Llena de Amor #102 (Mex. 107) Thu 1/6/11 Interruptions 'R Us

We start off with Gladiola interrupting her "shameful" son and friend playing octopus in the hallway. She goes on about them being the scandal of the house, flaunting their “amajuje” whatever that is. Must be some made up word for affair or some such thing. Any ideas? When they fail to be shamed she plays hardball, advising Consuelo to consider her poor kid who has never gotten over not having a dad around. As I recall Javi thinks his dad is alive and at sea or something like that. Might be time to tell him the truth that daddy abandoned them.

Kristel tells Ilitia she may be dumb but she ain’t stupid. She knows Ilitia has the hots for that naco policeman. Ilitia begs Kristel to understand that she is going through a rough patch and all she wants to do is fix things with Eman. Kristel threatens that Ilitia had better do as she says or she’ll make sure Eman knows the real Ilitia.

The fresas emphasize their feelings by speaking English. Ilitia says Kristel is her “BFF, Best Friend Forever and ever.” She pleads, “please por favor” she really loves Eman and the naco polis forced her. Kristel laughs that she knows that Ilitia has the hots for the super naco. OK you win, says Ilitia, I’m your slave, just don’t tell Eman.

El Comis, Oliver and Manolo are in a car staking out some dirty business between Maur-on, Dandy and some other bad guys. El Comis snipes at Gman for not having his camera ready to record the details. Gman decides he needs to get closer so, disguised in his bullet-proof vest with a big “POLICIA” stenciled on it, s/he creeps closer. Dandy notices the “little bumble bee” sneaking up on them and they peel out, leaving the other two guys behind. Of course they see Gman and whip their guns out. Oliver puts himself between the bad guys and Gman and gets shot. Again.

Over at the R y d T business there is some sort of tribunal going on. Emiliano, Fedra, Emanuel, Lorenzo and Muñeca are discussing Vicky’s employment with Vicky in the room. Eman insists Vicky is creating disharmony. Lowrenzo, leering at Vicky, thinks Eman’s making a mountain out of a molehill. Fedra is, well, Fedra and she has numerous nasty comments to make. Muñeca says the most important thing is that the customers are very satisfied with her work. You’re absolutely right, says Eman, so if she stays I quit.

They are interrupted by the secretary bringing in an important envelope. It’s notification that Marianela has named Victoria to be her legal representative on the board of directors and as an agent of her shares in the company. This ought to stir things up.

Gman freaks out over our favorite target while the S.W.A.T. team throws him in one of the SUVs. Gman puts the pedal to the metal and leave El Comis shouting that they forgot him.

Vicky swears she didn’t know about this but Fedra calls her a damn liar, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. When Muñeca says Mari is within her rights Fedra turns on her and points out that when Muñeca appointed Lowrenzo to be her agent he rewarded her by giving her a son…of another mother. Vicky happily tells Fedra that she is fully prepared to represent Mari on their board of directors. So there.

Gladiola is still wailing at Bernardo and demanding to know his true feelings for Consuelo. Consuelo is hiding behind the door eavesdropping and crossing her fingers. Gladi tells Brandon that if he really cares then he should man up and marry Consti. Consuelo smiles and gleefuly nods her head.

Another interruption, this time by El Comis who radios Brandon that Oliver has been shot and is on his way to the hospital.

After a bit of chest puffing between Fedra and Vicky Fedra leaves in a snit and Muñeca promises Vicky her complete support. When Emiliano is alone with the brats he tells them to work it out like adults. He thinks with their bickering they are acting like a couple of lovers. They both turn away and smirk.

When Vicky tries to leave Eman grabs her and, face to face, demands to know what’s up with her.

Netty is in the makeup chair getting beautified when her lawyer Eugenia brings her the latest copy of TV y Novelas, complete with a cover shot of Emiliano and Netty kissing in public!

Emiliano is listening to Fedra dish it out about that vile Vicky. He tells her she’s seeing Moors with knives (imagining things), she says, no, she’s seeing a fatty with a knife. He scolds her for insulting her “best friend” Muñeca, and when she gets home please tell Nereida to pack his bag as he’s traveling to the United States on business…ALONE. It was fun watching Fedra get all exciting about going to the U.S. then get her hopes dashed, all within two seconds.

Lowrenzo skips in with A MAGAZINE in his hands. Fedra sneers “here is the happy daddy of a 2-yr old.” He gets instant gratification by sneering back that he’s not the only one with problems, they too have a scandal. He grins as he throws the magazine on the table and Fedra gets an eyeful of her public shame, her husband kissing a fifth rate actress.

