Corazon Salvaje Ep. 130, 8/23/2010 It's a Question of Honor

Review of conversation between Regina and Renato, then Regina saying you are like your mother and my father, egotistical, will do anything to get what you want. The things I used to love about you are gone, there is nothing tying us together anymore, we are different now. Give it up already Renato!

Juan is talking to Remigio who says they were right, Lulu is gone, he tried to get her to stay but it's too late. He starts to tell Juan not to make the same mistake, but Juan is still on fire angry and won't listen. Then he tells Remi he saw Arcadio. He tried to catch him to confront him but he got away. He says Arca is going to pay for what he did to his mother.

Mariela asks Lulu if she is really sure about leaving. Lulu says she is, she has to go, but she wants permission to say goodbye to a friend. Mari says of course.

Don Alberto is at the notario office confronting Noel about his love poem to Mariela. He says Noel is a married man and he doesn't want Mariela to suffer anymore. He demands that Noel leave her alone. Noel says excuse my behavior, you have every right to be saying this, I would do the same as a father and I promise I will leave Mariela alone. After Don Alberto leaves, Noel says to himself that once again he won't be loved, he is destined to seek but not find love.

Lulu is saying goodbye to Felipe. He is heartbroken and sobbing, he will miss her so much. First Madame Marlene left, then Brigitte was killed, now Lulu is leaving, Mon Dieu, c'est trop! Lulu tells him he has a good job with Noel who is a good man. Then Felipe opens the folder he has with said notario's documents which start flying all over in comic relief. Lulu helps him recover them.

Mariela and Jim/Angela are strolling along by the water. They see Noel coming towards them and Mari asks Jim/Ange if she looks okay. Noel says good day, it's a beautiful afternoon. He is awkward and leaves quickly telling them it was good to see them. They look at each other puzzled as he hurries away.

Fulgencio is taking his constitution and a number of fellow dons come up and tell him how sorry they are for him. He says to himself they all have compassion for me and see me as the victim, there is no way they will suspect me. He ambivalently pats himself on the back for being so clever.

Regina is at the notario's office showing him the false annulment and telling Noel how Renato must have done this. Noel is shocked, no puede ser! He couldn't have done this without your permission, you would have had to sign with the priest and I think he said something about a lawyer. Regi says she never signed anything. Noel says he will find out if it is forged and compare it to some other documents.

Juan is still being enraged and jealous and telling Gabe what happened, that their marriage is no more. Gabe finds it hard to believe Regina would have had anything to do with that. He tries to talk some sense into Juan who won't listen. He says if Regi would be happier with Renato then he'll let her go. Gabe says maybe you can be happy with someone else, too, Juan says no way! I had fun with Aimee, but I love Regina with all my soul. Gabe tells him he is obsessed and that he shouldn't do something unjust because of jealousy.

Back to Noel and Regi. He shows her that the writing doesn't match, for sure it was Aimee. Regi is distressed and dismayed, of course, Aimee, she says, their writing is similar. Regi clutches her stomach and looks faint. Noel asks her if she is okay, if she is ill. She tells him no, not to worry, she is expecting Juan's child. Noel is very happy for her.

Regi is with Renato furious at him for what he did. She says she knows it was Aimee who forged her signature. Renato says I know she did because I made her do it. He tells her he did it only with the intent of love, of getting her back. Regi is at her wit's end with this man. We flash back to Juan and Gabe and Colibri is telling Juan he saw Regina go into the notario's and then to Renato. Juan turns to Gabe and says "See, what did I tell you!" Did Juan tell Colibri to spy on Regi? Juan comes bursting into Renato's study and he and Renato yell at each other, threatening, and agree to a duel to the death at pinon del diablo. Through this Regi is trying to get them to stop. Juan whisks Regina away. After they are gone Renato once again echoes the last samurai and ceremoniously opens his sword case and starts polishing his swords.

