Amor Monday, February 15, 2010: Romina hears a creepy clucking sound – it’s her chickens, come home to roost

Friday: Paloma goes to Gabriel in Mexico City. He doesn’t want her to stay out of pity and then see him croak. She says she really cares about him and wants him to come back to Real del Monte. Em looks at the photo on his cell phone and leers. Lili was right, he thoughtbubbles. His friend is betraying him, the baby must be his. Why oh why did he marry Romina?

Last week was a doozy, and this one promises to be, too, so strap yourselves into your seats and awaaay we go!

Carlota’s doorbell rings. It’s Don E, who won’t be brushed off. Steamed, he demands to know why she told Paloma that Gabriel is dying. She says I didn’t know it was a secret, plus you told me yourself. I never did, he growls. How else would I know if you hadn’t? she says. Don E says I talked to Gabriel’s doctor on your phone - you must’ve been listening on the extension.

Oh no no no, she assures him. I could never do anything like that. Don E is frustrated and says you’re so persuasive when you lie. You really are an amazing person, so okay, I agree to be your lawyer. Carlota is surprised. Don E says there’s a sunny side to your indiscretion - it benefits Gabriel.

He strides out and Carlota looks amazed.

In the hospital waiting room, Em shows Rafa the photo of Romina and German in bed. We know it’s not nice to kiss and tell, but of course he wasn’t the one doing the kissing. Rafa is amazed that he didn’t do anything. Em says he wanted to punch out German and maybe Romina too, but he realized that the photo was what he needed to get his divorce. Smart! Says Rafa.

Chris shows up and Em goes to have a coffee with him. Rafa will hold the fort.

Rafa’s cell rings and it’s Diana crying and begging him to go to Pachuca with him to confront Samuel about the house. Rafa says we’re divorced now – you’re responsible for your own decisions. Diana wails But he robbed me! Aren’t you going to help meeeee?

Rafa says you’ll still get your alimony. Rent some place and get a job. You’re horrible, says Diana. Probably, says Rafa, and, since you called, you should know that your grandchild is very sick. You should come to the hospital. Diana says I have more important things to do right now – he’s been sick since he was born. Whatever, says Rafa, disgusted, and he hangs up.

Romina comes home from the hospital and finds German asleep in her bed. She says I told you to get up and go! He asks about the baby. Romina says it has something, but I don’t understand what it is. She assures him Em doesn’t know about them – he’s too worried about the baby. She says she’s going to take a quick shower and he needs to get out of there.

Em apparently has told Chris about German and Romina. Chris admires his restraint. Em says the reason he asked Chris to come is that he wants to get the DNA tests but he doesn’t have the receipt for them, Dr B did when he disappeared. He wants Chris to try – he’s so respected. Of course, an angry crowd was throwing tomatoes at Chris just a few weeks ago, but maybe his reputation has healed up quickly. Chris says count on me.

Carlota is sitting around in her slippers in the darkish living room when Rufi comes home. As usual, Carlotta’s not reading or anything. Maybe she just is tanking up on darkness. Rufi wonders why she’s there and not in bed and she said Don E rang the doorbell. She wants to know where Paloma is, but Rufi doesn’t know.

Carlota says if Paloma thinks she doesn’t have to answer to her anymore just because she turned 18, she’s sorely mistaken. Carlota then asks what the news on the street is. Rufi says all people can talk about is Dr B disappearing. Carlota says they think he’s dead, right? Rufi says they don’t know. One flower lady said that she’d seen him that night.

Really? says Carlota, her eyes narrowing. Rufi says he appeared to the lady, like a ghost, but I think the lady was just trying to get attention.

Carlota thoughtbubbles: Could it be he’s alive? Is that why I got that call yesterday?

En cambio, no…. and we go to ad. There’s Aracely Whatshername with abundant crimson curls, her surging bosom trying to escape a period dress, and Eduardo Yanez with long flowing locks blowing in the wind. Hmm.

Camila is just doing up a red pair of those high-waist trousers that look so good on her. She tells Orlando that she just can’t go to Houston now with the baby so sick. He understands, he says. Camila says they’re going to baptize the baby. Orlando says he prefers not to go alone, but he has to go.

Gabriel has cooked up a nice lunch and he and Paloma are eating at a table in the yard. She notes that they both have been around death a lot, but in different ways. He says her experiences have given her art maturity and depth.

