Sortilegio #21, Tuesday, Nov. 3: If you thought Bruno was angry before….

So, Bruno calls his mom a ho and Alex gets upset and grabs him by the shirt. MaryJo tries to get between them. Bruno eventually says that this only makes things worse between them, gets loose, and goes away. Worse? Seriously? Como diablos could things between them get worse?

Vicky lets Hernán and Felipa know that she told Bruno who his Daddy really was. And what's more, she actually feels better for having done it…except that Bruno was looking at her with "asco" (revulsion, disgust). Hernán advises her to get some rest and says that they support her decision. Vicky takes her meds.

When Hernán goes downstairs, Bruno has harsh words with him. Hernán knew all along and Bruno is pissed about it. He refuses to acknowledge Antonio as his father and insists that Sam is his daddy and he hates Antonio. He takes every opportunity to savor the words as he says Antonio seduced his mother, making her a "ramera" and a "golfa" (both basically, ho). After he spews all that crap he goes back upstairs. But he stops on the stairs to shout to the whole house that he curses the woman who bore him ("que me engendró") and who slept with another man. This brings Ezequiel running, well walking really fast anyway, and now Bruno comes back downstairs to unload on him, saying that even the "criado" (servant) knew before he did and that Zeke must have been her "alcahuete" (person who facilitated the affair, pimp, lookout). Zeke has no flippin' clue what Bruno is talking about. Bruno calls them both trash and storms out. Yay! Goody! Change the locks now while you have the chance and tell security not to let him back in por nada! Hernán just tells Zeke that Bruno is having "personal problems" and says that Bruno isn't acting like a demon, he is one!

Still wearing their robes from the Macy's Hot Married People Who Can't Be Bothered With Actual Clothes line, Alex and MaryJo finish their dinner and talk about what just happened. Alex figures that Vicky must have just felt like Bruno needed to know. MaryJo and Alex both suppose that now Bruno is going to break it to Raquel. Oh, yeah, baby, and in the meanest, nastiest way possible. Alex: "Do you realize, we've all got the same blood and there is nothing in common between them and me." MaryJo: "Luckily!" Ha! I like it when my snark is written for me. Alex is worried about Vicky's health and MaryJo agrees with him that they need to give her lots of love and support. They also agree that Bruno is going to be furious now. Alex wants MaryJo to quit taking on responsibility for all the crap that happens in that house…"you see that we had problems long before you showed up!" They give each other a long, soulful hug as Alex tells her to calm down. I predict there will be some calm-down nookie going on soon. Cause nothing chills a person out better than sweet, sweet lovin' on high-thread-count sheets.

At whatever trashy party is going on tonight, Maura and Ulises discuss Raquel. Basically, Maura lets it be known that there's interest in a hook-up. Ulises winks at Raquel from across the room.

Felipa and Ezequiel start having a conversation, but I can't understand a word because I am stuck on the horrid paint job on the fridge. Is it possible I never noticed it before? How? It's hot and pale pink with white circles. It's blinding me to the closed captions. Seriously? These people are supposed to be rich. How about a little stainless steel, eh? Maybe some granite countertops? A nice sage green paint job on the actual paintable surfaces? Instead of the fridge from the Barbie Dream House?

Okay, back to the show. Felipa and Ezequiel talk vaguely about what happened. They suppose it must have been a fight with Bruno because MaryJo and Alex were in "their" room. Felipa refuses to discuss what the fight was about, even after Zeke complains that Bruno called him a pimp. She reminds him that they see and hear, but keep their mouths shut. She's planning on spending the night in Vicky's room in case Vicky wakes up and needs anything.

Roberto takes a female party guest upstairs to get it on. He makes fun of her for wondering if the host will get mad that they're using one of the bedrooms. "Duh, what do you think these parties are for?" Funny, I never saw a bowl of keys.

Ulises begins the seduction of Raquel. She agrees she'd find him most "apetible" (appetizing).

Maura comments on it to Lizette who thinks it's a shame, because she had her eye on Ulises too. Maura reminds her that he's a "mantenido" (a kept man, a moocher), but Lizette thinks she's perfectly capable of being mooched off of.

Raquel wants some assurances that Ulises isn't just messing around with her and really wants her. So he kisses her. That's apparently enough evidence for her. She says he kisses better than she thought. He tells her that he's been thinking about her since he got back and that he's always liked her. He says that she's special and has qualities he can't find in anyone else. She wants to believe him, but she gets all nervy and tells him this is actually the first time she's cheated on Roberto. He's surprised, but he wants to be the first.

Bruno pours out his troubles to Erick. He's shocked. Bruno is pissed that he's carrying the same blood as Alex. Erick tells him it's an outrage that as the first born he has even more right to everything than Alex has. Bruno starts talking about killing Alex again, but Erick is like, "dude, he's the cat that keeps coming back, enough already!" Bruno says he'll just have to keep trying until he manages to kill off Alex, but for realz this time. Erick wants him to calm down and think about how to do it without raising suspicious. Bruno takes offense because Erick isn't acknowledging his righteous anger, yo.

MaryJo pouts to Alex about being alone in the house all day. She needs to do something and she's used to working. Alex wants to talk about it later, but maybe for now she can hang out with his mom and convince her that she's really in love with him. They kiss goodbye and he goes to see how Vicky's doing before he goes to work.

Vicky is feeling better this morning and wants to chat with Alex for a bit. She wants him to know what happened, but he already does because Bruno told him. Alex thinks Bruno's anger will pass. He feeds Vicky a bite of her waffle and tells her it's time to start thinking about herself. Felipa agrees. Vicky objects that it's about her son and Alex says "hey, I'm your son too, right?" He reminds her that she's not just his mom, she's a woman. He wants her to leave behind her "lastres" (burdens) and write and travel. Maybe she could go look at some land they bought with Fernando…wouldn't she like that? Vicky agrees, so Alex is going to let Fernando know. Mhm, who's the alcahuete now, eh? He kisses both his mom and Felipa goodbye and leaves. Vicky wonders why Bruno is the way he is. Felipa sagely says it's because "nunca falta un negrito en el arroz" (the rice never lacks a speck…maybe something like, there's always a black sheep in the family, or everything can't be perfect).

Downstairs, Zeke takes a minute to discuss household matters with Alex. Bruno came home in the "madrugada" (early morning hours) drunk as a skunk. He is concerned about Erick driving Paula around because Raquel is getting upset. Alex tells Zeke to hire another driver for Raquel and Zeke suggests a cousin of his. Alex agrees. Zeke also wants to consider letting the nurse go, as Pedro is getting around much better. Alex says to ask Pedro what he thinks and then gets driven off to work.

Ulises and Maura chat on the phone. Ulises doesn't want to give up a lot of details about his rendezvous with Raquel, except to say that she's very "fogosa" (fiery) and he can tell that Roberto hasn't been doing his husbandly duty. He also opted to rent a (very tackily) furnished apartment and pay for a maid rather than live in a hotel. He figured he'd get more privacy that way. Maura rolls her eyes at him and says she hopes it's an apartment with an address worthy of their social circle. She also reminds him to call MaryJo.

