Un Gancho - Wed 11-11-09 - ?

Your recapper has just returned from quite a surreal time away in Mexico and well she is quite behind the times. Having an event tonight and not seeing the show for over two weeks I'm in poor form to write anything tonight so I beg your pardon and ask you to comment among yourselves again while I catch up with my "real" life here. I'm hoping to watch all the downloads this weekend and then read the blog. I did get to see an episode of Los Exitosos Perez with Jaime Camil though while I was gone. Hope it comes here. Thanks much for hanging in there for me....

Hi Kris. Hope "surreal" means "great"! time in Mexico, and welcome back. Last night was a very happy episode for those of us who've suffered through some downturns lately but I can imagine that it would be disorienting if you'd missed two weeks of typical Gancho mayhem.

Anyway, no problem, and just glad you're back with us, safe and sound, and hopefully with marvelous memories.

Hola amiga and welcome back! I wasn't quite sure if you would be back in town yesterday or not. I've also had an insane week but I watched last night and this is what I remember (plus I took some notes):

Beto agrees to help Mau get the kiddies back and they are once again soul brothers. He strikes a Fantasma pose and whispers "goodby Monita, my monita". Guess he really means it. Then he goes to see Coni at Mau's house so he can grope her a little and move the kiddie retrieval plot forward. He tells her Moni escaped from hospital and found the kids.

Pau tases Chris at the jail so that she can join her galpals behind bars. She tells him not to forget to feed dad. Then Mau shows up to free Moni and Estrella so Pau is stuck behind bars for the night. She's PO'ed at Chris.

Coni calls evil Shirley Partridge to tell her she's coming to get the kids, they are no longer safe at the reform school. I think Beto wanted to get them himself but Coni wants to go with. Drat! When they get there the matron recognizes Beto but Coni is too busy yelling at her to hear the matron's warning and anyway Beto puts the pedal to the metal.

Lorenza tells Sal that he's paranoid, going crazy, and aging badly. Later Sal picks up Gabi for their date and he's dressed like Fonzi, guess he's trying to look young. Then they go to a disco and he calls her Gabilucha and tells her his batteries are still charged.

Nieves and Alicia almost have a catfight about Monita being in jail but Estrella shows up just in time and they are mollified.

Beto's plan continues...he stops for a torta milanese and convinces Coni to get out and buy it for him. He kburns rubber leaving her stranded and incensed. She eventually makes her way to Jero's house where she tells Jero and Oski about Beto's betrayal.

Beto brings the kids to Mau and Moni, Mission Accomplished. Hugs all around. Moni is proud of Beto and tells him he might not be her prince charming but he is her hero. This almost made me cry, no kidding. Mau and Beto strike a mirror image Fantasma pose, very cute.

Xime and Rolu (on crutches) show up at the very disco where Gabi and Sal are gyrating. Rolu is still, as Cesar would say, Dickus Maximus as he insults Xime and makes her drink a whiskey which makes her feel like guácala de perro. When she goes to dance with Sal and Gabi he starts sucking face with some qualquiera. Xime pulls them apart so Rolu has a tantrum and wants to go home.

Cesar reads poetry to Nieves in bed. I wonder, does he wear his sunglasses during lovemaking? Beto comes home and crawls into bed with them for some affection and sympathy.

Familia Mauricio goes to some house that used to belong to his grandpa. They will hide out there for a couple of weeks.

At this point I got distracted by something and stopped taking notes: Sal passes out at the Disco. I seem to recall that Xime asks Rolu when he will be faithful to her and he tells her when she becomes wonder woman. Sal and Gabi end up back at her place and he passes out again but he is still breathing so not dead. Sleeping maybe? That's all I can remember.

Thanks Syl, for myself I'll read later because i haven't caught up but so glad you put that in for folks. Thanks so much.

And yes Judy, in this case surreal to me means wonderful, but just mesmerizingly out of my day to day world, though in the best possible way. I can't think of a better word to describe it. It was simply amazing on so many levels (good!) :)

I heard one of my favorite songs and bands in last nights episode Reiks 'me duele amarte' so I know this has to be a great novela lol.

Kris, welcome back. We missed you. Please tell us about your trip. We're going to Mexico (Isla Mujeres) early in Dec.

Sylvia thanks for the mini-recap. I felt tears welling up with the scene in which Moni was thanking Beto. Beto is simply innately lovable. Thank goodness for a very nice dose of Ximena last night. I was hoping things would work out with Rolu but after last night... dump his sorry butt.