Gabriel tells her that his parents died young and he learned you could either spend your life crying in a corner, or you can use every moment to the max. She says she loves that about him.

She has to get back, she says, Are you coming with me? He says no, he wants to stay, but he takes her hands and says You’re not going to leave just now either. You wanted to enjoy the time we have together – then let’s do that, even if it’s just for now.

Don E arrives at Gabe’s Real del Monte studio, where the maid is still cleaning up. That must’ve been one helluva party. His cell rings and it’s Natalia telling him she has “him” at her house now. Don E’s glad. Natalia says he’s not any better. Don E thanks her for her help and she says it’s her great pleasure – she’s at the head of the long line of people who are thirsting for justice.

The baby is getting baptized by Padre B in scrubs while a nurse in scrubs holds him. Em, Romina, Camila and the two granddaddies watch from behind the observation glass. Romina says he’s so cute, he looks just like you, Emiliano. Em looks away from her in disgust.

Em asks a passing nurse if the test results are back yet. No, she says. Romina says to him, don’t worry, we’ll have him at home soon. Em stomps off angrily. What’s with him? asks Romina. I need him to console me, support me, or something. Camila soothes her.

Paloma and Gabriel are in the open-air top seats of what is probably a tour bus, riding around seeing the sights in Mexico City. Apparently the city is a hoot, because they’re both pointing and laughing full-out for hours. They play around, getting more touchy as the tour wears on. Pretty soon he has his arms around her and she puts a friendly kiss on his face. He says so this is your first time here? She says can’t you tell?

He says you are my life. She says but just for now – you said so. After a while, the shadows are lengthening and they’re still riding on top of that bus, her head on his shoulder. Nobody else has been in the top level, and I wonder if the driver even knows they’re still there.

Chris is talking to Dr. B’s secretary. She tells him the police came by, but there wasn’t anything suspicious. Chris wants to know if Carlota came by, and the secretary says not since he was going with her sister.

She finds the envelope with the results and says if I didn’t know you so well, I wouldn’t give them to you. Chris thanks her and says he’s sure the doctor, wherever he is, would appreciate her doing that. She says she hopes the doctor is okay.

German has come to see Carlota – Rufi’s surprised about that, and also didn’t know about the baby. He heads for Carlota’s office.

Carlota snarls finally! What did you find out? German says nothing – the earth seems to have swallowed him up. What makes you so sure he’s dead? Don’t ask stupid questions, she says. German tenses up and says Don’t insult me. Oooo, says Carlota, smiling, getting up and circling him. Aren’t we indignant? Not everyone would give you a second chance. So deliver.

He says You haven’t told me what you want me to do. She stands close and says What would you like? He grabs her and kisses her forcefully.

On the phone, Natalia asks somebody if “they” are coming. Great! It needs to be on those dates. I’ll call again, and remember, don’t tell anybody. She hangs up and smiles.

The lady doctor has come out and is telling our group that the baby has cystic fibrosis. She has to flip her head back and forth to do her announcement as, in typical telenovela style, half the group is lined up on one side of her, and the other on the other half, so they show their faces to the camera.

She says in a preemie, anything can be serious. Also, the results from Em and Romina have come back, but….

But what, doctor? Both parents have to be carriers and Romina is but…. Emiliano isn’t. Em glares at Romina, who cuts a look at him, then looks away, like a dog caught with a chewed shoe.

The doctor says either the results are wrong, or Emiliano isn’t the father. Jeez, why not announce it over the loudspeaker? All eyes on are on Romina. Em yells at her Now is the time to tell the truth! Who is the father of the child? You, says Romina. Only you.

Chris arrives with the envelope and hands it to Em, telling him You aren’t the father of the baby. Romina darts her eyes back and forth between him and Em and realizes what’s up. She stares at Em.

It’s not true, she says. I had a test done before the baby was born, remember? And it proves you are the father. No, it doesn’t, he snarls, and this explains why Bernando was born “premature.” Rafa grabs his shoulders and says fighting won’t solve anything.

For her part, Camila, takes Romina’s shoulders and says Who is the father? It’s Emiliano, Romina swears.

The doctor says If we don’t have the real father, we can’t do the treatment. (Hands up if you think this is true. Anyone?)

