La Verdad Oculta #50: Dood, where's my $5 mil?

* Leo tells Gaby that Marta was a dancer who was murdered by her husband. They also state that Adolfo, Fausto and Yolanda surely knew her, and Leo asks her to keep quiet about these information and let him first investigate about that woman.

* Fausto learns from Yolanda Gaby knows that he visited Marta's tomb and that she payed the expenses of the funeral. Can you hear the ceiling over Fausto cracking?

* Gaby tells Juli that JJ gave her his phone number and he wants to tell her about his past. Strange guy. Julieta encourages her to call him.

* Susana freaks out when she sees Marcos's picture in a newspaper.

* Ramón asks Leo if he think the shoes that Marcos was talking about are the same that the Guillén girls get rid of in LA? Leo doesn't know but the girls made photographs, didn't they. But he can't ask for the photos directly because he would have to tell Gaby everything. What if she passes to information to her husband who's Adolfo's associate? No, he'll speak with her father.

* Juan José visits Elsa at her workplace, but instead of this:

he finds this:

However, Medina is happy to see him and wants to have a private conversation with him. He shows JJ the picture of a man called Marcos Rivera Munoz and asks him if he has anything to do with Elsa Rivera Munoz. Yes, says JJ, he's Elsa's brother.

* Fausto asks Gaby about her new life? What is it like to live in the Genovés villa? It's great, though her father-in-law has changed much. He used to be so nice... Hmm-hmm. She says they also noticed that something had happened to him, Fausto, too. He objects: no, nothing happened, and please, girls, leave him in peace!

* JJ asks Medina about his relationship with Elsa. The architect says there's nothing between them but he likes her. How much? Actually, he would happily marry her. Oh no, you didn't. Elsa shows up in the office and Medina leaves the dysfunctional step-siblings alone.

* Ramón shows Leo the file of Marta's case. Our favourite detective learns that she and her husband had two little girls and the man fled with them. Vaya, vaya, vaya. Her orders Ramón to look for a picture about Santiago Guzmán.

* JJ tells Elsa that Marcos has been arrested. She burst into tears and he comforts her and advises her not to visit him. Marcos will never change and he may cause her trouble, he may use her and take her money away! But he's my brother, cries the girls. He is, but he doesn't love her, says JJ. Look at him and Asunción. They know each other for a short time but they love each other like they were brothers. Blood relations don't matter. Elsa is devastated.

* David huffs about the business again, the last report about the restaurants' incomings is ridiculous. He calls Adolfo and tells him tomorrow he is going to order an audit to prove the Ávilas are committing fraud. Oops no. 1. Dolphie starts to bicker with Carlos who says the Genovéses are their associates therefore they also have the right to do what they want. No, they don't, shouts Adolfo. Besides, that idiot David isn't even Mario's son! Oops no. 2.

* Caramelo and Medina's niece spend the afternoon together. Angie, who turns out to be a little Bertha, keeps asking about things that Caramelo doesn't even understand. What's her real name, what's her first name, who are her parents? Come on everyone has a father and a mother. The little girls starts to shout that she does have a family, JJ is her father, Elsa is her mother, and she has and uncle called Asunción Limón, okay?! Medina arrives at home and the little girl confesses to him that she lied to Angie, however, tío Mauricio promises to keep her secret. Cute.

* Leo tells Fausto about Marcos, the diamonds and Adolfo's stubborn and strange interest in Gaby's shoes. He knows Gaby is innocent but he has to investigate after Dolphie. So please give him the pictures the girls made in Los Angeles.

* Dolphie calls Bertha and asks her for Mario's address in San Miguel de Allende, he needs to talk with him.

* Fausto and Yolanda meet again and he tells her that something horrible happened, the detective friend of his is investigating after the shoes of Gabriela. Can you hear the ceiling over Yolanda cracking?

* In the hotel JJ learns that Caramelo is going to spend the night at Medina's flat. JJ sarcastically remarks that probably Elsa will spend the night there as well. Why? He imitates Medina and says: "because I like her muuuuch!" To forget his jealousy JJ calls his Alejandra and invites her for dinner. I love you, my queen! He's very pleased with himself but Asunción's expression tells everything about the situation.

* Finally Adolfo starts to accept the fact that the waitresses did get rid of the shoes and the diamonds in Los Angeles and that guy Marcos found them. And now he learns from Yolanda that a detective is looking for the photos of the shoes! He calls Bertha again and says the have to meet immediately. When she arrives at his flat Adolfo confesses he has a problem. He tells her about the girls' voyage to LA and that he needs the photos they made. And why? He's really sorry, but he can't tell her about that. You want me to steal those photos? Okay, says the little blond witch. He promises to give her everything she wants, and he gives her a special gift, a beautiful golden bracelet which makes her very happy. He repeats: anything you want.

