MEPS - Wednesday, Sept. 23 - Erika stops the wedding then plays matchmaker with Fer and Fr/Ed; Fer learns Barbie and Don Artemio are Aurora's parents
* Alone in the rectory office, Erika talks with Fr/Ed about how he is marrying her to keep his promise like a gentleman. She understands the conditions to their relationship and their marriage, but at the same time, she thinks about her friendship with Fer. She asks Fr/Ed if he loves Fer? He sighs. She asks again. He says yes, he loves Fer. She thanks him for his honesty and then she tells him they need to get back to the church and their guests.
* Jacinto and Flor are trying to hold back raging bull Gardenia. Margie tells them to let her go. Gardenia is still fuming mad. Margie scolds her sister about how she being a capricious, spoiled runt only out for herself.
* Fr/Ed and Erika return to the church and the service. Daddy Gus is curious what happened - Mommy Dolly holds him back so he can't approach the couple. Erika asks Padre Bosco to repeat the vows to her. He does. She then asks him to repeat the part about love and marriage that he stated earlier in the service. Padre is confused but does so. Erika then blurts out her answer "NO ACEPTO!" (She can't marry him!) and then runs down the aisle to the front doors. The crowd and her parents are stunned.
* Outside Jacinto, Flor, Gardenia and Margie are still standing and arguing when they see Erika run out of the church with her parents on her heels. Jacinto assumes that the wedding was stopped after all. Gardenia smiles and does a little prayer of thanks to her lord 'Chuchito Lindo'.
* Steve leaves Fr/Ed at the wedding kneeling benches in front of the altar. Fer comes over and kneels beside Fr/Ed.
* Parents Gus and Dolly catch up to their daughter Erika at the coach and ask her what happened. Erika cries.
* Fer wants to know what happened. Fr/Ed says Erika asked him if he loved her (Fer). He had to tell the truth and say yes.
* At the hacienda, Jacomo with motorcycle helmet on his head gives Tomasa a note to give to Priscilla.
* Fr/Ed tells Fer that he still plans to rescue Lili and then disappear from their lives and Mexico forever.
* Priscilla opens the note and is stunned as she reads that she should visit Damian Gallardo and it's signed by Vladimir.
* Fer is stunned and wants to ask more questions. Fr/Ed stops her and tells her not to worry, just trust him. They stand up. Fer thanks Fr/Ed for everything that he's doing for her and her family; that The Lone Ranger would be proud of him; all that she asks of him is that he kisses her and tells her good-bye before he leaves. She leaves the church. Fr/Ed kneels down, cries and prays to Jesus for help, strength and courage to continue his plans to the end, he's scared, nervous, doesn't think he has enough strength; he feels so alone; he asks Jesus not to abandon him; he pleads for a sign that he isn't alone. That's when the hand of Jacinto touches his left shoulder - he turns to see Jacinto smiling down at him, he smiles back - then Steve's hand touches his right shoulder - he smiles up at Steve. He stands and the three musketeers leave the church arm in arm.
* Anibal is outside the stables telling the stablehand about the arrangements to sell Camilo's favorite black stallion. Stablehand leaves with horse as Priscilla approaches and hands Anibal the note from Vladimir. Anibal grumbles as he reads it. He asks when did this arrive? Priscilla says Tomasa received it from the messenger today. Anibal storms off - Priscilla yells out "where are you going?"
* At home, Mommy Dolly is crying hysterically and is confused. Erika is calm and in control and consoles her mommy. Mommy leaves. Fer enters the room. Erika looks at her - Fer is confused about what happened at the church. Erika says Fr/Ed loves her. Fer says that isn't possible - he's confused and reading things wrong - there's nothing but a close working friendship between her and Franco. Erika then reveals THE PHOTO of Fer and Fr/Ed at the restaurant and shows it to Fer. Fer is stunned.
* Anibal interrogates Tomasa in the living room about the note and the messenger. Tomasa is scared and nervous.
* Fer tells Erika that isn't what you think. Erika says then what is it? She wants the truth. Fer can't tell her the truth; she can't explain anything to her best friend. Erika pleads and asks for Fer to tell her the truth. She asks Fer if she loves Franco Santoro?
* In the bedroom, Anibal and Priscilla talk about the note - Barbie is outside the door eavesdropping - Anibal says Vladimir couldn't have sent it, he's dead, it must've been Damian. Barbie is rudely interrupted and called away by Gonzo. Anibal explains to Priscilla why he suspects Damian is behind this note and why he believes Vladimir is gone for good.