Across town Netty is also freaking out about the publicity and Eugenio helps out by telling her it’s her own fault. With so many available men around (ahem) why does she have to go out with old Blue Eyes? She looks at the magazine and sighs, “what a kiss” and gets all hot and fluttery. Probably not exactly the reaction Eugenio was looking for.

More posturing, sputtering and sueltemes from Vicky and Eman. He accuses her of coming there to destroy him. She accuses him of destroying Mari. It’s all more of the same. They end up glaring into each other’s eyes from about an inch apart.

Oliver is rolled into the operating room while Gman weeps openly. Gladi, Consuelo and Brandon run up just as El Comis yells at Gman for putting Oliver at risk. Gman cries not true, Oliver is the love of his life.

Clearly my wish to not witness the Queen of Surl has been denied. Vicky is in full high dudgeon as she grabs Eman’s collar and pronounces that she knows exactly who he is. They push each other around the room playing insult ping-pong. They are saying mean things but the kissing music starts so get ready. He’s prepared to open his chest to reveal his love for Mari. (Take your shirt off and prove it!) He tells Vicky she’s beautiful but she’s dry and empty inside. They both jut out their jaws. They glare. Doh, and we go to commercial.

And no kiss. He calls her dead and she throws a vase at the door, muttering he’s the one who killed her.

Now it’s Andres in the makeup chair with Doris doing the favors. Their mild flirtation is, guess what, interrupted by a phone call informing Doris of Oliver’s situation. Andres volunteers to drive. I wonder where Jackie is?

Over at the hospital Gman is weeping that s/he’ll die if Oliver dies. Brandon reminds Gman that s/he’s NOT Oli’s novio, but Gladi and Consuelo think s/he’s truly in love and Gman’s tears are making their hearts break.

Back at the studio Netty is acting her heart out. The shoot is interrupted by Eugenio with the bad news about Oliver. Netty faints for reals this time.

Fedra is ranting at Emiliano while Lowrenzo happily stands in the background hoping to watch the fur fly. But Emiliano’s tired of playing this game. He held back from Netty for two years because of Fedra’s alleged heart problems but no more. Then I think he says that Fedra doesn’t need to worry because Netty doesn’t want to see him, but that doesn’t really make sense, does it?

After Emiliano stomps out Fedra lashes out at Lowrenzo, a new father who is the age of a grandfather. He points out they’re about the same age, and well past her best years. She starts seducing him and they end up with their hands around each others’ necks. Hooray, it’s a tandem strangling! After getting all gaspy and red-faced they release their grips and move on to the inevitable kiss. They are, you guessed it, interrupted. This time by Kristel who is aghast at the sight, and in daddy’s office!

Fidel visits Eman and they high-five Eman’s success in retrieving the money. Eman announces he’ll deliver the money and it will be in Fidel’s honor and that of their partners who, after all, are getting the best return. Is he talking about Mauricio and Dandy? Can’t tell.

Lowrenzo falls all over his words trying to explain to Kristel but she pronounces that their brains are running on hormones, not neurons. Kristel excuses Lowrenzo, claps her hands, sighs “Mami” and defines her terms. Either Fedra helps her get Mau for a husband or she tells daddy.

Andres being absent from the studio holds up a shoot and Vicky gets all over Jacquie’s case for it. Ilitia arrives and Vicky is unpleasantly surprised. Ilitia is even more unpleasantly surprised when Emiliano breaks the news that Vicky is the artistic director AND on the board of directors AND Ilitia’s boss. Vicky tells Ilitia she’d better discipline herself or they’ll have a problem.

Over at the hospital the ladies blame Gretel for Oliver’s desire to keep jumping in front of bullets. Gman weeps to Doris that they’re right. Netty arrives in a swath of high drama.

Brandon announces that the doctors are going to operate but if they can’t remove the bullet Oliver could die. Gman faints in his arms. While the ladies dither Brandon decides open Gman’s shirt so he can breathe. He gets an eyeful and exclaims “Que the hell?”

Ilitia’s shampoo commercial is not going well. Vicky tells her to be sexier, make love to the shampoo as if it were a man, and smile. Their commercial is INTERRUPTED by Eman who knows he can make Ilitia smile. He feels the frost and asks what’s the problem? “She is” they answer in stereo.

Vicky, Ilitia and Eman try to shoot the commercial but instead they waste time by acting sarcastic and know-it-all. I’d love to know what’s going on in the cameraman’s head.

