Sept. 16 - Padre and AB debate; Fer has an enchanted dream; Fr/Ed makes a death wish

EPISODE #146 (Mexico #151):
* Venus cries and prays for Steve's life in the hospital chapel.

* Venus, Fr/Ed and Padre Bosco find out from Dr. how Steve is - he is out of surgery but not out of danger or coma. He will be transferred to an ICU room soon. Fr/Ed asks about specific prognosis. Dr. tells him that Steve is really critical.

* Barbie is awake, and thought bubbling about her new wonderful life with Aurora and her grandson.

* In the ICU room, Venus cries at Steve's bedside. She talks about happy dreams for her and Steve. Steve is in a coma. She wants him to wake up and say her name; she can't lose him now. He's the best thing in her life. She promises to learn english - if only he wakes up. Monitor starts to flatline and the alarm rings. Nurse rushes in.

* Fr/Ed and Padre Bosco are grumbling about Steve's beating - they think AB ordered it. Fr/Ed vows revenge but they have to do so without putting Lili's life in jeopardy. Venus is shaking and crying as she runs out to tell them about Steve flatlining.

* In the room, Dr. comes to the rescue and uses the paddles to get Steve's heart beating again.

* In the reception area, Dr. tells Fr/Ed and Venus that Steve is still in a coma and is still extremely critical.

* Miguel is thought bubbling and dreaming about his undying love for Fernanda Elizalde.

* Fer is sleeping and dreaming -- she dreams that she's wearing a white gown in the garden; she sees Fr/Ed in a white suit and runs over towards him; she stops when Erika appears in a white wedding gown and Erika and Fr/Ed walk away; Fer turns and sees Miguel standing there saying her name...

* Fr/Ed continues to talk with Padre Bosco about his plan to have Padre meet with AB - he plans to give himself up in order to end the violence; he doesn't want to lose any more loved ones. Fr/Ed tells Padre to meet with Don Artemio with the deal. Fr/Ed only asks that Steve doesn't die - if anyone should die, it should be him.

* Don Artemio interrogates Lili about the missing diary - AB suspects that Lili gave it to Fr/Ed. Ciro whispers to Lili advice in order to help the "White King" (Fr/Ed). Lili mutters, but it's a secret. Don Artemio has good hearing and questions her about the 'secret'. Lili stays quiet and doesn't answer. He scolds her. She cries that she won't get her trip to Egypt to see the pyramids. AB leaves. Ciro consoles Lili.

* Padre Bosco and Fr/Ed finalize the plan for Padre's meeting with AB. Fr/Ed knows Fer will hate him forever; Padre says he's proud of him and leaves.

* Sister Fidelia meets with Aurora in the bedroom. Aurora wants to meet with Barbie now. Fidelia leaves. Aurora prays for support and forgiveness for the lie she's about to tell Barbie (that she's not leaving the convent).

* Fr/Ed talks with Fer in the reception area about Steve's beating. Lovely comes over crying about Steve still in a coma. Fer walks away. Fr/Ed grumbles to Venus that he suspects someone of the beating. Venus grumbles that she has her own suspicions that the low-life monster Camilo did this. Fr/Ed is stunned, "QUE?!?! CAMILO?!?!?" (Oh, Crap!)

* Barb visits Aurora. Aurora doesn't believe Barbie is sincere and cares about her. Barbie tries to assure Aurora; she can't explain right now since Damian is on his way over now. Barbie shows Aurora the passport and birth certificate she has for Aurora and says that tomorrow she will explain everything, tell the whole truth to Aurora. Tomorrow they will leave the convent and be together forever.

* Fr/Ed tells Fer that they suspect the person who beat up Steve was her monster brother Camilo.

* Padre Bosco arrives at AB's office for the meeting. AB is happy to see him - he's been waiting for the visit.

