I already said Maura wasn't redeemable but that comment made want to wish Bruno would come back and choke her again like she deserves.

One thing when Ferdumbo told Vicki about MJ and Sandra being twins and the history of Pedro and Elenaa and what happened to their marriage.

He also told her where Elena was living at in Toluca. When Bruno called to ask about any word on MJ yet he Vicki told him the supposed MJ's condition. Vicki then ask where he was he slipped and told her Toluca.

Now when Alex told Vicki late at night how MJ was doing when Vicki started to open her mouth, then stop and changed her mind and gave Alex a blessing.I wonder if she was going to tell Alex about where Bruno is right now.

As for John Segal saying he was finish with the case when did he start? All the man ever did was listen on the phone and smoke his cigars.

Now finally Alex has the truth it's not MJ but Sandra who was return to them.

Vicki needs to stop saying no,no,no,no,no, because usually it's yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah. Also she needs to tell Alex what Bruno told her.

The previews for tonight Alex sees MJ at the party her grandfather is throwing her. Thank God this kidnapping plot is coming to a end.

After her comment tonight she needs to be locked up in a mental asylum for her desperate crazy obsession for Alex.
 

Yes SMC Bruno told Vicki when she asked him where he was at Toluca, both he Dr. Demented out smarted no one.

Their biggest mistake was switch Sandra for MJ now it's been expose our boy Alex will be hot on their trail and he won't stop until he gets MJ back either.

anon 2:18, seems like those two evil-doers just keep leaving their foul-smelling traces with whatever they do. once sandyjo gets rescued from them, can't wait to see bruno whining again hahaha! and please, don't let elena get near MJ anymore! and i think someone commented from yesterday's epi about hoping for abuelo to have a chance to bond with MJ when this nightmare is over. that would be nice. i'd take abuelo over papi-cry-baby pedro anytime.

Thank you Serendipity for getting the recap up in time for my early morning coffee. Wasn't feeling too well last night so wasn't concentrating on some scenes. Filled in wonderfully.

I understand Alex seeing Maura and being concerned for her and Lisette.They all grew up together and he did date her for awhile before MJ. I would think the families were all in the same social circles. He doesn't know what viewerville knows. I think the writers are playing up his interaction and concern with her to make it all the more dramatic when he realizes her betrayal.

As for Bruno, he must be taking stupid pills. First thing to say when Vic tells him MJ is back is "Dead?" Gees. Vic looks like she headed into denial again not telling Alex about the call. woman!

Loved the look Alex gave Katia when she asked about Bruno. Steel could melt with that glare.

I missed some of the MJ/Elena interaction. This MJ seems a bit spunky. Maybe somewhere behind that dutiful daughter, she wanted to be a bit more rebellious and fun-loving too?

can't wait for this party. Will MJ recognize Alex as the man in her dreams?

I thought the same thing when Bruno said it was near that City/town. Thinks go over my head easily but I caught that immediately. Regarding the party, i wish she would recognize alex so that she can be reunited with him and the baby. She needs the bonding with the baby as soon as possible. Why wouln't Alex just take her, since he knows Sandra is not MJ. Therefore, it doesn't matter if she remembers him. There is proof she is she. Alex also knows that the doctor is practicing mind erasing.

So Sandra Jo subconsciously knows she likes painting and will now do it to pass time w/ all the supplies she got.

Sandra has a reason to be nice to Damian/Bruno since she has no memory but Alex, you don't have any reason to play nicey nicey w/ that Maura. If you need somebody to comfort you, there are lot of willing and able bodies here in the CARAY blog to make you feel all better.

Elena you also need to scold Jorge for being rude. He just stared and left at Sandra Jo when she asked who is Maria Jose. Seems Elena is adverse to touching since she seemed hesitant to pat and comfort Sandra Jo.

Love that driving lesson though. Reminded me when I was young learning to drive. All I could hear was screaming coming from my right. LOL

Doris, you can make a bone marrow transplant. They used to get the marrow from the hip bone, and probably still do. I think that is why Maura was lying on her side.
 

Thanks for the recap Dipity. I must have fallen asleep because I don't remember Katia at all. (Darn!) After watching Maura last night I think she's got a snowball's chance in hell of being redeemed. What a heifer. But Alex lets her put her hands all over him so it might not be all her fault. Looking forward to the party.

