Llena de Amor #161 (Mex. 184-185) Fri 4/1/11 Justice

Part 1 I'm Not a Puppy You Bought

At the subasta, a giant cockroach drops from the rafters, removes Fedra's tiara, and ascends into the heavens as Comisario Tejada and Inspector Brandon look skyward with pistols drawn firing at the dark insect. The super-roach is of course

el Lirio de Plata.

Urging the helpless police to capture the giant bug is none other than Emanuel Ruiz y de Teresa who... hey wait just a stinkin' minute isn't he

el Lirio de Plata?

......and thus begin tonight's dissected episodes of Llena de Amor . Let's see if Dr. Carlos can reassemble the severed parts (without the aid of any aspirants to Telenirvana as described by Maggie in her solicitation for recapping volunteers) into a semi-coherent Frankenovela for your amusement.

Meintras tanto, a rather tasty looking Gretel is entertaining a hunky guest in her bedroom and it ain't Oliver. Cripes! It's that walking talking chunk of dog dropping, Alfredo. Has she lost her everlovin' mind? Oh, that's right... she's CRAZEEE! It's back to the wine cellar with you young lady.

She is very seductive and he is clearly smitten and... Well thank goodness... it's a sting operation. Somehow Oliver and Delicia have convinced Gretel to help them entrap that scum. They are in another room with that little buzzard-puke, Axjólio, watching Gretel ensnare Alfredo with her charm (which is nicely displayed, I might add) on a video monitor. Excellent! Of course Axel, who looks like something the cat coughed up, is skeptical. Oliver grabs him and sets him down in front of the monitor so that he can watch and learn. Alfredo leaps into the bed, pulls down his tanktop and pats his pec as we try to swallow back the vomit welling up in our collective throat. The years in the wine cellar must seem like Spring break compared to what Gretel is facing at this moment, but let's not forget, she is a journalist and will suffer to get her story. She even touches him... GACK!... Well... that's why Dios invented soap, but Delicia is disgusted. Oliver encourages her to remain strong.

Gretel pushes him back and he quickly sniffs his armpit and wonders, "Should I have used Right Guard?" She says that her last lover was the worst kind of traitor. Back in the control room, Oliver objects. Alfredo kisses his bicep. Gretel closes in again "I want my next novio to be faithful (fiel). What about you and the servant girl?" It's wakeup time for Axjólio. Alfredo spills the soup. He tells her of Delicia's drugging by Fedra and the job he carried out for Axel's mom. Axel is stunned. Delicia glares at Axel. I don't detect forgiveness in her eyes.

Folks mill about the stage where

el Lirio de Plata

has just relieved la Reina de la Noche of her recently acquired coronet. Lo is relieved. No way is he going to pay a cool million for a stolen tiara. Mauricio is livid... no... actually he is still a sickly shade of orange, but he's very angry. Fedra mourns the loss. Kristel finds it, "shocking!" Muñeca wonders how

el Lirio de Plata

could be responsible with youknowwho still in the room. Fidel doesn't have the foggiest idea. Ilitia complains to Emanuel as Victoria suddenly thinks of something that she must do to help and hurries away leaving Jorge with Jesús en su boca.

*Alfredo reveals everything to a fascinated (and fascinating) Gretel. The drugging, the photos, the graffiti on Dee's back. Axel realizes his stupidity, but waaay too late. Delicia spurns his pleas for forgiveness and sadly kicks his sorry butt out. Quiet justice.

A self-satisfied Alfredo continues to gloat and settles in for some sweet lovin' from the sultry Gretel. She moistens her lips, gives him a wanton hungry look, asks if he'd like for her to disrobe, and reaches into the cleft between her billowing globes to reveal.... a microphone. Gotcha!

WTF! Her seductive smile contorts into that angry grimace that we've come to know as the face of Gretel, she reaches way back, and then delivers a slap that causes cheers to erupt across this land. Not so quiet justice.

They are joined by Delicia who is seething. She delivers her own petite but powerful punch. Next!

Gretel orders him out and just as it looks as though he has plans to rape them both reaching to unfasten his belt... heeere's Oliver! Close behind is Axjólio who delivers a right cross to the chin. OK... warranted, but once again, too little... too late. Run along sonny, we girls have it under control.

Oliver ejects Alfredo, leaving a truly contrite and miserable Axel (accompanied by his own creepy clumsy guitar strumming in the background) who drops to his knees and earnestly pleads for forgiveness... nopis! Well, actually, she forgives him, "from the depth of my soul," but...

"I. Want. A. Divorce."

Anyone want mercy for Axel? Me neither.

Vicky leads

el Lirio de Plata

into the basement and stashes him in a cabinet. Really? Is that a good choice?
She drops down behind a large cardboard box. Really? Is that a good choice?
Tejeda and Moreno hurry in with pistols drawn and quickly flush out Vicky. As she stands up, she tugs down the hem of the clingy knit dress which is perhaps a size too small. Chocolates? The cops try to send her on her way but she lingers and denies that she was helping

el Lirio de Plata

but her worried eyes linger a bit too long on the cabinet.

Looking dim for José Maria. A Dr. are poised with defibrillator paddles over his bared chest. Pop! As a grieving Letty observes. She doesn't want him to die. Another Dr. assures her that he is in good hands.

Vicky has plastered herself to the cabinet doors removing all doubt. Brandon removes her and he and Tejeda fill the cabinet with lead. Yikes! This annoys Vicky so she pulls Brandon's hair. He ushers her from the basement as Tejeda kicks the cabinet open...

It's a Festivus miracle! EMPTY!

*At the hospital, more pops of the defibrillator. Nada. The Dr. with Netty declares that it looks like it's over. Netty sends a telepathic message to the lifeless José M, "You have to live, your son needs you." Monitors... flatline.

Suddenly the monitor comes to life. J M gasps.

It's another Festivus miracle!

Brandon returns Vicky to Jorge. "They killed ...

el Lirio de Plata,"

she wails. Tejeda huffs and puffs as he jogs up and announces, "He escaped!" Vicky rejoices. Brandon bites his fist. We all wonder, "How the heck did he do that?" Out of sight Eman notices that while Vicky wants nothing to do with him, she seems quite taken by... yes... sigh...

el Lirio de Plata.

