Triunfo del Amor #71-72 3/23/11 Stuff Happened, But I Was Distracted By the Cruz and Stripping Priest

Short, sweet and sans snark tonight, folks. Again, I've organized more by plot-lines more than actual order of the episode.

From last night:

  • Cruz sings to Fer. Fer smiles. I swoon for the first time.
  • Vic and María stand off. María sees the-doll-that-trumps-DNA.
I shall begin with the minor players:

Fausto and Eva- "Tenemos que vengarlos" (We have to avenge them!)
  • Eva is concerned about Fausto's growing crush on María. As she tells him to get his emotions in check, Fausto continues to touch the cheek that María touched. (I suspect he will not wash it any time soon. I'm having a Marsha Brady/Davey Jones flashback.)
  • Eva tells Fausto  not to get his panties in a wad about Vic's mistreatment of María. Eva thinks Vic will be a help to them in their plan to avenge his parent's death. Poor Fausto is looking more and more like a pawn to me.
Fer and Cruz- "Por qué le pasó a ella y no a mí?"(Why did it happen to her and not to me?)
  • As Fer was getting on her horse it just took off like the devil was chasing him. Cruz finally rescued her, but her ankle suffered a minor injury.
  • Cruz takes her back to Casa Sandoval and berates himself for letting Fer get hurt. He fears she will never forgive her. (I swoon a second time.)
  • Jimena bad-mouths Cruz. Fer gives her an "eat mierda and die" look.
  • Vic, true to form, wants to fire Cruz. Fer asks Max to intervene. Cruz is given a reprieve, but Vic tells him "one slip up and you are outta here!"
  • Later that night Cruz, in full Charro gear, serenades Fer (I swoon a third time.) Vic sees it, but doesn't go nuts like I thought she would.
  • Oh. Fab serenades her later that night. (I puke the first time.)
Nati and Fabián- "Necesitaba hablar contigo" (I needed to talk to you.)
  • They tell each other that they are just friends. Nati loves Juan Jo. Fab loves Fer. (I puke a second time.)
Napo and Milagros/JuanJo and the bottle/Nati and JuanJo-"¡Es un niño!" (It's a boy!)
  • La viuda de Israel (Israel's widow) comes to visit Milagros and hear all about the resurrection. While there, she goes into labor. Nati knocks on the door and is ushered in. She is to take care of JuanJo while Napo and Milagros go to the hospital.
  • While at the hospital, Israel's widow pants and screams.
  • Napo and Milagros play the part of comic relief. I'm sure they say a lot of funny things, but the surgical masks impede my comprehension.
  • When Nati leaves Juan Jo's bedroom to take the call from the hospital, Juan Jo sneaks into the living room and grabs a bottle (Qué the hell? Why is it still in the house?) He locks himself in the bedroom and drinks the whole bottle.
  • Later in the episode, he has made a near miraculous recovery and he tells Nati to forget about him.
  • Nati says she will wait for him no matter what. (Book smart, yes. Emotionally smart, hell no...and I puke a third time)
  • I'm pretty sure Nati and JuanJo have a theme song. Fab and Nati never did. I am really mad.
Guest Appearance-María Magdalena
  • I thought it was random, but during the episode Vic was talking M. Mag on the phone. If I understood correctly she is now working in Tija and has a new man. She can't wait for Vic to meet him. Vic warns her about being used and abused again.
Now, for the important stuff:

