Sortilegio #12, Wednesday October 21, 2009: We got some wrinkles out – but have started a fire with the iron. It is really getting HOT in here!

From yesterday -
We start out at the hotel room where MJ is worried about papa. He has no money.

Victoria is arguing with Ale , remember Bruno is your brother etc.

Rachel goes nuts to Victoria and gets put in place etc.

Supper is over MJ goes down to the desk.

Papa is getting on the train or bus.

MJ gets the letter from Papa, where he asks forgiveness and says for MJ to trust Alejandro. She is reading it and hears Ale ask “Why did you do it?”

Tonight –

MJ runs away Alejandro gives chase where they run into Bruno. “What are you doing here?” Bruno says angrily . “It is obvious, isn’t it?” Alejandro replies. “I am here for my wife”

Bruno grabs MJ away and says she doesn’t go with him. They start to get in each other’s face and MJ gets between.

Bruno, grabs MJ and says “let’s go.” That makes Alejandro angry and he gives Bruno a fist in the mouth.

Fernando takes this distraction to lead MJ to the safety of their room.

The hotel is calling the police.

Bruno says he doesn’t understand when MJ is his woman /wife.

Ale replies
“Pero resulto que esa mujere es mi mujere .“ “But it turned out that this woman is my wife!”

Then Bruno keeps yelling “Que te conto” at Ale.

Fernando tells the hotel to cancel the police and then tries to calm Bruno, and says that Alejandro is right. You married MJ using Alejandro’s name.

Bruno tells Fernando that both he and Alejandro are crazy and are making up crazy things.

Paula and MJ are crying about Papa not having any money, he is old, and sick.

Ale knocks and Paula lets him in. He says get your stuff and lets get out of here. MJ says no. Paula says to tell him the truth. Ale grabs the letter and reads it. Alejandro tells them that the reason he is there is that their Papa called him to get them.

Fernando tells Alejandro that Bruno says they are loco.

Ezequiel and Filipe are talking in the kitchen. I think she said something witty but couldn’t quite catch it.

Ale and MJ walk to the taxi.

Victoria is on the phone explaining to her publisher ( I think ) that she has family problems right now and needs time. She hangs up telling Felipe that she cannot concentrate on her book. Victoria cannot believe that Ale is accusing his brother Bruno of being an assassin. Felipe interjects “half-brother”. Victoria goes on saying Bruno is a lot of things, resentful, self-centered, neurotic yes, but an assassin no.

Rachel and Maura (?) are talking about Ale and I was not interested. Please feel free to fill in.

Roberto comes in while Victoria are having a meal. I have no idea what time of day it is supposed to be. Something about money. Roberto leaves and Victoria says “pachanga, pachanga” which is a rowdy celebration.

Alejandro is driving and MJ is riding shot gun, Fernando and Paula are in the back. They are looking pretty tired. MJ is worried what they are going to tell the family about her papa. Ale says they will say her Papa stayed with a relative. Ale says Bruno has been warned. Paula brings up that their Papa is a threat to Bruno.

Pedro is walking up a hill wiping sweat off his face. He finds his friends place is for rent. Pedro asks Berta about it and I think he could pay his rent. Pedro goes home and picks up the Bride and Groom that go on a wedding cake and Pedro is muy triste. Pedro cries.

Alejandro pulls the car into the driveway.

Felipe hurries to Victoria to tell her the Ale is home. “Alone?” ask Victoria. “No, with MJ, her sister and Fernando.

They all come together in the entry where Victoria says “oh you found her”. MJ says good evening. Victoria says good evening back and asks about her father. Ale answers and says he stayed in the city because he was not feeling good and some more BS.

Felipe notices the blood on Ale’s shirt and thinks he must have stumbled. I didn’t get the rest of it.

They go upstairs. Ale tells EZ that he will be having dinner in his room.

Paula is talking it up again to MJ who is thinking that Victoria is not buying their story. MJ is tired and wants to go to bed. I count them removing 8 pillows and there were still pillows on the bed.

EZ knocks and tells MJ that Alejandro would like her to accompany him for dinner. Paula accepts for her and helps her brush her hair.

Victoria wants the truth from Fernando. Fernando tells her that supposedly Bruno was going to denounce MJ’s Papa for trafficking drugs, but the girls deny that he did that. Victoria goes off on what kind of people Alejandro is getting mixed up with. She then asks what has Bruno got to do with them?

Fernando replies that MJ says that Bruno is responsible for the false wedding, but Bruno denies it. Victoria asks what Fernando thinks. He thinks it is possible. Alejandro is going to continue the investigation. Victoria cries and Fernando comforts. She berates herself. Fernando tells her she is a magnificent mother, and Victoria says he knows nothing of her. Music plays…..

Alejandro has a conversation with Victoria. She really doesn’t want those girls in the house with a drug trafficking father. Ale defends them and she thinks he should take Bruno’s side. Ale leaves. Victoria is so Queen of de Nile.

MJ comes to Ale’s room. EZ offers wine, but MJ wants water.

Ale comes in and asks her to sit. They both look really tired.
MJ says no, she wants to keep it brief. Ale laughs and says whether it is brief or not depends on her. Ale offers her a glass wine. She says no. He says something about tomorrow.

MJ comes over to the table and says she is worried about her father. Alejandro understands and will have the police look for him. MJ says nooo that Bruno will denounce him. Ale tries to assure her but asks MJ what she is thinking. MJ is ready to panic. Bruno told her this same night that he would have her father in jail, and then out of nowhere MJ says look for him so he can get back to entertaining with Maura. Then Ale asks why he would have a pretext to have her with him. Is she bothered that he has been with another? Has she been with another? No she says, except Bruno he says. NO she says. I may have messed that up.

MJ says the person you talk about being a drug trafficker is her father , and he means everything to her, she loves him.

Do you notice what full lips Alejandro has?

Ale says your father is a good person and he brings her back to the table.

He pours her WINE.

MJ says thank you and sips.

He walks her to the door they are holding hands. Alejandro opens the door but blocks her exit with his arm. He tells her he is falling in love. MJ says no don’t tell me. Alejandro says it is the truth. I think he tries to tell her that she is different from others? Please fill in here, I couldn’t pick up all the conversation.

EZ interrupts, and they leave Ale’s room and go to MJ’s.

Ale does not let her turn on the light.

Ale puts his hands in his pockets and starts talking about the this house that his father built. That his father wanted to fill it with children, but his mother died while giving him life. MJ says she is sorry. As a child Ale says, he was pretty happy thanks to Victoria. All is problems were with Bruno. Bruno could never accept the marriage of his mother, and Bruno took it out on him, but at the time it was not important. You can tell Ale is digging deep he sits on the floor holding his head. He talks some more, then tells MJ that after the car accident he finds himself married and meets her.

