Corazon Salvaje July 9, 2010 Renato needs to get kicked in the nuts

Jimena and Mdr speak of how love shouldn’t care about social status, money, age etc. Jimena is happy, telling her Gabriel still loves her but she sheds tears over Mdr’s story. “Even though we have been separated here in Earth, in death no one will be able to tear us appart.” Mdr thinks back when Juan de Dios told her he would fight for their love to the death. She gets adamant with Jimena, asking her not to let Gabriel let go.

Salma’s eyes brighten up with dollar signs (or pesos) after her “grandfather” let her know she is the heir of a great fortune. There goes “the truth” she was about to tell them. Never mind Branco. Oh wait, she is stupider than that, she thinks that money will lure Branco… poor, deluded child.

Gabriel, looking all pale and sickly wants to get up when he finds out Branco is jailed. Since they swapped blood now they are bffs and have a bromance going on. Dr Pablo screams at him that he cannot get up and that he won’t be responsible if he dies.

Griselda and Servando are walking along the port evilly cackling. Haha, Branco will never get out and Gabriel will probably die. We are awesome and we rock. The alguacil shows up and tells then that Noel Vidal wants to take Branco and Servando to debate (?) and the drags them over. Haha, not laughing so loud now, are ya?

Back at Salma’s heartbreaking lies, her grandma gets up and wants to say something important. “While you and Mariella were out we decided we help Branco and pay a layer for him.” Poor people, they are so happy to have their “daughter” back they will be so heartbroken when they find out the truth.

Servando and Griselda are screaming at Branco, you did it you did it! Branco screams back, no I didn’t, I didn’t. And that was the extent of the big debate or whatever it’s called in the alguacil’s office. This is all it took for the alguacil to lay all fault with Branco? Even my mom needed more proof than that when I would bother my little brother.

Gabriel is still insisting in going over, even though he can barely breath without whizzing. He and Pablo argue and I don’t think it’s good for Gabriel to get so agitated.

Braco is cruelly dragged over a wagon, where he is going to be taken to a maximum security prison. All the gypsies crawl in, including a determined looking Jimena. The guards raise their funny looking guns.

Fulgencio receives a letter claiming someone wants to kill him, then the scene flashes to the seamstress, that seems to have tired of having her bed used for bow chichi chichi bow bow. “It smells like sin in here.” I don’t think that’s sin you are smelling. She muses about her plan, sending him another letter and then asking him for money to tell him more.

Federico comes to talk to Fulgencio and he informs him of the letter he received. You can see him panicking already, and stammers he out, oh well, you can’t believe some letter. Fulgencio storms off to find out what’s going on and Fed is upset.

The rest of the gypsies are speaking against Servando and Grisdelda and they all swarm around. A couple of them are dressed as clowns, hard to take them seriously. Gabriel shows up limping and holding a cane and everyone erupts in cheers. He hugs Branco and he and Jimena look at each other tenderly. Gabriel got there very quickly, didn’t he?

Leo and Rod are in Aimee’s room, Aimee is crying in her bed, telling them that she might lose her child if she gets upset. Whaaa, whaa, whaa. Leo scoffs. Rod convinces her to treat her better only if for their grandchild and she grudgingly accepts this.

Noel barges in. “I have something important to say.” Renato sent him a telegram and Juan del Diablo is in the coast guard’s possession. Rod is very proud. Aimee shakes her head and Noel is upset and disappointed.

Regina and Renato, still arguing at the hotel. It’s time for Regina to slap him across the face and beat him up silly. She screams at him that she wants to see Juan, now! I think finally Renato is getting it. “Damn Juan, he is taking everything from me.” Yes, now go, divorce Aimee and find a nice girl so you can forget all about Regina and Juan.

Gabriel apparently didn’t see who tried to kill him, but he vouches for his bff Branco. The alguacil says fine, but what about Brigitte? In the nick of time, Noel comes in. He always does that, doesn’t he? He was probably listening behind the door and waiting for the best moment to come in because he erupts saying, “well, you searched the gypsy camp and didn’t find any guns, and Brigitte was killed with a gun, so haha.” Well, not including the haha.

