Sortilegio - Wed Feb 10 - Bruno can't kill everybody in the whole world, too bad for him.
Alex and Vicky return home and are greeted by Zeke who informs them that Raq is more calm, according to Roberto (who I guess is caring for her). Vicky wants to know what happened to Raq. They tell her about Useless and she gets upset that they didn’t tell her earlier because they were trying not to upset her with all that was also going on with Fer. She rushes to Raq’s chalet and finds her devastated in bed. Vicky kisses her as Raq cries and hugs her. Vicky tells her a hard truth, that now that she knows Useless will never return, Raq can finally move on with her life. She’s not alone, she has Vicky, Alex and Mini Vicky- people who love her.
Bruno meets Erik at a restaurant, gives him Mateo’s number, and orders Erik to find Mateo and kill him. Erik is reluctant at first, but comes around when Bruno offers him half a million pesos for the job. But first, Erik wants to know why Mateo needs to die and wants to know the details of Bruno’s latest dirty dealings.
Jorge leave Elena to her own devices and takes of to Canada.
Porfirio talks to Tio Emiliano and tells him what Elena said about Sandra and MJ being his real nietas. Emiliano questions if this is true, but Porfirio thinks sometimes it’s better to go on believing a lie than to know the truth. In any case, MJ is exactly what he would want in a nieta.
Detective Ortiz comes to speak to Alex and MJ about Useless and the kidnapping. Ortiz is impactado hearing about the twin switch and such. He wants to know how they found out Useless was a part of it and they tell him it was Bruno and Elena that fingered Useless. Ortiz wants to talk to them. Apparently Bruno took Alex’s last threat seriously, because he’s moved into a local hotel. MJ gives the cop Elena’s address willingly.
Fer has been moved to Hernan’s clinic. Fer thinks Hernan doesn’t like him (for obvious reasons) and is only helping him because of Vicky. He’s still feeling low, but when Katia arrives and she and Vicky remind that Katia depends on him and so do others, he decides to buck up, get with the program and start his physical therapy. Later she offers up her home for Fer to recover in. He refuses. It is obvious that he doesn’t want to be a burden on her or for her to take on the “nurse” role with him. The next day we see him with his very lovely physical therapist. Vicky and Katia watch for a while (I would too, if he was wearing those tiny shorts), but he asks them to leave. Vicky is jealous of the therapist, as she is young and beautiful. I would dismiss this jealously if it weren’t for the fact that the therapist Irene, is being played by one of the sisters from FELS. Why would they bring in a well known actress if she wasn’t going to play a significant role?
Bruno tells Maura he will take care of the Mateo problem. She panics, he is arrogantly smug. She’s worried about getting nailed for the kidnapping, he tells her that’s her problem since nothing can stick to him about the kidnapping (this conversation was very much like the one between Jorge and Elena).

Recap Part 2:
Alex gleefully brings the cops to Bruno’s hotel. Bruno looks worried at first but relaxes when he realizes they are only there to ask about the kidnapping and Useless. The cops wonder how Bruno knows so much about Useless and his kidnapping plans. Bruno’s all ‘I never imagined he would actually do such a thing.” The cops seem doubtful that Useless committed suicide. “Things aren’t always what they appear to be.” Bruno looks worried. As Alex and the cops leave, Ortiz tells Alex that the fingerprint and gunpowder residue tests were inconclusive. The amount of decomposition had something to do with this. Ortiz notes that it looks like Alex and Bruno don’t get along.
MJ goes searching for Raq in the chalet. She finds her curled in fetal position crying behind a chair. Raq thinks it’s all lies about Useless and wants MJ to remember the kidnapping. MJ has dreamt about a spacious room with a screaming woman, and thinks this was the kidnapping. Raq is sure that the woman screaming was Maura and that she had something to do with the kidnapping. She begs/demands that MJ remembers what she screamed, but MJ still can’t remember.
Paula and Gabe have lunch. His treat (of course). She thanks him because now one has taken her out in like forever. They talk about Fer and Gabe feels for him as he went through something very similar after his accident. Paula apologizes for not being more sympathetic with what he was going through at the time as she was so ticked off about being framed for his accident.
Bruno and Maura are in her office and upset that Alex and MJ have started an investigation into the kidnapping. Bruno worries that there are too many loose ends- namely Mateo, Elena and Jorge. They need to cover their asses and quick. Maura panics, saying she thought Bruno had it all under control, and blames him for getting her into this mess. If she falls, he falls with her.