They both have tears.

MJ says she is not special, not elegant or rich. Ale says that is not what is important. It is what is in your head and your heart and he places his hand first on her head and then on her heart.

Alejandro wants to know how she feels about him. The truth, please the truth he asks. MJ starts to say she is afraid love, afraid of falling in love with him. Ale says there's no fear in love, love is beautiful.

They kiss. She caresses his neck. They pull back. He smiles I think he winks, she smiles they kiss some more. Ale takes off his shirt. MJ stands up. Ale nibbles her back, her neck and unties her top. Her top comes off. They smile. MJ nibbles his neck. I don’t think this needs translating. Ale pulls her towards the bed. He is unbuckling his belt. They are both smiling again. Another kiss. I think they made a decision. He is kissing her fingers! I want that man! OMG…… Her bra comes off. They are in bed. This is muy caliente. I don’t know if I am allowed to write this… OMG…..I think the earth just moved.

Good grief. I'm barely awake, sipping my morning coffee, have to get to work and yowsa! you hit me with this! Dipity. Hope I'll get a chance to watch it at lunchtime today. If my tape didn't record, I'll kill myself.

And yes, I've noticed Wm Levy's full, sensuous lips. They make him hard to understand, dialogue-wise, but easy to comprehend, romance-wise. No problem!

Thanks for warming up my morning. The back library where the computer is is "muy frio" but I think the heat just came on.

Thanks for the recap PB. You got quite an episode - from making war to making love.

I too have noticed WL's lips. They are one of his many attributes I continue to enjoy.

Judy if your tape didn't record, let us know. We enjoy you too much to allow a technical difficult to take you away ;).

OMG! Did William Levy just wink at ME? Is he seducing me and leading me to bed? Cause that's what it looked like to me! Lol! The director knows his audience well and totally shot this scene so that the ladies at home felt like they were in it.

By the way, the American audience was cheated. The Mexican version that I saw on YouTube this past weekend (it was the last epi I watched, I swear!) had a longer love scene. You probably noticed last night that the music in the love scene was choppy. That's because they edited. In the full version, there were a lot more views of bodies and legs writhing together, and when MJ reached down Alex's back towards the goods (Alex's tight buns) you saw her get there! In the version last night it just gets implied and then they jump away. Why o why is American tv more prudish about sex than Mexican tv?

I still loved seeing that scene again though. ;) Even if bits of it were taken out. A fantatsic episode.

Yes, thanks for the recap, Dipity. You sure got l-u-c-k-y. :)

I'd better start at the beginning, or I'll never get back to it. My brother has slyly begun watching SORTI every night with me now, by the way. The sneak.

We enjoyed the crap out of the Thrilla In Manilla. Hold still, Bruno, so I can drill your face with my fist... *POW!* My brother really cracked up when, after the one-sided fight was over, Alex got one last hard shove that about caved poor Bruno's chest in. Brother was like, "Yeah! That how you do it. That's what I'm talking about--holla!" LOL

Bruno disappeared with a quickness, didn't he? I have to admit I am quite concerned, because we really don't know what he's going to do next, and in his state of mind now it could be something horrific.

That was an interesting picture everyone made in the car on the way back to the house. Seeing Nando and Paula riding side by side intrigued me. If she were a little older and more mature, maybe... who knows?

OMG the Denial was THICK last night, so thick in fact, I'm not even going to go there. It's going to absolutely kill Vicky when she finally has to face facts about Bruno... :(

I felt even worse for Papi Pedro than I did last night. He must have REALLY loved his girls' mother. Soooooo sad.

Alex also has eyelashes a mile long. Yum-nummy.

And now for When The Earth Moved:

What mah-velous sex. They kept the sweetness of it (with it being MJ's first time) and yet made it smoldering hot at the same time. Their facial expressions put kinks in my toes--I kid you not. Brother was wanting to snatch Levy out of there and take his place LOL! Jackie is Da Woman to be able to keep up with Levy like that. We were pissed, though when the unthinkable happened--the music skipped, and the part where they became ONE was EDITED OUT. Doh! It was only 3 seconds, maybe, and nothing terribly revealing, but very sensual with their legs entwined. Makes no sense to me why such an important transition that was clearly NOT p.o.r.n would be cut.

So. I found an uncut version and am attaching it to my name for anyone who wants to check it out. Just click. (It's on YouTube, so I don't know how long it will be available.) It also shows many scenes upcoming for tonight and Friday, so watch all the way to the end. (Honestly, if Univision cut that tiny scrap out last night, there is no hope for Friday's fun--that stuff will not get past the sensor, no way, no how. Argh.)

You probably won't believe me, but I actually think what happened BEFORE the sex was the most profound thing of all. Alex's heartache was laid more bare than it ever has been, and it was painful. He looks like he has it all, but truthfully he has nothing, not his siblings, not his birthmom, not his father, no true companionship (to Maura he is sex, prestige, and money only). If not for Vicky, he would have no one at all. Tragic.

Loved the chemistry, the wink, and the slow, fun stroll to the bed. It's nice to see that what comes before sex can be just as enjoyable as the deal itself.

:)

Awesome Dipity! You got a great episode and you did it justice.

Punching Bruno in the mouth was excellent! Finally got back at him for all the strife he caused Alex when they were young.

Hey MJ and Paula--your dad is a big boy, he'll figure it out.

Victoria--Queen of Denial indeed.

Fernando--I thought Alex didn't want his mom to know what was going on. So Fer opens his big mouth as he looks at her with those crazy eyes. (His eyes are a little strange if you ask me.)

When Zeke popped in right before they were getting busy start;ed me to death! I was watching and then pop there he was. What great timing he has.

Thanks for attaching the link to your name Stephe. I "forced" myself to watch the scene again. ;) The edits were small, but like you siad, they were significant. It just flows better than what they showed on American tv last night, and I can't understand why they edited it.

Back to the rest of the episode- I didn't catch everything that Zeke and Filipa said in the kitchen. The gist of it was that Zeke said that all the other employees were gossiping about what was going on with Mrs. Alex and Alex, and he wanted to know what they should say about what's going on. And Felipa basically said, I'm not gossiping, are you? I don't know about anything strange going on, do you? In other words, our job is to keep our mouths shut, to make the other employees believe all is fine, and to put an end to the gossip. She said something sassy and funny that got Zeke's attention before she left him. I didn't get what it was. She was also great in this episode as she listened to Viki, did not outright say that she thought everything Alex and MJ said about Bruno was true, but sent a few zingers Viki's way that implied that Viki was being kind of blind. I really like her.