* David invites Gaby for a romantic dinner, like they did in LA.

* A very nervous Abelardo calls Fausto and tells him about the audit David intends to order. When David enters the study he gives him the phone and Fausto quickly alters his voice and prohibits the audit. However, he can't finish the conversation because Julieta shows up, so he quickly hangs up. David is shocked.

* Medina calls Elsa. He would like to invite her for a dinner but right now she's too sad and lonely to go out.

* In the bedroom of David and Gaby Bertha finds the photos.

* In a nightclub Roberto has a great evening drinking and making out with three of young bimbos... Until Félix shows up. He lures him out of the building and outside he and two low-lifes give him a beat, put him into the luggage rack and take his ring which he must've stolen from Carlos.

Good morning! :-) Looking forward to Aribeth's summary. Meanwhile, here are the You Tube links for Episode 50:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Thanks! :)

The great title is created by Jeri.

Oh, and don't miss episode 51. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Can't wait for the recap Aribeth. Robertogollum has lost his precious. That screencap reminds me of this: "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

I'm glad JJ was nicer to Elsa after finding out that Marcos was apprehended. Leo is closing in more and more to the whole Mario?Fausto/Adolfo mess.

Don't miss episode 51 huh. You got me intrigued.

Pirate Babe- He was nicer to her for like a second after he devasted her witht he news of her brother. But he went right back to being snotty about her when Caramelo called to say she was spending the night at Mauricio's house. He then insulted Elsa behind her back by saying she's likely spending the night too! WTF?! And after Mauricio was so nice and such a gentleman, and respectfully told JJ of his good/long term intentions towards Elsa. He could have broken the news to her and been the shoulder for her to cry on, but he respected that she kept her brother's jailbird status from him and didn't want to put her in an uncomfortable position; respected that JJ is her close friend; and let JJ be the one to be there for her. And JJ's first response after imagining that Elsa is with Mauricio is to call up Ale for a date. And Ale doesn't need to be his fall back girl out of spite. He's not being totally fair to either woman.

Glad that David admitted to being a jerk to Gabi and that this has been a sh!tty start to a marriage, with little romance and lots of fights (mainly his fault). Hope they have a nice night out on the town.

So, will tonight's episode be a night of loving? Gabi and David? JJ and Ale? (I think Elsa is too distraught for it to be her and Mauricio, but it WOULD do her some good.) Is that what you're implying Aribeth? I hope so! Yay! :)

Leo's really starting to put it all together. But Adolfo has so many people feeding him info- Bertha and Yolanda, who's getting valuable info from Faustiago.

Looking forward to the recap Aribeth.

Ok, recap is up! Thanks a bunch, Aribeth!!!

Thanks Aribeth for the fantastic recap. Love your title.

Loved the pic of Elsa and your "Juan José visits Elsa at her workplace, but instead of this: he finds this:"

Ok, this is my wishlist. I want Mauricio to marry Elsa and then I want them to adopt Caramelo. What a man. He knows what he wants, he is tender, loving and generous. Elsa don't let him get away, lol.

I think JJ needs some counselling. He can't have both Elsa and Ale. He has to make up his mind already. I think maybe JJ is envious of Maurico and wants to be like him. Mauricio is successful in his job and popular with the women and also confident in any situation or surrounding. Whereas we have seen that JJ is the opposite of him, eg. expensive restaurants.

Oh no, the saga of the ugly zapatos continues, lol.

Margaret

Thanks, Margaret. The title is Jeri's. :)

I think maybe JJ is envious of Maurico and wants to be like him.

We know our MarySue Medina is perfect, cute, adorable, but JJ doesn't. They barely even met so far. He doesn't know if he's successful in his profession or he's popular amongst women, all he knows about him is that 1. he helped him when he needed, 2. he likes Elsa.
It's all about Elsa and JJ's wish to have her as an obedient sister, or a girlfriend, or I don't know what he wants anymore, he's more complicated than the Gordian Knot. If she was dating with Leo then he would hate him. Hopefully this madness will stop soon.

Thank you for the recaps Aribeth!

I'm sorry for being MIA again but I have been reading the recaps, it's just that my connnection has been awful and I stop trying to comment since the pages took hours to load, the word verification wouldn't show or I would just receive an error message. It appears to be better today but sometimes it gets slow again grrr.

