Llena de Amor #40 Fri 10/1/10

Many apologies but I won't be able to do the recap for Friday's episode. I was hoping I could but I am not going to be able to. Sorry and hopefully someone can summarize in the comments.

Comments:
My Spanish isn't good enough yet to do a "real" recap, but I'll try to do what I can, and then I know others will fill in the blanks. I still have the episode on DVR.

I'm firing up the recording now! LOL.

And I should add, your recap will be missed, Ferro94!

I guess I was too long-winded, because I keep on getting error messages about how my HTML is too long. Will post this in bits.

PART ONE:

DISCLAIMER: My Spanish is decent for reading (subtitles) but it does fail me at times. I have been looking forward to all the recaps because sometimes you guys fill in the blanks! I *think* I understood the majority of this episode, but PLEASE everyone, correct me if I made a mistake! Thank you.

Rewind of Friday: Lowenzo and Fedra are canoodling somewhere indiscreet, and Muñeca of course walks in. They are able to cover for their obvious act of sleaziness in a way that seems to satisfy her.

Ilitia comes to confront Mari about being in love with Emanuel. Mari mentions something about her novio Brandon, and Ilitia makes snide remarks about him being a naco (equivalent of "poor white trash") but that he's "good enough" for Mari. They have that "yo soy sexy" thing in the background (but I really think it's "you're so sexy"). Marianela gets somewhat sarcastic (yay Marianela!) and says something like she knows other models who are not a pain in the neck, like the one staying at the pension (Begoñia), who has a baby. This is information that will be used later to move the plot along, so they've got to stick it in there.

More evasion and nonsense from Fedra and Lorenzo to fool poor Muñeca. She of course falls for it and starts necking Lorenzo right in front of Fedra for some lame reason.

Ilitia says she doesn't believe Mari, because she's seen the stupid pink diary. Mari grabs Ilitia and shakes her like "WHAT?!?!?" Then of course Emanuel, the terminally Clueless One, walks in all innocent and asks, "Everything okay?" The girls pretend to be chummy.

Axel's at the police station, and Oliver and Brandon are questioning him. He's saying the they should know that he's not guilty.

PART TWO:

At the Dysfunctional Dinner Table, Fedra offers a toast to Tia Carlotta. But Carlotta wants to toast to be to Mari. Fedra looks less than pleased but she plasters a fake smile on her face as the toast is given. Emiliano then makes some bogus toast to his family, and Gretel asks, "What about Axel, papa?" Good one, Gretel.

It's time for Mari to go home. Emanueal eagerly jumps up to offer her a ride, all puppy-dog hopefulness. Of course Ilitia says, no, let the chauffeur do that. Tia Carlotta jumps in and encourages Emanuel to give Mari the ride, so of course they have to go along with it.

Aunt Netty is of course TALKING OUT LOUD about her deepest feelings about Emiliano in such a way that Doris walks by and hears it all. Only in novela-land does this happen. Of course Doris goes in, gives her a hug, and then they talk all about Netty's Forbidden Love of Emiliano (who totally doesn't deserve it, since he's being a ***** about Axel.)

Back at the Dysfunctional Household everyone is chatting after dinner, pretending they are normal or something. Muñeca says, "By the way Emiliano, I have this model Begoñia that is going through a tough time and I want to help her." Ilitia sticks her beak in and says that Begoñia has a baby. Muñeca is like, "Que?"

Oliver calls the family home. Gretel RUSHES to the phone (waiting for a call, Gretel?) and then tries to bite off Oliver's head when she finds out it's him. He tells her, no, he's calling about Axel. Gretel is impactado. (See, I learn from you guys.)

Mari and Emanuel are at the pension. Mari wants to go inside. She says (I think) that Netty and Brandon wouldn't be thrilled to see Emanuel there. But Emanuel holds her back. He's got the surprise for her and he thinks that will change everyone's mind. He offers the silver lily. She is thrilled and starts to hug him but then doesn't.

PART THREE:

Oliver tells his "sad princess" that Axel is in custody for drugs. Again Gretel is impactado.

Ilitia is talking about Begoñia and her baby and being her typical snotty self about it. Muñeca is annoyed. Ilitia talks about "living with all those "nacos" in the pension, like it's some big joke. Ilitia also blabs about how Begoñia got in love with some "viejo rabo verde" (dirty old man—I had to look this up!). Lorenzo looks discomfited. Muñeca points to Lorenzo and says, "Tú?" (Uh oh!) and then "Tú lo sabías? Lorenzo blusters with some nonsense.

