Llena de Amor #98 (Mex. 103) Thu 12/30/10 Talk, don't sneer; act, don't fear; wear camo, and hear.

Feliz Cumpleaños a JudyB!!!

Last night we left Ilitia and Eman fuming at MariVicky’s rebuff, but Eman’s got a bigger problem than his damaged ego. Ilitia declares war on MariVicky and I’m thinking Eman will soon feel like he’s trapped in a sack with two feuding felines.

Speaking of rebuffs, Axel goes to the jail to apologize to Delicia and he strikes out again. He swears to get her out of jail but he’s too late because our Delicious has already been released. She scampers off as Brandon advises Axel to comb his hair. Just kidding! He advises Axel to chill out.

Uh huh! MariVicky can’t stop thinking about Eman’s big blubbery kiss when suddenly she is interrupted by… the unshaven one himself. I don’t mean to sound cranky but is he becoming a stalker or what? He tries to apologize for the kiss (that it happened, not the technique) and she tells him he’s much worse than Mari ever said. He’s a liar, a manipulator and ambitious. He tried to steal Mari’s inheritance so that makes him a thief!

Speaking of thieves (Don’t you just love these TN segues? I sure do.) Lowman thanks Malicio for helping to find his son. They are friends again, brothers in fact. Lowman has another favor to ask. He needs help finding another person, he wants to find the jerk-off who violated his daughter on her wedding day so he can kill him with his own hands. Malicio breaks into a sweat and starts exercising his neck in anticipation.

Muñeca is playing hide and seek with Manzanita and Christian; the playful music suddenly turns sinister signifying that something foul is afoot. Christian is missing. Fidel shows up to help and I feel better already. Do I perhaps have a tiny crush on our dapper chauffeur? The cutest part of this scene – Muñeca and Manzanita do an ‘uno dos tres’ and yell for Christian in unison.

More nose-to-nose arguing between Eman and MV. Andres interrupts them to say the photo shoot is ready, Mari smirks and Eman announces Ilitia is the model and Vicky had better behave herself. At least this time she gives him an uber-smirk instead of the dead fish stare.

Over at the pension Oliver tells the ladies that he’s trying to get Gman to stay but the poor stubborn fool is packing his bags. Gladiola advises that Gman is rather, um, unrestrained with Oli and his unbridled passions will eventually explode, right Consuelo? (Insert stink eye.) Oliver tells the ladies to be careful and not compare apples and oranges! He only wants to watch out for the poor little dude’s back. Gman rapidly skulks downstairs but is stopped by Oli and the dames. Nety insists s/he stay and is rewarded by the signature Gman clinch.

Fedra thanks Bernardo for taking care of Max but now they need to attend to Gretel. She’s sure that Benigno is somehow involved so she summons him and tells him to fess up or he’s a dead man.

MariVicky whines to Andres about Eman hiring his wife. Andres sets her straight, Ilitia is an international model in her own right. He tells her to cut the guy some slack because he’s had a tough couple of years. He lost his true love Lna Gorda and he was crazy for her. Andres assures her that he knows his best friend and he was in love with his Gordita Hermosa, period. MV likes the sound of that.

Brandon, the only cop in town, is at Muñeca’s investigating Christian’s disappearance. Lowrenzo shows up, hears that the kid is missing, and totally freaks out. True to form he blames “stupid” Muñeca. Punch him Fidel!! Muñeca is the only one with a plan and advises Lowman she will go to his office to make a public plea. Fidel glares at him and is rewarded with a “what are you looking at, idiot?”

Lowman’s phone rings and it’s Garduño with the threat du jour. Gardo wasn’t happy about Lowman’s friendship with Malicio but at least it led him to the kid. Now Lowman has twelve hours to pay back all the money that his “pal” Mauricio owes Gardo if Lowman wants to see his spawn again.

Oh how sweet, Bernardo is giving Benigno a neck massage. Not! It’s some sort of pseudo-strangle-threat designed to make him confess. He swears he’s innocent as Spidey starts pulling out his cornucopia of weapons trying to decide which one he’ll use. (This reminds me of a scene from some movie, what is it?) The guns and knives pile up on the table and Fedra announces that THIS is the one; I think it’s the knife she found way back when. Benigno throws some green fluffy algae thing at Fedra which allows him to make his escape. I’m confused, this was supposed to scare them?

So we get some Keystone cop chase scene through the house, outside the house, around the house, hiding in the house. The best part is watching Fedra try to run in her super high heels, really makes her butt look big. Luckily Benigno gets away and Fedra is sidetracked by a frantic Lowrenzo who pleads, “Please, you have to loan me three million dollars!” Just another day with the filthy rich.

