Llena de Amor #56 Wed 10/27/10 ?

...I don't want to step on toes here, but I'm not sure whether there's going to be a recap and thought people might want to discuss the episode.

Cathy, I hope you're doing well!

So, the major action:

Oliver rescued Gretel from the house of horrors. In the process Fedra got his gun at one point and threatened him. Axel is maybe starting to wonder about his mother a little, especially since Marianela told him that the only reason he doesn't hate her is that he doesn't remember the horrible things she did to him.

Brandon got the evidence that showed the helicopter explosion was no accident.

Carlota headed back to Spain.

Emanuel told Emiliano that he believes he is not his biological son.

Ilitia's back. Emanuel told her he is not going to marry her (AGAIN).

Also there was some action with Begoña, Lorenzo, and the baby at a park. It seemed like Lowrenzo kidnapped the baby and some shady guys might do away with Begoña? But then they didn't? I missed part of that so I'm not sure.

Thank you, Julia!
This was a terrific episode. Wasn't Delicia a hoot?! I didn't get what motivated Carlota to apologize to Paula. I guess we're supposed to think that her revised opinion of Fedra had something to do with it, but that 180 degree change didn't seem plausible.

Is Ilitia suddenly going to get mommy instincts?

So Bernardo has had the hots for Fedra all along! That was quite a scene. Why did she call him incestous? Hmmm.

And wouldn't he know Gretel isn't her real child? If he's stuck to her side all this time as an assitant, you'd think he would have gone to Spain with her while she was "pregnant."

Another headline: Emanuel told Ilitia that the engagement was off.

Lately it's felt like the end isn't far off, but somebody said we have 175 episodes. Since we're just in week 12, we're not even halfway through...

Oh, I'd completely blanked out Bernardo's assault of Fedra! It was gross. So he had already been working for Captain Sevilla on the boat, and then Fedra came along...

I was wondering about Ilitia, too. After her initial scare and outrage at finding Manzanita in her room, she seemed almost thoughtful about the little girl's situation. Maybe even a bit sympathetic? Can this be?

I hope it occurs to Emiliano and Emanuel that they can get a paternity test and prove that Fedra is lying, even if they still won't know who Emanuel's biological father is.

I still don't think Carlota likes or approves of Paula, but she recognizes that she's done something awful to her and that her care has been vital to the kids, since their mother is so awful. I think Carlota is the hardest character to understand. She's had a complete reversal in her opinion of Fedra...but she knew Fedra would fake a pregnancy and take a baby without asking questions about its origins to keep her husband...how decent a person could she possibly have thought Fedra was? It's all very oblique. Not to mention, it's odd that she had accepted Fedra in the family without knowing all about her background, since she's such a snob.

Guys, do you have Cathy's email address? As far as I can tell, she has not done a recap since early September? Have any of you heard from her?
+ + + +

As soon as Tia Carlota started making amends to Paula, I figured her end was near, right? Make amends, ask pardon...and kick the bucket.

Leaving for Charlotte early tomorrow Sylvia so will miss the show and your recap. Will catch up when we get back.

JudyB - Uh oh about Cathy! I don't have her e-mail address..

Have fun on your trip!

JudyB - I just thought: Maybe Melinama has her e-mail..

When Fedra and Marianela were struggling for control of Oliver's gun and it was fired several times into the ceiling, I was thinking, "I really hope Gretel's closet, where Bernardo and Dastardly Doc are locked up, is right above them." No such luck, I guess.

Thanks everyone for filling in the blanks. We had a pretty bad thunderstorm last night during the show and the satelite kept going out and I missed most of the show. I kept yelling at the tv but the satelite didn't care.

Thanks for starting this discussion, Julia! I hope Cathy is doing okay!

Yeah, it looks like Lorenzo is revving up to do Begoñia in, doesn't it?

WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD scene with Bernardo making a move on Fedra and then being told it's incest. WEIRD. I want to see how that all pans out.

Marianela is having dizzy spells. I guess each candy in that box has a little bit of poison? Pretty soon she's going to succumb. They're dragging this out! Well, it is a telenovela! LOL.

I'm proud of Emanuel for telling Ilitia that the marriage is no-go, but you can just bet that something is going to drag him back in, right?

Yeah, I am getting conflicting messages from Tia Carlotta. I suspected that she was never written to be full-on villain (the way Fedra is), but I didn't suspect that they'd give her such a quick turnaround and have her apologize to Paula, either. I agree, Tia Carlotta's days may be numbered. I agree as well, it isn't consistent that she bought into Fedra and was okay with her, even though Carlotta has been such a snob otherwise.

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode!

Sweeney - I was too late to comment the day you put up the link to your YouTube video. I was astonished at what you'd done with it. Fond and funny, and all the clips and titles, etc. Wow! I sent the link to family and friends and they loved it..

Thank you, Maggie! I'm glad you liked the video. I have more planned, if I can work around Televisa's heavy-duty policy of not allowing any clips on YouTube. (Or maybe they let that one video I made slide by, since it's obviously a commentary on the show and should be very obviously seen as "fair use.")