* Fr/Ed is so angry, he's fuming, and if Camilo was here now, he'd ring Camilo's neck and kill him. Fer has to calm Fr/Ed down, then calls Camilo on her cell phone. Camilo wakes up from his deep sleep to answer the phone. Fer wants him to swear on their mother's grave to tell her the truth, did he beat up Steve and leave him for dead? Camilo laughs and wonders if Steve's still alive then grunts some insults against Steve and hangs up. Fer turns to Fr/Ed and says, it's true, Camilo is responsible.

* AB and Bosco sit down and start their meeting.

* Fr/Ed calls Barbie and asks her to stop the meeting between Padre Bosco and AB. Barbie wants to know what is in it for her. Fr/Ed says he'll promise whatever she wants. She wants him to keep a secret for her. He promises. She agrees to help him out. Fr/Ed prays for divine intervention.

* AB starts to spout about his doubts over the cremains of Eduardo that are supposed to be in Soledad's vault. Padre counters with his arguments that it's true. AB spouts off about his love and devotion to the evil devil and wonders about Padre's teachings in the church. AB thinks all the sermons about good vs. evil are a trap. Padre stands up and defends Jesus and God's love and support. The phone rings and interrupts the philosophical debate. AB tells Barb to call back later, he's busy. She convinces him not to hang up on her - she tells AB that Padre Bosco is there to negotiate for Lili's release and to let her speak with Padre now. AB hands the phone to him. Barbie tells Padre Bosco to leave the house now, that AB thinks he's there to negotiate for Lili's release. They hang up. AB wonders what that was all about. Padre tells him that he wants to negotiate for Lili's release.

* Barbie calls Fr/Ed to tell him that she has completed her part of the deal.

* Fer and Lovely talk in the reception area. Lovely explains to Fer that what she did to Camilo had to be done - he's a despicable low-life and she had no intention to marry him. Lovely leaves. Fr/Ed and Fer talk about Camilo - Fer wants her brother to pay for all his crimes.

* AB and Padre Bosco continue their discussion - about Padre wanting Lili released to his custody. AB wonders about Eduardo Juarez. Padre says Eduardo is dead.

* As Barbie waits in her car outside the convent front entrance, Aurora meets with Damian in the courtyard. Aurora tells Damian what they talked about and she promises not to leave with Barbie.

* Padre Bosco assures AB that he will show him the dead body of Eduardo Juarez Cruz. AB is stunned. What body? I thought you said that Eduardo was cremated and his ashes are with his mother's. Padre Bosco said that's a lie. An unknown man was cremated and placed there instead. So where's the body? asks AB. Bosco says buried in a grave in the church's cemetery, undisturbed and at peace. AB has more questions and suspicions. Padre Bosco silently thought bubbles a prayer, and then tells AB to give Lili to him first. AB says, no, I want to see Eduardo's body first.

* Damian explains again to Aurora not to leave with Barbie, just to find out what Barbie's secret is for him. Damian leaves.

* Outside the convent, Barbie sees Damian walk to his car. She calls him on the cell phone and tells him to deliver a load of explosives to another locations in two hours. Damian writes down the address.

* Fer is about to leave - she picks up her purse, and leaves her cell phone on the chair. Fr/Ed asks her about her late night date with Miguel last night. Fer doesn't have too much to say. Fr/Ed is jealous of Miguel. Fer is stunned and tells him that he's engaged to Erika so why is he concerned. He explains how he's dying of jealousy inside, and reveals all his jealous thoughts about her and Miguel. She laughs and tells him to chill out. She reminds him again that he's about to marry Erika. He wants to continue the discussion. Erika hops out of the elevator and interrupts. Erika stays with Fr/Ed as Fer leaves.

* In the hallway, Fer runs into Padre Bosco. Fr/Ed enters the hallway and greets Padre - they very briefly explain how they met to Fer. Fr/Ed gives Fer her cell phone. She leaves.

* Damian is driving in his car, mumbling about how he wants to discover the secrets of the evil Hyena.

* Fr/Ed explains to Padre Bosco that he had to make a deal with the devil to stop the meeting - that Camilo was responsible for Steve's beating not AB as they thought. Padre Bosco tells him the bad news - that AB wants to see Eduardo's body!