Over at the pension Javi recruits Delicia to act out his favorite play, Romeo and Juliet. She recites her lines and is sweetly surprised when Axel arrives and knows Romeo’s lines by heart. Yeah I know, he interrupted but it was sweet so I didn't say it.

At the hospital the ladies wonder why Brandon is acting so weird all of a sudden. He thought bubbles that there are a pair of very good reasons hiding under Gman’s shirt. He tries to carry Gman to a room while Doris tries to pull Gman out of his arms so she can take him. They play tug of war for a few seconds until Brandon wins and disappears down the hall with his haul.

More stupid commercial and Ilitia smiles for Eman, it’s a wrap. Vicky agrees that everything went well but Ilitia should be careful, she needs to go on a diet, something something, but everything else is fine. Did anyone get what she said?

Brandon and Gman are alone in an exam room. He taunts her briefly before s/he jumps up and heads toward the door. Brandon pulls off the wig and moustache, “Long time no see, Gretel Ruiz y de Teresa!” Busted!

Mañana: Kristel sees Mauricio manhandling Ilitia so she slaps her. This is SO wrong! More heat between el Lirio and Vicky.

Great title Sylvia. Didn't think of it that way last night, but you're so right...everyone stepping in on everyone else and with game-changing results.

I'm hoping Gladiola stepping in on Consuelo & Brandon will put an end to that. Someone mentioned our cookie-loving lawyer as a possible mate for Connie - I know he's a mooch, but he has his heart in the right place.Just get her away from Brandon. Hate this pairing.

Speaking of Brandon, now that he figured our about Gretel, I want to see what they decide to do. I so want Oliver to finally find out who Gman is, it can still stay a secret from everyone else. But it also opens an interesting door since she came with M/V, will Mari's cover get blown too and Brandon find out Vicky is really Mari?

Mari - turn it down a notch will you? I know she's supposed to be full of hate and venom, but didn't you ever hear of killing people with kindness? I would think she could make better progress being more cooperative and fool people as to her real intentions.

Comment on Ilitia needing to lose weight? Are we setting up a pregnancy? Please tell me no...but it would be a typical TN ploy.

Delicia....will she finally melt to Fuzzy's Shakespeare quoting? I want more of her tonight! I need a rest from the shrill ladies.

Hey, way to continue the 'R Us theme Sylvia! I'm likin' it.

I was absolutely in stitches, laughing out loud like a maniac during the co-strangulation scene. One of the funniest numbers I've ever seen in a telenovela. And Lorenzo's face really was red and puffy, bulging dangerously. Fedra must have been squeezing him really hard. Both of them played it to perfection. A+ folks!

And you had so many great lines in this, Sylvia....

playing octupus
more posturing, sputtering and sueltemes
Queen of Surl
playing insult ping-pong
arrives in a swatch of high drama

All great. On the diet remark, I think Vicky just followed it up by saying "looks like you've put on a few pounds but whatever..." And I ditto Daisynjay's oh no's. Are we going to have a Mauricio pregnancy?Ack! It wouldn't be a Brandon baby would it. When did that tryst take place?

Excellent, Sylvia. I like Queen of Surl and the way he has been acting lately, Eman might well be called the Prince of Churl.

So now Marivicky, after having endured tons of fat jokes, is comfortable poking fun at Ilitia about her weight? Mercy.

The choke dance between our favorite snakes was so satisfying. Like you Judy, I cracked up and it seemed to me that Fedra might have been enjoying it just a bit too much.

Marivicky is not the first to mention Ilitia's weight gain. I'm not certain of who it was (I think it was Kristal), but someone else recently pointed out to her that it looks as though she's gained a few pounds since getting married. It didn't occur to me that she might be pregnant. Thanks daisynjay. Now if she swoons tonight...

Carlos

Oh, Judy, you are so right about the choking scene. That was definitely a "scare the cat" moment as I bust out laughing. Have to say, they may be despicable, but these actors have made these truly characters you love to hate.

Sylvia, that was a great recap. I started watching this a bit ago on Judy B's suggestion and must admit I am enjoying it. Last night was pretty fun. The choking scene was halarious and did indeed look very real.

Thanks again Sylvia and all the recappers of this show. And thanks Judy for insisting I give it a try. There certainly are alot more laughs on this one than on the darker "eva"

Another hilarious episode, and like the others I have started to really enjoy the ditzy Kristel character.

Last night was the first night I got to watch on TV. Kristel is very hard to understand (for me) and so at least last night I had the Spanish captions and could figure out what I missed when I watched this episode on line.