Fed angrily gives Ser and Gris the warning letter to Fulgencio and demands of them to do something.

Back in the streets, the gypsies rejoice because Branco is free. That was kind of easy. Gabriel and Jimena kiss and Branco sees them as “Angela” runs to him. “Mi amor!” but he pushes her away and calls her a filthy liar. I hope he finds out Jimena is the real Angela soon so he can forget about “the blanca”.

Aimee meditates on Celia’s advice over finding a man. If she hasn’t gotten pregnant with Juan or Renato, and she did it a lot with both of them, what makes her think one night with one guy (or even a couple), will get her pregnant. Besides, it would take forever for her to start showing. In any case, she has a thought, a very very stupid one and asks Celia to bring Dr Miranda over because she is “sick”. Celia says “but you’re not sick.” Aimee pulls on her braids. She better cut them or gather them around her head or she’s going to lose them soon. She runs off to look for Pablo.

Fulgencio asks Gris’ to read him the cards. She tells him that there is nothing to fear and he looks at her strangely, asking him if she likes surprises. I want to reward you for your services. He kisses her hand. Meet me at the caves tonight. Do I smell another body to add to the count?

Salma is raging to her new “mom” about how Jimena talked smack about her to Branco and now he doesn’t like her no more. Mariella is shocked and sad for her daughter. “Jimena told me I’m just a whitey.” Salma is now ready to go to Puebla. “Those gypsies will never see you again,” Mariella reassures her. Salma thinks that if I’m not going to have Branco’s love, at least I will have money. I suppose money could buy her another man, but not love.

Jimena, Gabriel, Pablo and Gabriel at at Dr. Pablo’s clinic and Jimena declares to Branco that he is a great guy but that he loves Gabriel. Branco takes it extremely well. What a nice guy. He tells them he needs to go and most likely also leave Veracruz.

Jimena and Gabriel stay alone on the bed and start making out. Careful Gabriel, you might pop a stitch.

It’s night time and Aimee is waiting to be “attended by the doctor”. She stares at herself lovingly in the mirror and sprays her self… one… two… three… four, eight times. Oh jeez.

Back in the boat, the prisoners are planning an escape. How do you escape a boat? There is a horrible storm and the boat is swaying back and forth violently. They all scream we are going to die!

The captain was injured in the storm, something fell on his head, I guess. The other marineros are in a panic, no one else knows how to pilot the plane! I mean, the boat. Really, no second mate, and this is supposed to be a coastguard boat.

Slow Celia goes out to go fetch Dr. Miranda. She is not a very good actress. Pablo walks in and Aimee is swaying around the room, batting her eyelashes and her fan. I wonder which is going faster. Pablo might be chocking on the fumes from her perfume. Dr asks to examine her. “I will do anything you say.” She leans forward, showcasing her two apples. He sits on the bed with her to check her blood pressure and she just sooo subtly grabs him and starts kissing him. He seems to like it.

Back in the boat of morons that don’t know how to pilot, they let out the prisoners so Juan and the rest can steer. The wheel literally looks like it’s going to shatter in pieces. The captain woke up and went up to the deck, screaming the machinery isn’t working. I’m confused.

Dr Pablo pulls back. He has figured it out, you are not really pregnant. She shoos him away because she is extremely offended. She kicks him out, with no need because he was dying to get out. Worst person ever to have picked for her little plan.

Regina is begging and crying, please Renato, I want to see Juan. Renato tells her that its impossible because there is a big storm out. She starts crying. The coast guard might be in the storm, says Regina, yes well if that happened surely they will all drown and die. Thank you captain optimism.

Aimee was talking to herself and Leo comes in to find out what is wrong, why was Dr. Miranda. She claims she felt awful and called the doctor over. “Maybe I’m too excited because my husband is coming soon.” Leo doesn’t believe a word you are saying, I’m doing this just for your future son. Leo tells her that tomorrow they need to go to the Puerto. They need to stop Juan’s prosecution because otherwise everything might come out to light.