I was hoping Sal's conking out would lead to a medical exam but I guess we'll have to watch Loriloca cook his brain for a while longer.

Carlos

Kris, welcome back! Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

Cap'n Sharkbait, Kris owes you a beer or a donut or whatever is appropriate! Thanks for putting this together.

Beto and chivalry in its best meaning... Who woulda thunk it?

Carlos, how would you diagnose Salvador's poisoning? Wouldn't it require a specific blood test?

Lastly, we had a late comment from newcomer Rox to Carlos' Monday recap. Welcome Rox!

Mike, that would be a beer, thanks for looking out for me.

Welcome Rox!! Great to have you onboard.

Mike, the best was to check most poisoning especially ongoing like this would be checking the urine. Most toxins including drugs persist in the urine long after clearing the blood. For acute poisoning checking the blood concentration is often important.

Rox, let me join Mike in welcoming youas well as Anon. Let me encourage you to add your comments whenever the mood strikes.

Is Aldo OK or is he going to present more problems?

Poor Cristian. He really is a slave to duty, the law, and procedure.

Carlos

Greetings from the middle of a Nor' Easter! This un's a whopper but no trees down yet. Mike still had to go to work - that's dedication for ya.

Welcome back, Kris. Can't wait to hear about your trip. Sylvia has been, Carlos is going, heck, Judy, pack your bags - Mike and I will pick you up and we'll go join the fun!

According to the previews, Aldo's hormones lead him right to Estrella, and the two of them appear to lead Coni right to the hideout, yikes! Time to put saltpeter in his kibble!

Thanks for the recap, Sylvia. You're a peach!

I just saw a tiny car go by with a canoe strapped on top. If he is blown over, he can take out the paddle and continue on his way!

Welcome back, Kris, and thanks, Sylvia for the most excellent (and funny) summary.

I agree, Sal's dressing up and trying to act like Fonzie was due to Lorenza's saying he was getting senile, and was too old for Gabi. Since Gabi doesn't know about that conversation, she might think this is another of Sal's "crazy" symptoms. I do think he was just sleeping at the end, all tuckered out from that vigorous dancing in the club. I loved watching Ximena dance - that Rolu sure is a bum.

I, too was misty when Moni told Beto he was her hero. He also had a very well thought out plan, from telling Connie that Moni knew where the kids were (causing Connie to withdraw the kids), to driving the car to pick them up, to convincing Connie to buy the tortas - brilliant!

It was funny again when Jerry told Connie, now that Mau's gone and Beto tricked you, here I am! She pretended for a second to be interested, then pushed him over the sofa.

Aldo didn't look completely happy at the country house, looked as if he missed Estrella, and the previews seemed to indicate that he may act on this. Of course, Mau had just promised Dany that from now on, they'd NEVER be apart again. Famous last words.

Add me to the bunch of soft-hearted folk who misted up during the Beto/Monita parting. The actor playing Beto really did a superb job of showing emotion with just his facial expressions. Very well-acted.

And I loved him crawling in bed BETWEEN Cesar and Nieves. At first Cesar sulked and then finally took hold of poor Beto's hand as well. Beto really is just a super-sized toddler. That's exactly what a little one would do...get in between his two parents.

I also loved the physical comedy when Oscar, Connie and Jeronimo were all on the couch. First Jerry is pawing her shoulder, her knee, her whatever...then when she abruptly gets up, he's practically thrown into Oscar's lap. There's another little are-we-gay? moment of hesitation and then they jump apart.

Great comedy along with the hysterical dancing of Sal and Gabriela. Those two acquited themselves rather well. She had lots of energy and he was swiveling his hips like they were on ball bearing. These folks really earn their salaries!

Also...forgot to mention, Sylvia and Hombre. We're heading down to Charlotte tomorrow so I'll miss the shows and your recaps. Sorry.

This was a great episode; lots of happiness finally, though I wish Salvador would get some medical help. The dancing was great. I crack up every time I hear "Sexy Sexy Smile."

I shudder to think what Constanza is going to do to Beto. How is he going to charm his way out of this?

Julia- That "sexy, sexy smile" song cracks me up too. Lol! Why has it been in every TN in the past year? Sal could really move his hips though! It was so funny when he and Xime were doing the hip bump.

Count me among those that teared up during Monita and Beto's conversation. :)

And did we hear the voice of Paula's invisible papa for the first time (when he called out to Chis)? Or have we heard it before? Maybe they are working their way up to finally showing him?

-Vivi in DC

Hi Vivi..I think that WAS the first time we heard papa's voice. Now...is he bedridden or just bossy and macho?