Mari is thrilled about the silver lily. Emanuel is smiling contentedly because he made her happy. Now she gives him a hug and kisses him on the cheek. Oops, her eyes get big and she extracts herself from the hug. Emanuel does on of his Deep Meaningful Looking Into Her Eyes things and she fantasizes about him offering her an engagement ring instead of the silver lily. "Sí Emanuel, sí!" Close-up fantasy kiss.

Emanuel is going to go, and it's starting to rain. Mari talks to Eman about when they were kids and played together. Mushy Deep Meaningful Looks again. Then Emanuel asks her, "Are you happy with Brandon?"

Ilitia is getting a little insecure about La Gorda and Emanuel. Kristel says, "Don't even go there, sister" and tells Ilitia how smart she is and her "super fashion" and Ilitia drinks it all up.

Ilitia starts to tell Kristel about the rape attempt by Creepy Orange guy, and for the first time I actually feel sorry for Ilitia, because Kristel freaks out and gets angry and Ilitia basically lets it drop.

Back to Emanuel and Mari. More Deep Meaningful Looks, and Emanuel leans in to give Mari a kiss on the cheek. Of course Brandon walks in right then and looks impactado. Emanuel gives his puppydog Ooops face.

PART FOUR:

More garbage from Creepy Orange Boyfriend and Kiristel, who are giving poor Ilitia the stinkeye. Ilitia gives a subtle warning to Orange and walks off.

Then Kristel turns on Orangy and asks him something about what's going on. (Sorry, missed the nuance there.)

Muñeca, Lorenzo, Emiliano and Tia Carlotta are talking more about Begoñia and her kid. Muñeca says that she knows being a single mom is not easy. Lorenzo is blustering (something) about Begoñia (I think he doesn't want her to work at the agency). They're all asking about the fake "boyfriend," André (the guy Lorenzo set up to fool Muñeca and convince her that he—Lorenzo—wasn't Begoñia's boyfriend). Emiliano says he'll call in André (who is an employee of the agency) at work and talk to him. Tia Carlotta comments that Lorenzo looks a tad pale.

Begoñia is chatting with her friend Jacky, who is coming back to Mexico.

Brandon wants to know what's going on. What did he interrupt? He's having none of their reasons. He's pretty fired up and walks off in a huff. Marianela chases after him and Emanuel looks a bit smug like he's not unhappy about this at all.

Mari and Brandon argue inside the pension. She's trying to say it's no big deal—it was just a little kiss on the cheek. He thinks it is. He doesn't want to talk to her anymore so she leaves his room.

Kristel is still yelling at The Orange One, and he's trying to placate her and it's working. "You're the only woman in my life" he lies. She gives him a little more lip and then they kiss. Then Tia Carlotta appears out of nowhere. She seems to recall that Orangey is the son of someone (who I think is disreputable). Kristel sticks up for Orangey but Tia says she doesn't want to see any more scenes like that one (them smooching) and basically Tia is not overly fond of Orangy.

The next morning at the pension, Brandon makes a big show of being cheerful and greeting everyone at the breakfast table with a kiss, except for Mari. When Aunt Netty inquires about this, Brandon puts his arm around Mari and says with exaggerated sweetness, "Marianella enjoys kisses, but not mine." Gulp. Mari looks discomfited. Netty wants to know what's going on.

Creepy Spiderus guy and Fedra are talking and I think Fedra is planning to get all of Mari's considerable fortune.

PART FIVE:

Oops, sorry about the double part five! I was getting weird error messages.

PART SIX

Mari tells everyone at the pension breakfast table that the big furor with Brandon was that he saw her cousin kiss her on the cheek. No biggie. The other ladies say that Brandon is a jealous guy and she's got to be patient with him. Doris feels bad for Brandon, seeing Mari get kisses from Emanuel (Doris knows that Mari is in love with Mari) but Doris and Brandon's mom (forget her name) laughs that off—they're just cousins, after all! Cue guilty look from Mari.

Then the conversation drifts to Tia Carlotta. Mari says that Fedra was so nice all evening. Aunt Netty observes that a demon cannot transform into an angel like that. Mari nods her head knowingly.

Lawyer guy (one of Netty's suitors) visits Tio Maximo. Lawyer guy wants to know what Tio's complaint against Nedra is. Tio talks about how she is evil, and then asks (I think) if Lawyer guy thinks he (Maximo) is out of his head. Lawyer guy says of course not, but he's thought bubbling that he's not so sure. (I think.) He proclaims that he doesn't want his money falling into the hands of that woman. Lawyer guy nods knowingly.

A scene at the pension between Netty and Gladiola (I think that's her name—Brandon and Doris's mom). I guess I'm losing it a bit but I think that Gladiola is cautioning Netty to not be too confident that her comeback into showbiz will be seamless. Netty is all confidence and breezes out of the house wearing a fetching black floppy hat. Gladiola wants to follow but she's got Christian (Begoñia's baby) in her arms.

