Sortilegio, Monday, February 15--Ep #89: El viejo Porfirio goes out with a bang.

Jorge announces to his clinic staff, which apparently consists of one shady-looking guy in a lab coat, and one nurse, that they've got some serious financial problems at the moment. He says they can't close, so they have to get Porfirio to put a clause in his will that will say that the clinic has to stay funded. Jorge wants these two to witness the clause.

Porfirio signs his will in the presence of lawyers, or so I assume, just as Jorge's posse approach the door. Isaias announces that Jorge, Elena, Dr. Skeezy and Nurse Weak-willed are there to give him a checkup. Porfi is annoyed, but asks Isaias to walk the lawyers out. They go out by a different door than the one Jorge came in and Jorge's posse don't see the lawyers leave. Perhaps this will be significant later…one hopes! Porfi greets his unwanted guests and tells them not to blow smoke…he doesn't think they give a rat's culo about his health. He supposes that since he's no longer supporting the clinic financially, they must hate him. Porfi leads them all back to his bedroom. Jorge orders Isais out and tells Porfi to let the order stand, since they need to talk about MaryJo. Once Isaias leaves, Jorge pushes Porfirio into a chair at his desk and says he needs to write out a new will leaving them half of his money…"We're not so greedy." Porfi says he'd rather die first. Jorge motions to Elena, who hands him a pillow. And then she has the gall to look freaked out when Jorge uses it to start smothering Porfi. Jorge lets up after a while and tells Porfi if he doesn't do as he says, he will die. Porfi agrees to do it, but says it's going to surprise everyone that he changed his will at the last minute. He guesses that Jorge will drug him and kill him, so really, what does he have to gain? He's going to die anyway. The other doctor and Elena both look worried.

Emiliano approaches the house. When Isaias announces who all is with Porfirio, he gets suspicious.

Jorge now threatens to harm MaryJo or the baby if Porfirio doesn't do it. Elena comes up behind him and very gently says that even if he wanted to warn them, an accident could happen to them at any time. Porfirio says he'll do it. He starts writing, but the pen is out of ink. Jorge gripes and asks the other doctor for a pen, leaving the desk. Porfirio reaches into a cubbyhole and pulls out a gun. I have to pause and cheer for Porfi. I don't even know what's going to happen at this point, but I'm just glad that he's fighting back. Porfi points the gun at Jorge and shoots him in the chest.

Isaias and Emiliano hear the shot and come running, but the door is locked.

Elena goes over and turns Jorge over and puts her hands over the bloody hole. Porfirio yells at the other doctor to open the door. Emiliano and Isaias come running in and Porfirio tells them to call the cops on those miscreants who thought they were smarter than him. Haha! Elena begs him not to and Porfirio laughs a laugh worthy of a villain. He says he wanted to see her begging. Emiliano tries to take the gun away, but Porfirio keeps laughing and won't let him. Porfirio ends up crying and collapses. Emilio tells Elena that they killed Porfirio and they'll pay. Isaias ends up holding the gun on the doctor and nurse.

Vicky didn't exactly enjoy seeing Fernando with his new girlfriend, but she supposes the other girl is better for him. Felipa isn't buying it. Felipa keeps calling her a "pera" (pear) instead of a "terapeuta" (therapist). She mocks Vicky and says she's taking work away from Cupid, putting couples together like that. Vicky tells her to cut it out. She goes into not being able to offer Fernando a "family" (hey, lady, having kids isn't the only thing that makes a family, and even so, having biological kids isn't the only way to do it) or the opportunity to grow old together. Felipa says you can't spend all your time thinking about the future, life is happening right now.

Alex and MaryJo are enjoying life. He carries her into the bedroom. She says she's all his…or at least she doesn't remember wanting anyone else. Ah, amnesia humor. Alex says now she's his wife and they're married "for real." The phone rings, but she begs him not to answer it. Alex says he should see who it is--Ezequiel will be busy cleaning up downstairs. It's Emiliano. He says a tragedy occurred and Porfirio died. Alex offers condolences. Emiliano says Elena and Freddy Krueger did it. He says the bodies are being taken away now for autopsy. He asks if MaryJo will come to the funeral. Alex says he will and they'll see each other there. Alex passes on the news to MaryJo. He doesn't yet answer her question of "how?"

The cops question Elena. She says they were just there to talk Porfi into giving back the money. She says that Jorge got desperate and tried to pressure Porfi and Porfi took out a gun and killed him. The cop asks if she wasn't aware of Jorge's intentions and she denies it. But the cop doesn't look like he's buying that. I wonder what the doctor and nurse are saying.

Ah, same cop, now questioning the other doctor. He says that Krueger was like a God to them, he was brilliant. The cop says they knew what they were doing. The doc says that Krueger talked about "convincing" Porfirio, but he (doc) got scared when Elena handed Jorge the pillow and Jorge used it to suffocate Porfirio. And the reason he didn't do anything to stop it was cause he was paralyzed with fear. The cop confirms that Elena gave Jorge the pillow to suffocate Porfirio with. Now the doc says that he didn't think Jorge was going to kill Porfi…just scare him a little, yeah. He has no idea what would have happened if Porfirio had refused to change his will.

Alex tells Vicky he doesn't know exactly how Porfi died. MaryJo cries and gets a hug from Vicky. She says her mom was arrested. Alex forgoes his honeymoon and says if MaryJo wants to go see about her mom, he's ok with it. MJ says she wants to "after all, she's my mother"…what the hell has that got to do with it? Honey, animals who eat their young have more maternal instinct than that woman.

Fernando gets tucked in to bed by Irene. Katia and Sami lounge about in bed with him. Katia says he really needed a younger woman. The phone rings and Irene answers. It's Emiliano, passing on the news. Fernando is concerned about Emiliano. Emiliano is really upset. His best and only friend died. The funeral is the day after tomorrow. Fernando wishes he could be there, but Emiliano says it's ok. He understands that Fernando can't be there, but he at least wanted to tell him and talk a little. Fernando says once he can walk, he'll go see Tio. Katia asks if Emiliano wants her to go. He refuses. Right now he just wants to be alone. He doesn't want to talk to anyone. Awwwwwwwwwwww.

Roberto reports that the Brazilians looooove the project and they want to start right away. Alex thinks this can revitalize the company. Roberto says they need to transfer 200 million pesos to an account, then the Brazilians will double it and they can all get started. Alex calls their account exec at the bank to let them know that Roberto is going to be making a transfer. Alex doesn't think the transfer will be a problem. They have an arrangement with the bank to move millions in smaller chunks. Alex tells the account exec the transfer order will be on its way soon. Alex says once the accountant is back, in two or three days, they'll make the transfer.

Maura calls the bank, claiming to be MaryJo's assistant, asking if her permanent checks are ready to be picked up. She tells Bruno that the checks are ready to be picked up tomorrow. Bruno tells her to offer to go with MaryJo to pick them up and he'll take care of making sure it will be possible to make the transfer. Maura is hesitant, but not hesitant enough.

Bruno calls and asks Roberto how the Brazil business is going. He's thrilled to hear that it's going to be so many millions and that Alex already called to let the bank know they'd be making such a big transfer. Bruno says he'll be in touch. Have they not already sent out a memo that says "Don't give Bruno any information about how the company is doing?" No? How about "Don't let Bruno in the building unless he's escorted by security and attending a scheduled board meeting?" Maybe somebody should get on that?

Porfirio's funeral. There aren't a ton of people there. Several of them look like they're his staff.