* Barbie meets with AB in the office - she tells AB that Gonzo is about to sign his will and all the documents over to her in the name of Barbara Greco. AB seems upset and lunges at her - he wants to know if she's even thinking about double-crossing him.

Thanks for a great recap Jody! You rock!

I guess I need to re-tune my beanie because there is no earthly reason for Fr/Ed and the Padre to think that Artie was responsible for Steve's beating. That they never even suspected Cad is even more amazing. I mean how obvious does this have to be for them to figure it out? !Estupido!

Oh, and Death to cat butt!
Free Lili!

Ditto what xintperuvian and anonymous said. Hard to see Franco/Eduardo as sexy when he's so darn stupid, but that's how telenovela plot lines go, alas.

Jody, I just want you to know that last night's episode was sooo tense I was shaken and stirred and couldn't go to sleep. Loved seeing Franco absolutely lose his cool over Miguel; and Fernanda telling him to snap out of it. As many have said, she's a feisty take-no-prisoners heroine.

Am also impressed with the actor playing the dual roles of Gonzalo and Artemio. As Gonzalo he's a doddering sexless old fool; as Artemio he exudes a dangerous feral power and sexiness that is both repellant and attractive.

In both cases, stellar job of really inhabiting the role.

I wonder if those nuns are getting tired of answering the door to all of Aurora's little friends.

Loved that gown Fer was wearing in her dream. Wherever she shops in her dreams, she should shop when she's awake too. THough I think her clothes have gotten better lately in general.

I too was quite confused as to why FrEd and Bosco suspected AB for the beating, but I guess it was just a plot gimmick to get Bosco at AB's place with nothing to say. I don't know if the corpse thing is such a problem. Nobody knows what grownup Eduardo looks like, plus he was killed in an accident that might have mangled his face. So any stiff will do.

And getting a DNA sample from the real Eduardo shouldn't be too difficult. It will just require some trickery to convince AB that the DNA came from the corpse - especially if AB insists on taking the sample himself.

Jody: nicely, nicely! I didn't get much of the AB/Padre conversation nor Fer & Fr/Ed's rapid fire spat...thanks for the clarifications.

Death to cat butt x 10. He is repulsive.

Err is just too much. I thought Fr/Ed actually pushed her off last night in the hospital. Really...how much of that kudzu can a person stand?

Loved the dream sequence. Fer looked absolutely gorgeous in that gown.

Thanks for the recap Jody. There is a special room reserved in Hell with Cammiiii's name on it.

I'm so sick of Erika. Why can't two people have a conversation without her velcroing herself to Fr/Ed? And it's not the wimpy peel and stick velcro, it's the kind you have to sew on and lasts forever. Can't you see it there on his arm?! :} It's sad that she is so insecure.

How many of you thought Babs was going to blow up Dam's car? I sure did. When she pulled out the phone I thought it was going to trigger the blast.

Connie: when Babs was giving Dam the stink eye, all I could think of was Godzilla's destructo eye beams. Where's a cheesy Japanese special effects guy when you need him?
Maggarita

That's a good one Maggarita! So perfect.

At what point did Erika think the marriage was for real? I distinctly remember them saying it was all a farce, blah, blah, blah.

Dios is going to be very busy with all the prayers lately.

Who is the man with the hat, that does the Direct TV commercials? I know the Marilyn Monroe look alike has a talk show.

Julie, Do novelas know about DNA?

So what is Aurora going to think when she sees her birth certificate? Why is she now trusting Damian, unless Fernanda asked her to find out what he's up to. At least she's not crying.

Erika had to hear a little of the argument between Fer & Fr/Ed. Most people would start to put 10 & 10 together.

From the avances, looks like Santiago is back in the picture. Glad he's back & I think we will see a different Santiago when he finds out what's been going on.

Fernanda has some really good dreams.

Thanks, Jody...episodes are getting really good now that we are in the home stretch. Yes, why would Padre and Franco think AB was to blame? Camilo would be my first guess (but I have to admit, I thought he was getting Esteve out of the house so Camilo could attack Venus).