Remigio and Juan are tugging on the wheel, rain is pouring down savagely. Very dramatic scene. Everyone gritting their teeth.

Regina can’t believe why Renato would wish Juan would die. He explains how he was lied to over and over by Juan. He claims Juan always hated him. Regina says it’s not true. “Juan hates the whole world, because his father made him swear vengeance.” “You are blind, Juan is good and generous.” “No, you are the one who is blind, what did he do to you?” “He opened my eyes.” “And closed the eyes that used to loved me.”

He says the mistake he made with Aimee can’t erase their love. He hugs her from behind, claiming to love her and asking him to love him back again. Will you kick him in the nuts already?

Sarah, there have been plenty of Friday recappers who didn't post until late Saturday or Sunday. Sweet of you to ask, but remember, this is a volunteer job and you have to take your own life and needs into account.

Posting before the recap so I don't know what was said between Renato and Regina. But....she is more gracious than I am. If a man who kidnapped me away from my husband was pawing me like Renato was Regina, I'd cold-cock him in a heartbeat. That guy has a lot of nerve and is dimwitted as they come.

Thank you, Sarah! Look forward to your recap.

I have posted this permalink to the sidebar, so you can use it when you post your recap.

Then all the discussion will be in the same place.

I just watched the episode, and it was pretty exciting! Big storm at sea and Gabriel gets Branko out of prison! That latter was very nice.

Very funny to see Aimee trying to smooch up Dr. Pablo. She squirted her atomizer like 10 times before he got there; I'm surprise he wasn't asphyxiated.

I am worried that the guard is going to shoot Juan, though; why else would the first officer have told the guard to be ready to do so.

Thank you for the discussion post, Sarah! Sunday afternoon sounds perfectly fine for me. :)

Okay. After so many pillow and "I have to get knocked up somehow" scenes finally the good doctor verified officially what I wanted to say for 3 months but didn't dare because it would've been a spoiler: No, Aimee isn't pregnant. :)
(She's either very lucky or infertile since she slept every day with Renato and every second day with Juan. In the previous version she got pregnant but didn't know who the father was.)

The newest adaptation of La mentira started this week in Mexico. I haven't had the chance yet to watch the first 5 episodes, but it seems to be good. As I said before, the protagonists are Silvia Navarro and Juan Soler, and in my opinion they will make una pareja preciosa. :) The telenovela is produced by Carlos Moreno who made En nombre de amor and Bajo la misma piel.
The antagonists are José Ron (Juro que te amo) and Jessica Coch (Mi pecado), Lisardo (CS) and Rocío Banquells (CCEA, Pasión).

Guess how many actors from CS are participating in this telenovela?
Sebastián Zurita - Gabriel
Luis Gatica - Remigio
Lisardo - Federico (gawd, he looks gorgeous)
René Casados - our beloved Noel
Silvia Manríquez - Madame Marlene

When I look at the promo pictures I have a strong deja vu feeling. :)

Fun facts. As we know there are plenty of characters in CS whose name starts with and "R": Regina, Renato, Rodrigo, Remigio.
And take a look at the character list of Cuando me enamoro: Renata (Navarro), Rafael (Zurita), Roberta (Coch), Roberto (Casados - btw, Sebastián Rullí plays the younger version of the character) and Regina (Julieta Rosen). :)

Regina, Renato, Rodrigo, Remigio
+ Rosenda

Aribeth, Thanks for those pictures. You're right - big improvement for Lisardo from the Feddy "Prince Charming" look. He actually is handsome! And that picture of Sylvia Manriquez with the little girls is precious.

I actually think it's hysterical that no one ever knocks on a door at the finca. If she'd gotten there a few seconds earlier, Leo would have walked in on Aimless trying to molest the doctor. I give Pablo 10 gold stars for being the first guy to reject her. Way to go Doc!

No doubt Aimless is infertile. All that perfume she sprays on herself has probably caused her ovaries to shrivel.

The scenes with Branko, Jimena and Gabe were wonderful. Branko has turned out to be a great guy, almost (but not quite) a gypsy version of Noel.

