Triunfo del Amor #83 4/1/11 Doña Demento’s Day of Devine Retribution

As Viewerville loads up on Kleenex, checks the battery in the remote, counts the Excedrin in the bottle, and takes stock of the available adult beverages for commercial breaks, Max has been refused a loan by the bank and Casa de Victoria now faces certain bankruptcy unless a suitable buyer for Osvaldo’s shares can be found.

Ozzie, meanwhile, has gone straight to the police to give his statement about his shooting Guillermo.  The magistrate on duty assures Oz that Gui is not seriously hurt, having had the bullet barely miss a rib as it passed through the abdomen.  He’s recuperating under guard at the hospital until he gives his statement, he adds.  Oz gives his side of the sorry facts and swears he handed over an entire fortune to Guillermo Quintana; he thought he’d bought half that theatre!  The magistrate tells him they’ll be opening an investigation and he can now have his one phone call.  Oz decides to call ex-Padre Juan Pablo rather than cause more grief on the home front.

When the call comes for JP, he is giving a talk to the orphanage boys about the temptation of drugs.  Domingo bears witness to the perils and pitfalls of his falling victim to drugs.  He promises the group to stay on the straight and narrow from now on.  JP takes the call from Oz (and the less observant of us finally note that he’s a southpaw).

Outside the new vecindad, Milagros’ new gal-pals go ape-nuts over naco Napo who immediately eats it up.  Millie gets a wee bit jealous.  Along comes a retired history teacher who takes a moment to introduce himself.  She takes advantage of the situation to flirt with the old prof and to give Napo a taste of his own medicine.  FF>>

At Scandal-val Manor, Max explains the dire financial situation to Victoria.  Their only out is to sell the manse or to accept somebody’s offer to purchase stock in the company.  The sticky part is the number of shares the person offering wants to buy and that it’s a take-it-or-leave-it proposition.  She tells Max to accept the offer.

Back at the police station, Oscar claims self-defense for his client, Oz, since Gui pulled a gun on him and Oz was provoked due to the fraud he’d discovered.   Ex-Padre JP adds that he found out that Sr. Quintana doesn’t have a permit for the gun, and that the firearm has never been registered.  He suggests that they fine [multar] Gui for it.  Oscar gets Oz let out on bail.

Max is heading back to the office but must first suffer through another altercation with the ever-annoyingly cloying Jimena. Max takes a moment to assure her that he’s stopped seeing Maria Desamparada so there’s no reason to continue to freak out whenever she sees him walk towards the front door.  Jimeana’s smile shows just the barest hint of wicked as she feigns immense relief to hear the news.  Max, though, makes it clear that even though he’s stopped seeing Maria she cannot prevent him from continuing to love her.

He walks out of the house. Ji takes a call on her cell from Gui telling her that he got shot.  She sneaks out of the house to check on him.

On their way back to the car, Oscar pats Oz on the shoulder and tries to calm him down.  Oz is enraged by Guillermo’s swindle and says it’s now become a personal vendetta for him.  Oscar tells him he understands his rage but reminds him that he has more important things to think about--like Vicki and his family.  Oz agrees and admits he knows Vicki gave up on him for good, but she is allowing him to stay in the house due to the kids’ problems.  However, he says, he hasn’t given up hope that someday he’ll win Vicki’s love back again.  (For now, Viewerville could give a flip if he has to eat dirt!)

At Casa de Victoria, Fabian gives Pepino, Roxana, and Antonieta the news about Vick’s sale of the stock to avoid the business going under.  Roxi blames the old fashioned rags [garras anticuadas] Pepi’s been designing for the models.  Another cat fight ensues, during which he calls Roxy a witch and tells her to find her broom, jump on and get out.  Toni shuts them both up, finally.  Fab reminds them that they’d better hope the new business partner gets along with all of them.

