Llena de Amor #155 (Mex. 172-173) Wed 3/23/11 Blood And Secrets A'Plenty Are Spilled But Hope Springs Eternal

(...but you missed half those secrets if you only watched the Univision version.)

Dicho of the Day: Lo que es para ti, nadie te lo quita; lo que no, simplement se aleja.”
No one can take away that which is truly yours; anything else will fade away.

And that's basically our story, isn't it? The Human Condition(Sorry Balzac, you said it better.) These confused, often annoying Llena de Amor characters are fighting against their Destiny. Striving for what is not to be, ignoring and mistreating that which they are destined to embrace. Turning away from the good and true; running after the false and harmful. But keep hope, readers and viewers. If we can survive this two-fer-one marathon 'till the end, we'll see Virtue rewarded, Evil punished and a big lovin' spoonful of Happily Ever After.

In the meantime, we still have to wade through a whole lotta dreck so let's get started. (And don't expect different colors for deleted parts. I'm in nooooo mood.)

Lowrenzo is advocating the abortion, adding helpfully that Fedra will rip the whelp out of Ilitia with her bare hands if she finds out the bebito isn't Emanuel's. Strangely, this doesn't change the Princess' mind. Don't make me lose it, papa, por favor, she pleads.

Back to the Estrogen Mob in Brandon's office. This time it's Oliver barricaded behind the desk. With a whole lot of “Orales” he herds them out one by one, with sassy Fedra being the last to go. Leaving Gretel, his carmelito de limón, and another stab at reconciliation. Which bombs because next Kristel sashays in the door, clutching and sniffing (what IS it with these olfactory scenes?) Oliver's jacket and chortling that she slept with it all night so her pillow would smell like HOMBRE. Gretel storms out leaving Kristel to gush that Oliver is so sexy when he's mad. Oh my.

More Estrogen Wars outside Emanuel's cell but the troops have shrunk to Fedra, Muñeca and Netty. Fed is claiming her rights to see him as M.A.D.R.E. Netty sniffs that she's not worthy of the name (a ti te queda grande). Brandon arrives, is dismissed by Fed as having not enough authority to even direct traffic. But our boy rears up and fires back that he's just learned there's been a homicide and el Lirio de Plata may be implicated.

In the holding room, Emanuel's having one of his interminable thought conversations with Vicky (forgive me flaquita linda blah blah) when Gretel arrives to tell him she believes in him, she loves him but hey...are you actually el Lirio?

Meanwhile, stupid annoying idiotic dopey self-righteousVicky is still hanging around the judge's office, murmuring" no puede sers" and getting her fingerprints all over the evidence. Even Brandon can't help pointing out how she's contaminated the homicide scene. Surely you can't suspect me, she whimpers. No, but it looks like you're an accomplice and that you arranged for the judge to be killed to hide the secret of your dual identity, he and Oliver warns. (Throw her in the clink forever! With a gag. I side with Fedra on this one.)

Back at the mansion, Low wants to exit but not without providing Ilitia with some sisterly companionship. Make up girls, he pleads with Kristel and Ilitia and settle into that true blue friendship you once had. (Best part of the scene? When Kristel starts to hug him and he jumps back like he's scalded. Yep, incest can really kill the mood.)

And speaking of mood killers, Mauricio appears. Sitting beside Fedra at the jail, he informs her that Lorenzo sent him to see if she needed anything. And to plot together on bringing down Victoria de la Gartha.

Meanwhile Boss Low has a park rendezvous with Dandy...to “dar su merecido a esta persona (Brandon)”(give him what he deserves) for daring to sully his daughter's womb.

Brandon has hauled Vicky into his office and is fending off a fluttering indignant Netty who KNOWS her niece is innocent. Fedra waltzes in.
B: Señora, you can't just walk in like that!
F: Oh...I just did. And I don't need your permission escuincle (kid). Now bust my son out of jail. Clearly he's not el Lirio de Plata. Lirio killed the judge. And SHE (pointing at Vicky) ordered him to do it.

While Kristel and Ilitia continue to squabble, the former suddenly realizes that the baby isn't her brother's but rather Brandon's. Uh oh.

More uh oh's. The bad vibes in Brandon's office has brought on a Vicky asthma attack. Fedra, mockingly wheezing herself, exits in triumph with further proof that Vicky is actually Marianela. And while the latter sucks on her inhaler she manages to stammer out that la Gorda must return. (Can't wait.)

Fedra has finally bullied her way into to seeing her chiquito Emanuel but the reunion isn't going well. He refuses to let her implicate Vicky in Judge Pantoja's murder and notes that José will back up his innocence. Mamita wants him as far away from Chema as possible but without a “razon de peso” (good reason) to back that up, Emanuel refuses.