In the synopsis on televisa, Alex said he would get MJ even if he had to steal her, but probably not from the party.

ITA with all of you have feel Maura cannot be redeemed. I was thinking last night how can you keep lying to this person when you know this situation is breaking his heart? So do we think Maura will just go to prison or have the same fate as Bruno?
 

It seems that the conclusion the boys jumped to when 'MJ' was dumped at the casa was that Dr. Demented and Elena tried their experiments on her to make her pass as Sandra, they failed and she was left in this comatose state, and when the real Sandra returned from Spain, they decided to dump MJ. They were partially right, but thank goodness Hernan cleared things up quickly. Now, on to the party!

Not sure how he is going to just take MJ because she doesn't remember him. She probably assumes that the man in her dreams is Useless. She can't really see the face of the man in her dreams and the description of Useless' body from the maid matches the man in the dream.

Yes, Bruno made a big slip up by telling Vicky he was near Toluca. I am sure that info will be given to Alex soon enough. He also sounded way to eager to know if 'MJ' was dead. Vicky should have picked up on that, but alas, she didn't.

OK. Maura is officially off my list of redeemability. I mean really! You just gave bone marrow to save your sister's life, and you are wishing for the death of another innocent woman? Ugg!
 

Martha- Just saw your comment from late last night about the all inclusive resort in Toluca where you have stayed. Sounds wonderful. I will put it on my list of places to visit.

Yesterday was a fun day for comments and a great recap ...didn't get to read until late, but had lots of laughs....scarves, Josh Groban.

This board has the KINDEST group of people in the world, we all talk about redemption almost every day. If someone at "headquarters" is listening as posted yesterday, I have a suggestion.....next time have one really bad character and then lots of regular people who due to circumstances, make bad choices. Sample characters--- Erica and Gardenia of MEPS, decent people who made selfish mistakes, AS WE ALL HAVE. Then we can have the redemptions that we all really want. For the average Joe, most Sorti characters seem beyond redemption. For me redemption implies forgiveness, and for the hard core Sorti criminals, forgiveness is too tough.

The true MJ keeps seeking into the madhouse.
And the true Bruno couldn't stay hiden for long. He wants MJ (all out of hate) and will force her if he feels Alex is getting to close.

It might not be hard for alex to leave with MJ b/c if Bruno is at the party and forcing himself on Mj maybe alex will come to her rescue and go along with her being Sandra long enough to get the hell out of there.

I think to best way to punish Maura for her part in MJ kidnapping is to have her sister die (sorry lissette)and have alex hate her (b/c once MJ gets her memory back alex will know she was a part of the kidnapping).

Elena and the dr. needs to be give the same drug that MJ is taking and told that Raquel is their hija
and are forced to live with her.
 

I instant death is too good for Maura now see needs to suffer, one of Maura's main problem is thinking she is socially acceptable. Drop dead gorgeous and totally irresitable to the male population.

When she was dating Alex she thought it was a matter of time before they would be announcing their wedding plans.

Along came MJ who inadvertently upset her apple cart unintentional on her part. Maura it's her ego and pride that are damaged as much as her so call love for Alex.

I would put her in jail for over twenty five years and let her socialize with some women who she thinks are so beneath her.

As a woman she may think well what does hr see in her i'm more pretty, and how could he choose her when we grew up together and hung out in the same social circles.

It doesn't work like that you can't control what another person considers attractive or unattractive it depends upon everyone's individual taste.

As smart as Maura seems to be she is very snobbish and one tracked minded in only wanting Alex.

Ebony: What you said about Elena and Jorge getting the mind altering drugs that they gave to SMJ and having Rotquel be their daughter and having to live with her made me laugh out loud. That would still be too good for them though.

Also a lot of people don't seem to think Victoria and Fernando belong together, but the way Fernando no-acts in this show (and also the way he no-acted in Querida Enemiga)I believe he is just an old soul at heart and I think that is exactly who he does belong with. He just doesn't act young at heart like someone his age would act.

Can't believe Bruno could be so stupid as to tell Vicky where he was.
 