Juan and Regi are in the carriage with Juan still looking sullen and angry. Regi looks sick and like she is going to faint, clutching her stomach. Suddenly Juan realizes maybe he should be concerned and asks her what is wrong. She says she hadn't told him but she is expecting his child. Juan smiles that big smile and both look really happy. Regi begs him not to fight Renato but Juan says do you want me to look like a coward, this doesn't go far as Regi passes out. Juan shouts at the driver to take them to the doc's.

Capt. Breton aka the new Aguacil is talking to the soldiers about how the MdO's appear to be upright and honest but they are really evil lying monsters. He says Rod and Leo are starting to accuse each other and that they need to keep the pressure on both of them until one of them cracks.

Rod is in his bedroom thinking about how he knows Leo is going to betray him. The maid knocks and he asks her to put away his clean clothes. As she is putting them in a drawer a pink lady's glove falls onto the floor (I'm presuming Brigitte's). She puts it back with the clothes in the drawer.

Rod goes to the dungeon at the finca to see Arcadio. He says he knows they haven't been the best of buddies but it would behoove them to be allies now. Arcadio agrees. He says he trusts Rodrigo, that he is a man of his word. Rod asks him to keep up the pretense with Leo that he is going to do what she wants. Arcadio will follow Rod's orders. Rod says hey, why did you follow her orders all those years anyway? Arcadio pauses and then says it - because we were lovers. She couldn't find a man to please her, so I was there. Rod is disgusted, he says he never loved Leonarda, just used her, she is a vile woman who doesn't deserve anyone's love. Arca looks a little doubtful at this.

We see Leo sneaking up to the finca saying to herself she knows Rod is going to betray her and she needs to see Arcadio. Leo comes calling into the dungeon and Arca tells Rod to hide. He finally answers Leo who asks him why he took so long. Arcadio tells her they have to lay low, no one should see him because someone would try to kill him. She agrees and talks about that infeliz Rodrigo and the surprise she has for him. Rodrigo listening to this says she is the one who will be surprised, she will cry tears of blood.

Back at the Doc's office Juan brings in the unconscious Regina. Doc Miranda says, you didn't know she was pregnant? I know she was happy about it, I thought she would have told you. Juan is like, no I'm an idiot, I wouldn't listen. She tried to tell me, Clemencia tried to tell me and I wouldn't listen!

Back at the finca, Arcadio is hanging out in the big house and opening a bottle. Uh oh. He toasts to himself in the mirror for being such a genius. He always dreamed he would be master of the finca and master of Leonarda. His sarcasm is stunning. He play-acts being the master of the house, graciously ushering in guests, then says to himself if he can't have that, he will sure as sh**t cause trouble for those two idiots Rod and Leo. (As bad as he is, I love Arcadio's sense of humor).

We see Juan by Regina's bedside through the night, caring for her, not sleeping. I'm wondering how he's going to have the energy to fight. Dawn breaks. He tells Regi if she can hear him to wait for him, to be strong for him and their child. He kisses her hand, then kisses her lips, but unlike sleeping beauty she doesn't wake up. The Doc comes back and Juan tells him he has to go, he has an appointment with destiny. That if everything goes well he will be back, but if not, to please tell Regina he begs her forgiveness, he has been stupid, he loves her and she is the most important thing in his life. He wants her to remember him with happiness. Doc wants to know where he is going. Juan says you'll know soon, don't forget.

We have dramatic clouds, sun, waves, and Juan is at Pinon del Diablo. He is at his mother's grave asking for forgiveness that he is going to fight Renato. He tells her it is not a question of vengeance, but of honor, that Regina is carrying his child. He asks for her blessing wherever she may be.

Renato is riding up on a white horse yelling, Juan del Diablo, are you ready to die?! Juan makes the sign of the cross and approaches Renato on horseback as well. Juan says "At last we're alone, at last we are alone and no one can interfere. The hour has come." They draw swords, swipe at each other then ride off and turn around, sword jousting for awhile. Renato sways in the saddle almost falling and Juan pushes him the rest of the way.

