I know I bailed on this show, but the least I can do is give you a place to post comments until a Friday recapper can be found.

Gosh, I was so blown away by Mad Men last night that I’m having trouble remembering what went on in Amor. But I do remember thinking that I thought it strange that Romina was in bed being pampered by her mother when all she is is pregnant. And that, even though she was pregnant and lying about who the daddy was, she was still adamant that her mother was making a fool of herself by having a boyfriend.

I also remember thinking that the actor playing Emiliano, Sebastian Zurita, wasn’t up to snuff in the crying department, and you just gotta be able to cry well to play lead galans. This does not bode well for his career.

And it sure would get tedious answering the phone at Casa de las Espinoza de los Monteros – what a mouthful!

Yeah, Maggie, having trouble remembering, too. :) Seems like Emil kept dragging his feet and didn't tell Paloma he is the supposed papa of Rom's child. What happened was that Rom and Crueloca got together and devised a plan. Pal wasn't able to get in to see Rom. Pal went home and Cruel told her that Rom was pregnant. Who's the papa? Well, who do you suppose, Emil, duh. Pal ran over to Rom's and yelled and screamed until Rom sauntered down the stairs (not having gained a pound in the 3-4 months she has been pregnant). Rom confirmed it was Emil's child , but... surprise, surprise, Paloma actually brought up the possibility of it being Germie, after all, Pal saw them kissing. A little bug-eyed action by Rom there, but she recovered nicely and still said it was Emil's.

Can't remember much else. Orly has told Cris he is sure that Emil is his son. Emil came to Cris later and told him about Rom being pregnant and Emil being the father. Cris asked if he had told anyone else, Emil said, just my father. Cris dumbly asks, Rafael? Emil says, well, duh, yes. Who else? :)

Much more I'm sure. :)
Word verification was 'inessi'. I sure good pet name for Ines. :)

After Romina was blindsided by Paloma's knowledge of her skanking around with German, Romina continued to assure her that the bebe was Emiliano's. She did recover well enough to ask why the paternity of her baby matter so much to her. Freeze frame - cliffhanger for the week.

I can't remember much else. Romina insisted to Paloma that there was never more than kissing between her and German, but from the previews it looks like he will confront her tonight.

Orlando actually took the samples to get the paternity test. Emiliano's office seems to have sprouted a private bathroom where previously I'm pretty sure there was just a file cabinet with the coffee maker on top of it.

Rodolfo went to try to ask German about Paloma's inheritance. Germs wouldn't tell him anything but was looking very curious...any day now he'll read all that mysterious information.

Emil finally decided to return Pal's phone calls right when she ran over to Rom's. So, Pal found out about him being a papa from everyone else and not him. I believe Rom did confirm to Pal that Emil was in the know and knew she was pregnant with 'his' child. So now, we'll have a few weeks of angst and why didn't you tell me, how could you do that. And also, I'm pretty sure, you have to give that child a proper father and marry up with Rom.

Another subplot, with Rafael being poisoned to Orly via Diana, he has passed that info on to Joel. Joel was out eating with Ange and was trying to convince her to leave Orly and come to work for them. Hey, what do you really know about that oily Orly? :)

Maggie: I always think the same thing about the way they answer the phone "Casa de las Espinoza de los Monteros" whew... if it's a long distance call you just racked up $10.00! How about just "hola"

I have been really impressed with Pal and Romina's acting. Romina is great at getting teary eyed.

I am so looking forward to the info Germie is going to find out working at Carlota's sleazy lawyers office. Also I hope he speaks up when he finds out Romi is pregnant. Or is that asking too much...

Juia – oh yeah, the bathroom! Orlando took the stuff he wanted to look through out of the bathroom and set it on Emil’s desk. Dumb move! What if Emil had come in just at that moment? Why didn’t Orlando just close the door and look through it there (except I guess they needed to give us the visual). Well, that’s all moot anyway, because Emiliano didn’t come in, nor did Angie …

Also, I noticed that at the DNA place, Orlando didn’t give a sample of his own DNA. What are they going to match it to?

Thanks everyone.

Germ really did look angry in the previews. He KNOWS it's his child. Imagine all the pain and angst he'd alleviate if he just stood up and admitted it to the world. There are so many interesting characters and so many undeveloped plot lines, let's get the true paternity revealed now...

Jeff, Paloma did surprise me by bringing Germ up to Romina. For a moment, I thought Romina might buckle. But, Romina is an accomplished liar and was easily able to think quickly and cover her tracks. Anon, I guess the best defense IS a good offense, hence her questioning Paloma as to why it mattered.