Os returns home and tries explaining to Vicki what happened with Gui and how the chiseler scammed him out of part ownership of the theatre. She bawls him out, angry because they’ve got enough problems as it is without having to now deal with a shooting, let alone his having lost all that money to Guillermo!  Besides, it was his forcing her to sell those shares of stock that started the company’s financial woes she reminds him.  Now it’s all been lost on a useless and selfish whim!  Enough of that!  She walks over to the desk and hands him an envelope with the divorce papers for him to sign.  He’s resigned to his fate.  “--Okay.  Once again, Victoria, we will do things according to your wishes!”  (Wait a darn tootin’ minute here! Didn’t she just tell him that the one time she did give in to him what a cuss’nflusterin’ disaster it turned out to be?)  He signs the divorce papers and they agree not to upset the kids by telling them about the divorce being a done deal.

Later, alone in her bedroom, Vick tearfully bemoans the fact that it’s finally over between her and Ozzie.  (Sorry, Victoria, but Viewerville is light-years beyond caring at this point.)

At the same time, Maria is tearfully thinking back to having finally broken it off with Max.  Suddenly someone presents her with a rose.  She smiles and turns, thinking it might be Max.  It’s Alonso, the sexy Photographer Dude, wearing a hopeful smile on his face (and a t-shirt that displays his triceps to full advantage…Hubba! Hubba!).  He's trying hard to make points with Maria.

Meanwhile, Max is at his desk downtown, thinking about the romantic moments shared with Maria.

Maria thanks Lon for the rose and politely introduces him to Nathy.  (Like he’s really going to look twice at her?)  He charmingly explains that he came back by because he was still worried about her after the business at the park that afternoon.  Maria says they’re about to finish their shift and head home.  He invites himself along.  She says she doesn’t think he’s going to stay charmed with the likes of her, considering she’s pregnant.  Lonnie seems very excited at the news.  It’s a blessing, he says, and all the more reason they should all get to know each other better!  The three of them head over to Maria and Nat’s little hole in the wall.

Back at Casa de Victoria, Oscar tells Max about Guillermo’s scamming his father out of joint ownership of the theatre.  Max is incensed.

Outside in the garden under Fernanda’s window, Cruz worries about the love of his life.  Upstairs in her bedroom, Fer gets a visit from an uber-cheery physical therapist.  The Fer-beast shows her fangs and   wildly attacks Cheery PT Lady, whose screams of terror bring everyone running. (Whoa!  Not that uber-cheery doesn’t do a number on me, too, but that attack scene with Fer-beast was worthy of the best werewolf movie-thons!)  Cheery PT Lady is now anything but as she quickly explains to Vicki and Oz that she was only doing what the doctor sent her there to do, i.e., her frickin’ job!  She leaves in a grumpy huff, her PT professionalism having been ranked by one of her charges at an all time low, as Fer cries to her papi that she doesn’t want anybody seeing her like this.

At the same time, Jimeana is visiting giddy Gui in his bachelor pad and listening to him drone on about how “that damned Osvaldo” was about to kill him; bragging that he, of course, isn’t going to just take it; and that he’s going to destroy Oz since that’s always been the game plan.  Ji says it was pretty moronic to have pulled a gun on the guy cuz now the police are involved, and they’re going to open an investigation which is going to show that he really isn’t the owner of that theatre at all.  Gui says that’s what she thinks!   He has all his paperwork in order and it points to him as the theatre’s only legitimate owner.  Oz will be the one going through bad times now, and Gui won’t stop until the whole Sandoval clan is destitute!

However, Jimeana has heard enough.  She slugs Gui’s wounded side with his cane and asks what he was thinking by letting her marry Max if that was his idea!  She’s not going to live in poverty and neither is his baby!  Gui blows her off and tells her she belongs in an asylum, and that he could care less about that frickin’ baby!  It’s no skin off his nose.  (That’s right.   She’s definitely the one who’s got to carry it for nine months!)  Cant’s she understand that he’s a playboy, always was, and always will be?  “--I don’t belong to anybody, understand?  Not to anybody!”  Just then Max walks in on the two of them.  He’s stopped-in-his-tracks impactado to see Ji standing there sheepishly.  “--What are you doing here, Jimena?  Well?”  Ji takes a quick minute to consider a credible hedge.

