Eva Luna #54 Thu 1/20/11 What’s Next? Sweet Revenge … But Danger Lurks in From Another Angle/Evil Damsel
First we see playbacks of scenes from wed’s ep…
Leo calls Tony to check on his new ‘job’. Tony says working on it. And asks for more moolah with excuse he has to pay out his sources. Leo says money is no object but find her!!
Labels: eva
Bruno: looks like a Mobster. He and Cruella deserve each other.
Tony: he is sickening to watch. I mute the telly every time he is there. His voice...his mannerisms...everything about him is so sickening. That stupid Alicia doesn't get it. Why she is attracted to this piece of filth is beyond me. I STILL do not understand why the other guy is in jail for something that this cheap, low life thug did. How long is that man going to rot in jail?!
Dano: at the moment, has no interest for me.
Icky: as unattractive as ever...very unattractive.
Leo: can't cry very well. Almost looked like he was smiling.
Renata: so, that letter did not go into the grave, but fell at the side? I wonder who will find it and pick it up?
Don J and Laurita: my faith lies with them.
Adriancito: This is hard to watch. I hope that his ugly father does not transform him to be like him. This is a sad story line.
Cruella Marcela: She actually thinks she has a lovely wardrobe?! She looks like Polyester Woman! Not to mention those ugly red lips.
Gracias, Jar!!
Susanita
Great recap I think things a progressing at a good pace. As Susanita say's Leo does have a hard time crying, he always hides his face b/c he can't get the tears to come.
You know watching the charcter of Alicia, I don't like very much. She's very self centered, now instead of her calling Dano (or even the police) to see if he's heared from Eva, she's forgotten all about her sister living on the streets of LA with no money. She should have told Tia Tilda the truth that Eva was in trouble. For Heavens sake she and Mariole are congrulating each other on marriage's and jobs. It's the same old thing with this girl, she only looks out for number one herself.
I'm glad Eva's finally gotten 1/2 a brian cell to work. Her throwing the sand in Tony's eye's was a very good thing. Doesn't Tony realize that if Eva had that money she wouldn't still be in LA. She'd be in some posh Hotel, eating nice meals, and sleeping in a bed, not on the beach.
Dano better wise up before he ends up back in an engaement with Ick-toria.
I to thought that the letter Reneta had she drop in on the coffin, but that's probably why when Don J and Dr. Gracia were standing by the grave they didn't see the letter laying on the coffin.
Ahhhhhhhh this is getting good again.
Michele in Pa
Don J and the good doctor will be fun to watch in the next few episodes. I can't wait for the reading of the will.
Adriancito needs a lot of help. This poor child deserves better and his canalla of a father needs to be consequenced.
Francisco/Marisol has to conclude now. We're going into a new chapter and Francisco needs to be in a position to fight Icktoria and to help clear Eva.
Michele brought up another point that needs clearing up for me. Why did self centered Alicia not tell Matilde the truth?!
Susanita
In the meantime that beanie you gave me is slipping off a little...
I wonder how many dinners poor little Adrian will have to miss before someone picks up the #//@%!! phone (no one ever picks up the phone to do something right in these TNs!!) and calls child wellfare. "Adrian won't forgive me for putting his dad in jail..." bad excuse, and that is not what would happen, anyway.
How much of a reward would be posted for someone who embezzled what is petty cash in the business world? Hardly worth giving up cheap help especially when she does such a splendid job cleaning your bathrooms.
So it was sand that Eva threw in Tony's face? That makes sense, since I couldn't imagine how she was able to reach for mace or something similar. I was also rather surprised (and pleased) that her brain cells showed signs of coming back to life.
Ah, so the note didn't wind up in the coffin. I kept expecting Don Julio to find it when he was standing at the coffin. I guess someone else will find it--I wonder who that will be.
As for Bimbutt's being locked in the bathroom for a month--yes, an excellent idea! Actually, I was (and still am) afraid that the wife will lock Eva in there to make sure she doesn't leave before the police arrive. However, the trailers seem to suggest that Eva is praying to the Virgencita, and I doubt that that's happening in either the bathroom or a jail cell, so perhaps my fears are unfounded.
Speaking of Bimbutt, I was astonished by the outfit she wore to her father's "funeral." The outfit ended just about in line with her crotch.
I am hoping at some point Renata is turned into an aly for both Julio and Eva. She really was the only one that seemed to care.