* Fer cries and explains how uncomfortable she is with Erika's question. Fer cries and explains how she can't tell her the truth - all she can do is plead forgiveness for keeping secrets from Erika; she never wanted to hurt Erika's feelings. Erika tells Fer that what happened at the church is for the best for all three of them. Now she and Franco won't be condemned to a love-less marriage. At the door of the living room, she tells Fer that now they all can seek and find the happiness and love that they each deserve.
* Outside at the fountain at Las Animas, as Jacinto takes the white horse from the stables, Fr/Ed talks with Margie about the wedding being cancelled at the church. Margie blames the capriciousness and big mouth of her little sister Gardenia. Fr/Ed doesn't blame Gardenia or anyone. Fr/Ed tells Margie his plans with Don Artemio.
* Gardenia is in her room, writing and reading and thinking about Eduardo.
* Fer and Santi are at the hotel room hideout. Fer tells Santi about Fr/Ed's plans to rescue Lili and with Don Artemio. Santi is desperate to see Aurora. Fer has to do all she can to calm her brother down and make him realize that to leave the hotel room now would be way too dangerous - Barbinator is still walking around and could spot him. She needs to leave to visit Aurora. Santi gives her a message to give to Aurora and their baby. Fer promises and leaves. Santi thought bubbles about Aurora.
* Aurora kneels and prays for forgiveness.
* Fr/Ed waits in the living room and tells the housekeeper that Jacinto is there with the white horse. Housekeeper leaves with the message. Erika enters. Fr/Ed apologizes for visiting and doesn't want to cause her any more pain. He asks her to listen to what he has to say. She agrees.
* Barbie stops Priscilla in the front room and asks how Vladimir died. Priscilla, stunned, says Vladimir died in an auto accident. Barbie then asks if Damian knew a secret about her baby. Priscilla is really shocked, and covered beautifully, telling Babs that they were hiding the fact that her father planned for her child to unite Prolasa (his company) with the 40% of Lactos. I think Babs bought it. (thank you novelera for the correction.) Barbie leaves. Priscilla grumbles thinking Damian told Barbie about her baby isn't an Elizalde.
* Erika tells Fr/Ed her parents are in shock and don't understand what happened. Fr/Ed thinks they must hate him. Erika tells him not to worry about that, she understands completely and is content with her decision. They discuss his love for Fer. He says it's an impossible love that can never be. She says that's not true, Fer told her that she loves him.
* Fer arrives and talks with Aurora in her room.
* Erika and Fr/Ed discuss Fer loves Franco, almost like she loved Eduardo long ago. Franco tries to explain that he can never be with Fer, it's impossible, it's complicated, he just can't be with her at all. He then changes the subject and asks Erika about her plans. She says that she will travel to Argentina to live with friends and work at a fashion boutique there. She will also work to turn her life around so she stops making the same mistakes she had been making with love.
* Fer talks with Aurora - Aurora is anxious to talk and see Santi. Fer calls Santi on her cell phone. Santi is like a tiger in a really small cage right now, and grunts his disgust to Fer on the phone. Fer starts to smile and tell Santi clues to where she is. Santi starts to perk as he realizes she's with Aurora. Fer hands the cell phone to Aurora. Santi and Aurora finally talk. (Aw! how sweet!)
* Fr/Ed wishes Erika the best with her plans and offers to help her if she needs anything. Erika thanks him and wishes him and Fer all the best also. Fr/Ed leaves. Erika cries.
* Aurora gives the cell phone back to Fer. Fer assures her that Santi will return. Aurora then starts to tell Fer about Barbie's latest visit and how she asked Aurora to leave with her. Fer is intrigued to hear what happened. Aurora explains about Santi helping her find out her mom's name is Rebeca Sanchez, and then Barbie just revealed to her that she is Rebeca Sanchez. Fer is shocked as she realizes that her evil stepmommy is Aurora's mom. (WHOA!)
* Gonzo waves as the police commissioner's car leaves.
* Flashback - Aurora wailing and scolding Barbie about her revelation that she is Aurora's mom and Don Artemio is Aurora's dad. Barbie is in the office, crying and grumbling and determined to convince Aurora to be with her forever. Gonzo enters the office. He goes to the desk and hands Barbie all the paperwork for her inheritance of his estate. Barbie thought bubbles how she will use the papers to double-cross and get revenge against Don Artemio.
