Llena de Amor #80 (Mex. 85) Fri 12/3/10 All my favorite actors!

Hi Gang! Well, I'm back to take a stab at this show. Last night was my very first viewing ever. I like it!! I just kept seeing favorite actor after favorite actor!!! Now you may have to forgive me here for a bit until I get used to these folks new names, but I know you all will help me out if I get it mixed up. I'm going to do this in stages over the weekend so feel free to check back for more later...

Always a good welcome back to TN land with two women bawling their eyes out and yelling at each other. Well we started off with gal i think is named Marinela whining like a baby to the maid because she talked to the wicked Fedra whom marinela thinks just killed her Tia Carlota...

Fedra the aforenamed evil woman is now chatting with recognizable Bernardo about the daughter that she hates - and how Emiliano wants to go off to look for her. Apparently this is Gretel, whom Carlos informed me is locked in a wine cellar somewhere. They dream about getting her inheritance and worry about her coming back to Mexico..she is in Europe? Oh our hunky Tontas foe is her son. Nice to see him again.

Now all the actresses that I thought were blondes are now red heads and these two young ladies chat about being top model for a commercial and not getting to see a boyfriend enough because of his work. One is really sad, so the other cheers her up. They are the mod squad. I know this because they speak English.

Ok, so the one they call Ilitia wants to buy off the secretary Adelina to take care of her "baby" for her, oh she'll pay whatever it takes.

Ah mi Cesar!! Here he is Daddy, and makes fun of his son coming back in the morning with his ho. The little maidlet, Delicia is not appreciative of the son's flattering of his girlfriend and drops her service tray. She seems a bit smitten...the girlfriend can tell she is in love with Axel.

Now Papa gets the call that Tia Carlota has passed on. He declares this is a horrible morning, even before he learns that!

Ok, now back to our hunky son who over heard the duo talking about money, what money he wants to know. He clearly is at odds with Bernardo, who believes that Fedra should not confide in her son, who is not the enemy here. Now mi Cesar Evora comes in to tell these folks about the death. Fedra exaggerates mourning, which clearly means that she already knew or didn't care.

So now, infact, we go to the cemetary, because dead bodies never hang around above ground for more than 40 minutes in the novelas and voila, she's all nice and buried, probably still warm even. I like how the grass is already green. Well, nevermind, Marinela will see to it that her death is properly avenged. Them's fightin' words if ever I heard 'em. I guess there is a plot...

So Fedra and co wonder how this could have happened. They discuss, and when son finds out Tia died yesterday, you can see the light bulb go off, as he figures out that someone, Marianela? must have been in Madrid and not Switzerland to have known about the wake?

Carlota's brother and and another of our favorite pudgy bald guys discuss the death, and how important it is to protect Marianela's inheritance even more now. He hopes that Carlota did not die with the secret, he needs to know if Gretel is his daughter.

So now the mod squad shows up at the house, Ilitia is supposed to marry "baby" but he says Carlota died, so they can't get married...she says no way, wedding must go on. Emiliano tells our other valley girl, who has just reprimanded her buddy for being so selfish, that she can't do her commercial either. Tables turn and now she is upset, she gets no party for boda, but a commercial? I'm torn...I say make them all suffer. Anyway, now on to some fun..

We go to the kitchen where our maidlet is clearly torn as well about learning Axel's last night details, yet not wanting to hear anything too upsetting. He suggests that Lorena has quite a body and in bed, whoa.....in true Emila and Mike style, he gets a wack over the head with a frying pan, and falls to the floor.

Ack, more discussion wedding and commercial yes? no...Carlota would like yes or no...

It was a ruse...Axel wakes up, grabs maidlet whom he "trapped" and I guess he picks up on her morbid fascination and decides she is ripe for some young boy flirtation...he wonders if she wants more with him...

Paula and Max are discussing the death, Paula holds no ill will towards his sis, it's his fault they never married. Besides, maybe now Gretel will return to Mexico. Whee!! Max yells at poor Benigno for who knows what and he leaves...