I find the Adrain/Thomas story line very hard to take and so distressing. That little boy really does a good job of acting as an abused child.
How the heck did Tony find Eva? She needs to turn herself in.
Thanks again Marta for the recap and thanks Jardinera for posting it for her.
Thanks for detailed recap
Kalum
I did not focus on the length of Bimbutt's dress, but I am sure you are right...
Did I say I LOVE Don Julio as a character and what Jorge Lavat is doing with it... Where has this guy been hiding the last 20 yrs or so... I have missed his voice, laughter and facial expressions... priceless!!
There is one thing I really do like about the TN: Actors in their 70s and 80s are still given bona fide meaty roles and are treated with respect by their peers (or so it seems if one is to believe the talk shows, etc.) Jorge Lavat has an excellent role in this TN. I believe his acting is going to WAY outshine all of the others not only with his acting skills, but his voice and wonderful mannerisms he brings to the character.
If truth be told, Don J is the one reason I am hanging on to this TN!!!
Susanita
I still hold onto hopes that Dan will step out of his "Victoria coma." I do think it will be a while. He is another reason I am watching this and will still cheer him on to get back to where he belongs, that is with Eva!!
I'm yet another fan of Don Julio and of the actor who plays him. And I agree with Susanita about TNs giving aging actors meaty roles. Makes me wish I were an actor! :-)
I'm also a fan of Dano's (and of Guy Ecker, who was what attracted me to this TN to begin with). Like Pata, I'm very eager for him to awaken from his "Victoria coma."
you are right Debra ownes a big manufacturing makeup company that's internationally known. Marcella want's to do business with it.
Martaviett great recap you and Jardinera
But I do want Don J to last long and at least have a reunion with Justa.
About the burial. Isn't Claw V-icky best friend? How come she wasn't in attendance? We haven't seen her since the hospital.
About the Leo//Alicia pairing. Did the writers or Alicia have amnesia? I had to check, but in that early chapter where Leo brought Eva home from the fashion show, Alicia sees him talking to Eva.
Alicia remarks later to Eva in their room if that is the man who was interested in her--she says NO, That's Sr. Leonardo (and she uses his name), who lives in the house where she works. Alicia even admired the earrings he gave Eva. You'd think she would ask him about the coincidence.
I still can't believe that Eva wouldn't have told Justa and Alicia who she worked for, where she worked and phone number for emergencies.
I wondered, too, how on earth Tony happened to "find" Eva at the beach--of all the places in LA she could have been hiding in. Throwing the sand was a brilliant move. I hope she keeps using her head. When is she going to figure out the 25K Tony was talking about matches the 25K she's supposed to have stolen.
After all the petty crimes and hurtful lies he's told, Tony doesn't merit redemption. But jail time? Hmm, he's probably had to live by his wits for some time and knowing he's cute, cashes in on it and manages to stay ahead of the game.
Tomas is a despicable nobody exploiting a child. He doesn't deserve redemption either. He comes breezing in after being gone for what seems like a couple of months and swaggers around like they owe him some favors. Who was paying for the room in the pension for his kid and his meals?
I got so invested in the romance between Eva and Dan that I'm devestated by the break-up. Especially now that Vicky has been behaving so nicely.
Who knew V-icky could cook. It was cute, though, when she told Dan as she left him that it [pancakes] was the only thing she knew how to prepare.
Thank goodness there's so much going on with Don Julio (love that man) that keeps me interested. Loved the back and forth between him and Marcela before his "demise."
The lovebirds have a whole lot of crow to eat about jumping to conclusions (which Marcela, Leo and Tony have been feeding them). I wonder who will apologize first.
Una Norteamericana
That didn't come up in their automobile confrontation. Eva should have been surprised to see her still around and asked her where the money went if she didn't use it for a trip.
Una Nteam.
"I think that would be a LOVELY place to lock up Bimbutt for a month" Good comments that make so much sense! The writers I am convinced do not think the majority of their audience have more than a double digit IQ!
==============
Susanita/Juanita: ITSA! I really appreciate the respect given in these telenovelas to the old warhorses of noveladom. They do get juicy roles and help us remember that the elderly are still fully functional and worthwhile watching!
==========
Well, I am more than ready to see what this new etapa will bring!
Long live the senior warhorses! Absolutely!
Looking at imdb.com info, it seems Lupita was doing novelas in Vvenezuela and movies in Mexico around the same time early on in her career and then moved to mex altogether in early 90s.