He strolls out and expects an apology from Brandon. Brandon is sorry. Cops are human. They make mistakes. Eman was their best suspect. They shake hands.

*Doris is departing with a suitcase. Gladiola inquires. Yep, she's going on a trip with Andre. Gladiola is unhappy and so am I... Next!

Fidel, Benigno, and Eman return to la Buena Vida, rejoicing over a successful operation, though Fidel and Benigno are wondering, "Who was that masked man?" They are joined by

el Lirio de Plata.

A perfect caper. The tiara will help lots of sick kids. The alternate unmasks and we see... Emiliano! He's grinning from ear to ear with jauntily tousled hair.

*At the police station, Victoria (or maybe it's Marianela... who cares?) chews on Brandon. Jorge observes that Mari is smitten. Next!

Back to the celebration. Eman thanks his dad. Emiliano admits that it's the most fun he's had in years. Emil is Eman's hero and vice versa. Emiliano gives credit to Vicky for aiding him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Emiliano admits that he needs to get in shape as his back reminds him of his age. Huggies. Smiles. Tequila!

"¡Salud!" Emiliano coughs and chokes a bit and based on his reaction and that of the others, it looks like perhaps real Tequila was slipped into this scene. Excellent.

*Gladiola pleads with Doris. Doris gives her (and us) a lecture about HIV. Doris loves Andre. Off she goes. Consuelo consoles.
Oliver and Gretel return the equipment they borrowed for the sting to the police station. They have not made up, but not to worry. They are promptly arrested by Brandon for an improper unauthorized use of police equipment. Two other officers cuff them and lead them to a cell. Oliver and Brandon exchange conspiratorial smiles.

*At Netty's Nest, Vicky returns and is accosted by a (you've got to be kidding me!) a mini-

el Lirio de Plata

brandishing a gun.

el Lirio de Plata

abhors firearms, so we know that this one is a fake. Cute, but clearly a fake. He unmasks... hey it's... Javi!
Who would have guessed? Even the bitter Vicky is charmed. He asks her if she really knows the real thing. She does. He asks her to deliver a message the next time she sees him. He wants to meet and partner-up with him. Consuelo joins them and sends Javi off. Vicky is genuinely concerned and tells her that she knows someone who will help Javi. Consuelo says no thanks. Brandon is going to help. Well excuuuse me!

Gretel's as mad as a wet hen. She and Oliver are tossed into the same cell. Jail over-crowding. Oliver goes to work. After a few exchanged insults he works that old Oliver charm. She can't resist those dark pleading eyes. Beso!

*Doris arrives at Andre's place and they're set to go, but... here's Jacki.

Gretel is still resisting but... more Oliver charm... she's cracking.

*Doris leaves Jacki and Andre alone to iron out there differences. Jacki wants to resume her relationship with Andre. He supports her, but they can't be a pair. He loves Doris. Yikes! Por favor! Let these two be together!

Gretel's reluctant again. More Oliver oil. He opens his heart. She resists, "¡Te amo, te amo, te amo!" She cracks as her feelings for him boil up and over. Gretel is basically a lusty lass. We have ignition!

*The Dr. is explaining the gravity of Chemo's condition. His heart is bad. He had an infarto (Heh, heh, the Dr. said infarto) and so he's worse. Basically, José Maria shouldn't start any thick books or buy any green bananas. Netty grieves. As she approaches his bed he groans, "Hijo. Emanuel." Netty struggles with what she knows.

At la Buena Noche the party is on. Tequila and male bonding. Emanuel, Emiliano, Benigno, and Fidel celebrate. Emanuel crowns Benigno with the tiara. E&E are both proud. Haven't you boys had enough to drink?

*Emil asks about Chema, "Doesn't he work here?" No, Eman let him go when he learned that he had murdered his grand parents. "For the best," Emiliano observes.

*At José Maria's bedside, Netty realizes what she must do and resolutely exits.

*Sipping coffee Paula is distraught to learn that her daughter has been locked up, but Delicia hastens to reassure her that it's a good thing. Then Paula wants to know why Delicia looks so sad. Hasn't the matter of the photos been resolved? The reason for the sad look strolls in and asks to be alone with his wife (not for much longer if we have anything to say about it, Buster). He gives her a wan, pleading look.

Fedra, accompanied by Bernie, enter Chepa's room. Fedra's distraught as her girls are struggling to jump ship. It's more than she can take. She sends Bernardo for something... "...with alcohol, por favor." Hmmm, with Bernardo gone, she seems to recover her strength... she removes the oxygen cannula to make him more comfortable. Look, she's going to fluff his pillow... awwww... Yikes! She puts it over his face, "¡Hasta nunca, José Maria Sevilla!"

Part 2 Marianela Is a Total Idiot

She holds the pillow over his face as she berates the unconscious sea captain. This little bedside tableau is interrupted by Netty who has returned. Netty rushes in shouting at Fedra to stop. Fedra shushes her, "¡Callate!" This is a hospital, imbecile!" They struggle... boy, do they ever struggle. They shout. They insult.Speaking of struggle, Fedra's girls, loosely restrained, struggle to make an escape. Is it getting hot in here? You'll excuse me as I rewind.

Axjólia grovels and bleats. You pitiful little swinelet. Have some dignity at least. She calmly tells him, "You broke my heart... I. Want. A. Divorce." He pleads and admits that he made a mistake. You think? You really think? She reminds him of that final insult when he took her to his bed. She's not calm anymore as she tells him of her plans for the future. The main thing is... he's not in it. She leaves him to wallow in self-pity. His freaky hair looks even more ridiculous now. Go practice your guitar, kid. You need the practice.

Round two in Chema's room. Ah heck, Bernardo shows up. Fedra seeks solace. Letty tattles. Bernie knows Fedra. José M comes to and tells Netty that he needs her now more than ever. Fedra snatches the pillow from Netty and once more pounces on Chema. Bernie peels her off. An attentive Netty repositions the nasal cannula and orders Fedra out. Bernardo escorts Fedra out.

*Doris has returned home. Gladiola is ... um... glad, but supportive. Doris is sad but strong.