Mateo isn’t answering Erik’s calls. His buddies remind him that they can’t keep living hidden like rats and need some cash. Mateo knows exactly where he can get some and calls up Maura to blackmail her. She’s still with Bruno who coaches her through the call. Maura and Mateo agree to meet at 2 AM, that she will pay him 300 thousand pesos, and that they will both come ALONE. Of course, Maura will bring Bruno and Erik to ambush Mateo, and Mateo will bring his two buddies.
Alex arrives home and heads to MJ’s/their room where he takes a call from Emiliano. Tio wants MJ to come visit Abuelo with Tiny Tony. He tells her Elena’s latest tale about her and Sandra’s “real” father. MJ questions if this is true. Later Alex comes into the room holding Tony and asks what MJ has decided about going to Toluca. She is going to go and she wants to bring Tony. Alex worries about her and Tony’s safety. “What if it’s a trap by Bruno?” MJ highly doubts this, lets Alex know how safe she feels with him, and that each day she feels his love more and more and feels her love for him growing. She gives both of her cute boys a kiss.
At the 2 AM meet-up, Mateo scares the bejeezus out of Maura who is stationed in her red sports car. Meanwhile Erik and Bruno, and Mateo’s two buddies hide in the shadows.
Recap Part 3:
They all have guns. Just as Mateo takes his cash to count it and is joined by his two buddies, Bruno shoots Mateo. Erik shoots one of the buddies. The other buddy shoots Erik. Bruno shoots that guy and walks over to Mateo’s body to recover the cash and Mateo’s incriminating cell phone. He ignores Erik’s plea for help, and is saved from being shot by a ticked off Erik only because he was too hurt to fire his gun. Maura in the meantime is panicking and screaming her head off. Bruno hops in the driver’s side of her car, tells her to shut up, and they drive off. Back at her Hello Kitty Mansion, she continue to freak out, calls Bruno crazy and a monster, and that she hates him. She wants to go back to her real life. Bruno tells her to basically man up.
Erik has made it to his cousin’s house and falls bleeding onto his floor. His cousin’s wife rushes out to get medical provisions. Later as they bandage him up, they urge him to go to a hospital. Erik refuses, but seems determined to get back at Bruno who left him like a dog in the streets to die, and on top of that never paid him the half mil he promised him for the job.
MJ and Alex make their Toluca plans over breakfast. She does not intend to tell her papa about the latest paternity developments as he’s already distraught over the whole Elena affair. While in Toluca, MJ will not visit Elena or inform her of their presence. The cops will go see Elena while they visit Emiliano to tell him about Fer and Porfirio, then Alex will deposit MJ and Tony at the hotel while Alex meets up with the police and get the 411. Detective Ortiz arrives to inform Alex and Mateo and buddies have been found shot dead. He wonders if Fer could have hired a hit on them. Alex assures him that Fer had neither the opportunity, nor is the type of person who would do such a thing. This seems to satisfy Ortiz. Alex informs him that MJ and Tony will be joining them on the trip to Toluca.
Fer asks Alex not to tell Tio just how bad his condition is, and to NOT let him visit him. Alex reluctantly agrees. In Toluca, when he, MJ and Tony are visiting Emiliano, Alex is clearly uncomfortable telling Tio a half truth. Tio insists on going to visit Fer who is like a son to him. MJ and Alex look guilty as they know that cat will soon be out of the bag.
The PoPo visit Elena, and she does not look happy to see them.

If Jorge were smart, he'd stay in Canada.
If Maura were smart, she'd leave Mexico.
If Erick were smart, he should have shot Bruno.
If Bruno were smart, he wouldn't have had Maura drive a hot red convertible getaway car at a shootout. You know a nosy neighborhood watch type resident of that neighborhood saw everything.
Can I just say that Mr.William looks awesome in any color!!!! No matter what he wears he commands this girls attention.
Loved seeing Maura freak out and totally lose it. I hope her hair starts falling out in clumps from the anxiety she experiences from her plans crumbling down around her well manicured tootsies!
I have a feeling we will see another love-making scene with Alex and MJ soon. She seems to be coming around. Who wouldn't? I mean PUHLEEZ!
Raq-hell...Hmm, was sure seeing Ulises in his Zomieness would have put her in a straight jacket for sure. Maybe. Any thoughts? Does anyone think this will be the rock bottom she needs to get better or the end of the line...mental health wise anyway.
I didn't understand much of the dialogue and will wait for a recap. Just wanted to get in a few thoughts before bed. Must be up early to ship off my oldest to a much anticipated field trip. A Renaissance Fair...Great! My 8 year old son will be seeing real life Elenas...Boobs and all "Hanging" around the fair. She does look like she would fit right in there with the medieval wenches. I didn't think about it until my own MOM pointed it out...Thanks MOM!