Mientras tanto, Chema's having a heart to heart with Bernardo over drinks at the cantina. Not sure if he can trust his old buddy. Of course he can. Bernardo is a “perro San Bernardo” (ah, symbolic name) and he'll stand by el Capitán “hasta la muerte” (yikes, foreshadowing for sure.) THEN TELL ME WHETHER OR NOT EMANUEL IS MY SON. To twist the screw a little further, Chema reminds him he spent 25 years in prison for a crime Bernardo committed.
Lord! Brandon's office is a busy place. Mauricio now storms in, vowing to sue Vicky for defamation of character, alienation of affection and false promises. No one escapes the “largo brazo de la ley”. Vicky calls him a patán (jerk) and an imbecil and slaps him a good one. Fine, now he'll add assault and battery to the charges, with Brandon as witness.

Mientras tanto, Emanuel's little hamster is taking a few test runs on the wheel. Mom, you tremble and get nervous whenever you hear José Sevilla's name. I know you. He must possess some secret about you. Fed automatically pulls the Mother Card and sniffs about how unjust and undeserved these vile suspicions are.
E: Stop using Love as an excuse for everything.
F: I suppose you'd rather have someone like Muñeca (insert sneer) for a mother.
E: Mom, you're talented and intelligent...but you've used that talent and intelligence to hurt others.
F: How?
E: Marianela.
F. Pshaw! She always plays the victim.
E: Well how about Gretel? Axel? Tio Max? Papa? Do you want me to go on? Yes, “me da mucha pena ser tuyo.” (yes, it really hurts me to be your son.)
Brandon brings Vicky into the holding room and Fedra makes her exit with a baleful glare and the hope that Vicky will rot in prison. (I'll drink to that!)

Vicky's her usual sweet self. Rejects Eman's offer of family lawyer (I don't your help, I have my own) and Brandon leaves the two lovebirds together, hoping that one of them will say something incriminating. Instead, it's the same old drill. Eman talks about how much he loves her (querer). She says he only cares for himself. Let's compress these scenes and get 'em over with. They storm some more, then the love talk begins. She caves. Admits she loves him too and since he's promised to be the best father in the Universe even if divorced from Ilitia, she jumps on board and wants to be married as soon as possible. Above discussion ends in smash-mouth kisses. With a lot of squinching by Eman as he suddenly remembers Ilitia's threat to harm the baby if he leaves her. So he backpedals and sez no can do on Marriage until after the baby is born. And Vicky returns to Rant and accuses him of deliberately seducing her into admitting her love so that he could then reject her.

I'm sooooo sick of this. Aren't you? Honestly I just want to vomit, every time I hear the Vicky/Eman plaintive violin theme music.

And I wish that were all the ugliness of the evening but it's not. There's still the Axel-hole Delicia Alfredo Fettucine mess to deal with.
Delicia is down in the kitchen acting very Lord of the Manor and ordering Nereida to do her laundry. Nereida's refusing naturally. Alfredo arrives, Delicia grabs an iron frying pan (shades of Emilia!) and wants to know how he managed to get those filthy photos and write those incriminating lies on her back. More on this later.

Kristel and Gretel are having a sisterly spat over Oliver. The latter warns that Olly will betray Kristel at the swish of a skirt. No way, Not with the super-hiper-mega wild love we're making, simpers Kris. Doorbell rings. Doctora Chelatina to the rescue! (is there some play on the slang word for “beer”? It seems to crack up everybody when they hear it.)
Whoops. We're back in the kitchen where Alfredo is sneering that De shouldn't regret the ruin of her marriage. All he did was save her from that inútil Axel. (y'know, he has a point.) She wants to know how she slept through the staged seduction. He gives her credit for being intelligent in addition to being pretty but regrets that her drug-induced stupor kept the encounter from getting any more interesting. And moves in for a kiss. Lots of “suelteme's” and an indignant Axel-hole who arrives to huff that he's caught them at it again!

With Gretel and Paula barely suppressing grins, the Doctora quickly gets to work, dismissing Kristel as an chronic schizophrenic rabid autistic hysteric (take that girlfriend!) and herding Gretel to a chair. Firmly placing her hand on his knee (physical contact is important chula!) Olly/Chelita then insists that Netty is very worried about Gretel.

Back to the kitchen. Axel-hole is dismissing De as a “cualquiera”. Alfredo sneers that he should leave them in peace. I don't give a damn about your relationship (me vale) but at least respect my house and take your cositas to a hotel. But Axel, I'm your wife! begs De. Don't remind me! Worst mistake I ever made, sneers the little snot. And pushes her back into Alfredo's arms.

Much more affectionate tussling going on with Gretel and the Doctora. Every time she tries to get up he pulls her down. So then she suggests they go to the boarding house. Oh no...with that “olor a comida casera...guacala...que asco!” sniffs Chelatina. Better here. Lots of stroking and hugging and “just get it out, honey” and clearly Gretel is having a hard time playing this straight. Grins keep slipping out as Oliver fools with her hair and reminds her he's not charging a thing for this psych session!

Suddenly Axel and Alfredo burst into the foyer, trading punches. They break apart and Alfredo throws Delicia over his shoulder, evidently ready to make good on Axel-hole's hotel suggestion. In a split second, Chelatina rolls over the coffee table (this one is worth rewinding the tape), pulls a gun out of his purse and assumes the stance.