Outside of the offices of Emiliano and Emanuel's business, Begoñia and Mari meet. They are both going to get work there. They walk into the offices together.

Business meeting with Emiliano and Emanuel. New employee walks in, Marianela! Emanuel stands up, impactado and pleased.

Creepy Orange guy comes back to hit on poor Ilitia again. (I never thought I'd write the words "poor" and "Ilitia" together.)

Emanuel is happy that Mari will be working there, he's just surprised. Slimy Lorenzo welcomes her to the business. Emanuel hugs her and kisses her on the top of her head. Emiliano asks Emanuel to fetch his friend André. Will do, Emanuel says.

PART SEVEN:

More of the disturbing and creepy attempted rape of poor Ilitia. Orange guy is just so slimy. He tells her to be quiet. He says (I think) that he's capable of disfiguring her face. (YIKES!) He jumps on top of her as she struggles. The maid (awesome maid) and Fidel come in and throw him out. Orangy throws creepy insolent kiss to Ilitia and leaves.

At the police station, Brandon is generally bummed out, and Oliver is all perky. Gretel walks in looking for her brother.

Emanuel has his team at work welcome their new employee, Mari. Happy happy happy. Emanuel says something snippy about Brandon (I think) and Mari sticks up for him. "Es mi novio!" she says with emphasis. He's got a reason to be upset, she says. Emanuel seems decidedly not unhappy about Brandon's distress. He makes some allusion to how Mari is his (Emanuel's) . . . his . . . his what? (Like he's got some claim on her.) His . . . cousin! Oh yeah. Denial denial denial Emanuel. You can't keep doing it forever.

There's some talk about Emanuel's girlfriend and then Jacky (the girl who was talking to Begoñia on the phone) comes up behind Emanuel and gives him a big kiss. She is his ex. She is gorgeous and thin and is wearing the loudest hot pink dress in existence. Mari's eyes bug out as Jacky gives Emanual a long kiss.

Brandon, who is walking out the door, tells Gretel that Axel is underage so his parents have to get involved. Then somehow (sorry I missed this part) Oliver and Gretel start talking about how Brandon and Mari are novios. Gretel didn't know this. Oliver sees this as his chance to move in and give Gretel some smooth moves. Gretel is not completely immune to this and it looks like Oliver is moving in for a kiss, but instead we cut to . . .

Jacky the gorgeous model with the loud pink dress finishes her kiss with Emanuel. She is introduced to Mari. She seems nice. Mari comments that Emanuel about how he likes his girlfriends to be gorgeous and thin. Jacky takes this as a compliment but it looks like Emanuel is a tad squirmy about it. Then I think Jacky says something about Ilitia being a pain in the neck (not sure about this) and Mari helpfully says, "Oh, and she's Emanuel's novia right now." Then Mari takes off and Emanuel blusters.

PART EIGHT! (THE END, FINALLY!)

Emiliano and Lorenzo are seeing Begoñia in their office. Emiliano wants to help her. Lorenzo hypocritically makes some comment about how she never mentioned that she had a kid. She says oh yeah, I mentioned it, don't you remember? Lorenzo blusters. Emiliano says that her ex-novio (André) is working at the same place, they hope it won't be a problem for her. Then André comes in the office. It's big news that she's got a baby. He emphatically says that it's not HIS baby!

Fedra is having some creepy slimy conversation with someone (sorry, I don't know who—is it Lorenzo?) saying that they'll have an unforgettable night. Of course Tia Carlotta comes along and wants to know what that's about. (Seriously, do all these people do is talk in public and have others overhear them? Well, it is novela-land.)

Avances: They talk so fast (so I could be wrong), but it looks like Mari is vexed with Emanuel. Emanuel seems to be recklessly asking Ilitia to set a date for their wedding as she looks thrilled (and Emanuel later does exaggerated face-palm thing). Gorgeous Jacky in the loud pink dress comes onto Emanuel with another deep kiss as Ilitia looks vexed.

Sweeney32, great, funny recap. You are a natural. Thank you so much.

There must be a shortage of lawyers in TN land. I have seen only two and they are both terrible.

I love the color of Tia's hair! I cannot believe she believes everything Fedra says. Hopefully, that will change.

Dad will not be too happy about Axel and the drugs, but I am not so sure about Mommie Dearest.

Rosemary

Sweeney32 you are awesome! Not only did you do a real recap but you did a most excellent one. I don't think you missed a thing. Honestly, we don't always understand everything that's being said but it seems to me your comprehension is amazingly good. You should be a regular recapper because you have a great writing style.