Colibri is with the Doc and Doc wants him to find out where Juan has gone. Just then Regina is raving in her sleep saying Juan and Renato are fighting at Pinon del Diable. Doc tells Coli to run to the fishermen and get them to go stop Juan. As Colibri leaves, Capt. Breton appears wanting to talk about the case against the Montes de Locas. He tells Doc that he suspects Rod and Leo did arrange the accident that killed his uncle but he doesn't have any proof. He wants to know if there were any employees at the finca who might remember anything. Doc says Rosendas's Dad was there, but with him being dead I'm not sure if he's thinking Rosenda will remember something, or Madame?

The Pescadores and Remigio are going to go to Pinon and stop Juan and Renato. Then we're back to the sword fight. Renato says this is a fight to the death, if you have anything to repent you'd better do it now. Juan says no, Ren says me neither. They proceed whacking at each other with double swords now. Ren is down but Juan doesn't kill him - he says you had my marriage annulled didn't you?!! More fighting and Juan is down, he says he will go back alive because Regina is carrying his child. Ren is enraged by this and is about to skewer Juan but he rolls out of the way.

Colibri is at Noel's telling him and Clemencia what has happened. Clem is going to Regi and Noel is going to get another boat and help stop Juan and Ren.

The fight continues with fists now, knocking each other down, wrestling. We see both boats speeding towards the pinon (as much as they can), the fishermen are yelling at Juan, Noel is shouting at Renato. All see that it is a fight to the death and are horrified, continue yelling to try to stop them. In their wrestling Ren has ended up over the cliff holding onto Juan's arm. Juan tries to save him, to pull him up, but Ren doesn't want to be saved and lets go. Juan jumps off after him. The pescadores, Noel and Colibri see this and are aghast, shouting, crying, rapido, they have to save them! End.

Thank you, Ivy! I will enjoy it. :-)

Thanks for the recap Ivy. It sounds like it was an exciting episode. If they fought out on penon del diablo how did they get the horses there?

Ivy: You did masterful justice to this exciting, eventful episode. A fabulous recap, with great insight.

I agree that Juan must have asked Colibri to spy on Regina. What happened to Juan's promise to raise and take care of him? Where has he been staying?

Was anyone else a little disappointed that Regina told Juan about the baby in the carriage? I had hoped for a little more romantic setting and a few celebratory hugs and kisses. But, Juan has been such a fool. Perhaps she felt the confined space was the only place she could tell him without him walking away (yet again!).

My favorite moments were Arcadio's playing Lord of the Manor and Felipe's sad goodby to Lulu. Arcadio is cleverly playing both sides while pitting them against each other. His ardor for Leo seems to have cooled and have no doubt money and wealth might easily take her place.

My least favorite moment was Noel's anguished cry of "Renato" as he sailed off the cliff. I have a feeling this isn't the end of Renato. Not quite yet.

Diana

Thank you Ivy, it sounds like a very action pack episode. I’m glad Juan found out about the baby before the last minute of the novela. Connie, I’m with you. This show has so many inconsistencies is not even funny. Now we have this it with Noel. Noel always has been a forward guy. Why now is he going to stop? Can he tell Mari what happened?

Ivy, great job. As usual I haven't seen this episode yet but you made it vividly come alive for me. Thanks to all you recappers who stuck with this TN. Right now, it's the best one going.

I rolled my eyes at Noel.

"Noel says he will find out if it is forged and compare it to some other documents."

Didn't Regina just tell him that she didn't sign it? Now he's going to check to see if it's forged?