MaryJo visits Elena in jail. She asks why Elena did it. Elena's excuse is "Jorge made me do it." MaryJo isn't interested. She also doesn't want to hear about how Jorge is also dead. She asks what the cops have told her. Elena says she'll get a public defender. She cries and asks for MaryJo's help. She says she's sorry for abandoning her, but she fell in love. MJ's not interested in talking about that. She says they need to make sure that she pays a fair penalty, so she'll ask Alex to have his lawyer to do what he can. She lets Elena take her hands, but we don't see her face to see how she takes it.

The next morning Maura makes the call to MaryJo and tells her that her checkbook is ready to be picked up. She suggests that she swing by MJ's house and get her to sign a permission slip and then Maura will pick up the checkbook for her and give it to her later. MaryJo thinks that's silly. Maura politely insists, then suggests, "If you prefer, I'll come get you and we'll go together." MaryJo flashes back to Maura picking her up on the day she was kidnapped. MaryJo says she'll meet Maura at the office and they'll leave from there. Please, someone, think this is unnecessary. The bank is right across the street from the office. Please, just let MaryJo change her mind and pick up the darn checks herself.

No such luck. Maura offers to inspect and count MJ's checks while MJ signs the paperwork. She highly suspiciously gets up from the desk, turns her back to MJ and the bank officer, and calls Bruno to tell him she has what they need. She asks him for the millionth time if he's sure. Bruno says he'll take care of the rest and she shouldn't worry her pretty little head about it.

Alex's lawyer calls Alex and tells him that there is very little chance of Elena going free. We don't hear why. Alex asks what else they can do. Hey, come on, MJ said fair punishment, she didn't say "get her off."

Erick screams at Bruno for leaving him behind. Bruno uses Maura as an excuse. Erick asks about his money. He wants it tomorrow! But he hurts himself screaming about it. Bruno tells him to chill and reminds him, and the cousin's wife, that if he goes down, they're all going down. Bruno leaves. Erick has to remind the cousin's wife why they're all going down--the truck, the suborning of Gabriel and Meche to get Paula in trouble. The cousin's wife doesn't think it's fair for Bruno to do this to them. Erick says Bruno doesn't know the meaning of fair. He'd really like to make Bruno pay.

Lisette came back from DF and didn't even bother calling Maura to pick her up from the airport, knowing that Maura doesn't really care about her. She's feeling really good about helping Lety and Maura is as disinterested as always. Lety gets a call from Sergio and she's all flustered. She agrees to go out with him, just so he can thank her for helping Lety, of course. Maura gripes about him being a little nobody. Lisette blows her off.

MJ tells Pedro that Elena is in jail. Paula's glad, "That's what she gets!" Pedro reminds Paula that she's talking about her mother. So does Chucho. He says regardless of what your parents do, you ought to be grateful just that they brought you into this world. Well, fine, she can be grateful for being alive and also think her mother is a lousy creep, what's wrong with that? MaryJo is feeling pity for Evil Mommy knowing that she's going to jail. Pedro remembers what jail was like and how alone he felt, with nothing but his guilt to keep him company. Well, good, I say. She has at least that coming.

Vicky is still trying to convince Raquel to go to rehab. Raquel thinks it's no big deal, especially now that Vicky has custody of Little Vicky. Vicky reminds her how hard it is to stay sober and she doesn't think it's a good idea to wait for something to send her back to the bottle. Raquel says she'll go back to rehab tomorrow. Vicky thinks it will be a quick rehabbing, given that Raquel hasn't had a drink in a while. Vicky fills Raquel in on how Roberto is doing. Raquel cries, saying she wasted her life. Vicky says there's always a way to fix your mistakes. She points out how the baby is looking at Raquel and says she needs Raqui. Raquel takes her for a little while, but she doesn't really know what to do with her. She tries saying hi and she gives her a kiss.

Alex tells MaryJo that Porfirio left her money. He supposes that since Porfi left it to "Maria Jose Samaniego" it means that Porfirio knew she wasn't really his granddaughter and that he didn't care. MJ balks at taking the money. Vicky reminds her that she can always accept it and then give it to charitable organizations. MJ says maybe she could give it to the indigenous community (you know, the ones from way back, from the project that Fernando kept taking Vicky to?) Maybe this means she remembers that she was supposed to be doing something to help with that project? How likely is it that it would have come up in the midst of all the other information they gave her about herself?

Night falls. Bruno comes to Maura's office. Maura, like an idiot, logs him in on her computer. He takes MJ's checking account number from Maura and asks her how much to transfer…20, 25 million? Maura leaves it up to him and he opts for 25. Bruno says he'll erase the history from her computer. And for good measure, he gives her computer a virus. What are the chances that plucky Pau will end up being the one to dig out the information? Maura is hopeful that by tomorrow, like Bruno says, everyone will think that MJ embezzled money from the company to try to help out her loser dad. Bruno says from now on, it doesn't matter what happens, if she ends up in jail, too bad. Maura says if that happens, Bruno won't get her, so what was the point? To piss off Alex. Again. Bruno starts crying as he says "He didn't just take away MJ. He always got what belonged to me…my part of the inheritance, the presidency, my parents' love, everything. But he'll pay, with interest. I can watch him suffer as his little wifey gets sent to jail." Seriously? Crying? I don't care, man, I'm not going to feel sorry for you when that piano falls on your head. Bruno smashes his glass on the coffee table. As I'm typing this, Mr. 5ft opines, "Poor Bruno and his persecution complex. If it wasn't for his persecution complex, no one would be out to get him." From the mouths of people who don't understand Spanish.

Lisette is all disco-queened out for her date with Sergio. I dig the gold head scarf to coordinate with all the yellow and gold in her outfit. Sergio brought her roses and some kind of present. He asks if she's ready for dinner, but she invites him to have a drink with her first…just the one for her, though. He tells her she's obviously recovering well…or at least she's looking good. Awww. That's sweet.

Alex asks MaryJo if she still wants another house. MJ think its getting a little sparse around there, with Bruno and Raquel being gone, or soon to be. She doesn't want them to leave the house that Alex's dad built for him. Alex pulls out a picture of Big Tony and says even after 18 years, he still misses his dad. MaryJo does want to buy a house for her dad and a car for Paula. Alex agrees. He asks what about a present for him…hm? She comes up with a suitable idea for the man who has everything and to whom she is at least married in the eyes of the law. Drat, that's all we get, though.

Next morning, Raquel says goodbye to Alex and asks him to wish her luck. Alex says they'll all be waiting for her when she gets out. Raquel thanks MJ for being there and asks her forgiveness for always being so rude. She realizes that MJ makes Alex happy. MJ tells her not to worry about it…it's already forgotten. Ah, more amnesia humor. Raqui hugs Alex again and then leaves with Mom. MJ feels bad for Raquel, but Alex says it was time, and at least now she's doing it of her own free will. Alex says he needs to go to work. MJ says she'd like to go visit her dad and have a nice, long talk. Maybe if he tells her more about her life, she'll remember. MJ distracts Alex with kisses, even though he keeps saying he has to go to work. I know, sister. It doesn't work for me either.

Mr. 5ft and I are having a moment of beanie slippage, here. For me, I have a problem with Bruno transferring the money to MJ's account and that's it. It's her company, so who, realistically, is going to press charges? Plus, if the money is still sitting in her account, all she has to do is put it back. Alex isn't suddenly going to think she's lying when she says she has no idea how it got there. For Mr. 5ft, the issue is that it doesn't matter if Bruno wiped out Maura's computer, the bank's computer still knows where the request came from. He also finds Pau as tech support improbable, but he also thinks she'll end up getting the info out of Maura's computer. So, will this be another of Wile E Bruno's stupid plans that just fizzles, or is this the one that will work until someone steps in and saves the day?