Chris says Romina, nobody is judging you. (Ha!)But the life of an innocent child depends on you and the real father. Romina says Emiliano is the father.

Liar! explodes Em as he lunges at her. Rafa grabs him and pulls him back. Em leaves to get a little fresh air, and Camila grabs Romina roughly by the arm and drags her off, saying You and I have to talk.

Emiliano is outside the hospital, panting from adrenaline, scowling. He’s a much better scowler than he is a mooner – he might have a bright future as a telenovela bad guy, maybe curling his lip as he murders somebody. And now guess who runs up? Anamar, who just happens to be strolling near the hospital. Is something wrong with your baby? she wants to know. Em snaps that it’s not his baby.

Paloma is about to leave. She’s tearful and says Mexico City is beautiful – she would have loved to live there. Gabriel says then stay – I’ll help you.

No, she says. You wanted this to be our last time together, right? I don’t get it – it seems foolish, a waste of time. We could have more days like today, but if you don’t want that, there’s nothing I can do.

She throws her arms around him. They both anguish. She tells him she’ll never forget this day. She gets into the chauffeured car. He walks to his front door, then turns. He anguishes for a nanosecond. Usually a moment like this would get a huge long take, with a closeup of his eyes brimming with tears, and violins swooning in the background, but hey, we’re in ultimas semanas.

He runs back to the car, grabs the door and pulls her out. Don’t go! I’ll go with you! Really? says Paloma. He says For the rest of the time I have left. But I don’t want you to see me die. When the time comes, I want you to let me go. Okay, she says, but only at that last moment. They kiss, a real kiss this time.

Whadda job sighs the chauffer. But they don’t show that.

Carlota is at home and sees a big manila envelope has been slid under the door. She opens it. In cut-out letters it says I’m alive. Look out. Her eyes pop wide.

Who knew a Yorkie could use scissors?

Camila is telling off Cleopatra, the Queen of Denial big time. She tells her the gig is up, the tests are in, and she just set up this whole thing to trap Emiliano. No no no, says Romina, I don’t want to hear any more! She claps her hands over her ears.

Camila yanks them off and tells her she’s not a kid any more, that the life of the baby is hanging in the balance, and she’d better get the father of the child, German or whoever it is, and get him in here. No, no, says Romina, running off.

Back to Em and Anamar. He wonders how he could have been so stupid. She says he’s not stupid, he has values. He snorts Values? I must run around looking like a sucker. No, she says, you thought the child was yours and did the right thing. It’s the child’s mother who has no values. Your values are what made me fell in love with you

Luz tells the social worker about the mean guy holding a knife to her throat to scare her into giving the little girl back. She looked tough, she said, but she was plenty scared. What to do? They’re going to file charges.

Diana is at the visitor’s room of the prison, asking Samuel about her house. He said the business deal went south, but don’t worry. When he gets out, he’ll get it back. Diana says How could I have been such an idiot? You’re a crook, a user, a loser. He says don’t insult me. He tells her she’s a grasping ugly woman. Etc.

He tells her how could she think she could compete with Camila, who is beautiful and classy? She lunges across the table and grabs his neck. The guards pull her off, and all the other prisoners and visitors swivel their heads to enjoy the show. He calls after her You don’t know how revolting it was to get in bed with you!

Rufi is cooking and is surprised when Madeleine is rolled in by her manservant. Madeleine says she came to have a tea with her there in her kitchen. My kitchen? Says Rufi a bit shyly. Madeleine says the kitchen is the best place to have tea and talk.

At her house (or wherever she it is she’s been staying lately), Natalia is talking to a man I don’t recognize. She’s filling him in – seems like he didn’t know that Alonso died until just recently. She says that Roberto (Alonso’s business friend) was out of town on his honeymoon, and she didn’t know anybody else. They told her he’d gone to Columbia (read: has a job on another telenovela), and that this guy was taking care of things.

The guy says that the Alonso’s death must be connected to the information that Alonso had about the will. He believes, from the information Alonso gave to Roberto about the will, that apparently Paloma originally was supposed to get her inheritance at 18, and you can’t change a will after the people who had it drawn up have died.

Natalia sighs that it looks like the investigation will have to continue. Too bad Alonso died before finding out the results. The fellow says probably his death was caused by the investigation. If it has to do with Inaki being murdered, then probably the same person altered the will.