Caras impactadas all around. Mine included. That roll over the table was sensational.

Okay, we're now slogging on to the next episode. I've already covered the Vicky/Emanuel tiff so let's get back to Gretel and Doctora Smallbeer. “She's” explaining her firearms skills with a class she took to protect herself in manicomio (insane asylum) work. Whatever. De just wishes her husband had the “pantalones” ….er...”falda” to defend her like Dr. Chelatina did. Olly does a little friendly meddling, assuring Axel she can see he has an anger problem but that little gal really loves him. Axel brings up the lover on the eve of the wedding calumny. Chelatina opines that his dysfunctional family spends too much time believing groundless gossip and closing the door to Love. Gretel hauls her therapist off to Netty's boardinghouse.

And at the pensión, Netty is lamenting to the hungry lawyer that her angel of a niece couldn't possibly be guilty of the judge's murder. Pacheco points out that being found at the scene of the crime with a corpse looks kinda bad. Chema and pirate music theme arrive. Pacheco exits. Tender reassurance that José himself will keep Fedra from harming Netty's niece. Ready to seal it with a kiss, the rascal! Which is interrupted by the arrival of Gretel and Doctora Chelatina.

A better interruption back at the mansion. Fedra arrives, finds De in the foyer thinking things over and goes about sending her back to the servant's quarters with the rest of the hoi-polloi. And while you're at it, move my things up to my room, she tells the assembled staff and throw all of Vicky's crap (tiliches) in the garbage. She's going to rot in jail for the rest of her life. No way! A new stronger Emiliano has arrived. And he'll throw Fedra herself out if she makes trouble. Nereida, who sticks up for Fed, is invited to leave as well if she's not happy. Way to go Emiliano! Now please keep it up! (no pun intended).

Lots of hand signals, eyebrow wiggling and mouthing of words back at the pensión to make Netty understand that she and Chelatina are old friends and the psych has indeed been hired by Ernestina Pavón Romero to straighten Gretel out. Gretel, in a little sidebar conference, wants to ask Netty if Chelatina is gay. Netty assures her Chelatina is a babe, practically a runway model, who's had a slew of lovers.

Pacheco drifts back in, gets a glimpse of Chela's backside and is beset by Desire. Que Hembra (what a female!) er...Mujeróna (bodacious woman), he amends. Hand-kissing and invasion of “espacio vital” ensues. Brandon arrives and Gretel wants to know if he's acquainted with the therapist also-- her being such a great, long-time friend of Netty and all. Hasty pantomime and Brandon plays along. Right up to admitting Chelatina was his first lover and might have been his last, had he not learned she'd been sleeping with every bozo in the neighborhood. He gets mauled and pinched and hugged a bit for old times sake and thank God. Without the wonderful physical comedy of Oliver in this one, this episode would have been dreary indeed.

Some other scenes in between enjoying the Chelatina by-play.
  1. Fedra muses, after Emiliano's righteous exit, that no one will depose her from her throne. Much less you Emiliano.
  2. Vicky snipes at Jorge, whose lisp seems more annoying than ever. He proteths that he never betrayed her, he just used those papers to get the fingerprints and then nasty ol' Fedra cheated him. She wants him to get on the next plane to Madrid; he insists that he's staying in order to save her and besides, he really really luuuuuves her.
  3. Vicky has another dreary soliloquoy about how every man she trusts betrays her in the end.
  4. In his cell, Eman thought bubbles that even if the whole world perishes, he and Vicky will be together.
  5. Brandon and Oliver are in their room now with Olly kicking off the shoes, peeling off the fake nose and fretting about how to get Gretel back. Brandon recommends staying out of Kristel's bed as a start. But they have to hang onto Kristel so she'll tell 'em all she knows about Mauricio's dirty dealings.
  6. Emanuel and Vicky communicate through bars. He wants her to understand why he can't abandon Ilitia right now and how much he needs her support. She whines.
  7. Ilitia arrives with a sandwich and drink for her baby and “hasta en la sopa” (even here!) she's dismayed to find Vicky lurking nearby.
  8. Vicky opines that Ilitia is insupportable now that she's pregnant. Eman tells Ilitia to go home. She fakes a faint. He relents and they play kissyface through the bars. Vicky reminds herself to imprint this painful picture on her brain so she can stop loving Emanuel forever!

Let's have some fun, shall we? There's a great scene between Fedra and Kristel. Will the Univision Hacks delete it? (Yes, indeed they did.) Kristel, in a very hawt peach-colored skimpy frock, is set for another night of rape and pillage among the hombre set. Mom wants her to stay home and guard her reputation so some young man of good family will consent to marry her, in spite of the barren womb. There's always adoption, after all. And she wants her to have a happy marriage like Eman and Ilitia. Kristel snipes back that their marriage is as phony as this cheap purse. And by the way, Ilitia was thinking of aborting the kid. Whaddya think of that? But if you want to know more, you'll have to ask Ilitia. And she waltzes off. WELL AT LEAST WEAR A SWEATER! wails Fedra.