Btw, thanks, Sandy. Nice to know I have a mom in Tennessee! :)
SMC.
Carlita i was screaming right along with you to shoot that misrerable SOB but the Villain has to be there for the final so i guess we wait.Maura wants to get back to her real life which one was that lying around gossiping badly about people you considered beneath you. Maybe the other one where you have plotted to break a couple up, then have the woman your rival for the man you desire affections have her kidnapped and her memory erased. How about setting up barely a young 18 year old for date rape. Which real life are you Maura alluding too.Raqhell will get her pretty bow redemption like so many have said which i don't like but this is where the writer is headed to with her story.Yes Elena would fit right in with a Medieval wench and love her oh sh!t look when Det. Ortiz confronted her. SMS Porfirio is so lonely now that he knows the truth he would rather accept MJ as his vision of how his granddaughter should be. He knows instinctually what a liar Elena is i don't believe he believed her one bit.
SMC: ITA. I think the one-ton anvil hanging over Bruno's head is now named 'Erick'. So, back to our Clue game, I say Erick lures Bruno to the cousin's barrio and kills him with a revolver. Erick is too injured to get in close for any chance with a knife.
I still can't stand Gabe.
MJ is very generous with Porfirio. It will make him very happy to see MJ, Alex and baby Tony, even if MJ and Sandra are not his Grandkids. I just love Tio Emiliano. He is a fine friend and a very loving uncle.
Regards Katia, I didn't catch just what she plans on studying at University. Anyone else pick that up? I hope Uncle Emiliano sets up a trust fund for her therapy. She is going to need it.
Maura, sister, you are now an accessory to murder in addition to all of your other offenses. I don't see a lot of juries looking sympathetically at Maura's plight, either. it is only a matter of time before the intelligent looking police officer gets done with Elena in Toluca and heads back to Merida.
Maybe the footprints in the sand we keep seeing are MJ's as she heads off into the sunset with Alex. I am thinking aobut the opening montage, of course.
Pleeze somebody throttle some sense into Maura.
And will someone else take that smirk off of Katia. Don't know who is worse to watch: katia or gabe. So much not there behind their eyes.
And can we have the writers give Alex a break from having to take care of everybody, and just let him get and give some lovin' --in that good way he knows.

Bruno's kill list:
the Judge
Useless
Mateo
Mateo's buddies
Attempted:
Alejandro
Meche
Gabe
Bruno's still got a long ways before he catches up to Fernando of FELS.
I'm missing something here again. Who owns the place that Elena shared with Jorge? And I think Jorge is incredibly horrible when he left. Did he really think he could just walk free of his stupid mind games?!?
SMC
Haven't seen this yet but always look forward to the recaps so yours was a delightful surprise this morning.
Know you must have a raging case of cabin fever by now but very thankful that you could recap. Wishing you sunny skies, warming temperatures and an early Spring!
I was screaming at the tv also--shoot him, shoot him! But it is too early for that. I'm hoping someone should tapes him saying incriminating stuff so he can't make up another lie. So now Eric has a real reason to kill him. He did before but this just seals the deal.
Moora--sorry you are SOL. Hey, let's wake up the whole neighborhood while you are at it. Why does everyone have such a hard time believing that Bruno could kill someone. Seriously people. Get a clue.
How astute of you to comment about Fer's PT being a big-name star, and why-is-she-in-this-'novela. It does seem odd, doesn't it. Well, we'll know if it's a cameo appearance or whatever, by next Wednesday. Telenovela beanie hats will be firmly planted on our heads!
Poor Erik, he really thought Bruno would pay him the 50k pesos. Ha! Cheaper to kill him, since Bruno Almighty can get away with murder, literally, or so he thinks because he has, so far.
Jorge and Bruno 'son tal para cual.' Jorge thinks he can get away with anything, too. There has to be a medical term for this syndrome of ... grandiosity? untouchableness?
Sat on the back of the bus (Southwest!) last night with a gal who told me that she had adopted 3 “special needs” children (addicted mothers) and the trials and tribulations had been the end of her 31 year marriage. There could have been other marital weaknesses as well I guess, but I thought about Raquel...........
Vivi, as I watched all the weather reports this morning and saw the “Snowgeddon” in DC I said, Great!, Good News! We’ll have Vivi longer to comment and recap..thanks for stepping in and helping..
Yeh!!! now I can watch the THREE ARs that I missed while gone! I have a lot to do but I’ll make time for that!