Natalia says So you think Alonso wanted to kill Carlota? If that woman is the she-devil you say she is, it’s possible, he says. We need to find out where Carlota was during the time that Alonso disappeared and was found dead.

Whoa, says Natalia, holding her head.

Rufi and Madeleine are having their tea. Mad tells her sweetly not to be jealous of her. Rufi says me? Jealous? Mad says down through the years she’s learned to read people. She says Rufi and she are co-grandmothers. Tears come to Rufi’s eyes. Mad says I thank you so much for all the love you have given Paloma all these years. Rufi says I’m just a servant. Por favor! says Mad tenderly. Mad says we are all different in our values and our feelings, but our social class doesn’t matter.

Glad you cleared that up, Mad.

Mad says even if you’re not a blood relative, you’ve given Paloma much more love than that horrid aunt of hers. Rufi says I don’t want to be separated from Paloma. Mad says How can you think you would be! Look, I don’t want you to call me Senora, call me Madeleine. I want you to help me by bringing Paloma to feel a little tenderness towards me. Now it’s Mad’s turn to be tearful.

Rufi says as soon as she learns you are her grandmother, she will love you. Mad says I want her to love me because I’ve earned it like you did. That’s the love that really counts. Tell me what’s she’s like, how I can win her over. They smile happily at one another.

German is strutting happily down the street and spots Em moodily leaning on a tree branch. What’s up, homie? he says. Em slugs him, and tells him he needs to show up at the hospital right now because the baby is sick and they need its father.

You’re the dad, German protests. Em says they did tests and it’s not me. German swears he’s never had anything to do with Romina. Oh yeah? says Em, whipping out his cell phone. Check this out.

German says oh. That’s not me. Em slugs him in the stomach, then throws him against the tree trunk. Ouch! Slo-mo, with Em’s hair swinging dramatically. German’s on the ground, the wind knocked out of him, blood streaming from his mouth. He holds his hands up to tell Em to stop.

Romina is coming down the hospital hallway alone and Chris intercepts her, telling her he wants to talk to her about her relationship with Emiliano, the baby, and herself. She says Look, Padre, or ex-Padre, whatever you are. I don’t want to hear your sermonizing. He says he cares about Emiliano, and…. She says then give him your advice, not me. She flounces off.

Distraught Camila is a coffee shop with Meche and Monica, telling them that Romina ran off and she hopes she went to look for the real daddy. Camila figures that the first test was faked, and who would do that? Meche says somebody who wanted Romina to marry Paloma. Camila says Who would that be?

Meche flashes back to that day at the lab when somebody in a big coat and hat handed a fat envelope to the receptionist at the lab. She tells Camila she saw Carlota that day, dressed to be unrecognizable, handing over the envelope. A bribe!

Em has dragged bleeding German into the waiting room and tells Romina, who for once hasn’t fled the scene to go shoe shopping, that here’s the daddy. She denies it. Em dramatically whips out the tiny phone. She looks at the picture, bobbles for a moment, and then says I don’t know who sent you that – it’s been photoshopped.

Em grabs her and says I took it. I was coming by to bring you to the hospital. I want German to take a test. No! says German.

It’s not necessary, he says. I don’t want to keep lying. Behind Em’s shoulder, Romina gestures for him to shut up. I was afraid to get a paternity test, even when Dr B offered.

Romina runs over and gives him a shove. Shut up! she says. You shut up, says Em.

German says my mother died of cystic fibrosis. The child is yours, Romina, and mine.

If German is Em’s friend since childhood, how did Em not know this already? Sigh.

Avances: Paloma tells Carlota she was with Gabriel, and Carlota slaps her.

Maggie....this is brilliant!

I can barely catch my breath after this episode.

Em slugging Germ over and over: Go Em Go!

Thanks so much Maggie. Wow! That was a fantastic episode. Emoony morphed into the Hulk, and he was way more interesting in rightous anger mode.

And Pal actually had a good day, went after her man, AND got kissed. Yay!

Someone who has not had their brain slowed down by the water in RDM figured out right away that the will was motive for murder- that Alonso would not have just taken his life like that without FIRST getting revenge and taking out whoever killed his son and that it must have been MURDER.

Carloca was thrown off her game by Eugenio and the note. And although she thinks Germs is wrapped around her finger, he's also playing for the other team. By the way, I laughed out loud when I saw your line about the dead dog sending the note. :) Too funny!