Let’s move on to another stupid commercial at the studio. This time it’s Ilitia making love to a shampoo bottle and so far it’s the best commercial they’ve done in my opinion. Oh hell, the rapey snake just showed up to clap for his favorite victim. She looks like a whipped puppy and cowers in the protective embrace of Eman.

Fedra suggests to Lowman that he get the money from his rich wife but the dude is seriously desperate. He begs, he wheedles, he whines, he gets on his knees, for the sake of their relationship pretty pleeeeeeeze? She guffaws and lays it out for him…not one centavo will she pay for having him in her bed, and when she wants him around she’ll call him, now beat it!

Lowman stares out the window and swears Fedra will regret this. He’s going to hurt her where it hurts the most. He spies Kristel sunning herself and approaches her like a lion stalking his prey. Wow she looks lovelier than ever, even prettier than her mother. She’s perfect, just perfect for his new campaign. She’s ready to sign! “I’m perfect,” she sighs happily, a little crazily. She’s doomed.

Ilitia begs Eman to get rid of Mauricio and Eman, for all his density, just does it. Thank goodness cuz Orangey is the creepiest ever.

Muñeca and Brandon rush in and announce that Christian is missing and they’re about to issue their version of an Amber Alert.

MariVicky is in her office obsessing over the memory of a distraught Eman who misses his Gordita Hermosa, the love of his life. She recalls the orphaned kiddies doting on him and Delicia singing his praises. More man tears and she sighs Dios Mio did our love die because of me? We’ve got to talk!

Eman’s studio is prepping for Muñeca’s announcement and Ilitia can’t help but needle Brandon for once again showing up with her mother. Brandon accuses her yet again of being jealous. She deliberately kisses Eman to annoy Brandon and bonus! MariVicky shows up and she’s annoyed too.

Delicia is free, her little bag is packed, and Nereida throws D’s final check at her. Paula’s worried, where will Delicia go? It’s hard to find work. Axel enters and begs her not to leave but it’s too little to late for the delicious one. She tells him to sing his songs to some other sucker, she’s outta here.

Helloooo, its commercial time and everyone is waiting for Eman and Ilitia to stop making out. Is this weird or what? Muñeca’s waiting. Brandon’s waiting. Doris is waiting. MariVicky faints, which is one way to break up the smooch fest and piss of the wifey. Muñeca’s not happy either, she just wants to record the commercial!

Lowman shows up at the office all in a dither about Christian and tells the folks to let Muñeca know he’s in his office. Moments later Kristel scuttles in. She’s looking for her big break and the office staff is just looking down their noses. Money sure can’t buy respect.

MariVicky comes out of her faint and she and Ilitia bitch at each other. Right now I’m thinking they are both totally useless.

Lowman pumps up Kristel the until she is ready to kiss him (on the cheek), he’s like a father! Who should walk in to witness these fatherly kisses but Orangey and he ain’t happy. Kristel’s on cloud nine because she’s going to “top model" the biggest brand of intimate apparel, w00t! And out she flits like a delirious mariposa.

Orangey tells Lowman to keep his hands of his little caramel candy, aren’t they friends? Lowman retorts that thanks to Agent O the traitor he’s lost his son. This is where I get a little confused. I think Lowman announces to Agent O that he’s no longer associated with the company’s campaign? Bad news for Orangey because he owes money to Garduno ever since his stolen merchandise was stolen by el Lirio de Plata.

Emiliano tells Eman that Lorenzo recommends Mau be off the campaign due to dirty dealings. Eman is thrilled, Mau not so much. Mau begs his dad in law (suegro) to cut him a break but Emiliano advises Mau that his relationship with the agency and his daughter is on shaky ground.

Fedra and Spidey are drinking (again) because Benigno escaped. They highlight their recent successes (Max, the inheritance) and downplay their recent failures (Benigno, Gretel). These two are a scream. He: You’re marvelous, brilliant! She: Shut up.

They recap their nefarious escapades and discuss what Fedra will do with the money. Vacation in Cancun? As they snicker, someone disguised in camo is hiding behind a flower arrangement listening to their every word.

Orangey thinks Garduño should forgive his debt but Gardo says all Orangey has done has bought himself two weeks. Pay up or die. Kristel breaks his revery so Orangey whines to her to convince daddy to bring him back into the fold. She says easy, ask for her hand! He says no way, marriage kills love, got it? She says then I’m not talking to daddy, got it? He becomes mean, he’ll never marry her, her lip quivers.