The white gown was nice, and I really liked the rose dress Fernanda wore to the supper. The 'do rag: nope.

When Fer and Franco were arguing in the hospital, my husband said, "Now Erika will show up," and she did.

LR

The annoying friend always shows up during a big argument scene. I think it is a rule. Maybe that is what she needs to get it through her big thick head that he doesn't love her and doesn't really want to marry her.

Thanks for the recap Jody. I can see how they would think AB did the beat down on Esteve. AB was just with the Padre threatening everyone. Made sense to the Padre and the first person Fr/Ed talked to about it was the Padre, so that would be the first guess or at least lead down that path. That is what I thought the other night. The Padre was there and I said, "oh no, they are going to suspect Artemio instead of Cadmanho". Padre probably thought he led AB's men over there and they did it. Easy to see. If the Padre wouldn't have been there, I think it would have swung first to Cad. I don't think the good Padre knew about Cad's previous actions.

JeffMN

Thanks, Jody, for the very helpful recap. I see I missed a lot of crucial information (como siempre).

I didn't think the assumption that AB was behind Steve's beating was all that far-fetched. After all, AB told FrEd that he wanted to meet Steve Norton, and soon after he went to visit Padre Bosco and was very menacing. It takes only a slight beanie adjustment to buy the conclusion that AB did in Steve.

Julie, I liked your thinking about how to get AB to see "Eduardo's" cadaver and the problem of the DNA. Perhaps they can ask FrEd to donate some blood, which they will pour over some parts of the corpse. The blood will dry, and then if AB takes a scraping from the skin or some hair, perhaps Eduardo's DNA will be what's found. Yuck! My beanie is crying for more adjustment.

Jody, what a wonderful recap. Your description of Franco's moment of clarity was dead on. I fully expected him to clap his forehead and say, "Oh dopey me, why didn't I think of Camilo?"

I hate comas in these TNs. Everyone who knows or ever had anything to do with the afflicted one feels compelled to stand at the bedside and pour out their hearts uttering inanities that just consume valuable time. The comatose patient is the fortunate one in these situations.

Nanda in her white gown...wow!

Carlos

Thanks Jody great episode and even better recap, and yes, as things get hotter, some of us need more help with the dialogue!

JudyB: on AB and Gonzo, I agree with your comments. We haven't talked much about what a great job that actor is doing.

Julie: On Fer's clothes, yes, all of a sudden she looks so much better. It is almost as if someone else is doing her wardrobe.

Marggarita and Connie:. On Erica, kudzu and velcro, very good descriptions.

Someone on the set crew loves lime green. The emergency room had EVERYTHING painted green. Don't think I have ever seen that exact shade in a hospital, not even in Florida.

Poor Father Bosco, the actor does "scared rabbit" so well! Why didn't Fr/Ed handle the big cheese, AB himself?

Sandy

Fernanda got an impactada when Lofely admitted lying about Camilo being with un hombre. She is in for a few more.
Lofely is Venus
Tio Esteve is not her tio
Babs is Rebeca Sanchez & Aurora's Mom
Franco is Eduardo

Tonight s/b good, 18 to go

Another lively episode, followed by a greta recap! Thanks, Jody.

I have to jump on the bandwagon deriding the estupidez we are seeing. let's see, suspecting AB instaed of Cad, then thinking of blowing Franco's cover; Cad doing the attack, especially with his frat bros joining in, then admitting to it to his sister that has already threatened to turn him in for Abora's rape; Fr/Ed blowing a cork of jealsoy when he appears to be going thru with the idiotic marriage to Err, Err wanting to marry Fr/Ed despite her knowing he's not into her but Fer. Fernanda continues to be the only one that considtantly acts like a normal and rational adult.

So now it appears that Rumpole has to come up with some putrified corpse to send over the AB, as well as salt it with Eddy's DNA. Why didn't he just say that Eduardo's ashes were behind door #2? The old boy doesn't think too well on his feet. This should be interesting.