Great recap of a great episode.

Thanks Maggie. You had quite an action-packed episode last night. Lot of fussin-n-fightin'.

There is something almost sad about Romeme and her inability to face facts. Camilla must have been on overload through the years trying to make everything such a fairyland to make up for Samuel the Sleaze. The girl thinks everything happens the way she wants with a flip of her golden curls. A little too late with Cami screaming at her. Question becomes with this whole sad story line what happens to poor baby Bernardo.

It's a hoot watching La Loca getting played; getting a taste of her own scissors and glue with the secret note, Don E confusing the daylights out of her and Pal growing that spine and standing up for herself.

Little confused who the guy was with Nat who apparently knows a lot, but hey, I'm game if it's another new member of the "We hate Purple" group.

Maddy is sweet, but these scenes with Rufi just seem a bit distracting with so much other action going on. Maybe the writers are giving us a chance to refresh our coffee.

I have to admit, that take-down of Diana by Samuel the Sleeze was sort of fun. And Rafa telling her to get a job, now why can't everyone do that with Romeme???

The best of course was seeing our Gabe and Pal enjoying a weird ride (did he rent out the bus???). Here she's with a guy who is dying and yet smiling, laughing and being loved. With Emi it's all mooning, sadness, confusion and he's healthy as a horse. Go figure. And finally we got a REAL kiss between these two. Sweet. Again, she won't wind up with him in the end I bet(DRAT), but I sooooo prefer these two together. Hope they stay together for a at least a couple more weeks of screen time.

A great recap Maggie. Something to crow about. You never lay any eggs. :)

"What’s with him? asks Romina. I need him to console me, support me, or something." Oh wait, I have Germs for something. :)

Great line. "Who knew a Yorkie could use scissors?"

"If we don’t have the real father, we can’t do the treatment." I'm with you, Que? We were trying to figure out what they were talking about. Wondering if we missed something. I looked to you recap to help clarify things, but it is what it looks like I guess.

Yes, where did this Roberto with Natalia come from. Perhaps he went to Oz as he does have a brain.

So what happened with Germs and LaLoca with the lip lock, is that how that ended and didn't go back to it?

That's what I wondered the other day, "Hey, German, heard of Cystic Fibrosis?" "Yep, runs in my family."

I don't think Emoon had to beat Germs to a pulp to get him to the hospital, but I guess what works. That is what I thought would happen the other day. Sure never thought Emoon would have enough constraint or brains not to do the beat down and take the picture.

Maybe Emoon will be a little better in CS.

I think 3 weeks left. Seems like this is about 156 out of 171 capitulos.

Wow great episode Maggie thanks so much for the recap.

RoMEME is lying to the bitter end, if i was Camila i would have called the funny farm to come lock up miss queen of denial. She wants to maintain her lie at the cost of her child's life? She really is sick and twisted, when Emoon lunged at her when she kept lying omg she better thank her lucky stars that Rafael was there.

Dian that was too funny first Rafael telling her to get a job and rent a room, and Samuel telling her she wasn't that great in bed.

I didn't catch the guy name who Natalia was talking too but he's not Roberto, he said Roberto was on his honeymoon and he took over for him. It could be Natalia is trying to bring back Carmen who has all of the information on Paloma's inheritance. She can confirmed that the copy German made of the original is what first Inaki found out about then her.

Carloca didn't slap Paloma she tried to and Paloma stop her by grabbing her arm.

Now Meche talks about seeing Carloca the day RoMEME went to get her test done.

Maggie, Wow, thank you for your face-paced, colorful recap of a blockbuster episode. And yes, all those little chickadees are finally coming home to roost.

So good to see the good guy alliances taking hold. I hope the man helping Natalia will get in touch with Eugenio. Her Purpleness is finding out she's no longer in control. It's all falling apart right in front of her and ditto for Diana and Romina.

Daisy, I too wish Pal could wind up with Gabe. Like Iñaki, he has shown her how to be strong and also how to channel the tragedies in her life into artistic expresion. Too many other people in her life have only modeled the sad defeated victim mentality. Gabriel was telling her that when he was young his parents told him he could handle his illness by hiding in a corner and crying or by taking advantage of every day he was given. He chose the latter obviously and this insight seemed to have resonated with Paloma. In the advance it seems that Carlota is going to slap her but Paloma grabs her hand and stops her. She is not doing the Macarena any longer. I just wish she and Rufi had gone to Mexico City with Gabe rather than having him come back to Real de M. I'm sure Eugenio would have helped set them up there, especially with what he knows about Dr. B's survival. When Pal tells Carlota in the advances that she's leaving with Gabrial, it's like putting his neck in the noose. Plus, she loves Gabe like a friend. but I'm afraid Emooniano is still her man.