Ah we are back on the floor in the kitchen...Axel still trying to eat the Delicacy that is our maidlet...she is softening and hardening: no I don't like you, but I might like being next to you, but no take your hands off, and so forth until eventually Axel ends up all wet with a pot of stove water...take that young buck. Hmmrf...what's with the help these days... :)

OK, so clearly Fedra wants mod chica Ilitia to marry her son for some reason because she uses her power of a weak heart to feign extreme distress at any mention of boda suspending, so finally Emiliano says go ahead with the wedding so she doesn't get too upset and risk heart failure, but eh, no commercial, that can wait...Emanuel is not excited about this and really wants to wait...I wouldn't blame him, let that chic's hair grow out properly first...why are they so fascinated with these odd mutlilevel hair choppering styles? Over rated I think... Well it seems he feels he must protect his cousin Marianela, and for that matter he should go over there to Madrid and bring her back to her family where she belongs. Nobody else seems that concerned about her...is there cousin lovin' in this TN? Sheesh...

We are back with Marianela who is chatting with someone who tells her that Tia Carlota transferred all her money into another account just hours before she died, and she named an executor who is Juana Felipe Perez...ok this sounds like the female version of Juan Felipe, whom we know apparently has money for Marianela that Fedra and Co. want. Obviously something is a foot here. Marianela apparently knows who this is, and knows her to be the devil, not a woman. She wants to go back to her country tomorrow. We rejoin her learning there is no money for such a trip because all the money went to that Perez woman. Almudena shows up and gives her a folder and says no you are taken care of. She reads that there is money that exists in a trust in Switzerland, and she realizes this is the money that was saved for her in case anything happened to Carlota. Mari thanks her Tia in the air and swears she will pay her back somehow.

So now we go to a room of completely different folks, but wait it's our adorable what's his face, and he is apparently coming home drunk from a bar, and all the ladies in the house complete their duty of scolding him for his non-exemplar behavior, apparently he is a police officer afterall.

OK, so now just to shake it up some muddied up meth-head pops in with a gun and says this is an assault. How wonderfully bizarre...

Back to the whining about boda no boda, maybe Emanuel doesn't love you...ha no way... I'm marrying the day and hour of my invite or my name is no longer Ilitia Porta Lopez...great someone told me her full name!!

Back to the assault, loca woman screams for everyone to hand over their stuff, including our follied drunk dude. Whines all around.

Ok so Ma and Emanuel have a "heart to heart" he needs to marry the boba, no he thinks he needs to go to Europe to get his cousin and the money that belongs to him, he needs to go manipulate the fat one there, they don't have her money yet. Ma says don't worry about the money it's taken care of...uh oh, another light bulb...so that's the money you were talking about with Bernardo he says...she promises that everything will fall to their hand soon enough..don't ruin your wedding...he says still he should call Marianela and keep tabs on her fat fortune. She answers but once she realizes it's him, hangs up and won't reanswer, telling the maid not to answer, well ok answer, but say this...

Back at the crack head attack, finally mister drunk supposed police officer overtakes our junky and gets her down on the sofa...the gun is plastic...oh and so is the nose and the teeth...eh voila it's our Paula from Gancho!! Well, she calls herself Doris...

Almudena finally answers and they talk of the sadness of the death, she tells him that Mari went to live with her new hubby in Paris...Emanuel seems genuinely upset. Ma hangs up the phone for him telling him he was about to waste his time on the happily married fat chic...

Oh jeez back to the boda no boda again...enough I'll tell you when we make progress here...ok we finally did, Eman comes out saying with the loveliest of smiles on his face (not) that the boda will go forward..he'll marry the popis boba (plush fool).

So now we learn what's behind the attack, Hollywood, so the lady in the blue dress is Doris's Ma and she's just returned from LA where she's learned how to do all that. Yeah, I can believe LA might teach you how to become an assailant. :) They say she's learned well and is a top notch actress.

Well now we go to the real police station where Ilitia's mom is looking at a line up and is not sure if any of them are the one they are looking for because she never really saw the guy...the Liria de Plata must be caught...this must be some sort of Robin Hood, who steals but does good with the spoils - this plot I'm not sure I get yet....

2 Dias despues and it's wedding day...la boba looks ok, she is thanking her mami and papi, who appear to be divorced but still friends for everything they've done for her...ma asks if she's sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with hunkalicious...not the greatest of timing eh?