Fernando needs to get a spine and 1)quit telling Viki Alex's business, and 2)tell Viki how he feels about her or move on.

Paula actually served a purpose by forcing MJ to tell Alex the whole truth. She was redeemed in this episode. I will wait a bit longer to pass judgement on her. It will be interesting to see what choices she makes when her interests come in conflict with her sister's. So far what she has wanted (to stay at the Lombardo casa with MJ as Alex's wife) also benefits MJ.

Roberto came looking for Alex so that he could get some more money. That's when Viki acused him of using up his own money to party with his friends all the time (reveton). She really gave him a toung lashing about being a good for nothing that refuses to work, used up all his own money, and is now taking advantage of Alex's generosity. When he left, Filipa asked Viki whether she thought he was gay because of his fine figure, how nicely he dresses, etc. Lol! Did I already say how much I like Filipa! Viki doesn't think he swings that way, just that he's a lazy good-for-nothing. Wouldn't it be interesting if Filipa was right?...

Oh, and the cover story is that one of their relatives got really sick all of a sudden, they couldn't find Alex in time to tell him, they needed to leave immediately to see the relative, Bruno was there and offered to take them. Now, their Papa has stayed with the sick relative to care for him/her. That's their story and they're going to stick to it. Well, at least until Fernando opens his big mouth and tells everyone the real story like a tattle tale. "Bruno took them to a hotel in DF, and then Alex beat him up..." Thanks Fernando. You're a real friend.

-Vivi in DC

Bravo! All hail Alejandro, el conquistador!
I presume the marriage is now officially consumated.
I hope Fernando and Victoria soon have their moment as well.

Yeah Stephe they edited the american version i was so disappointed and like someone said it was about three seconds worth too. So tonight and most definitely Friday's episodes will probably be edited too. What a shame. As for me William Levy is the best looking man on earth DAMN. Damn the FCC it was totally not necessary to edit this episode. They must have got scared because they started calling the novela pornilegio on youtube. I'm sorry that little boy singing was making my ears bleed. I rather listen to Paula gripe an whole episode than ever listen to that kid attempt to sing again. Two words for Victoria and Fernando Shut. Up. Fernando what b.s. Victoria an marvelous mother please. Victoria you rather have an neurotic attempted murderer in the house your son than the daughters of an possible drug dealer? Are you for real? I thought you told Raquel the other night that the house belongs to Alex. So if you don't want to live with MJ and Paula under the same roof. You get out and take your two despicable demon spawns with you.

I watched Enda before last night episode which is worse everyone opinion please. Carlota flashing a priest her breast in church or Erick pimp daddy in first red then light blue briefs. I already have bad eyesight. Alex also told Victoria he does not want Bruno in the house ever again.

Poor Alex he really does not have anyone to turn to not even an supposedly best friend Fernando gives him support. I still don't believe MJ heard anything Alex was talking about with Maura at the party she was to far away. When see saw them together after what Bruno told her about Alex and his women that's why she went with Bruno. Alex i think is tired of the Maura's he been with. She does have money and social status like him. She just as shallow as Raquel and that's why he didn't ask her to marry him. Carla Estrada is doing an wonderful job of this version. Just exclude all scenes of pimp daddy Erick in his briefs. Tone donwn the decor in Lombardo house and Maura's house. It's all good.

Connie: Zeke did sort of do an "I Dream of Jeannie" move, didn't he? LOL

Any time, Vivi. If it is within my power, I will always hook my CarayMates up. (I've already scouted out and saved Friday's fun uncut for linking, I just hope it doesn't disappear on me before then) Thanks for helping with the Zeke/Felipa scene. I like those two together, for some reason. They seem quite mischievous. Ha--Roberto may or may not swing that way... heck, he and Raquel are NOT hooking up, so...?

Yep, marriage is now consumated, so no easy annulment. Goody!

I forgot about that kid singing! How awful was that? I had to hit mute and of course missed any dialogue.

I'm baaack. I really needed a 'novela break, what with MEPS and YSBLF ending within a week of each other after 6+ months of carrying both telenovelas at the same time. I usually don't watch two at a time because it's such a time commitment.

I missed all y'all (that's 'Southern' for ustedes) here at CarayCaray, the snark, the funny comments, and I started watching a couple nights ago. I hope the VCR recorded last night. I didn't get Tuesday's because the tape itself bit the dust. I look forward to (hopefully) getting hooked on this one.

Dipity- thank you for the recap, and your hysterical editorial asides (e.g., I don’t think this needs translating.) which are an art form -- on the same level as great snark. Well done!

BTW, I think WL looks much better without his shirt than FC. ~oh! the blasphemy!~ I may be old, but I'm not blind. And JB looks downright anorexic.

Oh, and that guy in his undies ... Erik? ... reminded me of diaper guy in the jungle on FELS. NOT a good mental image ... at all.

That is diaper guy!

Stephe - thank you for the link; I just now watched it. Here's hoping that the new VCR cassette tape did not melt down when that recorded. Oh, be still, my heart. Carla Estrada knows how to film love scenes, doesn't she?!

Does WL always wear a rosary around his neck, or is that just an Alej thing, or some literary symbolism for that scene?

It's an Alex thing, as far as I can tell.

Good to see you again, doris.

PB, thank you for the super recap of very hot episode.

Question: If we had to suffer through two episodes of Erik in his unmentionables why don't we get to see WL in his?????

I cannot believe this TN does not have a priest!

rsk

Great job DPD. You certainly captured the mood. As for the music, I loved that singing. Very authentic. As for the love scene music, I'm certain that was Yanni. This show is definitely bochornosa. And what a treat to see the galan actually thinking.

Carlos

rsk- I didn't even need to see WL in his skivvies. Just the hint of them as he unbuckled his pants was enough to make me fan myself and turn on the air conditioner.

-Vivi in DC

Yeah, we've had discussion about Jackie's weight (how much she's lost), and although "anorexic" was the first thing to come to a lot of people's minds, those of us who know/have known anorexics know that they are absolutely skeletal. Not skinny, or way too thin like Jackie, but skin and bones skeletal.

Her skin was smooth and gorgeous without one bone poking through her back. Her bare shoulders and hips did not look like joints in their sockets. If that had been the case, even with Levy doing his thing I would have been turned off pretty quickly and tuned out.

Stephe, you're an angel for making that scene available to us! I was just thinking that I was an idiot for not recording last night. ITA, JB is just thin, like most actresses in the US.