Lili libre, Que se muere Camilo

Vario- I think Direct Tv Mas pitchman's first name is Andreas, but can't think of the apellido, and can't think of where I know him from. Handsome gent, and I love his hat...

Yes, DDAve...The actors, as they were reading their daily scripts must have said to one another, " You gotta see what stupid thing I do today. Then, oh, do you think that's stupid, wait until you hear this!" You know they must have been dying of laughter. I always miss the"Cristina" show, it might be worth watching this time. Although, they'll probably toe the line and say nothing as all actors do!!

Sandy in TN

Padre always looks like he's about to have a heart attack. It works for him though.

The Direct TV guy is very handsome. I don't know who he is either.

I keep harping on the Venus thing, but really, has she become the heroine for truth and justice? No matter what Cad did, he didn't do anything to her (previous to the announcement). Yes, he should be punished big time, but really was it Venus' (or Steve's) position to do it? And now, coming clean on her little "white" lie to Fernanda is extra repugnant.

Vario & Dave, the DirectTv pitchman is Andres Garcia. He used to big a big novela star. I saw him in "Mujeres Engañadas", my first novela.

Jackie

Jody, as always, thank you for the great recap.

Erika is like one of those rare earth magnets.

Too bad they didn't keep the ESwat team, they could have wacked Cami with no question asked and ESteve would not be in the hospital.

rsk

Anon, well Cami did cheat on Lovely with his old amante even as he was intending to marry her. Now whether that gives her license to do what she did is a matter for debate. Frankly, as far as I'm concerned whatever he gets from here out is merited no matter who the executioner is.

Carlos

Julie, that line about the nuns getting tired of answering the door is so funny! I can just see them. "Dios mio, who is it now?"

I wonder why the nuns didn't tell Dam to "button up" this time? Maybe that's just Madre S, and the younger nuns don't mind...

Judy, ITA about the actor playing Gonzo/Artie. He's great! I wonder how much time he has to spend in makeup every day?

Fer did look great in the white gown. But as usual, Erika showed up. I can't help liking Erika, but honestly, even I have to admit she's getting to be like a rash that never goes away.

Franco has told Erika he doesn't love her, he's in love with another woman and it's a marriage of convenience.

Erika's mom has questioned Erika as to why Franco is always big-upping Fernanda.

Chelsie took a picture of Franco and Fernanda together holding hands and gave it to Erika.

Franco is not affectionate with Erika, barely kisses her, refuses to sleep/spend the night with her. Quite frankly, Erika should be wondering if FRANCO is gay, not joking on Camilo.

Erika has resorted to stalking Fernanda and importing a slimy dude from Spain to distract Fernanda.

Erika's not going to get it unless she sees Franco grabbing Fernanda and giving her that smooch like he did when they were at the country house and Fernanda was wearing that Brownie dress. And even then, she'll blame Fernanda instead of accepting the fact that Franco. Does. Not. Want. Her.

Thanks, Jody. I had a busy day yesterday and fell asleep during the show. I missed Fer's dream. Darn. I like the dream sequences. I agree that Fer's wardrobe is getting much better. I'm sorry I missed the wedding gown. Maybe it will be the same one she wears when she and Ed finally get married at the end. Was Er wearing a maternity wedding gown in Fer's dream ? I saw the guy in the Direct TV commercial on a Telemundo novela. He is a finelooking man. I can't remember the title , but it was a few months ago, and he played a guy who died and his alma went into the body of a hot , young peasant [who was that sexy actor who never smiles with long, dark curly hair...Mario Somebody]. By the way, does anyone have Direct TV? Hub is thinking about getting it. Maybe the nuns should install a revolving door. I have no idea what Barbie plans to do with the dynamite. I am wondering how this will play out. Who will kill whom ? Maybe Barb will die saving Aurora from AB ??? Cad must die. Will Saintly Santi beat him up before he gets hit by the pie cart ? Maybe Dam will end up in prison with a cellmate named Killer. Er needs to get a hobby/job/pet/grip/life. I am soooo tired of her.