For a mintute, I was worried there woldn't be enough left of German to take to the hospital after that beatdown. But there he is, trying to do the right thing for the baby. So maybe he's on redemption path after all.

I just wanted to say thank’s to all of the recappers for your hard work. Because of you guys, after I miss watching an episode, I just read your recaps and it like I was there watching it. And I don’t risk spoiling future episodes, like I have done in the past, by trying to find the show I missed on "youtube". I totally ruined Inaki's death with that. I had to hide it from my daughter for weeks that I knew he was going to die.

My daughter and I watch this together, and it funny after we read your recaps, how many people say the same things we do. We agree with everyone else, Gabriel is the one for Paloma. My daughter is in LOVE with Garbriel, I am sure if Paloma does not want him, she will be happy to take him off her hands. Even with his new "Harry Potter" scar on his forehead.

Thank again recappers.

Thank you Maggie for the recap. It was hilarious.

I'm also confused, why they need the father to start treatment. I don't think they covered Cysts Fibrosis on Greys Anatomy, so I have no professional knowledge about the disease. I feel so sorry for little Bernardo. A moron father, a selfish mother, and now this sickness.

Maybe Bernardo having cystic fibrosis will be the thing that really makes Germy turn around. Right now he's only helping Eugenio trap Carloca out of revenge, but he wasn't really reformed. From the few times we saw him interacting with his father earlier, we saw how much the death of his beloved mother, and then his father's remarriage to his aunt, destroyed all sense of family for him. He really became a person with no allegiances or ties to anyone then. Perhaps having his baby being saddled with the same illness of the last person who truly loved him and who he truly loved will change him for the better.

Maggie, terrific title and another wonderful recap. Your details were perfect and much appreciated.

Gabe and Paloma should be together. My fear is that his return will bring him closer to Carlota's clutches. I think she will get crazier, not cagier as the walls close in around her. I wouldn't put it past her to try another murder - Cris and now unfortunately Gabe might be prime targets.

Maria, I agree that poor little Bernardo's life isn't starting out with any promise.

Aside from Carlota, is there anyone more sickening than Diana? "Diana says I have more important things to do right now – he’s been sick since he was born." One of the most heartless lines in this entire telenova. Blech.

Diana

Maggie, that was excellent. You really did justice to a great episode.

I would love to know what is so freaking hilarious about Mexico City. Apparently a bus tour is the height of comedy. Who knew?

Team We Hate Carlota should start sending notes and messages from beyond the grave from all the deceased. I bet they could think of some doozies of things for Macarena to vent.

What did happen with Germs and Carlota? So weird how we just departed that scene.

Best moment in weeks Cami frog marching her twit of a daughter off and telling her to essentially get over herself. As much as I dislike Romena I blame Camila for her rotten spoiled behavior. From the time the little twit was a child she sugar coated everything and caved at every opportunity. Looks like the chickens have come home to roost for both of them.

Nice beat-down Emoon gave his BFF but like someone else said I think Germs went to the hospital willingly. In a lot of ways Germs is wounded and of all of them he seemed to show the most concern for the baby he is only now coming to realize is his.

Um let me see The Princess of Everyone I Love Dies is now in the process of culling another victim from the herd and serving him up to The Queen of I Kill Anyone Who Gets in My Way. I fear Gabe's days are seriously numbered especially after those previews of Paloma getting ready to move out.

Diana and Slimmy Sam - totally hilarious. She has such an inflated idea of her charms and gets a well deserved public dis from the snake oil salesman. Too funny.

It would appear that the noose is slowly beginning to be tightened around the neck of the Great Purple One. Too many people are finally beginning to put the clues together. But I can't see her going down without a monumental fight.

Loved the scene with Maddy and Rufi although I had to wonder how the Purple One would have reacted knowing the woman was in the house. It's nice to see that yet another member of the family is telling Rufi not to worry that she will always be a big part of Paloma's life. I guess she has been so beat down by the Beast that she fears losing the girl and it may explain why she continues to keep her mouth shut.