For those who wondered why Erick didn't shoot Bruno, the recap pointed out that Erick tried to, but the pain was too much, and he collapsed before getting off a shot. BTW, I thought Bruno should kill Erick to make sure there were no more witnesses, but as it turns out, if Erick were found dead at the scene, Bruno would be in trouble. So he'd have had to move the body, and that would be a major hassle, what with Maura screaming. Turns out that with Erick getting up on his own, that's good for Bruno, because so far, Bruno isn't tied to the murder. But look out for Erick!
It's also interesting that Maura had no problem getting $25,000 in cash between afternoon and evening, and Bruno and Erick had no problem getting guns. Earlier in the novela, no one had guns.
Maura loves fashion accessories. Now SHE'S an accessory - to kidnapping, to murder, to date rape. I still feel a little sorry for her, as just about every scheme was Bruno's idea, and she just went along with them. But I realize she does have to be punished, and I still hope she goes to the cops and tells all.
The footprints at in the sand - could they be the judge that Bruno pushed over the falls???? Someone said the legs didn't look feminine.
Speaking of feminine, I definitely enjoyed Elizabeth Alvarez (Marcia from LFMB, Jimena from FELS) as the physical therapist. If I ever get hurt, I hope she's available. :)
Action is really picking up, and I so agree with Elna June that Bruno blew it big time just leaving Erick there. (Oh, and by the way - good shooting Bruno! practice much?)He's arrogant enough to think the guy is still under his thumb, but I think all the previous times erick has been ticked off to do Bruno's bidding have just exploded for him and he's done. He was going to shoot him (which of course we can't have - not the end yet) but he lives to shoot another day!
And yes, this should be raq's "rock bottom". There is now Raq and Fer to go through some major therapy and rehab, so methinks we may see a jump in the action over the next week. One of those "one month later" or some such. Think?
Add me to the list of not being a Gabe fan. I cannot put my head around those two, but that's where we're going I guess.
Viewerville knows Fer is right about Dr. H.We all saw his hurt face in the hospital. Hope Tio takes him in for his rehab for a little peace. Recognized the therapist, but at this late stage, I doubt Fer would suddenly fall in love with a younger woman and leave Vic for someone else.
I give it at the most one more episode and then major action between MJ and Alex. We have been deprived of our shirtless wonder too long.
And if drunk -- or should I say newly reformed -- Raquel can figure out Maura's kidnapping involvement, why can't sober super sleuth Alex????
And I echo all those who think Bruno made a big-time mistake leaving Erick behind...does not bode well.
Again, Vivi, terrific recap!!
CubsFan
All Bruno had to keep pushing was her getting Alex back her main weakness, no one forced her to make the choices she made. As much as she kept saying she was afraid and scared why didn't she just go to the cops then.
The problem would have been solved and the cops would have been waiting on Dr.Demented and arrested him,Elena and Bruno. So miss Maura didn't take that option she went and followed Bruno even though she hesitated for a moment willingly.
She has to be punished plain and simple i would say for all of her crimes if she isn't killed by the final she should spend the rest of her life in prison, with the people she thinks are so much beneath her.
Maybe prison is in store for Erick as well, poor guy!
What will happen to Elena? I hope she doesn't escape punishment and lurk around Merida, Alex has enough on his hands to have to deal with her!
I think it needs to be mentioned that (for me!) paying for your crime and redemption are to different things. If you have to spend 10-20 in the Big House and while there you take part in the prison ministries, see the error of your ways, truly turn your life around, I'm OK with that! The problem is figuring out who has REALLY turned their life around!
It's got to be prison for Maura. No one has mentioned that Maura was modeling her prison garb during the payoff scene last night--a brown jump-suity two piece outfit.
Does anyone know if Wednesday is going to be a two-hour affair? I'm going to be out of town and I want to make sure I have it all.
Newbie in Md
As much as most of you want Maura to be charged as accesory to murder, we have to keep in mind that Mexican law and the Criminal Justice system there is different. Things like this are not the Mexican equivalent of the USA and just speaking spanish. So we have to wait and see how things develop in the eyes of a Mexican.
I have a feeling that Jorge will be arrested and extradited to Mexico. I don't think that guy is getting away scott free.
Raquel has hit rock bottom and I'm the only one that hopes she makes the most out of it. A Sobering experience, no pun intended. Erik is now living on borrowed time. If he ever gets better, I envision him coming forward to Alejandro and confessing about every single thing that he has done with Bruno with Victoria,Hernan,Maria Jose,Ezequiel,Felipa,Paula,Pedro,Raquel and all other people listening in. Maura does the same.
By Monday's episode, I see a cowering Bruno all without allies left and hiding in a discrepit building with no where to run.
