Eva Luna #51 Mon 1/17/11 Icktoria To The Rescue!

Cap. #50

Have your barf bags ready.  This episodio is going to be a hard one to stomach!

We pick up as Alicia calls Leonardo on his cell to make a date to meet him about something she needs to discuss.  Unbenkownst to Ali, her absconded sister is sitting right next to him on the couch at the house in the hills listening to Leo's half of the conversation.   Ali says she wouldn't bother him but it's extremely important and she thinks he might be able to help.  Leo agrees to meet Ali but, of course, tells Eva only that he's got a business deal to take care of and that he'll use the time away to take care of things that are waiting for him to get done.  She says fine and agrees to stay off the phone and to stay inside.

At the same time, Victoria has come over to Daniel's and gone up to his bedroom to "help" him in his time of need.  She gets his things ready so he can get cleaned up and says it should make him feel better.  He says he doubts anything could make him feel better.  He is so embarrassed, he says, to have her fussing after him this way.  No, no.  Icktoria's happy to see to his needs.  He goes in to take a shower.  Icky says she'll start picking up the mess in his room.  (What?  This gal actually knows how to do menial labor?  I wouldn't trust her to fold socks! ¡Qué desastre!)  While Dan's in the shower, Vicki looks around and spies the torn airline ticket.  She thinks to herself that he was going on a trip with the "poor little thief" (the only thing Eva took was Dan, and that was fair and square), but as things turned out like they should have all along, he won't be.  "--You think she's a thief and you two are finito.  My mother's plans turned out to be a terrific success."   Just then Laurita enters the bedroom to check on her father and finds her worst nightmare standing in front of her looking like the Cheshire Cat ready to pounce on an unsuspecting canary.

At the Arizmendi manse, Renata opens the door for Don Julio's attorney, Licensiado Basañez.  She asks if he's there for Marcela because she's not home yet.  He explains he's there for Don J.  Renata tries to tell him Don Julio won't see him because he's had another attack and is recuperating.  Lic. Basañez tells her he just called a bit ago.  They have an appointment.  "Go and tell him I'm here, Renata."  (This man doesn't mess around.) Ren hasn't got a choice and does.

Laurita demands to know what Icky's doing there in her father's bedroom.  Icky tells her to change her tone and get with the program [ubicarse= settle in] since from now on she's going to be seeing her regulary.   Laurita calls her a liar cuz her father doesn't want her.  Icky says well, you think so because you want Eva, right?  "--Yes! and don't you mess with her!"  Icky tells her not to confuse things: Eva messed with her.  She saw her boyfriend and wanted to steal him away from her.   Laurita corrects her.  He left Icky because he didn't love her!  Icky gets snitty and tells her she doesn't understand these sorts of things so let her explain something!  Laurita tells her she doesn't want her explanations and to leave "her" house right now!  Vicky mixes a cup of condescension with a pinch of sarcasm and continues.  (Listening to this you start to wonder who's the kid here and who's the adult!)  "--What a shame I can't please you.  You'd better get used to see me around because starting today I'm going to be here every day."  "--It can't be true!"  '--Well, it is, because Eva tricked you and your daddy and you know why?  She stole all the money she could and then scrammed.  Now your father is going to go back with me quicker than you can imagine!"

Back at D. Julio's, he and the lawyer are working on a document.  Lic. B asks if he's sure Julio wants it this way.  He says absolutely and he wants him to get it done right away.  He's to tell absolutely no one about it, much less Marcela.   The lawyer says he knows he can trust him entirely.  Just make sure you really understand what you're asking me to do.  Julio is, he says.  The lawyer asks about his latest attack.  Julio admits he knows he's deteriorating physically but mentally he's clear as a bell.  Julio tells him that when the papers are done and ready to sign not to bring them personally, just let him know.  He'll send for them.  (That doesn't sound very smart considering.)

Meanwhile, Leo is at the park waiting for Ali to arrive.  He tells himself this is a double-play for him.  Not only does he have the lovely Eva in his bed at the cabin, but he'll now have Ali in his bed, too.  He says he's feeling so lucky that he's going to gamble at the casino that night for a little diversion.  Just then, Ali walks up and starts to explain her problem.  It's that she's got a huge problem with her sister and needs to get a job ASAP.  Leo asks what she's prepared to do.   Ali may be slow, but the meaning isn't lost on her this time.

