Eva Luna, Ep #36, 12/28/10—Laurita and dog flee while Icky is even more obnoxious.
Since this is a two-hour episode I did another summary-type recap. A few screencaps and one long video clip from the end of the episode(s) are added. We start with a small rewind of yesterday's episode. Don Julio wants to divorce Marcella and tells her off. Marcella spews crazy talk.
Alicia tries to reason with Eva who is still stuck on stupid regarding Daniel.
Don Julio wonders how come he let Justa slip through his fingers and how he married that evil witch Marcela. He says this to Renata who then tattles to Marcela. Meanwhile, Justa is looking through old photos of herself, Marcela and Don Julio, while a curious Adrian looks on. He tries to ask questions but Justa denies that the photos signify anything.
Leo tells Claw that he's tired of her because he's in love with someone else.
In the morning, at the mansion, Eva shows up at work and Renata talks trash to her. Eva asks her how come she hates her, and Renata says it's because she was hired without her (Renata's) approval.
Icky guilts Danny into giving her a goodbye kiss before he goes off to work. Laurita barges in just at this time and sees this. Danny ties to reassure her later but she's not listening.
Danny tries to reason with Laurita but of course doesn't actually explain specifically what's going on.
At breakfast, Eva has to listen while Marcela, Leo, and then Icky go on about how Icky and Danny are doing great and Icky smugly says she had a great night with him.
Eva is now pretty pissed and doesn't believe things are innocent.
Laurita is bummed and thinks that Danny is going to marry the bruja and then Laurita will be shipped off. She is taking a nap in bed and Danny comes in and says to her that things are not as they seem and he'll let her know that when she wakes up. Laurita is not asleep and after he leaves, she says to herself that she doesn't believe him.
Jacky goes on a date and Francisco is jealous, even though he won't admit it.
Claw finds out she's pregnant.
Icky sees Gallo and wants Danny trailed in order to find out if there's another woman. If there is, she'll deal with her. Uh oh.
Danny sees Eva walking down the street and confronts her. They have this animated conversation where she tells him to be happy with Icky and he tells her it's not so.
Laurita's teacher calls Danny in for a meeting and tells him that she's concerned for Laurita.
Alicia is going to see Carlos in jail which makes Tony jealous, even though he's off to have a date with Jacky (unbeknownst to Alicia, of course). He convinces Alicia to see Carlos the next day and he (Tony) will accompany her.
Laurita has run away from home. Francisco frantically looks for her, and then tells an impactado Danny that she's gone. Laurita hs left a note on her bed saying that she's leaving because she thinks he's marrying the bruja. Laurita ends up visiting Adrian.
Adrian's bright idea is to sneak Laurita (and dog) into the pension.
Claw is trying to reach an elusive Leo to tell him the Big News.
Daniel goes to the pension looking for Laurita. Eva is concerned too and they ask Adrian about her, but Adrian lies.
Eva and Danny are leaving the pension in order to search for Laurita. Gallo's man photographs them comforting each other with a hug. However, the investigator has car trouble so he can't follow them when they drive off.
Meanwhile, a paranoid Icky comes over to Danny's house asking for him, while a Jacky and Francisco awkwardly say he's not there. There's also a scene later where (I think) Francisco says that they (or is it Laurita?) don't want her to marry Danny, but Icky nastily says that she will be married to Danny and when she is, "things will change around here." She couldn't be more bitchy.
Claw finally catches up with Leo and tells him the news. He is pissed. Claw stupidly even admits that she trapped him by not taking her birth control. Leo threatens her.
Eva and Daniel report Laurita missing to the LAPD.
Adrian brings food up to Laurita, who is hiding in his room.
Gallo tells Icky that Danny is seeing another woman and soon they'll have more proof. Icky is all freaked out by this, as expected. She finds out he's at the LAPD and gets a ride from Leo there. She finds him alone in an office room and hugs him as Eva walks into the room bringing coffee. Eva and Danny look impactado at each other while an oblivious Icky clings to Danny.