Well, got to go watch that scene again. Carla knows how to reel us in...
jb

This is not a spoiler but I read somewhere that JB had to lose weight for this role and it had nothing to do with WL carrying up her up the stairs or on the beach. If I remember correctly, there is going to be a kink in the storyline but I didn't read any further. I didn't want to spoil the fun for myself. But it did ease my mind that JB was not ill.

Vivi in DC, they shouldn't tease us so!

Carlos, I thought Il Divo sang all of the musica.

rsk

Whoa! That episode and your recap, Seren PB, were outstanding. And thank you, thank you, Stephe, for the Mexican version. Just the US version had me all agog, but the Mexican one was the really breathless and more beautiful one. Mercy. Those two--along with great direction-- did a fantastic love scene.

I loved MEPS, but I have to say, this was by far the better TN "congress" and these age-appropriate actors were perfect in it.

I'm dreading the eventual TN formulaic boy-loses-girl part of the show. I just want these two to stay together and have scenes like that one every day...

rsk, you are of course right. We ha a sort of love scene in un Gancho last night and that was probably where I heard Yanni.

Carlos

You're welcome, mates! Any time. We've all got each other's back on this blog. :D

Ms. Stephe...I'm forever beholden to you. My tv is so old and murky, not only did your link give me the uncut version but EVERYTHING was much clearer. Loved those mischievous smiles they were giving each other. Ay yi yi...perfect in every way. MEPS...whazzat? Pales in comparison...already.

OT: Carlos, I did appreciate that shower pic of Conni and Beto the other day. LOL Didn't you post that? Good show. :)

Remember, JudyB, the week isn't over yet. Bwahahahaha.

I hope your day is going well.

It IS now, amiga. Actually it's been a great day. Taught a really fun aerobics class this a.m. and now I'm going to make a couple of apple crisps for some buddies who are celebrating birthdays (healthier than cake, right?)

Greetins to your parents and prayers for good health, and "hi" to your brother. Is he learning Spanish too?

I have a new Telenovio. WL.

I never would have thought after my affair with Don Fernando in LFMB that this would happen. Yes, I love FC in everything but, Jaime Camil has held a special place in my heart as my first telenovio, and has stayed on top even though I was disappointed with his movies and Tontas.

But, now I have WL or at least Alejandro.

If anyone is not watching this novela in Viewerville, they are misssing something absolutely wonderful.

I have to add that Jacqueline Bracamontes is doing a great job also. MJ has such depth and is so far away from being Candy.

These 2 got the chemisty right, and I mean very right.

Who would have known?

dpd

I really struggled doing this one. I don't know why. I really wanted to get the conversation between MJ and Alejandro correct, and then I had trouble with formatting again and kept having to redo the paragraphs.

I don't know if I was Blurry eyed or if my mind was having technical problems due to over heating in the bedroom.

dpd

This is my first post about Sortilegio. Does anyone else find it boring or is it just me? I thought last night seemed like the end. Maybe it will pick up. I've watched 7 or 8 TNs and this is the first that didn't engage me. The recapping is great though; the blog is definitely better than the TN.

Great recap, dpd! Very funny, and excellent title.

I think Pedro went to visit his compadre (the friend with whom he was selling the bogus or stolen statues). The guy wasn't there (although his wife was), so Pedro is worried that maybe something bad happened to his compadre. I think he's staying at that house.

As for the blood on Alex's shirt, after he first denied everything, I think he then yelled at Victoria that he had a big fight with Bruno, are you satisfied? But his tone was sarcastic, so she probably didn't believe him.

When Alex asked MJ to tell him the the truth, as to whether she loved him, she said she was afraid. She added she was afraid of falling in love with him. He said that there's no fear in love, love is beautiful (hermoso), and then they started kissing. I don't think she ever came right out and said I love you (although HE did).

In the conversation between Ezekiel and Felipa, she ended by saying she can't lie, but you're a good fibber, no? She used the word embustero, which means fibber, or liar. It was said in a light, joking tone, though.

JudyB, Thank you. I am glad I could help cut your heating bill this morning.
I do hope you have a tape....

Karen - Thank you!

Vivi in DC- I couldn't help but watch this scene over, and over......

Steph- Your are welcome.

"You sure got l-u-c-k-y. :)" That or tortured..... LOL

I am so glad FIL got tired at went to bed before I got to this scene. I would have been sooo embarassed.

You described so well when the earth moved!

ITG the baring of the soul, the tears was all truly moving, and made for great forplay. Whew!

dpd

Connie - Thank you!

I think Fernando eyes are full of longing but trying to hold back.

I did not quite pick out why Zeke popped in.

Good luck with tonights show. Perhaps if you take a cold shower first it might help. :)

dpd

JudyB: No, Middle Bro is not learning Spanish *sigh* But he is living it vicariously through us, and really liking it. We're almost 70 days out from Mom's transplant, with NO complications, and she's 72 years young today. :)

Dipity: It's like that, sometimes, isn't it? But you did your best, you did well, and that's all we can ever ask of you.

Beth: The only reason I'm not bored is that the plot moves well compared to others--missing people are found within a day or two, investigating secrets doesn't take months, the presumed dead don't take years to show back up, etc. It's been a pretty speedy trip. But sometimes a plot just can't engage everyone, and I applaud you for sharing your view. There are other people who have moseyed away from SORTI, so you're not alone! Glad you commented. :)

I wish MJ would stop saying "tengo miedo" because for me it ruins the mood...

...because it makes me think of that dream scene in Tontas where Jackie B. was the French resistance maiden tied to the tree, and Jaime Camil was the fraidy-cat German or whatever whimpering "tengo mieeeeedo!" and running away from conquering hero Valentino Lanus. Cracks me up.

May have to watch the uncut scene when I get home; I don't dare at work even on lunch break. My DVR cut off right when they were heading to the bed! No fair! I assume they'll repeat the scene tonight, though.

Wow that love scene at the end was smoking. It seemed though that parts may have been edited out. At first, I was wondering if Alex was just playing MJ but it think he was sincere when he told her that he's falling for her. Me thinks Bruno won't be happy when he finds out that the "marriage" has now been consumated. I love this show so far.

Vivi in DC - Thank you filling in the dialogs. Felipe is great!

I totally missed the cover story as to why they left the party suddenly.