God, I love that. A sweater and mittens and boots as well, Kristel, 'cause guess who's waiting outside the door ready to slime all over you? Yep, the omnipresent Mauricio. He's talking sex, punishment, more sex, more punishment and after he gets her back to his pad, hits on the winning argument....Victoria seduced me by promising me control of the agency. That's the only reason I dumped you, mi amor. So together we can get her back. Just the turn-on that Kristel needed. Passionate kisses are the order of the day.

Extended bloody scene of Brandon being pummeled by a series of thugs while Lorenzo watches from a parked car in the garage. Enough of that. No need to linger.

Short scene of Gretel overhearing Ilitia and Fedra's discussion of Vicky's incarceration and Emanuel's imminent release. She dismisses them both as “viboras”. (Can you tell I'm getting tired after slogging through my second full episode. Jeez! Of course you're probably getting tired of reading this.)

Now Fedra gets down to business with Ilitia. Her daughter-in-law (nuera) is a fraud. How dare she think of aborting that baby and doing away with Fedra's “blood”. It's not your blood! stammers Ilitia. And now she's really in for it.

Have to admit I rather enjoyed seeing Fefdra knock her around, pull her hair and just generally scare the bejesus out of her. (And Univision drastically cut this scene also.) The pummeling and tussling follow them up the stairs to Ilitia's room, with the princess bleating that she was lonely, Eman was obsessed with Victoria after all and....well.... he didn't take care of her.

Fedra's not impressed. What good is that body of yours if you don't use it to seduce your husband and drive him wild? she sneers. My son could have had anyone but you didn't know how to win his love. And know why? “Cause you're a stupid, bratty little ninny of a “maldita zorra” who's just prey to her instincts. (Not a bad summary after all.)

Ilitia swears that her affair with Brandon is over. And gets a lip-bleeding smack for her pains.

Meanwhile, Vicky tosses and turns on her lonely jail cell cot and dreams of Ilitia and Eman (inexplicably attired in a fur-trimmed parka) billing and cooing over their baby's hospital crib. She lurches up, horrified, and suddenly Eman is behind her. He's filched the keys from the guard's pocket and is ready to bust out of there. Taking Vicky along. She refuses to go. But wants to know if he's really el Lirio de Plata.

Back to Ilitia and Fedra. Peace is being negotiated. Ilitia wants to keep the baby. It's Low who's insisting on an abortion. Fedra backs her up. No one can make you lose the baby. But if you ever...ever...let Emanuel know the child isn't his, I'll make sure you and your whelp are both six feet under.
Well, okay. What I like about that is the clear communication. Actions. Consequences. You choose, Ilitia. Works for me.

Final scene is of Benigno swilling booze in the cantina, lamenting Emanuel's incarceration and spilling major beans to Chema (Fidel has left. Chema's in charge of pouring Benigno into a taxi to go home when he's finished polluting himself.)

Prefacing his boozy speech with “no es panza, es puro corazón” (this is not a paunch, it's pure heart) Benigno opines that el Lirio de Plata could not have killed the judge because he's a good, noble fellow. And besides, he was in jail at the time of the killing. Whoops. Chema, puts two and two together and hits the jackpot.

Emanuel is his son. And he's the Lirio de Plata. Gangbusters! And we're done. Screw the previews. Vocabulary is embedded.

Hi JudyB!

Getting a little annoyed at the drawn-out repetition, are we?

First I thought you were channeling Charles Dickens, then WHAM! You really let her rip! Wow - pura snarkfest. It was awesome!

"stupid annoying idiotic dopey self-righteous Vicky" Whew! (but it's so TRUE)

I am only half through, but I had to comment to say how very much I am enjoying this. It's great!

Axel-hole Delicia Alfredo Fettucini mess - ROTFLOL!

Chelatina = Gelatina = Jello. I think that's the joke.

I'll be back later after I digest more.......

cheers, saludos y todo

Audrey

I had been out tonight, and I hadn't watched these episodes on-line either because I got so tired of Axel el monstro and seeing poor Delicia at the mercy of thugs, not to mention endless useless Eman-Vicky conversations.

But I just had to go back and see Dra Chelatina in action with the table roll. WOW!! Episode 173 early for those who want a repeat. Had me and hubby roaring with laughter. Oh I'm so glad I didn't miss that dose of la doctora!

Buenas noches mi tesoro bon-bon. Ta-taa!

Audrey

(Throw her in the clink forever! With a gag. I side with Fedra on this one.)I couldn't agree with you more Judy. I love this show, but it's sad when your heroine is more and more becoming the one character you want to see disappear. Eman, my dear, you deserve so much better.

But alas, he's stuck in TN'land where your "destiny" as you so beautifully spoke of is foist upon you. What a wonderful plot twist if Eman wound up with Dee or Doris!

And Oliver saves the day again. That wig must be glued on! I thought it would fly off after that move over the table. (But he was aiming at the wrong guy-should have pointed it at dumb-ass Axel first.) This plot makes me nauseous.