Chucho fills Pedro in on the goings-on at the big house while he mops the floors. He goes off to get fresh water as MaryJo walks up. Pedro lets MaryJo know that he told Zeke to let the nurse go. He can move his knee around even better than before. Pedro wants an update on Vicky from MaryJo. She supposes that Bruno gave her yet another "disgusto" (upset) and her blood pressure went up. Paula comes stalking up to the house complaining that all the spots in the morning classes were taken and now she has to take classes in the afternoon. MaryJo says it's just important to get her education. ShutUp!Paula, however, has different plans--namely, to marry rich like her sister. The nurse comes in to say goodbye. Pedro feels guilty for getting better so quickly and taking her job away from her, but she says she'll now have time to take care of her baby. Although, Pedro is her "consentido" (favorite).

Alex tells Fernando that Bruno knows who his real daddy is. Fernando's first concern, of course, is Vicky. So Alex gives him the job of distracting Vicky by taking her to that archeological site they just purchased. "Dude, but you know how I feel about your mom!" Yep, and that's exactly why he wants Fernando to be the one to distract her. So much so that he practically orders Fernando, who is insecure about Vicky's feelings for him, to give his unfinished work to some other guy so that he can go visit Vicky and start planning their trip. Did he just offer up his best friend to his mother on a silver platter or the other way around?

Roberto needles a rather pissy-looking Raquel about leaving the party early. She tells him that Ulises brought her home. She gets even more upset when she sees the Samaniego bunch outside. Roberto piles it on, saying he's going to go say hello to them. He walks off as she's screaming "don't you dare!"

Papa Pedro greets him and Chucho offers him a beer, but Roberto, ever the thoughtful guest, has brought a drink of his own. (There's a drinking game…if Roberto doesn't have a drink in his hand, drink!) Hellos are exchanged all around. Paula fills Roberto in on the start of her classes. MaryJo leaves to go check on Vicky, and Pedro asks her to pass on his good wishes for a quick recovery. As she leaves, we see Raquel watching from her front porch, making a snotty face. Paula and Chucho start to gossip about what went down at the big house, but Pedro admonishes them not to talk about "family" business. Roberto reminds them that he is family, but "sin voz ni voto" (without a voice or a vote). Everyone looks uncomfortable.

As MaryJo heads into the house, Ulises makes his phone call from a pay phone. This time he tells Zeke that he is Mario Aguirre, but MaryJo doesn't know anyone by that name. Bruno, unfortunately, is there and angrily takes the phone, demanding to know who it is. MaryJo is pissed. Even if she doesn't know a Mario Aguirre, that doesn't give Bruno the right to be all up in her business! She storms upstairs. Bruno, bringing the crazy, delivers unto Zeke the following speech: "Not a word to anyone, understand, not even Alex. In case you didn't know, I've got the same rights in this house as he does, since Antonio f'ed my mother before they were married. Got it? I'm the eldest! Idiot." Or something to that effect. I don't know what word he actually used for "f'ed" but they bleeped it out.

MaryJo tries to visit Vicky, but Felipa tells her that she's with Fernando right now. MaryJo offers to come back later. Felipa sees that she is obviously upset ("you look like you've seen a ghost") but she can't get MaryJo to tell her what's up.

Fernando very passionately explains to Vicky the history of the land. They bought it, but then some archeologists found artifacts and ruins and now, since they can't build on it, Alex wants to give it to the indigenous people in the area so that they can run some sort of cooperative enterprise with it. They want to build a museum to show off the artifacts that were found there. Fernando says they'll need "INA"s permission and for someone to talk to people to convince them of what a good idea it all is. He and Alex thought Vicky could be that person. Vicky hesitates about going out there, but then remembers she needs a distraction and agrees. Fernando very enthusiastically kisses her hand and holds on to it just a bit too long, causing Vicky to remove her hand from his and give it a little pat. Oh, he is so like a puppy.

Ezequiel is going to burst if he doesn't tell Felipa what just happened. So he does. He wants her to confirm or deny that what Bruno told him is true. She says that (a) she doesn't know, (b) Bruno's making things up, and (c) they shouldn't be gossiping. Ezequiel looks no less burst-y than he did before the conversation.

Bruno goes to visit a lawyer, one Felipe Archundia, to ask him if after 10 years it's possible to contest a will. Mr. A says it depends on the circumstances and ominous music plays and Bruno looks just as smug and rat-bastardy as ever.

Paula comes to visit MaryJo. MaryJo asks if she knows who this Mario Aguirre is, but the name doesn't ring a bell for Paula either. Paula wonders if it's someone MaryJo met at the store, but MaryJo says she couldn't have given someone the number when she didn't know it herself. Paula now panics a little and wonders if it's something to do with Papi's shady business associates. MaryJo sincerely hopes not, and crosses herself to ward it off. Paula wants her to tell Alex, but MaryJo isn't sure she should. Paula and I both roll our eyes.

Ulises tells Maura what happened when he called. He tries to get more money out of her, but she says she's already give him more than enough for two phone calls. I agree. He didn't even do the classic "is your refrigerator running?" joke.

Bruno comes back to the house and is pissed off that Fernando was there. He thinks Fernando is hitting on a "vieja" (old lady). Fernando objects to calling Vicky "old." Fernando refuses to answer the question of why he was there and leaves. Bruno goes out to the front steps to tell him that he is forbidden to enter the house again. Puh-leeze. Then, since Felipa is coming up the stairs, he tells her to get back in the kitchen where she belongs. Felipa serenely says that his mother asked her to get some flowers, so she did, since it's Vicky who's in charge here. As Bruno stomps off, she just as serenely calls him an "engreido" (spoiled brat) and "presumido" (arrogant). And not mumbling, and not precisely behind his back, just that he was walking away at the time.

Bruno heads into the kitchen to very rudely tell Ezequiel that he wants everyone at dinner tonight because they have important things to discuss. Ezequiel very shakily asks who exactly he means by "everyone" and Bruno tells him not that drunk Pedro and not Paula, and then calls Zeke an idiot. He leaves and Zeke stands there trembling as he says that Bruno has never talked to him like that before. Really?

Felipa, who is well known for not gossiping, tells Vicky what happened with Mario Aguirre calling and asking for MaryJo. Vicky gets Felipa to make excuses for why MaryJo can't see her.

Out on the front porch of Pedro's house, he and Roberto shoot the bull. Ulises comes up and joins the conversation. Chucho spies. Ulises wants to confirm that Pedro only has two daughters, then asks for Raquel. Roberto gives him permission to go over and say hi to her. Pedro basically likes anyone who says his daughters are pretty, so he thinks Ulises is a fine young man. I have this horrible premonition…do we have any idea what happened to MaryJo's mom? Did she possibly leave Pedro and have another kid who, though younger, looks a lot like MaryJo? Please tell me we're not getting a 2-for-1, long-lost sister and long-lost mother.