Vicky and Roberto drop Raquel off at rehab. The doctors remember her. Raquel is concerned about phone privileges. The doctor tells her that since she's not coming in in a crisis state and she hasn't had a drink in a while, they'll let her make calls. Roberto wants a word before they take her to her room. The doctor and Vicky leave to sign papers. Roberto puts his arm around her and says he wishes he could stay there with her to cheer her on every day. Raquel says she doesn't deserve it. She hasn't been a good wife. Roberto says neither of them were good to each other, they just got into a bad cycle of trying to get revenge on each other because their lives didn't turn out the way they wanted. Roberto says he was only thinking about himself. Raqui says it was also her fault for not giving him a child and having one with someone else. Well, enough blame, says Roberto, "I just want you to know that I'm always here for you, whatever you need." Roberto figures it's never too late to start over, and at least they know their mistakes and how to fix them. Raquel agrees and says that's why she's checking back in to rehab. Roberto tells her that if she wants to try again, he'll be waiting for her, and this time she can count on him to be honest. He kisses her on the forehead and wishes her luck. She gets halfway up the stairs and then turns around to blow him a kiss. OK, ok. I'm a sucker. I'm cool with them getting back together.

Maura is antsy that it's been days and no one has figured out anything's wrong yet. Haha. Bruno says to chill, the accountant only went back yesterday. She gripes that she can't even work since her computer is busted. Bruno tells her to just get tech support to come get it and bring her a new one. Maura doesn't want to risk them fixing it and finding out what happened. Bruno reminds her that in order to do that, they'd have to get into the deleted files, which were on the hard drive, which he toasted. So, she should chill. Maura is not chilling. And I think the music people want us to know that yes, Bruno is an idiot and someone is going to fix that computer and find out who moved the money. Let that be a lesson to you, boys and girls…don't listen to Bruno when he says "no one will know." And also, don't let people do crime on your computer. Tell them to use their own. This has been a public service message from the "Ok, be a criminal if you want to, but at least be smart about it" foundation.

The accountant visits Alex. He made the transfer to Brazil, but he also realized that someone took 25 million pesos from the company till. It would have to have been a partner in the company. He shows Alex the paperwork. He tells Alex that he'll have to find out where the money went and leaves to do just that. Alex supposes it was Bruno. He calls him on his cell phone and accuses him of embezzling. Bruno calls him crazy. He offers to meet Alex at "his" mother's house.

Maura tells the tech guys that she doesn't know what happened, it just stopped working. Maybe she got a virus from an email or something. The tech guy tells her not to worry. They'll figure it out, and in the meantime, here's another computer for her. Maura thanks them and they walk out. She gets a call from Bruno on her cell phone. He tells her that they've found the embezzlement and Alex is furious and suspects him. He assures her, yet again, that it can't be traced back to her.

Vicky tells Felipa that her editor has lined up a bunch of interviews for her and is moving up the release date for her book. She would have liked to wait for Raquel, but she's ok with it. Bruno comes in, Cuco barks at him, and Bruno yells at him. Felipa says "don't worry, dogs don't eat other dogs." Vicky rolls her eyes and says she wasn't expecting to see Bruno today. Vicky tells him that Raquel went back to rehab. Bruno says he's just there to see her and Alex wants to talk to him because he thinks he stole 25 million pesos. Alex comes in and tells Bruno to show his latest account balance. Bruno refuses and laughs at Alex. Vicky tries to say that maybe it's a bank error. Bruno says they do have new partners now…Maura, Maria Jose…. Alex gets a call from the accountant and goes into the "salón" to answer it. Vicky asks Bruno again if he's sure he didn't have anything to do with it. Bruno reacts predictably. "Come on, mom. He thought I kidnapped Maria Jose and I didn't do that, did I?"

The accountant tells Alex that the money went into MJ's account. Alex tells him there must be some mistake, so have the bank review the transaction. Again, I maintain that all they have to do is put the money back and wait for Bruno to start foaming at the mouth. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Only two days left, so they can't drag it out long!

Well, that's my last one for this show. It's been really fun, and even though it had its predictable spots, they at least changed enough to keep me from cursing them too long and they didn't do any stupid extensions.

I forgot to say that I'd like to raise a virtual shot of tequila in honor of Don Porfirio. And perhaps a real one some other night. Perhaps on a night when I really shouldn't, in order to make it more appropriate to honor our dear departed grouch.

Glad Roberto y Racq are gonna have a second chance; also happy for Lis with the new guy (he's cute).

Don Porfir - r.i.p.

Loved, loved Alex in his designer shirts.

Hi Kat,

Thanks for posting this. For some reason I didn't get an e-mail from Jane asking if I was going to re-cap this and so I didn't realize it was in question. Your re-cap was great - I had a lot of fun reading it. Tell me, do you think Felipa was winding Victoria up by calling Irena la pera, which sounds so suspiciously like perra? And I am pouring an actual shot of port into my ice cream in honor of Porfirio - he was one of my favorite characters and I bet he'd be ok with going out the way he did given that he was able to take the heart of darkness along with him.

If you did one anyway, you should post it! The more recaps the better. We just weren't sure if you were still trapped in your igloo or whatnot :)

Thanks, Kat! That was an extraordinary recap. I laughed and nodded the whole way through. I'm a sucker too, I'm glad Roberto and Raquel are going to give it another try.

As for Bruno...tisk tisk...can't wait until he gets caught.

RIP Porfirio. One of my favorite characters. MJ, why even try to help Elena...seriously she doesn't deserve a pinch of sympathy or help.

MJ distracting Alex was cute. Is she going to remember everything in the last episode? Andale writers...I want to see Maura go down too.

Kat:

Thank you very much for the many hours of pleasure you have given me with your recaps.

I'll raise a glass to Porfirio. He and Cuco were my very favorites in this TN. How utterly satisfying that Porfirio offed Jorge. What a way to go, Don Porfirio!

I am very sad for Don Emilio. He sounds like he feels so lonely.

Roberto and Raquel have a better chance together than many, I think. I applaud his commitment to honesty and I was happy that she held the baby and apologized to MJ for her previous behavior.

Those of you who have been at this TN thing a long time...Do we always need more beanie adjustments as we are in las ultimas semanas?

Bruno is about to have yet another failed scheme, I think, and this time maybe Maura will get caught in the act. We can only hope.

Good recap 5ft Latina. We no longer have to worry about the evil Dr. Jorge. Too bad Porfirio ended up biting the dust too. The Nurse and Elena looked spooked while Jorge was doing his attempted manipulation of porfirio. They might have fared better falsifying the will. Who knows? Maria Jose cannot really bring herself to hate her Mother because she is still blood despite what she had to go through. It is another story if it is someone not related to you. Chucho and Pedro are trying to teach Paula the virtue of forgiveness. I am more vengeful and vindictive if wronged, family or no family. But I can understand where they are coming from.

It seems like Maria Jose was in mourning for only a short time. I'm surprised She never introduced Paula after the gig was up and Porfirio learned about the whole thing.

When Raquel was speaking to her mother, her daughter was quietly reaching out to her in a touching moment. I thought that was nice and I try not to get into sentimental stuff. I'm glad that Raquel is turning her life around. It never really trully is too late. If it was, you might as well die. So, never lose hope.

I'm glad Roberto still cared for Raquel. He could have said she is no longer my problem, but they both made up for their self destructive behavior towards one another.

I'm with all of you regarding Bruno's desperate money transfer scam. That is a lot of work for nothing. And I too thought it would simly be too easy to return the money to the appropriate account. The issue is that now, it is public that the transfer was in Maria Jose's name, questions must be answered. People held accountable for the action.

