La Verdad Oculta EP21 10/11/2010 - Crying, sobbing, weeping and a little bit of fun

Aribeth

* Ramón reports to Leonardo about Adolfo Ávila: he has an associate called Mario Genovés, they run hotels and restaurants. He divorced years ago and has a son who's the manager of the restaurants and night clubs.

* Alejandra learns from Mina that the owner of that great house changed his mind and doesn't want to sell it anymore. She's surprised at Elsa's strange and impolite behaviour and wonders if Roberto was right about her. Speak of the devil, Rob enters and she complaints about Elsa to him. Roberto's phone rings and a very furious Carlos tells him what happened in JJ's house.

* Leo asks Ramón if Adolfo has always been dealing with hotels. No, in the 80's he had a theatrical company: theaters, circuses, musicals... But in 1986 a dancer called Marta Guzmán was strangled in his theater and everyone suspected of her jealous husband, who later escaped. And guess who was one of the witnesses? Adolfo Ávila. Leo gets excited, he doesn't think that Adolfo was such a perfect gentleman and the hound definitely picked up the scent.

* Gaby receives a phonecall from David who begs her not to disconnect. He asks for her forgiveness for being a complete idiot last night and reminds her of their lovely days in LA. Fausto arrives home and she quickly hangs up the phone and says it was a wrong number. But Fausto isn't a fool. He tells Gaby how much he loves her and her sister and asks her to trust him. Is she interested in a boy... in David? But what does she expect from him? Nothing, sobs Gaby. Fausto tries to convince her she deserves someone better.

* In the prison Marcos and Piggy talk about their prison break and future life filled with more crime and money.

* Elsa doesn't understand why Carlos didn't recognize Juan José. He says it happened long ago but he remembers him well. She says it's strange that those people appeared in his life again and JJ agrees that the world is very small. He makes a mental note that he has to take revenge on Adolfo Ávila and Mario Genovés! Oh, I have a deja vu.

* Mario and Abelardo check again the high-tech gadgets in his office. Mario wonders if their efforts are pointless. What if Santiago gets cold feet again and gives up their plan after his death? Abelardo swears he won't let him do that. Mario complaints he has so little time left to fix everything up and the old friends worry and cry over the toughness and cruelty of their plan... Especially over deceiving David. Bertha enters and confesses to her favourite uncle there's something between her and Blondie. (In your dreams, sweetie.)

* In Club Sagitario Roberto tries to explain away his conduct to Julieta and eventually succeeds to convince her that Alejandra belongs to his past and now he likes her, only her. Yeah, and Yolanda is the Queen of Great Britain.

* Rob visits Carlos in his office. Whiskers greets him coldly, but Rob quickly assures him that they are still best friends forever and he's in Team Carlos, not in Team David. He only tried to help him last night when he and David had fun with the Balmori girls. It made the waitresses mad, didn't it? And it gave Carlos an opportunity to win Gaby over, didn't it? Hmmm. Carlos loosens up a bit. He's still angry for the fiasco that happened in Juan del Tarzan's houseand thinks he shouldn't have involved in buying houses, he has enough problems with the restaurants.

* David arrives at the club and asks Gabriela to visit him in his office. When she says no he blackmails her: if she doesn't obey he will go to Carlos and make a scandal. Julieta asks what happened, Gaby tells her she's going to David's office and leaves. Leonardo also shows up and greets Juli.

* JJ's returned to Seven Dwarves mode, he continues digging in his kitchen. Judging from the amount of dirt on him and Asunción it seems as if they plan to dig a fourth rescue tunnel for the Chilean miners. Juan José tells Asunción he heard noises from the deep. In the meantime Alejandra and Mina have a walk in their pretty and comfortable secret tunnel that is filled with workers.

* Bertha and a friend of her dance, rave and drink in a hip bar. They notice two handsome guys and they start to drink together. Five seconds later Bertha and one of the guys start to suck face... just when Mina arrives at the bar.