As Wednesday's Final rolls along, we see Elena,Raquel,Maura together with Alex and company lead the final assault on Bruno. (Elena and Maura having confessed earlier have pledged to help Alex)Alex and Bruno come face to face after some cat and mouse chase,During the fisticuffs,Bruno get the upper hand and temporarily knocks Alex out then runs away with The whole cast of the show in tow, The police Arrive with Hernan and a now wheel chair bound Fernando(who was briefed of the confessions) Being pushed by Katya. The police through the use of a bull horn tell Bruno to surrender because it is too late. Bruno at the very top of the building realizes that he has lost and is really cornered with nowhere to go. so with fires ablaze in his eyes, he jumps to his death. The whole cast now walk slowly around his dead body encircling his corpse.
Later, his body is cremated and his ashes tossed to the ocean. Victoria burns every single picture of Bruno that she has,It has been told that Maura and Elena Spend 3 years in prison.(Just for you ladies) After Maura gets out, she reconciles with Lissette and becomes a social worker. Elena gets out and lives a more simple and humble life alone. She visits Maria Jose and Tony every Christmas but Pedro and Paula have no relations with her. So basically a reformed Elena just has MJ and T. Katya is in the US pursuing her Veterinary studies, Paula and Gabriel are friends, Roberto and Raquel reunite and care for the young Victoria.Chucho,Pedro and Meche all live in one of the Chalets(what's going on here?)Porfirio dies later, followed by Emiliano. Then you have your wedding. FIN.
Ibarramedia
The last 5 episodes should be really exciting and action packed. It may not have the highs and lows of the crescendo of MEPS in terms of suspense but it was action filled most of the way. Good story and less implausible situations compared to MEPS and FELS. Notice I said less, not Zero.
I want to modify Bruno's murder list:
1)the Judge
2)Ulises
3)Mateo
4)Mateo's buddie #1
5)Mateo's buddy #2
6) The snake bitten gentleman that Alex helped in the beginning
Attempted:
1)Alejandro
2)Meche
3)Gabe
Jorge's known murder (he may have done others)
1) Sandra
I say this because As a Dr.he could have done much much more to help cure her rather than just keep her there while waiting for Maria Jose to be kidnapped, subjected to amnesia then later presented as Sandra.
Ibarramedia
I too think that Raquel has hit rock bottom and hope that she is one step from getting herself on the road to recovery. I don't think that Elena and Maura will get off so easily, nor should they, considering the seriousness of their crimes. But neither of them has killed anyone with their own hands, so I don't think death is in store for them. Just jail (but way more than 3 years for Maura!). MJ seems like she's ready to cut all ties to Elena, but she is a forgiving soul, so I can see her at some point having a relationship with a repentant Eelena.
Also wanted to say that I agree with your admiration for MJ/JB. A lot of folks on here don't like her for some reason. But I've always liked her big toothy smile, and when she has a bit more flesh on her like she does now, she has a really nice figure, like you mentioned. Yes, she does look really spectacular in those tight jeans (better than all the other actresses in this novela)- she has wide set hips and a nice butt. Her upper frame is really bony, but she has a nice rack (thanks Kat)that looks real, which is surprising, giving what a narrow upper body she has. If they are fake, then her plastic surgeon did a fantastic job because they "hang" like real ones, her stapless bras actually look like they have to work when she wears a strapless top, and they don't have that gravity defying, perky, spherical look of the fake ones (like our friend Gardenia in MEPS). Also impressed to learn all the languages JB speaks. Thanks for sharing. (OK, I'm taking off my guy hat now, and will go back to admiring Alex and Fer and their abs.) :)
Almost everyone has turned their life around in this story:
Alex turned from a love 'em and leave 'em type to a good husband and father;
MJ turned from putting Paula and Pedro first and lying all the time to putting her husband first and putting her trust in him;
Victoria turned from caring what other people think to not caring;
Roberto turned from a lazy parasite to someone who wants to earn his way and a good friend;
Pedro turned from a lazy ass mooching off his daughter to someone who wants to support himself, LEGALLY;
Lisette turned from a gossipy party girl to someone who wants to do good and be a friend.
People in the process of turning their lives around:
Katia is learning who really cares about her, and it wasn't Team Mexitrash (except Lisette);
Raquel has a desire to live without the bottle;
Paula is learning that money doesn't always make the man;
Porfirio, I think will learn that you don't need blood to be family.
Characters beyond redemption:
(RIP) Useless: Useless was all about money and a good time and he didn't care who got hurt in the process.
(RIP) Mateo: Mateo was all about the money and he didn't care who got hurt and had he lived he would have kept sucking Maura dry. It never would have stopped.
to be continued...