María Desamparada/Embarazada
  • She gets a new job attending to the ladies bathroom at a restaurant. She cleans. She hands out paper towels for tips. She slips, falls and is knocked unconscious as she cleans the mirror.
  • She is discovered by Padre Juan Pablo. Nati had given him the address of María's new job and wanted to assure himself she was ok. He holds her and prays and monologues. Please someone, tell me this reminds you of a famous picture. I thought La Pieta by Michelangelo, but that's not quite it. I know I've seen this tableau before. Heavenly lighting from above.
  • She doesn't lose the baby, but she is woefully lacking in nutrition and she does risk losing the baby which brings us to....
  • Nati begs María to tell Max about the baby.
  • Soberbia, thy name is María Desamparada
Padre Hottie and his Madre-"Qué has hecho?" (What have you done?)
  • Because of María's accident, JP decides to leave the priesthood. He dramatically removes his priestly garb and I am sorry, but I just found it hot. Lord, forgive me I swoon a fourth time (I may have panted a little, too.)
  • Bernarda comes in and sees her son without his robes and flips. She needs him to pray for him she says. "¡Para salvar mi alma!" (To save my soul!...too late, bruja.) She yells that he prefers that bastarda over his own mother. She threatens him, but he says nothing will stop him from helping his daughter.
  • Later he has an interview with the bishop, who grants him a temporary vacation from his vocation so he can help his daughter.
Padre Hottie and his Hija- "Mi madre miente." (My mother lies!)
  • María tells him about her conversation with his mother and how Burnie won't reveal who her mother is, but that she abandoned her blah blah blah.
  • Padre assures her that is not true.
Burnie- This portion of the recap brought to you by the letters B, S and C
  • She confronts Padre Jer.
  • Padre Jer says SHE pushed JP to this decision. He tells Burnie Maria Desamparada needs JP now more than ever.
  • At some point Padre Jer says "I never burned anyone alive" and gets slapped twice for his troubles.
  • Jer begs Burnie to bring herself closer to God and she spit out that she will never help a sinner. They are all to be punished.
  • Later at her house she is flashbacking and spouting the same maniacal, biblical blah blah as always, but this time there is a more sinister air to it all and Eva is worried. She ask Doña Dementa what she's up to. Burnie only replies "Eso es un asunto mío" (That is my business)
Max, pobre Max-
  • Cruz begs him to make María tell him the truth. She needs him now more than ever.
  • Max discovers María's new job was working in the bathroom...and that she had an accident and didn't show up for work.
Max and María
  • Smoochies and love talk
The Cliffhanger
  • Soon after the rent man leaves the apartment (Nati and María are two months behind) Max shows up.
  • He looks pretty mad. "Why didn't you tell me things were so bad?"
Cue the Kayak

Avances
  • Burnie spills the beans about Octavio and lights matches!
  • Vic slaps Max and tells him "María or me" !
  • Is Jimena going to run over María with her car?

Comments:
Juanjo isn't worth it (isn't worth it, isn't worth it)

Vicky finally heard Cruz singing (heard Cruz singing, heard Cruz singing)

Ximeana is a worthless, mean skank (worthless, mean skank...worthless,mean skank)

Burnie is crazy (Burnie is crazy, Burnie is crazy)

Pobre Fausto! (Pobre Fausto, Pobre Fausto)

Ya think they overdid it with the echo effects tonight? LOL

Sara & Anon 207
ROFL (ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm beginning to really like the actor who plays Juan Pablo. And what is up with Maria refusing help - thank goodness Nathi & JP have finally stepped in and forced her to accept some help.

Sara--I puked when Nati expressed her undying love for JuanJo, too! And why did you have to point out the Nati/JuanJo theme song and lack of Nati/Fabian song?? I was hoping to stay in denial for as long as possible, but now it will be impossible when I hear the music.

Thanks for wading through yet another 2 hours of TdA so I don't have to. ;-)

Mariquita--do you remember the JP actor from another novela called Amarte Asi? He played the bad guy Gregorio.

Question: If Teresa is going to be starting on Wednesday at 9, where does that put TDA on the schedule?

Is this why there have been 2-hour sessions for the past several weeks.

Thanks,

Sorry to interrupt but according to the Uni forum this is how the schedule will change:

Eva Luna will stay on at 8pm EST and after it's over it will be replaced by Cuando Me Enamoro.

Teresa will start at 9pm next wednesday

Triunfo del Amor will be moved at 10pm.

Jarocha

Jarocha- Are these EST times? I hope so. If TdA goes to 10 pm CST, there is no way I will be able to keep up with it. I can handle a 9 time slot.

As much as I whine about the two hours, I love this show (love this show love this show love this show) and I want to see it through to the bitter end. I really wish they wouldn't mess with the schedule.

Once they switch the time slot, I assume it will be back to one hour? I can't remember who it was, but someone was bemoaning the fact that if they keep up the two hours, it will end sooner. I don't want this one to end too fast either. I would like to prolong the fun.

OH! And I really fear for the fate of baby M&M. After Ji/Xi talking about how much she resents her baby and how much Maria wants hers, it doesn't seem fair that Maria lose her baby. Sometimes TNs really annoy the stew out of me. lol

Grrr! And...the more I watch it, the more I think the writers have no idea what to do with Fabian. He sure as tootin' better not end up with Fer (*they* don't have a theme song) and it looks like Nati the future geneticist (who can't recognize a shallow gene pool) is going to end up with JuanJo. Right now he just seems to play the part of friend to Max. He really isn't that important to the plot. He *is* one more pretty face...tho not near as pretty as Cruz and JP.