It's morning. Fedra has changed clothes (boooo!) and is wearing a more modest (boooo!) but attractive black dress which exposes (yey!) her right shoulder.Seated on the patio, she seethes over her orange juice. She tells Bernardo that she wants Chema dead. Bernie wants her to leave him alone. "I want him dead!" Emanuel wonders who she wants dead as he strolls up and joins the conversation. Fedra explains. Her lips are moving so we know that she is lying. José Maria is a very dangerous assassin. Emanuel tells her that he knows that José Maria is his real father but that she shouldn't fret. He has severed all ties with José Maria. Bernardo is disappointed in Eman. "Thanks to you, my captain is at death's door." Fedra focuses her deathray vision on Bernardo.

*It's morning. Snuggled on a narrow cot in a rather spacious jail cell, Oliver kisses the cheek of a contentedly slumbering Gretel. She opens her eyes and smiles. Looks as though things are alright between these two. Marianela joins them... well she walks up to their cell. She starts to explain the events of the night before but is joined by Brandon. He tells of how this lockup of the snuggle bunnies was to help his chum Oliver reconcile with Gretel. Gretel is actually cool with that and looks adoringly at Oliver as she tells Marianela not to be angry with Brandon, because thanks to him, "I'm the happiest woman." Brandon opens the cell to release the lovebirds and offers Mari a ride home, "We need to talk."

Oliver says, "Well lets get dressed." Gretel instead closes the cell door, smiles and says, "Oliver Gonzales, you are arrested for an assault on my heart. Therefore, don't leave. I want a couple of more hours locked up with you."

Eman is shaken by Bernardo's revelation,"No puede ser." He asks where he is, but Fedra objects. Bernardo stands up to her and encourages Emanuel to go see his father. Fedra expands her lie, telling Eman that her father caught José M raping her after he had beaten her, then the yacht caught fire... Eman interrupts her story as Bernie looks on appalled. Eman does not want to be manipulated anymore. He doesn't know what he's going to do, but it will be his decision. He leaves. Fedra smacks Bernardo.

Axel pleads and begs, then tells Dee that he will not permit her to divorce him. She tells him, "Axel, I'm not a puppy that you bought and can do whatever amuses you. I'm a person who feels and suffers." He takes her hand, "Mi amor...," She swats it away, "¡Suéltalo!" He tells her that he has asked forgiveness a thousand ways, "What more do you want me to do?" She tells him to get on with his life as she picks up the pieces of hers. She thanks him for the lesson. Now all she needs is a lawyer.

Eman arrives in José M's room and Netty fills him in. She tells him that his days are numbered. Eman thinks for a moment and then instructs Netty not to tell JM that he was here. He leaves.

Brandon and Mari stealthily approach the morbid manse. She needs to enter undetected or risk exposing her masquerade. He warns her that it's risky. Not to worry, eLdP has taught her the utility of windows. He tells her that she can deny all she wants, but he knows that she is in love with eLdP. Nevertheless she denies it and tells him that she will never forgive him if he harms eLdP. He assures her that one day he will capture him and put him away. Ilitia joins them, "What's going on here?

*Netty tries to encourage JM and even reveals that Emanuel came to visit but likely will not return. He pleads with her to help him gain Eman's love... just as Emiliano makes an appearance and locks eyes with Netty.

Ilitia requests that if Vicky wants to talk with the whale, do it away from here. She doesn't want to see Vicky. Turning to Brandon, she asks if he too is bewitched by this unsalted leg of Serrano ham. Vicky tells her that she should be relieved since it directs her attention away from Eman. Vicky leaves Brandon to cope with Ilitia. Brandon tells her to be careful how she speaks about his future wife. Ilitia glare

JM and Emi engage in an interesting pithing contest since JM is flat of his back with an oxygen tube in his nose... dying. "Netty is mine, she's been here with me all night..." Netty stammers that it's no more than she'd do for anyone else alone in the world under the same circumstance. "I'm not alone, I've got you." They compare the Hells that they've each inhabited for the last 28 years. JM... prison. Emi... Fedra. Emi wins.

Emi announces that he'll soon be free to be with the woman he loves. Netty weakly smiles but moves closer to Emi.

Ilitia asks Brandon if he's sure that Vicky is what he wants. After all she's had Emanuel and Jorge and eLdP. "Should I go on? Sould I add your name to the list? Because nothing surprises me." He reminds her, "You let me into your bed, or have you forgotten?" "That's very different." Brandon tells her that they're talking about betrayal and she betrayed Eman. She asks if that is what he really wants and he assures her that it is.This pleasant discussion is terminated by the approach of our chunky cherub. "¡Hola, Brandon!" Big hug for , "¡Mi Gordita!" Ilitia tells her that she wants to talk to her and Victoria.

Andre arrives at the pensión looking for Doris but finds Gladiola. Doris isn't there but Gladiola wants to talk to Andre. She tells him that Doris has shed many tears over him. He explains that he's sick and has been lashing out. Doris treated him well and thanks to her, he's still alive. He is in love with Doris. She tells him that if indeed he is in love with Doris, "... then leave her alone."

*At the agency dressing room, Doris is joined by a refreshed Jacki who announces that she and Andre have made up. She tells Doris, "Andre es mio." I say let her have him. Doris, however seems willing to fight for her love. Jacki wants Doris to do her job and do her make up for her.

Ilitia is sitting on the patio with Mari and Brandon. She wants to speak to both Mari and Vicky... together. They spar. "Vicky left." "No, I saw her in the Garden with Brandon." and on and on... Ilitia then tells Mari that Brandon is planning to marry Vicky, Mari's thrilled. Ilitia then tells hr of Vicky's conquests, including Jorge... Mari's crushed. Now she'll have to dump Jorge... leaving the door open for Emanuel... and with poor Ilitia... prenant... Brandon leads Mari away as they exchange smirks and snickers...

Marianela 1 Ilitia 0

*Javi has a headache. Consuelo escorts him to the sofa and offers to go get him some medicine at the pharmacy. He offers to go along. She leaves him alone, but not for long because he is joined by

"¡El Lirio de Plata!"

*JoséM contemplates his situation and vows to fight for Emanuel and Letty... ummm... if you say so.

In the boardroom Emiliano and Letty await Licenciado Pacheco who arrives with papers. Emiliano announces to her that he is signing over everything he owns to her. Pacheco nods in affirmation then looks for the donuts. OK, I added that last bit.