Max gets impatient.  Ji tells him she came there to give Guillermo grief for cheating Max’s daddy like he did and to stick up for the family!  He tells her it wasn’t her place to and moves her out of the way for a better look at the grinning ghoul.  Max stares Gui down and tells him what a shameless slug he is.  Gui pulls a bully-style nanny-nanny-boo-boo, tauntingly asking him if he’s going to pick a fight with him like his daddy did.  “--I’m not scared of you!  Your daddy doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on!  That theatre is mine and the paperwork is all in order!”   Max tells Gui he’ll be back to square things another time, and then drags Jimeana out the door with him.  Gui allows himself a gratifying gloat.

Back at the Scandal-val manse, Cruz asks Formerly-Cheery PT Lady what happened inside.  She tells him Fer is in crisis and won’t take therapy.  He says she’s obviously suffering right now.  PT Lady warns him that if the girl doesn’t get her head on straight and refuses to accept help, she going to be suffering a lot more down the road and stomps off.

Max doesn’t believe a word Ji’s told him apparently, and once they’re in the car and speeding merrily towards home, Max asks her again why she was there at Guillermo’s house. (Viewerville crosses all their fingers and toes in hopes that finally Max might be beginning to see his way to the possibility that the future psychopath now gestating in Jimeana’s womb, this demon spawn with a double whammy of crazy gene, might not really be his.)  Ji goes into deflect and redirect mode.  “--Stop torturing me with questions!”  She insists she was there only to defend his daddy’s honor.  Max says that seems pretty lame since it has nothing to do with her.

Ji changes the direction of the conversation, complaining that he refuses to accept her--the mother of his child--as part of his family!  He groans. “--Here we go again!” She kicks the rant up a couple notches.  “--If you won’t love me and give me my place in this family, I don’t want to live!”  Jimeana pushes open the car door and leans out at 80 mph. “--This is what happens!”  Max panics and swerves.  “--My life is meaningless if you don’t love me!  Don’t you understand?”  “--Jimena!  Think about our child for gawd sakes!”  Max grabs her by the arm and pulls her back in, courtesy of a major adrenaline rush. (Two more words for you, Max: padded cell.) He pulls over to the side of the road till she gets a grip.

Maria and Nat have brought Alonso home with them.  He tells them he’s a professional photographer and has his own publicity agency.  Nat brags about Maria having been a top fashion model.  He wants to hear more.  Maria demurs and says It’s too long a story to go into now.  Lon figures she quit due to the pregnancy and emphasizes again what a marvelous thing pregnancy is.  He considers Maria’s decision to keep the baby.  “--Doing the proper thing does exist!”  He weeps as he then relates his sad, sad story to the two of them regarding his fateful experience with unwanted pregnancy.  Lonnie was in love with a woman once and realized only too late what an evil person she was.  She was pregnant with his child, but she went to doctor and got rid of it!  After he found out, his great love for her turned into enduring hatred.  He never wants to see or hear from her again in his lifetime!

Scheme-ena now goes in for the coup de grace with Max.  “--I only want for you to love me!  Without your love my life is worthless! What I want is for you to be with me always! Don’t leave me, because otherwise I swear to you that I will kill myself!  Just love me. Just love me!”  Max appears to have now developed one mellovahellova major migraine.

Once Max gets back home, he has it out with his dad over the major fuster-cluck the theatre deal turned out to be.  There has got to be something Oz can do about it!    He simply can’t understand how Oz could have blindly signed some papers for Gui without having read them first!  (Hey, Oz is only a screen-stud.  He’s not expected to use his brain for anything.  He’s only ever been expected to stand around posing for the camera while he pumps his pecs.  It doesn’t take much in the way of smarts for that, Max!)  Oz whines that he was otherwise occupied and confused with other things at the time.  Vick walks in on this conversation and accuses him of confused thinking alright and not with his head!  Max gripes at her for drinking and mixing in with them.  She says she enjoys imbibing to help her forget and then takes the opportunity to let him know the divorce is a done deal before strutting out of the living room.

Max confirms the news with Oz who tells him that his mother will never forgive him, and if it weren’t for Fer he’d have left for sunnier climes by now.  Max reminds him that Vicki is having financial problems and has had to sell a part of her business to save her company from insolvency.  Oz asks if they know anything about this new business partner.  He says no, not a thing.  The person sent their representative in to sign the papers and to leave a deposit.  They insisted on keeping the person’s identity a secret from them until the next morning.