"Thanks Fernando. You're a real friend." ITA

dpd

Thanks, serendipity. Wow. That was a very satisfyilng episodes in many ways. First, it was a pleasure to see Al let Fernando haul him off Bruno for a minute , and then..WHAM..sucker punch. Go , Wild Bill. That was enjoyable. It reminded me of Luis's sudden punch to Diego's giggling face as he teased Luis about someone else impregnated his wife. BAM Even hHub enjoyed that punch. I am liking Wild Bill more and more; however, my heart still belongs to TBLMOE, Big Ed Yanez, and Marcelo Cordoba [Robbbeeerrttooo]. I am very loyal. I was surprised that the episode ended with MJ's first bunny hop. Al had me at that shoulder bite, and I haven't seen winking since high school. Cute. Now we know why MJ was wearing that wraparound blouse...the slow untying of that bow was muy sexy. I think that in addition to Carla Estrada, we have to send out a BIG thank you to Monica Miguel for that nice, slow love scene. Monica is a master at shooting love scenes. Remember Alborada ? We only got 3 bunny hops between Luis and Hippolita , but they were good ones. I am hooked on this novela. As for Fernando [Gabriel Soto], I think the problem is one we discussed during Querida Enemiga. Gabriel has just one facial expression resulting in our nickname for him ''Alonslo.'' I am not seeing the seething passion. I'm going to buy a pack of cigarettes for tonight...and I don't even smoke.

p.s. Congress is now officially in session !

PB, ITA with you and getting a new telenovio. I liked WL in Cuicado but as Alex... I'm just speechless. I like the rouge/rake part of him like last night when he was asking MJ what she felt about him and she started saying he was a good man. His response was that's not important to me, do you love me? I think I may have fainted then.

Stephe - thanks for the link. I'll have to watch it where its safe to swoon.

Thanks for the addition info Vivi and Hombre.

They must have got scared because they started calling the novela pornilegio on youtube.

I did not know that.

dpd

Oh and Steph, thank for the link. I was going to download it but You tube updated their site and the youtube downloader is not working again. They said to check back tomorrow.

http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/

Karen, you're cracking me up. I'm sitting here at the computer laughing out loud. Yes, don't watch youtube until it' safe to swoon.

One other part of the foreplay dialogue that was interesting was Alex said no one knows how long love can last, a few days, a few months, or for all life long.

Maria José must have decided right then he was a "lifer" or maybe she just couldn't resist those lips, those shoulders, that torso, that slow unbuckling of the belt, that.....oh my, back to youtube!!!!

Anonymous 9:25:00

Bruno in the house ever again.

I missed that too...

Thank you!

Anonymous 9:34:00

ITA - Carla Estrada is doing an wonderful job of this version. Just exclude all scenes of pimp daddy Erick in his briefs.

Stephe,

Yep, marriage is now consumated, so no easy annulment. Goody!

I guess the both went out on a limb. The legal papers haven't been signed and now no annulment.

susanlynn, you're playing my tune. Levy has my championship belt right now, but I will never stop hankering for Big Eduardo. I don't know any man who can stand naked next to Capricho the beautiful wonder stallion and NOT be intimidated, but EY himself. I also have a soft spot for Rulli. That smile...

Congress in session ROFL!

Hi, Karen.:)

"I don't know if I was Blurry eyed or if my mind was having technical problems due to over heating in the bedroom."

Don't worry about it. I'm grateful to all the recappers because I don't have the skill to do it, so I don't complain. :-D
Cold shower beforehand might help, but taking one afterwards would kill the ...(ahem) ... afterglow.
Oh, who cares?!! Swooony recaps just add to the fun. :o)

Oh, Julia. Doh! Your DVR has cruel timing.

I have been on this blog all morning. I need to get control of myself... I'm going to take a nap while the gettin's good. Laters!

Doris - Thanks for joining us, and you are welcome.

I hope you can get caught up some how....

One night was enough for most of us to get hooked.

I never can watch more than one telenovela, but I am sure ecstatic I got this one. :)

ITA -
"! the blasphemy!~ I may be old, but I'm not blind."

dpd

rsk,

Question: If we had to suffer through two episodes of Erik in his unmentionables why don't we get to see WL in his?????

I thought we saw all of Alejandro....

Is my mind imagining things.... Am I having trouble separating realty from fact? OMG...... Do I have to recheck the video?

dpd

Carlos,

Thank you!

And Thank you for the new vocabulary word and reminding me that this is a study group.

I love the music, the scenes, our Galan.....

I hope you are getting as much out of it as I am. ;)

dpd

HGR - Thank you.

"but the Mexican one was the really breathless and more beautiful one.

Wasn't this moment truly beautiful, and magical?

dpd

William has had me hooked since his first novela Olivardte Jamas walking around shirtless and form fitting blue jeans. While he couldn't act worth a darn i still was hooked. I'm glad since Cuidado a lot of people have seen William's growth and improvement as an actor. Carla Estrada was falling over herself to give this role to William. I believe the ratings in Mexico and over here have justified her selection of William. It just goes to show you that if you have the right producer, director and writers how good an show can turn out. Also the right actors too. Beth the orignal version is good. I saw it as an teenager. Tu o Nadie with Andres Garcia as Antonio Lombardo that William role changed to Alejandro Lombardo, Lucia Mendes as Raquel changed MJ that Jackie B. role and Salvador Pineda as Max changed to Bruno played by David Zepeda. It minus the awesome scene we saw last between MJ and Alex but growing up it was one of my all time favorite novelas. Yes Stephe they were starting to call this pornilegio on youtube i think it's because of Friday's episode. Which i suspect will be edited too like last night's episodes. When first read the comment on the page i saw the episode i lol too funny. Alex did tell Victoria in denial he doesn't want Bruno in his house anymore.

Susanlynn, you are one funny lady, I was LOL about Congress offically being session, and what a session it was.

I think we finally saw a glimpse of Vicki's thinking about the terrible twins. She feels guilty! She should have moved past that long ago or told them the truth. But then they would hated her as well as their half-brother. What a mess she has made of their lives.

rsk

Beth, glad you like the blog, and thank you for commenting.

Last night would have made a good ending... but I for one am glad we are still in the beginning!

dpd

Hombre, Thank you! Glad you like the title.

Thank you also for filling in the gaps.

I do think that MJ said she loved Alejandro. I replayed that over and over. Now I guess I will have to play it again. Oh darn, another shower. :)

dpd

If I get to recap the love scene tonight I will indeed need to take a cold shower! What a way to start an episode I say. I wasn't too excited about this Novela when it started but I'm starting to like it. Ilike WL in this much better than Cuidado.