That skank Anamar is like fly paper, sticking to Emoon at every opportunity. Doesn't she have a job? It;s not like she is a member of the family like everyone else.

I would have done the same ass kicking and even more if I had been in Emiliano's shoes. What German did was the ultimate btrayal for a guy. And he was supposed to be best buddies with him. I would have dragged him willingly or unwillingly to the hospital. I do marvel at everyone talking about this business out in the open in the waiting area. What scandal, the public must be thinking. And Mexico is very scandal and image conscious.

I can believe German not telling Emiliano all these years about the cystic fibrosis. It could be that he knows the mother died of illness and that's it. Unless he is the kind of person who will ask for details. I know I would because I'm a curious guy. Nothing wrong or improper about that.

Great recap of a great episode, Maggie. Your title is GOLDEN!

I especially liked your description of Romina's expression: like a dog caught with a chewed shoe!

I couldn't believe Romina kept saying the baby was Em's in the face of everything: DNA results, baby being premature (which automatically meant the one time she sneaked into his bed and nothing happened can't work out mathematically). She even kept on after German said the kid was his. What a nut case.

I can't figure out why German planted the lip lock on La Loca. He's just supposed to follow orders about tripping her up, but I don't think kisses were part of Eugenio's instructions. Of course, she could do the deed with German (Ugh!) if she's given up saving her precious virginity for Cris. It seems as if she's finally not talking about their great love any more.

I was not pleased to see Anamar pop up outside the hospital either. She gets on my nerves. Could she suck up to him any more? All that stuff about how noble he is: FF>>>

Noverla – Romina is a person who is determined to get the square peg in the round hole, even if takes a sledgehammer.

Say, why don’t you sign on for Mi Pecado? You would be awesome.

Just out of curiosity – did somebody tag this recap? I tagged it last night, then as usual went to the main Caray page and clicked over to make sure it was successfully tagged. Then when I looked this morning, it wasn’t in the Amor section. Weird. And now it is.

Thanks for the great recap Maggie. It was a great episode. ITA that Em needs to stay in Hulk mode instead of moony mode.

Romena's insistence of the baby being Em's was pitiful particularly b/c the child's life is at risk. When Em lunged at her and she still kept lying, I wanted her mother to shake her.

Seeing Don E so vexed with La Loca was fun. If she harms Gabe, he might kill her.

Maggie: Thanks for another fantastic recap!

Decie Girl: Your comment on Anamar sticking to Emiliano like flypaper really cracked me up! That's pesky Anamar alright!

Lots more great input from the Carry crew. Thank's to all.

With 3 weeks, 15 episodes to go, each chapter is a wild ride and lots of fun, but in the back of my mind I am thinking how much I am going to miss this show and all of you.

Romina is really an echo of the Evil Purple One...when someone calls her on her lies and manipulations, she just digs in and gets louder.

The thought of Germs and Carloca together grosses me out, but I guess her with anyone is gross. It almost seems like she should be disgraced that way somehow, though, after she's gone on and on about being a virgin and thinking that makes her better than other people, and calling everyone sluts even when they're completely not.

How about the Abusive Boozer as an appropriate partner for her? And then he posts the video all over?

It occurred to me a bit ago that I find it strange that Em hasn't called Paloma to tell her the baby is sick. He knows she was bonding with it and he also knows that if anything happens to the child she will just add it up as one more person she cared about who died. Considering his stalkerish tendencies with her it would seem to me he would think it the perfect excuse to contact her. Then again now that he knows the baby isn't his maybe he doesn't really give a rats behind.

Maggie a great and exciting recap.

I thought Eugenio was Gabe's father, but in the recap he said his parents died young. Was that an error or did I misunderstand...???

Will Romina ever change...??? Even her tears upon hearing about poor little Bernardo,.. were only for her.

For a while I thought Gabe would live and end up with him but now I feel sure she will end up with Em.

Boo hoo,! I missed the clucking and the chickens coming home to roost due to an engagement which I did not go to willingly...what is more important...ENDA or family. Hmmmm. But, Maggie, your recap filled me in and gave me some big laughs as well. I could picture pretty much everything from your recap.

I may go to YouTube for the reveals of Romina's big lie and Diana's confrontation with Slimey Sami. Jeff, thanks for the epi # 156. it helps a lot.