The next day, Nat, Maria, Millie and Israel’s widow (Anita?) are having punch on the sidewalk outside the new vecindad with JP, discussing the baptism and/or how nice it was of the widow to give Maria all her maternity clothes, when Ozzie walks up and says hello.  Maria is definitely showing now and Oz suddenly realizes that Maria is preggers.  He mentions it to her.  JP offers to discuss things with him, but Maria says she’d rather handle it and the two of them go inside to talk.

Vick and her crew, meanwhile, await the arrival of her new business partner.

In the barrio once again, Oz is all smiles at this revelation.  Maria tells him she’s five months along.  He says he supposes Max knows by now that she’s expecting.  Maria says no and she wants to keep it that way.  Oz can’t imagine why not and adds that, knowing her the way he does, he’s certain it’s Max’s child and so Max really needs to know.  She explains that she had thought to tell Max, but that day he broke her heart when he came to tell her Jimena was expecting a child of his and he’d be taking responsibility by marrying her.  Oz blames himself for that because he’d harangued him about how sacrificing for a child is priority numero uno.  He regrets it now because he realizes that Max doesn’t love Jimena (Excuse me?  He knew that from the beginning.)  Besides that, Jimena isn’t right in the head.

As far as Maria is concerned, though, Max married Ji and that is the only thing that counts!   She tells him how she secretly went to the wedding and saw how he was forced into marrying her like that, all because of the baby. She swore then and there that she didn’t want Max to ever feel obligated to marry her because of her pregnancy either.  That’s why she decided never to tell him.

Oz says he knows that Max loves her and only her.  Maria knows, but tearfully reminds Oz that Max isn’t free.  “--He’s too compromised right now, and there is always some obligation that prevents the two of us from finally realizing our dream of finally being together.”  Oz says he knows that Max has already told Jimena that once the baby is born they’re separating so he can be with Maria.  Maria tells Oz to look her in the eye and tell her if he really thinks that Max could abandon his child once he’s held it in his arms.  Oz says he guesses she’s got a point at that.  So, says Maria, she’s come to the realization that she’s got to get used to the idea that it was an impossible dream.  She’s wide awake now, though.  She asks him to promise that he’ll never let Max know the truth, though, of course, Jimena does; but Ji would never let her husband know that her rival was also expecting a child of his.  “--Ji isn’t that stupid!”

Oz still can’t understand why Maria wouldn’t tell Max the truth.  Maria finally breaks down in tears and blurts out that he’s got way too many other problems to be tortured by one more!    Oz finally gets it and promises not to say a word to anyone.  He does ask her to at least let him continue to look in on her and his grandchild.  She agrees, but asks him to make sure that no one suspects anything about his visits.  He agrees.

Back at Casa de Victoria, the gang’s all there and sitting on pins and needles.  The clock’s way past 10 and the new partner is still a no-show.  Suddenly the phone rings.   The new partner’s has arrived.  A couple minute later the door to the conference room opens and the faces of everyone around the table register with shock.  “--¡Buenos días!”  Bernarda de Iturbe smiles broadly at them and then looks over triumphantly at Victoria.

Thanks Jardinera! Another great recap!

How much do you want to bet that Jimena is the mother of Alonso's child. I'd also like to say that I never considered Alonso to be such a guapo name until TDA.

Burnarda's hair cracked me up! Is she trying to appear youthful and hip? It reminded me of Erica from All My Children in the 70's!

Jardinera, thank you once again for a terrific recap.

I was surprised that you noted that Oz is a southpaw. I know very few people that are left-handed but watching these TN I find a quite a few of them, including Lucero. I wonder if it comes with the acting gene?

Roxy and BSCX are not going to take the news of the new status of the Sandovals, it should be fun to watch. Just wait until Roxy and Burnie lock horns. BSCX will probably join evil forces with Burnie, they deserve each other.

No doubt that BSCX is the baby mama of Alonso aborted baby. She is really going to pay for that sin.

I am glad to see that Oz now knows about the baby and joins JP in supporting her and the baby.

Well, Gui didn't die and isn't in a coma, drat. Maybe next time.

Where is Ofelia's corpse today? Maybe it is in Gui's bed since he won't let anyone in there.