Ulises comes into Raquel's house. She's surprised to see him, and even more surprised that he attacks her and throws her down on the table. She doesn't want to get busted by Roberto, but Ulises says that Robert gave him permission to come in and say hello. She tries to get out of their previously agreed on meeting at his apartment later, but he talks her into it. Or nibbles her into it, whatever. He leaves and she's all giddy and disheveled.

Maura pulls up to Alex's place of business. Alex is giving Mari two cell phones, one for Paula and one for MaryJo. Another secretary announces Maura over the speakerphone. She tries to French kiss him hello, but he resists. He also refuses her invitation to lunch. She says she has something interesting to tell him. She's heard rumors from Bruno and Raquel that he needs to hear about. He's really not interested, but she tells him he's smart enough to know if she's making things up, so what is there for him to worry about. Ugh.

Raquel angrily screams at someone to call her a taxi. She goes to meet Ulises at his apartment. As he macks on her, he asks if he can fix her an exotic drink…he was, after all, a bartender in Europe. She wants to talk, but not really. She tells him she hasn't done it with Roberto in years because he says she's disagreeable and repellent. Ulises sweet talks her…"you're beautiful, sweet, distinguished." What. Ever.

Maura rehashes the weirdness of Alex coming home and not remembering being married, then remembering, then blaming it all on Bruno. Alex is surprised she knows all this. She tells him she listens when people whisper. She says that Bruno told her some guy, Mario Aguirre, from Saqui keeps calling the house, but she doesn't know why. She gets him to promise not to tell who she heard it from, but since she says Bruno told her, he doesn't believe her. She says she's sure Bruno forbid Ezequiel from telling him, and she's sure MaryJo isn't going to tell him, so she's just being a good friend and trying to keep him from looking like an idiot.

MaryJo irons and Pedro shines his shoes while Paula reads a magazine. Pedro thinks that Vicky is just tired, but MaryJo thinks Vicky is avoiding her. Ezequiel very stiffly comes in and tells MaryJo that she's to be at dinner that evening. Paula gets all excited, but Zeke bursts her bubble, telling her the message was only for MaryJo. Paula is offended and MaryJo can't buy Paula off with the excuse that it's a "family" dinner. Pedro says that it's probably something personal that they want to discuss in private. MaryJo reminds Paula that despite all the luxury they're living in, they're still what they are. Pedro backs her up.

Felipa passes on the message about Bruno's dinner to Vicky. They wonder what the dinner's about, given that the "family" only will be present. Vicky doesn't like the sound of this.

Raquel and Ulises' afternoon of illicit nookie is interrupted by a call to Raquel's phone, but Ulises tells her to leave it..."si lo encuentras no te conviene" (if you find it, it's not in your best interest).

Alex pulls up to the house in the evening. He goes inside and finds his bedroom empty. He has to go to "her" bedroom to find her. She's all shaky as she says that it's easier for her to be in that room since all her clothes are there. She tells him that Bruno called for a dinner, but she doesn't know what it's about. He asks if something happened and if she has something to tell him. She says no, so he laughs and says he's going to have a shower and change clothes. MaryJo is upset that she didn't get a kiss or a smile from him.

Roberto has been waiting for Raquel and tells her to hurry up and change for dinner. He seems suspicious and upset, but didn't he tell her to cheat on him?

Bruno finally shows up at the dinner table and orders Felipa to go away, since she's not "family." Everyone rolls their eyes and Vicky stands up and insists that Felipa is family, to her. Bruno gives up and announces that he's contesting "his" father's will. Raquel is impactada as she asks "your father?"

Tomorrow: Raquel finds out who her daddy is; Bruno calls Vicky a ho yet again; Alex and Bruno get into a fistfight at the dinner table, or rather, on the dinner table.

I had the night off from rehearsals tonight, so you get this one early.

I never did find out what INA is. Does anyone know?

Kat -- WOW!! Thanks for such an early and HILARIOUS recap "Still wearing their robes from the Macy's Hot Married People Who Can't Be Bothered With Actual Clothes line, Alex and MaryJo finish their dinner"
Am going back to re-read because I was laughing so hard the first time around! Many thanks
CubsFan
PS. INA = The Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History

A world of thanks, CubsFan! That was going to keep me up all night!

Great recap of yet another not-so-informative episode! My favorite lines..."Como diablos could things between them get worse?" and "Paula and I both role our eyes." Believe me, I was rolling my eyes as well.

I mean roll not role.

Por cierto, Cielo de Levy! When is that girl going to learn that the best course of action is ALWAYS to tell Alex?

Excellent work, (aka Kat)! Not only is your summary way better than watching the episode, but if I'd skipped watching the show and only read your recap then I would not be sitting her trying to figure out how to bleach the scenes with Oil Slick and Raquel going at each other out of my memory. Uni could have cut to commercial for all of them and I am sure I would not have missed them -- I've seen late night infomercials that were more palatable.

LOL at your refrigerator rant!

Cielo de Levy and (aka Kat): Me three on the rolling eyes. Hyperactive jealousy gene or not, MJ already has plenty of experience that it's always better to tell Alex, at least about anything weird going on, and especially if Bruno is involved in any way at all. I suppose she doesn't want to make Alex angrier with Bruno than he already is, or that he was wrong to believe her and she's got a boyfriend back home she's still involved with, or especially make him feel like her father / family is the source of too much trouble (if Alex discards the boyfriend theory and decides it's one of the local gangsters from her hometown), but once Alex started asking her questions, she should have talked regardless. I'll bet her keeping quiet comes back to bite her.

EXCELLENT, Kat.

And thanks, Cubs Fan, I too was wondering about INA.

Wow, Bruno is just waaay over the top. He's like a complete mad dog all the time. Most villains are a bit smoother, hiding their evil deeds. Bruno just brings the crazy 24-7. I can't think of anyone in the whole cast he hasn't insulted, slapped, punched, pushed, or called vile names. It just makes him look like the prime suspect for every bad thing that happens. Mr. Pimp Daddy has to keep talking him down from the ledge. Without this sage advice he'd probably shoot Alex at the Dining Room table and declare himself the heir.

Looks like Alex is going to completely bite on the Mario Aguirre set-up. So frustrating.

Seriously, I understand that she doesn't want to upset Alex, but MJ needs to understand that Alex is one heck of a jealous and suspicious person. I don't know how she doesn't see the way he gets pissed off at everything. Though I do think it's hot to see William Levy all angry, I'd prefer if she told him the truth.

BTW guys, I'm so used to reading recaps and comments that I was depressed today when I didn't have time to comment on yesterday's episode! LOL I'm addicted to you guys.

Best line last night Ezekiel he's acting like a demon. Hernan response he's not acting he is one. Maura get a life or a career and get a clue. Alex has been there and done that move on. MJ needs to come clean with Alex about everything that's why Alex still has doubts about her.

Bruno let me get this straight you don't or won't accept Antonio as your biological father but you still want the inheritance anyway. You truly are insane.

When he was in the restaurant with Pimp Daddy E know heard him screaming and shouting about wanting to kill Alex?