Poor Baby Bernie, you'd think the writer's would have given him something that could be fixed by an operation like a heart defect but not a horrible disease with no cure.

Decie Girl, I'm sure Em DOES give a rat's behind about Bernardo. He really loves that baby, which is why he dragged Germs to the hospital after the beatdown.

Of course, from what I know of cystic fibrosis, it's incurable. The symptoms can be treated, but it doesn't go away. So needing the biological parents to do tests? give blood? whatever they're talking about - makes no sense at all. They're talking like having the biological parents give something (blood?) is a cure. What? It seemed to me like plot service so that Ro would finally be exposed because Em didn't have the gene.

I hadn't actually thought about Em calling Paloma. But he's been pretty busy agonizing about the baby, finding out Romina's trapped him into marrying her, and beating the crap out of German

As far as I know, the only way to cure CF is a lung transplant, and for that to happen, a matching donor would have to die.

Theoretically gene therapy could eventually be a cure, but it hasn't been developed yet, I don't think. If anyone is trying it, it's still in the experimental stages, so wouldn't be seriously considered as a cure for Bernie...although time in RdM is strange, so maybe it's the future there?

I find Diana to be incredibly annoying and the nagging, whiny behavior gets on my nerves.

I don't think Emiliano had to call Paloma about that. Gabriel would not appreciate that too. There are a lot of guys who have what you said are 'stalkerish' behavior to Paloma ene though he was married. to Romina. He is protective of her and for lack of a better word, his territory therefore he is insanely jealous when Paloma talks to other guys. Right or wrong that is how it is with him.

With that said, would you all still want Paloma to end up with him or soneone else? Or just stay single?

Thanks Maggie for the brilliant recap!

I for one am glad to see Em beating the crap out of Germs. It's about freakin' time. Em has every right to knock heads.OK, so he's been pouty and mooney, but c'mon. His head has been totally jerked around with lies, and at least he had the spine to stand up and marry R. and try to be a father to the baby he thought was his.

I love watching RoMEANa get busted and blasted. Laura Flores is doing a great job as Camila ripping R. a new one. I thought the blood vessels were going to pop out right of her head last night as she reamed her.

You go Meche--good remembering of Carlota sleazebag, disguised and paying the dinero to have the lab screw up the results of the first paternity test.

Dona Gringuita

If Carlota hooks up with Germy again, will have to call her La Cougar Loca I guess. :)

Julia.. A lung transplant? I think I know who the donor could be. :)

Gin.. I looked to verify and this does appear to be #156. I knew it was around there. I think Anon put 155 on the Friday episode.

Frank.. Me, too. I usually end up missing the shows when they are done, even if some do take forever. :)
You can miss the show, but you don't have to miss us. Most of us will probably be somewhere here on CarayCaray. :)

I thought when Anamar showed up as the hospital, I thought it looked like they would make a good couple. Have Pal and Gabe end up together and Anamar and Emo. Anamar shows up everywhere, but hasn't been quite is pushy, IMO, lately. Not as overt as earlier.

Oh, and Maddy just wandered into the house to talk to Rufi? Door unlocked, so let's just walk in unannounced??

Was it just me every time RoMEME kept insisting that Emoon was the baby's father i was reminded of Big Willie Bill Clinton i did not have sex relations with that woman.Deny, deny, deny she must have watched Bill when he was doing that on TV.

Julia Said: "Theoretically gene therapy could eventually be a cure, but it hasn't been developed yet, I don't think. If anyone is trying it, it's still in the experimental stages, so wouldn't be seriously considered as a cure for Bernie...although time in RdM is strange, so maybe it's the future there?"

You could be right aobut that Julia. But then, even if the US and Europe have Gene therapy cure, would Mexico or more psecifically Real Del Monte have this? Would They all afford this? Most of the residents of Real Del Monte who are involved in Paloma and Romina's life are middle class folks whoa re small business owners not Rich Hacienderos or Corporation owners.

Ibarramedia

Even if it were gene therapy, they wouldn't want a bad gene from a carrier...

I believe the only reason why the doctor wanted know who both parents were is because she wanted to confirm the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis. She could not confirm the diagnosis because, of course, Emiliano was negative for the gene. As she said, both parents carry the gene for cystic fibrosis.