Thank you Jardinera. As usual, a satisfying and fun read. I'm with Mariquita on the Alonso/Jimi/abortion thing: they alluded to it in the avances. Also, I loved the way—after a lot of obnoxious suspense-building during which we were almost certain the new partner would be Doña Dementa distUrbite—after she entered the room, they zoomed in on her trouser-clad legs, leaving us for a moment to suspect that the partner was a man, before panning up to her evil grin.

And as for Cheery PT lady—those gals (and guys) saved my life after hip surgery. I think they all must do a whole semester in "uber-cheerfulness" before they allow them to graduate. It's peculiar to Physical Therapists (who I admire more than almost any other health professional). When they first rolled me out of bed to do the exercises I was a close second to Fernanda for grouchiness. We'll see how long she stays that way; especially if Pablo starts in with that song outside her window again.

Jardinera once again you don't disappoint thanks so much for a LOL filled recap.

Has it ever come to mind to Max all the times that same darn Dr. has treated the drama queen XXX-factor to ask how far a long she is in her pregnancy? How about like someone mentioned before put a PI on her tail. Boy is he clueless he strongly suspected she cheated on him before that's why he broke up with her and now he finds her at Gui's house? Ok the supposed jumping from the car that was the final straw go and tell your emotional blackmailing parents her latest stunt and have her committed. This is what happens when you give into crazy emotional blackmail now she doesn't want you to leave her ever.

I'm sorry i was ROFL when Fer jumped on the PT like that it was too funny.

I don't get what Os said to Maria E. he knew before they married that Max didn't love BSC XXX-factor.

Someone mentioned the other day because Victoria has refused to discuss her past concerning both Bernie and Padilla that she was opening herself up to what happen and now it's true Bernie is the unknown partner for casa de Victoria. I happen to like this new wrinkle in this version and now she is at the mercy of Bernie with her business talk about coming full circle to where they started off before.

Great Jardinera, as always, tks

I guess Bernarda owns 51% since that was a big deal in the sale.

Oz will never learn, he signs those divorce papers w/o even reading them.
Ok Oz, you have agreed to turn over all your future earnings to Victoria.

Thanks for yet another fabulous recap, Jar! Giddy Gui just cracked me up.

Some things that popped in to my head during the episode:

IRT Fer-Linda had a scratch and was in the hospital for days. Fer has a major spine injury and it appears she had outpatient surgery. And she sure can beat the crap out of the uber-cheerful PT girl for someone with a spine injury. That scene had me laughing. I feel for Fer.

IRT Alonso/BSCX- As he told the story I highly suspected he was speaking of Xi and the avances confirmed it. But I seem to remember BSCX telling mom she tried to trap a man with a baby and it didn't work, so I think somewhere between Xi's version and Al's version lies the truth.

IRT Os- He seemed so genuinely pleased that Maria was pregnant with Max's child. Has he even referred to BSCX's baby as his nieto? Has Vic? I know Xi has pulled the "your nieto" card, but I can only remember Vic and Os referring to the baby as "tu hijo" when they talk to Max.

IRT Burnie- I absolutely detest the Burnie-as-partner plot. I know I may be the only one, but for me it just doesn't jibe with her as religious zealot. Sure, it's the best way to 1. put the knife in Vic's back and 2. twist it mercilessly, but I will have to get a major beanie adjustment. I guess I was just hoping for an out of the blue mystery character. Eh. I'll live.

In general- we have definitely entered a darker period for the story and I often find myself missing the "good ol' days" when Vic was on top, Os was feeling ignored and Linda was boiling bunnies.

LOL Vario! You're right! Os *did* just sign it without looking!

Victoria has referred to XXX-factor demon spawn as her nieto when Max bought home the drama queen the other day from her performance at Milagros restaurant when Os was demanding who the father is of Victoria's first daughter. JP showed up wanting to talk to Fer and Victoria told him she would blame Maria E. if anything happened to her nieto.

Great strategy for getting anything out of Os-- get him riled up, then put a document in front of him to sign. He'd sign away the farm without looking!

It was sweet how happy he was to be expecting a nieto from Maria. But his excuse for pushing Max to marry Xi didn't jive. Great observation about him never having the same proud reaction to Xi having his nieto.