* Fer and Aurora continue their talk about Barbie's revelations to Aurora. Aurora tells Fer that the name of her father is Don Artemio Bravo. Fer is shocked.
* Fr/Ed talks with Padre Bosco in his church office about his visit with Erika. Erika told him that Fer loves him. He is frustrated because he knows that Franco Santoro doesn't exist. Padre Bosco asks him about his plans. Fr/Ed is determined to complete his outstanding promises in town - to rescue Lili and to award Eduardo's cadaver to Don Artemio. (UY!)

Actually, I don't think Babs knows that Vlad is the real father of Pris' baby. She didn't overhear that, just that there was a secret that Damian knew. Pris covered beautifully, telling Babs that they were hiding the fact that her father planned for her child to unite Prolasa (his company) with the 40% of Lactos. I think Babs bought it.
How did Damian know to send Pris a note from Vlad? I thought he considered him dead and toasted the poor schnook's demise with giggling Jacobo and champagne.
Does Fer know about the Rebeca Sanchez bank account?
And, something that has been bothering me all week ... how come Babs has stopped talking about flying Aurora to Italy? Her first move was to tell her she was taking her to Santiago. Now she doesn't mention him at all, just how happy they'll be together with all the money she's "saved". Doesn't the usually shrewd Babs wonder why Aurora isn't asking about these flight plans?
It was nice to see the actress playing Erika doing a very good job of being a real person instead of a squealing fool.
I thoroughly enjoyed Margarita's dressing down of Gardenia. She basically told her: you do this and you're dead to us.
Did anyone else think that Gardenia was practicing shorthand?? I thought I recognized it, or something like it. Not that I actually ever knew it....

OT, if I may. We've often talked on Caray about the wonders of learning Spanish with a "hairy dictionary," a native speaker novio or friend. It's a FANTASTIC way to improve your Spanish! I now have regular Skype conversations with my best friend's brother, P., an electronic engineer in Mexico. He said many of his colleagues would like a similar opportunity (native English speaker study partner via Skype, or perhaps even e-mail). I said I'd check here for interest.
Anyone interested? P. and I can arrange a swap of e-mail addresses, and then you work out the details among yourselves. I requested P. that he limit it to people he knows personally (mostly coworkers and classmates from his English class), who have a university degree. If YOU (the English speaker) don't have a degree, that's fine. If you're interested, e-mail me at paulah88@hotmail.com . I will check this board through the day to answer any questions.
Sounds like quite an episode...your recap zipped right along with one "biggie" after another. Hope my recorder worked and I can see it later on today.
Thanks, amiga.
Eduardo's objectives from the beginning were to "conquer", presumably by death or jail, the "dark forces" against the Elizaldes.
Now, he's going to leave and do nothing with Artemio and he will continue his vendetta? And Barb will be allowed to go free? And Artemio (after Babs gives it to him) will end-up own 60% of the company? As if the freeing of Lili means it all ends?? (Note that Artemio can just re-kidnap her the next day.) And what happens with the "investment" he made with Lili's money - $10 Million just evaporates into thin air? Actually, I guess 60% of it will just go to Babs and then to Artemio. How utterly stupid.
And, Fernanda just accepts that Franco says he loves her but must leave her for some mysterious reason that he won't tell her.
and on and on.
Oh well, this fall looks like it will be one of the best US Television seasons in quite awhile. I'm leaving these telenovelas at least till next spring for some real dramas that make sense. I had originally signed onto this novela because of Colunga and the plot looked a bit more different and interesting than the normal telenovela plot. Boy, was I misled.
Silverfox
Erika indeed for the first time in the show was totally sane and warm even in her pain. Very classy how she acknowledged her love for her "sister" Fernanda and that now they each could seek their true loves. If Mr. Haaaavad had just had some plain common horse sense and said in the car, "Santo Dios, Eres Tu Fernanda, Yo Soy Eduardo Juarez" this whole frickin agony wouldn't have taken place. . . .but then neither would the novela.
Paula, I have been thinking of using Skype this way but for some reason I'm scared. I'll e-mail you to hear more about your experiences and the people on the other end who want to do this. Like you I got frustrated and You Tubed this show for many weeks and mourn the excommunication of esnovelas from YT. I'll hang on now till the end.