I know I will bring down the wrath of many people when I say that Diego Olivera is IMHO a smidge hotter than FC and waaaay hotter than WL.

Thanks so much for the recap and high lights.

I don't recall a novela with so many episodes in which nothing happens. And two in a row? I'm okay with going back to one and taping it at 10.

Just think of how much atoning Victoria is going to have to do in time. As steep the build-up of her arrogance, etc., as quick her fall into sorrow. I really can't wait to see the good Victoria come out.

I'm going back to read the summaries of EPDA. Seems like we are departing from the script in a couple of areas: I don't recall Juan Pablo's character threatening to quit the priesthood, but it may simply be me.

Sara - Thanks for the recap --- short, sweet, bulleted, just how I need it this a.m. when I'm on a tight schedule. No snark? Are you kidding? It was a hoot.
'Burnie... brought to you by letters B,S,C' --- You had me guffawing at that one!

Fer & Cruz scenes had me smiling in this corner of Viewerville, too.
Awwwwwwwww.......
(best part of this telenovela, too)

I was worried that Vic was going to take a shotgun to the serenading Cruz & Co.. (ref: Val in STuD). Phew! dodged that bullet! (pun intended.)

Burnie is so going to burn in hell forever for hitting a priest, and twice! Even I was shocked.

Why does Fausto's character remind me of Boo Radley?

Fabian reminds me of a young Nic Cage in 'Valley Girl', and later on 'Moonstruck' ---- must be those eyes!

Nice PSA courtesy of Meh-jía on tipping washroom attendants.

Why was MD using Palmolive liquid dish soap to clean a mirror? Don't they have a training session for employees?

Gah! it happened to me! Tried to post and it disappeared. Memo to self: "Copy" post before hitting "Preview" button.

Forgot to say that I loved Sara's comment --- María sees the-doll-that-trumps-DNA. LOL
Shall we call it the llamada de la muñeca?

Doris you are a hoot! Llamada de la muñeca. Lol!

Me again. I hate to admit I've been watching this, but for good reason. Maite and William! LOL

Anyhoo, I have to add Guillermo Garcia Cantu to the small (so far) list of actors who I can't remember ever playing a good guy. From douchebag husband in Tres Mujeres, to douchebag rapist in Fuego en la Sangre, and now douchebag whore in Triunfo. I know someone can help me out with this one. PLEASE tell me he's been a good guy at least once!

Fabulous, Sara! Thank you! I especially loved the puke/swoon motif :)

The Pietà? Absolutely, yes, Padre Hottie and María were deliberately posed in a reverse variation on the theme (which has Mary holding the dead body of Jesus). (Just like the scene parodied on "The Soup" as "Most dramatic shave ever" had the look of -- what? the celebration of a mass?)

Does anyone remember JJ being told about Linda's death? Or are we supposed to assume that such an important moment passed off-camera?

Eva is being portrayed as a despicable human being, kind of a mirror image to Bernie. Poor Fausto! Doris, I can see why he reminds you of Boo Radley!

There was one moment last night when Max was gazing, from a distance, at Cruz while the latter sang his beautiful and melancholy song ... when just briefly, it crossed my mind that a new romance was aborning. A bromance. Nah.

Garcias mucha, Sara

That explains the 2 hours, TDA is moving to 10PM, they didn't want to lose us.

We are whizzing through all the usual TN plots, runaway horse, has Fernanda ever heard WHOA or cho?

Not just one collapse or injury, but 2, Fernanda & María.

Just where does Max think María has been getting money,dumb-ass, your madre fired her & has gotten her fired from every job after. Now she's cleaning toilets?

"Napo and Milagros play the part of comic relief. I'm sure they say a lot of funny things, but the surgical masks impede my comprehension. "—Actually, I don't think any of it was funny; It was darned annoying and way too long. Besides Don Napo (who looks to me like a leprechaun) had his mask down anyways. What's with these tense & painful comic scenes? Pobre de Amita, the doctor should've tossed those clowns out of the delivery room. Rant over. And thank you Sara for yeoman (yeowoman?) service. You more than covered the bases with great style. I like how you organized the plot lines. And I fear for Padre Jér.

Dona Dementa is already slated for hell because of her previous murders and her monstrous hubris.

