Dinero (not complete) Blackout
Firstly my apologies because there will be no recap tonight. For whatever reason my cable service was interrupted until about an hour ago. I thought I could still do the recap but my recording services also betrayed me tonight. However, I couln't leave you with nothin, now could I? So here is the discussion thread for tonight's episode.
Once again my apologies for this situation. Private 057
UPDATE: This is blog mom checking in. Let's see, what do I remember?
In the barn where Rafa is being held prior to marrying the hot chica who has said he is her baby daddy, Ale and Rafa exchange happy tight-lipped kisses (a fifth grader could do better).
Luckily, the "other" Rafael Medina (looks like an old hippy) shows up at the last minute. The pregnant daughter is not that happy to see him, she preferred Rafita Rafita, but what can you do?
Rafa and Ale rush back to the hotel, where, thanks to a blackout caused by Chavez (don't you love the way Marco spits out his name?) trying to recharge his cellphone, the awards ceremony was delayed just enough for Rafa and Ale to join the gang and hear that Auto-Siglo won!
La leona de Clo-Autos is mortified and has her human palanquin carry her off to the pool where she can drink her sorrows away (she had offered to buy drinks for Arcadia WHEN Clo-Autos won).
Milagros has checked in - she needs to decide whether she will (1) marry Jimenez or (2) go to a nunnery. I personally think that is a too-scanty list of options. He meets up with her by the pool and is dazzled once again by what her bikini reveals. Milagros, he is old and shallow and has logorrhoea, quick Milagros run run run!
Chavez, fresh from his night on the sofa, Marco, Todo Yo Daniel (who starts every entrance and exit by turning sideways), Marian (who has some plan in action but we don't know what it is exactly, though it involves a guy with a deep voice spying on Rafael and Ale), and VICKI VICKI VICKI meet up and are all bitching in one voice when Ale and Rafa show up, see them all and suspect it's not a coincidence - but don't care at all - they happily wave their blue ribbons, call each other "mi amor" many times, and leave. Our table of also-rans grind their teeth.
Arcadia sees La Leona by the pool, jumps up and down three times in triumphant glee, and offers to buy La Leona drinks. Being a "good loser," Leona accepts.
Some mystery messenger leaves mystery notes for many of our main characters who all say, "funny, what is this?" Oh, and some funny looking guy comes to Rafa's door making him stare in astonishment.

Excellent description of those pathetic kisses "a fifth grader could do better". Amen.
Hard to imagine why any comely young lass would want to spend hours in a motel room holed up with the other Rafael Medina. I can see why'd she'd definitely prefer Rafita.
And congrats for giving Ramirez' long-windedness such a high-falutin' scientific name. He'd be pleased I'm sure.
Maybe Milagros' alternative is the ever-sideways Daniel. Their bathroom encounter was significant. I loved it when she asked him if he'd requested "God's help" in breaking out of the restroom. Never hurts to pray. Particularly when your name is Daniel. LOL>
Lots of loose ends to clear up in the next few days.

Great picture, Melinama. Definitely caught the spirit of our CloAuto queen.
It is true not a lot happened beyond Rafael being extracted from a very sharp situation. One thing I would add though is at the very end of the show, Rafa and Ale are together and in walks what we assume to be the mysterious stranger. Rafa looks at him and gasps "YOU!" or something similar.
Also, did anyone catch Rafa and Ale talking about Dandy and Susana getting married? Or was that just my brain making up stuff from untranslated, misunderstood Spanish?
Private 057, I'm so sorry that your cable conked out. We are all at the mercy of technology. I found these episodes listed on Youtube and was going to post links, but when I checked them out, they had been blocked. Let me add my thanks to those of the others. It's been great fun having you as a recapping partner. I hope we hear from you on another show in the near future. You definitely have the talent.
Barbara, yes, I think Ale told Rafa that Nelson and Susana were going to have something like a Wedding del Sol ceremony.
Judy, thanks a million. Now I'm critically scrutinizing every kiss.
Wow, just 3 left.

I thought more would happen last night to tie up the ends of our story. The incident with Rafa's kidnapping seemed to be just kinda added in there for no good reason.
I want to know who is the man and what is Marian's plan. Where is Frank and can bumbling Zetina find him in time. What about Julieta and Jaime. Milagros and Daniel? Interesting but she might have wised up enough to know better than to go there. What about the human vacuum cleaner and Trapito? What about Rosario and Quintana? And Jorge and Rubie? Too many loose ends to give us a fill in chapter like last night.
One other scene they had was Julieta showing up at Jaime's apartment unannounced, holding his diploma, telling him how proud she was that he's a lawyer now. He asked if she still had feeling for "Cesar, with no last name", and she waffled a bit. He then added that his proposal to her still stands. She said she felt pressured. He then said he was sorry, take all the time you want, the only thing I care about is that you are happy. This last statement seemed to really affect her, and I think wedding bells are on the horizon for these two! Also, she looked beautiful with her new hairstyle and makeup.
The mysterious guy who appeared before Ale and Rafa could be his father, as some have predicted.
There's some plan with Frank, right? Can't guess what that is.
The envelopes are a puzzle, too.
I loved when Marco was trying to keep Vicky quiet, not wanting Ale and Rafa to know he and Chavez were there. Of course, no one could stop the force that is Vicky!
I, too, liked when Marco was trying to stop VVV, but the bouncers at the door actually did stop her. I thought it was great when Rafa told her he had found another way to solve his mom's problem, so their agreement was kaput. Chavez is pretty funny just bursting out with the truth - Marco still doesn't seem to get that he should treat him better.
It looked to me like that was probably Rafa's Dad, and I can't imagine he's going to be happy to see him or what Marian was thinking.
Sidewinding, todo yo Daniel has grown on me, I find him quite funny now. ITA Milagros would do much better with him, but I think he and Marian will still end up together.