Good to see Chema's brain cells are firing. (Too bad said son is a little slower on the uptake. Must be the influence of Emi through his childhood years - but I love ya Cesar!)

My thanks to the fabulous recappers who really have to do double-duty every night with recapping two episodes, thanks to the snarks at Uni. You are all amazing!!!

Judy- Your cranky pants recap had me chuckling. I have not yet had a chance to go online and watch Tuesday's (thanks for the marvelous recap Julia) or yesterday's episodes. I think I will follow Audrey's lead and just watch the Dr. Chelatina scenes and skip the rest. :) Thanks so much Judy. These double episodes are killer, so I really appreciate your work on them.

Judy, where to start...The pictures were amazing (however did you capture Kristel's contorted expression??) The embedded vocabulary and the Dicho of the Day are much appreciated. The recap was marvelous. I so appreciate your watching the "unabridged" versions and sharing all of the goings on. Those of us suffering Univision are missing a lot of important details (i.e. the attempted Chema kiss). Ack.

"Striving for what is not to be, ignoring and mistreating that which they are destined to embrace" was my favorite line but thoroughly enjoyed "estrogen wars", "dreck" (such a cool word), "whelp", "Lord of the Manor" and "Axel-hole" - perfect :)

When I saw Doctora Chelatina, my eyes lit up! What a welcome sight! How the actors didn't break out into full fledged laughter was beyond me. I hope we see more of him - he brighted up the screen and this dreary storyline immensely. Audrey, thanks for sharing "Chelatina = Gelatina = Jello".

I have a very begrudging (and guilty) admiration for Fedra's uncanny ability to mortify and mock at every opportunity: "mockingly wheezing herself". For once, I didn't mind her scathingly imitating Vicky (an all around bummer and less than heroine material).

daisy, I like your idea that the dear doctora should have aimed at Axel. As others have stated, he is totally undeserving of Delicia. I don't expect to feel much joy at their reunion.

Hoping for more Doctora tonight. Thanks again Judy for the outstanding recap.

Diana

Thanks for your recap Judy. Though the episodes vexed you, stupidity and wretchedness in TNs seem to bring out the best in your recap. ITA w/you and Diana regarding the Dee/Axel mess.

Just popping up to say hello. Must get back to grading.

Thanks Judy for an outstanding recap.

I love Doctora Chelatina! He/she was hilarious last night and I was roaring the whole time.

Unfortunately, I missed the roll
over the table. I too hope we see more of this character. Ricardo Margaleff is a wonderful actor.

Does anyone know the capitulo number of this episode? I would like to see the whole thing.

I am amazed that no one pressed charges against Alfredo for kidnapping. Now he is free to roam and do more damage. I think Delicia is still in danger and I am more than ready to see these creeps disappear.

Laura

Hi Judy, Thanks for the fun and informative recap. I am not really watching this much any more as I was really getting confused with all the skipping around and missing scenes. But the recaps have been great!! Especially since you all seem to be including some of the missing bits. And Judy this was not "Boring" one bit!! I love how you put all this nonsense to such intelligent script.

Judy, this is so much fun today,

"(And don't expect different colors for deleted parts. I'm in nooooo mood.)"

"while the latter sucks on her inhaler she manages to stammer out that la Gorda must return. (Can't wait.)"

"I'm sooooo sick of this."

"Screw the previews. Vocabulary is embedded."

Someone forget her Zoloft yesterday?

What a hilarious recap. I only watched what Univision offered but you certainly made up for it.

Chelatina completely stole the show last night. What a move with the pistol, and I think that Netty just lost it completely and cracked up along with the rest of us watching the exchange between la Doctora and Brandon.

Thanks for making me smile and laugh this morning Dr. Judy.

Carlos

Hi Guys. Yes, Dr. Crankypants is in permanent residence. I doubt if even Zoloft could dent my chronic ire at the double recaps and the disgusting doings of Axel.

@Laura...last night was a casserole of 172 and 173. You can find it on www.noseq.com or dailymotion.

@Audrey...I'm with you. Dr. Chelatina is the only thing saving this for me right now. I want to shoot Vicky she's so annoying. As for Axel, bury him alive! Whatever.

@Daisynjay...thanks for appreciating the extra work we're all putting in. By the time you've taken notes on two episodes, written the recap and then watched the butchered synthesis for any corrections, you're ready to throw something through the TV screen or the computer.

In a word, I'm PITHED!

@Vivi...yes, for sure watch all of Dr. Chelatina's antics, but the deleted scene of Kristel and Fedra is really delightful as well. Fedra in mommy-role is hysterically funny. I just about lost it when she wailed "At least take a sweater!"

@Good morning Diana...I agree that Fedra was wonderful in her sassy oneupsmanship in the police station. Whether dissing Brandon and Netty, or sneering and smirking at Vicky, she was fabulous. I never expected to enjoy the actress this much after seeing her character in Sortilegio, but she's doing a fantastic job with this part. Hope she's enjoying it as much as we are.

@Karen...oh my, grading time. That was the one part of teaching I really hated. Better you than me amiga....but be kind!