Muñeca makes her commercial pleading for Christian’s return. Doris comments to Brandon isn’t it strange that the kid’s name is Christian just like Begoña’s kid? Brandon thinks it’s even weirder that they haven’t heard from her in two years, kind of like Marianela.

Eman tells MariVicky she can’t go with Brandon and Doris, she has to stay at the studio and complete the details of Muñeca’s ad, duh. They argue. Again. Ilitia is satisfied because MV hates Eman.

MV gripes so much about Eman that Brandon is supicious. Why is Eman so important to her and why did his kiss with Ilitia bother her so much? Is she in love with him? Oh wait, that was our finale…”ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH HIM?”

Aguas, aguas! = Be careful! (From the days when people threw their, ahem, dirty water out their upper windows, they would yell “Aguas” to warn the people below.)
Desbocado = unbridled, rampant, unrestrained
Engendro = spawn, monster
No confundas la gimnasia con la magnesia = Don’t confuse apples with oranges
¿Qué me ves idiota? = What are you looking at, idiot?

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO A TODOS!!!

Hysterical episode last night and Sylvia, you added to the fun, big time!

I have to admit, I just loved all the Fedra/Bernardo scenes last night. The keystone cope run around the house was priceless and the scene with the brandy glass, what subtle timing. Gotta hand it to those two.

Ok, now I'm concerned....where IS Delicia going? I was hoping she would be on the inside, but I think she's smart to know she can't be around Bernardo. Will she land at Netty's everyone always does - she's going to need a new wing).

And now Mari/Vicky is going to go from hating Eman thinking he wanted to kill her, to be so insanely jealous that she's taking it out on him anyway. I had such hopes as she began to realize just maybe she was wrong - duh!

The one part of the show that bugged the daylights out of me was the hide-and-seek scene. I'm really sorry, but there is no way you play hide and seek with a TWO YEAR OLD unless you are maybe in the house. Fleet of foot and having no senseof danger yet, he could have just wandered off on his own, let alone go with a total stranger with no fuss. Plot device I know, but a stupid one because it made Muneca look like she really wasn't thinking.

A very HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!

Good morning daisy, ITA about Fedra and Bernardo. They are completely loathesome but I love their scenes. I couldn't tell who was hiding behind the flowers, was it Benigno or el Lirio?

You are so right about playing hide and seek with a 2-year old outside! I was thinking they might be in some sort of enclosed yard but if that's the case there sure is a lot of going in and out and anyway, a 2-year old would easily find any little hole from which to escape. The picture of Christian was adorable. He's much cuter without his trademark scowl.

I just assumed Delicia would end up at Netty's. Doesn't everybody? Then she could also be in on Gman's secret identity which would be fun.

Good morning Sylvia Happy New Year and thanks for this rollicking recap. What fun. You uttered my favorite line early on:

"She scampers off as Brandon advises Axel to comb his hair."

Would that someone would.

I watched Wed.'s episode right before this came on last night and was disturbed by the game of Hide'n'Seek. The thing that troubled me most was that pond. When they didn't find him yesterday, my first thought was, "Surely they won't off that cute but rambunctious little tyke... will they?" Heck maybe a message to future child actors, "Act out instead of act and this could happen to your character." Oh well, at least he's in the hands of Garduño's competent goons... remember what a good job they did the last time they had him?

FREE CRISTIAN!

Fedra proved last night why she is one of my favorite actresses. I cracked up when she shuffled by in the too-tight pants and too-high heels then hobbled back by having lost one of the shoes. What a tarted tawdry treasure she is.

Bernardo emptying his pockets reminded me of an old SNL skit done shortly after metal scanners were introduced in air terminals. That sort of thing never fails to make me laugh.

Loved Super-Mau's reaction to Lorenzo's next task for him. I half expected him to sweat carrot juice.
And I guess he's going to need a sign that proclaims:

"I AM ILITIA'S RAPIST"

before Manny snaps to. Put Dee on the case.

Thumbs up for O&M... far and away my favorite pair.

While watching Wed.'s episode, I noticed that Delicia used a verb that I don't recall seeing before:

Zampar

which among other things means to gobble up. Definitely useful and usable. She was referring what Mari did with the chocolates as quickly as she received them.

Happy New Year to all!

Carlos

Hola Sylvia and Daisynjay. Missed parts of last night's episode, but did see the crazy chase scene with Benigno and appreciate more and more the comic flair of the actress playing Fedra.