*Javi tells eLdP that he has the very same outfit, "Hey, I'll show you." "No, wait, I only have a little time." He has Javi sit and joins him on the sofa. He's heard that Javi is sick but very brave. He's going to help. They fist bump and He gives Javi the briefcase full of money for his operation.

Ilitia is angry with Mari and with herself. Nereida escorts Gladiola onto the patio. "We need to talk." Ilitia tells her that she is not accustomed to talking to people like her. Then why is she messing with her son, Brandon. Actually, Gladiola understands perfectly.

Mari and Brandon on the street. She tells him that she knows that he loves Ilitia and he tells her that he's certain that she loves Emanuel Ruiz y de Teresa, but should give him a chance. He knows they could be very happy together. A man in black exits the building across the street and climbs onto a motorcycle. Mari spots him and then proving once and for all that she is a total idiot exclaims, "He's alive! He's OK! Nothing happened!" Drawing and pointing his pistol,Brandon completes the thought,

"¡El Lirio de Plata!"

Finally... justice for Delicia... very... delicious. My title for part 1 was actually said by our little sweety in part 2, but I thought it appropriate for part 1. The title for part two had to be said by someone.

Carlos

Carlos,

Axjolio. Very clever, funny and right on the mark. He got his just desserts. There was indeed justice for Delicia who deserves much better. I am SO glad she didn't perdon him.

Gretel and Oliver are so good together.

You outdid yourself. Thanks

OOPS! I just remembered she did pardon him. That really was too good for him, but at least she didn't go back to him.

Totally enjoyed the cap, thanks, Carlos! I am soooo glad Delicia kicked that good for nothing Axhole to the curb: he deserved to be slugged just like that Andre scum, or whatever his name is. Ugh! And couldn't agree more: "Mari spots him and then proving once and for all that she is a total idiot. . ." she busts eLdP! Que the hell?! IDIOTA!! indeed. Anybody know of if any of the upcoming shows are promising with leads who are not annoying, self-righteous and whiney?

Just waiting for Fedra and Low to get there's.

Khalilah

Thanks a lot, Carlos. I came in to work today, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the recap had been posted, and a glorious recap it was, indeed. I really enjoyed this episode.

Well, Emiliano was the copycat, after all. I knew about Chema’s chest pains, but I thought he might be written as the culprit because he seemed in the past to recover miraculously from his sickness to protect some damsel in distress. Obvious hole in script: How can Emiliano be smart enough to realize his son is el Lirio de Plata, but is completely clueless relating to everything else?

I thought the funniest scene of the evening featured Netty and Fedra: Fedra telling Netty to lower her voice so she could suffocate Chema undisturbed, and Netty, who is outclassed by at least six inches and thirty pounds, holding her own against Fedra. Hilarious! I wonder how many takes they had to do to keep them from laughing through the entire thing.

As for Gretel and Oliver, I know that this telenovela has satisfied its pregnancy quota, but I would think our two bunnyrabbits would be expecting a bunny by now with all their carryings on. Hmmm . . .

Hooray for Delicia’s dismissal of Axel. Her speech was the best-written of the episode. She was doing fine before him, and will do better without him. She spelled it out without bitterness, so our joven couldn’t be confused. I’m not looking forward to his whining-and-singing act for the rest of the show, though.

As for Doris and Andre, I know the writers wanted this to be romantic, but Andre’s ignoring her throughout the entire novella shows that just doesn’t want to be alone.

As for Ilitia, I’m not looking forward to the transformation to nice girl. She’s not accustomed to talking to “people like them” but said “people” were the only thing keeping her from losing her baby?! Ugh. What a waste of high-quality hair extensions and pretty dresses.

Have a great weekend, all.

-Alison

Hi Laura and Khalilah. Thanks. I thought that I might have have treated Axel too harshly but I am still sooo put off by his disgusting behavior. Now he wants her back? I think at one point during the sting, he told Dee that he had forgiven her so why doesn't she forgive him? ¿Qué? I love the way she calmly handled the whole thing.

Hurrah for Gretel and Oliver. Even when they're on the outs they make quite a team.

Carlos

Allison, we posted about the same time. Thanks. I agree that Fedra ad Netty's fight was hilarious. Even as Bernardo had broken the fighting up, Fedra reached behind her to push the pillow into Chema's face again.

I'm a big Ilitia booster, but she sometimes makes it so difficult. Her attitude with Gladiola (one of those people) is an example.

Carlos

LOL Carlos! Your last line still has me chuckling. Mari IS an idiot.
"Really? Is that a good choice?"

I'm going to go back and watch the scenes of Dee saying buh-bye! to Axel. That was most satisfying. And it's fine with me that she has forgiven him. Holding on to resentment would only hurt her, and her indiffernce is way worse than her anger would be. Go Dee! :)

Awesome recap and thanks for adding the deleted scenes Carlos. So when did Emil find out that Eman is El Lirio and went all gung ho to being a decoy for him. I thought he was all against the thought of his son being a criminal. I guess I'll have to adjust my beanie for that.

Eman sure was cold with JM. Does he want him to die? Why bother coming to the hospital to see about him if he wants nothing to do with him and who are the grandparents Eman keeps saying JM supposedly killed?

Glad that Delicia kicked Axel to the curb. He doesn't deserve her and I hope she doesn't take him back.

Oliver and Gretel's reunion was great.

Why didn't Brandon arrest MariVicky for aiding and abetting a criminal? Sloppy writing methinks.

Shameless plug:
Last Wednesday a new telenovela started at 9pm—Teresa. I’m sure most of you have seen the ads, as Uni has been advertising the heck out of it the last few weeks. I’ve heard some people were turned off by the idea of a bad girl heroine. Forget the ads. That’s just sensationalism. Yes, Teresa is not a “good girl.” She is no saint, nor a martyr, as our usual tn heroines tend to be. But here’s what you do get: A heroine who is whip smart, intelligent, takes crap from no one, ambitious, and clever. There are no star crossed lovers being kept apart by bad, evil people. But our heroine has two very handsome love interests. So far the writing and acting are excellent, and we are all on the edge of our seats to see what our plucky heroine will do next.