Serendipidtypb yes he told Victoria he didn't want Bruno in the house ever again. I don't know if it's Carla or the set fashion designer but what is the fascination with the 70"s to 80"s decor and why does Erick still dress like an unemployed pimp? I MJ said she was afraid to fall in love with him but she may already have. She needs to stop saying tengo miedo because i am also reminded of her role playing Candy in Tontas. If they told her to lose weight to take on this role i want to know why because she looks the same tome as she did in Tontas. Now that the show has ended in Mexico i really hope she is eating a lot.

Susanlynn - Thank you!

If tonight needs a cigarette......
(I quit 20 years ago, Thank God!)
I am wasting a lot of cold water in the shower. :)

"p.s. Congress is now officially in session !" Good one! LOL.

Karen - You are welcome. I did not see Cuicado. Do I need to?

So what show was it that made EY so beloved?

dpd

dpd, Cuidado had some good weeks, a few super sizzling scenes, two of the most adorable children ever seen on television, and several months of agonizing and unbelievably stupid time-wasting. William Levy was handsome (how could he not be?) but his character was a total moron and spent a lot of time crying. Sortilegio is way better.

Speaking of Cuidado...did you notice, Julia, that they're using those same two striped orange chairs from JuanMiguel's study in Vicky's office (or somewhere)? Strange to see them reappear.

I hadn't noticed. I wonder if the funky green chair from Marichuy's bedroom is somewhere in the Rainbow Manse. It would fit right in.

Does anyone else feel our hero has taken a less than honorable action to win the battle he's in with Bruto?

I have to admit until last night, this TN was irritating me, I was half watching.

I was annoyed that Alex was like a horn dog, always trying to get in MJ's pants, always way too close to her even when he thought she was guilty, or innocent, his wife or not. I hate men who when you are trying to talk all they do is keep trying to make out. Not interested in what you have to say...guess it's just me.
BUT last night was HOT !

Vicky...ugh I want to yell at her that she is an idiot! I would tell her if she mentions I should excuse Bruno ONE MORE TIME she could pack her bags too!!!!!
Along with Raquel and hubbie.

How she can look herself in the mirror knowing the freeloaders she protects, is beyond me.

Fernando is a nitwit for liking her. She was a good stepmom to Alex , other than that...nothing.

I wonder how old Paula is? She is like nails on a chalkboard

Now this TN is worth just looking at Wm Levy with his shirt off,TV on mute. I wasn't a fan at first..BUT he now has my full attention. He knows how to seduce a camera lense! ...sorry FC, you should have shown more skin on MEPS!

For any of you inclined to watch the love scene again, the editing of the music is beautifully done.

Soft instrumental music with a descending chord exactly matches the slow loosening and fluttering of the tie of Maria José's blouse.

Truly a beautiful example of music enhancing the visual and there's nothing "pornolegio" about it. Carla Estrada is really talented and effective in how she stages her scenes.

I'm late to the Caray Caray party today but Dipity, one of your phrases said it all... "The earth moved",...wow, wow, wow. No other words needed.

Neighbor Doris, as you know, I've missed you, glad you're back. This TN is definitely worth your time..your hubby will be busy trying to figure out what is wrong with the Titans. You'll have plenty of time for the Sortilego, no problemo.

Has everyone turned on their TVs today, I think a lot of TVs melted last night!!

Thanks to all for the the best episode, best recap and best comments ever. Have only one worry, can we take the inevitable breakup.......no I can't, honestly, I CAN"T.

Sandy in TN

Susanlynn, I have to agree, last night provided us with a Marlboro moment. That was definitely a convincing coupling. I would love to have Mary Jo come stay with us a while here in Texas. We have our ways to fatten skinny girls up. First some chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, butterbeans, and yeast rolls. Then a slice of my profa's flan, or perhaps dewberry cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream. When we're done, Alex will have his work cut out for him toting her up the stairs.

My hero is still Roberto. I love the lifestyle he's carved out for himself. He gives a certain dignity to sloth. Earlier when he announced to Pau with such apparent pride and self-satisfaction, "Yo no trabajo," he won me over. I just don't understand why he is not more into Raquel. She has an appealing, simmering coldness that I find attractive and challenging.

I say, so far, so good, for Sortilegio. More please.

Carlos

I first saw EY in Destilando Amor and it was love at first sight. Then he was in Fuego en la Sangre (terrible TN) but we got to see his naked backside and he took a lot of baths and went swimming. How can you not love his smile. Can't wait to see him in Corazon Salvaje.

Carlos,

"She has an appealing, simmering coldness that I find attractive and challenging." I realize that your comment is a little facetious, but I'm sure you saw something redeeming in her as I did....hope she can turn her obvious pain into good!

Why did you post that menu when we are all starving for dinner?

Sandy in TN

Ok guys, let's keep this one going!

You know you are too thin/skinny:

1. If you turn sideways and stick out your tongue and people think you are a zipper.
2. If nobody can see you when you stand behind a pole.
3. If you come out of a revolving door and a stiff wind knocks you down (true story, really happened, totally humiliating)
4. Your friends call you Ana, Ana Rexia.

Actually Carla asked JB to gain weight for this role, she doesnt look as skinny as the novela goes on and she looks really beautiful by the end of this. Thanks for the wonderful recap and yes these two have chemistry up the wazoo, and I completely fell in love with WL in the Alex role he has grown alot as an actor and so has JB as a matter of fact.

rsk and everyone else who may think that I must be senile, after you pointed out that the love scene music was Il Divo, I watched thelink that Stephe so graciously provided and sure enough it was Il Divo with the sow's theme in that scene. When I got home I replayed the recording off the TV from last night, and sure enough, it was Yanni playing behind the same scene. A similar thing happened in un Gancho a while back with different versions of YMCA, on You Tube, just instrumental and on TV, the Village People behind the strip dance done by Mauricio. Hmmm.

Carlos

Okay Carlos, you have confirmed it. They are trying to make us crazy or do they think we don't notice such things?

OT - did you get plenty of rain in the last 24 hours?

rsk

Heading out for a salad at Panera with tormented memories of your proposed dinner, Carlos. Will you adopt me....please?

Alas, Roberto is not into Raquel, methinks, for the reason the canny Vicky sidekick mentioned. He's gay.

No, not a spoiler. But I think those were the indications. She claims he's a lousy lover, he calls her frigid. But clearly these two are not a love match.

rsk, yes, we got a bunch and even now there's a light drizzle here and it's cooled off considerably. The frogs are lifting their voices to heaven in grateful praise. Everything has been so nice and green for the last few weeks. It's a great afternoon for porch-sitting and a little Bourbon and branch.