I hate to say it, but I have this feeling that something is about to happen to Remegio.

Don't worry about the recap Sarah. I agree with you Barbara. I would've elbowed Renato in the gut. He was standing way too close to Regina and practically breathing down her neck. You could see that she was trying to put some distance between them. I'm afraid something will happen to Remi too. I thought it was interesting that they needed Juan to try to steer the ship through the storm since the captain was hurt. The scenes with Jimena, Gabe, and Branko were sweet. Salma still thinks she can win Branko's heart. Good luck with that LOL. Glad that Dr. Pablo resisted Aimee and realized that she's not pregnant. Actually, I'm surprised she didn't get pregnant the many times she and Juan made cave love and she and Renato bunny hopped.

Come to think of it. At first, I thought maybe Aimee was pregnant because she was faint and nauseous a few months back before she and Renato married. I guess apparently the writers changed their minds?

C'mon now, Aimee pregnant? That is too horrifying to consider. The child would probably be a perfect reincarnation of Rod and Leo - nighmarish to say the least. And Aimee having to muss her hair during labor and then breast feed a baby? No way she'd do it, just as no way she would ever live on a ship like Regina. I agree with everyone that Branko has certainly redeemed himself and deserves a whole lot better than Salma. Looking forward to Sarah's recap as I miss so much have such limited Spanish skills.

That is just fine to wait Sarah. Like Judy B. said it is wonderful that you are volunteering to do this so thank you in advance.

I also was wondering why Juan had to steer the ship. The Captain didn't have a first mate or anyone that knew what they were doing. What about when the Captain sleeps.

I thought it was so funny when Aimee sent Celia to get the Doctor. I said oh boy is Aimee barking up the wrong man on this one. I was afraid for just a second he was going to disappoint me but he got it together in a hurry and put her in her place.

And yes Regina you need to smack Renato up side the head.

Hi Sarah, don't worry be happy.Posting today or tomorrow is fine with us. Regina is really trying my patience .How do you calmly talk to a guy, your brother-in-law, who just run a freight train through your life. This is where you bite him as hard as you can if he dares touches you or come within 2ft of you,you gouge his eyes out.How is he going know what Jaun means to you.Talking doesn't work with Renato. He keeps thinking Regina has been brainwashed by Jaun. Aime would have taken care of him by now.
Regina,Regina make me proud. Show your anger.

Hanna

Sarah we look forward to your recap.

One of the things that is interesting (I'm trying to have patience with our lovers being separated with this meditation) about the Ren/Reggie mess is the true mental and emotional challenge that situation is for Reggie. We know she standards, decency, and most importantly her love for Juan will keep from succumbing to Ren. However, one of the reasons why she might not be slicing and dicing Ren is he was her LIFE and she was going to have no life b/c he married her sister. Now (though w/completely wrong motives) he is begging her to be his. Even the good doctor locked lips with Aimee for more than a few seconds before pushing her away whereas Reggie was forced to kissed Ren and then slapped him. I think her past feelings are the only thing keeping her from going crazy on Ren but if he keeps pushing it, she may hurt him (both mentally and emotionally).

Karen, I keep wondering if Regina doesn't get any gratification at all from Renato being near and devoting such thought and emotion to her finally.

I was almost sure she was feeling something when he was embracing her and touching her. It would be just nuts if she didn't, after desiring him all that time and being totally rebuffed.

Sarah, don't worry about posting till the weekend, sounds fine to me. I usually watch it fridays but was disappointed that Juan wasn't on it very much. I felt like yelling at the tv when Aimee was trying to seduce the doctor. I thought for sure he was a goner until he must of realized that he was suppose to be in love with Rosenda. Thank god! I guess Aimee will have to find someone else to do the nasty with. I wish Regina would just knock Renato on his selfish ass. I was glad to see Jimena and Gabriel together and Branko freed. Terrylee from Ashtabula