Carlos

Ivy, great retelling of last nights episode! I've been staying up to catch these last episodes but sometimes have some trouble understanding the language. All you recappers do a fantastic job of recapturing the events of each show. I still hate to see Colibri being a tattletale, even if Juan did tell him to spy on Regina. I was so glad to see Regina go to Noel about the documents. Diana, I to was disappointed by the way it was handled of Juan finding out Regina was pregnant, but was happy to see their closeness after the fact. So glad to see Rodrigo find out the truth about Leo,I just find Orca kind of freaky. I thought the fight scenes with Juan and Renato well worth staying up to watch.

About the signature, pretty sure Noel totally believes Regina; but as a lawyer, he knows that it must be proved to other people, too.

Thank you Ivy. Also Sue and Connie from last week. I was just able to get caught up on everything last night. Wow! action packed inconsisitancies. Did the horses swim to Penon del Diablo and everyone is freshly pressed.

So glad Juan has come to his senses about Regina and called himself an idiot. A what? Idiot. I did not hear you. Idiot.

I thought Colibri liked Regina, but is so willing to get her in trouble.

So Renato TN-jerk-of-the-year but, looked fine in the short trim vest and "nice pants."

Remember in the episode on the La Promesa where Juan jumped overboard to retrieve Regina's handbag, he said the water was his friend. Wonder if the water will be Renato's friend or just Juan's.

Thanks again Ivy for filling in all the details, so appreciated!
Loving my first TN with all of the recappers and comments.

Bernadette

I thought the episode held some surprises. I didn't expect Regina to tell Juan about the pregnancy. She usually withholds a lot of things she should say. Maybe this is a change in her. I agree that this was a perfect opportunity since Juan couldn't exactly walk out of the carriage.

I am so disappointed in Alberto - reading Mariela's personal mail. I understand his principles but as Regina would say: "It's private." It just goes to show the Noel is a man of honor. However, Mariela is the love of his life! Maybe he will be a widower soon...

I like Arcadio's character. His sense of humor is fun. He can toy with Leonarda and Rodrigo all he wants.

Renato is not done yet. Juan will save his sorry a$$ yet again.

Hi Caray family!

Thanks Ivy for the recap and for all those who have been doing so!

A few things that stuck out to me- first, why did Noel go on boo hooing about being resigned to never finding love when he already asked Mariela to wait for him while he sorts out the end of his relationship with Leonarda, and she agreed to do so? Did he forget they had that conversation? He can respect Don de Marin's wishes to steer clear WHILE he finalizes his divorce, then continue to pursue her, no? Mi pobre, pobre Noel.

Then, Fulgencio and Arcadio both patted themselves on the back for being so intelligent and outsmarting everyone, but, haha, all is not over yet! I have no idea how they'll get Fully, but Arca can't get the finca as it now belongs to Clemencia, so what are they going to do with him? At least he will be driving Rod and Leo to the brink :)!

Lastly, how did Reggie not haul off and claw Ren's eyes out once she discovered how he got the annulment done!! I wish for once she would have shown a teeny bit of Aimee's ferocity and knocked the sh@t out of Ren!

I was none to happy to see the powers that be resolve the situation between Reggie and Juan by her revealing her pregnancy in the carriage ride. First it was annoying that suddenly Juan seemed to be a-ok with Reggie after being pissed at her for so long, and then for Juan to admit his feelings to Dr. Miranda when he could never say it to Regina's face? Dagnabit!!!!!!!

What killed it for me was hearing mi Noel's cries of "Renato!" and "No, mi hijo!" I am so sorry but I choked on my soda laughing, even though he is my love on the tn :)

I cannot believe we only have FIVE episodes left! I will be emotionally spent by next Tuesday, 1am :)

Marisol

Thank you, Ivy, for the great job. To be honest I don't like the last two weeks much, the trust problems between the protagonists is way to much to bear and the inconsistencies of the script raised to the nth degree. BUT this episode is one of my personal favourites. Naturalmente, the fight between the boys is awesome. The actors did the scenes by themselves.
Noel shouting "Renatoooooooooooo" killed me. It was just as silly as Darth Vader shouting "Noooooooooooooo!" at the end of The Revenge of the Sith.