Jar- This was a wonderful and funny recap. Great set up in this episode for the next stage in the game. Max and Maria apart; Maria being Alonso's muse; Vic and Os divorced; Fer wallowing in self pity in her bedroom; Max and Xi in a downward spiral; and Burnie in control of Vic's business. Fun times ahead!

Shameless plug:
Last Wednesday a new telenovela started at 9pm—Teresa. I’m sure most of you have seen the ads, as Uni has been advertising the heck out of it the last few weeks. I’ve heard some people were turned off by the idea of a bad girl heroine. Forget the ads. That’s just sensationalism. Yes, Teresa is not a “good girl.” She is no saint, nor a martyr, as our usual tn heroines tend to be. But here’s what you do get: A heroine who is whip smart, intelligent, takes crap from no one, ambitious, and clever. There are no star crossed lovers being kept apart by bad, evil people. But our heroine has two very handsome love interests. So far the writing and acting are excellent, and we are all on the edge of our seats to see what our plucky heroine will do next.

The problem: We have NO recappers for this show. That’s right, 0. The first few episodes were recapped with screenshots from temporary recappers-- Aribeth and Jeri, fresh from duty from their Insomniacs Club midnight recapping duties on LVO. These ladies deserve a break. For those of you bored with Herederos del Monte on Telemundo at 9, Teresa is a more exciting option. For any of you Eva Luna and Llena de Amor recappers who will be free to recap again when your shows end in the next few weeks, please consider recapping Teresa and contact Melinama. For any folks who want to try recapping for the first time, give it a try! You’ll be great! For any others looking for a quality tn that’s a little different from the norm, join us! We’d love to have more folks join the discussion on the character and motivations of this interesting (gasp!) heroine.

Sara,
exactly, I think Fernanda got her therapy, beating the crap out of the PT.

Thank you, Jardinera.
I've tried twice to post today without success.

I'll make this short, in hopes that I can post this time. Lots happening at TDA, all pretty convoluted and departing more and more from EPDA.

Ximeana told Rox that she tried to trap a man with a baby but it didn't work so she got rid of it.

Alonso told Maria & Nati that he was in love with a woman but she was bad and he didn't realize how evil she was until it was too late. One day she got rid of the baby and his love for her turned to hate.

I'm thinking Ximeana got pregnant on purpose to trap Alonso into marriage (since Xi only deals with rich guys, Al is probably rich underneath the scruff). Al didn't want to marry Xi (cuz she crazy) but did want to take care of the baby, so for spite Xi had an abortion.

(my verification word is "ovenes" which is probably where Ofelia is)

LOL Anon207. That sounds like the most likely scenario.

I like the Alonso character. I know he is not destined for Maria, but I hope he gets a happy ending.

Good job, Jardinera.

Bernarda's religious fanaticism is always retrofitted to her purpose of the moment. She goes on and on about God, but ignores the mandate of forgiveness, abuses the confessional, and thinks she's above the 10 Commandments, particularly Thou Shalt Not Kill.

This plot twist is ripe for speculation. Dona Dementa Disturbide (Love that one!) will do one or more of the following:

-- Get rid of Antonieta and anyone else who supports Victoria
-- Allow Roxana to embezzle from the company
-- Possibly embezzle funds herself
-- Get Maria back after she has the baby and set her and Victoria against each other
-- Make things so horrible that the remaining staff quits.

If this were ancient times the gods would have incinerated her by now.

As to Bernarda's clothes, I can't ever remember seeing her in a dress.

JP is not going to like this one bit. He will need an ally to help protect Maria and Victoria so I think he's going to come clean with Osvaldo, at least to disclose that he is the father of Victoria's first daughter. That would at least explain his BSC mother's Satanic hatred of Victoria and give Osvaldo a weapon to fight her with.

I really hope that Burnie taking over the business bring Vic and Os closer to one another. I know their marriage was not that great, but I want to see them work it out and really grow as a couple. Hopefully your are right UA and Os will unite with Vic to fight Burnie.

I do like the new run of events i like this part of the plot better than the EPDA version what i do not like is how they killed off the LindaHo' character or the way they made Maria so accepting of being the other woman meaning mistress for Max in this version.