I felt sorry for Elsa and I agree with JJ that he hasn't showed much love to her, especially after he stole from her. But, I must confess that I'd still go see my brother after a while if he was in such position. She should just stop giving in to Marcos's demands, considering that his being in jail again is all his fault and she shouldn't feel guilty for his fate anymore.

David and his temper, sigh, I wish I could believe he is going to change now but...

That pic of shocked Carlos is nice. I even like him with his eyes bulging out haha.

I don't know what to think with JJ's behavior. I do think he genuinely likes Ale and he has no romantic feelings for Elsa but I didn't like that he made a date with Ale out of spite.

Jarocha

Aribeth, great recap and I can't wait for epi 51. Will it be Roberto's swan song? He certainly didn't know how to disappear unnoticed. At least he may go out as the happy degenerate that he was.

The writers are driving me bonkers with their characterization of J J. He was once a sympathetic character but he has turned possessive, spiteful and mean. He is disrespectful to Mauricio and Elsa and now he is even using Ale. What's in your mind, J J. What do you want...both women, a substitute family, a fan club?

LOL at your line...Angie, the little Bertha. But Little Berta did make up nice to Caramelo. What a wonderful actress that little tot playing Caramelo is at what...6 or 7 years old?

Wasn't Big Bertha lucky to find the newlyweds out on the town. So far, she's been luckier for Adolfo than Roberto. Unfortunately, she's been blabbing important info without realizing it when she's been whining to Adolfo. Well, might as well get baubles or whatever for it now.

Wonderful how Leo is uncovering everyone's secrets except for Fausto's but in the end, Leo may find the real murderer of Marta (Adolfo most likely.)

GinCA

Meant too bad Leo is uncovering Fausto's secrets as well but in the end Leo will probably help find the real murderer of Marta.

Thanks for the recap Aribeth and the photos! And love the title, Jeri.

I have continued to be baffled by JJ's behaviour towards Elsa, really doesn't make any sense to me. The best I can say is he has confusing feelings, but the anger that shows up and making the date with Ale out of spite, weird. He also owes Medina alot and shouldn't be less than friendly with him.

I was dismayed that Faustiago told Yolanda about the photos, but then I guess if Adolfo and her were caught that would end the story too soon. And, of course, Gabi and David conveniently went out at the right time for Bertha to get ahold of them. Geez she is good at being hateful!

I don't know exactly what Adolfo has going about her, either. I know he is using her as a spy, and seems to be attracted to her but so far they are only confidants who flirt a little. He actually is an attractive older man in spite of being evil.

Poor Abelardo having to deal with Faustiago and trying to keep things from blowing up! He should not continue to trust Bertha, though, he should know better.

Loved how you described Mauricio's niece as a little Bertha!

Ivy

The only thing that does seem beanie-worthy is if Adolfo did have much to do with Marta, dead or alive, why doesn't he notice that Gabriela looks just like her?

I think Yolanda was just as suprised that Adolfo didn't take more of an interest in finding out more about Gabi's background when she pointed out how much Gabi looks like Marta. Once people stop being useful to him, he seems to forget them. He didn't recognize JJ either when he "met" him at the wedding. Everyone else did (Roberto, Carlos, Dora, and Mario). The man just doesn't care enough about people to pay attention to those details.

Vivi- yeah that could well be, that he doesn't really see them, they make no impression. I thought Yolanda didn't actually say who Gabriela looked like but just asked Adolfo if he noticed anything familiar about her. And he didn't, of course.

Great recap and photos Aribeth and thanks for the links Jeri. As usual, I had no channel 41 last nite until 5:00 a.m. this morning.

I always felt JJ cared for Elsa even though he didn't show it that much and I was hoping things would work out with them.

But now the way he is acting I hope she would give Medina a chance. He is a really good guy --far better than JJ.

Ann-NYC

Excellent! Why did Fausto include
that information about the photos
when talking to Yolanda? He knows
she hangs out with Adolfo, and I believe he knows that Adolfo was upset about the shoes, and he hates
and avoids Adolfo? Thanks

I also was wondering why Fausto told Yolanda about the photos. I think he knows she was interested in the shoes. But maybe he doesn't realize how close Adolfo and Yolanda really are. He wasn't at the wedding so he didn't see them together unless Julieta mentioned it. And they haven't been in touch since he's been on the run.

GinCA

Aribeth, thanks for the recap and photos!

I continue to get a chuckle or two each episode. One good laugh was when Limon kissed the beer bottle in imitation of JJ kissing the phone and another was that TERRIBLE glass eye of Felix's. That eye is MORE noticable than the patch! It looks like a Holloween mask!

Is Medina the best guy ever or what? I could set him up ten times over right here in Nashville! Yes, Elsa grab him while you still can.