The problem: We have NO recappers for this show. That’s right, 0. The first few episodes were recapped with screenshots from temporary recappers-- Aribeth and Jeri, fresh from duty from their Insomniacs Club midnight recapping duties on LVO. These ladies deserve a break. For those of you bored with Herederos del Monte on Telemundo at 9, Teresa is a more exciting option. For any of you Eva Luna and Llena de Amor recappers who will be free to recap again when your shows end in the next few weeks, please consider recapping Teresa and contact Melinama. For any folks who want to try recapping for the first time, give it a try! You’ll be great! For any others looking for a quality tn that’s a little different from the norm, join us! We’d love to have more folks join the discussion on the character and motivations of this interesting (gasp!) heroine.

Carlos, thank you for another poetic recap.

Delicia is one class act! She forgives Axjolio but wants a divorce and never once raises her voice.

The "Family" thinks Fedra is Fedra Curiel and not Juana Whatever, the sailors favorite ho. Therefore, she tells everyone about the explosion and the death of her parents (Curiels) a/k/a Eman's grandparents. I think that is correct.

All the bunny hopping Gretel and Oliver do I too am surprised she is not pregnant.

Poor Doris, I don't think Andre has changed at all. She deserves better.

Poor Glad, she has two messed up kids. Brandon in love with Itilia and Doris with Andre.

Chema is really tough to live through Fedra and her pillow. I have a feeling Bernardo is going to be the one to off Fedra. I still do not understand his total devotion to Chema but it is there and he is getting really tired of her and her antics.

They announced that this would end on the l8th. Do we know what will replace it?

Rosemary

Carlos!!! "Festivus miracle" and "Billowing globes" Ay, hombre!!! PERFECTO!

This has been one very confusing TN for me. For the life of me, I still don't have a clue what Mari/Vicky is thinking.

Gracias, dear Carlos!!!

Susanita

To our hard working and talented recappers: i am a frequent lurker who has been enjoying the fruits of your labors lo these many months, and am willing to help with some of the double duty. I tried to use the 'email' link in blogger for contact, but it automatically opens an email program i don't use, and i don't know how to get around that.
anyhoodle, i can do one or two halfsies (i.e. a full episode from the interwebs) next week. i will do whatever day (or 2) emails me first. hopefully you can use the email button mode successfully than i can :-)

Carlos, I knew by the recap it was you writing. I didn't even have to see your name at the end. Dude, what do you see in Fedra? Her outfit in the hospital was trashy to say the least and a woman of her age shouldn't wear a dress with her boobs half hanging out. Did Lety actually pinch Fedra's breast? That's what it looked like but I wasn't sure.

Our next contrivance will be Vicki and El Lirio. How much longer are they going to drag out this show? The thing I liked about Sorteligio was the fact that they didn't drag it out into a couple of hundred episodes. Llena goes to episode 206, so brace yourselves everyone, there's still more to come.

Carlos, thanks for your great recap. The subtitles for each episode were fun too.

I hope the writers don't disappoint me but yeah Dee!! She kicked that idiot to the curb. Like Vivi, I'm glad she forgave him because unforgiveness would lead to bitterness (to Vicky actually). Again I hope she sticks to her guns. I'd like to bring her a galan from another TN like Fabian or Alonso from TdA.

The girl fight b/t Fedra and Netty was hilarious. I'm sure the out-takes are gems.

Did anyone notice when Vicky was helping eLdP he had shrunk to Benie's size? It made me do a double take b/c Emin is tall.

Khalilah - ITA w/you. I hope they and Agent Orange have infamous demises.

Alison - so with you on Ilitia (sorry Carlos). Her fleeting moments of goodness never seem to overcome her wretchedness for me.

BarbaraM - it did seem like Netty pinched one of Fedra's girls.

Welcome kristoise.

Carlos! Hilarious recap. You had me laughing through the whole thing. Your appreciation of the women in this tn--and your ability to show this appreciation with such wonderfully worded phrases--make reading your recaps a treat.
I was so excited with Emil being the fake lirio. I actually screamed. And thank God that Cesar Evora got to do something fun/good and to outsmart someone in this telenovela! Emil's been such a doof. I also loved the move of switching everything to Netty's name. It seems papa Emil is smartening up!
In my head, I am pretending that off-screen, Eman and Emil had a very long, thorough conversation about Eman being the Lirio and then asked him to do this for him to throw off suspicion. (I always come up for some logical reasoning for the 'beanie' moments in these shows!)
It makes me happy that Emil was the one who got to de-throne (or de-tiara) Fedra! Let's hope he does it for real, and soon!
Again, wonderfully written. And thanks for the omitted scenes.

Vivi, thanks. I'm so glad I got to recap the episode that extracted satisfaction for the wrong done to Delicious. I'm most impressed by the classy way she handled it. I just hope that she sticks to her guns. Unless Axel makes some spectacular sacrifi... Oh crap. It just now occurred to me... She's probably going to turn up pregnant. I guess that might be a legitimate reason to take him back. Yikes!

I watched the first episode of Teresa and liked it. I haven't committed to it yet. I was thinking about taking a break. We're reading Don Quixote in the original Old Spanish and it takes up some time. Also, I've never recapped a serious show.I might be willing to be a backup.

Carlos

Pirate Babe, you know, I was also a bit disappointed by the way Eman treated JM. Of course Fedra has poisoned his mind and he has great loyalty to Emil, but I'd like to see them develop a bond. Maybe Letty will help.

Rosemary, I would have bet a long time time ago (pre-wine cellar) that Gretel would be pregnant. I'm guessing that Oliver may have been a Boy Scout.

Carlos

Thanks, Susanita. I really enjoyed your recap of TdA last week. This show has had several Festivus miracles and billowing globes abound.

kristoise, welcome and thanks for the offer. I'm not recapping next week or I'd already be putting in my bid. I'm confident that I'll get to enjoy one of your recaps next week.

BarbaraM there's just something about Fedra... Besides like Jerry Jeff Walker, I Like My Women Just a Little On the Trashy Side. Seriously, I think Azela Robinson is one of the most talented actresses in TNs and has an earthy beauty about her.

Carlos

Karen, thanks. I think that Dee would make a cute couple with Cruz(TdA). His singing is certainly better than Axel's and he is very attentive and romantic. Ilitia is a work in progress (though time is running out.

Samantha, thanks. As a fellow doof, it did my heart good to see Emil take off the mask. I actually felt a tear form in my eye seeing him beam with pride for what he had done. I watched this episode initially last weekend so did not have time to speculate as to who it was. What a delightful surprise.

