And I was cheering for Julio, Ricardo and Justa!! those showed not one smidge of doubt, Eva is innocent. Period!
the previews are very encouraging after a whole week of this unneccessary broken heart sickening drama...
 

Martai: You captured all the heartbreak and sneaky evil deception for this episodio so well! Thank you for the recap. I wanted to scream at the t.v. to both Eva and Dano to get.a.clue! I guess the writers are doing their job if they've gotten us that wrapped up emotionally in this silly thing. I was cheering for Laurita and Julio.

Both of them actually have a head on their shoulders and both feet firmly on the ground. Unfortunately one is sooooo old he's discounted as too feeble while the other one is sooooo young that her good sense is ignored also.

Tony and Leo definitely deserve the worst punishment the writers can give them. I feel very sorry for Justa for when she finds out that Icky is her missing daughter.

This situation won't go away in two episodes;; it's too big. I predict Wednesday of next week.

Another capitulo too difficult to watch. Kudos to Ecker for absolutely having us believe his pain. I did appreciate his acting in this scene as he was most convincing in terms of his sense of loss and betrayal.

As in STuD, it is once again a child who can see and think clearly.

UA is correct...the older one and the younger one will be ignored until things are brought to the brink.

Justa is going to be so disappointed in the wretched Victoria. I hope and pray that the writers don't let Icky get off easily.

Tony and Leo, but especially Tony, are nothing more than despicable filth.

It also upset me how the witch Icky could just casually call Eva a whore at the dinner table.

Someone...yank of that glove from that UGLY Cruella Marcella. I don't find this actriz to be particularly photogenic, but her ugly lipstick, hair, and clothes are beyond belief. It's that wretched glove that I want to see come off!

I always love your recaps and especially look forward to the sarcasm (it is the only weapon against the insanity).
I agree that Leo would have to be a complete idiot in thinking that Phony Tony will not get curious about the secretive photos, DUH.
If only Tony would get in a disfiguring automobile accident and the memory card and photos get destroyed when his car goes up in flames (somehow I doubt that would happen, one can dream).
It looks like DJulio might get to remind Eva that she still has functioning braincells in that head of hers.
Laurita and Julio are the only characters to consistently prove that the young and the old have the best instincts. Thank God for their sanity!
I start back in my final semester of nursing school next week and hope some of the many lies and misunderstandings get semi-resolved so I can focus on school without being preoccupied by fictional characters acting out fictional plot lines that leave me so infuriated.
By the way, I am really so sick of the whole Marisol and Francisco thing, why is time even being wasted on all of their shenanigans.
 

What I want to know is how Dano does not remember how he heard of Eva in the first place. Does he think someone as scheming and ice cold like that would bother working as an apple picker? and win the award for the apple ad slogan in his company?
How does that relate to a proffessional thief hopping from town to town seducing rich men?

I hope Dano does not get into a constantly drunk pattern, i want him to keep thinking things through and possibly figure out by himself that the whole storyline of Eva stealing from him is full of holes... like he told himself before he began drinking, why would Eva settle for 25K if she can get much more from him, even if she came up with an excuse to postpone the marriage? He would not dump her just because she wanted to slow things down... But nooooooooo... it looks like his brain took a vacation somewhere in the pacific ocean...
 

In addition to the forgoing, how can Daniel believe anything Icky says?

And when is somebody going to realize that Icky put the acid in the face cream?

All I'm asking of the writers right now is to not make Daniel marry Icky Vicky. However I can easily see her taking advantage of him when he's drunk.
 

Thanks very much, Marta, for a great recap. I loved your comments, especially the one pointing out that Alicia, even in her despair, is really focusing on herself. For a while, I was beginning to warm to Alicia, but her Me Me Me has again turned me off. I also liked your remark about Eva's remembering the car accident "for the 23345th time."

I thought the most absurd part of this episode was the arrival of the police when Eva and Alicia were meeting. Gimme a break--the cop pulls over and comes out to ask whether they're OK? Why? (That's a rhetorical question, of course. It's clear why--the writers are playing with us and can't think of a plausible way to do so. Blech.)

I've enjoyed the commercials that pick up on what's just been happening in the TN. I don't watch all that much television these days, but I don't recall seeing this except in this TN. Is it more common than I think, or is this a new development that's likely to spread? (Or perhaps not spread, since it must be expensive to film commercials for just one showing.)

Though at times I've been very critical of the writers, I agree with Jardinera that they must be doing their job "if they've gottten us that wrapped up emotionally in this silly thing." Good point! Certainly I was an emotional wreck after the episode before this one. Last night's was more bearable, at least for me, especially after I watched the trailer. But I suspect that tonight's episode won't bring the relief I'm hoping for. As Urban Anthropologist said, it's too soon. Sigh.
 

The problem is like someone suggested, Marcela and Leo could blackmail Dano into marrying Vicky in order to keep Eva out of jail. And that would be such a worn out TN subplot that it would make me yawn. The way they have developed Daniel's character to date is he is a very mature guy with his feet on earth EXCEPT when it has to do with his daughter and Eva's safety and well-being... so who knows.