Appears the cop who wants to bust the Robin Hood, lusts after our shiny bride. The girl walks in and asks him if he is still pining for her...

Ok so now more new/old people...we are in jail and our orange skin buddy is there with some guy Garduno who is threatening Ilitia's pa with ruining her wedding if he doesn't come down to the clink and meet with him...the plots abound in this one...Fonseca gets congratulated for doing such a great criminal job. He likes Ilitia, but thinks it's ok if she marries as he has a wedding gift for her. Garduno is happy to be able to blackmail Lorenzo. Time up..must go back.

And so we end here until Mon. Thanks for bearing with me...

Love your observation on the dead & the lack of a wake, laugh outloud funny. cannot wait for the next segment!

Ditto what Maureen said, Kris. And I can't believe how well you've oriented yourself in this. If I were just stepping in, I'd be totally confused.

Great start, amiga, and I'm looking forward to the rest.

Great recap, very funny! Thanks!

This is your first episode ever and you were able to make that much sense out of it? Unbelievable.

"They are the mod squad...because they speak English." Brilliant.

By the way, Gretel has been locked in the wine cellar OF HER OWN HOUSE for the past two years. Fedra told everyone that Gretel is in a psych ward in Switzerland. (Fedra is Gretel's mother. We recently found out that she is adopted and her real parents are actually Tio Maximo and Paula the housekeeper. When Gretel was born Carlota whisked the baby away and told Max and Paula that the baby died; she gave the baby to Fedra who was trying to have another child. Fedra did not know Gretel belonged to Paula and Max. Emiliano [Cesar Evora] does not know the child is adopted. But recently [two years ago but basically just last week because we had a "two years later"] Carlota told Fedra the truth. Maximo also suspects the truth. Carlota also told the truth to Marianela.)Clear as mud?

Kris, I had to go to the hospital to check on a patient this morning and am just now catching up on your serialized recap. You certainly haven't lost that Kris Krunch in your style of writing. On one hand I wish I'd given you more details about the show, but on the other hand viewing the show from your perspective of fresh innocence is such a hoot. One of your descriptions nailed the entire show perfectly:

"How wonderfully bizarre..."

I wish I'd said that.

It looks like you've pretty well sorted out who's naughty and nice from your one viewing of this... amazing!

I'm waiting breathlessly for your last installment. It's so good to be recapping with you again.

Carlos

Kris, thank you so much for the recap. It was fun reading your recap and your fresh perspective of the characters and plot.

Rosemary

Carlos is right, it's fun to read your new perspective on this show. So I guess when Doris was in L.A. she learned how to do disguises too. I wonder if she will get a snazzy new job or go back to making up cadavers for burial?

And I hope blogger lets me post this comment instead of booting me out like it did a few minutes ago!!

Kris, great job and more funny stuff:

"Yeah, I can believe LA might teach you how to become an assailant."

That is Doris and her mom is Gladiola and all those folks live in that boarding house which must have limitless rooms and a perpetually open front door. Doris used to do makeup on dead people and has gone up half a notch to doing actors.

Ilitia' parents Muñeca and Lorenzo aren't divorced , but certainly should be.

Thanks again for joining us and for this delightful recap.

Carlos

It's a hoot reading about all this madness from the perspective of one who's just dropped in. Thanks so much, Kris.

A bit of clarification for you...I think Emanuel must have figured out that Fedra may have gone to Madrid and had something to do with Carlota's death (or at least CONVENIENTLY have been there just in time), rather than going to Switzerland to visit Gretel like she said. Fedra told him that she now has her hands on Carlota's money. However, there is still Marianela's inheritance from Luis Felipe, which is the huge jackpot Fedra really wants. Carlota could not have signed that over, could she? It was in trust for Mari. Emanuel has Fedra convinced that he wants to marry Mari just for the dinero.

Oh, also, Kris, yes there is cousin lovin', but they aren't really cousins.

Axel and Delicia are the cutest things. Okay, Axel, you've had your fun teasing Delicia about the delights of Lorena...now it's time to dump Lorena! Act now!