If any of us were to actually do the same thing Maria Jose is being framed for doing, they can reverse the transaction and put the money back. But we will still face a lot of questioning and impending separation from the company. Plus charges since that is now a felony in US law. They won't just forget about the 'acct' of transfering the money.

I'm hoping that Maura will realize it is the end game and just decide to tell Alex what Happened because she realizes that it is a losing cause, a lost war. She will have to pay her debt to society, but I don't want her to die.

Will Katya be the one to finish off Bruno? He is now living on Borrowed time. Perhaps Erick and Bruno will end up killing each other. That seems to be the only way. We can forget about Gabriel actually doing something. He does not have the guts, besides he is out of town.

Just thought of another scenario for Bruno's downfall. Literally. MAybe he will steal the helicopter and try to fly the thing, but he never took flying lessons, presumably that is. And he will crash the chopper somewhere in the mountain and it will explode.

Another thing about the money transfer. Motive. Maria Jose owns most of the money per the divorce. I don't know if that was reversed after the civil wedding. Another thing is she just got her inheritance, so there really is no need to acquire the funds. We may yet see the end of Bruno on Tuesday and just Wedding and filler on Wednesday.

Ibarramedia

Bruno is trying to spin the story that MJ embezzled the 25 mil. pesos to help out her father.

But, he does NOT know she just inherited Porfirio's entire estate; thus, MJ has no motive to steal 25 mil from Lombardo Inc (which is majority her company anyway) when she just got probably 25 mil. pesos from Porfirio's estate.

Bruno & Maura don't know that little tidbit, and that will be what alerts Alex, Fernando and/or Roberto to the frame up.

Paula will be the one who discovers that it all came from Maura's computer.

LOVED the foreshadowing of Maura behind bars when she was talking to Bruno. The other night she was in the brown jumpsuit.

Thanks Kat i always enjoy your recaps so much. Thanks also for doing the recap for Mujeres Asesinas 2.

I will Porfirio but thank god he took out Dr. Demented before he passed away. How horrible is Elena to say with her husband that will hurt MJ and baby Tony.

What happen to Dr. Demented declaring he would never take a life he's a Dr. afterall.

I hope Elena never gets freedom, it time for MJ to cut those ties real quick whether her full memory has returned or not.

Methinks Pimp Daddy E was a tad bit upset no, it seemed like he was in a rage and dumb Bruno kept egging him on not very smart at all.

Pobrecito Bruno you've lost MJ,your inheritance, the presidency and your parents love. Boo Hoo.

Parents love is the same parent your step dad that you hated on sight, also didn't want him anywhere near your mother. Is the same guy you called a dog and your mother a ramera when you found out that you were Antonio Lombardo's son too.

Wow you and Maura really do deserve each other with your delusions.

Two villains down three more to go Bruno,Maura and Pimp Daddy E.

Darn, this was too easy. I was sure Dr. Krueger would find a way to kidnap baby Tony and dangle him out the window in front of Porfirio until he changed his will. Likewise, the whole computer transfer thing is lame. This has not been a roller-coaster ride, more like a kiddie ride at the carnival. A+ for casting and chemistry and C- for plot.

Thank you Kat, I'm so looking forward to your recaps on CS. This one is winding up (or down) in true TN fashion. In order to get to the finish line, a bit of beanie adjustment is in order (especially over these lame bank transfer details), but I'm hoping for full gratification over the comeuppance of our villains. Krueger went down pretty good.

Raquel's stony glare really melted last night. I'm enjoying her & Rob's redemption.

And I agree "plucky Pau" is too much of a rookie to solve the 'puter problem after 6 months of voc/tech, but I'm sure she will triumph over our collective disbelief.

Kat, you always come up with such wonderful quips. The winner this time was Lissette being "all disco-queened out". Fabulous.

I'm with Ibarramedia. I was enthralled with that little Vicky who first kept looking up at Victoria and reaching out for her and then reached out repeatedly for Raquel.

You can't script those things. Babies don't take "direction"! But it was truly a magical moment.

Thank you to all the recappers. Make watching this TN much more enjoyable and you guys fill in a lot of stuff I don't understand.

My take on the money transfer thing is that supposedly MJ transfer money from the company account right? It is not her allotted dividend from the company profit so it'd look like stealing from the other company stockholders. It's like me being a co-owner of a house and not being able to use all equity w/o consulting the other owner.

Kat- Many thanks to you for a fantastic recap, as always. You and Mr. 5 ft are the Queen and King of snark. :)

Yeah, this maney transfer scheme will be Maura's downfall. That's how they're setting this up. But I don't agree that they can just put the money back. The company accountant now knows about this and I'm sure the other partners/shareholders/board members will quickly be informed and want an explanation. It doesn't matter if she's the majority holder and is super rich (that never stopped other people before from stealing- it's called white collar crime), MJ will still face some tough questions. But it will be resolved super quickly (kind of has to with 2 episodes left), and Maura will go down. And when she does, she will blab about everything she thinks or knows Bruno has been involved in.

Loved also seeing the baby looking at Vicky and Raq and reaching out to them. She looked like she was really paying attention to what they were saying and the sadness that was coming across, especially from Raq. I am also a sucker and like that Raq and Roberto have pledged to be there for each other and to be better to each other. Maybe some long phone calls over the months that Raq will be in rehab will go a long way towards rebuilding emotional intimacy between them. I'm satisfied with their ending.

Loved the way Porfirio went out, with guns blazing, taking Horrible with him! So, is MJ now the richest person in this novela? She has the majority of Lombardo wealth and now all of Porfirio's money. Wow!

Thanks Kat! You have been an utter delight! It is so great that Porfirio offed Krueger. Elena is such a skeeze, her begging was ultra-lame. She never even looked twice at Paula, why has nobody (not even MJ) wondered at that? Loved the redemption of Raquel - not very believable but my heart melted. Maura is a lousy, lousy actress. Like a cardboard runway model. Victoria is SUCH a drip. Hard to believe any guy would fall for her. But Fer is pretty drippy himself I guess.

IN APPRECIATION!!!!!!

to all the recappers, Tk you so much for helping to make the TN's even more enjoyable.

See you at Corazón.
After about a wk of it, I'm sure we'll REALLY miss Sortilegio & the young beautiful WL.

Thanks for the recap Kat. Things are moving quickly now. I still don't feel sorry for Elena. Too bad, so sad. When Jorge was smothering Porfirio did any of those people try to stop him? No. So they are all up sh!t creek if you ask me.

I kind of hope Pimp Daddy E gets some redemption. I don't think he's bad deep down. He is just influenced by money.

I thought Raquel and Roberto were touching. I believe he still loves her.

“Porfirio goes out with a bang”, thank goodness he managed to nail old Kruger as he ascended toward the heavens....now we don’t have to worry about him anymore..just Elena, ugggg. Thanks Mrs. AND Mr. 5 ft for all your delightful Sorti recaps and some of the best snark around!

Speaking of goodness, accusing MJ of stealing money is ridiculous. She is the ONE person in the novela who isn’t capable of embezzling. She isn’t materialistic, plus she needs help just getting an ordinary business bank account set up. We need four beanies, four sets of foil lining, soap suds, several drinks and a pear floating in jello.....EACH, to swallow that one.

I caught the sudden memory of the indigenous people project as well, I think that was a slip up with the writing. Speaking of writing, I am getting more and more interested in Anon’s comparison of Sorti with Tu o Nadie....