At the same time, Manipulative Marcy arrives home and asks Ren what Julio wanted with their lawyer.  Ren explains she tried to find out but couldn't because when she brought in their coffee, they refused to say a word till she left.  Ren then mentions that Eva called and spoke with D.J.  Marcy explodes and asks how she could let her do that?  Ren says she tried to stop it but D. Julio found out and took the phone from her--nearly grabbed it out her hand, even.  Marcy says all right, then tell her as soon as the lawyer gets ready to leave.  Marcy can't imagine why their lawyer would be there.

Julio is laughing to himself and looking at the bottle of medicine.  He tells himself Marcela won't win this duel, he will.  Mad Marcy barges into his office at that point demanding to speak to him.  Julio doesn't want to talk to her but she steam rolls along anyway.

Back in the park, Ali says she could learn anything.  Leo has visions of her dressing like a French maid and attending to his "personal" needs.  He offers her the job as a servant in his house since they need a replacement.   Ali, thankfully, tells him she'd rather starve than work as a servant.  She says if he has contacts in movies or television she could do their makeup.  He says well, he just opened a modeling agency who could use her.  He is one of the owners and will get her an interview.  She's elated.  He tells her he wants her to make the grade. Why?  Because he wants her close to him everyday.  Ali is suck-it-in impactadissima from Playboy Numero Uno's romantic revelation.

Back in Julio's office, Marcy screams about the phonecall he took from Eva.  Julio says yeah, but I don't owe you any explanation about my phone calls!  So if you're finished, GET. OUT.  --Nobody but NObody orders an incensed Marcela around!  She screams at the top of her lungs about how he's also been taken in by this thief.  "--She robbed us and you are committing the same mistake and defending her!!!  It's incredible the way you let yourself be manipulated by her!!!!! Don't be such an idiot!!!!!"  Julio yells back that the only person who's manipulated him all his life was her, she's his cross to bear.  Marcy hisses dangerously that he'll be sorry for saying that! No, he says,  she is the only person who is going to be sorry!  She isn't finished and starts in next about why the attorney came.   He coolly tells her with a twinkle in his eye that she'll know in due time.  She replies tersely that she won't be signing any divorce papers.  She'd rather be widowed first.  He laughs.  "--There's no doubting that, is there?"  She chucks him on the chin and tells him to double his dosage.  She doesn't want to cry ahead of the burial.  She leaves.  He wipes her touch from him face and angrily thinks to himself that she will cry--and a lot!

It's now dinner time at Dano's. Icky-Vicky is there at the table while he eats.  She tells him she knows he's going through a bad time.  She's getting a large charge out of being a sympathetic philosophical whiz and is playing it to the hilt.  "--Life has many unexpected turns.  This is life giving you another chance to learn from your mistakes and mend your ways."  (Wow.  Such  metaphysical depth.  NOT.)  She lays it on thick that despite him thinking she might be happy about what happened, she actually hurts for him. (Gag alert!)  All she wants is to see him happy again.  Dan can't believe how kind she's being to him after all that has happened.  She tells him that's in the past now.  She understands that all men are suckers for an innocent and pretty face (Eva's) and that it always gets them into horrible jams.  She says she's there for him, though and the world could be crumbling around them but they have each other and he knows now that he can count on her for anything!

At the cabin later that evening, Eva hears a noise like something falling in the living room.  She goes out to check if Leo's gotten back.  She sees the lamp is on the floor, thinks it must have been the wind, and picks starts to put it upright.  Just then she's grabbed from behind by... Tony.  He covers her mouth to keep her from screaming and menacingly tells her he's there to collect what she owes him.  Eva breaks away from him and wants to know how he found out where she was staying.  He tells her he knows everything, an army of police were at the house and he knows she took off with $25,000 she stole from her boyfriend, Daniel.   She insists it's not true!  '--Well, there was a whole squadron of police that say otherwise at Justa's place. Ahh!  Yes, I know.  That's what Alicia swore to and perjured herself over."  He goes into how sad and tearful Ali was and makes a big deal about how he was there to "console" her.  This angers Eva and she warns him to steer clear of her sister.  "--No worry."  He leers at her then.  Eva's the one he's interested now.