I guess the restaurant patron were drown out from hearing it. Because of the music and loud crowded restaurant huh?

This is the worst audio i have ever heard on tv.

Vicki you are really spineless.

Novelera yes Bruno does bring the crazy 24/7 as you said. When he was up in Hernan face yelling about why he didn't tell him the truth and calling Vicki and a ho. Hernan looked liked he was knock his block off.

I still missed the pink refrigerator. Maura house is just as awful. What rich people decorate their houses like that?

When a dog goes mad don't they shoot them? Someone get a gun and put Bruno down. He was acting rabid wasn't he. Hernan should have shot him in the neck with an tranquilizer.

Kat:
Marvelous recap! Am I the only one who finds Bruno's anger really terrifying? The actor is doing a great job convincing me that he is a thwarted sociopath, for sure.
Alas, Kat, I hope your precognition is wrong—I would hate to see yet another sibling who does not know his family. You might be right though,in earlier episodes Pedro did a fair amount of talking to and caressing the bits of statuary that belonged to MJ/Paula's mom.
As to the set's kitchen decor,it is so dreadful that I think we should take a screen shot and post it onto the HGTV website for "Rate My Space". Reading the responses would be a hoot.

Don't forget to put Maura's living room decor it is so horrid.

You all are so cracking me up! LOL

Kat, awesome recap. And your snark was most superb. I had to stop a few times, my gut was just busting I was laughing so hard. My favorites were Cause nothing chills a person out better than sweet, sweet lovin' on high-thread-count sheets. And He didn't even do the classic "is your refrigerator running?" joke. And Bruno takes offense because Erick isn't acknowledging his righteous anger, yo. Not to mention MJ writing your snark for you. LMAO

Did anyone else notice a distinct pimp theme running through this episode? Bruno accused Zeke of pimping Vicky out to Antonio. Maura pimped Raquel out to Oil Slick at the party, while Lisette wished she had been pimped out to him first. Alex was either pimping Vicky out to Nando or vice versa--I'm not sure which. Roberto platonically pimped himself out to the Samaniego gang to piss Raquel off. I mean, wow. Gives new meaning to the phrase It's hard out here for a Pimp. Yo.

Well, one good thing about demon seed Bruno's rampage--it was Equal Opportunity. He spread the hate around to everyone, even the help, instead of directing it all at Alex as usual. Oh, pobrecitos. Hell hath come to the Technicolor House of Doom.

OMG!!! Oil Slick nookie, and with fishnets! Por favor, pass the Clorox. (although it did give us a break from Raquel's incessant barking, yeah that's what she needed, a good shag, hope Mr. European Delight doesn't leave her with a present that keeps on giving)

The expression on poor Zeke's face at being called a pimp was priceless. ROFL

Sooooo... Pimp Daddy E does have some sense in that claimed by the 70s brain of his. Unfortunately, I don't know how long he'll be able to hold Bruno back, but at least he's trying. He may very well end up being a nail in Bruno's coffin in the end, if he doesn't turn up dead first.

Jardinera, I stand corrected. You said you believed Alex was truly okay with Vic and Nando getting totally jiggy (not because he thought it might be one-sided), and looks like you were right!

Ughnnnn. Don't tell me MJ is going to get herself in trouble by being stupid enough to NOT confide in Alex. Dang. And why in the name of the Pope would Al believe anything out of Maura's mouth anyway? I mean, why? "You're smart enough to know if I'm making things up..." Since when?

That's it, Felipa--stand up for yourself, girl.

The camera really loved Alex's face last night. The man looked exceptional. Maybe it was because, once again, the bruises were finally gone-- oh, wait, he'll be slamming Bludo down on the diningroom table tonight, which means he'll probably get some more.

Good Wednesday, mates.

Super recap---thanks Kat!!

Great comments.

I only want to add that the music that they play whenever Ulises is on the prowl seems like something that would be fitting for a low budget porno. I laugh everytime I hear it, because I think it really fits his character,

Kat - thank you for the great recap and awesome snark. It is nice when the snark fodder is handed over on a silver ... or hot pink ... platter, isn't it? LOL

Re: Bruno – yep, there’s a rotten apple in every barrel. This guy is the worst. How can these people just ignore it? They're all idiots.

Bruno has to die. It's the only way out for someone this angry. Anger management won't work, nor will he have any sort of cosmic revelation. He must die.

OMG, the Barbie-pink wicker furniture! Definitely not HGTV-worthy; maybe Extreme Makeover? This family is doomed.

Maybe all the hideous colors trigger Bruno's craziness. Soft shades of green might make him calmer. Nah, he's too BSC.

Fab recap Kat! I didn't get to see all of this episode but I think your recap was much better. I noticed the pink frig too. Awful! I think we should post the whole house on Rate My Space. Bruno is out of control. Sorry I missed the fight on the dining room table. I bet that was priceless!

Thanks Kat! I fast forwarded over all the bad guys. This novela is more generous than most in giving us nice moments between the hero and heroine, I hope they keep it up.

Mrs, 5ft..Tops as usual. My favorite line was, “Funny, I never saw a bowl of keys.” You’re wonderful!

Ulisis: “you're beautiful, sweet, distinguished.” Distinguished---that is an odd compliment right at that moment, don’t you think???

On Vicky’s mothering, Raquel is going down the tubes now, drinking, marriage disintegrating, an affair with an “oil slick”. Couldn’t Mom Vicky notice and offer some help or advice? In this scenario, Raquel is the “good” child, that is in comparison to Bruno, and she is being ignored. Vicky, worried about Bruno, and in the early stages of a new romance, and we know she likes romance, isn’t paying much attention to her daughter.....Raquel needs her.

Isn’t it a shame that one take away word for this novela is “ramera” and you just don’t have much use for it in ordinary life!!

Sandy in TN

Does anyone know if there is a website where you can translate phrases? If you try to look up each word it doesn't make sense because it is a slang phrase or something similar?

Tks again 5ft for the fun & vocabulario.

Raquel hasn't cheated before? I guess no one asked before!

Por supuesto, MJ isn't going to tell Alex about Mario Aquirre, how else can we have the next fit of jealousy & mistrust?

In the avances, Alex & Bruno were rolling around on the table & the candle sticks fall, are they going to burn the house down? The 2 actors must have a few bruises from so many knock down, drag outs.
Good action though.

Roberto is a puzzle, I hope he turns out to be a good guy. Just get rid of mosca on the chin. Interesting character.

Bruno definitely needs Dr Obregón & the manicomio to get some of those relaxing shots.

Kat: Great recap. LOL all the way.

Connie: Have you tried WordReference forums? You may or may not be able to find the phrase depending if it is in the database, or you can post it for answers. Good Luck.

Thanks Pasofino. One phrase that I used to have trouble with was "lo que." I just couldn't figure it out. On one of my CDs they talked about it meaning "what." What do you all think about learning/knowing those kinds of phrases? Does it make you sound more like a native speaker as opposed to Spanish that you learned in school?

Did you see how Raquel almost fell after she called for the taxi?