I’m OK with the concept of Roberto and Raquel getting back together, but didn’t he just tell Paula that from here on out, he was going to be more honest, implying honesty about his bisexuality? Maybe that interpretation is just a hitch in my Spanish skills.

Ibarra, like you, I thought the baby scene was wonderful. It must have been hard for both actresses to concentrate as the baby stole the scene. Chantal has a new baby in real life, she must have wanted to take that little hand and squeeze it, I know I did.

YOU’RE GOING DOWN BRUNO! Haaaaaaa

Is Wednesday's show going to be 2 hours? Does anyone know?

Kat, wonderfully snarky recap of a wickedly wild episode! As always, many thanks.

Two comments, loved, loved little Vicky looking at Raquel and reaching out to her. Little Vicky and Tiny Tony have got to be the cutest babies on TV!!

Re. MJ's memory, in addition to the indigenous project, when she was telling Alex she was going to buy her Dad a house and Paula a car, she said it was because Paula has always dreamed of having a car!! How does she know that if her memory isn't back yet???

Once again to Kat and all the Sorti recappers and commentators, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this telenovela watching a true fest!!!

CubsFan

PS. Connie, according to my TV guide, the Wed. gran finale is only one hour.

Sandy you'll only have tonight and Wednesday i'll give you guys my comparison then. As for the MJ transfer of money well the problem with Bruno and Maura is that they think everyone else thinks like them.

Yes like someone mention a board meeting will probably be called to explain the transaction that took place. Alex knows how MJ is concerning money and that she doesn't know something that complicated on how to transfer that amount of money.

You saw the look on his face when he was told the money had been transferred into her account, no way does he believe that and since little miss delusional desperate chick went with MJ when she got her checks. Mauron is going down.

They will still find the transaction on her computer virus or not, stupid Bruno should have checked with a computer expert first but he thinks he knows it all.

MJ's memory isn't totally back yet, but she has been remembering little by little. Bits and peices. She's rememebered where she used to work in Saqui- she was telling Pedro about it when Elena came to the casa. She remembered her and Alex planning the church wedding, she's now even remembered part of the kidnapping day. Also, the day she went to lunch with Emiliano, Fer and Vicky and Alex, Emiliano was telling her about the indigenous project. Lots of time has passed, so I'm sure she has been having conversations with people and getting tidbits from them offscreen. She and Paula have spent tons of time together and I'm sure Paula has told her about some of her hopes and ambitions.

Good lord Vivi! I was just going to say the same thing regarding Maria Jose's memory gradually coming back. We're on the same page here. I just want to add too that since she is not taking the memory erasing drugs anymore, sheo would gradually regain her memory. The good DR. Hernan said so himself. Alejandro's IT security guy and team are already on the move moments after Bruno's scheme. I don't think it will be Paula who solves alll of it,The It guys will.

Bruno's downfall will start tonight at the end of the hour and continue on Wednesday at the beginning of the hour. Maybe Erick and Bruno will cancel each other out.

Ibarramedia

You know what they say about great minds Ibarramedia... ;-)

Alex knows facts that Bruno and/or Maura don't know he knows:

a) Maura took MJ to the bank to get her accounts set up

b)MJ just inherited Porfirio's large estate. That money plus her majority ownership in Lombardo Inc. means she doesn't need to steal money to help Pedro.

c) Alex was standing right next to MJ when Maura called to take her to the bank to finish setting up her accts and getting her account nubmers.

d) Paula works in the Lombardo Inc. IT department. She's going to catch wind of Maura's computer being messed up and tell Alex about it.

When all this is discovered, Bruno IS going to throw Maura under the bus and she's going down because the transfer happened on her computer and both Alex & Paula know Maura was taking MJ to the bank to get her accts set up. Maura will probably start screaming and shrieking as the policia drag her away, which will trigger a kidnapping flashback from MJ. Maura will also be locked up for the kidnapping. Not a spoiler, just how I see things going down.

Behind bars, Maura will then spill the tea on Bruno:

*Mario Aguirre

*the kidnapping of MJ

*Framing of Useless for MJ's kidnapping (which will lead to the police suspecting Bruno of Useless' murder)

*Date rape & sex tape of Katia

*Murder of Mateo & Co.

Also, the original Alex assasination plot has to come out along with the murder of the judge but I don't know who's going to bring that up.

Maura already told Alex about the Mario Aguirre plot a long time ago because she didn't want Bruno to blackmail her over it at the time.

Maura should have taken Bruno up on his offer of marriage, they are so well suited for each other in their delusions it's not even funny.

Thank you for the recap, Kat, and thank you, thank you, for ALL the recaps you've given us. What great snark. A big shout-out to Mr. 5-ft, too.

Maura could say her computer got the virus from Univision's web site. Ha!

Ayyy Porfirio. Q.E.P.D. I liked him and wanted him to stick with us. I'll nominate him for sainthood because he took out Jorge.

I saw the ad where CS begins on Monday. What is being broadcast in this time slot on Thurs. & Fri.?

Did Maura know about the Judge? I just don't remember. It seems so long ago.

Doris, maybe Maura and Bruno gave their computer virus to the Univision website.....ha!

Premios music award show on Thursday and Friday a possible repeat of the Grand Final.

I don't know if Maura knows unless Bruno told Pimp Daddy E who was being paid by Maura to tell her everything Bruno is up to. I don't think Bruno told Erick though.

Thx to all the recappers for a great job. I have really enjoyed this show not just for the characters but b/c of the job that the recappers have done so, thanks again.

i dont think they need the computer to implicate Maura since she would have needed a password to enter the system and thats not just on her cpu. Shouldnt be hard to track who made a transfer at night since the system would have recorded the time of the transaction.

? during the kidnapping MJ was wearing the bracelet Pedro gave her I'm sure Elena would have taken this since it was a reminder of her past but Ive seen MJ wearing this in the last couple of eppies. Whats the deal is my memory wrong and she wasnt wearing it during the Kidnapping.

Cant wait for Bruno to go down.
i hope his punishment is to share a cell with Erik.

Maura is stupid!!. The definition of stupidity is repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Muara keeps doing what Bruno whats and expecting it not to fail. I hope she goes down for embezzelment and kidnapping since everyone else who was involved has covered their butt or is dead except for her.

Elena may she rot in jail b/c her giving the pillow to DR. D made her an accomplice to attempted murder. I still hope Mj finds that picture (the one Maura took b/4 the kidnapping of MJ and the baby) at Elena's house proving all along that she knew Mj wasnt Sandra.

P.S I now hate snow after being snowed in for a week in Va. while my family in Ga. was free to come and go and didnt even require a jacket. Oh the inhumanity!!

Hopfully we have seen the last of snow for this winter.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected about the Judge Anon. He was kind of like "Old Dude Down the Hill" from MEPS.

I would like to thank all the Sorti recappers on the magnificant job you all have done. I think I enjoyed the recaps as much as the Novela, if not more, due to the way the recappers presented their synopses of the episodes. Also, the way all the commenters disected the episodes, was hillarious. I am a therapist and I probably learned much by the comments made regarding each episode. Thank you all and look forward to being part of the recaps and comments of Corizon Salvaje (not sure it it was spelled right). Ret

I thought that Bruno knew about Maria Jose getting Porfirio's inheritance despite NOT being Sandra. Isn't that the reason they were scrambling for all kinds of ideas shortly before the crazy money transfer scam.

Ebony, Insanity not stupidity. The definition of INSANITY is repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.

I do get your point though. I don't care what happens in the end but Bruno must die a horrific death. He must die a thousand times. He will also be publicly disgraced forever more by having all the print and tv media cover his crimes and it will be known in all of Mexico. So it is, So it shall be. ;)

Ibarramedia

And his precious scarves taken away from him.