Still...this show is such a strange mis of nefarious dealings and broad humor. Oh well. Guess Shakespeare did the same. NOT that I'm comparing the two in quality, mind you.

Loved your images Sylvia. "trapped in a sack with two feuding felines", ""insert stink eye", "threat du jour" and "out she flits like a delirious mariposa". The actress playing Kristel is also doing a great job on a rather thankless part. She way she cycles in and out of extreme confidence and then whimpering submission to Mauricio is interesting to watch. And she plays it well.

As I said, I was very distracted last night but thought it was a frog Benigno threw at Fedra. But then...how would he have a frog handy? Oh well. Best to not spend too much time pondering these things.

Buckeyes are playing their first Big 10 game tonight at Indiana. Enjoyed watching UConn women fall to Stanford last night. Go San Francisco with Troy Smith at quarterback!

Sylvia, Thanks for the great recap.
That chase scene was pretty funny.

Sylvia, That was Bennie hiding in the plant under the table. So he heard the whole discussion Fed and Bernie had...cool.

Carlos - "sweat carrot juice". perfection!

Thanks, I have such a crappy TV I honestly couldn't tell.

Oh Carlos, you're such a card! I love your alliterative description of Fedra.

Say, I think it's time to weigh in on a point of controversy. Nooooo...not Axel's hair. We all agree it's a disaster.

But I've heard some critiques of Eman's unshaven look and also his kisses. Frankly, I thought those recent stolen kisses with Mari/Vicki didn't look sloppy at all. Just delightfully thorough. And the unshaven look? Likin' it too. Very manly. And since he seems to be operating in a heightened testosterone storm these days...very appropriate.

And speaking of testosterone...my son set the TV to record Verdad Oculta last night. Yañez may be a churl in real life but in telenovelas, fantastic eye candy. Can't complain.

Judy B, I agree with your assesment about the lovely Eman. Although I normally hate a man with a beard, it is not so bad on him; it also suits him for his alter ego of lira de plata. & I could watch that boy kiss all day long( or even better be the girl he kisses).
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011!

JudyB, you and I are on the same wavelength. I adore Valentino Lanus with the beard and his kissing Marianela was hot and sexy. The dude knows how to kiss as does Eduardo Yanez. He looked especially hot in his bathing suit on LVO. Don't know what either man is like in real life, but in TN's, they are hotter than a roman candle getting ready to shoot off.

As to Fedra, well Carlos, you know I can't stand that character. She and Bernardo and Mauricio need to come to really bad ends - I mean really bad, bad ends. The great thing about recording these shows is I can fast-forward through the Fedra scenes and just read about them in the recap. Somebody needs to slap her into the next century. She's the epitome of evilness and skullduggery.

Judy, I must vote no. I like some beards but this look is (to me)... well... unkempt and lazy. Either shave... or don't. I was especially dismayed that he showed up to his wedding this way.

As for the kissing, Maggie said it best:

"...kissing is more fun to do than to watch sometimes."

Of course there are exceptions, but not for Manny... not yet.

Now his dad (Emiliano) and Netty could teach him a thing or two. Pay attention, son.

Carlos

Hi everyone. I don't have anything against beards per se but Valentino Lanus has such an incredibly gorgeous face I think it's a shame to cover any of it at all. I don't like his scruffy look so I'm giving thumbs down on it. I'm with Carlos in that son might learn a few things from father in the kissing department. HOWEVER, were I on the receiving end of such an enthusiastic osculation I might, just might reconsider.

Yeeehah...well, glad I stirred up some discussion anyway.

Team A: Maureen, Barbara M., JudyB

Team B: Carlos, Maggie.... and Sylvia giving points to both sides.

Way to go moderator!

Yes, the scruffy beard hides his pretty face. But it also says Me hombre, you mujer. C'meeere. Works for me.

Judy, thank you for the out loud guffaw. I always knew your halo was held up by a couple of cute little horns!

What are y'all doing tonight to ring in the new year? Tom and I have decided to be homebodies tonight. I can't remember ever just staying home;it sounds glorious to me. I've got a bottle of good California sparkling wine on the rack and I think I'll put it in to chill for midnight. Either that or I'll pull out the bottle of Mezcal I got in Guanajuato last year and toast a Prospero Año Nuevo.

So happy I had to say it twice.