* David confesses to Gaby that he's jealous because loves her. Kiss. Music. Shivers.
In the bar Julieta and Leo are chatting when Carlos shows up and asks where Gaby is. Since Juli can't lie convincingly he finds out she's in David's office and and storms away fuming. Leo asks what's the problem and when he realizes the guys already had a fight for Gaby he runs after Whiskers. In the office Carlos interrupts the romantic reunion and tries to beat up David. Fortunately the only adult in the district stops the boys by pointing his gun at them.

* Mario calls Faustiago on phone and apologizes for what he said earlier in the dressing room, he shouldn't interfere in Gaby's life. Then a very tired Alejandra visits him and reports about the status of the construction. Mario thanks to her for her magnificent work and finally confesses to her he has cancer and will die soon. Ale's shocked and begs him to tell her everything. She would do anything to help him! Mario gives in and tells her that it started many years ago when he fell in love with a woman called Marta...

* Leonardo takes Gabriela home and tells her she should leave the job. There are too many agressive guys in that club. Gaby is confused and can't decide what to do. Leo comforts the crying girl and promises not to tell anything to Fausto.

* Mario's finished his tale about the contract, Dolphie, Fausto and his plan, and Ale (and Viewerville) joins the weeping club. He won't die! Yes, he will, and he told her his plan because he needs his help. Can she trust her? Of course. She tries to comfort him with her optimistic nature and they end up crying in each other's arm.

* Roberto and Adolfo have a drink in Dolphie's luxury condo. The old rascal tells Rob for the 100th time that if he serves him loyally he won't have to worry about money anymore. By the way, what would he do for 5 million pesos? Roberto chuckles perplexedly... well, many things. Oh, really? Would he even kill somebody?

Thanks for posting the links Jeri!

Gracias, Aribeth. I loved the title and laughed out loud at "Speak of the devil, Rob enters" :) Your summary was wonderful.

Juan's anger was palpable. I'm thankful he didn't lose control although it appeared he wanted to pummel Carlos into the ground (not that I'd have minded!). So, now poor Elsa is going to bear the brunt of Juan's refusing to sell? That girl cannot get a break.

I'm so thankful for these recaps. I could not follow Leo and Ramon's conversation. Thank you for translating this essential information. Ahh, little does Leo know the tangled web of lies and deceit he is uncovering...

My feelings about David have changed. I think he's a spoiled, inconsiderate, rather rude dude. "Fausto tries to convince her she deserves someone better". I'm with Fausto unless David does a 360, and quickly...

Can't wait to read Part 2!

Diana

I just saw a post at TNW saying that LVO is scheduled to go back to five nights a week when Mira Quien Baila finishes up at the end of next month.

See "...Don't give up on this novela -- I sure won't!"

Hi, Diana! :-) Are you back? Always nice to read you.

David is not Mr. Squeaky Clean, but I still love him. I keep in mind that I think Adolfo is his father, and he has challenging genes.

I think he and Gabriela have good chemistry, and when he kisses her, I get the shivers.

Jeri, thank you for the update the LVO will be back to 5 nights soon! That's very encouraging news.

I'm back and delighted to be so...

So, when is Juan going to meet Ale?? Let's get the "other" romance up and running. EY is just so handsome here...Sigh.

Forgive me for repeating this if it's already been mentioned but Fuego en la Sangre is going to be rerun at 1:00 p.m. starting on Wednesday (Telefutura). So, EY fans who can watch or tape, be on the lookout. I love the theme song, Vincente Fernandez is the best.

Aribeth, I forgot to mention, your pictures were wonderful!

Diana

Thanks Aribeth! Waiting anxiously for part 2!

Roberto called Gabi and Julieta "golddiggers" a few episodes back, yet he was trying to get Alexandra to marry him just for her fortune. I guess he's irony deficient. Another thing I've noticed, for someone whose father owns a garment factory, he certainly dresses cheesy. Did anyone else notice his crappy shirt? Maybe he wears the factory rejects to save money. I sure hope Julieta sees the truth about this guy soon.