Ibarra,

You are the best with the death senarios, yet you have a bit of a tender heart, noticing the babies and being sad about the way Babs went down in MEPS.... You bring a unique twist to our little home away from home, Caray, Caray. All the guys bring something different and special to the table....

You can tell it is the end, I'm getting sappy!!!

5Ft, and all the recappers, you've been awesome for those of us middling Spanish watchers. You have our profound thanks.

Sad that Porforio also had to diem but at least justice was served on Dr. Demento. when I heard that Porforio had put MJ in his will at the beginning of that scene, I took a sigh of relief knowing whatever happened, the Bobsey Twins weren't going to get a dime.
May Elena rot in jail.

as for Bruno and Maura...not too tech savvy are they? The transaction can be traced back to the computer that initiated the transfer...so they are pretty much toast.

It's a cheap bracelet; Elena probably didn't think it had any significance.

Maura might know about the judge if Erik told her when she paid him.

Erik's cousin needs his comeuppance too because he drove the truck that ran Alejandro down.

I wonder if last night was the last we saw of Elena, or will they say how many years she gets in jail. The police still don't know Elena's role in the kidnapping and brainwashing of Maria Jose, and she's also a bigamist.

I thought that Bruno knew about Maria Jose getting Porfirio's inheritance despite NOT being Sandra.

But does Bruno know that Porfirio has already died and the money given to Maria Jose? Bruno, Elena and Jorge knew Porfirio would end up giving the money to MJ but does Bruno know that transfer has already taken place BEFORE the money transfer?

Bruno does not know that first Porfirio left everything to MJ, and he's not slinking around the Lombardo house since he got kicked out.

Maura does not know because as we have seen throughout the novela when Bruno commits a crime he even lies to his accomplices most of the time. He lied to Maura about Useless.

If i remember correctly i think Erick did ask him about what had happen to the judge after he came back from D.R. he told him something like he couldn't catch up to him.

Ebony- When they dropped off Sandra on the Lombardo doorstep, she was wearing MJ's watch on the arm that was exposed when they had her on the couch. I am assuming they put the bracelet on the other arm- all the better to create the illusion that she was MJ. MJ has also been wearing the watch lately, so I assume they recovered those from Sandra before she was sent off to the hospital in DF where she died.

Katia knows he went to the DR looking for the judge, although he lied to her about the reason and also told her he had nothing to do with the disappearance of the judge. But that was back when she actually believed the things he said. Now that her eyes have been opened about him, she can also shed some light on Bruno's dirty dealings to the good guys and the cops. Not to mention finally fessing up to the cops that Bruno slept with her when she was a minor.

Thanks again for a stellar recap, Kat, and thank you for all your fun, snarky recaps! I also want to thank all the other devoted recaps of this very good novela.

Although none of the bad guys knows everything about the various evil deeds, together they know it all. So they might all start ratting out each other. I figure Maura is going to get accused of the money transfer, and she'll rat out Bruno. In return, Bruno will rat out her. Elena might rat out them both. Erik knows about the truck accident, and he might end up ratting out Bruno on that (if he doesn't kill him first). And Katia knows pretty much about the killing of the judge, although she can't prove it.

So probably everything will point to Bruno, and then he'll get desperate, and we'll have some dramatic conclusion.

I like the idea that someone suggested that when Maura gets accused, she screams out, and that triggers MJ's memory of the kidnapping.

BTW, I was also genuinely moved with the Raquel/Roberto reconciliation.

Tio & Vicky will console each other & probably end up happily para siempre.

This TN needed very few beanie adj, the biggest being the money transfer, makes no sense. With FELS I even had to replace my beanie, several times.

With their past history, Rob & Raq are the only ones that could end up together. Anyone notice Raquel's nose running while she held the baby, I think it even went on the baby's head.

Looking forward to the free for all we've seen in the coming events, maybe tonight. Katia was right in the middle of it.

I'm still predicting an Isadora Duncan death for Bruno, as he tries to escape in his little sports car. It has to be sth really bizarre.

Variopinta- I think the scenes they keep showing are the ones that have already passed. Have you seen new previews? What do they show? Are they on You Tube perhaps. I know the You Tube versions have previews from Mexico that they don't show us in the US.

Sandy- I thought about your question about Roberto's bisexuality. I don't think his possibly going back with Raquel has anything to do with his sexual preferences. He's bisexual, not gay. So, as long as he and Raquel both commit to having a committed, monogamous relationship, then they're ok from here on out. She now knows, so the honesty box has been checked off as far as that goes.

Hombre,

On the scream that triggers the memory of the kidnapping, MJ is so very sweet and forgiving, she'll probably just forgive the kidnapping! As they say, "That girl doesn't have a mean bone in her body!"

Sandy, chalk it up to guys generally being exposed to action movies and suspense thrillers, drama with some action and fisticuffs. It is almost second nature to us regarding the death scenarios. Not generalizing us guys though. But you ladies are more in tune to wedding dresses, fantasy couples and home decor or paint jobs of the house, kitchen ,rooms and whatnot. Being observant and attentive to detail, I notice them but pay it no mind. I'm more of like whatever. Not until you bring it up that I have a visual but again, never really paying attention to it. Never foucing on it.

Even the toughest of guys would be moved by the baby touching scene with Raquel and Victoria. You may not be human if that did not melt your heart.

I cared about Babs because I admittedly don't want bad things to happen to beautiful girls good or bad. I admit my bias there. And please do not pelt me with rotten eggs and tomatoes. Not chauvinistic, but more of a knight in shining armor. :) So you see where my feelings lie with the Sorti females. ;)

Ibarramedia

The closest thing to Bruno's smartest moves are not totally admitting every crime he has done to his accomplices. That will make law enforcement and the legal system work just a tad bit harder to prove he did it.

Ibarramedia

I don't think MJ's going to be so forgiving of Maura because she never liked Maura BEFORE the kidnapping/brainwashing. The cops will come in, drag Maura away screaming and it will trigger a memory of the kidnapping. MJ will then point to Maura as being part of the kidnapping and that's just one more charge added to Maura's list of crimes:

Kidnapping
Identity theft
Accessory to murder (getaway driver)
Sexual assault
Embezzling money from Lombardo Inc.

Bruno can be buried with his one true love, his scarf.

I also laughed @ Bruno crying yesterday. He could have had it all but he wanted on what Alejandro had instead of concentrating on what HE could have had.

He could have had MJ had he dated her as Bruno Albeniz & been honest with her.

He could have had presidency of Lombardo Inc. if he had only stayed in school and worked hard.

He could have had Antonio's love if he had only given Big Tony a chance instead of being hateful.

But he was too busy worrying about what Alejandro was doing instead of living his own life, and now it's time to pay up.

Anon, agreed with what you said about Bruno.

Ibarramedia

I agree with Hombre and others regarding the cream that triggers Maria Jose's memory of the kidnapping. It just makes perfect sense. I might add that I think she also saw Maura getting slugged.

Ibarramedia

Ibarro, awwww, it's ok, Lucero was just fine after she washed off all that burn plaster.

Vivi, about the free for all, I don't remember Katia being in one before.

Vivi;

I'm completely OK with the reconciliation of Raquel and Roberto. I was pleased to hear him mention that he knew that he had neglected her and she said that she was sorry that she had had a baby with another man. It really wasn't as much of a "little blue bow" as I had imagined, he went to work, arranged the great Brazilian deal and she went back to rehab. I have the blessing or curse to see things in a realistic way, and both of them have some big problems. I'm not sure how to interpret his "honest" comment to Paula, but if you think about it, he didn't know at that time that he would reconcile with Raquel. He won't have to be out and about and therefore "honest" about his preferences. At this point I think they are both committed to change and want happiness. They have the baby to love and focus on. Honestly, the scene with them at rehab was very moving and beautiful...

