Llena de Amor #66 Fri 11/12/10

Once again I am completely out of time to do a recap, in fact I'm starting to think I won't be able to honor my weekly commitment to Friday nights. Sylvia and Sweeney did a fantastic job filling in last week, thank you! I would be much obliged if someone can put some comments to fill in what happened this week (I'm not even caught up on the story, I have been trying to read the recaps to keep up but I can't even find time for that). I think it isn't fair to keep everyone waiting every week only to have me bail out, so if there is anyone who wants to take over for me please let me know. If not, I will keep attempting to get a recap done. Thanks for your understanding.

Here's what I remember:

Don Max told Marianela that he strongly suspects Emanuel isn't Emiliano's biological son. Mari is simultaneously thrilled and worried that it will be too big an emotional blow for Eman and Emil if this is true.

Caimán, the criminal type who's been working as an informant with Brandon, turns out to be one of Reina Fedra's loyal subjects! They met up at La Mala Noche, where Fedra fired a bullet into a table (it did not penetrate) and got Caimán to substitute it for the bullet in evidence at the police station that Dolores was shot with. Brandon is planning to have the bullets analyzed to see if Dolores was shot with the same gun as Oliver...'cause they know Oliver was shot by Spiderus, though of course Spidey claims this was self-defense.

Gretel jabbed Dastardly Doc with the tranquilizer he was trying to give her and tried to escape from the manicomio. All the doors are locked but she managed to hide behind the reception desk (looked like it was after business hours) and call Oliver.

Kristel yelled at Emanuel when he was trying to be nice to her, claiming he's always been the favorite child and it's not faaaaaair.

Emiliano visited the jail to menace Mauricio.

What did I forget?

Oh, Emanuel made some soup for Mari (and made a huge mess of the kitchen in the process; I think he had more chopped vegetables all over the counter than in the pot) and while he stepped out to get Benigno to cut some white roses to go with it, Fedra added a whole bottle of poison or sleepytime drops or something. Will Mari eat it?

Chris, I really enjoy your recaps and hate to see you give it up altogether. I would be willing to take every other Friday if that would help out.

Carlos

Nereida stole some money that Spiderus found, so they decided to frame Marianela. She does not eat the poisoned food but goes off with Emanuel. The cat eats the food. Later, Fedra accuses Marianela of stealing the money. Everyone shows up in Marianela's room and Spiderus looks under the mattress to find the dough - surprise, surprise. Fedra goes after Marianela and Emanuel defends her. He goes after madre and tosses her across the bed. Fedra finds dead cat and accuses Marianela of doing the deed. Emanuel defends Marianela and comforts her in her grief over the cat. He, though, is beginning to put the pieces together and suspects that his mother did something to the soup.
Can't give you details because my Spanish is poor, but can do this much for you.

Carlos, YES please share Fridays with Chris!! It would be lovely to have you boys do a tag team.

I loved it when Gretel jabbed the evil doctor with his needle.

So what was up with Kristel? Where in the heck did her little tirade come from? That scene was kind of weird.

Wasn't Fedra positively NEFARIOUS when she poisoned the soup? She was skulking big time.

Thanks Julia!

Barbara, are you possibly an episode ahead of us? I think we left off with Emanuel just taking the soup to Marianela.

Yay, how thrilling to have Carlos recapping again!

Fedra just dumbfounds me with her greed and coldheartedness. Do we know what poison she's using? Pretty reckless putting it in the soup...what makes her think that her beloved son is not going to eat some of that, too? Or anyone else? Okay, probably the only person in the house she cares to have live is Emanuel; I think she's even pretty much done with hapless Spiderus, but still...

I was for real out-loud cheering for Gretel when she jabbed the doctor and ran away. I hope she's able to let Oliver know where she is.

No idea what brought on Kristel's outburst. Kristel seems to have led a charmed and favored existence herself. I'm hoping she and Ilitia will both be redeemed. They are both awful, but I think they might have better character way deep down.

good Morning All. Carlos, how wonderful that you're going to help out. That is terrific.

I was really impressed with Gretel's acting last night. She REALLY looked drugged out until that moment she sprang up and threatened evil doc.

As for Kristel's outburst. Three thoughts: 1) plot device to contribute to Emanuel's growing up process. He still needs to mature after all. 2) plot device to help convince Emanuel he is "different" to his mom, therefore has a different father 3) a consequence of the cruel tongue-lashing she received from her mother after going through a traumatic, albeit self-induced miscarriage, and the loss of her child-bearing ability. At that point she couldn't have been feeling very "favored". But otherwise, yes, Julia...she's pretty much been in the catbird's sead as a mini-Fedra.