When Barb was watching Dam go in to see Aurora, I was thinking if she had the explosives now, she would probably put it in Dam's car. :)

JeffMN

Everyone is making good comments today about Erica. I used to think that Shelly Winters played the most annoying woman on the planet, no, Mirasol plays the most annoying woman on the planet. At first I was giving her latitude on romancing Ed/Fr, but he gets colder by the minute and there is soooooo much chemica between Fer and Franco. I hope a lot of young women are watching this TN, we have two perfect examples of how to, and how not to conduct your self in romantic relationships, Fer, strong and independent, Erica the human "kudzu" plant.

Sandy in TN

Susanlynn: Most important of all, Er also needs to get a guy who is into HER.

MEPS in AZ

Variopinta, SOME telenovelas know about DNA... and certainly AB does because he said he wanted a sample from Eduardo's corpse.

If I'm not mistaken, he also said he wants to compare it to a sample from Soledad's husband. (I missed the explanation as to how/where he got that.)

Of course, if by some bizarre circumstance it turns out that Ed's father wasn't Soledad's husband, there will be a problem. But I sorta doubt that.

Ah, in case anyone doesn't know:

ADN in Spanish = DNA in English

I also agree that Venus owed Caamii one for cheating. She also wanted to finish the act Esteve put her up to—not Cami’s fault, but still... She was also unknowingly settling the score for a lot of other crap he had dealt out. It’s called Karma Novela.

I loved it when Venus and Padre Bosco were looking for Steve and he was calling “Esteve” almost as if he was emphasizing the first syllable. LOL!

Susanlynn: “Maybe Barb will die saving Aurora from AB” That would be good! And she’ll tell her in her last gasping words who her ma is, maybe pa too.

Julie, “ADN in Spanish = DNA in English” Thanks!

Lately I’ve been falling asleep during the MEPS. Not because it’s not action-packed, but b/c I’m so worn out from trying to get a picture with my rabbit ears, I don’t have the strength to concentrate on these rapid-fire conversations.

I hope I get to watch in Oregon next week. 6:00! I hate missing anything this close to the end!

Sandy - The hospital reminds me of something out of the 50's (which of course, no one else besides me watching this TN is old enough to remember). They were green also, but not quite so limey. Sylvia from GA

Julie- AB somehow knows that Eddy's dad is buried in the church cemetary in Villa Madera, or did Rumpole tell him that? Don't remember which.

Sylvia from GA....trust me. I'm old enough to remember something from the fifties! Move over, you've got company.

Sylvia and Judy, make it a threesome, I remember the 50's very well and Sylvia, I grew up in Douglasville, Georgia, but, I have been living in Nashville for long time.

On the green, I noticed that even the countertops in the nurses station were green!

Sandy in TN

Susanlynn, I think the TN you're referring to is "El Cuerpo del Deseo," and Mario Cimarro plays the hottie Salvador Cerinza.

Yes, the DirecTV pitchman is Andrés García. He was the older man galan in my very first novela, El Privilegio de Amar, with the young couple being Adela Noriega and Rene Strickler. I got quite a big crush on him during that novela.

I also saw the one where he played the older man whose spirit enters a handsome young man, Mario Cimarro. It was called El Cuerpo del Deseo.

Unfortunately he was in a sleazy reality show "El Principe Azul" in which they try to find a novia for his handsome young son. He ogled all the young women and behaved pretty badly throughout, so my deep love withered and died.

I believe he has a web site with some pictures of him when he was a young man acting in Mexican movies. A total babe!

Wan't the hospital green in FELS too? Maybe that was just the nuclear fall-out.

Will we be seeing more of Miguel tonight do you think?