For those impressed by Arcely playing the twins so well, check out Lucero playing triplets in Lazos de Amor. One is blind and sweet, one is the spoiled b!tch, and the other is their long lost sister who was raised in a working class home. In this scene they reunite for the first time. Lucero plays the three in a very subtle way, but still very different. Must have been a drag to film all those scenes three times (at least) to get all the angles with each sister, but I'm surprised by how well they did it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTz22WqRH1k&feature=related

Vivi, that YouTube post was such a treat. Who is the galan actor with the sort of 50's Rock n'roll hair-do? Do you know? He looks very familiar, although very very young. Aribeth, the videos are also appreciated and I agree, it's good we to confirm that Aimee's pregnancy is fake. So, now what does she do? It's too late to find a sperm donor. The timing woudn't work out. So who will be the second, after the doctor, to call this one? Leo?

These discussion postings are a big help. Thanks so much to all contributors.

Hi All,
I don't get Univision where I live but my sister in the LA area wants to watch CS. Anyone know what time it airs there?
Thanks!
Joan

Here are the ratings of the 30 (~35) most successful telenovelas before 1994. In 1994 a new method of measurement was set, therefore the period between 1994 and 1998 is still a mystery for me.

As you can see, Valentín Pimpstein and Ernesto Alonso were the kings of the telenovelas for a very long time. José Alberto Castro, Emilio Larrosa and Juan Osorio also had some huge hits, and of course kudos to Carla Estrada and Lucy Orozco for making so successful telenovelas in the macho world of Televisa.
Esmeralda was Mejía's first own telenovela in 1997, but he was the associate producer of Simplemente María, La picara sonadora and María Mercedes.

I emphasized a few titles that are somehow linked to the recent or upcoming telenovelas - El pecado de Oyuki for Ana Martín (STD), Dulce desafío for EY (CS), Cuando llega el amor for Lucero (STD), and so on.

1) Rosa Salvaje - 60.4 (1987, Valentín Pimstein - Verónica Castro, Guillermo Capetillo)

5) La Picara Sonadora- 56.2 (1991, Valentín Pimstein - Mariana Levy, Eduardo Palomo)

7) Alcanzar Una Estrella - 55.0 (1990, Marco Flavio Cruz, Luis de Llano Macedo - Mariana Garza, Eduardo Capetillo)
8) María Isabel - 53.6 (1966, Valentín Pimstein - Silvia Derbez, Raúl Ramírez)
9) Cadenas De Amargura - 52.6 (1991, Carlos Sotomayor - Daniela Castro, Raúl Araiza, Diana Bracho)
10) Cuando Llega El Amor - 52.3 (1989, Carla Estrada - Lucero, Omar Fierro)
11) Victoria - 51.6 (1987, Ernesto Alonso - Victoria Ruffo, Juan Ferrara)
12) Vivir Un Poco - 51.3 (1985, Valentín Pimstein - Rogelio Guerra, Angélica Aragón)
13) Alcanzar Una Estrella II - 50.8 (1991, Luis de Llano Macedo - José Alonso, Silvia Pasquel)
14) Simplemente María - 50.1 (1989, Valentín Pimstein - Victoria Ruffo, Manuel Saval)

30) Balada Por Un Amor - 45.1 (1990, José Rendón - Daniela Romo, Alfredo Adame)

DonaFelipa- I hope you're feeling better. I've only ever caught a glimpse of that actor in a novela that was recently on during the day, Alma Indomable. He played the main villain. It always fun to see these actor in some of their old roles, especially when you haven't grown up watching noevlas and watching all of these actors.

Vivi, thanks for that link to Lazos de Amor. I am new to TNs so I had never heard of it. Wow! Lucero was good in that! Now I have another TN I'll have to put on my list to watch...

Pirate Babe, What happen to the captain of the coast guard ship was that he hot hurt(he did not go to sleep) and they went to enlist the help of Juan because none of the other people on the ship knew how to navigate it. I agree with everybody about Ren getting too close for comfort to Reggie. I don't know why she doesn't kick him in the shin. Kudos to Dr Miranda. Aside from Noel he is the person with most integrity in el puerto de Veracruz. Gabe healed pretty quickly, but I am glad because he save Branco from the gallows. It seems Grizzly days or hours are counted. Fully is going to give her a taste of his sword. But now he'll think the anonymous letter was referring to her and not his wife and bff Fed.