Back at Dano's dining-room table, Icky is telling Dano how we all make mistakes.  Nobody is perfect.  Of course, Dano says he thought Eva was and he let himself be fooled by it all.  Vicky says they all were fooled, but thank gawd they found out in time.  He says then that she doesn't have to stick around on his account, but she insists she won't leave his side till he's safely tucked in his bed.

At the cabaña again, Eva loses patience and asks what Tony's there for.  He tells her to cut the good girl crap and yells that he knows that she's a stinking thief and worse than him.  He starts with the old fake charm again and says, "--Let's suppose you didn't take the money.  Then why did you run away, huh?  By the way, you are pretty slick.  This place is a heck of a lot nicer than Doña Justa's place."  Eva yells at him to get out and leave her in peace.  He growls back that he isn't going anywhere.  "--This time it isn't going to be so easy getting rid of me."

Back at Dano's, Laurita is whimpering to Francisco and Jackie over Icky being there again.  Laurita doesn't believe that Eva stole anything.  She's sure that it's just a trick Vicky planned to separate her dad and Eva.  Vicky didn't even know they were getting married, she adds.  (This kid is definitely the real genius here!)  Franc tells them he thinks the best thing would be for Eva to turn herself over to the police so that there would be an investigation.  It's only common sense, he says because then they could learn what really happened.  (What planeta is he living on?  Nobody in this telenovela has a lick of common sense.)  Laurita asks pitiably what if she's left and isn't coming back ever?  Franc wants to get her dad to come up and calm her down.  Laurita says she doesn't want to see him because he's with that witch, Vicky, right now!   (Bad move.  They need to break that bruja's spell over him and fast!)

Downstairs, Dano is telling Icky Bimbutt how badly he feels for letting himself be tricked by Eva.   Vicky tried to kill herself and it nearly cost him his friendship with her brother, as well!   They were both victimized, she says.  Vicky asks if that fight in the parking lot outside the agency that time was because of Eva.  Dan admits it was.  She lies to him, saying right after they announced their engagement Eva approached her and said she thought he had a lover on the side.  That's why Vicky became so crazy jealous.   "--Her intention was to separate us so you would be free and not feel guilty falling in love with her."  For the umpteenth time our shocked Dano can't believe how incredibly evil Eva was.   (I warned you this was going to make you all want to puke!)

Back at the cabin again, Tony tells Eva he wants the money.  She keeps yelling at him that there is no money!  He tells her nobody believes her, not the police and not even her wonderful Daniel.  He loses patience, manhandles her and screams that he knows she lying!  If he doesn't want him hanging around Ali then she will have to pay him.  It's $25,000.  He tells her he'll settle for $10,000.  What's the big deal?  She'll still have $15,000.  Eva keeps insisting to him she doesn't have any money.  He gets tired of using the "charm"  and finally pulls a knife on her.  He threatens her with giving away her hideout and says he'll be back the next day for his cash.  In the meantime, he taunts, he'll be "consoling" Alicia.   Eva is mortified.

At the boarding house, Adrian and D. Ricardo make dinner for Justa.  Adrian says he still wants his daddy to return.  He knows the guy can be tough on him (flashback to Tomas pulling a gun and threatening to use it on his son) and does prefer the attention and care he gets from Ricardo and Justa, but he's the only dad he has, he says.

At the casino, Leo asks where Tony is.  He's called him a hundred times, but he hasn't been answering his calls.   Just then his goons bring in Tomas.  Leo's mad that they didn't kill the guy like he ordered.  El Gallo says they couldn't find him; he was too well hidden.  Bottom line, the guys he hired blew it.  Leo wants him dead.  Tomas begs for his life as they search his pockets and find the envelope on him with the ransom money he got from Ricardo.  It coveres the debt.  Squirrely Tomas begs again for his life and says he's got a little boy who needs him.  (Ugh!)  Eventually Leo decides to let him go.

Vicky and her totally chastened Daniel go up to his bedroom.  They sit on the couch.  Dan is mentally wasted.  Icky keeps up the sweet, consoling chatter.  Life goes on.  It's good that he's learned his lesson, yadda, yadda.  Their duty is to now try and to be happy somehow.  She puts her hand on her arm and smiles.  He looks at her hand on his arm and considers what that means to him now.  (Hopefully, he's too exhausted to worry about that.)