I don't think that was planned lol

http://telenovelashunks.blogspot.com/

Yes, I noticed Racquel tripping on the sidewalk and I thought it was not planned, either. She is a pro, though, and stayed with the scene. At one point, she seemed to look at someone, as if to wonder 'aren't you going to yell CUT?' LOL But it did make it all more realistic so that's probably why they left it alone.

Well Bruno is going to contest the will. He said that in thee avances for tonight. Right at the dinner table, then let Raquel know their father is really Antonio too. Their mother is an slut that's when Alex tried to make Bruno's face a permanent fixture of the dining room table.

Seeing how he talked to Hernan, Felipa and Ezekiel he questions why he isn't the heir. He can contest all he wants even if Antonio didn't leave any stipulation that the will can't be contested.

He just is not qualified to run that company. What happened to the 500k Alex gave him. Did he spend it already?

Whenever i see Oil Slick i'm thinking of a STD waiting to happen. No amount of rubbers will still keep you safe.

Do you you see how Vicki acts when Bruno is that. Totally oblivious.

Wouldn't it be great if Vicky just reached over with a candlestick and popped him one on the head and said knock it off? Although, knowing Bruno, he'd probably punch her in the face.

Stephe, I was just telling my sister how William Levy is bruised like every week! LOL he did look beyond amazing in the episode. Love the white jacket over his shirt.

Thanks for the recap Kat. I'm glad you and others have noted Bruto's insane anger. He's the one who needs to be committed and yet no one does anything.

Yes, MJ how long will it take you to learn tell Alex everything?

LOL to those of you who stated you needed new eyes after seeing Raquel and Oily.

Thanks, 5ft. for the excellent , as always, recap. Wow~~~These folks are way beyond anger management intervention In the previews in which the guys took the rumble right to the tabletop, didn't Vicky stand up and throw a plate on the floor ? Was that supposed to get their attention and stop the fight ? Will A and Bruno fight in each and every episode ? Note to MJ : It's not a good idea to put yourself in between two big dudes who are ready to rumble. I've seen male teachers get punched trying to stop fights. I think that the writers are giving us clues that Roberto o o is going to turn towards the light. He seems to like Paula and hanging out with the regular folk and sharing a brewski. And ...Useless...what can I say after that ''love'' [???] scene. I guess he's not completely useless. He served a purpose for Raquel last night. Maybe she'll chill out for awhile. Maura really frosts me . She is one of those people who just can't figure out that ''no, no, y, no'' means ''no.''

Cielo de Levy Aka Mrs.Levy William can be bruised or non bruised the man is just dead drop sexy.

MJ after going through all of that nonsense with Bruno and getting to where you are with Alex now. You not being upfront and honest about anything Bruno says or do doesn't make any sense.

I guess that slap that into next week he gave you on Monday knocked you're common sense loose.

I love a nice quiet dinner with the family. They say sth like, have a sit-down dinner with your children & they turn out better. Guess it's too late.

Anon, so with you on that one. The guy is built perfectly! I don't think there is one physical feature in William Levy that I don't drool over! :-)

Burno is insane and getting worse by the min. Alex always looks good even with bruises on his face! Maybe if rachel gets it enough she will be in a better mood. I think oil slick is kind of attractive, but after he does something with rachel husband I changed my mind fast! I was shocked and after that i just laughed.

reb

Cielo de Levy i have my drool rag on stand by for 9:00 every evening. I still go to youtube to watch my favorites episodes of CCEA. CCEA did have some very good episodes especially in the beginning.

Kat: Another excellent recap. Your recaps are just great.

At this point there really isn't another level Bruno can take his madness to other than head spinning and spewing some vile, neon green substance.

Roberto is hard to read and it will be interesting to see more elements of his character as they are revealed. Although contemptuous of Raquel, he was clearly angry at her last night. Obviously not distainful enough not to be jealous.

Diana in MA

Kat, thanks again for another very funny recap. I didn't see any insightful notes from Mr. 5ft.?

Bruno is so abusive, they need some taser guns in that nut house.

rsk

Kat, great recap, super funny as usual.

Connie: There's a book called "Breaking Out of Beginner's Spanish" by Joseph Keenan, which has lots of good explanations of various phrases, verbs, etc. I found it very helpful.

I like the contrast between Raquel and Maura. Raquel is always upset, always complaining, but Maura, who has just as many things not going her way, is smiling, happy, devious, and has a plan! Oh, she's bad, but I just can't dislike her as much as I do Raquel.

Kat, thank you so much for the dialogue fill-ins and the laughs this busy morning; I've been taking breaks with you and the great commenters whenever I can and I'm LMAO.

Surprises for me so far:

Alex being apparently OK with his BFF and Vicky getting together.

Raquel getting Uli before Roberto.

Vicky spilling the who's-your- daddy beans to Bruno so early.

Ever unfolding decor horrors after I thought I'd seen them all--the frig close-up was a jaw dropper.

One other thought. Am guessing the two mentions of an MJ lookalike surely means there is one. Dum da dum dum.

reb ~~ That is the perfect name for Bruno...switch 2 letters , and presto...Burno. Love it ! He reminds me of one of those little dogs that just keeps on nipping at everyone's heels and yapping...the guy who always wants to be large and in charge but...isn't. I am so sick of his temper tantrums. Diana ~ Hmmm...Who is Roberto o o jealous of...Useless or Raquel ? Evidently, Useless now knows them both [in the Biblical sense ] . He has been doing some comparison shopping. Did Maura tell him to pursue Raq ? If so, why so ? And, anyone who uses words like repellent and disagreeable to describe Raq seems to be pretty discerning . As for Useless's sweet murmurings to separate Raq from her frock, wouldn't any girl [or boy ???] be swept off her [his ???] feet at being referred to as ''distinguished ?''

Yes Bruno needs an exorcism to be performed him, especially after he learned the whole truth of his parentage. Where is the normal telenovela priest? I haven't seen one so far. Maybe Vicki should hire an shaman for those nasty twins of hers.

Thanks Hombre. I have that one but haven't gotten to that chapter yet. It is a good book for anyone who is interested in improving their Spanish.

Hombre ~~ Chantal Andere [Raquel] seems to always play the same type : She of the Perpetual Hissyfit. She's either rich, spoiled , and nasty/angry [Destilando Amor], or poor, jealous, and nasty/angry [Amor Real]. I've never seen her play a good girl. She always has a scowl on her face and breaks into a rage at the drop of a hat.

Taser guns for Bruno kept in that nut house too funny. The reason why Maura is so serene and happy because she was getting it on the regular from Alex until MJ showed up. She still believes things will go back to normal between her in Alex once they break up. Raquel on the other hand wasn't getting anything because like Roberto said she is repulsive and nasty. I believe you guys can attest not exactly qualities in a woman you are looking to shag even if it's for one night.

Anon, I think you must be my long lost twin! I watch episodes of CCEA still too! My favorites are episode 73 and 91...actually I also like the few right before Mari went blind too and JM was making her jealous... LOL wish I knew you before!