Elsa doesn't understand why Carlos didn't recognize Juan José. It's because JJ was a convenient "throwaway" person to take the fall for he and Roberto's "misdeed" years ago. I'll bet Carlos doesn't even know the name of the girl that they killed.

Uh oh.

Looks like we are pre-empted again tonight! Futbol and reruns (at least here in Massachusetts) . Gack!

Diana

Hi, ladies, thank you for the comments. :) I have to confess I had a very long and exhausting day and haven't had time and opportunity to finish the summary yet. Since this evening is pre-empted (thx, Unidiotvision), so you won't miss anything if I send Jeri the second part tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience!
Preview:
Mario tells Ale he's dying.

Jeri:
LVO is scheduled to go back to five nights a week
Wow, I'm glad to hear that! (And if it's true then it means the show won't be cancelled. We were afraid of that a little bit.)

Xlntperuvian:
LOL, you're right about Roberto. In Hungarian slang his type is called "Taygetus positive". Taygetus is the mountain near Sparta where the sick/weak newborn babies (who would've weakened the Spartan military society) were abandoned. Taygetus positive is a person who's hopelessly stupid, irritating and useless.

Diana:
So, when is Juan going to meet Ale??
THE MILDEST SPOILER EVER
Next week. :) And it'll be a great scene.
SPOILER END

Don't worry about it Aribeth. I know the second half will be worth waiting for.

Taygetus positive is a person who's hopelessly stupid, irritating and useless. Loved this description! Unfortunately it could be applied to the majority of people in the US government right now. On both sides of the aisle. ;)

Thanks Aribeth! I'm sorry you had such a long and tiring day. That makes us appreciate your efforts all the more! I know the time and effort you and the other recappers put into these.

Will look forward to reading the second half whenever it's ready. Hope you get a good rest tonight and that tomorrow is a better day!

Diana

Hi everyone and thank you thank you to all the recappers. I just got back from New Mexico on Friday and spent the weekend trying to catch up on all the shows I watch. I watch the 3 primetime ones also. I finally gave up trying to see them all and came here and thankfully was able to catch up because of all the wonderful recaps. I am also in a hurry for Juan to meet up with Ali and get this other romance started. I am looking forward to getting back to watching every night (this one sometimes during the next day) and commenting again.

Sorry about the double posts. It didn't appear to go through the first time.

Thanks Aribeth,
Another pre-emption tonight but at least we know the show will be returning to five nights a week next month. I was crossing my fingers that JJ will find that treasure soon. The scene when Mario admitted to Alex's that he's dying was very touching. I teared up myself.

"So, when is Juan going to meet Ale??
THE MILDEST SPOILER EVER
Next week. :) And it'll be a great scene.
SPOILER END"

Looking forward to this.

Irony deficient, LOL, Xlnt. Roberto lies so easily but he is getting in over his head with Adolfo, me thinks.

This novela is so satisfying and the recaps. links, and photos enhance the enjoyment. Thanks so much Aribeth and Jeri. Aribeth, I'm looking forward to part 2 and reading it tomorrow will fill in the gap of our missing episode for tonight.

I loved the look on Leonardo's face when Ramon gave him the background info on Adolfo Avila. He knows something is very fishy here.

Mario Genoves is such a dear man so it will be sad to see him go. Hopefully, Adelardo, Ale and Fausto/Santiago can carry his plan out successfully.

And I'm waiting for Juan and Asuncion to strike gold.

GinCA

Thanks Aribeth, I love your style ..... clear and concise.  Hope you are having a quieter day today!

This is a wonderful novela. I particularly loved the conversation between Fausto and Gabi. So many times family discussions don't go quite like that. He called her to the sofa, took her hand and talked lovinly to her, who wouldn't respond to that very dear approach?   Ole EY has cornered the acting market on big, bumb, lovable guy hasen't  he!