Bernadette:

So glad Juan has come to his senses about Regina and called himself an idiot. A what? Idiot. I did not hear you. Idiot.

LMAO! I would love to see this scene. What did you say again? Idiot. Please shout it! IDIOT! Yes, our dearest Juan, you are, but at last your bipolarity is over. And please now write hundred times: "I will use my last braincell and think before doubting the only mujer in the world who can tolerate me for a lifetime."

Oh, one more comment. A month ago, while I was on vacation I decided to create a short version of CS. First, I like editing videos; second, I always said that the first 80 episodes should've been 35 episodes long. :)) I deleted most of the filler crap and the worst crying/shouting/cave/can-can't dancing/Juan in adult diaper scenes and shortened the boring side stories. The final version will have 50-55 almost one hour long episodes. The first 70 episodes are already edited and I'm working on the second part of the telenovela but I didn't have much free time lately. At the end of the week I'll give you the download link for the first 15-20 videos.

Thanks Ivy!

I was actually glad Regina told Juan about the baby. It wasn't the most romantic setting, but I think it was the only chance Regina was going to get. I'm sure she was trying to stop the duel between the two boneheads, but the news did give Juan something to fight for. Remember, he was just going to "give her up" to Renato. Now Juan knows she loves him and he has something to come back to.

I think Noel should at least have told Marielea what was going on. It could have been something as simple as 'Your father doesn't want me to court you until my legal affairs are in order and I agreed'. Now we've got another "What did I do wrong? He said he loved me." relationship going on.

Has Orca told Rod about Constanza's death? Or is he holding that little piece of news or some other opportune moment? He is the only one who can vouch for the contents of the letter so that has to come up sometime.

Aribeth, I am excited about your video project! Can't wait!!

Not to get off topic, but are there any plans to do recaps of LVO?

OMG Aribeth! That is so fantastic of you to do! I missed the entire beginning, and could so do without all the filler, so I am super looking forward to checking out your handiwork! Yeah!! And Renato screaming like Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith- LOL!!

xIntperuvian- you are so right! Why didn't Noel try to talk to Mariela to let her know what is happening?

terrylee- I have had it with Colibri! Does he not have a brain in his head? Does he not see how Juan reacts every time he mentions Regina and Ren in the same sentence? Boy does he need a spanking!

Would it bother Rod more to find out what Leo did to Costanza than what she did to MdR, the love of his life? Although by now, after Arcadio told him how what he did to MdR was at Leo's request, one would think Rod would have tried to kill Leo already, as anguished as he had been over MdR and "losing" her again.

Bernadette- Yes, yes, yes! "So glad Juan has come to his senses about Regina and called himself an idiot. A what? Idiot. I did not hear you. Idiot." The most annoying part of that scene was that because neither the Dr. ot Juan wanted to disturb Reggie, they spoke so softly I could hardly hear Juan's admission of stupidity. He should have asked to speak with the Dr. outside and then said it nice and loud: I. Am. Such. An. IDIOT! I don't know how many more times Reggie would have had to hold her hand to her stomach to indicate, "helloo, lookie here, there's a bun in the oven!"

The fight scene between the boys- dueling is fine but I much preferred when Juan pinned Ren to the ground and beat the crap out of him with his bare hands :)

On a different note- does any one know if there is another period novela that might be coming out? I have really enjoyed CS and would not mind seeing another that was set in the past. I watch the commercials for the other novelas on now and am not really feeling any connection. No offense :)

Thanks Ivy for the recap. And thanks to Sue for Fridays recap.

I don't know why Noel didn't just tell Mariela's father that he is getting a divorce. He already told Mariela that he had started paperwork. Is he not suppose to get married again after a divorce? Why can't he find love again?

Looks like Juan may save Renato and be the hero. Maybe Renato will act right after this if he lives and go back to being his old self. Too much to ask?