Sandy, I so agree with you on Sorti. The list of characters that border on or are pure criminal are just out of whack. My fear is the writers may force "confessions" or turn arounds on characters as we near the end that us viewers just aren't going to buy. It will be forced just to wrap things up in a prettier bow. If they made it a more gradual process as they had Roberto, then you can see the character change and believe they truly want to be better. But we're almost to the end and Maura, Raquel, Useless (once he wakes up), Katia, Bruno, Elena and Dr. D are showing no remorse or desire to change. if anything, like Vivi pointed out, Maura is getting worse. (you would think her sister's condition would have led her to the light...but NO). At this point, I think oly Bruno and Dr. D will get the full blown "suffer for your crimes".

How many little cracks in the bad guys' plans happened in just this one episode?
1. Jorge and Elena talk about MariaJose, and she overhears the name.
2. SMJ hears about Ulises.
3. Bruno, when told MJ is back, instead of saying Thank goodness, says "Is she dead"?
4. Bruno says he's in Toluca.
5. Alex is now coming to the party.
6. And of course the scar!

So things are going to come out. But I think Jorge increased SMJ's medicine, so I think she'll find it harder to remember. If only she'd realize her mother and stepfather are lying to her, and stopped taking the pills.
 

Ebony, I also really like your punishment for Elena and Dr. Demented. However, the doc has to die.

Sandy and Daisynjay - ITA with you that so many of these characters have been so wretched its going to be hard to believe if they are redeemed. Many of them could be implicated in the kidnapping plot so that would be serious jail time (at we can hope).
 

Thanks for the reminder about the increased dosage of the memory erasing drugs Hombre. I was going to ask if I remembered that correctly. This will surely make things more difficult.
 

In my muddled brain I thought Victoria already knew that Bruno was in Toluca, don't know how that got into my gray matter. I don't think I have met Jorge. :)

Very eventful episode. Loved your list Hombre, I think you covered all the missteps perfectly. Hopefully, seeing Alex will trigger MJ's memories that are now bubbling to the surface.

Still curious as to what the final relationship between Roberto and Paula will be. Theirs is the most intriguing in the bunch.

Hombre love your list may i include when Emiliano talked about Ferdumbo coming to the fiesta and maybe coming with his boss Alejandro Lombardo. We all saw how quickly Elena looked over to see if this name registered with MJ.

I don't recall seeing a novela that had so many disagreeable and hard to like or tolerate characters in a story but this one is a fist for me.

I had to hit the mute button for Pedro scenes because i am so sick of him crying and woe is me attitude it's not even funny.
 

Daisynjay, I think we’re seeing more of MJ’s real personality now. She’s not scared, being looked down upon, or watching her step quite the way she was at the manse. She’s a little confused, but plenty spunky, as you said.

Anonymous, it might be kind of risky for Alex to just take MJ from the party. She probably wouldn’t cooperate, not knowing who to trust. That said, I wouldn't be too surprised if he tries to do just that.

Vario, if Bruno’s not at the party, we won’t get to see Alex go nuts when he see’s MJ with him. Maybe that will be later. That would be so TN.

It’ll be interesting to see what Alex’s next move is. He knows Jorge is demented, so he’ll be careful. He could call the police. That’s so not TN.

Lola, my friend whose mom is a doctor said you can close piercings pretty easily.

Haven’t really figured out the reason for the Lisette’s Leukemia plot. Is her demise going to be Maura’s punishment? Or is this a reason for Alex to feel sorry for Maura—hence be blind to her evil?

I don't remember what color Useless' eyes are, but aren't Alex's light brown? I'm going to look that up.

Beth i believe that's how they are using Lissette sickness to hide how evil and deranged Maura is, they want Alex to also feel sorry towards her.

When he confronted her in the hospital to get the exact details we all saw how frighten she was i think she would have broke down and told him the truth but Hernan interrupted them to tell Alex to calm down.

Lissette was seriously sick with Leukemia and that's why Alex has backed off and been sympathetic towards her.

As for Alex eyes a sexy Hazel caramel Brown bedroom eyes you can just drown in.

Useless i can't remember because i am either distracted by his shark like grin or those girlie t- shirts he's wearing.
 