Loved the "seeing Moors with curved knives" remark. This episode was so fast and funny, like the last several. And the villains are just so outrageously funny, you start to like them!

Mari told Ilitia she looked like she had put on a couple of kilos.

Great recap Sylvia and loved the title as well. There were quite a few interruptus moments for sure. LOL what a way for Brandon to discover that Manolo isn't a man. Now that he knows about the disguise, I'm sure he will wonder if Victoria is really who she says she is.

Loved how Low was smirking with glee while Fedra and Emil argued about the tabloid picture of him and Netty.

Yes. I agree El Lirio and MariVictoria are generating much heat with the obvious attraction between them.

Axel quoting Romeo's lines from memory to Delicia; swoonworthy. I'm sure it melted her heart. Let's hope he doesn't act like a jerk with her again now that the ice is melting.

Sylvia: High-spirited, all-encompassing and well written. The vocabulary was an extra treat.

Judy noted all of my favorite lines so I'll simply say you were in fine form.

I've been saying that Ilitia has had more than her share of heartache but I can't fathom a worse fate than having her pregnant by Mauricio. I sincerely hope the writers don't go there.

Delicia is divine and am hoping for another Axel metamorphasis into a caring, considerate being.

So Brandon finally figured it out! Or, figured one of the ruses out. So, what will he do with it???

Happy Friday all.

Diana

Ahoy all, thanks so much for weighing in, no pun intended.

Oh gosh, of course Ilitia must be pregnant. Can't believe I didn't pick up on that last night, duh.

Oh yes, Axel was at his best last night. I hope he permanently dispenses with his obnoxious side, call it temporary insanity, and reverts back to the sweetie he once was. Even Delicia said that too him recently. Swoonworthy is a perfect description.

I'm glad everyone else loved the strangulation in stereo scene. I seriously laughed out loud throughout the entire segment. I just know those actors must have been cracking up big time afterward. Only those two would consider a near double-homicide to be foreplay.

Audrey, I can barely understand word that Kristel says becaus she talks so darn fast. It's like the rat-a-tat-tat of a machine gun.

Sylvia, top form as always. Excellent use of a theme. My favorite, of course, was the Romeo and Juliet scene. Those two are adorable when Axel isn't being a tool.

When Gladiola was chastising Brandon, she mentioned that if there were "consequences" to his relationship with Consuelo (by which I assume she meant pregnancy), he'd better do the right thing. Looked like Consuelo picked up on that terrible idea. I hope we don't go there. It wouldn't be quite as bad as Ilitia pregnant by the rapey snake, but almost.

REALLY hope Ilitia isn't pregnant. I thought MariVicky was just being bitchy, commenting on her weight to get even for the stuff she used to say to Mari and try to make her insecure, but if someone else also mentioned Ilitia is gaining weight...oh no. Is it too much to hope that she's just developed some hormonal disorder that makes her gain weight easily and will make her more sympathetic to weight problems?

Excellent as always, Sylvia. And, to the rest of the recappers, sorry I haven't commented lately - but I love 'em all. Each of you has a slightly different spin, plus your own brand of humor that makes reading the recaps a highlight of my day. Thanks oooooodles.

Loved the strangulation scene. Wonder how many takes it took. They appeared to be holding back laughter a time or two. It must take a special talent to play opposite Fedra and keep a straight face.

Glad Brandon knows GMan's little (er??) secret. This should be interesting.

Tired of Vicky. Who in the world would be quite that vengeful in the name of a friend. Come on!!

Yeah Brandon - he figured it out. Next, he'll figure out about the rape of Ilitia and who did it. I'm really liking this character and Armando Araiza (sp) is doing a good job. Amazed I can like him after Mi Pecado but he's doing a great job as the caring naco policeman. The strangulation scene was funny and I hoped they would finish each other off. No way Ilitia can be pregnant with Orangeaid; that would be too much. Emanual and Mari/Vicky in the shoving match was funny. Those two have the hots for each other and Emiliano nailed it when he said they were acting like lovers. Vicky's anger, shrillness, hostility, etc. is a mask to keep Emanuel at bay. Her feelings are confused and, though she knows Ilitia really stole Emanuel from her, she is reluctant to interfere in their marriage. But what a revenge that would be if she becomes the reason that Emanuel and Ilitia break up. Would serve Ilitia right. Haven't seen any signs of redemption for her - she's still the spoiled brat that thinks everyone should kowtow to her. The commerical was hysterical. Marianela was giving all the right directions but Ilitia was being an uncooperative, unprofssional witch. Emanuel didn't really give her different instructions than Vicky; she just chose to follow him. And she's supposed to be a world-class model. Go figure! Also, Emanuel was yielding his ego by saying he could get Ilitia to do the commerical correctly.