I worded that wrong on the Noel/Regina scene. Of course he believed Regina, you all are right that he just needed to find proof. I had to take notes on this one while watching it, the sound was messed up in the online version. So I may have gotten some things a little off!

Ivy

Excellent recap Ivy. Wow! What an episode. Both Juan and Renato went over the cliffs of Pinon del Diablo like JDD Sr when he jumped from those cliffs years ago. At least Juan knows Regina is having his baby and he admitted to how stupidly he acted. I'm on pins and needles on the outcome of Juan and Renato's fate.

I too wondered if Juan sent Colibri to spy on Regina. Unless he followed her on his own.

The Orca scenes at the finca were hilarious. I still think he's setting up both Leo and Rod for a fall.

Looking forward to tonight's show.

Thanks, Ivy. I only have a minute , but I wanted to thank all the recappers for going above and beyond the call of duty and continuing to give us such excellent recaps despite Uni's very bad decision to move CS to midnight. I've enjoyed this novela very much. I am getting frustrated with Juan, but I know that everything will turn out right in the end...the goodies will be rewarded and the baddies will pay. I think that Arcadio, Leo, Rod, and Fully all have to die , but Ren might just pack up and move away. Please. We know that someone is going to end up trapped in the finca cellar because our villains keep returning to the scene of their crimes and wandering around those dark and gloomy passageways. I wonder if Roenda and her mama will return in the last episode with Rod's spawn ? That could lead to a spinoff novela ''Son of Rod.'' That's what happens with American TVshows and movies. [We just saw ''The Expendables''...save your money...and it looks like they are planning a sequel.]

"I was actually glad Regina told Juan about the baby. It wasn't the most romantic setting, but I think it was the only chance Regina was going to get. I agree too Xlntperuvian. This was the only way Regina could tell Juan since he wouldn't listen any other time. I loved him watching over her all night through her fever. Juan realized he acted really terrible and he should never doubt Regina's love for him again.

I completely second Mad Bess' declaration of thanks for all the recappers have done! My enjoyment of this tn has only been enhanced by engaging with the Caray family here in the blogosphere :)

Pirate Babe- let's HOPE that Juan finally has come to his senses; the way this tn has gone, he could very well find some other thing to get ticked off about for another day or two before he and Reggie reunite for the big finale.

Marisol

Thanks for the recap Ivy. It was a great episode.

ITA w/Aribeth that inconsistencies in the script are annoying especially since Noel has to suffer (and unnecessarily so too).

I'll give Colibri a small pass b/c he was following Juan's orders though both need to wear the dunce cap for a moment.

Can't wait for tonight.

Mad Bess:
That's what happens with American TVshows and movies.
Tell me about it, it's frustrating as hell. However, I must see Expendables, I'm in love with the action heroes of the '80s and '90s.

Xlnt:
Not to get off topic, but are there any plans to do recaps of LVO?
I'm afraid there won't be recaps here. This blog focuses on the 7-8-9 pm telenovelas, and God knows if there would be enough recappers. Both CS and Gancho started at a better timeslot and had enough viewers by the time they were banished to midnight, therefore there were many commenters and volunteers here.
BUT there'll be an LVO forum on Telenovela-World. It hasn't been created yet but Jeri already asked the moderators, and if there will be enough commenters there I'm sure that some forum members (including me) will write short summaries and/or explain the most difficult scenes. It'd be great if the forum was active.

Marisol:
On a different note- does any one know if there is another period novela that might be coming out?
As far as I know right now neither producer is working on a period telenovela. They're expensive and risky, the last ones (Alborada, Pasión, CS) weren't successful.