Meanwhile, Don Julio sends for Renata.  He tells her he wants her to go immediately to an address he's giving her where they'll hand her over an envelope.  He won't tell her what it's about and tells her not a word to anybody.   He puts a tender hand on her arm and reminds her she's the only one he trusts there.  She seems to appreciate the sentiment.

In another part of the mansion, Motherly Marcy asks Vicky how things went with Daniel.  Bimbutt says marvelously!  Mama's plan has worked like a charm.  --Any mention of marriage?  No, says Vicky, but soon.  She is has lots of experience consoling Daniel and has been playing her cards just right.  It's strange, though, she adds.  With everything he's told her she actually feels sorry for him, though she's very happy to see him suffer.  (Sick, yeah.)  --Did he apologize?  Icky says no, but he's totally embarrassed at the way things have gone, especially remembering how she tried to commit suicide.  He couldn't bear to look her in the eyes because of it.  She admits she's surprised how well her mother's plans worked out.  Marcy tells her he'll be back with her very soon.   "--Just you wait and see!"

After Tony's gone, Eva is in tears again and prays for an answer as to what to do next.  She's upset because she has nobody to turn to.  Dan has though.  He's sitting on the couch and considering his situation and probably   thinking about his caring and long-suffering Bimbutt.

At the same time, Eva starts to call the police and turn herself in, but she remembers her sister begging her not to go to the police.  "--All they'll do is lock her up and throw away the key" she remembers Ali saying.  Eva decides not to call them after all.

Adrian gets his wish.  Tomas makes his surprise return to the boarding house.  Tomas tells him his Daddy's back to stay.  Justa and Ricardo have just lost their appetites.  Tomas gets snotty with them.  He pulls a control fit and forces Adrian to go back up to the room with him and to hell with the kid getting to eat any of his supper.   Ricardo tells Justa he would love to give the guy a beating so he'd get the guy to straighten himself out and take proper care of Adrian like a decent father!

Tony shows up at the casino as Leo is telling El Gallo that things are going great and he has a beautiful girlfriend, to boot.  El Gallo tells him they found Tomas and he won't have to kill him now since Leo made his peace with the guy.  Tony gets paid and Leo goes off to play at the tables.  Tony smiles and says to himself he knows Leo is interested in Alicia, but if Leo gets involved with her he will pay for it.

Marisol is looking at wedding gowns and anxious to get married and to be done with her crappy job for good. Ali tells her about her interview at the modeling agency. Mari warns her that nobody gives anything for free. Ali laughs and says well in this case she'd pay him gladly. Yes, she likes him a lot. Even better, he is handsome and he is rich!

Leo wins at roulette and kisses the cheap blonde slut next to him. (Damn, she sounds like she's still in Jr. High and snuck out in her mother's fancy dress and high heels! I wouldn't put it past Leo to be that kind of perv, either!) Yep, Lady Luck is with him, he says.

Back at the manse, the maid comes in to tell Renata her taxi is waiting. What to tell Sra. Marcy? That she's had to go and will be back ASAP--but only if she asks. Just as Renata is getting ready to exit the back way, though, Marcy finds her in the kitchen and asks why there's a taxi. Ruh-roh! Is she going somewhere? Where's she going and why is she going without letting her know?

Will Renata cover for Don Julio or will she spill the beans?  Will Tony give away Eva to the police?  Will Daniel go back to Vicki despite Laurita's despising her and despite the fact he really doesn't love her?  Will Leo seduce Alicia?  ----Stay tuned.

Great recap, Jardinera! You're so right about the barf bag. I'm not sure how many more episodios like this one my poor system can take.

I was hoping that Leo would return to his "cabin" while Tony was still there abusing Eva, but no such luck. I was also hoping that Dano would remember how unhappy Laurita would be with Icky, but no such luck. Sigh.

Did Tony really ask for $10K? I thought he said "mil dólares," but I don't trust my Spanish. I wonder whether Eva will ask Leo to help out with this. Blech.

Oh well, I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'll be watching tonight's episode hoping for the best and fearing the worst.

I think Tony said "Dies mil", which is $10K.

That scene make me lose my appetite almost more than Icktoria's scene with Laurita.