Carlos

I'm not really watching this novela but I lurked today impressed by the number of replies. I just wanted to add two things:

Jackie B. did lose weight for this novela as it's been told here, so she was never sick. They kept it quiet until the reason was shown on screen so she had to endure gossip and rumors over her health until that. I think this shows how she is always a good sport for anything the producers need.

"Pornilegio" was just a fun name people used as a joke for the novela. It's not usual for Televisa to have as much love scenes but I don't think they were crude at all and they don't get to the point of some Azteca productions.

Jarocha

Sandy, I've seen this actress in a number of shows and she always seems to have a chilly haughtiness that for some (probably perverse) reason, I find appealing. I look (OK, hope) for her ultimately to go over to the good side in this. She seems almost British. I'd love to see her and Gardenia paired in a show sometime. What contrasting styles.

Carlos

Julia - WL was nice to look at in Pasion but,his characture was weak. He has blown me away with this one.

Bonney - "hero has taken a less than honorable action" -Good Point!

I am probably a hopeless romantic and would like to believe that something bigger was going on than just a trophy win. They both kind of looked innocent.

Elle - ITA

"Vicky...ugh I want to yell at her that she is an idiot! I would tell her if she mentions I should excuse Bruno ONE MORE TIME she could pack her bags too!!!!!
Along with Raquel and hubbie."

and ROTFL with "sorry FC, you should have shown more skin on MEPS!

JudyB - AW, now I am going to have to watch again for the musical aspect of it! GEEZ...

Sandy- Thank you!
They are going to break up? No, No, No, No! Telenovela gods- please, I am begging you to hear me!

Connie - I totally forgot I was watching Destilano Amor on You tube. Yes he was hot! I was only in the beginning of DA to where she had the accident.

Carlos - that is crazy with the music. I rewound that so many times with my tv, and then worked with youtube. Now I have to watch both versions again.

dpd

Jarocha- Thanks so much for telling us that. Although my first conclusion about JB's weight was not to think she had an eating disorder, I'm glad to know that it's a fact that it was somethig she was aksed to do for the role. I don't consider it a spoiler.

-Vivi in DC

Okay, Carlos~~~ When can Judyb and I stop by for dinner. Your menu certainly sounded delicious and fattening. It's a good thing that I just had dinner..a veggie burger [love them] and a crunchy salad [cucumbers, cauliflower, and tomatoes]. My mother used to make smoked sausage with milk gravy and mashed potatoes. I don't cook that way. Judyb~~I love Panera's, especially the quiche and coffee. We could meet at the Ohio/PA border. As for the question about Ed Yanez. The first tn I ever saw him in was Destilando Amor , but I saw him before that in some American movies and tv shows. I like big guys with dark hair and a big smile. I married a guy who looks a little like Big Ed/Dean Cain. His name is Big Mike !!! That's why Big Ed has a special place in my collection of telenovios. Connie~~~I've been peeking at Corazon Salvaje on youtube. I can't wait !!! Go Phillies.

'Dipity - it's part of the Telenovela Rules - or any romance story, for that matter - that something separates the protagonists before they get back together, and often once more before the Gran Fin (or Por Fin in some cases).

For 'Dipity again --- you do NOT need to watch CCEA. LOTS of crying. TOO MUCH crying, by too many characters. I couldn't watch, and kept trying to, but 5 minutes of everyone crying goes a loooooong way with me. It was rather lame, IMO.

Sandy in TN - you can take credit for bringing me back to telenovelaland, with your 'search & find' mission. ;o)

Carlos - I know what you mean about Chantel Andere's ice princess demeanor. I've only seen her in this and Amor Real, and in AR she was a similar type character,,,if I remember correctly.

VCR taped just fine and I savored the last ten minutes. That was so well staged, acted and filmed, and better to watch on a TV... Unlike our where-(and-qué)-the-hell-? love scene near the end of MEPS.

I didn't get to see Destilando Amor when it aired--don't remember why. I had the pleasure of getting to know him in FUEGO (but the horror of suffering through that heinous script with my Mighty Joe Juan). Destilando is now airing on Telefutura at 4 in the afternoons, so I think I'm going to spend some time with that, seeing as we have recaps here.

"GAVIOTAAAAAAAAAAA!! AAAAAAAAAAHH!"

Coming in late, but wonderful recap and comments. Thanks, Sdipity and loved your line: "I don't think this needs translating."
Thanks also to Chavala and Kat for the earlier recaps. Kat, we'll take your recaps how/whenever we can get them. Good luck with your stage experience.
Carlos, laughed at "Roberto gives a certain dignity to sloth." He and Chantal do make an intriguing couple.
The setup for the love scene, with Alex baring his heart to MJ was truly sweet and touching. It convinced me (and MJ) that he was sincere and in need of love. (Of course, if she wasn't interested, there's a long line of ladies on this blog to take up the slack.)
La Paloma

Beth, this could have been the end. I don't know if I have the stamina to watch the intrigue that is going to play out - probably Mauro, Btruno and his evil twin sister and heavens know who else. However, I have found that the mute button on my Remote is great. So, when I get bored I watch with subtitles but put on the mute button. Then I can watch in between reading.

Lynne

This show's going nowhere fast. I fear I might not be able to hang on. Destilando Amor reruns are calling. When is Maria Jose going to be unfrumpified? When is Yanez going to appear? Where's the chapel? How come no one prays? Where are the nuns?

One wonders if -- and hopes that -- these close-talking actors have fresh breath.

I hear you there - I have thought the same thing! The love scenes are hot, though, whew! But I also do keep being bothered by MJ's extreme skinniness - I hope we do see a reason for it. Alex expressing his pain was a nice touch - and yes, did pursuade MJ to stop resisting.

Hombre - My eyes were more powerful than my ears. I could hear MJ's whole sentence after you explained it to me.

Thank You!

I think Ezequiel was wearing something that looks more like a Nehru Jacket than a priestly attire.

You guys can rip the youtbe video clips and watch it again and again if you like.

Connie, the anti-lister does an about face and makes a list. Fan freaking tastic. But connie, you know someone is really, really skinny when they turn sideways and disappear. Ha.

We can Beef up Jackie B the right way by putting her on a protein shake, Tuna, Tilapia and peanut butter diet. With 6 meals a day. Put her in weight training program 4 days on one day off. Drink at least a gallon of water. Have her bring that jug everywhere she goes. Then she will turn out alright. We want her beefier but in shape and not skinny-fat. But fit and firm.

hey i can't speak spanish but between watching the show and coming here i getthe jist of the show. is it closed caption in the us? cuz they never show up on my tv for univision only telemudo. i only watch for william and the hot sex scenes cuz maria jose annoys me. i wouldnt watch if werent for will being on.