I watched this because of Pasion (live) and Alborada (YT) to see this fine specimen of a man once again. This was weird, not nearly as much passion as Pasion but, oh well....Just wanna see Barb taken down. Her maternal love moveth me not, time for her to begin her term of thermal rehabilitation in that infamous hacienda down below.
Khalilah
Erika..... who are you, and what did you do with our bubbly, giggly, irritatingly annoying airhead? I *loved* the Erika of last night and wish we had seen more of that version.
By backing out of the wedding herself, Erika got to save face. I sort of liked that.
Babs .... I conclude that Babs is a sociopath and needs to be locked away in a prison for the criminally insane if she isn't killed by someone.
I wonder if the Marcario (sp?) story line will be Babs' undoing. They keep coming back to it, and the guy was only in one episode. Perhaps their CSI team will match up a shoe print on his back to la Hiena.
Jarocha - thank you (!!!) for the youtube link on Monday. You're a life saver.
I don't recall the name Rebeca Sanchez coming up between Aurora & Babs. If Babs had said she was RS that would have proved it to Aurora.
Not sorry to see this TN end but sure going to miss Sr. Scrumptious.
Has anyone heard what or if FC is working on anything? I am also a Silvia fan now.
I loved her dress, the color & when she turned around, I thought it was fabulous.
I'm wondering if when Aurora said her father was Artemio Bravo, if Fernanda thought oh, oh, a problem with the hijo.
We got a great 'no puede ser' from Fer at the end of this capitulo.
So will this end on 'cadaver' Monday or after that? It must be Sunday now, wedding was on Saturday. We have like 9 hours (2 shows this week, 5 next week, and 2 hours on Oct 5) left. Will most of those 9 hours take up the next day or so?
Novelera... "How did Damian know to send Pris a note from Vlad?" I wondered as well, lost my beanie was thinking about it too much. They thought Vlad was dead, why would they sign it from Vlad? I guess they must think that she thinks Vlad is still alive and she doesn't know about the plan?
Connie... "Martina's dress--I guess they let people wear bath towels to weddings now." That's just what my wife thought. She also said, 'what's Martina wearing, a bath towel?' :)
JeffMN
Paula H. Hi, you say you dropped out because things were moving too slow? I tried Skype once and found it slower and frustrating because you don't have a face to identify with. Who picks a topic? It gets boring real fast. I watch the novela's both for interest and to add another dimension to my Spanish learning. I try not to get overly involved in the plot (well except for MEPS, that one was a joke). But IMHO practicing with a person via Skype couldn't replace having my daily dose of a novela with recaps for dessert. But, to each his own.
Bea - you meant FELS. Don't worry, all telenovelas (well, almost all) are pretty silly. We watch to improve our Spanish skills and just flat-out be entertained, mostly by doing lots of eye-rolling and making fun of the 'novelas here. :o)
I'm so glad to see Aurora finally using her brains. Better late than never.
I took guilty pleasure in seeing Anibal selling Camilo's horse, too. Ani must be counting on Cami being locked away for a looong time. I wonder if Cami will end up in the same jail with Lucio & Damian.
Nice job, Erika. You redeemed yourself completely & buried the squealing teenager. Go find Miguel & live happily ever after. (& I saw a flicker of Jimena last night...that was a much better role than this one)
SilverFox, I hear you. I guess after FELS (which was so completely stupid that it ended up being a comedy) I know I had high hopes for MEPS but it's really just a soap opera devoid of any reality. Beanies are mandatory. Or as Creemelo once said: "just let it go, let your brain float like a canned pear half in partially-set red jello."
Maggarita
:-/
Bea, if you have a webcam, you can use Skype with the webcam and see the person you're talking to live.
How did you like her eye-roll when Gonzo called her away from her ease-dropping on Anibal & Pris.
I'm waiting for Obregón to make another appearance.
Pasion was the best. Seriously. We had an overload of hotties & after that, it seems like everything has been a disappointment.
Maggarita
p.s. my word verification on my last post was "dildita"...hmmmm. Spanish for little dildo??
I wonder what will happen to Gonzalo. I really like that character. But he's making it harder and harder for me to hope he doesn't have to die for his poor judgments. Personally, I think that just finding out how he's been lied to and misled by Babs will be punishment enough.
The Fr/Ed workout scenes were too few. If we could even have had one once a week would have been ok with me.