"Yeah, I can believe LA might teach you how to become an assailant."

Funniest line ever! (I'm a native Angelino.)

I ditto what everyone said about seeing this crazy novela through your fesh eyes. I think you'll have it all figured out soon enough. Thank you for coming on board as a recapper for us.

Julia- Total agreement about Axel, Lorena and Delicia. That was some pretty heavy duty flirting the two of them were doing in the kitchen. I laughed out loud at the frying pan upside of the head. It didn't seem to knock any sense into him though- it just made him hornier. Guess he's making up for lost time for all those years he was asexual.

No one seems to have hit on the most "beanie" thing of all. How did Marianela get so skinny in two years without the aid of plastic surgery? When she came out of the pool, there was no loose skin and no surgical scars. So, we're just supposed to believe that diet and exercise took care of not only the weight but the excess skin too? Get real! The writers in these TNs really push the line between reality and fantasy. In your dreams you can lose over 100 pounds without residual skin hanging from the arms, legs, buttocks, and abdomen. Reality is a much different package.

You could see on Emanuel's face that he really doesn't want to marry Ilitia but hearing that Marianela was married hit him hard. Don't know why he's upset that Marianela supposedly moved on to someone new as he did. Why is it okay for him to be marrying Ilitia, who caused his breakup with Marianela, but not okay for her to find someone else? Emanuel, grow up!!!!!!!

suppose that Axel is about as good mentally as he's gonna get. For a moment there, I thought he might suddenly recall his former life with all it's uncertainty and with his great disdain for his mom. Maybe even think that he might be gay again. Well, at least realize what a catastrophe that hair is and what a slutlet that Lorena is.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap Kris. I echo others sentiments on your amusing perspective as a newbie.

Yes Axel and Delicia are so cute. And he needs to dump the "slutlet" (Carlos your way with words) ahorita mismo!!

Monday looks like the classic boda no boda. I hope there are some fireworks with Mari revealing what Ilitia did.

Karen, I'm not holding my breath for a big reveal of Ilitia's perfidy. I wish it would happen but it will probably be one of those things that people are constantly about to say but it never gets said. However if Mari and Eman do mutually find out what happened I will be delightfully shocked. Fingers crossed.

Much fun Kris. Like everyone else I love your "I'm a stranger here myself" perspective.

You might say Muñeca and Lorenzo are "spiritually" divorced. Or really, have never been spiritually married. He's always had something on the side it seems.

Barbara M....yes, of course, in real life Marianela would have loose skin. A student of mine lost 100 pounds but couldn't wear the high cut leotards because her loose belly skin hung down. As she told me, Judy, it's like being pregnant for five years. The skin really gets stretched.

But these aren't reality tales, they're jazzed up sexy fairy tales and we're in it for the Spanish language. Anything else is crazy. (okay, we're also in it for the hunkalicious men and the fabulously sexy ladies...to whom it may concern)

Okay, can Axel and Delicia try to find a secret hidey-hole to have some privacy and think the wine cellar would be perfect? Could Emanuel decide he wants to fetch something special for a wedding toast and head down to the wine cellar? Could Max decide to take inventory of the house to get an accounting of Fedra's thefts from Mari, and go into the wine cellar? Could a water line break, and Benigno decide he needs to go in the wine cellar to check for flooding? Could Paula see Bernardo sneaking suspiciously to the wine cellar with food, and break in later to find out what's up?

SOMEONE SAVE GRETEL!

At the end of episode there was scene with Mari and Tia's attorney. I am sure it was about the will but I am not positive. There was some mention of "Swiss". Does anyone know what exactly this conversation was about?

Rosemary

The lawyer (Julio from Amar Sin Limites) said something about a Swiss account...I think they said Tia Carlota had put some money aside for Mari. Before the lawyer gave her those papers, she thought she didn't even have enough money to make the trip to Mexico (not sure why...isn't she getting paid for her publicist job? Can't imagine she's had many expenses living with Carlota).

I don't know if this money is the inheritance from Luis Felipe, or if Tia Carlota was thinking ahead and wanted Mari to have an account she could access immediately, in case it took some time to get the trust fund handed over or whatever (since Mari is not yet 21, the age at which she was supposed to get the money).