Carlos

Carlos, how on earth did you write such a hilarious double-header recap? I swear it’s your best ever. I was laughing out loud the whole way through. Frankenovela, telenirvana, buzzard puke and …

El Lirio de Plata!

I also loved Axel’s “wan, pleading look”, and he “grovels and bleats”, and chunky cherub. And so many other wonderful bits.

Hooray for Delicia deciding to dump Axel and go to school. I sure hope she sticks with it, or rather that the writers let her stick with it.

BarbaraM – I think Fedra’s very sexy. Just goes to show that confidence (along with a good dose of lust) makes a gal attractive. She sure doesn’t hold back! No blushing reticence for her. I wonder if Netty actually pinched her boob, or was trying to help her fellow actress stay in her dress. Looked a little like a wardrobe malfunction there, but I didn’t rewind to check.

Kristoise – awesome offer! I’m okay because I’m Monday and can dink with it over the weekend (though next weekend is very dicey). I mean, I would love help, but I think others need it more desperately.

I was shocked that the cops were shooting at the Lirio. He's just a thief, not even armed.

Br'er Carlos, I completely agree w/ your assessment of Azela R. Thoroughly enjoyed the catfight between Fedra ('specially gowned so elegantly) and Netty (herself in peril of a wardrobe malfunction). All that scene lacked was a stripper pole, yes, in a hospital room and some good background music. "Sugar, Sugar" by the The Archies would have worked nicely.

Another masterful recap, Carlos, thank you kindly!

AW DAMN KENTUCKY JUST LOST BY ONE POINT!!

Maggie, thanks. I'm always flattered when my fellow recappers find my efforts amusing. I think you know how much I admire your recaps. I thought that this might be my last, but if this ends on the 18th, I have one left on the Friday before the Monday.
At 206 episodes that means either compressed or double episodes until the end.

Sorry Mike. I was pulling for Kentucky. Darla (my receptionist) and her husband were at the game. She texted me and said it was a sea of blue in Reliant Stadium.

Fedra and Letty fighting in Chema's room. Wow! A workout for your new lenses.

Carlos

Axjolio? Carlos you topper. I love it!! I agree that this was one of your best ever. You were on fire, maestro.

Delicia forgiving Axjolio and then demanding a divorce was one of the most awesome telenovela moments ever. I literally cheered out loud. I adored your digs at him throughout.

Forgive this short comment, it's been a long day and my head is nodding but I HAD to read your recap. I'm so glad I did. More tomorrow but for now...Carlos you rock!!

Hi Sylvia. Thanks. I also think the way Delicia dealt with Axjólio demonstrates the freshness that this group of writers brings to this show at times and of course Delicia played it perfectly. Surely the powers at Televisa see the same thing that we see and will find a way to display this remarkable talent in a vehicle designed specifically for her.

Carlos

Ah, Carlos, always wonderful. Going to miss these weekend round-ups in a few weeks.

" buzzard-puke" - so poetic and appropo. We always said Dee had the best brains of the bunch - and she sure showed it with her "I don't need you" speech. I pray the writers don't pull out the stupid little bow on this one and put them back together. I would love to see her enrolled in college and heading off to a better life. Being the wife of that good-for-nothing - she deserves the best!

Can I just say how sexy Emi looked right after taking off the Il Lirio mask? That smile, the messed hair, that voice...had this old gal's heart pumping.

Make Consuelo go AWAY!! No, I won't take help from anyone to help my son because I'm trying to land Brandon for myself? MV should have slapped her (hey, she slaps everyone else.)

So now we're down to the stretch. Still watching online so I can see everything, but we should start seeing some plotlines start to tie up (or at least let's hope.) It pains me to think of Doris/Andre and just maybe DEE/Axel being stuffed down our throats. But I'm looking forward to seeing just how Orange-Aid, Low-down and our beloved Fedra get their comeuppance. The rest is pretty predictable I guess.

Caray Caray sighting!!! (Or should I say hearing.) When Ilitia was fretting about Mari being available she muttered "Caray Cary" to herself. I always get excited when the characters actually use our blog title.

I realized when I read the recap last night that I hadn't actually finished watching the episodes online. So this morning I got to enjoy the last half of #185 AND re-read this wonderful recap.

Like everyone else, I truly hope that Delicia refuses to return to Axjolio. It would be a wonderful break from tradition that we would all fully support. And no, Carlos did not treat Axjolio too harshley. The little buzzard puke deserves it all and them some. Gak, I hope Dee's not preggers.

Barbara called it. I love that Emiliano is our faux lirio. Carlos, I thought the exact same thing you did when they drank their shots. "It's the real stuff!"

I wonder if we will ever get to see any outtakes from this show? They would be hilarious I'm sure. The scene with Netty and Fedra (where Fedra was falling out of her dress) would be included I'll bet. Don't you think Maggie?

I like Doris and want her to be happy but I sure wish she would get over Andres. I'm weary of the petulant, egotistical pretty-boys getting all the good babes.

Kristoise, I'm so glad you commented on the blog. Thank you for offering to help out. I sent you an email and hopefully you will get it.

Again, Awesome recap Carlos. I love it when a character pithes you off because you have the best way of verbally ripping them to shreds. When I was watching I kept asking myself "I wonder what Carlos will say about this?" You never disappoint.

Thanks, daisynjay. I tried to select just the right shot of Emiliano after he unmasked with you ladies in mind. I thought that the look was really genuine and of course mentioned that glowing smile and disheveled hair. He really looked the part of an aging hero. And Sylvia, that shot of Tequila they shared seemed to be a real toast to Emiliano. He had a look of surprise and recognition that suggested that he wasn't expecting the real thing. The others seemed to have their expectant eyes on him anticipating his reaction.

By the way daisynjay, on my computer (so I presume yours as well) if you click on the photo, it isolates and blows it up. He really has a wonderful weary but happy look on his face.

As for Doris and Andres, I just don't think they've laid down a proper predicate for a romantic relationship between the two. Until he got sick, he never seemed to have anything more than a lascivious interest in her and she simply had a silly crush on him which I would have thought would evaporate when she saw his true character. He's never shown me anything special. Did I miss a scene or two that actually established a romance between these two?