Connie, have you tried the Reverso dictionary on line? I use this for translating the unknown words for the novels and/or short stories we read in my ongoing Spanish class. Some of us have been in this advanced Spanish class for more than 10 years! It's really fun. Anyway, sometimes when you look up a word, there will be a list of idioms and slangy usages of the word in a phrase.

As far as lo que is concerned, my understanding is that it's a phrase used in place of a noun and would be understood by the other person to replace that noun. Example: Lo que pasó en aquella fiesta fue muy interesante. We might say that in English as: What happened at that party was interesting. Or The thing that happened at that party was interesting. If anyone has a better understanding of lo que, please weigh in.

5 ft. Latina writes: This is actually the first time she's cheated on Roberto. He's surprised, but he wants to be the first.
This cracked me up last night-- It's now really hot to be the first guy to get the non-virgin whose cheating for first time! Of course, Useless could NOT CARE LESS whether he's the 1st or the 100th! I resubmit the comment; PASS THE CLOROX. ARGHH!
Susanlynn: I do think Roberto is jealous of Useless, not Raquel. His only interest in Raquel is that her stepbrother funds his full time leisure activities. This Useless guy is some piece of work....vomitacious but well-cast.

Yes, novelera...lo substitutes for noun and generally is THAT WHICH. And yes, it does make you sound more native to use LO, LO QUE, LO DE.....
A very common use of LO is when it is used to mean ---all that refers to..such and such for person, thing, issue--: Lo de Pedro es muy triste. All that stuff about Pedro is very sad. LO is a reference to a bunch of stuff OR a reference to what you have just been discussing or what you have been hearing about...

Susanlynn: Ahhh, you are right once again. Of course! Roberto was jealous of "Useless", not Raquel! Silly me to think he might care a whit about Raquel (no one does) :). Loved "He has been doing some comparison shopping" and "Useless's sweet murmurings to separate Raq from her frock". Thanks so much.

Diana in MA

ADDENDUM novelera: LO, meaning THAT WHICH
You may already know this expression but I'm mentioning because it's such a common & native use: POR LO QUE DIJO BRUNO, parece..... = From what Bruno says, it seems....
or...that corny expression that means. I don't love you for who you are, but for who I am when I am with you!!!
Yo no te quiero por lo que tu eres, sino por lo que yo soy cuando estoy contigo

Cielo de Levy my favorites from CCEA are the wedding night so romantic. The restaurant scene love it. There really wasn't a lot of talking in that scene and both actors conveyed how much they still wanted and loved each other. That was episodes 44 and 45.

Episode 46 when MC decided to tell JM and let him know she was pregnant. Excellent acting again. Cecilia finding out MC was her daughter not the imposter Estefania. Her confronting her and Isabel priceless.

Episode 87 when JM see MC again while driving. Episodes 94,95 96 and 97 JM learning that Omar is in love with his woman and putting together 2 and 2 to find out she had a baby. The confrontations over who's the father of MC child.

Episodes 122 the flirtation and make MC jealous i just loved this episode so much. Jm was having a good time teasing MC and when he lean in and MC thought he was going to kiss her he told her you and me are enemies buenas noches MC and SWAG out of the apartment. I was cheering saying there you go boy.

The scene when MC woke up in the hospital and JM was holding her hand and she called for Omar. Yeah i was crying right along with JM too.
Episode 139 the final emotional goodbye maybe. JM giving up and trying to move on.

Episode 145 that is not a novela kiss it's real it's real. That kiss with the pleading and begging and snot whew. I replayed that episode just to makes sure everthing was technically sound with that scene. Love it.

Cielo glad to know someone has the same fondness for CCEA and desire for our boy Levy.

Let's not forget MC and JM dancing at Estefania coming out party. The near kiss and JM guilty expression at almost kissing MC on the crowded dance floor.
That's why i was so impressed with how as a actor William has grown. I have seen everyone of his novelas except Passion. So he wasn't that much of a actor just good eye candy you know. Then you also have to remember he started off as a model. Very few models become successful actors so he has come a long way.

I don't know what I would do without all you wonderful recappers.

Connie: I use Babel Fish, a Yahoo translation site.

http://babelfish.yahoo.com/

Thanks much, Cara, for expanding on my lo que lesson. Your examples of real usage by Spanish speakers are excellent!

Please Cara leave some of that clorox for me too.

Thanks everyone for the grammar help. Some of those translation cites are not very good. I found one that conjugates too but I can't remember what it was. Cara, I like that expression!

Anon, love all of those too! You are getting my all excited...think I'll go back and watch them later. :-)
:-) :-) :-) :-)

This stuff with Raquel, Useless, and Roberto is so strange...I don't watch all of it, but all these comments are making me want to give it another chance.

Enjoyed your recap, Kat. Paula & I rolled our eyes - along with the rest of us. Lots of funny stuff.

I'm wondering if the house decor was intentionally done that way to cut set costs. That kind of 'decor' isn't expensive and it could be passed off as the wacky rich like it.

ITA that MJ keeping quiet about the phone calls and Bruno will definitely come back to bite her...in the butt...

Steph:Re: It's hard out here for a Pimp. Yo. Yes, lots of reference to pimping.
I'd say por LO que YO veo in Lombardo Land -- "It's easy out there for a PIMP!" YO!
(For those of you curious about this song, It actually won an Oscar-soundtrack from movie "Hustle & Flow"

Bruno needs a lobotomy.

Variopinta – And we thought the Elizalde family dinners were awful. ;o)

HdM – I bought that 'Breaking out…' book after you or someone recommended it on the MEPS forum. It really is a good book and I appreciate the suggestion.

Doris, have you read the chapter on swearing? I thought that was particularly interesting. I showed it to my boyfriend and he said "oh, that's not a good book. You should take it back." I guess he didn't want me to learn to swear in Spanish! 8(:-) We haven't needed our beanies so much on this show. Maybe that's a good sign.

Uli's theme: Smooth 80s electric guitar with a little bass and some cymbals thrown in, and a cool European beat, Bom-chicka-wow-wow... chicka-wow-wooooow... dum-de-dum-wow... Bom-chicka-wow-wow... chicka-wow-wooooow... And he hits that pimp step as he walks, gives ya that wink and that knowing smile, he knows you want to do him, yeah....

Not!

(I will say though, that during Raquel nookie he had the slick stuff OUT of his hair, and for once his hair looked kinda pretty, all feathered and such. He ought to keep it like that.)

Well, time to read some comments.

Cielo de Levy great minds think alike.

Stephe are you hinting that you have watched porn scandalous.

Oh! the comments are hilarious today.

Please next time they show Barbie's pink fridge someone get a picture.

I just went to youtube looking for last night's episode and i can only find a very edited version of it.

I don't care if you're rich, or wacky or whatever. No sane person would decorate their house like that unless they are doing acid an are color blind.

So... aren't any of our blog men going to comment on Raquel's fishnets and little red skirt? Mmmmm? I'd have worn them, yeah. Just not with Mr. European Delight.