As for Victoria in order for her to unite with Os and help her overcome her enemies she needs to find forgiveness and get rid of the hate she has first especially towards Maria E. and learn how to speak civilly towards people.

Right now there are the BSC women running around in this novela Bernie,XXX-factor and Victoria and Roxana is heading towards that territory herself too.

Thanks for your recap Jardinera.

ITA w/all of you on the call about Alonso and XXX factor. There is only one women in all of Mexico who would have an abortion and she's Max's wife.

The story is taking an interesting twist from EPDA. While I can try to have patience with them killing off Linda and Bernie w/51% of the company, I still can't tolerate JJ and hope he nobly ends the TN alone and Nathi is w/Fabian.

I got behind in the recaps after Monday so thanks to Susanita, a fantastic debut, Sara, and Kat. You all keep me updated and laughing.

Also thanks so much UA for sharing your story with us. I really enjoy the support and transparency on this blog.

I forgot about Fer beating cheery PT gal! It came out of the blue. Hilarious!!!!!! I think Soup should either do a parody of that *or* Oz's most dramatic removal of all electronic, communication equipment, this week.

All this "protecting" of whoever, by withholding information, has got to stop. All they are doing is delaying the inevitable & creating more troubles & grief.

Sorry, I cannot help with any recaps. 1. I'm still learning espanol& it would be skeletal outlines and 2. I can only commit to one telenovela - my brain cells can only take so much of this new coding. =)

ardinera - Thank you for the recap! I actually watched this in real time last night. (ack) I love "Scheme-ena" because it is spot on.

Blusamari - Count me among those who were roflol at Fer attacking the PT. ;-) At least it made Fer's 'swollen' right eye open up-LOL

Rosemary - re: southpaws It has been my observation that left-handed people are highly creative and/or artsy. I've noticed some telenovela characters who are lefties..... possibly incl. Silvia Navarro in MEPS but I'm not sure if that's the right actress & TN.

When Osvaldo put his hand on Maria's stomach, it creeped me out. Does she really even know him? Does he know her well enough to do that? I thought it was a bit inappropriate --- he didn't even ask if I remember correctly.

Burn-arda's hair-twist bun is now on the side of her head. New hairstyle = new etapa, but usually for the protagonista.

Vivi in DC - sorry I can't help out with "Teresa" but had to LOL over your comments because I was bored with Los Herederos Del Monte after the first ten minutes, and never looked back. ;-)

Jardinera - I forgot to mention that I love your alliterative title.

Jardinera, a terrific title on a tremendous recap. Fer going all crazy on the cheerful therapist just cracked me up. Her ability to move so quickly and strongly must have been one of those adrenaline rush reactions.

When I had knee surgery, I didn't enjoy the physical therapist's demands at the beginning, but the process helped my recovery a lot. At least I only acted a little sulky and didn't attack the woman.

Oz was quite sweet to Maria and now she has another supporter on her team. XXX is just ridiculous. She has to be Alonso's past love and reluctant baby mama. Let's see some retribution for her.

Now that Bernie's a partner with Vicki (loved the slow reveal), we're probably in for a wild ride. I look forward to how she handles a new career.
La Paloma

I think that Bernarda is looking to slowly sink the company. She will keep it going either until she drives Victoria out or runs it into the ground and Victoria will be forced to sell her house and start from scratch.

What I think she really wants is to drive Victoria to suicide.

Hmmmm....Vic having to start from scratch could be good. This time though there would be no secrets and she would be kinder. And Maria would be top model and Fer and Pip would design.

@doris: I thought the hands on the belly was a bit forward and very creepy, but what beautiful hands they were.

And are we seeing the beginnings of a print career for MariaD? Somebody already mentioned this possibility. I would so love to see her victorious over Victoria. One of the things I confess I love about this show is the glam of the fashion world y la farándula. Wouldn't it be a great fantasy if Alonso featured her as a pregnant model?

Hi y'all. Thanks for coming and commenting--much appreciated!

I sure hope Mark Tacher sticks around Univision. Love that rough n tumble look of his --and his beard actually LOOKS like a beard should look--or maybe it's just my zorramones kicking in. I know the idea is for his character to kick Max out of neutral, but still I don't think Max deserves Maria after giving her up like he has when common sense would have led him long before any wedding to get a DNA test done on that fetus.