Here's the list of the period telenovelas of Televisa:
TELEVISA:
1962. Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz
1965. Maximiliano y Carlota
1966. Corazón Salvaje I
1967. La Tormenta
1968. Leyendas de México
1968. Los caudillos
1970. La constitución
1970. Yesenia I
1972. El carruaje
1973. Los miserables
1974. La tierra
1977. Corazón Salvaje II
1983. Bodas de Odio
1986. Martín Garatuza
1986. La Gloria y el Infierno
1987. Senda de Gloria
1987. Yesenia II
1988. El Extrano Retorno de Diana Salazar
1990. Yo compro esa Mujer
1993. Clarisa
1993. Corazón Salvaje III
1994. El vuelo del águila
1995. Si Dios me quita la vida
1995. Alondra
1996. La antorcha encendida
1997. Pueblo chico, infierno grande
1999. Amor Gitano
2000. Ramona
2003. Amor Real
2005. Alborada
2007. Pasión
2009. Corazón Salvaje IV

In my opinion Yo compro esa mujer and Corazón salvaje 1993 are the best Mexican period telenovelas. Well, Mejía managed to mess them up, but nevermind. I also recommend Alborada, Amor real (it's not my favourite, but I admit that this is one of the greatest telenovelas of the last decade - but only after El manantial and La otra :)), Alondra, Senda de gloria (with EY :)), Ramona, Si Dios me quita la vida and La antorcha encendida.
And many people like Pasión, Amor gitano and Pueblo chico as well.

Imho the "older" (pre-2000) Brazilian period telenovelas humiliate most of the Mexican ones, including Estrada's famous trilogy. Better writing, historical accuracy and more believeable characters. Terra Nostra is one of my favourites.

Aribeth: Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I'm in awe that you are doing a condensed version of CS. Amzaing.

I am heartened by your comment that there may be an LVO forum. I had decided I'd probably need to pass on watching as I just don't have the language skills to follow along on my own. Due to the hour, I can't promise to watch every episode but I will watch as much as possible and would take the time to read the recaps and comment as I do here. I know you and Jeri would do sensational recaps.

Diana

Aribeth, thank you so much for the info on period TNs! I will print out the list and be on the lookout for the ones you recommended, especially the Brazilian ones- I am trying to learn Portuguese and this would be a fantastic way to get some practice :)

Marisol

Marisol: I forgot to mention Bodas de odio with Christian Bach and Miguel Palmer, it's the original version of Amor real (both based on the novel of Caridad Bravo Adams and adapted by María Zarattini - btw, CS is also based on a CBA novel and written by Zarattini), and it's very good.
Ernesto Alonso (RIP), the producer of Bodas de odio, Senda de gloria, Yo compro esa mujer, La antorcha encendida, Laberintos de pasión, La otra, Amarte es mi pecado (and dozens of other gems) was truly the master of telenovelas. He was in love with the Mexican history and wanted to create as many historical telenovelas as he could.

I've seen many Brazilian telenovelas dubbed to Hungarian when I was child. Unfortunately I haven't found many original versions on Internet so far, the only version of Terra Nostra I have is dubbed to Spanish. But I don't give up looking for the Portuguese videos, I'd also like to learn this language. One day. Right now I should focus on English and Spanish (and Japanese, and German... Gosh, I need two more lives). :) A friend of mine married to a Brazilian man. They communicate in English but she's always looking for telenovelas to practice the Portuguese language.

Aribeth, thank you for that link to the (possible) LVO forum. I'm going to watch it. I'm still a beginner with the Spanish language and without closed captions (my station doesn't have them and I don't know why) it's sometimes very hard to understand the dialogue. A discussion forum would be most helpful :)

I thought it was odd that Brigette's blood-stained glove was still in Rod's house. It's been a while since her murder, you'd think the maids would have found it by now... Even more surprised by the fact that the maid who did find it didn't seem to notice the blood stains... and didn't look for the other glove.

Edit:
btw, CS is also based on a CBA novel and written by Zarattini

I mean, the 1993 version of CS. The script of the new version is written by Liliana Lunatic Abud who used to be a good writer when she was working with Alonso (YCEM, La otra, Amarte es mi pecado and others).