What is particularly interesting -- and should rouse curiosity in JP -- is that while she claims to have nothing to regret, she still insists she needs to be saved from hell.

Padre Jeronimo had better watch his back and never take tea at the House of Horror. My only confusion at this point is whether her "confession" was before or after she murdered the nun.

I don't believe JP's EPDA counterpart contemplated leaving the priesthood. Not that his mother wouldn't have had a hissy fit, but it wouldn't have been on this scale.

Nati deserves better, but not if she persists in this estupidez. JuanJo needs to be in the Betty Ford Clinic.

Maria E was cowed by Dona Dementa. Max will probably pay her rent until the girls have a source of income. He will also probably head over to Dona Dementa's and give her a piece of his mind.

Sara: ITA about Diego Olivera. In my hypothetical Televisa version of Dark Shadows he would be a wonderful lead vampire.

I don't think Juanjo has even asked about Linda & I don't remember anyone breaking the news about her death. How soon we forget.

Since when is it so easy to take a vacation from the vocation? (love thi,s Sara). The priests I've known who chose to leave went through hell and back and often had to accept excommunication as part of the package.

Thanks for the recap!

I, too, was distracted by Cruz singing. To have a man sing to you so romantic. It would make me fall in love with him quickly. He has quiet a voice and also handsome as well.

Thanks to Variopinta, Anonymous, and Urban Anthropologist to replying to my comments asking for the name of Cruz. Now I know that he is Pablo Montero. I just love his singing. I knew that I seen him around and didn't know about his singing career. I am going to keep on enjoying him while this novela is on.

I see that this novela is getting interesting too with things happening and all.
Have a question or two: Maria doesn't know that Victoria is her long lost mother? Does she know that the Padre is her dad? Who knows he is her dad except psycho-mom who thinks she is God and her right to dish out punishment.

More happy viewing tonight when she is crashed that her son is deciding to step down as a priest.

@doris: Many people use dish soap to clean glass, especially mirrors and windows. It cleans without streaking. I have heard that you mix a little Dawn in a bucket of water and wash the windows that way, and the results are beautiful. I have never personally tried it, but I have seen windows that were washed using Dawn dish soap and it was as if there weren't any windows at all!

Thanks for the great recap. I started watching this TN again and have caught up through all the great recaps. Sara, I'm with you, I think I was missing Diego, who I also find to be hotter than WL. (Sorry WL fans.) I'm right there with you on that stripping of the collar. Holy smoke, with just that black tee on showing his muscles and I love his haair...ok, getting all lathered up at work, not cool.

I'm also in the Nati/Fab camp. Why cast such a cutie as Max's pal if he's not going to wind up with someone. What a waste. I also can't wait for the day they finally decide to "doll up" Nati. She's a sweetie, but her hair drived me batty.

Have a question or two: Maria doesn't know that Victoria is her long lost mother? Does she know that the Padre is her dad? Who knows he is her dad except psycho-mom who thinks she is God and her right to dish out punishment.
*****************************

Maria doesn't know who her parents are. When Victoria got pregnant with Maria, Bernarda threw Vicky out of the house (Vicky was Bernarda's maid/seamstress).

Vicky worked at a sweatshop with Antonieta and took care of baby Vicky. But one day Vicky was walking down the street with Maria (2-3 years old) and a car (driven by Bernarda) ran Vicky down (I think the original intent was to run Maria down). While everyone was attending to Vicky, Maria was wandering the streets lost and the nuns picked her up.

The nuns also found Maria Magdalena wandering around the train tracks. The convent moved to another part of Mexico.

Meanwhile Vicky scoured the convents of Mexico City looking for Maria to no avail.

20 years later, the convent moved back to Mexico City and Maria Desamparada was all grown up, met Max, moved out etc.

Juan Pablo went to look for Maria one more time and the nun told him about Maria Magdalena, who at this time was a prostitute. Juan Pablo told Vicky, who found out Maria Magdalena could sew, so naturally that meant Maria M. was her daughter.

But Bernarda did a DNA test on Maria Magdalena and found out she was not Juan Pablo's daughter. She also found out Maria Magdalena was found wandering around the train tracks. Since Vicky's accident was not near train tracks, Maria M. could not be Vicky's daughter. So she went investigating at the convent and Sor Clementina told her that they also found Maria Desamparada the same day. Bernarda concluded Maria Desamparada was the daughter of Vicky/Juan Pablo and did a DNA test on Maria D. to prove it (under the guise of health tests for the baby).