It's true that not much happened tonight but I found this episode hilarious. I loved the Leona and the way she is carried about. The two auto agency dueña are so over the top!
I was pleased with Ale that she rushed in to try to help Rafa when he was held at scimitar-point rather than believing the bimbo who was lying about him because he is cuter than the other Rafael Medina. It turns out that the reason Rafa was dragged into that love seminar to give the presentation was because the other Rafael Medina was holed up in a hotel room with the now preggers Coralina.
You know those 5th grade or 8th grade tight lipped kisses are kind of cute. They go with those butterfly kisses Ale keeps asking for. Ale told her tia the other day that Rafa makes her feel joy and fun which she never felt with Marco.
I loved it when Rafa & Ale encountered Marco, Chavez, Vickie, Marian and Daniel all at the same table. Rafa just laughed and said "look it's our partners who have been unpartnered" (or something like that.) They just stood there hand in hand calling each other "mi amor" Their indifference even shut up VVV.
Speaking of Vickie one of my favorite moments was when Rafa & Ale suddenly appeared after escaping the kidnapping. Vickie started to rush them Nd Marco grabbed her with one hand around her waist and the other over her mouth. She struggled and struggled but Marco prevailed.
While everyone was still searching for the missing
R & A, Dandy & Jimenez saw Susanna going into a locked room with a strange man. There was an amusing slapstick chase and then they jumped the stranger to "save" Susanna. Of course the man was simply a hotel employee who was letting Susanna into Rafa & Ale's room to search for clues. Nonicita looked a bit put off by the violence but I guess it wasn't enough for her to cancel the moonlight boda which is planned for tonight. (Sprung that one on us out of the blue, didn't they?)
Hope this fills in a few of the missing moments. Thanks again for the valiant efforts on everyone's part.

I'm afraid those tight-lipped kisses stretch believability for me. It's not the way a young adult couple in love would kiss and it is kind of ruining the romance for me between Ale and Rafa. The butterfly kisses are cute, but IMHO that's enough cuteness! I'm still happy to see them together but it would be more satisfying if it was realistic as it was when they were at the beach. Oh, well, overall this has still been a great show.
I hope they let us see what's going on back at Carmela's apartment. Is Trapito painting or putting out?
Gûera
Hotel employee: "You can't go in."
Vicki: "But my pajarito is in there!"
Hotel employee (with a straight face):
"No, animals are not allowed."
Kinda fun seeing Todoyo getting a little panicky locked in the bathroom.
Judy, I hope that your son's job interview went well.
I'm really gonna miss this show.
Carlos
We do still have quite a bit to resolve and solve - who or what is the headless horseman? Couples - Pepeto and Ovi, I guess not Rosaura, Claudia with Urdiales, for sure want to see what's going on with Trapito and Carmela. I kept wondering if Claudia and Carmela would ever realize they both had interludes with Marco! How is Marino going to get his comeuppance with all his wives, and what about Ramirez and Gloria? She's really a better match for him than Milagros.
Me, too, I will miss this show. I still miss CS, actually, it was so colorful and fun, and too bad a lot of people didn't see it.
Someone else mentioned Marco holding Vicky back which I also thought was a hoot.
Private 057 sorry about your technical difficulties. I have enjoyed your recaps and was happy when you joined us. Also enjoyed your predictions and comments.
Melinama, thanks for stepping in and recapping last nights episode.
Private 057- Don't sweat it. I want to thank you for jumping in and joining our recap team like you did, and for all your entertaining recaps. I hope you decide to be a recapper again.
Melinama- Thank you for saving us and giving us a quick rundown. You got it all, except for maybe Julieta and Jaime.
Now on to read the comments before tonight's episode starts!
Private, thank you for posting the link. Also, thank you so much for recaping Tuesdays. I'm sorry I could not read more of your recaps but you joined the crew after I took too many responsibilities upon myself and I stopped having time for reading this site. But I truly enjoyed the few that I got to read.
BTW, I thought yesterday's episode was just ridiculous and pointless.