Carlos

Carlos - that was a hoot of a recap. I love Axel's new name. And great photos - I especially loved the first "aerial" shot with everyone lookup up at the ceiling and Fedra with her mouth hanging open. Hilarious!

Wow - so many folks noticed that the tequila was for real! I missed that. After seeing Eman down so many fake tequila shots, I was no paying attention.

Yeah - wasn't the sting operation awesome? Great bit in the TN. Oliver and Gretel - what a team! Good for Delicia! I don't know if Axel will ever grow up, but this was a big life lesson.

So - Eman's little hamster wheel started turning again with respect to Vicky and ELdP. But what about his still undying love for Mari? Did he forget already?

Audrey

Carlos, this is an incredibly delightful read. I'm going to read it again to savor all the clever details.

Delicia has once again proved that class and money are not equivalent. She is all class. Axholio and his evile mama, none whatsoever. We get so many outraged, emotional reactions to such situations in telenovelas, I was surprised but very delighted at the way she treated Axholio. Calm, mature, and gracious, but firm in her decision and clear on exactly why she was making it (since the idiot seemed to truly have no clue as to just how badly he done her wrong, and needed to have it explained to him).

Consuelo is unbelievable. She's willing to let her kid die if the help comes from Vicky, just because she sees him as a rival for Brandon's affections? This woman is truly sick. I wonder if Dra. Chelatina could get through to her...she needs a top-of-the-line shrink! Maybe Delicia can adopt Javier when Consuelo is dumped in the manicomio.

I'm just going to assume that Eman went to Emiliano, explained the whole Lirio situation, and asked for the help. They just couldn't show us that because it would have ruined the surprise. I was really nervous the whole time they were sitting around drinking tequila. I thought they needed to hurry up and hide the Lirio suit and the tiara in the secret place behind the revolving bar. What if someone had walked in? A locked door seems too far-fetched.

Julia, did you deliberately describe Fedra as "evile" or was it a typo? Whichever, I like it.

It was deliberate. Combining "evil" and "vile" = many a villain, certainly Fedra.

Thanks Audrey and Julia.

Audrey, I went back and watched that Tequila toast again and there is not a doubt in my mind that it was the real thing and that Emiliano had no idea. Too bad that Cristina no longer has her show.

As I mentioned earlier, I watched this on noseq last weekend so was really wide-eyed when I suddenly saw Gretel coming on to Alfredo. What a wonderful sting.

Julia, evile... perfect.

I almost wish that one of you other guys had gotten these episodes to recap because Delicia was so central and to my mind portrayed elegant, strong, classy femininity in such a powerful yet delicate way.

Julia, I also ways worried that Emiliano blithely sat there schmoozing, still decked out in full eLdP regalia.

Carlos

Posted a looooong comment last night after we got back from Charlotte and it was eaten. This is a test.

Wouldn't you know...NOW it works.

Carlos...like Julia said, this exquisitely funny recap is worth a second or third read. Male excremental types and lusty bosomy women seem to bring out the mischievous poet in you.

"walking talking chunk of dog droppings"
"little buzzard-puke"
"leaving Jorge with Jesus en la boca"
The refrain "Really, is that a good choice?"
and...

El Lirio de Plata

"more Oliver oil"
"we have ignition!"
and "Fedra's girls threaten to jump ship" (you even got in a nautical theme!)

So so funny and such a delight to read after a long tail-bone grinding trip.

Hooray for Delicia. Forgive (healthy) but don't Reconcile (unhealthy in this case). Axel is so obtuse he thinks a few "perdonames" and a flower or two should wrap up the whole matter. Although that's consistent with the way humans behave. Victimizers have short memories and are anxious to move on. Victims have very long memories and well they should. It's protection.

And they ARE having fun on the set! We've seen the smothered grins and now the real tequila in Emiliano's glass! Awesome.

Oh, Carlos, thanks for the Monday morning treat. Indeed I did click on the Emi pic and a nice big smile was there to greet me. That's a keeper.

And no, I don't think anyone missed a real romantic attachment between Doris and Andres leading up to our current moment. And if anything, he's been a total jerk only wanting to add her to his bedpost. But hey, get sick and suddenly he's in luurrrvvv. Not buying it. Worst pairing on the show.

Butler tonight!!!!

@Sylvia...just got back now to read your wonderful recap (love Disorder in the Court)! and all the interesting comments.

Also, getting the eerie feeling that you and I are on the same wavelength lately. When little Javier brought in BIG glasses of bright orange juice (I thought Eman asked for a glass of water) I started thinking about product placement again. In every telenovela I've ever watched they're drinking vats of this stuff. At least we don't have to listen to mmmmmm que rico Maggi broth cubes type nonsense but clearly there's some juice company behind all this.

And you know, sometimes it works. Our dishwasher sucks and I never use it (need to redo the entire kitchen) but I did go out and buy some hot pink rubber gloves to wash dishes after seeing them for months on Tontas (do you remember all those dishwashing scenes?)

@Daisynjay...Yesssss...go Butler!

@Carlos...are you rooting for Texas A & M? On the other hand, Notre Dame has the loveliest player of all, Skylar Diggins, and she's as talented as she is beautiful.

Carlos: Wonderful, wonderful! The recap and pictures were simply superb.

Of course, my favorite lines were regarding "Axjolio": "run along sonny, we girls have it under control"and "pitiful little swinelet". Excellent!

Loved your nod to Sinefeld "Festivus miracle" and to the great, underutilized Cesar Evora "Emiliano with faintly touseled hair"...

Dee was firm but not cruel. Axel could grovel from now until kingdom come and still not melt my heart. But, will Dee cave before the end? My fondest wish is that she doesn't and leaves Axel to contemplate his future - miserable and alone...

Thank you for slogging through both episdoes Carlos. This was fantastic.

Diana

Good morning, Judy, daisynjay, and Diana.

Judy, Fedra was having orange juice in the morning... which of course could have been a bit adulterated.

Yes, I'm very much pulling for Texas A&M. A large percentage of my family including my brother and his two boys attended A&M. It is located in College Station which is abot 80 miles from where we live. It has a legendary Corps of Cadets that are the foundation for incredible school spirit. The Lady Aggies are playing at a vertiginous level in the tournament and I see no reason for them to swoon at this point.

daisynjay, thanks. I thought I might have missed a key moment between Doris and Andre which might explain her attachment to him. The only good thing about the compression of the episodes is that it virtually eliminates the angst between Doris, Andre, and Jacki. Sadly, it almost eliminates the cute but spooky Javi and his not so cute but spooky mom.