I'm not real big on the guy that is in the new one coming up. He was in that show with Marichuy. He looked like someone punched him in the mouth.
Do you think Cammmiii and his cat-butt mouth will be popular in jail?
My new heroine is Erica. Who could have guessed that such a seemingly silly self-centered ingenue would end up being arguably (at least for the moment) the most reasonable and admirable of this bunch?
Of course I'm not abandoning Gardenia who I still predict will make us all very proud before the hounds are put up.
Carlos
The other day when she was climbing through the window I was thinking why couldn't she have done that when Lucio kidnapped her? And Lucio didn't even have the window wired shut!
Silverfox and Khalilah -- just hang on with us to the end. it should be good.
Connie - if Univision shows the mexican ending, you'll enjoy Anibal's punishment. Also, big giant head bandage on Steve - maybe it's a signal for a change in hair color.
Variopinta -- I think the Rebeca notation was Aurora putting two and two together. Aurora told Fer that Santi helped her discover her mom's name (Rebeca Sanchez). When Babs said she was Aurora's mother - hello! Ding-ding! Alarms went off in Aurora's brain. I don't think Babs knows that Aurora, Santi and now Fer know her real name. I can bet that Fer or Santi will tell Fr/Ed this information soon.
JeffMN -- remember Damian hates Anibal about as much as he hates Barbie - also remember Fer told Fr/Ed or maybe it was Aurora that Damian is only interested in one person, himself. So why wouldn't he try to get revenge on Anibal like he is trying for revenge against Barbie?
Jody :)
I don't think that Damian knows that Vlad is alive. I think he thinks that Pris thinks he is dead, and the note would get her interest enough to make her visit him, Dam. My question- why show the note to Any?balls? Just a plot sevice to prove to her that he ordered the hit that didn't happen?
I did enjoy Erika being a normal person for once, even if in a state of emotional shock. I'm glad that the acterss (Marisol?), has much better depth than she has been showing.
As so many others have said, there seem to be a lot of unresolved issues left hanging. Maybe I'll keepa flow chart for Sortilegio to keep track of things. Gawd, that would be taking the whole thing toooo seriously.
Bad timing, taking a trip to Whistler, B.C. next week, not sure if I'll be able to watch the last week's episodes....
William Levy is in Sortilegio, right? He looked perpetually perturbed with Marichuy but he was muy caliente as Camila's horny brother Vapid Vasco.
Maggarita
I was certain Evil Barbie was going to push Gonzo down the "staircase of doom" after he interrupted her eavesdropping. I was totally surprised she didn't!
Somebody just has to go down the staircase of doom. It's one of those TN rules.
Still no phone throwing. For phone throwing we'll have to watch Destilando. I'm watching it here and there so I can alert us to any phone throwing mayhem.
Yes, Erika was great. So nice to see this actress really get a moment to show her depth. And so pretty without all the makeup.
I really hope Fer gets to Fr/Ed with all of the new info, it may change what he thinks his plans are.
FELS boys hairy?? Que? Franco, a little, and the cousin was Hobbit, but Juan and Oscar, not so much. Best FELS scene, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VUxJx6TY48 Kept me watching that stupid show! Oh Connie, how about a hot novella character who has bathing OCD!
FELS was my first novella, then I watched Alborada on youtube and was totally hooked. MEPS may not be great, but it is better than FELS. Its been fun with only a few stupid side stories, and no jungle scenes!
Oh yeah, Martina's dress???
Concerning above remarks about my earlier post on how "stupid" the writing is - I don't believe the telenovela will end with Artemio and Babs unpunished - as that would violate Telenovela Rule No 1 - the bad guy/gal always gets their due.
What I was saying was that at this point in time in the plot, the writers have the actions of Fr/ED being completed when Lily is freed and he will "leave para siempre" - and that he is going to simply leave Artemio and Babs unpunished. Implying he has accepted defeat and that is motivating his actions at this point. Just plain, stupid writing.
I have run across web pages before that show there are organizations and people in Mexico that believe the telenovela format is partially responsible for "dumbing down" the literary capabilities of the Latino people - and there is a shred of truth in that belief. Of course, the same could be said about the obsession of Americans with comic hero movies - but at least they are exposed to other literary forms. Even Melrose Place is a cut above a telenovela in terms of "literary value", even if it isn't Shakespeare.