I will admit that I like a whole lot of gorgeous women. All kinds, but I primarilly like Really athletic, strong ones. But I don't go all Oh she is so hot, I want to _____ her!!! here. I like discussing the plot and storylines logically. Instead of oohing and ahhhing the person of our choice. No knock on the ladies here. Just saying. :)
Ibarramedia
I think you make a VERY good point, there have been many good "turn arounds" in this novela and.....I love your list!
Iberra, great Sorti ending! I knew there was a good reason to have your creativity back on the Sorti blog.
Dr. Mengele: He couldn't have cared less if Sandra lived or died. He wishes Porfirio to die so he can get his hands on his money. He sent Useless to his death. He's washed his hands of Elena. And all the while pompously telling Elena that this big time research clinic in Vancouver wants to hire him. No Winter Olympics 2010 for you, Dr. Mengele. You gots to go.
Elena: Elena "might" have had some redemption if she had shown any caring for Maria Jose as Maria Jose, Paula and Tony. She doesn't. She cares more about her horses and garden than her own children. As she told Useless a while back, she feels "nada" for them. I can see MJ pulling an Aurora from MEPS and trying to keep in contact with Elena. The difference is Barbara from MEPS actually did care for Aurora and her baby, even if in a sick twisted way, and Elena couldn't care less. Elena will end up going to jail for her role in MJ's kidnapping just long enough that her beauty fades behind bars and she won't be able to dig for gold again.
Maura is beyond redemption because the only person she cares about is herself and she refuses to take responsibility for her actions. She would rather Lisette suffer by herself than to have a friend of a "lower class" comfort her. She looks down on Maria Jose for being lower class, yet Maura's doing all sorts of lower class things like date rape, participating in murder and kidnapping. She certainly didn't care about Alex's feelings when she sashayed into his office and told him "Why don't you just let MJ die and move on (with me)?" in front of Roberto. Raquel is suffering and trying to refuse alcohol and she offers Raq a copa! Not once in this story has she shown she cares about Alex as a PERSON. She only sees him as a social status to glom on to. Her punishment will be to go to jail and mingle with the lower classes for the rest of her days.
BRUNO was always beyond redemption because he's been consumed with hate his entire life and now the hate is bubbling over into a frenzy. He must be stopped. I'm still convinced he had Antonio run down.
I have not had time to read this weeks recaps or even watch.
I am just now starting to feel among the living after my travel plans, due to weather, turned into a 21 hour nightmare of waiting in airports and flying thousands of extra miles to get from Cleveland to Utah.
Looking forward to catching up!

What i do have a problem with her IMO is her over acting or emoting in her scenes and i started to notice this from others who commented upon it when she was in Tontas.
Funny when i saw her in Heridas de Amor i didn't think this but like i have said before it could be the actor or the direction that they are given from the director that makes it seem that way.
I'll speak on this more once the final has come to pass, because i saw the original Tu O' Nadie maybe you'll understand my criticism.
That's clever, Hombre. I didn't pay attention to monikers while reading, but as soon as I read that I figured it was you.
Vivi, LOL, taking off the guy hat! Hilarious. I think JB is cute as well, but I'm a little tired of the braid now.
Ibarramedia: I like discussing the plot and storylines logically. Instead of oohing and ahhhing the person of our choice.
Ibarramedia, more power to you. LOL, I am super guilty of ooohing and aahhing WL.
Vivi, thanks again for the great recap.
Dipity, miss you!

I hope you don't mind my asking you a few questions. Are you tri-lingual? Do you follow Bollywood Novelas? If so, how do you compare them to Mexican and Colombian novelas?
I don't see much mercy for Maura - she has done some pretty nasty things, even though she has been pulled in by Bruno to doing worse than she might have.
I still can't stomach Gabe, either, yuck.
Ibarramedia
Probably the same way Paula and Gabe are getting together now.
Gabriel Soto & family are the 3rd photo here

At first I thought that Irene was Jimena FELS but then chg my mind. Sure enough it's Elizabeth Álvarez. I don't think I saw her huge blue eyes though.
As you MJ's kidnapping with malicious intent to harm by erasing her own daughter's memories to commit fraud to gain access to Porfirio's fortune with the help of her husband.By passing MJ off as Sandra.
Let's also include two marriages while still legally married to Pedro, oassing off one of their twins as Porfirio's granddaughter even though his son went along with and told her to say this to his father she had plenty nof opportunities after his death to come clean.
That's another act of willful fraud, and now her latest lie when i saw that scene it seem to me that she wanted to give Porfirio such a shock that he would have a heart attack and die.