Sylvia, this was wonderful! Others beat me to citing favorite lines. A great read!

I really enjoyed last night’s episode – they just keep getting better and better. Like others, I thought the strangle scene was a howl. In that scene, and in the Ilitia/Kristel ones I again was thinking that the actors are having the time of their lives.

I wished I’d had my beanie on for the Romeo and Juliet scene, though, because I just couldn’t buy that a little boy would like reading that play (in play form, no less, not summarized) and would pick the balcony scene instead of a swordfight scene as his favorite. I was so agog over that that Axel’s bit barely registered.

It never dawned on me that Ilitia might be pregnant. Gosh, I’m thick as a brick on guessing plot twists. I just assumed that MariVicky was giving her little dig.

Now “Marienela” has given voting rights for her shares to “Vicky.” Okay, who was voting her shares before? Was it Emiliano?

Oh Maggie, now you are being very pragmatic! I hadn't even thought of who might be voting for Mari before. That little plot device was out of the blue, wasn't it?

Maybe Axel was in drama class and that's how he knew his lines. Yeah, that's it, drama class!

Sylvia, I'll give Axel the benefit of the doubt on the Shakespeare. I covered Shakespeare plays in high school and then took a whole semester in college as an English elective. A lot of it just stays with you on the plays you spend a lot of time on and enjoy...to this day I can still quote whole sections of Hamlet or Much Ado.

Can't remember where I put the remote, but I can give you Hamlet's second encounter with Polonius verbatim. Go figure.

That's okay, ladies, I still quote parts of Antony's speech about Brutus from Julius Caesar and it's been a good 30 years since I studied it. I also can quote the poem Beer from Mad Magazine of poetry that I learned when I was about 10 or 11. But like you Daisynjay, I can't always remember where I put things. LOL!

Daisy and Barbara, you two are totally cracking me up. It's amazing how the mind words (or doesn't), isn't it?

I just started watching recently, so I don't understand when Marianela made the transition to Victoria. I also don't understand why Eman doesn't seem to know who Vicky is. Can someone help me?

Hi Denise, thank you for joining us!

I'm terrible at explaining telenovela "logic" but I'll give it a try. Marianela, aka La Gorda (the fatty)started out the show being quite overweight. (A very hot fat suit that always made the actress have bright rosy cheeks) She went through all sorts of abuse at the hands of Fedra, Bernardo, Kristel and Ilitia who constantly made fat jokes at her expense. Yuk. She and Emanuel were childhood friends, cousins in fact, and they fell in love as adults. We were able to get rid of that pesky inbreeding thing by discovering that Fedra had been knocked up by a sea captain and married Emiliano after the fact so Eman is not blood after all. Marianela ended up believing that Emanuel was trying to marry her and then kill her for her inheritance so she moved to Spain to be with her auntie. In fact, Bernardo had given her poisoned chocolates allegedly from Emanuel and they were making her sick. When in Spain she became very ill and they tested the chocolates and found poison. But the doctor told her that if she didn't lose weight she would die soon, so she started working out. Suddenly it was "Two Years Later" and Marianela returned to Mexico City "disguised" as Victoria. She has a bad Spanish accent and we are all baffled as to why nobody can recognize her.

Why is it that Eman cannot recognize the love of his life when he hears her voice, looks into her eyes, or inhales her aroma? Who the heck knows!! This drives us crazy, but we choose to shake it off because we like to think it helps the plot progress.

I hope this helps.

It does help, Cap'n. Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for all your recaps! I have been a reader since the novela "Barreras"

Can you wonderful people make this blog into RSS Feed?

Sylvia, I loved your comment about the hilarious strangulation scene: "Only those two would consider a near double-homicide to be foreplay!" Also, thanks for the recap you gave in another comment - I'm a latecomer, and it helped me, too! And, as always, I'm grateful for the vocabulary words! Thanks so much!

Hi to the newcomers. WELCOME! We are very glad to have you join us. If you go to the menu bar on the left and scroll down to the "Experimental Llena recap feed", click on that and you will see a list of all the past recaps. The first couple at the bottom include a synopsis and cast of characters. I just read the synopsis and it says Mari returns from Spain "full of optimism and confidence in herself". Hah, full of bile and vitriol is more like it!

I think you can subscribe to an RSS feed from that page as well, at least for Llena, not sure about the entire blog.