@Laura...I'm sure there are a lot of things Alfredo could be arrested for. And I really fear that they will continue this noxious storyline that all of us hate. He and Axel are both despicable, but I'm really angrier at Axel since he is supposed to love De. Alfredo is just a chronic low-life.

@Pata...I don't blame you for throwing in the towel on these butchered episodes. It's just impossible to smoosh two nights into one without losing vital continuity, plot development and sapping the humor. A real shame.

@Carlos...you know me so well, amigo. My annoyance was reaching volcanic proportions last night...absolutely steaming! And gosh, what's a gal to do when she can no longer blame it on PMS or menopause? All my hormonal excuses are gone; will just have to rack it up to Terminally Bad Attitude.

Another nice long comment - eaten!! Now I'm pithed!!
Anyway, great job, JudyB-Crankypants. Some of your best work. We all appreciate it that you recappers are doing double duty every single night, and doing a fantastic job of it.

Mike and I nearly high-fived when Delicia picked up the iron skillet. She does need a few pointers on its use, for which I humbly volunteer.

Loved the table-roll. Oliver is such fun to watch and he definitely stole the show, bless him.

@Emilia...Thank goodness you were watching last night! When I saw the iron skillet I shouted out Emilia!!!....couldn't help myself. Delicia did need to do a lot more bashing instead of those weak little "suelteme's". Those clearly weren't getting her anywhere.

Chelatina's table roll was so awesome I began to wonder if the actor had started out as a stunt man. He doesn't have the muscular build of a gymnast but he is tremendously skilled in the use of his body. The Chelatina twirls as he played up to Brandon were beautifully choreographed as well. This is the best I've ever seen this actor do in a role.

By the way, on another line Jarocha said that, according to the Uni forum, Teresa will start at 9 pm next Wednesday, TdA will move to 10 pm. Eva Luna will stay at 8. So I guess that means, when we finish this inexplicable and annoying rush to the finish line, the next show will be Una Familia Con Suerte.

Recappers :
Thanks for the extra work you're doing. Doctora Chelatina and Manolo shoule have their own show.Perhaps "La Doctora y el Homre-secret crimefighters." Maybe El Lirio de la Plata could make special guest appearances like Batgir back in the 60's.

Belinda

Carlos,

Thank you for giving me the capitulos.I look forward to Chelatina rolling over the table.

@Belinda...a separate show for Chelatina and Manolo...with guest appearances by el Lirio! I'm all for the first two, but have to admit El Lirio rolling up his mask to kiss Victoria grosses me out. Not really a fan of the guy, though I am enjoying Valentino Lanus' portrayal of Emanuel. Especially the nyahnyah faces he makes whenever Brandon or Jorge are around.

Judy,

Axel is very obnoxious and I am sure we will have to suffer through more of his stupidity.

He and Delicia probably won't reconcile until the last episode.

Thanks again for your superb recap.

So fun to see that on the TDA blog they are now "Pithed" as well. I look for this word in the newest edition of Webster's next year.

I would love to see someone's explanation for all the dicing, splicing and moving that is going on with these shows. Heck, Eva is almost over, so will there even be a 7:00 pm EST show are is UNI trying a prime-time only schedule?

I'M REALLY PITHED!!! My laptop died last night, I finally got a sub up and running, finally got to read the recap, left a comment and blogger ate it! This is a test, if it works I'll try to comment again.

Loved the recap Judy. Hope you hear from me again.

Good morning all. Sorry about my little temper tantrum and sorry for my tardy comment but my laptop died last night just as I was starting to read Judy's wonderful recap. Woe is me, I was stuck with just the televised version and nobody to vent to about the episode. Luckily my honey brought home a laptop from his work so that I can do the recap tonight.

Judy, first of all thanks a million for your superb recap. Even when you are cranky you are hilarious. I think we're all a bit cranky with the way they are chopping up our show. I can assure you that if you don't get to watch the full episodes then what is shown makes absolutely no sense at all.

I love Dr. Chelatina and I'm so glad she made another appearance. I loved her table roll and had to rewind a couple of times just for sheer enjoyment.

I also enjoyed Vicky's rant against Jorrid. He finally got to see the nasty Vicky that we all know and loathe. It was great to see him on the receiving end.

Judy, thanks again for your recap and fantastic pictures. I enjoyed it even more than usual.

@Laura...so often they show characters granting instantaneous forgiveness in these stories, but I can't see Delicia forgiving and forgetting that fast. As an Anonymous commenter said the other day, she has a grim future ahead of her if every time Axel gets angry he throws her "sirvienta" status in her face. Noxious storyline. Basta ya!

@Daisynjay...someone on another line mentioned that Univision has a new program director and that he/she? is responsible for this decision. We've had difficult scheduling changes before (shows being moved from 9 pm to midnight!) but this is the first brutal compression tactic that I'm aware of.

@Sylvia...so sorry about the computer problems! I was thinking I might have to call you last night to post MY recap. We had a big thunderstorm here and sometimes our power goes off. Luckily that didn't happen since you wouldn't have been able to help me.