Is Leo an addicted gambler? And whatever Julio just did with his lawyer should be want it takes to fix his wagon along with Marcy and Ictoria's.

great recap, Jardinera! I loved all the 'barf/puke' warnings, ( we certainly needed some meds to get over last night's ep with V-icky and Dan-o.
Esp loved the 'Laurita enters the bedroom to check on her father and finds her worst nightmare standing in front of her looking like the Cheshire Cat ready to pounce on an unsuspecting canary'... too funny.
I think Renata's loyalty is more with Julio than with Marcela even if she and Marcela were accomplices way back then about the baby... I think she will cover for Julio... but I could be wrong. This time Marcela might be taking her for granted and she will pay.

my theory of the hands on Eva were 'Tony' all along and I was right. And I also feared he would blackmail her about the money...

I did hear Tony asked first for the whole $25K and then he said he would settle for $10K.

Jardinera- Wonderful recap. I have not watched this show in two weeks, since the writers decided to send Eva's and Dan's lives down the crapper, at the same time. I'm just too wimpy to watch, so I appreciate the detailed (and snarky) recaps you give us. I took a peek at the show last night and it was just as Tomas broke up the happy dinner with Adrian, Justa and Don Ric. I immediately switched channels. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse...

I don't know why this tn bugs me to the point of not being able to watch (and I see others have the same problem). There is something off with the balance between tragedy/comedy/misfortune/happiness. There should be enough of the good stuff, and the hope of good stuff to keep an audience hooked. I applaud those of you who have been able to watch each episode. I'll keep reading the great recaps and comments though!

Yes, Leo has a HUGE gambling addiction... that is how he gets in trouble with Gallo and others... and why he sucks the money out of the family and Don Julio does not trust him (between that and his addiction to seduce women to drop them afterwards) further than he could throw him... remember what Julio commented when Leo brought him the video game as a 'present'?

vivi, I agree that the balance has fallen off in last couple weeks. It is time for Julio to step in and shake the boat for Marcela and Vicky... it won't be until Eva shows up and formally accuses Dano but someone better shake Dano back into reason... otherwise he will misinterpret what is about to happen also as part of Eva's scheme.

Didn't Gallo call Leo Jefe? That would mean Gallo works FOR Leo. I'm under the impression Leo owns the illegal gambling casino. (Remember Tomas owed money, and who ordered the hit? Leo not Gallo)

Tony originally asked for $5,000 but got exasperated at Eva's denial of having any money Tony upped in to $10,000 (Sort of like tightening the screws)

Jar...como siempre...bien hecho.

I came in on this capitulo very late. I turned on the telly to see the scene between Bimbutt and Dano...it was more than I could take. I promptly shut the darn telly off.

This TN is rapidly losing its appeal for me. I had a very hard time enjoying it at the beginning but the never ending evil people are just too much.

In STuD, when Valentina behaved badly towards Jose Miguel...he still found it in his heart to love her (except when it came to the death of his father which was understandable, but that didn't last for long), but THIS...listening to that Dano and seeing Bimbutt with all of her hair roots showing and her phony blonde hair (can you tell being phony gets on my nerves?!) was too much.

I'm going to follow this only with our wonderful group of recappers until such time that the tide turns.

Why should Don J trust Renata? She has done Cruella Marcela's dirty work all these years? At the rate this TN is going, I don't expect much of anything positive to happen.

...and...the ridiculous sub-plot with Franc and Marisol...oh please...end it already.

Gracias, Jar!!

Susanita

thanks Jardinera. Wonderful detail.

Vivi, I'm right there with you. I just can't watch anymore. I turn on briefly and as soon as I see some of the mind-numbin nonsense going on, I just can't continue. If only one person had kept their sensibility besides DJ and Laurita, I could take it. But having everyone just jumped in head first into "acceptance-ville" on all the lies is just too much.

I normally don't mind the "evil" characters in TN's, but what bugs me is the way all the good guys except for the two noted above have suddenly become down-right stupid, and most of the side characters are in plots I just don't care for. I'll keep reading our wonderful recappers and hope for a turnaround. Just call me chicken until then.

I'm with you ladies.. hanging in there. Last night I was thinking I should stop watching it for a week, just because it's got quite disturbing for me to watch.. How can there be so much evil?? I just hope and pray Renata keeps her mouth shut and doesn't say a thing to Carmela. I'm ready for something good to happen to Eva..
I think watching Tony hurting Eva and el desgrasiado Adrian's father come back to the house just did it for me. There is more villans than heroins in this soap. Having said all that, I still LOVE IT!