Then the environment she subjected poor Sandra too which drove her to a drug over dose.
She really is such a disgusting creature, that has the fortune to have three kids and didn;'t appreciate the blessing she was given it's all about her.
Now as for the laws in Mexico and here yes we have been told how different they are, but if Cris and Natalia on the filmsiest of evidence can be put on trial from cut out words in a letter on ENDA.
Elena and Maura with their misdeeds are slowly being bought to light should be doing some serious time unless they are offed by the respective men Bruno and Dr. Demented they have linked themselves too.
Disclaimer: I haven't been exposed to that many novelas in general. I only saw CCEA and now Sortilegio.
Recapping does seem extremely fun, but I have this crazy schedule right now. Maybe in the future though. Thanks for asking!
And thinking back on that 'I wash my hands of you' Eric may go down too if he doesn't wash his hands of Bruno. Does he have any reason to believe Bruno is actually going to pay him!?
Now I'm just imagining but. Is it possible that our brillant writer - and I'm not being sarcastic - is going to come out with Paula being the lover's child and that rich lover thinking he was running off with his woman and baby? That would oh-so pink ribbon Paula into big bucks. And abuelo would have some kin. Elena would just act like 'what's the difference'.
I have missed your comments. Oh, my gosh, I had forgotten you were from Maryland. We have heard from others in the snow-zone, how are you holding up?
Susanlynn; here's an idea. Let's ship Maura-Barbie, complete with her high-end tropical Merida wardrobe AND the 5 inch heels to N. Eastern PA to do show shoveling for the elderly poor for a while. Then she can go to jail.

You, too are in the snow zone? Oh, my. I suppose with your commitment to physical culture you do your own show-shoveling? As a weight lifter you must have an advantage over the average Joe/Jane out there trying to clear their respective driveways.
Jarocha i have a question for you when it comes to remakes of novelas and the new version of them. Does the producer have a lot of influence on how they want the new version to be rewritten or is it all the writers coming up with maybe new twist in the story line or a collaboration between the writer and producer of the novela?
Elna June, My lifting regimen and sports background most definitely helped a great deal. The first Blizzard of Dec. 19, I shovelled for 6 hours straight. Wore me out and whole body was aching. The next was easier for 38 minutes. This past Saturday I shovelled from 4:30 pm to 12:30-1:00 am. Tuesday, I broke it up into several parts. Every 2 or 3 hours. My brother came by and helped me shovel the roof of the extention to the main house which is way bigger and wider and longer than my already wide and long drive way. Took us from 7:30-11:30. We had to do the roof because the extention was built with a flat roof as opposed to the regular angled one.
Because of the snow, I could not do my regular intense weigh training, so I considered the shovelling a work out. Some lifting plus steady state and alternating with increased cardio if you will.
I asked my online friends if there was a workout geared specifically for snow shovelling because I still feel like I went 15 rounds of boxing. I still did ok though, because it was nonstop without a break. The years that I stopped lifting because of working way to much like 12-20 hours a day, I was gassed out just shovelling an inch.
If you could only see the mountains of snow shovelled here. Lol.

Elna June, I like your idea about shipping Maura to NE Pennsylvania to shovel snow for the elderly poor. However, on her way, please have her stop in Maryland to shovel snow as well for the almost-elderly not-so-poor :-). My hilly street still hasn't seen a snowplow.
On another point, does anyone think Fernando's nether regions are also paralyzed?
Angelli Nesma likes to change things almost completely and she trust her writers with how they want to take the story but she guides them to keep things in line. After the first 40 episodes or so if you take a peak at Muñeca Brava or Sos Mi Vida those stories will look completely different from Al Diablo Con Los Guapos or Un Gancho al Corazon.
Nicandro Díaz's follows the stories he remakes very closely, just adding some thrills and small changes according to the feedback he receives. From what I understand, he is very open to suggestions from the public. Most of the changes made in MEPS were suggestions made by the audience.
Carla Estrada likes to lean back on her writers but she always makes sure to add her personal seal, and she likes to add sensuality. She made sure she had the main characteres making love under a waterfall back in 1994 in Alondra (not a remake, but an adaptation from a novel) and she always asks to have enough passion and love between the main stars. In Te Sigo Amando, the remake of Monte Calvario, she had the main couple end up separated at the end wich shocked the audience but Carla said the female protagonist had been robbed of everything by the villains of the story so she needed time for herself. In the original, the main couple stayed together.