None of these characters square with what so many of us have "learned" when we watch the US self-help psychiatric shows...we just have to let that stuff go...

Ibarramedia, lol! Knight in shining armor, that's too cute.

Anon, I don't think MJ will forgive Maura either. Maura crossed the limits.

Sigh...Variopinta, I am gonna miss William Levy too. Two more days, and then WL withdrawl with Anon and Mrs. Imgallego. Boo hoo.

Kat: Thank you for this and for all of your amazing recaps, replete with your usual wit and humor. Wishing you and Mr. 5ft all the best!

Raquel stole the show last night. Her beautiful baby reaching for her and her touching scene with Roberto were both simply lovely.

Diana

Variopinta, not a spoiler since it has been shown here before. I saw the last episode of Pura Sangre and while it almost copies scene for scen stuff from MEPs or rather MEPS with Pura Sangre, there are a few differences and it is less episodes too so the action moves faster. anyway, Paulina the PS equivalent of Barbara from MEPS never burned herself. Babs had a more ghastly fate.

Thanks Cielo. Strong,Tough guys can also be nice, intelligent and loving. Not just meatheads you know.:) ;)

There are a lot of Real people who have more issues than Raquel and Roberto believe it or not. And they are able to turn it around. So no need for beanie there.

The ultimate beanie moment would be Bruno all of a sudden reconciling with Alejandro and all is good no charges are filed, he is the best man in the next day's wedding. No one gets killed or is imprisoned. And everybody is all smiles like it all never happened. I will be what?!?!?! Just like that. LMAO. Lol.

Do you think Chucho's nephew and Charlie will make an appearance? Those kids are the forgotten people. Shame on Chuicho to let him still live in abject poverty. ;)

Ibarramedia

Thanks so much, Kat, for this excellent recap. And to all the other recappers who've been so great and so snarky. At the beginning Sorti didn't grab me and I might have given it up. But it's too much fun reading the recaps and the comments.

Everything I thought about has pretty much been said. But I thought JB looked especially lovely last night. I liked her black dress with the gorgeous, elaborate necklace. I also liked the flowing blue dress she wore in the morning.

Oh, I will be really disgusted if they write in Alex's believing she took the money for even 5 minutes. That definitely does not seem in character for this man who is so deeply in love (and respect) with his wife.

Ibarramedia, haha!!! That would be ridiculous. Bruno, you tried to kill me, take my position as president, destroy Victoria's reputation, lie that little Tony was your son, break me and MJ up, steal MJ, blackmail Katia, blame MJ for embezzlement, but you know what, you are my brother after all. I forgive you.

OMG, I think I'd go into a state of shock if that happened. I can't stop LOL at the idea. :-)

Novelera, ITA. That would not be in sync with Alex's character. I don't think he'll believe that. I'm sure he suspects Bruno did it still.

Loved the recap 5ft. I was sad that Porfirio died but boy did he get evil Jorge though huh. Dr. Evil didn't know what hit him and Elena will probaby spend the rest of her life in prison. Bruno doesn't realize that MJ doesn't need to embezzle any money since she just got a huge inheritance from her beloved Abuelo. Let's hope it all gets resolved today since tomorrow is the big finale. I'm surprised Roberto is willing to try over with Raquel. That story seems to now be wrapped up in a nice little bow. So whose legs are those wandering aimlessly on the beach in the promos?

I would like to see Paula get like a bulldog with him and get in his face. I'm surprised Bruno has not hit her yet considering all the comments she said to him, getting smart and all.

We've discussed possible scenarios for Bruno. Crashing in the Helicopter, Crashing his sports car, being shot by Erik, jumping from a building after being surrounded. How about Shooting himslef in the head by gun or maybe Maura stabbing him, though she doesn't have the physical killing or fighting skills to do that. She's too prissy. I on't know....

Ibarramedia

We will see tonight if Alex will believe that MJ embezzled the money. From the look on his face, he wasn't buying it. The scene with Raquel, Vicky, and baby Vicky reaching for her was cute. Now that I've thought about it, it makes sense that Roberto and Raquel would work out their marriage. They both owned up to why it deterioated and are willing to give it another try.

Kat thanks so much for this recap and all of our wonderful contributions to us as well as the other recappers. Also thanks to the great group of bloggers here who make this blog so much fun.

I am also sad Don Porfirio died but he went out in a blaze of glory and took down Dr. Evil to boot.

Roberto and Raquel's reconciliation was very touching and little Vicky was simply precious.

As much as I'd like to see them throw away the key with Elena, what crime are they actually holding her for? We all know she's a bi!ch but can they really prove anything on her that's criminal?

Kat, thanks for another wonderful recap. I was happy that Porfirio took care of Dr. Demento, but sorry that it was at the price of his own life.
The scene with Raq and baby Vicki was really sweet. I was touched with her and Robert's reconciliation scene.
Now, for the really big anvils.
La Paloma

Elena's being held as a accomplice for attempted murder, once Maura is caught for her crime for embezzelment how soon do you figure she will rat out Bruno,Dr.Demented and Elena for the kidnapping of MJ too.

Thanks for the answer about Elena but did the doc's assistant, the nurse, and Elena all confess to being accomplices in the (sort of) attempted murder by Jorge? Did all three of them confess that they attempted to kill Porfirio? That's what's missing to me. There are no reliable witnesses and Jorge didn't kill him; he threatened MJ and baby when it didn't work to threaten Porfirio.

The assistant Doc said to the same officer who took Elena's statement he has know idea that they meaning Elena and Dr.Demented would use a pillow to suffocate and threaten Porfirio. It was not expected he said he thought they were just going to talk to him and convince to continue to support the clinic. He and the nurse were supposed to be witnesses to Porfirio making these changes in his will.

Elena did not tell the police that she helped and trying to forcibly coerce Porfirio to making the changes in the will. Porfirio was going to die anyway but the near suffocation and excitement from the whole incident was probably too much for him in his weak condition.

Also include how rich and it seems powerful he was i don't think Elena will be getting a get out jail pass anytime soon.

As much as I'd like to see them throw away the key with Elena, what crime are they actually holding her for? We all know she's a bi!ch but can they really prove anything on her that's criminal?

Attempted murder, for starters. The other doctor has already told the police that Jorge wanted to force Porfirio to change his will (fraud) and Elena gave him the pillow to smother him with.

So the cops will begin to question WHY Jorge/Elena were trying to force Porfirio to change his will. Emiliano will probably tell the cops about Sandra/MJ(kidnapping).

The cops have already questioned Elena about Sandra/MJ, and Elena fingered Useless. The cops already think Useless' death was strange. They will lean on Elena and try to put her away for the attempted murder of Porfirio, the kidnapping and Useless' murder and she will start to sing about Maura and Bruno.

Not to mention, if the cops really start digging they'll find she never divorced Pedro while marryng Cristobal & Jorge (bigamy).

Elena's not going anywhere any time soon.

Anon 4:37 said "Also include how rich and it seems powerful he was i don't think Elena will be getting a get out jail pass anytime soon."

That could be true but Maria Jose has resources too and Alejandro committed his attorney to Elena's case.

Anon 4:47, those are added charges to Elena. And in Mexico as we all learned in the MEPS final, Fraud is a criminal charge, not a civil issue like here. We expounded on it at great length with Jarocha and my extensive research on Mexico's legal system.