You are so right about the constant talking out loud. Even their thought bubbles are said aloud.

I had to laugh when you said you couldn't believe you were using "poor" and "Ilitia" in the same sentence. She's got quite a problem on her hands with Orangey. What a slimeball, and kind of stupid too. I'm very curious as to how she's going to manage this.

Sweeney, thanks so much for coming to the rescue and providing your considerable talent.

Rosemary, in TN land the lawyers, judges and doctors are all either incompetent or corrupt. Go figure.

Good job Sweeney

Wow, thank you everyone! I am so glad I did okay. Bless your hearts. I'm relieved that I didn't mess up the recap too much!

I wouldn't mind being a "pinch hitter" or backup recapper, but since I learn so much from everyone else's recaps (stuff I missed) so I don't know if I'm ready to do it regularly. Thank you again for all your kind words!

I am looking forward to Monday, because I want to know what is going to happen with Brandon (will he pull the plug in the fake "novios" thing with Mari or what)? And what will happen with Axel?

And I agree, Orangey is terminally stupid. So flagrantly trying to go after Ilitia again. Does he think she'll have no recourse but to submit? Why would he think that? What is his malfunction? (Other than being a complete sleazeball rapist.)

Sweeney32, I agree you have great recapping style! Excellent work; thanks so much for writing it all up.

Malicio El NaranHO seems to have a very dangerous thrillseeking compulsion, in addition to just being a creep. I think Tia Carlota said something about his father having had to flee the country but I can't remember why. In any case, he seems bored and causes trouble just for something to do. He's got a novia who's hot to trot at any moment, yet he needs to go looking for more? Gross enough, but choosing Kristel's best friend as a target would indicate it's not about sex, it's just about getting away with something big. Plus, he seems to have loads of money, yet he's involved in Lorenzo's black market booze scheme. I'm looking forward to the day it all blows up on him.

I love Marianela's rediscovered sass. Those Milquetoast Mari days were tedious.

But my absolute favorite...Gretel and Oliver. They're so sweet.

Sweeny32, that was absolutely great. Thanks so much for jumping in as you did. Not only quite accurate, but full of insight and clever humor.

"(I never thought I'd write the words "poor" and "Ilitia" together.)"

Indeed.

One addition, I believe that Fedra was promising an unforgettable night to the judge that she was crawling all over at la Mala Noche the other night.

Thanks again, you're definitely a keeper.
Carlos

Sweeney32...OUTSTANDING. You are ready to be a recapper. Great writing style, great comprehension. Nobody gets it all. And we all pitch in with suggestions when a recapper is flummoxed because we know next time it will be our turn. Hope you will be a regular recapper somewhere, or definitely a super-sub if there are no openings.

I confess to only being an occasional viewer of this tn (I bailed early because of all the fat jokes). And, thus, I haven't been commenting.

But, Sweeney, I have to make an exception today. You wrote a great recap! It was complete and funny and insightful. You should do this more often. Stepping in at the last minute, you deserve our special thanks. I hope I get the pleasure of reading your work again.

Sondie

Way to go, sweeney32! Nuttin' but net! We had missed most of this episode and were really happy you jumped in and provided such a great recap. You're a natural.

Thanks so much for your recap sweeney32. As others have mentioned, it was great (no one would know it was your first) and you filled the gap at the minute.

Wow, you guys are all so encouraging! Thank you. And thank you so much Julia and Carlos and anyone else who fills in any blanks I missed. I really needed that. It's nice to have someone else (or in the case of this blog, a lot of someone elses) confirming that you understood what was going on, and also pointing out the parts that were a bit hazy to you.

See, all your encouragement went to my head and I even created a blogger account, so it's easier to comment! LOL.

So sure, if at any time there is a need for a "back up" recapper, I'll be happy to give it a shot. (I currently watch Llena de amor regularly, and Soy tú Dueña semi-regularly. I think I could only recap Llena though—I'm still catching up on Soy tú Dueña.) And I think I'll try to follow Eva Luna when it comes on.

That was fantastic. I can't thank you enough.

Yay Sweeney32! You did a fabulous job!

Sweeney32....glad to know you plan to watch Eva Luna which I think we'll be at the 8 pm time. We need substitute recappers at that hour pretty regularly. We have regular recappers who travel and there are often openings. Welcome aboard!

JudyB, okay, that sounds great. I am very curious about Eva Luna, and think that I can juggle it and Llena and keep up with both. I look forward to being a back-up capper, and thanks for the welcome!

Thanks again Sweeney - I will come find you when I need a substitute again! You did a great job and if your schedule allows you should really take a weekly spot on some show.