Joan, in Los Angeles, C S airs at the god awful hour of 12 a m on regular TV, not cable, dish, etc. It's on Univision, Channel 34. I hope she has access to some recording device or she'll need to shift her sleeping habits as I gave done. But it's worth it, as I think this is a thoroughly entertaining novela and there's E Y and C d L F as the icing.

GinCA

Hi GinCA, thanks very much for the info, I will let her know.
We were both big Eduardo Yanez fans during those endless months of Fuego en la Sangre; I seem to recall seeing your comments on the FELS website.
Thanks again!
Joan

Sarah, I just read your wonderful recap. It was well worth the wait. Thank you so much.

Aimee and Renato belong together - the are very much alike. "It's all about me".

Salma is making me weary. It is time for someone to come forward and tell the truth.

Rosemary

Rosemary

Sarah, you are truly funny. I laughed throughout your recap and at your title. Some were suggesting the gut and the shin which seem like perfectly great spots but, I think you and Barbara selected the most effective body part for that swift hard kick. Maybe a kick in the head might help as well.

And thanks Aribeth for the links and the interesting info.

GinCA

Sarah, a most excellent recap. I so enjoyed your fun comments "poor, deluded child" and "evilly cackling" and "Do I smell another body to add to the count?" Hmmmm. Think you may be right!

Aribeth, thanks for all of the interesting information!

Karen, excellent point about Regina. Your're so right - Renato is everything she ever wanted and she must be feeling a gamut of emotions, particularly regret that it didn't happen sooner. She is human, after all, and her reaction is completely understandable. Although, she certainly won't put up with much more of a delay.

Sue, I agree, Noel and Pablo are very interesting characters, and very, very handsome...

The high seas and huge waves crashing on deck leave no doubt this is a fierce, unrelenting storm. Does anyone else get the uneasy feeling we are going to lose someone? Hope I'm wrong.

Diana

Thank you,, Sarah, your recap made my day! :) The title is hilarious and ITA with that. :)

Vivi, thanks for the Lazos de amor video! Lucero, the directing and the editing are grat in that scene, and it was made I don't know, 15 years ago? Wow. My interest is piqued, I'll watch this telenovela.

Sarah - your recap was hilarious, loved it! Don't have time to comment but just wanted to thank you.

Thanks, Sarah. I enjoyed the recap and all the funnies you included.

Aribeth, thanks for those cast photos. Lisardo is really handsome. I wouldn't have recognized him.

Don't know why all the storms in TNland come up so suddenly and rage so violently. Maybe they should all be named hurricane Aimee. As others commented, it's very strange that no other competent mariner was on board.

Branko, you're a real sweetie. Go find another TN with someone who can truly love you and maybe teach you to play the guitar.
La Paloma

Sarah, thanks so much for this great recap. Very funny and very well-written.

I love the look that Renato gets on his face every time Regina tells him no. It's the very same look Bonnie Belle would give me early in her training, "I see your lips moving, hear you talking, but don't understand a word you're saying." Maybe a chain collar would help.

Carlos

Carlos, are you calling Renato a dog? I'm afraid he's going to get worse before he gets any better, if he does that at all. Regina has already slapped him in the face twice and that hasn't registered. What is it going to take to convince him he's lost - Regina and Juan sucking face?

Thank you Sarah! Loved your title- Renato sure does need to get kicked in the nuts! I am so tired of his "me, me, me" way of thinking, just like Aimee- they deserve each other!

It sure took a while before Dr. Miranda snapped out of his Aimee stupor, don't you think? Don't get me wrong, I still think he is a noble man, but come on! What is it with everyone allowing the person they don't want to get all up on them!!

Boy, I just knew Fulgencio was going to get Griselda once he saw her outside the aguacil's office with Servando and later she denied it :)

I can't wait until Leo, Rod, Aimee, Renato and Salma get what's coming to them heeheehee :)

Marisol