There was a recent article in the news about a study which some have taken to mean that the decline in the birth rate in Brazil (from about 7ish kids per marriage to 2ish - can be blamed partially to mostly - on telenovelas. So, there can be good from telenovelas if one believes that slowing population growth is a good thing, even if the smaller population is less literary challenged.
Silverfox
And for those who know me, it has another important criteria for me.
CS-93 FOREVER!
Nice parallel of shipping out the two horses.
Such a sweet scene with Jacinto and Esteve standing by Fr/Ed in support. Los tres caballeros.
What miraculous recoveries: Esteve loses the bruises and Erika gains a calm maturity. Nice for her to have those scenes with Fer and Fr/Ed. She did look lovely with less makeup.
Has any other TN used the "no makeup" gimmick like they have in MEPS? I don't recall seeing that done before, but it has been interesting.
La Paloma
I know most of us hate Gonzo, and I agree he's stupid, foolish, gullible and insensitive. But I still think he can redeem himself (especially because Fernanda loves him). I'm hoping for some kind of climactic confrontation between him and Artermio Bravo, where they do a split screen or something, since it's the same actor. THAT would be exciting!
I liked Marisol Del Olmo here, she was perfect and I was glad that the writers let her show her chops so that we could know that it was the character who we disliked before and that this actress was just doing a great job by playing it.
I liked Margarita so much for the way she dealt with Gardenia tonight. She has been getting on my nerves since the novela started, and it's much more noticeable now that Aurora and Erika are not being annoying.
Silverfox this has been a terrible decade for novelas. I hope one day soon they can get back to the brilliance streak they had in the 90's (and some of them were just amazing). If you allow me, I would recommend for you to take a rest from them and maybe comeback and watch "Mi Pecado" when its on in the US wich I'll say is the best one we have on air right now, it has a bit of a feel of "Cañaveral de Pasiones", not as good but definitely not bad at all.
Paula: is nice to hear from you again!, somehow I knew you would be watching "Los Fabulosos Perez".
Jarocha
I meant to say on your earlier offer, I am up for it and will send my contact info to your email. My spanish is awful, I'm dying to learn and my son just won't be bothered with me. Thanks
I was surprised my hairy dictionary didn't see Martina in her towel. He thinks she is awesome! Me, not so much.
Margarita's voice is so irritating. I couldn't stand listening to her when she was yelling at Gardenia (not that she didn't deserve it of course). But then when Fer talks like that it doesn't bother me. Different tone maybe? When men speak Spanish it is more pleasing to my ear than when women speak it. Higher voice maybe? Don't know. Not to be sexist or anything.
Dam--shived in jail for smashing someone's phone. {joking ;)}
Barbara--
Artemio--
Anibal--
Gonzo--
It seems I used Fabulosos instead of Exitosos, sorry about that.
Jarocha
I just love that the friendship/sisterhood of Fernanda and Erika survived. Just sorry Chelsea, Erika's real false friend, did not get her comeuppance.
I'm a Masterpiece Theater fan when it comes to drama, but I'd never give up my novelas as I've never found a more enjoyable way to practice aural comprehension.
I've enjoyed this site for over a year and am so grateful for all the recappers and commentors. I've learned that I don't have the knack of writing comments that get responses, which is why I now only comment de vez en cuando sin mi nombre.
Jarocha: Oh, is Camil in LEP? I hadn't noticed! (jiji) The hairstyle is even goofier than DFTD, but of course I quickly got used to it. Fabulosos? Works for me!
CS-93 FOREVER!
rsk
Alborada is my favorite. I bought it and even though the DVD is awful, I watch it often.
I'm so pleased with Erika. And she did more than cry at the end of that meeting. She exhaled. ...several times. Getting it out and gone.
Molly, I was thinking of going back and watching it again too. The DVDs were really chopped up though. Those two should have gone up in a giant ball of flame or something. They were both just awful.
No one is as smart as Fernando Escandon! That was a great scene. Bam..... Bummer.
Barb sucked into an engine! Now that's what I'm talking about!
Then as Franco, what was this engagement to Erika supposed to accomplish? What would have moving to the United States with Erika have accomplished? With all the women in the US to pick from, and as a Harvard MBA, Franco would have had his pick of women if he couldn't have Fernanda.
Now as Eduardo again (b/c Franco Santoro died last night), what exactly is he hoping to accomplish? Because like somebody said, after Artemio liquidates Eduardo, he can just kidnap Lili again the next day.