I am watching it nightly just for Guy and Jorge Lavat. BTW, interesting tidbit about Jorge Lavat... according to IMDB... He dubbed the voice of Gomez Addams in the Spanish version of The Addams Family TV series...
also he was Dr Miranda in a movie I remember seeing when I was a kid, La hermanita Dinamita with Hilda Aguirre about a young woman who accidentally runs over a boy with her car and she ends up sneaking in the hospital faking being a nurse to be near the boy while he recups. Jorge played the senior surgeon who operates on the boy at the end...

For those of you in the know...has this TN already played in Mexico? If so, how was it received?

Gracias in advance!

Susanita

Susanita- No. This has not played in Mexico. It's a US production and it's the first time it's being played anywhere. So, no possibilities for spoliers.

I have to say, I don't want to rain on the parade of anyone enjoying this novela. I hate it when other people do that on a novela I truly enjoy. I can see the things to love about this novela- Guy E., pretty Blanca, great kids, fun side characters, Don Julio, Justa and Don Ricardo. The scales are just tipped too much on the evil side for me right now. I'm a wimp. But I promise to return to watching once things get a bit more balanced. :)

Rossana: Welcome!

Geez! This tn is turning us inside out. You're all right IMHO that there's just too much bad stuff going on but I say it'll move quickly. I guess I am like the kids who watch scary movies with their hands over their eyes and peek through their open fingers. I hate what's happening but I am mesmerized.

Thanks for any correction about the Tony scene with Eva dickering for the amount of cash he wants. I had a hard time keeping up with all the crap. Frankly, this subplot was driving me crazy and it was split up so much I wasn't sure where it started or stopped or if I caught it all in the end.
8' ? /

I get the feeling that Leo's gambling den has a bigger fish than him at the very top. Why else would El Gallo go after him with all that muscle at the beginning of the tn and warn him to pay off his debts?

Jardinera, Thanks for the great recap. This really was a hard episode to watch. It's like all the creeps are getting their way.
And then they throw that odious Thomas back in the mix. I can't stand it!!!!And Tony going after Eva for the money.

Loved your line re. vicky "I wouldn't trust her to fold socks."
Laurita and Don Julio really have there work cut out for them. They seem to be the only two with any smarts about them!!

Jardinera thanks again for the recap, I sure hope these episodes lighten up here a bit.

Jardinera, thanks for recapping this really barf bag worthy episode, you are a real trooper.

I think all of the comments echo my sentiments about the direction this TN has taken - and we thought STuD was bad!

Dan had better sober up and start thinking again like a real galan. Tony and Leo are headed for the dumpster as far as I am concerned.

I hope Renata wakes up soon. She may be the one to do in Marcela when she finds out about the poison. After all, supposedly DJ is the love of her life.

Rosemary

Vivi: Thanks for the infos and clarification. Don't ask me why, but every time I see "Venivision" on the credits at the end, I think it was produced in Venezuela!!

There is just a little too much estupidez right now with some of the most despicable of the characters.

Tony is the biggest bunch of filth of all of the bad characters. Leo is sadistic and mean. It seems more than the usual TN 'bad apple' fare.

Susanita

Almost forgot...Vivi...is this playing in Mexico as well in spite of the fact that it was produced in the US?

Gracias. :))

Susanita

Susanita-

It's not being shown in Mexico, but it is being shown in Venezuela via Venevisión, and in Chile via Chilevisión. Yes, odd that those two LatAm countries would get it first but not Mexico.

I'm a little puzzled by how surprised everyone is that the Bad Guys seem to be winning. I'm no telenovela expert, but most of the TNs I've seen have exactly that plot pattern. Lots of angst, evil, sadness, etc., for much of the TN. And then, near the end, the tables begin to turn and Beauty, Truth, and Justice triumph. In fact, what strikes me about this TN is that for the most part, no single evil scheme has been successful for long. For that reason, I'm thinking/hoping Jardinera is right in predicting that the bad stuff will move quickly. Since we're not even remotely near the end, other bad stuff will likely take its place, but I find that more interesting and enjoyable than one bad situation stretched out for many weeks or even months.