The "table roll" was just the best, wasn't it! Love that guy.

Awesome recap. I think you spoke for most of us who have really grown tired of the weepy, whiney, Vicky routine. At some point, we may just have to refer to Eman's lines and Vicky's lines because of the same rehash scenes over and over with them. A bit of a rant here. I think the main reason I don't care for MariVicky is because she is weak. She talks a good game but when push comes to shove she wilts. I like strong characters that dont sit around and cry, "woe is me, I'm the victim," ish all the time and actually do something about it. Doris and Delicia are strong characters that actually use their brains and give good advice that our sniveling protagonist should use. Rant over.

Oliver/Chelatina stole this episode hands down. I was crying with laughter throughout his whole scenes and it seemed most of the cast had a hard time keeping a straight face as well. When he laid Brandon's head on his chest, I screamed. That was so funny. Did anyone notice that Netty put her hands on her face like the famous Edvard Munch masterpiece, The Scream.

"Axel-hole" great name and that's how he's acting with Delicia who definitely deserves better.

Loved Fedra mimicking Mari's asthma attack. It looks like today the light bulb over Eman's head finally starts flickering when Fedra tells him and Vicky and Mari are the same person. I hope he lets her have it for deceiving him.

@Pirate Babe...yes, this show and particularly Vicky is bringing out the Rant in all of us.

Interesting comparison of Vicky to Delicia and Doris. Yes, they are stronger, smarter women. (Although I'm a little bored by Doris' PSA's on sida right now.) Usually the "naco" characters show more resourcefulness and moxie than the upper crust in these stories.

Don't know if it's market share among the viewers or not but the upper classes usually come out looking like weak schemiels unless straightened out by some underling.

Nice call on Netty's SCREAM as well. That was totally a fun scene, as was the previous Chelatina romp back at the mansion.

Judy, being pithed does great things for your recaps. One of your best ever. I am laughing so hard.

Thanks for suffering through that; at least you got plenty of Doctora Beer-Flavored Jello to liven things up. I could watch those scenes over and over, and probably will.

It's totally fine with me if they just forget to ever let Marianela out of jail. I like a leading lady with spunk and smarts. She's all bluff. I did enjoy her yelling at Jorrid, though.

@Julia..."Jorrid"! great. I like that even better than Jorrible. The really interesting part about that scene was....how in the world could she slap him through the bars! Emanuel was having a tough time pushing his face up to play kiss/kiss with Ilitia. Getting a resounding slap would have been impossible. Oh well...

Is Axel-hole (good one) suffering from rage deafness? How did he walk into the kitchen while Delicia was struggling and yelling at Alfredo to let her go and think that she was with him willingly? I disagree with Maximo--this family doesn't need to be refounded to carry on; this genetic strain needs to be weeded out of the pool para siempre. Bunch of morons.

@Julia...In real life anybody would counsel Delicia to divorce Axel and move far far away. While I understand telenovela writers must manipulate romances so there's a lot of breaking up and making up, this particular plot line makes me nauseous.

OK Judy, point taken, I have axed eLdP from my fantasy show but have added Mau as a Joker-esque character and Fedra as the KittyBeast. They should keep the Cross-Dressing Duo busy. Marianela is banned from my script, forever and always.

Thankfully this round of grading is over.

I also wanted to thank Julia and Maggie for their recaps.

Is there a place (Televisa) where we can let them know what Uni is doing? As Judy mentioned, we've been through a lot - shows moved from evening to midnight or mid-day and now this. I seriously don't understand the rush (though seeing Sendel in a comedy has excellent potential).

Also, this thread was from Mon or Tues, Uni's TN magazine editors are on crack if they think the ranking of their shows is based on their viewing time with the latest one as the best. This TN is hands down the best on right now!

Finally, I have to state yet again how completely disappointed I am with Axel. I know the writers wanted to break them up but having him act in this manner makes me echo Judy's counseling tips for Dee (don't walk run far, far away from this guy). It's just icky!!

Belinda, your show sounds perfect. I'm all in.

As to Axel, there aren't enough perdoname, perdonames to make up for what he is doing to sweet little Delicia, but we know that she'll forgive him in the end. Keep that skillet handy, girl, your how-to video is on its way!!!

Eman's light bulb must be a compact fluorescent - flickers a bit before it comes on!

Ah, I'm loving these discussions. Yes Belinda, I like your new arrangement of characters. I'm on board.

@Karen...at one time Carlos was thinking about contacting his person at the local Univision station (they've already communicated at length about the closed captioning problem); but I don't know if he's done anything about it. Considering he's still in practice, I'm surprised he even found the time to do that.

And I believe Sylvia has written to some Univision website with her complaint but has heard nothing back.

@Emilia...love the compact fluorescent light idea...yes, definitely a lot of flickers because the light actually turns on.

Querida JudyB, how you and the otros recappers can devote the time and concentration to sorting out this show between is nothing short of amazing. And appreciated!