I laughed when Cris asked Emiliano if he meant "Rafa" when E mentioned his father. That was very unlike him. I think Cris has had far too many crisis to deal with recently! Too bad Emiliano's "two dads" aren't exactly friendly. Emiliano will need all the support he can muster.

Diana in MA

Maggie, the nurse at the lab said to Orlando, "okay, now I'll swab a sample from you" or something like that. They just didn't show it.

Thanks, Julia! I didn't catch that.

Maggie, I think I saw a toothbrush in there somewhere and it has to be Orly's because, otherwise, Emil would probably know that it, somehow, strangely disappeared.

You're right Jeff. Romi should look a little pregnant if she's 3-4 months along but she hasn't gained an ounce by the looks of it.

When will Pal tell Emil that she saw Germy and Romi smooching and will it make any difference since Emil already knows that Liliana said that Romi and Germy had a thing.

And Germy hasn't had the courage to tell Emil about his relationship with Romi so he may chicken out again. I hope not but he probably will and Emil will want to do the right thing and marry Romi so this novela can continue on for months and months, IMO

GinCA

GinCA, I agree that this will keep the TN going for quite awhile. I am curious to see if they will actually marry off Emil and Romi or keep them separate? I don't think Romi deserves dying (at least not yet) in the end. So if Emil and Romi marry, they would have to separate in the end to allow Emil and Paloma to marry. At least, that would be a normal ending.

I have to assume Romi will lie to Germie and say she also had sex with Emil. And then, boo-hoo. "Don't you believe me? I wouldn't lie to you." boo-hoo. sniff..

I just remembered something else. Friday night Carlota said to herself that she should have been the one to get pregnant by Chris to make him stay with her, and she’s going to make Paloma pay for their sin, which would be the sin sticking with each other (in her worldview). This represents a new motive for being so mean to Paloma. Up until now, Carlota has just said that she wants Paloma with her forever.

It would be wonderful if Emil and Romina weren't forced to marry but I was thinking of MEPS and Destilando where they married off the lead to someone else, making him/her unavailable, though there seemed to be some hankypanky going on between the leads, anyway.
GinCA

I think you early birds have caught everything that happened.

Yes, Carlota the Queen of Denial, now believes that, except for a cruel twist of fate, she could have been the one pregnant with Cris's kid and thus bound him to her forever. Unless it was Immaculate Conception, I don't think she stood a chance of getting pregnant, at least not by Cris!

Yeah, I thought for a split second that Pal would be able to fluster Romina, but she lies with conviction. I didn't see the avances, so I didn't know Germy would confront her tonight.

Pal continues to blindly cling to her illusions about Romina being really a good person. It goes back to when Romina was the one who helped her escape from Carlota, at least for a short while, living in her parents' old house, bringing her birthday cake. She still thinks of Romina as that brave child. So I doubt she'll suspect her "look right in the eye" assertion that the baby is Em's.

Still wondering how much more angst I can take. Especially since I've caught up with Sortilegio and know that it will be a quick 96 episodes (all the Zarattini/Estrada team ever do) and less misery than usual.

Also, Orlando got some comeuppance. He gathered the DNA stuff and talked to Cris about Emil being his son and felt pretty good about himself, getting pretty smug. He then went and talked to Camila and she told him she was not moving in with him any more because of Romi. He didn't see why she couldn't and asked what was going on with Romi. Camila wouldn't tell him though and he got pretty upset. Camila stuck to her guns and wouldn't tell him what was going on with Romi.

Thanks to all the commenters. I was dozing when Amor began and missed a good half hour. When I tried youtubing it, all I could come up with was the last half that i had already seen. So I'm grateful for all your comments.

That Romina gets me so angry -- she's such a liar!!! And Pal is another one -- she is so naive!!!
I think Liliana is the best -- she sees it and tells it like it is!!!

Can't wait for tonite...

Ann-NYC

PS - Do they do something to get all teary eyed?? I thought I read something to that effect...

I think some actors use eye drops or glycerin on their cheeks for the teary effect, but some really can cry at will. Onions usually work for me, not that I'm an actor.

I like Liliana, too, and also Eric. They seem sane and reasonable. I hope Lili tells Emiliano her doubts about the baby's paternity, if Germy doesn't. But really I hope Germs comes clean to Emiliano on his own...not that it's likely, this being a telenovela and all. German seems to be at a fine balancing point on the scales...he could go precipitously either good or bad at any moment.

I can't see what possible benefit German would get out of keeping quiet about the paternity of his child. Of course, Romina always gives him brain freeze just by looking into his eyes and making him think he has another chance to jump her bones.