Bernarda confessed to Juan Pablo in confession that Maria Desamparada was his and Vicky's daughter. But because of the rules of confession, he can't tell Vicky or Maria.

Juan Pablo wants to care for his daughter but Bernarda is not having it. So he threatened to leave the priesthood unless Bernarda told Vicky the truth. Bernarda refuses to tell Vicky the truth and Maria D. just had the accident, so Juan Pablo is taking a vacation from his vocation to care for his daughter.

Paternity secrets list:

Maria Desamparada (secret daughter of Vicky & Juan Pablo...the only 4 people who know of Maria's true origins are Bernarda [who won't tell], Juan Pablo [who can't tell], Padre Jeronimo [who can't tell] and Sor Clementina [who defintely can't tell])

Max Sandoval (son of Osvaldo...or is he????)

Baby Ximena/Max (really Guillermo's kid)

Baby Maria/Max (Max doesn't know he got Maria D. pregnant)

I am trying to remember whether Antonieta knows that JP is the father of Victoria's lost child. She certainly knows about how evil Dona Dementa is.

The light-from-heaven thing typically happens for one of two reasons:

-- Sick/injured person has just died
-- Sick/injured person is being saved.

At least they don't do the Virgen Ex Machina thing in La Rosa de Guadalupe.

Michaelangelo's Pieta has been echoed in many other novelas. Carmen Salinas and Hector Suarez Gomiz were this image in the last weeks of Preciosa and she's done it in others.

We need a scene between Rox and Ximeana about her murdering LindaHo.

Nati needs to wake up to the fact that children of alcoholics often have behavioral disorders. Let's also not forget that she would have to worry all the time about him falling off the wagon.

BTW, drinking that entire bottle of hard liquor in the space of a couple of hours would kill him.

Sara: Fast and funny to boot, amiga! "Soberbia, thy name is María Desamparada." LOL!
Thanks again. BTW, the times were Eastern, so TDA will be at 9PM Central. Hope that clarifies things for you? I saw a listing of 105 total episodios. We're on 79 tonight I think.

Sara wonderful and fantastic recap i'm still LOL thank you so much.

Wait JJ and Nati have their own theme? Since i hit the mute button when he's on what is it 99 bottles of cervesa on the wall?

The Fabian character in EPDA was never around for this long in the story he was written out around 30-40 episodes. I think that little exchange between fab Fabian and Luci maybe a hint to his future mate?

Ok finally the family heard Cruz serenading Fer? I mean where the heck were they when he had done it the other times at night? Then of course here comes Fabian a day late and a dollar short with his serenade ho hum!

Sara you are right Bernie was on Fire last night with the crazy somehow i was expecting the letters to flash across the screen in bright red neon lights B.S.C. right here folks.

The look on Eva's face while she was still ranting was priceless. Eva looked like she had encounter the face of a unnatural unholy evil not to mention a tad bit crazy give or take a few screws loose.

I have to ask who is Boo Radley?

So the other BSC one gives Max a ultimatum either Maria E. or her oh why do they make these multiple choice questions so easy.

Sara: WOWSERS!! Fantastic recap!

Re the time change business: I'm going to use a quote from Carlos' recap for Llena from Friday: I'M PITHED.

I still don't see the need for this shenanigans. Jar has just said that there are 105 capitulos...so, this is moving VERY quickly. I don't think I have ever felt so rushed through a TN as I have this one. All for what? To see "Teresa"?! Sorry, the cast of actors simply does not interest me...not in the least.

Will echo everyone's sentiments that the best scenes for me last night ALL involved Padre JP! Oh. my. word. When that man took off his priestly vestments...it was FANTASTIC! His beautiful eyes (and those of Fabian) are just about to do me in! I've been a Colunga fan for so long, but Diego is just about ready to pass him on the homestretch to the wire. We need to see MORE of him...are you reading us here, Televisa/Uni?!

...and Cruz...another 'oh my'! I almost felt tears in my eyes just looking at him and feeling the tenderness with which he sang that song.

...and another shout out to Cruz for trying to put some sense into Max! Where, exactly, did Max think that Maria E was getting the money to live? WHERE?!

I rather resent this 'rush through' of this TN. I don't like it and I am PITHED.

Gracias, Sara...simply wonderful!

Susanita

some thoughts:
I feel like I've already seen Teresa with all those avances!