Gracias, everyone, for the Spanish lessons. I need all I can get. Connie, I use SpanishDict online. I find that whole site interesting.

http://www.spanishdict.com/translation

Cara, LOL! You're right, it is easy in LombardoLand for a pimp, dawg. (BTW, I am NOT a fan of 3-6 Mafia, the song is just so danged appropriate.) :D

Okay, we're maybe a quarter of the way in, and Bruno is frothing at the mouth like some quarantined mastiff, and his anger keeps ratcheting up faster and higher every day. How he's supposed to make it to the end of this thing without busting a blood vessel first is beyond me. He may truly start relieving the pressure with worse violence. Or bodies.

Chucho was watching Useless rather strangely last night, peeking from the shadows of Papi's doorway as Useless greeted all and strolled by on the way to Raquel's. Maybe Chucho will be instrumental in bringing the man's misdeeds to light later...?

Anon 5:16... Me, watch porn?? *gasp* Soy inocente! I'm only going by what I've heard.

:)

Thanks Stephe. I can use all the help I can get. Remember when we had to look stuff in a dictionary? Oh the horror! You should add Bruno's new name to your list. It was up earlier in one of the comments and was very appropriate. I keep waiting for him to start spewing pea soup while his head spens backwards!

Variopinta, that link you posted about "lo" is excellent. I just added it to my favorites.

Spins--sorry. Tomorrow night there is no show because of the Latin Grammys and I thought we could just have an open discussion. If anyone wants me to pose some questions or whatever just to get us started let me know. Does anyone know when the TN Awards is? Dipity asked me that last week and I never had time to look. Maybe we already missed them.

Ok Stephe tu muy inocente but you seem to know the whole musical background of porn movies? Ahem Ahem.

Since when is Useless considered European Delight? Maybe it's the house colors and the way Pimp Daddy E dresses. Plus Bruno accusing Ezeke of pimping his mom out to Antonio. I just feel i'm stuck in a bad 70's exploitation tv show.

Call me crazy or tasteless, but I actually like the light fixture in Useless's apartment. It has a certain pizazz. When you have too much pizazz all at once, though, it's just overwhelming and gross.

I still don't know much Spanish, but my Dominican students greet each other with the phrase ''Que lo que.'' They translated that for me as ''What the what?'' which I thpught was pretty cute.

Do the Latin Grammys have anything to do with telenovelas, or is it just music?

Only music it like our american music grammys. Anything involving novelas usually has novela in the title.

My new favorite singer is Pitbull. His new hit would be a great theme for Useless. The lyrics are pretty easy : ''I know you want me. I know I want you. One, two, three, four ...Uno, dos, tres, quatre...repeat and repeat and repeat...'' It has a fantastic, throbbing beat...perfect for Mr. Heartthrob [Useless]. My student Carlos told me that Mr. Pitbull is Cuban. He recently appeared in a nearby town, but Carlos advised me not to go to that club because he said there are always lots of fights there and someone was killed there recently...Yikes. Okay, I took a pass on that concert. I'm hoping that he will be on the Latin Grammys. I think Lucero is hosting.

I received Corazón Salvaje from netflix today with Eduardo Palomo & watched the 1st half. It is of good quality with subtitles. I'm sure they cut out a lot of weeping & wailing, but the continuity isn't that bad.

A lot of people have raved about this one & I thought I would watch just to compare Yáñez with Palomo.

Stephe- It was interesting that Chucho's instinct was to watch Useless (who seems to be useful to Raquel) distrusfully from afar. He has also been suspicious of Bobo (when Paula went out with him). In this way, he and MJ seem to have the same instincts when it comes to who to trust in the Lombardo household. She has not been warm to Bobo or Useless either. Pedro and Paula, on the other hand, seem to lack this instinct of knowing the good from the bad people. They are being very open and trusting with these two and with Eric.

-Vivi in DC

Having slept his way through Europe and back with his bartending, hustling self, I do believe Useless sees himself as Mr. European Delight... next to Team MexiTrash, anyway. LOL

I still keep dictionaries around, but when they were ALL we had, it was hell when it came to phrases, I agree.

I hope we haven't missed the TN Awards.

Whatever you all want to do about tomorrow night is okay with me. General discussion rocks.

Just got around to reading comments from yesterday and today. Incog I like you style of detailed discussion of past episodes. Great assist. If I ever recap regularly, I would do it your way. Since I have not mastered the language, I ended up here for the complete translations. otherwise I would not be here.

I loved Raquel's outfit. And I would not kick her out of bed. I like them tall. :) Maybe this would help her loosen up since as she says, she has not had any from Roberto in years..... Good God! Years.... She's not bad, perhaps a little straightening out will do her good. BTW I think her tripping was a deliberate comedic moment insert because of her frustration. I enjoyed it. Pure comedy.

Um Stephe, Bom chicka Bow Wow. Uh huh. Yeah sure... Wink wink. ;)

Isn't Ramera the same as Puta? Looks like the fisticuffs between Alejandro and Bruno went beyond what I thought it would. Good. But poor Victoria, que lastima. Actually they both can't fight alick. More like school kids fight.

Ezequiel seems shell shocked from Bruno's verbal abuse. I guess the only reason Hernan was in there was because of the Doctor's report from Alex, otherwise I would ask since when does the family doctor participate in board meetings?

I'm enjoying this fast paced action. A lot is happening and we have nothing to complain about. Others who don't feel it is their cup of tea can always skip it. Your prerogative.

I'm a very visual person and I have to see everything. Even the sucky parts. That's just me. I don't know if it's a male female thing, but I noticed that the females here notice what Maria Jose and the other girls are wearing and the house decor too. I noticed those since I'm pretty observant but it never occurred to me to critic the house decor and fashion of the females. ***shrugs shoulders***. I guess my eyes would perk up a bit if the girls were all of a sudden wearing something sexy and revealing.

I'm not sure about the other gentlemen here, but I'm always too focused on the story as if I was there myself nad you all see that in my comments.

I thought it was interesting that Ulises apartment was in a shady side of town. He's also crafty in trying to save some money by going cheap. That money would run out faster if he took the luxurious hotel suite. I guess Raquel wanted to go there discreet and took the taxi. Perhaps she was embarrased to be driven there too. Who knows?

I just remembered that Maria Jose had to lose weight before the show. Hmmm If Maria jose becomes pregnant, it is logical that she will gain some more weight. Interesting.

Look like Bruno is now onto Fernando about hooking up with Victoria. This definitely gets intriguing. Casa de locos indeed.

RE: Victoria's parenting...
"On Vicky’s mothering, Raquel is going down the tubes now, drinking, marriage disintegrating, an affair with an “oil slick”. Couldn’t Mom Vicky notice and offer some help or advice? ...Vicky, worried about Bruno, and in the early stages of a new romance, and we know she likes romance, isn’t paying much attention to her daughter.....Raquel needs her".
What great analysis, Sandy! Right on the money. Vicki is so caught in maintaining her own self-image as a good mommy and as an attractive woman that she is not able to see as her daughter steps on the slippery slope.

Susanlynn you said that your students greet each other with ''Que lo que.'' They translated that for me as ''What the what?.''