Anyway, in spite of finding these past few episodes rather distressing, I'm enjoying the TN and will keep watching until an upcoming trip makes that impossible (but I'll be able to keep following it even then thanks to the recaps).

BTW, thanks to all who corrected my incorrect understanding of the amount Tony was demanding from Eva. I had been surprised that he was willing to settle for only $1K, but I now see that that wasn't the case. I guess I'd better not try shopping or bargaining in Spanish quite yet--I'd probably wind up offering more than the asking price!

It would seem this TN is turning everybody's stomach. They need to balance it out soon, evil cannot prevail always. What a disappointment.
Jardinera, you get the recaper of the year award. This is hard to watch let alone recap.I'll probably check back in a few weeks.Hopefully there will be some improvement.

hi everyone , Jardinera thanks for the recapp. My CCS where not working yet again.

ITA about watching this TN, compared to STUD which I've been rewatching on the net. EVA & Dano seems like their clueless about each other and what's going on; Even the hubby who's been watching this TN with me, thinks where do these people live on PLUTO (oops I think they got rid of that plante), I to can't stand all the evil, at least with Ivonna on STUD you had really crazy, and then LEO who's just a bad women looking out for her son. On this TN more than 1/2 the people are bad. BALANCE!!!, this just needs more good things to happen. Michele in PA

As always, Jardinera, your recaps are awesome, and this one is no exception. Loved the part about Icky's deep metaphysical wisdom.

I came in on the show a few weeks after it began, so I don't know why Don J is still living in this hellhole, nor do we know, I guess, where he will live after he gives Marcy the boot. Talk about living in the middle of a toxic waste dump!

Because I came in late, I also don't know what Marcy's black glove is all about. Does she have leprosy or something? She totally creeps me out even without the glove, but every time I see it, I'm mega-creeped

Dona,

We don't know why Marcy where's the black glove, Burno tried to give her a white glove and she went all witchy on him.

As to Don Julio not moving he just recently started feeling better, b/c he stop taking the medicine back in the 2nd week of December. As to where he will go, IMO he will probably to the grave since he's taken so much of the medicine that nothing can be done for him.

Jardinera, thanks for the recap and making me laugh today on my break. The comment about not trusting Victoria to fold socks gave me a chuckle.
The first week Eva Luna was on my teenage daughter caught a glimpse of Leo and said his eyes were unusually far apart. Ever since she said that I can't look at his creepy face. I laughed when someone a week or so ago commented about his asymmetrical face and not being able to tell which eye is watching you. The eyes are nothing compared to his despicable behavior.
Where in the heck is Claudia, she needs to come and rain on Victoria and Marcy's parade soon. We need some more characters to genuinely turn away from the dark side and balance things out.

Beautiful recap Jardinera, I read it twice, I only needed the barf bag when I actually watched the episode last night. Like watching a train wreck in slow motion!!!
Why is Alicia such a potato head??
And I agree with you, I think Laurita would have rather seen one of those tripods from War of the Worlds rather than Ictoria standing there in her father's room.

Thanks again, everyone!

Vivi: thank you for the additional infos. I did notice that the credits at the end say something about Venivision. Is Guy Ecker from Venezuela by chance?

Nurse: I was the one who had commented upon Leo's eyes. He just has more of a pronounced asymmetry of his face than most. No matter...he is just as disgusting as Tony.

So many disgusting types on this TN!!

Susanita

Susanita- Guy should be called Pan-American Guy. He was born in Brazil to American parents. He grew up in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico. His dad worked for an international company. So Guy speaks English, Spanish and Portugese fluently. Pretty cool, huh? He has worked in novelas, tv, and movies in the US (I believe he had a recurring role in the NBC show Las Vegas), Brazil, and Spanish speaking LatAm. He'll never be out of work.

I don't know about you all but I can't wait to see what Julio had in mind and why the lawyer and doctor were both so reluctant to go with his plan. The doctor kept saying it was dangerous, so when Julio sipped some of his coffee, I figured he was going to basically cause himself another 'attack' and I guess what the doctor meant is that this next 'self-imposed attack' could kill him.
However, I think Julio is not all gone since in the Previews I could see that the Doctor had a slight smirk of satisfaction in his face when he showed marcela some document (probably the results of his blood work)... i can't wait for tonight's ep!! (esp when the previews included Julio leaning back and laughing very happily).