Thanks for the recap Serendipitypb. So the plot is moving along rapidly. I'm not so sure now that Maura can be redeemed since she wished that MJ would die. I'm tired of Alex not putting the links together of Maura's involvement in MJ's kidnapping while he keeps holding her hands ugh. I was hoping that MJ didn't take the pill Elena gave her and would spit it out. So John the investigator got the heck out of dodge even though he didn't do much. Just because "MJ" showed up doesn't mean that the investigation is over. Thanks for nothing John. At least Alex now knows that that isn't MJ lying the hospital bed and is Sandra.
 

Today I have the following admonitions for our Sorti characters:

Pedro, you KNEW Elena was in Toluca??? El Smurf you are a small, small man.

Alexander (I have taken to calling him by his whole name as I did to my kids when they dospleased me) I know you have been to the school of Emote-a-lot Acting, but your tantrums and outbursts are totally uncalled for. Slamming your hand on the guerney may be satisfying but it does not give me confidence in your ability to retrieve your wife from the clutches of dark Dr. Mexican Mengele. Buck up, big boy. You have got work to do. And Sr. Levy, learn some new tools in the actor's repetoire. Cold anger, fury giving rise to determination is in order now. Emotional maturity would be an added blessing in your dysfunctional family.

Furthermore, you are still enabling Maura's bad behavior. Give me a kiss, my a$$. Hrmpfff
 

Uuuu0000oo, maybe Alex will KIDnap MJ! That would be sweet! Then the story would mirror the beginning of the telenovela. MJ not knowing her husband like Alex not knowing his "wife". And they are not legally married just like before. I see a 'no me tocas' coming. Lov it! I just love Zarratini's scripts. She is the Head Mistress of surprise and convolution. Now all I can ask of Zarratini is that she remove all rape plots from her scripts.
 

Elna June- Did Pedro say he knew Elena was in Toluca? I don't remember that. Other than perhaps when Roberto first asked him about the woman who looked so much like MJ who lived in Toluca. Don't remember if he told him that then. But, before that he didn't know where Elena had taken off to.

Vario, Julian Gil's eyes looked brown in all but one picture in which they were blue as the summer sky. Must have been colored in. I don't think much of his character or the actor, although he plays the part well. But, as a model, he's pretty hot. Amazing body and very photogenic. I think it's the shark smile that bugs me.
 

I think Ale has to be careful about rescuing SMJ. Very bad things can happen if he just rushes into a situation he knows nothing about.

In defense of Katia she has been at Lisette's side since she became ill She may not be the best company, but she seems to understand that people in that situation need company and support they can count on.

I did notice that when Ale walked into Maura's hospital room to visit he had his hands in his pocket. Classic rejection body language. He also intercepted her wandering hands.
 

Is anyone else as disappointed with Sortilegio as I am?

For example, why has the plot moved away from Bruno? I don't get it. Feuding brothers is a great setup, yet the Bruno character has faded to the background. Why? He's a riveting antagonist.

What happened? Did they bring in another writer halfway through who thought his plot was better?

Why wouldn't they have Bruno engineer the Mary Jo/Sandra conspiracy instead of that very boring band of unknowns who are somehow connected to that very unlikeable Ulysses?

Also (and maybe this is part of the reason I'm not enjoying Sortilegio as much as others), why do I have more trouble understanding the Spanish of Sortilegio than I have had w/ Destilando Amor or Fuego en la Sangre? I read along w/ Spanish subtitles but the language of Sortilegio is rarely as straight forward as it is w/ DA, for example. Is is trying to appeal to a different audience? Perhaps a more sophisticated or educated audience?

Am I overthinking this telenovela?

Nevertheless, I'm sticking with it to the end.

Have to say I haven't concentrated on the show as much lately as I did when first viewing. The whole kidnapping plot which put so much focus on Dr. D and Elena is driving me crazy. They get amazing screen time instead of the core characters we started with. And I agree, we may hate Bruno, but he's fun to hate and the actor has fun doing it.
I'm with you, have to stick with it, we're so close to the end. But like I said earlier, I will be very disappointed if we get short-changed on the wrap up plot lines and the writers don't respect the viewers who have invested in characters and plots. We know Alex and MJ will have their happy ending, but I don't know what to expect with everyone else. (So help me if Roberto takes back Raquel, I'll lose it.)
 

Previews in my area showed Alex wearing a hat to the party. I love hats on men. I only watched that naked bakers telenovela long enough to catch them wearing those glorious hats. But then they took off the hats too long and the rest was misery.
No party could ever measure up, for me, to the MEPS Arabian Nights party and THE wedding reception! ALL those family dinners were outrageously funny in retrospect.
Bring on tonights Barbeque. Hope Katia changed her mind and will attend.
 