Maybe that is synonymous to whatup or what's up. How we greet each other in English.

You said Lucero is hosting the lating Grammy's? I think I will watch it. I usually record Survivor and Csi on thursdays and thought I would watch them in real time. Guess not. :) I'm smitten by Lucero. Then again, I like most of the females there...

Who do you all like among the singers/actresses?

1) Lucero
2) Ninel Conde
3) Susanna Zabaleta
4) Daniela Castro
5) Daniela Romo
6) Natalia Ramirez
7) Alisson Lozz
8) Niurka Marcos

Perhaps Jarocha could chime in here too. I value her opinions very much. As well as everyones.

Ibarramedia

Ibarramedia- Amen! I am also liking the pace of the show and enjoying the action. Even if we get some crazy, convoluted story lines, they can't be drawn out because this tn is only 90-something episodes long. Glad you can also enjoy looking at some of the ladies in this show (even badies like Raquel) as we ladies have been drooling all over Alex. I have to say, I wouldn't say no to oggling many of the men in this show if they were scantilly clad or in a nicely tailored suit. Those boys have been working out...

-Vivi in DC

Stephe, wouldn't Mexitrash be the same as Naco or is that a different category?

Ibarramedia

Dang, Julia, I missed the light fixture but I will look for it. You've got me curious. I must have been temporarily blinded by something unsavory... O.O

Yes, there has been yet another sweep of YouTube videos. Good grief. I can see where The Powers That Be are coming from, but use your heads, guys. You're taking away a lot of free publicity that draws tons of viewers to your television broadcasts as well. (Lots of us watch on AND offline!) You've got a crapload of people in the U.S. patroning your shows, giving you ratings and new viewers when we don't have to, and you can't meet us somewhere halfway? That's about as dumb as a bag of rocks.

Your concern should be that no one misuses or takes credit for your hard work.

JMHO, however misguided it may be.

Chapel Hill Fidler, I agree with you on the generosity the writers have in letting us see so many romantic scenes with alex and Mj. We had very little of this in Manana es para siempre. Ret

Vivi, I think they boys still look kind of puny. All they really have are abs. Other than that they are not particularly big by my standards. They don't look over 200 pounds. I guess I'm basing this on my size and I'm a little more hardcore into strength and lifitng.

Raquel is a spoiled brat but not evil like her twin brother. Look at it like Taming of the shrew. Besides she is fiery and tall. Heh heh. Maura is mischievous. She is ok but I like Raquel and Maria Jose more.

Elna June: "Vicki is so caught in maintaining her own self-image as a good mommy and as an attractive woman that she is not able to see as her daughter steps on the slippery slope." I agree completely......so very sad!

suanlynne. YES! Pitbull's "You know you want me" would be perfect theme for Useless! I love the beat..It really grows on you. Pitbull's parents made him memorize the poetry of the great spanish poets. I wonder how they are enjoying his music ?!
It's amazing how ASEXUAL Bruno is because of his pathological anger. I mean the guy could be really hot but the anger totally obliterates his potential.

Stephe, I noticed the light fixture because I just had to look away from Ol' Lice 'n' Fleas.

There are a number of things in each of the houses that I like individually, but all together? Yikes.

I've explained this on more than one occassion during the FELS and MEPS run. But youtube has been clamping down on copyright issues. or copyright violations. Not just on telenovelas but in all aspects of videos. It could be movies, cartoons, webcams, paysites, HBO boxing pay per view. Same with the music. Just as an example, I could be filming Connie, Molly, Vivi and yourself in the gym working out and Lady Gaga is playing on the radio, It will still be flagged as a copyright violation unless I have permission to play the music. It does not matter that the music is unintentional on our part. The fact it is playing in the background is enough. That is why some of you may see videos without audios because the music was the issue. Youtube turned off the audio because of this.

Ibarramedia

Actually, the Bruno Takeover fiasco was the first time I recall Vicky being involved with Lombardo Construction. Doesn't seem like she's an officer, but she had enough power to stall the decision-making for a bit, and I'm sure that has nothing to do with being The Madre. She's a shareholder then, with stock, anyone know? And where has this power been up to now? Just saying.

Yeah, when Alex and Bruno fight, there is no strategy or thinking involved. It is all emotion. They are still those school kids from long ago, in their minds.

Hey, Ibarramedia! :) Glad you're chiming in. Someone on the blog coined the phrase MexiTrash (Maura, Uli, Lis, etc.) from the wellknown "EuroTrash", the lazy, trashy rich who look down their noses at everyone beneath them kind of thing, I believe... so I don't think it's similar to naco (isn't that a derogatory slang for someone poor?).

William's body is perfect, i believe someone in a comment one time said he had a swimmer's body and i agree.

David looks a little more muscular, when he had the fight scene with William over the cell phone i was distracted by those horrible neon bright yellow underwear showing his chubby.

Even Useless body is nice too, minus the head. His face just throws me off.

Roberto body is good too. He needs to lose that black tuft of hair under his bottom lip.

We all know Gabriel Soto body is gorgeous also.

Hernan is probably on the board of directors too remember he and Antonio were BFF.

Lucero for me. Beautiful voice and she sings all types of music.

The woman who sings Sortilegio theme they say is Daniela Romo.

As for the others i've heard of most of them but not as singers.

Ol'Lice "n" fleas ding, ding ding we got a winner here folks.ROFL.

Bruno has rather a nice physique all around--those nuclear fallout undies were the problem in that scene. When you're competing with a full-blown sex god like Levy, you cannot afford that kind of mistake. Trust.

Touche Stephe the undies whatever was wardrobe thinking.

Stephe, yes, Mexitrash is our telenovela word play on Eurotrash. I seem to remember Eurotrash as being titled but penniless nobility who specialized in traveling around Europe, staying at other people's country houses and taking advantage of nouveau riche Americans who wanted the cachet of hanging out with people descended from the very best families in Europe.

Of course, some of our Mexitrash appear to really have money (Maura).

Ramera = whore, slut (sexually loose)
Puta = b!tch (really mean)

Not the same.

Thanks, novelera, I wasn't quite sure. Yeah, our trash seems to have money, which makes their being parasites even worse! I mean, what the heck is their excuse?

I would agree that Levy's body is perfect. He's all muscle, defined and nicely cut. Strong, but not overly bulked up. Lean, toned, tall... where was I???

Since I don't like to even look at Oil Slick if I can help it, I didn't really notice much about his new crash pad except for a poster that seemed inappropriate except for a poster of a curvaceous and scantily-clad woman which, even for a sleaze like Slick seemed out of place (Would a gigolo-type such as Oil Slick, who pays most of his expenses by leeching off well-to-do friends and/or in bed with any rich suckers he can find, really have something that screams freshman college dorm room like that??). Another thought was that Raquel must really be desperate, because the kind of neighborhood Oil Slick is living in now seems to be exactly the type she pretends doesn't even exist. I guess she figures if he's living somewhere none of "their" people do, then there's no chance someone who shouldn't will see her visiting ..?