Diana, I think (hope!) that David is basically a good guy, he is letting the green eyed monster control him. He does need a quick turn around or us girls may put him on our black list especially  for calling Gabi names.  Watch out David, we're watching you!!!!

GinCA.....I'm wanting that shovel to hit something too!

Thank you, Sandy! :)

Lynda, glad to see you again!

I think (hope!) that David is basically a good guy, he is letting the green eyed monster control him.
I agree. And don't forget, most telenovela galáns are jealous, insecure kids...

We should start a drinking game. Every time EY says the words "vengeance" or "take revenge", drink. After watching Yo compro esa mujer, Guadalupe, LVO, FELS and CS we would end up in rehab.

The scene with Ale and Mario was beautiful. I don't want him to die, he's just as lovely as Remigio, Noel and Doctorcito from CS. I'm glad that he told her everything. He needs more allies.

Part 2 is up! Lovely, thank you Aribeth!

I'm so glad Mario has a good niece like Alejandra to talk to and depend on. Thank goodness! That was such a sad scene.

P.S. Oh, yeah; I wanted to say that I'm thinking the physicians in the Swiss facility he goes to may be able to cure him. Wouldn't that be nice?

Thanks Aribeth for the great recap. The title was so true. I was crying myself.

Thanks Jeri for the links.

Wow, JJ's anger really burst when he saw Carlos. I think he should have told Carlos who he was to make Carlos feel some fear.

It was so touching to see Mario and Abelardo crying over what cannot be avoided. So sad. Abelardo is a very loyal employee. At least now Mario also told Ale about his illness and the whole story. At least he now knows that he can depend on her. He should also tell David everything. I am sure David would help him as well. Wonder if there is a reason for not telling David???

Lucky Gabi having three cute guys after her. David won her over again. Must be his kissing technique, lol. I agree with others David and Gabi go really good together. Must say I am really liking Gabriel Soto in this role.

Aribeth, loved your 'Taygetus positive', lol. Roberto really needs to be put out of his misery for all our sakes. Now he is digging a deeper hole for himself especially if he does whatever Adolfo tells him. He is really disgusting when he is with Adolfo. I can almost see his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging wanting to please Adolfo. Who does Adolfo want to kill???

xlntperuvian, loved your 'irony dificiency' concerning Roberto.

Margaret

I would have liked to see more action in David's office when Leo drew his gun. What else happened?? then Leo and Gabi were in the apartment?? Oh well, lol.

Margaret

Oh, yeah; irony deficient was precious! LOL

I would have liked to seen a bit more action BEFORE Leonardo got there and BEFORE Carlos got there. ;-)

Aribeth, thanks for the rundown of Leonardo's assistant on Adolfo's past. It was way too much for me to digest.

Strange that Adolfo doesn't recogize how much Gabriela resembles Marta.

Thanks to our faithful recappers. Univision is not making it easy to stick with this novela. I really want to record this show, but I can never figure out when it's going to be on. What nights is it showing ?

Susanlynn:
It's broadcasted on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. (And it's pre-empted at least one time every week...)

I just checked, and the show is pre-empted tonight, as well.

Univision has been running non-stop coverage of the Chile mining rescue and pre-empted all its shows tonight.

So far this week, the show has been on one time.

it seems as if they plan to dig a fourth rescue tunnel for the Chilean miners
Is this a punishment for this joke? :)

No, I'm happy that the miners will be rescued soon. But it's ridiculous to be pre-empted so many times.

The show is ON! One hour late; I don't know what made me look.

The Wednesday episode is playing now.

Thank you Aribeth and Jeri. You two are doing a great job with these recaps.

If JJ only knew what Roberto and Adolfo have planned for him.

Now Elsa also owes Roberto. Poor girl.

Margaret

¿Telenovela mejicana del gusto de Gregory House?