Anon 8:30.

I have Univision but don't have CCs. I just tough it out, concentrate and try to get as much out of as I can listening to the Spanish. The recaps really, really help. I like MJ because she isn't a raving beauty. She is the girl next door type.

Sandy in TN

I have to agree with Beth. This plot seems rather contrived, even by Telenovela standards. On the other hand, I guess they are trying something kind of new.

Is it just me, or is there no time where Jacqueline Bracamontes isn't crying. She's such a bad actress and I have never been able to buy her as a leading lady. As far as William Levy, maybe it's because I'm a man, but it seems like he really coasts on his looks because he is boring.

Maybe it's because this one doesn't have any eye candy, which is what got me into MEPS (Gardenia, call me!), but I can't stand all these European looking women in Telenovelas.

Maybe Univision should start looking at other places like Colombia, which always seems to have more natural acting and falls prey to cliches less often, and the women are smoking.

Or maybe I just like shows with horsies in them.

Doris, Betty La fea is till going on. They split it into half an hour episodes with Vecinos.

I don't mind the Criollo girls in Telenovelas as long as they look good. I also love the really pretty indigenous looking ones like Gardenia, Babs, Rosario from FELS, Venus, Martina, Marichuy from Cuidado.

Ibarramedia

Dipity: You got the hot and the shock factor down! It was great!

In the scene with Filipa and Eziquiel, from what I remember at the end he insisted they had to tell the servants something, so Filipa said for him to make something up since he was good at it and as he knows, she is really bad at lying.

Paula accepts Alex's dinner "invitation" (more like an order, I suspect) before MJ can decline, because Paula knows MJ will at least try. MJ complains to Paula, but Paula just ignores her and says she will will pick out something "sexy" for MJ to wear.

When Alex comes into the room for their dinner, she tells him she wants to keep things brief; it's clear she wants to leave. He tells her that things being brief or not depend upon her; he's trying to keep things pleasant. He asks if she wants some wine, and she says No. He sits at the table and pours a glass for himself, saying if she keeps answering "No" to everything he says, they will be there until the next day (the "tomorrow" reference). That finally makes her stop trying to leave and start paying (grudging) attention. She rushes over to the table with the excuse that she's just so worried about her father. Alex says they can make a police report, but MJ is worried that Bruno will denouce Pedro as a drug trafficker. Alex disagrees -- he's sure Bruno will keep that as an "ace up his sleeve" so he can maintain his hold over MJ. MJ wants to believe Alex. Then he asks her why she didn't tell him. She says she doesn't know -- she panicked, and then Bruno said if they all didn't leave with him that very night, her father would be in jail by morning. Alex is annoyed, he says he would have been able to do something to stop it. MJ protests that she went to look for him but found him enjoying himself with Maura. Alex says, "So what?" and that Maura made up some pretext about getting back together with him. MJ wants to know if he's going to do that. Alex: "Would that bother you?" MJ: "No, no, of course not! You can do what you like with your life." Alex: "Ah. Well, because it would bother ME if you were to go with another man." MJ: "I don't have any intention of going with anyone." Alex: "With the exception of Bruno." MJ hotly denies this and gets up to leave. Alex chases after her, not believing that she didn't offer Bruno anything in exchange for helping her father. MJ insists the only thing Bruno wanted was to take her and her family far away from there. "And then?" Alex demands. MJ stammers that she would have looked for a job, and she told Bruno that. "But underneath it all he always figured that you would end up giving in," says Alex. When MJ concedes this point, Alex wants to know how going away with Bruno was any kind of a solution. MJ says she was desperate and taking care of things one at a time. Her father might be a lot of things, but he never skimped with his daughters. He was always caring for them, worrying about them, doing whatever he could to provide for them as best he could. Maybe he was too trusting, or got involved with drugs, but he's her father and she loves him a lot. This takes all the fire out of Alex, and he gently steers her back to the table, telling her he believes her and also thinks that Pedro is a good person. As they sit back down at the table, he suggests they would both be better off with a glass of wine, as, in moderation, it helps smooth things, calm things down. MJ nods and thanks him, then takes a sip from her glass.

The After-dinner conversation: As they walk toward the door to his room, Alex reassures MJ they (meaning Alex and MJ) will find Pedro, and if he’s in trouble, they’ll help him. MJ is grateful, then asks Alex why he’s doing all this for her since she’s caused him so many problems he ought to hate her. Alex: “Well, that’s a bit of a long story... It’s a lot of things, but to sum up, I think I’m falling in love.” MJ begs him not to say that to her, but he tells her it’s the truth. “I don’t want to lie to you, Maria Jose,” he adds, “I’ve known a lot of women... but none like you.” MJ says it’s because she’s poor. Alex concedes that might have something to do with it, but adds that he admires how she fights for her family, and the love she has for them. He says that his father was his hero, but he died when Alex was really young. Victoria’s been great with him and he loves her a lot, but he would have liked to have known his real mother. Ever since he can remember, Bruno and Raquel have been jealous of him, to the point it made him angry. He moves in a very different environment to the one MJ knows: His world was all about business, superficiality, doing what benefits one the most -- “A very empty world,” he concludes. Then to suddenly meet someone like MJ and her family... it moves him. MJ shyly brings him back on point, asking him what all that has to do with what he told her, about thinking that he’s falling in love. Alex approaches and takes her face in his hands. “I desperately want to kiss you,” he says. MJ protests that she’s afraid. Alex wants to know what she’s afraid of -- that he will denounce her, as Bruno told her he would? MJ says no, it’s that she doesn’t want to be his for just a short time. Alex tells her that no-one knows how long a relationship will last. “It could be months, years, or a lifetime...” Then his attitude changes. “You’re still interested in Bruno,” he says flatly, but she immediately says she’s not. “And what do you feel for me?” he asks. “Well, you’ve been so good...” she stammers, but that’s not what Alex wants to know. “You know exactly what I mean,” he insists, but Ezikiel chooses this moment to see if Alex needs anything.

Great reading. Are you bilingual?
I was waiting for the last part.
There is a whole lot that goes over my head. I hope I get better with time. Please feel free to do this anytime. I am going to rewatch and use your postings to see if I can "hear" better.

Hi serendiptyb, I'm glad I could help and hope you find them useful. I am what you might call functionally bilingual, doing the translations is good practice getting used to other accents and such. The often bad mic'ing, Foley, and especially the heavy hand on the underscore also present a challenge. (Am I the only one who is already completely sick of the theme song, by the way? I really wish there was a way to turn it off.)

By "the last part" do you mean the part where they are in MJ's room?