The girl from the new Corazón Salvaje is Araceli Arámbula, "La Chule". She retired from novelas for a while to have her two kids. A friend (male) went to the tapings and he said she was very "chula" (gorgeous).
Jarocha
New from Matel! Jet-Engine Julienne'd Barbie! I love it!
Anonymous -- Eduardo had a dumb plan to begin with. He was going to get revenge on the Elizaldes and reclaim Fernanda. How exactly would getting revenge on Fernanda's family endear him to her?
**Actually his plan in the beginning, when his mom died was to get revenge on everyone who hurt her or abandoned her - meaning the Elizaldes and Barbara Greco. At that moment, his heart was broken because he had discovered from Fer herself that she forgot all about him and was marrying someone else. He saw her as someone who was guilty by association and by not saying anything.
Then as Franco, what was this engagement to Erika supposed to accomplish? What would have moving to the United States with Erika have accomplished? With all the women in the US to pick from, and as a Harvard MBA, Franco would have had his pick of women if he couldn't have Fernanda.
**The engagement to Erika was Fr/Ed's way of trying to heal his broken heart, start his life over and forget about Fernanda. The move back to the U.S. was his way of saying he wanted a clean and permanent break away from Fernanda and the pain that had broke his heart.
Now as Eduardo again (b/c Franco Santoro died last night), what exactly is he hoping to accomplish? Because like somebody said, after Artemio liquidates Eduardo, he can just kidnap Lili again the next day. **All I can say is you will have to stay tuned to the final episodes and the grand finale.
Jody :)
Don't think that novela will fall short in the eye candy department.
Jody :)
Ed/Franco's plan to take Erika to the USA and start a new life is badly flawed because what Erika know about him is based on lies and misinformation. Why not start a new life with someone from the states who he can be honest and upfront with? I can't get over the fact that he was going to marry her even after she made those remarks about Eduardo being the son of a cook and destined to be a servant. What was he thinking?? Reminds me of something an old boyfriend used to say. Because he had no college education, he used to say about the way educated people think: "All that sense and no common sense".
Ret
Babs, trampled to death by a stampede of vacas, in a pile of mierda.
Camilo, his compañeros de la cárcel should take care of him just fine.
Damian seems to acclimate pretty well to la cárcel.
Anibal, suffocating in expired powdered milk.
Artemio, Babs is going to take care of him
Anon at 2:57 I agree about the "message from the grave" implication in Damian's little note, though we could be giving the writers too much credit. I hope the next novela I watch has mucho testosterone-laced eye candy and much demonstration of its use as is "decently" possible. Wutten enough huggin' and kissin' and luuvin' in this for me. Too much anguish, angst and clenched jaws. Maybe one will be good enough, Anon 2:57 that we can get goofy names in the spirit of the story!
Sorry if you guys have discussed this over and over but when is Big EY going to be in the remake of Corazon Salvaje? and what is LEP? Jaime is my true Telenovio and I'm always ready to watch him, silly story or no.
Khalilah
I discovered You Tube through Jaime and there used to be a ton of YT clips of him and Lety set to every genre of music you can imagine. I think most have been taken down. Fernando has been named TBLMOE (The Best Looking Man On Earth), I dubbed Jaime TMBMOE, The Most Beautiful Man on Earth! (Oh my Garschk, I'm having a hot flash!!) Though I am a woman of a certain age, it is super fun to watch these fiiiiine young (or "seasoned" as the case may be) men flex their muscles, and woo the ladies, and swoon and cry manly tears and ride horses and. . .
Aye! That's more than you asked but I think I needed to carry on a bit. Thanks for asking!

Molly, pobrecita! You've only seen Jaime Camil in I Love Miami, and you STILL like him??? Wow! Just wait until you see him in something good! I'm a dedicated fan (I could watch Camil paint a fence. With the sound turned off. And a bag over his head!), but even I found Miami painful to watch.
If you want to see him shine in a movie, rent 7 Dias. See my review on NetFlix. But for his magnum opus.. Hanks had his Forrest Gump. Gable had his Rhett Butler. Orson Welles had his Kane. And Camil had his Don Fernando (La fea más bella). Incomparable!
But skip his Tontas. You're better off without it.

I wonder if Fr/Ed "planned" to take Erika to the US under the assumption that AB would kill him first and then he wouldn't have to follow through on his promise to Erika!