Ibarramedia

Thanks! understand about Elena now. I was missing some of the fine points about what the assistant doc was saying. I thought he was covering things up for all of them, not confessing.

Ibarramedia- Chucho's grand-nephew went to the US. Chucho mentioned it a long time ago, about how he would just be lonely if he went back to his old village.

Alex's lawyer called him up and told him Elena had very slim chances of getting out of jail.

Vivi, I don't know how you can remember all these small details. You would make a great witness.

I was hoping we would see Coqüi again, but I guess he's happy in DR with his family.

Variopinta- My sophomore year in high school my English teacher Mr. Robbins used to have us do these exercises after reading a book where he would pull random and obscure quotes out from different parts of the book. Our job then was to write at least a paragraph explaining which character said it and what the context was. I was always surprised by how much trouble everyone had with it. I always got every single one right and could go into the most detail about everything that surrounded it. I could even find the page and remember the part of the page where the quote appeared. The rest the class hated me for it. Mr. Robbins loved me. :) My memory is not as good as it was back then though. Ahh age! The 35th birthday will be upon me soon.

It sounds like you have the so called photographic memory. My husband was like that, read the paper & remember everything in it, even the little fillers. I forget everything 2 min after I read it.

Vivi, you're a genius! That's why we love you here. I can't keep any of the storyline straight, so I rely on people like you.

I don't know if it's photographic memory- more like situational memory. If that makes any sense. Lol! :)

Well, I finally have a chance to get here. Thanks so much, Kat, for your consistently excellent recaps. I would be lost without you and the other faithful recappers. Last night, I tuned in a little late, so I missed the gunfight at the O K Corral. We knew that crusty old Porfi would go down fighting with his boots on, no. ? And Jorrible Jorge, may I introduce you to Helen Fry. I'm with Pirate Babe...whose legs do we see walking in the sand? Could it be the waterfalled judge making his way back to blow the whistle on Bruno ? However, they looked like shaved lady legs to me. Is it Mauron running from justice ? Hombre~~Good point about the minor villains all knowing bits and pieces about Bruno's bad deeds. Isn't Elena the only one left who knows that Bruno killed Useless ? Probably Elena, Mauron, and Eric will all sing like birds to the authorities. Bruno, you should treat your help better. By the way, since Bruno usually had Eric do his dirty deeds, why did he kill Useless himself ? It's nice that Raq and Rob seem to be reconciling because it means that Rob will now be able to raise MiniVicky as he wanted to and no one will have to endure drunken, crass Raq's temper tantrums anymore. . However, it was just too easy. Raq turned on a dime in this redemption scenario and that just does not happen.

Vivi~~I am in awe of you. You have a mind like a steel trap..so analytical . That's why I oncwe asked you if you were an engineer. When I teach the very confusing 12 active verb tenses to my students, the engineers, architects, and computer people always seem to get them. They are used to formulas , and that's how I teach the verb tenses. You do seem to have a photographic mind, but you are also amazing at anaylzing all the tiny deyails you remember. Do you like detective stories ? My mother loved and sister still loves them. They were both good at figuring out ''who-done-it.'' Me..no.

Vivi, you do have a great memory. I have to mark important things with post-its and/or write them down to remember. You wouldn't believe how many reminder alerts I set on my phone each day. 8:00 am check to make sure payment cleared out of account; 12:00 pm remember to get printing paper, 4:45 go to work. LOL, it's crazy. I envy you. Hope you have a nice birthday! Btw, depending on how my final schedule is looking for school, I am planning on coming to DC in May. :)

Cielo- The spring is the best time to visit DC! Beautiful flowering trees everywhere. If your mom eases up on you being able to meet strangers we should meet for tea.

Variopinta and Viv,
about the memory thing, Vivi has a very good memory but not a photgraphic or idactic memory. Individuals with those memories usually remember everything they see and read in extreme detail. I'm talking about computer precise detail. Every single punctuation, word for word. Most, but not all of these people are idiot savant, some are 'normal' but with poor logical skills. Very few are genius level intelligence combined with the idactic memory. The character Dr. Spencer Reid from the CBS series Criminal Minds is one such individual.

I can relate with Vivi, as I have a very good memory when it comes to trivia and events. It is either a blessing or a curse. :) I constantly amaze family and friends with the stuff I bring up from many years back. I remmeber things going back to when I was 2 years old.

If some of you had been really paying attention to what I write, I will reference things we discussed that most people dismiss. Examples of this is when I brought up the fact that Chris Ferro was interested in Zorro reruns last year at the start of MEPS which is roughly around this time period plus one more week.

Of course, I mentioned the legal system discussion of Mexico, but that is relatively recent. A while back, I gave a vivid description of the death and decomposition process. Connie Remembers this.

This kid nickster told of how the ladies in Guatemala posed for him in his sidebar photo. He was also the fastest recapper ever having posted them 2.5 minutes after Fuego. Then there was the Cindy bin incident about a certain 3 letter word. Molly used to talk about her daughter making fun of her watching Fuego before she joined in. Cherylnewmex and her personal friendship with argentine actress Marianna Karr and her Restaurant in Mexico I think it was named Caray! caray! for which this place was named after. That is also the phrase she used to use according to Cheryl, Melinama and others. Saw this too on the abridged dvd. I just remmember this stuff. I'm not always right though. I may confuse certain time periods or make a few mistakes because I do not have a photographic memory.

The closest to having done something with a photgraphic memory was when I did and emergency one opff, one shot recap of part one of the Fuego Final. I did the entire recap from sheer memory with no tape, no caption, nothing just being familiar with the entire storyline, predicting the outcome, understanding some of their easier dialogue, reading their body language. Lord, I was shaking from that time. The recap would have been posted faster if I could type faster. I thught I was going to die. lol. And that was almost ayear a go from today. Maybe it was a year ago. Give or take a few days.

Ibarramedia- You and I should team up for Trivial Pursuit or some such game. Susanlynn- I LOVE murder mysteries- Miss Marple, Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, etc.

Variopinta- Is it my imagination or does Gabriel look even more buff in those photos from the Cristina show that you shared? And a new tattoo as well! Didn't see that one amongst all the others when they were on the island.

Vivi, it is funny you mention that. I remember playing that game for one time ever with my cousins here... In the summer of 1985, shortly after the Live aid concert and my cousins and uncles and aunts from San Diego drove over and left. I amazed my cousins and their friends with the stuff I was spewing. My Strongest areas were History, Geography some pop culture.

I was also in all clubs and played aports all year round in high school. One clubi was a member of was the It's academic club, (not the tv team) I was too busy with sports to be on the tv team. To those not native to the DC area this link explains it all:

Daniela Romo sure looked good, I didn't recognize her at first. I epecially like to see the villains. We get to see Bruno again in La Dueña. I was surprised to see that David Zepeda is 45.

Vivi:

I love mysteries, too. My new favorite mystery author is Alan Bradley, who wrote, "The Sweetness At The Bottom Of The Pie." Delightful and charming heroine.

I was a local trivial pursuit champ but boy do I have major holes in my knowledge! I know nothing about basketball (JudyB, want to be my partner on that one? You seem to have encyclopedic knowledge of the subject), my awareness of hip-hop music is sketchy at best, and I am a total loser at remembering the US Presidents. LOL...

Some of you here seem to have good knowledge of TNs. It'll be a while before I catch up on that one.

After seeing the legs in the sand @ the end of each story...Im kinda thinking they are baby legs....could it be baby Tony...all a sudden a toddler..walking ahead and looking back at his mommy & daddy

I thought David Zepeda was 35?