Hey Connie, what did you think of Miguel sans shirt?
Maggarita

Juanita~Yes..that's the one. Mario is a hottie but too unsmiling for me. His expression always seems to say ''Si, si, I am H.O.T.'' In fact, Miquel kind of had the same expression. You know, the one that some hot guys have...that little sneer because they are secure in the knowledge of their hotness. Cad has it , too...but he is delusional. Hot he is not. To me , sweet is hot, and even though FC is H.O.T. squared, he also seems muy sweet. The trult hot guys have no idea how hot they are. I really don't think Er should get Miquel as a consolation prize for...what?...her sheer persistence of a two-year-old ?...He's MINE..MINE...MINEEEEE. I think she should work on her resume and find a job or volunteer at some local charity . Let her create some kind of life for herself...then , she can find a guy. Of course, Miquel seems equally superficial and spoiled, so they maybe they deserve each other.~~~Susanlynn, off to take a required online course on sexual harassment...the one that Barbie never took....there will be a quiz and a certificate issued to me if I pass which I must then send into to Human Resources....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Love your recap, thanks Jody. I don't usually write but want to share a couple of thoughts today. Connie 08:50 you asked when did Erika get the notion that the marriage was not a fake? she didn't decide that on her own. I don't remember her exact words but she asked him if they could go ahead with the marriage and he said yes. That's one reason I'm not willing to assign all of the blame on her for missing clues when Franco has been going along with the program like a willing puppet.
Anon 11:13 you and I have the same thoughts about Venus. She was involved in a game against Cami, She never loved him and had no intentions of marrying him. Yet she had the nerve to enter his house without permission and get pissed when she found him with another woman. She dangled a carrot in his face pretending to be wealthy. Her lies made her appear to be a good catch. She overdid it as far as I'm concerned.
I know this is only a tele, but I prefer our justice system of trial by a jury rather than allowing a person to take the law into their own hands. I'd be a darn serial killer if I could get away with knocking off a few of the men who cheated on me.
Missy

Very early in this TN, I speculated here that Artie is Eddie's daddy. Maybe Artemio knows full well where to get his comparative DNA.

Add my name to the old folks group of this site. Growing up I only saw the inside of a hospital once when I had my tonsils out. Everything was green, even the warm Jello they brought me when I came to.

Carlos

I guess I need to join "I Remember That Club". As a youngster I volunteered during the summer at the local hospital and it was green. When they built the new wing it was white - what a difference it made in everyone's attitude. We always called it institutional green.

rsk

Miguel was not too bad without his shirt! I still don't like his over-agressiveness. He needs to dial down the testosterone a notch. Next thing you know he'll be running around lifting his leg, and marking his territory! :-P

Sorry, thanks for the response Missy. I just didn't remember Fr/Ed saying that.

thanks for the recap............ i needed it last night... i can never understand what AB says when he talks...... and then to put padre Bosco with him was even worse..........i hope Fr/Ed goes after the orange oompa loompa and kicks his ass, royal.... he is so awful to hurt esteve and then ask Fernanda if he is still living..... i would go after him if i knew where he lived.....punk.....Erika is a sweet girl and i too like her....... but right now she is awful and her big smile is annoying me.......she is always around.........What does Barbie have up her sleeve?....explosives and all......i think the convent would be the target inorder to get Aurora out and damage the place so she has no where to go....let's see... BNinCA

Carlos, I'm pretty sure you and I are contemporaries. Ditto on the tonsils - at age 5 (did every kid in the 40s have their tonsils out??). But kids in my town were supposed to go to Children's Hospital. They couldn't take me there for some reason, so I had mine yanked at the adult hospital. I was completely cosseted, spoiled and waited on hand and foot by the nurses AND doctors, a factor that I think set me on the road to liking medical personnel early on.

Vis a vis Artemio being Fr/Ed's father, anything is possible. And we know that this is a staple of TNs - that the evil villain, often played by Cesar Evora, turns out to be the father of the galan. The thing that makes me doubt this is that Soledad looked to be about 11 or 12 when AB was born. The age difference makes it seem unlikely to me.

I'm with you BN. We should all go kick his ass! I can't understand Artemio either. It makes my throat hurt when I listen to him. I wonder how he does that?

Novelera, good point about the age difference. That little detail had slipped my mind. I'm not quite ready to completely abandon the prospect however. In Gancho we have a budding romance between a 16yr. old boy and a somewhere over 25yr. old woman. The fact that Artie is don Jerónimo's and Ana Gregoria's son doesn't seem like a dark enough secret to have held us as hostages for for lo these many months.