JJ quote "yo ya no valo dana" (I am no longer worth anything). At least someone noticed!!

Maria's baby must be growing horns by now, malnourished in the first trimester and a mother that spends all her time sad, crying and desperate- not good for a bambino!

I liked the scene where everyone gathered around Fer as if a sprain was life threatening. My son had a sprain last week I told him to put ice on it, gave him an ACE bandage and went back to work!

Great recap. I thought it was super-entertaining.

I totally agree about Padre Hottie, too. Suh. Woon. His little strip show will keep me warm in my cold office all day.

I wonder if Nati's attracted to JJ because she's such a mother hen. She always wants to be taking care of everyone. What says "eternally in need of care" more than an alcoholic with the mental power of a dim child with head trauma?

Did Fabian forget that he was supposed to be giving the ladies the help Max didn't think Maria would accept directly from him? But also, how did they get two months behind on rent already? Has it been that long since Maria was fired?

"Soberbia, thy name is María Desamparada." LOL!

**********************

I think a while back Padre JP warned Maria D. about soberbia being a sin.

Does Vicky know that Fer dumped Scuzz Boy?

"Maria's baby must be growing horns by now, malnourished in the first trimester and a mother that spends all her time sad, crying and desperate- not good for a bambino!"

Yeah, but Ximeana's baby has been washed in Gui perversion and will come out drunk, high and deaf from a mother that pops pills, drinks and screams all day.

Ruby said...

Mariquita--do you remember the JP actor from another novela called Amarte Asi? He played the bad guy Gregorio.
******************

Ruby: No, I don't recall him as this is the first TN I've really gotten into. I watched 3 weeks of another TN about 4 years ago. I don't even remember the name of it. Just that it was in a beautiful exotic location - looked like a caribbean estate. But I'm sure there was a plot about someone losing a child or not knowing their child survived.

Fausto does remind me of Boo Radley, too!

Blusamarai: Boo Radley is a character from the book, To Kill a Mockingbird. He's a kind soul who is a recluse with his parents. He saves the main character. I keep expecting that Fausto is going to be mobbed when he is skulking around the barrio.

I also really like Fabian as a potential novio to Nati. Nati is just a classic "caretaker" who isn't attracted to anyone who doesn't NEED her. If Fab was supposed to help Maria & Nati for Max, he really dropped the ball.

I thought Cruz told Max that Maria es embarazada. I can tell I understand more, especially as I learn more grammar, but I miss so much! Sara - thanks for recapping for us!

Thanks for your recap Sara. You didn't leave out snark and it was naturally embedded in your comments.

I'm really vexed about hte Nathi/JJ thing. If it wouldn't kill Millie, he needs to die again (or go someplace far, far away). While I can understand he's a popular "soccer" player, he can't act and isn't that easy on the eyes. He needs to have a less prominent role. I like Vivi's comment from the other day, he needs to be catatonic and placed in a home.

Also thanks NovelaMaven for your wonderful recaps!

Much like the secret of the confessional, secrets amongst friends are also sacred in tns, so Cruz didn't come right out and say Maria D was preggers- he just stressed how much she needed Max's help and support. I still don't think Max has a clue that she could be pregnant, despite all the many clues and hints.

Yes, Fabian, in all his mooning over Fer, has fallen down on the job of helping Nati and Maria. Shame on him. And shame on both him and Nati for not seeing what a perfect match they are and how wrong their respective crushes are for them.

I don't think anyone has told JuanJo about Linda yet. They're probably scared of how he'll react, although I don't see how he could be in worse shape than he is now.

Vicky once again showed her extreme stupidity. An orphan named Maria suddenly has an immediate reaction to her missing daughter Maria's doll and wants to say something about it. What does Vicky do? She cuts her off, won't let her say anything, and insults her. I really can't wait for her to find out Maria D is her daughter, and for Maria to throw her "mi hijas" back in her face.

ITA about the hotness of Padre JP removing his collar and strutting around in his tight black t and turtleneck. My organization is housed in the same building as a dorm for young priests. There are one or two of them that are extremely hot. I'm not Catholic, but I do feel very guilty about some of the thoughts that have crossed my mind about these hottie priests... :)

Vivi in DC - Major guffawing here over your last sentence! BuaHahahaaaaa

word verification: anatoti
(rhymes with Padre Hottie!)

Mariquita -- well then, welcome to TN and hope you're enjoying this one.