When Carla started working with María Zarattini though, I think she let Zarattini decide on many things. Amor Reál is much more faithful to Bodas de Odio (Except for the sexy parts) than Sortilegio is of Tu o Nadie. But nobody had remade Bodas de Odio and that novela was made in 1983, while Tu o Nadie was remade in 1998 by Jose Alberto Castro (producer of Rubí) with the name Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma. The second version was a big hit so people still remembered the story so obviously they had to change it a little more.

I'm refreshing my memory from the clips on youtube and i don't know why Carla just couldn't have kept with the 121 episodes it was.
Considering how lengthy most novelas are today i consider that a very short novela time period.
Now we are going to be saddled with the Hasta Dinero and CS novelas for a very long time in their time slots.
I think money is the reason novelas are being extended. If it's any consolation Mi Pecado is only 115 episodes.

As you said mention once before oncce you invest your time and effort in following a novela it hard to stop watching it even if becomes a trainwreck.
I remember another novela he was in as the lead with Edith Gonzalez that i liked also.
The one thing i found curious and disappointed with him was his criticism of William but William is not even playing his part that he originated David Zepeda is. It came acrosss as sour grapes to me.
Snow was unprecedented in the greater DC area. Hey, ibarramedia--I do my own shoveling, there's a lot and I'm no spring chicken!
I lost many of my azaleas and my prized rhododendron but worst of all a 35 yr-old, 20+ ft. spruce, toppled over, but fell away from the house. We were fortunate in that we only lost electricity for almost 6 hours. Just enough time for the house to start getting cold and yearning for a cup of coffee. Didn't have to miss ENDA or Sortie! The sun was out today.

I just have to say this though, As much as we hate Bruno, I really doubt he had anything to do with Antonio being ran over. If it comes out that he actually did, then fine. I will eat crow. But it does not make any sense at all during that time. He was just hanging around the school because he knew his parents were going to see his teachers. I'm sure they told him that off camera while at home. He might have been an ass but he was nowhere the criminal he is now. We shall see.

I also would use my creativity on something original. In my past year watching TNs, I learned that 90% of them are remakes. In some cases 3rd generation remakes. I would do away with that. Either the writing staff sucks or maybe it is pure laziness that they cannot come up with new material.
From what I read here, the remakes ususally are not as good as the original work. Things i value most are the story, plot, character development and attention to detail. I would hate inconsistencies and logical fallacies. Therefore everything that happens must be explainable without requiring the use of a 'beanie'.

Ibarramedia. I think right now remakes are done because Televisa has much more competition than before. Back in the day, before internet, other networks and cable were available, producers didn't have to worry about their novelas not working because they KNEW they were going to have good numbers so they took more chances and they paid more attention to details and slower build ups. Making a remake, even so far as the early 90's was more because the producer liked the story and they wanted to give it their own spin. I can remember many novelas from that time that were original work and so far haven't been remade from that era. Back then the proportion was aroun 60% originals, 40% remakes.
Now a days they remake novelas because instead of taking the chance to creat a new story they prefer to used formulas that worked before. I would not say all remakes are bad. Amor Real was a good remake, so was Corazón Salvaje '93, and I'm loving Gancho (though that one has nothing to do with the original now). I think a remake can be done well if the producer is good, but it can be awful too if the producer is lazy. Sometimes remakes help to freshen up the story like Amor Real did. There are some novelas I'd like to see remade by a good producer just to see how they would recreate the story now and some are so perfect that I don't believe a remake should be made at least until everybody forgets them.

It is this fear of taking a chance that prevents creativity. Once in a while, in everything, you have to take a chance. When you take a chance and you succeed because you tried something different, you become an innovator.
I'm sure with feedback and focus groups, they can come out with fresh ideas. A good way of getting the public involved for newness would be for Televisa to sponsor a script writing contest for the public. The winner gets to have their story made into a TN. The writers of course will clean it up a bit and polish it.
In NFL Football, everyone copies each other. It is a copycat league. By the same token, the coaches are daring and imaginative enough that they keep coming up with innovative offensive and defensive strategies. So it is also a constantly evolving league.
Each year the strategies and tendencies change 30% of the time according to retired Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs.
My point in this is that TNs don't have to be static. Amor Real and Alborada and Pasion are my favorite TNs. I discovered them upon the recommendation of the people here. I watch the reruns of Amor Real and will obtain a full set commercial free in the future. Great stories and the number one attraction to me is the period setting because I am a history buff and I stated this numerous times during Sortilegio's run and during MEPS and FELS as well.
Maybe they will also copy the American and British shows or movies. I guess that would be interesting. Perhaps they can base a novela on some comic books and newspaper comic strips. They can run with that idea too.