Hi Sylvia. Glad to know you're staying in. Bob and I almost never go out. I remember one dreadful New Year's Eve when we lived outside of Philadelphia. My cousin and husband were visiting and didn't want to stay in with her mom so we made reservations at some posh restaurant. It was miserably crowded. Four of us were squeezed into an impossibly small table near the kitchen. Service and food were dreadful. Traffic (always terrible on the Main Line) was even worse. Ugh.

Our first year of marriage we were in London and after some long-distance hectoring by friends and relatives, we dutifully trotted out to Trafalgar Square to ring in the New Year with the Londoners. Honestly...it was not that thrilling. Nor was coming home on the Underground afterwards.

Watched football and basketball last night and read the new Nora Ephron book about not remembering (and yes, right now I don't remember the exact name of the book). But Nora and I must be about the same age and we went through many of the same experiences....hers were just at a much higher level celebrity-wise and salary-wise. So Nora...call me, girlfriend! We need to catch up.

Awsome recap. I think the actress who plays Kristel is great. Hard to play evil and dumb. I don't mind Axel's hair but Eman tends to look like he is wearing a hair hat. He needs to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair and not form it into a mat on his head.M

I was wondering WHAT was going with Eman's hair too. It's so weird how it wraps around his head like that. But I see photos of the actor and it seems like his hair is often like that! Very odd.

Audrey

Way back when we were watching Tontas we got into a big discussion about VL's hair. Someone thought it might be a toupee, another theory is that he uses too much conditioner. We were joking around then, it's funny how the subject came up again.

Part of the problem with everyone's hair in these TN's is they use too much product. For example, EY looks so much sexier when they let his hair go to its natural state as opposed to slicked back. It may be with VL that the makeup artists don't know how to work with curly hair. He has the kind of hair that makes a woman want to run her fingers through it. I've seen Brandon in later episodes, which I won't divulge what happens, and his hair looks much better, more natural. Unfortunately brillo-head, ie Axel, doesn't seem to improve.

Well at first I thought VL must have a toupee too or some bizarre combover, but then I looked at several internet pictures and decided that, no, he just has super thick hair. But I still don't get the "swept around the head" style. A lot of his internet photos have less strange looking styles although they all are kind of unique.

Audrey

This will probably be deleted as "gossip", but here goes:

I read somewhere that Lanus has thinning hair and has to wear a hairpiece.

No me importa. I still think he's cute!

I went back to check on Eman's hair, I guess I've gotten accustomed to it, to see what you are talking about. It's actually a lot like Manolo's wig. Thanks guys, now I'm going to be watching his hair.

In going back, I re-watched the chase scene... that really was very funny. Not only did Fedra lose a shoe and hobble for a bit carrying the lost shoe, on a turn through the kitchen, she stopped long enough to grab a piece of fruit. Also, Cristal was sunning by the pool and never even looked up as they ran past her several times.

Sylvia, you've mentioned a number of times how much you enjoy dancing. If you have the opportunity, watch an episode of India. There is dancing on almost every episode, both in Brazil and India.

Carlos

Slyvia, this has to be one of your best ever. I was laughing all the way through, but the line that had me guffawing was when you said Benigno threw “some green fluffy algae thing” at Fedra. What the heck was that, anyway? I replayed it a few times and it just looked like some moss or something. Loved “threat du jour” too, and much much more. Great vocab, too!

JudyB – I didn’t think Eman was a bad kisser, just that that kind of kissing is kinda gross to see on screen. I like the more reserved telenovela kisses, and get a laugh out of how the actors have to position their heads so we can see the lip action. I think they keep the kissing not so slobbery just for aesthetics.

As for Eman’s beard wannabe – my husband has a full beard and I love it. But when you can see the skin through it, it looks wormy and ratty, and the thought of kissing somebody with stubble gives me a rash even though it’s not me. Owie!

BarbaraM – Fedra is plenty evil, all right, but the actress is a riot. To me, she’s one of the best things about the show.

Anon 3:20 – We haven’t really talked about the Kristel actress before, and I’m glad you gave her a thumbs-up. I agree that she’s just terrific and I love the little choking voice she does.

I'm several episodes ahead now because I can't stop watching! I watched Episode 106 last night, and I don't think I stopped laughing! It was hilarious! The comedic timing on this TN is really amazing. Yes it is so silly and campy but the actors are doing such a great job it flows so well. Nothing is forced. You think you've seen the funniest thing yet, but it keeps coming right at you!

Audrey

So, I've been reading these novela recaps since ENDA and this is my first post. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the recappers, I am no longer seeing red when there's a DVR malfunction. Between recappers and comments, I always seem to know what's going on. This year, I've vowed to actually participate in this little online community, thanks for all you do!