Diana:
Thank you. I can't promise to write normal, long recaps (due to time and language limits), much less every day, but I'll try to do my best on LVO forum. :) I'm far from being fluent in Spanish (to be honest, my English skills are far better than my Spanish), but I usually understand the telenovela dialogues. Their vocabulary is limited and the main topics of the characters are: I love you - I don't love you - I hate you - basic business - endless whining, so it's hard to misunderstand the conversations. :) Sometimes I can't hear what the characters are saying because the quality of the video is bad or they speak to quickly, that's why I never dared to write recaps so far. But writing summaries is easier.
Jeri did an awesome job with CS but we can't ask her to do the same with LVO for six months again.

Thanks so much for the recap Ivy, this was a great episode. What exactly did Juan say to Renanto when he burst into his house? It sounded like he was saying that he wanted to defend the woman he loved but I could be waaayy off on this. I also thought is was funny that way he had been saying "oh yeah I'm giving her up to Ren" and then the second he hears she is going to see Ren he is off like a shot after her.

Would just add this link, regarding an LVO discussion forum at Telenovela world; it's the Main Forum, where news appears.

It's just a good place to check for telenovela news anyway. I check it every day. Also to ask questions.

Aribeth and Jeri~~ I'm always worried about picking up a virus , so I'm wondering how secure the sites that you posted are. [I remember Melinama's warning about a certain site where she had gotten a virus.] I hope to watch and/or record LVO . I'd love a place to read recaps and comment. As to CS, the comment that Juan made that really seemed to set Ren off was when Juan told him that Reggie was expecting his baby. Can't wait for tonight's episode. Hub has gotten interested and has been watching with me. We try our best to keep each other awake. Last night, I commented that no one would want to be tackled by Juan as Juan did just that to Ren. To which Hub replied, ''And I wouldn't want him sittimg on me either''...as Juan was sitting on Ren and pummeling him with his big fists. YIKES. I did not think that they would both go over the cliff. However, as someone mentionned, the sea is Juan's friend , and we've seen many scenes of Juan swimming in the ocean. Remember the scene in the loincloth ???..Tarzan of the Seas. Juan Sr. fell from that same cliff and survived....so...like father like son. The question is whether or not Juan will be able to save Ren who maybe is not as friendly with the sea.

Thank you for the recap Ivy!

Last night was sure full of inconsistencies, from Noel to the horses on the island. Also, the graves seem to keep moving from the beach to on top of the cliff.

I'm giving Regina a break for not attacking Renato more, given that she was barely standing up from the fever. I wonder what life threatening illness she has now? She seems to get fevers way too often - I hope she doesn't have malaria. Also, the doctor said he would do everything possible to save Reggie and the baby, but all he seemed to do was put a cloth on her head and go to bed!

I agree with others on why they timed the pregnancy announcement when they did, even though I would have liked a more romantic scene too. At least Reggie got to see that Juan was happy before collapsing.

As for a "fight to the death", Juan apparently didn't really mean it since he let Ren go and then tried to save him from the cliff. If Ren survives, I hope he appreciates that.

The recap was wonderful - absolutely captured each moment. And I loved the episode. The fight was the best and I really liked the reactions of the people in the boats. I do question the horses, but why? Its novelaland.

I wonder why they always get so dressed up for a duel. I think I might wear something a little more casual that didn't show the blood so much.

Can't wait until tonight.

I think Regina chose the carriage ride to tell Juan about the baby in hopes that the news would stop him fighting Renato. Also, if Juan had not appeared, Regina might well have slapped Renato silly. Can't slap him stupid since he already is. Well choregraphed fight scene but it actually as I watched it, I thought it was a grown-up pissing contest. Renato probably told Juan to let him go because he knew he couldn't compete with Regina having Juan's baby. For once, Renato showed some sense of reality in that he realized Regina would be forever tied to Juan. A little late and a dollar short.