Barbara M, I'm guessing that you are a day ahead. Could you tell me your source? If I'm going to recap, it's nice to get an early look.

I breathed a sigh of relief Fri. because I was so afraid that Grumpy Gato was going to eat the poisoned soup... an now...

These writers have proven that they are ruthless. It's rare that animals are victims, though the bad guy motally injures a horse in Niña Amada Mia and Berta poisoned her Rottweiler in Heridas de Amor, but I can't remember any other instances of animal murders. Surely this assures Fedra a first class ticket to Hell.

Last week I worried aloud about who would take care of Gretel's cat... little did I know that it would be Fedra... and permanently. Yikes!

Carlos

Judy, I think you are right on Kristel's outburst being the result of Fedra's "only Emanuel never lets me down" speech. She has been a spoiled brat to this point, but now she has to be feeling low and worthless and just needs to lash out at someone. just wonder how "changed" she becomes over this. I'm thinking maybe not so much yet.

It's rather ironic to get so into how the dastardly evil minions will meet their demise, and yet I was livid they hurt that poor cat.
why is mari still in that ouse anyway? max is up and about, she should just get back to the pension. Eman can be with her there better than the house.

I do not like the idea of Oliver being blamed for everything. as for the shooting Dolores - wasn't her with brandon that night somewhere I seem to recollect, so how could he shoot her? Hopefully someone remembers that and it blows holes in fedra's blackmail plan.

Chris, we understand the craziness. Just make sure you still join in the snark fest.

That doctor must have the constitution of a horse. The tranquilizer barely fazed him. My prediction: Kristel changes for the better and Gretel (temporarily) changes for the worse.m

Carlos, you must not have seen En Nombre de Amor. Puppycide, strangled birds...I think the only reason Carlota didn't kill more animals is because she didn't have them handy. That woman was twisted.

Julia, no, I missed en Nombre de Amor. I might have had difficulty defending Carlota. Fedra gets sort of a pass since Marianela was her intended victim. I remember being livid over the mauling of the horse in Niña Amada Mia.

Carlos

Chris – gasp! You mean telenovelas aren’t your whole life? Ha! Of course we understand, and thank you for giving it the old college try.

Carlos, you are a champ to offer to do some recaps. I look forward to them!

Thank you everybody for the remembered bits. I was surprised that Caiman turned out to be on the side of the Forces of Evil. I had thought he was there for comic relief, and I’d been enjoying his character. Oops – wrong again!

Yeah, except for Fedra’s outburst at the hospital, she’d been saying the Kristel was most like her.

At least Ilitia despairs fashionably. Instead of sitting on the floor in her jimmies with a bottle of tequila, she despairs artfully sitting in the chair with an elegant glass of red wine.

Maggie, Ilitia reminds me more and more of Coni in Gancho. Selfish, self-centered and thoughtless, but beautiful and elegantly stylish.

I'm still mourning that innocent grumpy kitty.

I loved Gretel's assault of the Dr. Very satisfying.

m, I hate to admit it it, but I really don't care what Cristal does, but I hope that Gretel doesn't change for the worse... she has enough problems already. I am afraid, however, that she is likely pregnant.

Carlos

I'm more worried that Ilitia may be pregnant. We know she's a pro-contraceptives, body-aware kind of gal, but who knows how sloppy she may have gotten when she was discombobulated over Emanuel dumping her and drinking for days besides. Plus, it's such a plot device in telenovelas and I can't believe she's done trying to snag Emanuel already.

Really hope Gretel isn't pregnant. I'd hope she and Oliver would be more careful, plus she's getting shot full of drugs all the time. She needs to get her life straightened out before she has children.

Julia thanks for the update. I'm glad Carlos will be stepping in and Chris, you know we completely understand out the real life.

I tried to post earlier and my message got "eaten." ITA w/Judy's nice list of why Kristel was acting out. I'm prone to go w/option #3 but we all know the first two are probably in play.

Carlos, my source is noseq.com. I'm trying to balance their episode numbers against what I think is going on now. Sometimes there seems to be an overlap as if when this TN runs in another country, the breaks for days are different. Sorry for giving a spoiler, but I certainly thought I saw what I wrote. Must have been from noseq.com.

If you'll google Llena De Amor capitulo (number), you usually can find the site that way. I know a whole lot more than I'm saying and I'll keep it at that. I won't offer any recaps since I can't be sure if I'm on the same day or not. Besides, I can only catch a few words. Basically I watch the scene, understand a few words, and then can pretty much reconstruct what's going on. Did that in Spanish class in college. I guess my almost 25 yrs. of working for the Department of Corrections helps me be good at analyzing visuals, but not necessarily audios.