The question I have is if the police are looking for Eva, why didn't they get her in the park with Alicia? They had a picture of what she looked like, b/c Vicky gave them one.

ITA about Don Julio and Laurita having the only common sense on this TN.

Where is Claw, as we know the hosptial only keeps you for 24 hours, she's been in there for almost 2 or 3 days.

I to loved the scenes between Dano and Laurita. shows great acting on both parts of these actor's.

ITA that the writer's are doing a great job b/c they have us engaged into the charters of this TN. Also I don't want them to hook Daniel up with Vicky, but I'm believeing that's what's going to happen. When he see's those pic's of Leo and Eva. he's going to do something stupid.

Another question I have is if the wedding isn't cancelled for next week, who's getting married?

great recap as always. Tough watching this TN right after Llena. That one leaves you on a high, and then I find my crashing down in depression over Eva.

What else could possibly go wrong now? I agree it was disappointing to see Dan so convinced that Eva was so evil, and he was heartbreaking to watch. (But well done!)

So if Leo sends the pics...how can he show his face back at the ranch, so to speak. Is he planning to skip town with Eva?

There's a lot of directions this could go now...but I'm thinking, like Llena, will they now turn Eva into a cut-throat beyotch determined to get even with Dano. Maybe Julio will set her up so she can take off under a new identity? (Lord help her if she goes off with Leo). I see a possible fast forward here so she can hone her new image and persona?

I agree with the commenters. That between Eva and Dano, their brains together are not as sharp as young Laurita. I forgot about Don Julio. He also is a sharp cookie.

I hope Dano doesn't marry Vicky. I see nothing nice about her nor do I think she is pretty.

ITA with Martai's comments about how could Dano forget how he met her and where she came from????? Also, YES! She could get oodles more money from him if she actually married him! Shows you "Phony Tony" isn't quite as smart as he thinks, because Dano will have to consider that eventually. Or perhaps, Franc will bring it up in one of their man-to-man conversations.

How well does Francisco know Icky Vicky and her slimy brother? He should be able to find the holes in this situation.

Thanks to the well wishers. If I get through this last semester and my boards without a nervous breakdown, it will be a miracle.
What makes suffering through these TN's worth it is being able to talk and joke about them with my Spanish speaking patients at the hospital. They are surprised and delighted that I watch them and know all of the characters (it is a great ice breaker).
 

I am afraid if Dano keeps on drinking that even if Fran reads all the evidence out to him that points to the holes in Marcela's story that Dano won't be listening.
 

Nurseintraining, here in houston if you walk down a hospital hallway you will hear most tv's tuned to the tv-novelas... they barely watch the hospital channels... lol
 

Nurse: I have to tell you that when I went to the Yucatan and started speaking with a number of the natives there they were all surprised at the fact we watched them, too! It was a great way to get to practice my Spanish because we had something in common!

It was so tough to watch Daniel self-destruct like that and get drunk. *Sniff* Well, Guy Ecker surely can do a wonderful thwarted and rejected lover. He was SOOO good at being SOOOO sad. Wonderful.

But this is so frustrating! If they just would talk to each other for 5 minutes, this would all be cleared up! But isn't that the rule of all telenovelas—no one talks to the ones they should talk to. And so the story drags out and out! LOL>

I just finished watching today's episode and I'm in pins and needles.. This soap is so good. Do you think there is a chance of Dani changing his mind and marrying icky vicky? Eva quit listening to Leonardo!! What are you thinking?? I wonder if what the old man has in mind to help Eva. Leonardo looked kinda short next to Eva today, and Tony... I can't believe he is so evil!!
 

Julio is getting his lawyer to come see him. Renata asks if this is again about the divorce papers and Julio says no, not the divorce but a document much more important than that...
I have a feeling the document Don Julio refered to in friday's ep was a revised will... that would be great! do you guys imagine Marcela and Vicky's face if Don Julio leaves everything to Eva? Who cares about divorce if Julio can hurt Marcela where it hurts her the most... lol
 

California is a Community Property state, which means that Julio probably can't completely disinherit Marcela.

In most states, however, you can legally disinherit offspring.

COMMUNICATION people..she should have called her future husband up to ask about the red car. It is L.A. and there are tons of nice valuable cars around town...let him explain.

Vicky trashed Dano's bedroom and wrote on his mirror..then he awoke a few days later to find her standing over him with a butcher knife in her hand wearing her wedding gown. She tried to kill him...AND he still hasn't changed the locks or put a restraining order out on her.She could have killed his daughter ! How does she get past the household staff? What good are they if they can't keep people out!!

Julio probably can't disherit Marcela altogether but he certainly can leave a big enough chunk of his estate to Eva, maybe even the house (just for kicking Marcela where it hurts)... so that marcela will have to SHARE or even have Eva's approval for making moves... That would really hurt her bad....