Diana, I always look forward to the Monday after my recap to see your thoughts. I'm afraid that Dee will eventually cave either because of pregnancy or some magnificent gesture on Axjólio's part. I do hold out hope since she laid out some pretty clear axeless plans for her future.

Carlos

Carlos, congratulations on your Aggies trouncing our Cardinals. It's BIG news around here and the Card's coach has been very complimentary about the skills of the Texas players. Best of luck to them tomorrow night!

Magnifico, Carlos!

Thank you so much for this great recap!

Have you noticed the CC's being "a day late and a dollar short" this past week? They seem to be running about 2 speeches behind and they often leave out words, phrases, sentences or complete chunks of dialog. And I am proud of myself when I sometimes spot a mis-translated word. Oh, I long for the day I won't be dependent on the CC's!

Your Partner in the Crusade for Better CC's and World Peace,
Sondie

Sylvia, I had mixed emotions about that game. I have all these close ties to A&M plus the school, like Baylor, is located on the banks of the Brazos River, about 100 miles South of Waco. On the other hand, 2 local athletes, Chiney and Nnemkadi Ogwumike (we wanted these ladies at Baylor... imagine), play for Stanford. Darla's son, Conner, went to Catholic school with Chiney and they are friends. So either way...

Of course we are all pulling for Butler.

Carlos

Sonie, thanks. I actually finally gave up on the CCs Friday. They had been so good up until last week. I don't know if you saw the update from the lady at our local Univision station from Feb. 28 so Here it is again:

"This will update you on our internal efforts in response to your latest communication.

First, we have forwarded copies of the DVD you sent to us to both our program network and to the firm which is responsible for captioning the programs your e-mail cited. Representatives from our Standards and Practices, operations, engineering, procurement and legal teams have spoken with that captioning firm about the matters you complained of. We specifically directed the firm’s attention to the comments you made about episodes of “Llena de Amor” that aired last January. We have made clear to the firm that we expect all dialog to be captioned without any gaps, with as much accuracy as possible under their current captioning technology.

Second, our technical team has created a new Internet protocol for the captioning firm to connect with our programming sources. Our team believes that this new protocol could help to prevent inadvertent disconnects between the captioning firm and our facility, and allow for quicker reconnection in the even there is a disconnection.

Please let me know if you have any further comments on the captioning of our programming. We appreciate your communications.

Best regards,"

And the CCs were really quite good until just this past week. Clearly, they still have a way to go. We may have a better shot at World Peace.

Carlos

Carlos, Chiney and Nnemkadi are well-loved around these parts. Of course they are incredible athletes but everybody loves their wonderful, upbeat personalities too.

Sondie, you just helped me see the one good thing about compressing the episodes. Because I've been watching on line and not the TV version (except my night) I haven't noticed the bad CCs and hence have not been annoyed by them. Small comfort indeed.

You know, when a movie is shown on television, they always show a disclaimer about how it's been altered and edited. I keep thinking about all the people watching this show who have no idea why it all of a sudden got choppy with these jumps in plot that make no sense. They just think that the show got crappy with no explanation. I think Uni should have to show a disclaimer at the beginning of this show, from now till the finale, stating that the episode consists of two episodes, blended and edited to fit one hour. Then they should tell people where they can find the full episodes online. In fact, they should show the full episodes on their website.

Silvia,

I tried to go online last week like you. First I tried noseq.com, but got all kinds of warnings about viruses. Then I tried dailymotion.com. I keyed in llena de amor, capitulo 182. All I got was the boring courtroom scene. I couldn't find the rest of the episode. What am I doing wrong?

Sondie

Sondie- I use daily motion as well. They usually break up the episode into three parts. So when looking for the parts, key in Llena de Amor 182 1, and so on. Most times the following piece of the episode will be in the queue of videos, but sometimes it's not. In that case, just type in the next part of the episode into the search bar (e.g. Llena de Amor 182 2).

Thanks Vivi!

I will follow your instructions.

Sondie

Vivi, I've complained to the lady at Univision about the editing of the episodes and she said, "I'll forward your complaint and get back to you."
I'm sure that she she has me pictured as one of those... "Hey you kids get off my lawn"... old farts and dreads checking her Emails each day.

Carlos

No way Carlos. If she's like the rest of the ladies on CarayCaray, she's already got a little bit of a crush on you. So hang in there. I bet she'll do her best to get it corrected.

Sondie, darkiller.com has all the segments (taken from dailymotion) lined up for you - handy!

Great comments today!

Definitely OT: Sylvia, ever since you went to Hawaii, I've had a subscription to 'Lectronic Lattitude. This article cracked me up. I don't know if you saw it or not and I thought that everyone here would find it amusing, weird and kinky.

Carlos

You mean "Singlehander Saved by Real Doll"? It's an April Fool's joke! And I get fooled every year. Believe me, those folks over at Latitude 38 are definitely kinky.

Sorry, the article is on April 1 so it could be a hoax, but it's funny anyway. It's Single Hander Saved By Real Doll. You sailors have a great sense of humor.

Carlos

Sylvia, everyone of those stories was hilarious.

Sorry guys.

Carlos

People should still read and laugh, also it will help explain my demented sense of humor.

Hey I have a question. I've noticed that some of the scenes that are recapped are not featured in what I'm seeing on Univision. So where can I watch this online?

Hi Anon. True, Univision is cramming two episodes into one and editing out a ton of stuff. Do a search on "Llena de Amor capitulo 184" (or whatever cap you want) and then click onto the Daily Motion site. The episodes are typically split up into three sections. So like Vivi suggests you might do the search on "...capitulo 184 1" for starters.

Good luck.

Anon 5:38- Yes. Univision is taking two episodes and compressing them into one. Our recappers have been going above and beyond duty to find and recap both episodes so that things make sense. Many of us have given up watching the tv/Uni version and are just watching online exclusively.

Some sites (see comments above): www.dailymotion.com and www.darkiller.com. There are also other sites that other people can suggest.