Carlos

Novelera~~That's just what I was thinking. Soledad was around 10-11-12 when Artie was born, so I don't think Art is Ed's dad. Carlos and Novelera~~I enjoyed your tonsils stories. I didn't have mine out until the summer I was 18...right after I graduated from high school. My tonsils were infected and I got sick all the time. I asked to be put to sleep....bad idea. The doctor removed my adnoids and one tonsil before I started bleeding badly. As I woke up , I heard the doctor telling my mother''She still has one tonsil .'' I started to bawl. I had lost so much blood that I was pale as a ghost and my boyfriend [now Hub] took one look at me and thought that I was going to die . He went out to his car and cried. The doctor kept pestering me later to have the other tonsil out , but I told him that I'd be buried with it....I still have it. However, after getting the one tonsil and adnoids out, I stopped getting sick all the time.

I had my tonsils taken out when I was 5. When I woke up, I was told I could have all the ice cream I wanted. I think this was wise post-operative therapy. In fact, I think I'll have some right now!

Jody - thank you for the recap. Have been without internet access all day. Can't believe they never suspected Camilo. Thank heavens Venus has a brain.

Had my tonsils out when I was 6, in 1958. I remember green hospitals and green schools. I think it was considered to be a 'calming' color.

Jody, thank you so much for your great and informative recap.

Months ago, Erika was in her home at a desk, designing something, perhaps her bridal gown, but I think maybe boots because on the wall were two photos/drawings of boots which I wouldn't think anyone but a designer would have on display. She certainly has oodles of time on her hands so she may just dabble in design. Or maybe, I hallucinated the whole thing since no one else noticed.

I always thought the green paint was left over from the military.

Tks for the info on Andrés Garcia. Í'll ck him out.

I compare everyone to FC, while hot, Miguel doesn't come close to El Hunkisimo. Still think he and Erika will end up together, hey we are running out of time & men.

I don't think Soledad was robbing the cradle. We've seen her husband & supposedly Eduardo's father in a picture. He died when Ed was VERY young. Surely if it was Artemio, someone would know, Silvestre, Gonzo ie.

Now that I'm thinking about it, why does Artemio feel ill about Soledad & Eduardo? I know Soledad knows the secret & may have told Eduardo, who may have told Padre Bosco. But Soledad was kind to Ana Gregoria. She went to work for the Elizaldes but she had to survive.
If that is the secret, Silvestre knows it also & he's not on the hit list.

Unless------There is another secreto.

Doris, I wondered where you where... was it all the rain?

It isn't the green, it's the LIME green!

Look forward to a fun MEPS night....

I do hope there's another secreto with AB, because I've found his motivation for vengeance to be way out of proportion to what actually happened to his mother. Punishing these Elizaldes will accomplish nothing; and does he think his mother would be proud of what he did to Soledad? Are we missing a page from his diary or something?

Yes, Fr/Ed did indeed agree to the marriage based on Erika's suggestion that their love could be like a seed that will grow with time. So far, though, I think all we've got is a moldy seed in a pot of mud.

As for green and tonsils, I am too young to remember things from the 50s firsthand, but I'm not too young to remember things painted that color. Some of the walls in my school were painted in horrific hues. Donated paint, I presume (it was a Catholic school that the diocese was just itching to close).

On the other hand, I didn't have my tonsils taken out 'til I was 33, but I was never so happy to be rid of something. Except for that one guy. ;o)

rsk, I think I remember hearing that very thing when I was a child. Not about the hospital, but the ubiquitous walls in every public school.

Variopinta, exactly.

Julie, funny.

See you later, it's that time.

Jody, thanks for the excellent recap! My apologies for not getting to it sooner...I didn't get to watch the ep last night and Mr. 5ft INSISTED that I not read the recap or watch the ep without him...meaning I had to wait until tonight! And just in time, cause it's about to start for me in 3 more minutes :)