Julia, thank you for the clarification.

Rosemary

Kris, it is SO good to see you back! Thanks for joining us and thanks for this great recap—like JudyB, I cannot imagine how you are getting up to speed so fast when we’re so far into it. You put in lots of belly-laugh lines! It really is so refreshing to have you not totally up to speed, actually, since it creates all kinds of extra snarking for us to enjoy.

“One is really sad, so the other cheers her up. They are the mod squad. I know this because they speak English.” ROTFL! Puts me in mind of all the folks this side of the border who use “ciao” and “amigo” liberally (and a few other words, which are sometimes better left unsaid).

“The little maidlet, Delicia” LOL! That’s her, all right. Best description of Delicia ever!

“dead bodies never hang around above ground for more than 40 minutes in the novelas and voila, she's all nice and buried, probably still warm even. I like how the grass is already green.” LOL! It was the warm air rising, right?

“Axel still trying to eat the Delicacy that is our maidlet.” Oh, ROTFL!

“so the lady in the blue dress is Doris's Ma and she's just returned from LA where she's learned how to do all that. Yeah, I can believe LA might teach you how to become an assailant. :)” ROTFLLLL!! And here we thought she was going to make-up school.

The Swiss account is one Luis Felipe (Mari's papi) set up in a trust (fideicomiso) for her before he died. He made sure Carlota had it and not Emiliano. Maybe he had some premonition that he'd better hide something just in case. Carlota showed Mari the papers right when she arrived in Spain "in case something happens to me." Almudena remembered it -- probably Carlota mentioned it to her more than once. Just a guess, though.

Thanks again Kris. I'm thrilled you are on our recapping team. Hooray!

Schoolmarm, I know what you mean. Dratted blogger!

See?!?!? !@&#*#!!!

Welcome to the madness, Kris. This show is NUTS but I love it. I must say, there is not a lot of stalling and stagnation here like on a lot of shows...something is ALWAYS happening and there are lots of side plots going on at once.

Kris, loved your recap. Welcome back! You always make things so fresh, i.e. "why are they so fascinated with these odd mutlilevel hair choppering styles". Add my kudos for your hitting all the high notes despite seeing this for the first time.

Loved your asides about the actors and of course, bringing back fond Emilia/Mike skillet memories from Gancho days gone by...

Marianela is decidedly angry and I have no doubt she will effectively stop the impending nuptuals.

I can't get back to hoping love triumps until Gretel gets sprung from her prison...

Diana

Julia, I've been wanting to comment all day on your listing of the various ways that Gretel could be discovered and freed. Isn't it strange that neither Nereida nor Delicia have been asked to clean up the wine cellar? Whose responsibility was it before? I especially like the idea of Dee and Axel looking for a quiet place to explore their urges. Who is cooking for Gretel, anyway?

A pox on Emiliano for essentially abandoning his daughter. Does he really believe that he is not allowed to visit... much less agree to it?

If Max even suspects that Gretel is his daughter, why isn't he moving heaven and earth to find out where she is and what is going on with her?

FREE GRETEL!

FIX AXEL'S HAIR!

Carlos

Poor Gretel had better get the most awesome happily-ever-after imaginable and then some, after what she's been through. It's so far beyond cruel. They didn't even give her any books (this would be my own particular hell, to have nothing to read). I doubt Spidey has been too concerned about her culinary preferences, either. Probably he just grabs whatever he thinks no one will notice is missing from the kitchen, so Gretel probably isn't eating the balanced hot meals the rest of the family gets.

I'm totally disappointed in the General. With all his security cameras and monitors, he hasn't picked up on the fact that Gretel was brought back to the house and never left? He hasn't noticed the trips to the cellar with food? Get your head in the battle, Max!

This is just unimaginable that there is a girl living in a wine cellar..even funnier that I haven't seen who she is yet...again wonderfully bizarre...Carlos I rather like that I went into this fairly uneducated...trying to figure out what is going on is actually a draw for me...if it were all explained I might be bored... :)

so, er.. ah..

FREE GRETEL!!??!

or at least let me see who she is :)