I actually like the Dr. Demento and Elena plot. Plus I love seeing Sal from Gancho in this oh so different evil role. :) I was getting bored with Bruno and Team Mexitrash. Bruno's MO has always been to take other people's plots and take advantage of them or embelish them. That's just what he's done with the kidnapping. Plus, the writers must have planned the twin switch thing from the beginning since we (the audience) have known about Sandra forever now. Long before any of the good guys or Bruno found out.
 

Question. Do you think Sorti will be preempted tomorrow for the Hope for Haiti telethon that will be airing on most channels tomorrow?
 

For me the Dr. Demento plot is saved by two things: even while under the influence of the pharmaceutical mastermind, Jorge, MJ is no pushover, she is strong and really knows her own vacant mind, no Bruno for her! YEEEEEES! And.....the "chemistry" between Jorge and Elena is strangely interesting.

Can't wait to see how MJ reacts to Alex in that yellow plaid shirt and cowboy hat. I think that is a hard look to pull off for most men, but our William looked great!

Yes, EJ, William Levy would be making a terrible mistake by signing on for another "crying fiesta" novela. Won't it be interesting to see him in a completely different "vehicle", his first US movie!! I still think he is quite good. Part of being a great actor is the ability to steal scenes like Steve McQueen always did....Levy can steal a scene!

Daisy, I'm worried about a silly "wrap everything up in a pretty blue bow" ending as well....we'd better see some big anvils dropping pretty soon.
 

Sandy- I also like MJ as SaMJ too. As MJ, she was always burdened by wanting to protect the people she loved and being constantly worried about them. Now, she only has herself to worry about (although she is growing very fond of the abuelo) and can go into self preservation mode- her happiness, her needs, etc. It definitely makes her more spunky, even through her confusion of not knowing who she is and being told horrible things about her past (drug use and promiscuity).
 

Sandy i disagree i rather see William crying in another novela than 49 or 50 year old Eduardo Yanez in tight fitted horse riding pants hair extensions added to his natural length prancing around like he suppose to be a young twenty year old pirate.

I do wish William good luck with his movie, and hope after it ends he comes back to novela land.
 

Oh, that was the thing I wanted to point out. When SaMJ asks Elena about Useless and whether he was her boyfriend, Elena tells her he wasn't her boyfriend, but she probably slept with him like she slept with so many other men because she was promiscuous! I could have slapped Elena right then. What a horrible thing to make someone believe about themselves.
 

Anon: I completely agree on the Levy/crying vs Yanez/extentions,prancing, tight pants thing. I sound like I have worked for MGM...I haven't. I just think that his career would be better served with a less emotional role next time, novela or movie!!!!!
 

Vivi: I agree, to tell your DAUGHTER that essentially she has slept around when she was virginal, unforgivable! Plus, how does that type of cruelty help in the "MJ standing in for Sandra" plot?

Sandy when i saw the promo for CS last night i couldn't believe it i kept saying are they for real and armed with the knowledge that this the same guy who produced FELS too.

I will not be sticking around for his next masterpiece, here's a question since it's not doing well in Mexico if it doesn't do well over here also. Do you think Univision would pull it from that spot?

As much as you FELS watchers lambasted that novela i have to believed it got good ratings to stay in it's time slot.

Oh good grief, someone is going to hijack my telenovela beanie hat & burn it after I say this,,, but the only way I would watch CS'09 is if it is such a circo that it ends up a howling success here in the U.S., and I am forced to keep an open mind and give it a try. (highly unlikely, as it is tanking in the mother country)CS'93 is the best.

However . . . given that it is a Mejía 'novela, I have my doubts that will happen. Now that I've joined Club Gancho & the AARP Crowd, I have...ummm.... better choices.(grins) And maybe Hasta Que will be watchable after Sorti. There's enough on American English TV right now, that's for sure. I can't wait for the Olympics and curling!!!

Doris to compare the latest masterpiece from Mejia is not better than watching the Olympics and curling surely you are unjust in your thinking.

I would rather sit in my backyard and watch the grass growing for Spring and Summer before i watch something like CS.LOL.