Sweeney, you about nailed it. Two hours! Yish-and most of it I thought was needless filler - and way too much Icky. (My sons from college and their friends walked in, and they about split a gut over Icky and her rear end. I will withhold the comments, but I guess she isn't as sexy to young 20-somethings.)
Laurita about broke my heart last night - dumb thing taking off with no supplies, but she did take Chico, who I think may prove her undoing. I keep waiting for a bark - or hey, the poor thing needs to be walked!

one thing, Laurita's daughter calls Danny in for a meeting ... you mean Laurita's teacher, right? and I was taken a bit aback since Laurita told the teacher that Vicky was going to marry her dad and she did not want him to marry Vicky because Vicky hated her, but the teacher said to Dano that Laurita said she did not like living with HIM (DANO)... what's up with that? Does the teacher have the hots for Dano and wants to confort him?
also, when Vicky stormed into the house she shouted threats to Fran and Jackie that she WAS going to marry Dano, that she WAS going to be the owner of that house (in your dreams, bimbutt!!) and that when that happened she was going to take over and things would change... (e.g. she would fire Fran and Jackie if they did not team with her)...
And regarding your comment, Jardinera, my husband (sixty-something but he does have an opinion still) said the same thing, that BimButt must have had a special order giant size cushion rear enhancing undergarments... and it made her look alien-like, not pretty at all.

IS it me or are Marcela and Renata lowering their guard as far as making sure Julio does sip down his medicine-loaded coffee? they now hear him tell them to just leave it there and they abide by his wishes... no more insisting in watching him gulp it down...
also, did everyone notice Renata did arrange the pink roses Eva brought after all, i guess Vicky would not have a tantrum if it was Renata arranging the roses even though she asked for white ones but if it were Eva I am sure she would have had a tantrum.

Sweeny thanks for the recap of our double dose of Eva. Nicely done. I thought it was really odd that Leo was so involved in helping Dan find Laurita. Although I guess before Eva they were BFF's.
The Vicky scene at the end was just plain crazy!! Did you notice how close Jacky and Dan were standing together as if they feared for their lives.

Sweeney: Thanks also for putting the episodio's number on there. Seriously, I was forgetting which one it was and so I didn't put it on. Now it will be easier to figure it out next time. Must be the aging/elderly factor closing in on me!

another thing to remember from last night for potential future connections... Adriancito now not only knows Francisco (Francisco could lose his cover if he gets to face Adriancito and Marisol together) but now he has seen pictures of younger Don Julio and Renata from the photos Dona Julia showed him. So I wonder if and how Adriancito would see the Arizmendis.

It took 120 minutes to get to a few seconds of a warm embrace (actually 2 warm embraces) and bimbobambutt we're back with V-icky in Dan's arms and him looking like she's a slithery kook alien from another movie. Thank goodness for previews. Tonight ought to be really good.

Claw's baby-daddy news should put a brake on Leo's clear path to Eva. Remember he told Dano that he came un-encumbered, while Dano had a novia and a child.
Call me an incurable romantic. I love Guy and Blanca together. The story has the right blend of tension, attraction and complications to keep me watching enraptured (well, maybe that's a little strong). I'm really liking the other characters better and better as they add tension and provide relief.

when you say leo has the card up his sleeve about the red car to separate Eva and Dano, well, that same card can be played by Claw to keep him with her since she is a witness of when he arrived to the yacht to tell them he had run into a 'tree'... I doubt Vicky would come forward to help Dano, but Claw might if Leo leaves her.
Thank you martaivett for catching that error of "Laurita's daughter"! Oops! LOL. I've fixed that. And thank you for filling in a few blanks, everyone.
Are we sure that Leo knows that he ran over Eva's dad? He saw that he'd run over some guy and there was a screaming girl, but was he close enough to see that it was Eva? I had always thought that he was clueless about that—he felt guilty that he'd killed the guy, but now he seems to have put it out of his mind. It would seem weird to me that he'd put himself in peril by playing around with the daughter of his victim like that.
Or was there some scene or episode that I missed, which had him acknowledge that he knows that Eva is the daughter of the guy he hit? Not sure anymore ...

I agree that Claw might get tired of playing second fiddle to a nutcase and remember she also knows about that nutcase putting acid into the other model's cold cream.
I don't think we'ver ever been told that Leo actually knows it was Eva's dad but I can't remember now if Eva told him the specifics about the way her daddy died. If so, then he would have put two and two together then and might be keeping the car as the ace up his sleeve.
Jar, Sweeny and Martaivett--About Leo knowing whom he ran over--it was either wishful thinking on my part or remembering incorrectly, probably the latter. At the scene of the accident, we only see someone (Leo) taking his shades off and looking in the rear-view mirror, then taking off while Eva is screaming.
If he knew her connection to the accident ahead of time, he probably wouldn't have made such a big deal to get her employed in the house.