But I don't think we'll ever figure out what that TN you watched back in the day is about: "Just that it was in a beautiful exotic location - looked like a caribbean estate. But I'm sure there was a plot about someone losing a child or not knowing their child survived."

Basically the plot/location of every other TN on TV. ;-)

Who is everyone referring to for "Dona Dementa"? Sorry, I must've missed when you guys came up with that one!

Sara,

"Short, sweet and sans snark tonight..."

Short... granted... sweet... definitely ... sans snark?... no way.

Loved it, Sara... thanks.

I thought the delivery room scene was funny, but Napo's reaction when Israel's widow went into labor was hilarious.

Doris,

"llamada de la muñeca"

excellent.

and,

"Why does Fausto's character remind me of Boo Radley?"

One of my patients reminds me of Boo Radley. When I had him in the hospital, I consulted a cardiologist and introduced my patient to him as... Mr. Radley. My nurse almost passed out, but managed to recover and correct me.

From yesterday, Susanita, I'm looking forward to tour recap next week.

Carlos

Ay, Carloa! Gracias por su apoyo!! I hope you noticed I am pithed about the time change for this TN. As for your very own Boo Radley patient, I can see the scene right now! I cannot stop laughing!

UA: What do you mean 'hypothetical' Dark Shadows?! I am counting on you to bring this marvelous idea of yours to fruition!! I so agree...Diego will be the perfect vampire and I would WILLINGLY be his first victim!!

So...do we know for sure the final number of capitulos? Jar had mentioned 105 and I believe that Jarocha mentioned 150.

I, for one, am simply not ready for the fairy tale to end!

Susanita

Pobresito Carlos...I misspelled your name! You know that my fingers were typing faster than the brain was working. :))

Susanita

Susanita
Mexico is on 107 now.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed it. These two hour eps have been killer!

Like Susanita, I was PITHED to find out that TdA was moving to the 9(CST) time slot. I'm getting over it. I guess I should just be glad to be back to the hour long episodes. I guess I can use the 8(CST) time slot to watch my PVaA recordings. I'm mainly annoyed that Univision has messed with the scheduling so much.

I really love this show, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to spend all my free time wrapped up in it.

Hey! I just read on the telenovela-world forum that Mejia said that Cesar Evora would join the cast.

Truth or Rumor?

Interesting.

Vario: Gracias!!!

Sara: Cesar Evora! That would be WONDERFUL! The man with the dream voice...I LOVE his voice. Oh my...between Padre JP's beautiful eyes (and bod) and Cesar's voice and Levy's lips...I will feel like I have died and gone to heaven!!!

Thanks for the recap! Things are heating up! What are everyone's thoughts on Maria's new hair-do? I thought it was cute at first, but it's starting to get a little blah.

Happy to hear they won't be sticking with the two-hour time slot...sounds like we'll be able to enjoy TDA for a little longer at least. And I can't imagine that they'll stop before 150 episodes...it just seems like we have so far to go! Maria's not even showing yet.

I have to say, I didn't start off being a fan of Fer and Cruz because she is so bratty, but now that she's changing her ways I'm starting to love them together! And they better pair Fabian and Nati together soon. Together they are cute, but when they are separately off fauning over their stupid crushes they become a little annoying...

We have at least one novela rule left, I don't remember anyone being in jail for sth they didn't do..

Super Sara treatment of another episode. Very late checking out the comments, but many laughs! Gracias a todos!
Diego Olivera/Padre Hottie is looking quite good these days. I'll be happy to see this go back to one hour.

Ruby: Why doesn't that surprise me? Actually, I'm surprised that TdA isn't full of exotic, lush caribbean estates.

Mariquita -- yeah, too bad this one takes place in Mexico, DF. In the last WL novela, Sortilegio, their estate was in Merida on the Yucatan peninsula so we got some of that Caribbean feel.

Hey that old novela you saw didn't happen to have Victoria Ruffo in it also and took place on a banana plantation, did it?

P.S. Time for WL to get a haircut, and is anyone else really bothered by the fact that Max and Maria are besando-ing and haciendo amor-ing all over the place even though he's married to someone else. I mean, sure, he doesn't love her, blah blah blah, but still, he's MARRIED!

Ruby: I did some investigating and it was Heridas de Amor. I only recognize the guy from Eva Luna also being on Heridas de Amor.

DH made a comment tonight that all Max & Maria do is mash their faces together.