Now is Axel-hole (love that! perfocto!) the product of his genetic destiny or just a damn snot. That boy is gonna have much to regret in the future.

OK, frankly glad that other folks find MV tiresome. She's the primary reason I quit watching some time ago and now that I'm watching again she's no better.

Oh yeah on the iron skillet! We really did laugh when Delicia picked that up for its familiar purpose.

Best part of the whole Chelatina scene was watching everyone work so hard to keep from laughing.

Belinda, I love your proposed show. Certainly Fedra and Mau must be on board to test our heroes. Every time I think of Doctora and her nimble pistol handling and her flirtatiousness, I crack up all over again.

Judy, I HAVE registered a complaint with my personal Univision mollifier, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. She always responds even if it's a week or so after my complaint. I do credit her with the improvement in the captions, especially for LldA and TdA. I've a feeling that she won't be able to do much about this thing with the compressed episodes, but I do think that she may give us some sort of explanation.

My patients who watch the show noticed the changes but were not aware of what is going on. Several (those with computers) have been glad to learn where they can view the uncut episodes. How's that for a full service primary care provider?

Mike, you must be thrilled that MV is about to don the fat suit again. Well, at least she is a little cheerier when she is in the Mari-mode. And don't forget that she is likely pregnant. That should do wonders for her demeanor.

Carlos

@Mike...so glad to have you back on line again with Emilia. I can remember many rollicking conversations back in our carefree Gancho days. Look back on those times with great fondness. And yes, Emilia needs to give our poor little Delicia some skillet lessons. She wasn't half brutal enough.

@Carlos...full service provider indeed. I love it that you can chat about telenovelas with your patients. Wish we could clone you so everyone could have a Dr. Carlos.

And I'm looking forward to the explanation your contact at the station will give you. I agree, I'm sure there's nothing she can do to change the situation, but it certainly would be great to know the reason why.

Hi Judy! Great recap, I was feeling your frustrations with the characteres and wasn't Oliver great as Dra. Chelatina? I only caught a few of his episodes but he was great. I love Ricardo Margaleff. He should have his own comedy show.

Silvia I'm sorry about replying too late but I love Chicharrón prensado. It's one of the most delicious things. You can eat it in tacos or alone, here in DF they make gorditas with it that are quite yummi. You can make a sauce with it and eat it with tortillas and black beans and it is mostly eaten as a snack when you eat carnitas (I strongly advice to add it in the tacos of carnitas). But of course it's not for every day because because the hours at the gym would be hell, hehe.

Jarocha

Jarocha, thanks for getting back to us about the chincharrón prensado. We haven't shared recipes here in a while, but the Lovely Linda and I enjoy cooking together and I love the PBS program, America's test kitchen. I also love carnitas so when they showed this episode about making carnitas, we had to try it. I don't know how authentic it is but it's easy (though it takes awhile) and sure tastes great. We haven't tried doing the corn that is prepared in this show yet, but it sure looks good. Now I've got to track down the chincharrón prensada.

Carlos

Wow Jarocha...how wonderful to hear from you. It's been ages. Glad you enjoyed Doctora Chelatina as much as we did.

@Carlos...thank goodness I just had dinner...otherwise your and Jarocha's discussion would have sent me running to the...well, not fridge...maybe the telephone to order some Mexican food!

Buen provecho for whenever, and thanks for dropping by Jarocha. We miss you.

Carlos and Judy thanks for the warm words. I've been very busy lately but this week has been great for me.

Carlos, the carnitas are one of my favorite foods ever, especially those made in the style of Michoacán. I'm glad you were able to make them, I'm sure it tasted like it should. I don't doubt you and lovely Linda's cooking skills and how nice that you cook together!

I didn't watch Llena but my sister did so I used to catch an episode every once and a while. I did get to see some of the ones with Dr. Chelatina so I guess there's still many episodes to go before the end of this show since that was before I moved to DF.

I'm thinking of maybe joining the Teresa line if there are plans to recap it. I didn't watch the first 80 or so episodes of that novela but I picked it up once I had moved and got obsessed with it until the end. But I probably won't be able to comment half the time.

Jarocha

Jarocha, thanks for the feedback on chicharron prensados. It sounds like we accidentally prepared them perfectly. They were super yummy but like you say, the hours at the gym, ouch. It's always great to hear from you!

Yes, I did complain to Univision and I sent a complaint to Televisa as well with a "look at what they are doing to your shows" tattle. I have heard nada from both.

Just wanted to add that I think Audrey might be right about the Gelatina gag. That's what I thought when s/he first appeared and it makes sense the way s/he jiggles all over the place.

Karen, I'm so glad to hear you are done with your grading. My sis is a high school French teacher and is up to her ears until tomorrow.

Down here in the Valley they serve carnitas everywhere! We have a favorite restaurant where we get it all the time. It's just Mexican style pulled pork - but they sure know how to do it!

At our favorite spot they serve a kind of gelatinous pig skin kind of thing in little squares with the carnitas that we have come to really appreciate.

Audrey

I want to find that peachy skimpy dress that kristel was wearing can anyone help!!!!!