Agnes/Ixv: ITA that Lon should help Maria relaunch her modeling career. If he is that wild about pregnant women, a spread would make sense, especially since he owns his own publicity agency.

BTW, have you done any more paintings while recuperating?
==============
Rosemary: ITA and have been thinking that things may change rather radically once Roxi and daughter realize the family fortunate aren't any longer....
==============
Blusa: Fer is 3X's match in looney if only she could get out of that bed!
================
Vario/Sara: I'm figuring at least 51% now for Burnie also. We can only imagine the puritanical iron curtain she's going to pull down on that fashion design house. If Pepi was pissed before now with Roxi..... ¡Ay chihuaha!

ViviDC: Shameless plug away -- I know there has got to be some hidden recapping talent still under the bushel somewhere! Looney has really ticked me off, though, the way it's expanded to 4 hrs. a night. There just aren't enough of us to go around now.

Doris/Vivi/Mariquita: Burnie's got a hair twist? Was that her idea of living life in the fashion-world fast lane?
==============
Traveling Lady/Blusa: The refritos never seem to follow the originals that closely, except for MEPS, and now I understand perhaps for Teresa. Part of the "charm" I guess. Always a disappointment for me, but then, I really never watched EPDA.
=============
Karen: ITA about JJ. Bech! Whatever aura he has about him on the field, it doesn't translate well onto the screen.
==========
La Paloma: Abuelo Oz and the hands on the belly didn't do much for me at all. I didn't buy his sudden regret at forcing Max to marry Ms. Ji-strung or the way he so matter-of-factly mentions she's not right in the head.

Stick the gal in a private mental clinic already and keep her in a padded cell while she dries out if she can't be medicated!!
=============
UrbanAn: I like your suicide plot idea. Makes perfect sense.

Ever since La Verdad Oculta terminated, I've been lurking around trying to figure out if I really wanted to watch and comment on TDA. It has been so over the top--especially Bernarda and her sanctimonious self, I couldn't help myself. (Sweet William is a big bonus.)

After a big struggle with myself, I checked in to the comments. It's great to see some of the LevyLoversLeftOver from Sortilegio.

Jardinera, nice to see you here; Blusamurai, too; but where oh where in Levy-Heaven is Cielo de Levy?

I'll be posting comments from time to time, but won't go back to read them all, so forgive me if I duplicate things that have already been discussed and settled.

Things that bother me so far:
1. Why oh why did they put glasses on Frizzy Natti? Everytime the cameras zoom in, you can see green klieg lights reflected in her lenses. Ah well.

shout out to Newbie-OK and any other shy lurkers. Commenting isn't a commitment. Nobody holds it against you if you don't show up everyday. Sometimes I'm more regular than other times, but this is a very convivial, funny and accepting community. Nice to have you on board.

Newbie1K- Cielo is super busy with school and work. So much so that she actually had to give up recapping this show. I'm sure she tries to look in every once in a while. It's always good to see you though. Check into Teresa too, where you will find many of us LVO-ers.

@Jardi: I can't make serious artwork right now because I'm still clumping around. But I did go public on Facebook with a sketch & photo diary that records my experience. You can look me up under Agnes de Bethune and check out "Mrs. Natural goes Bionic" I'll keep the album public for a little while, just to share.

Thanks, Jardinera. At least things are happening on this novela. However, I'm sorry that it was moved to 10 pm. Vivi~~~I'm trying to watch ''Teresa'' since it's in my 9 pm spot. It's weird seeing Angelique with coal black hair. Which galan do you think she'll end up with ? I suppose it will be Sebastion since he is the lead actor. He's the only one who interests me in this show.

Mariquita yes the Soup should do a parody of that scene or someone should make a GIF out of it. It may not have been intentional to be hilarious but it was.Now i'll take that any day over Pepino's fast forward speaking like a chipmunk scenes which are not funny at all.

Doris yeah that eye did mange to open during the whupa$$ moment with the PT didn't it? Still ROFL i keep replaying that scene and having a real good laugh.

Newbie-One-Kanobe glad to see you here.

Vivi i have to admit i'm starting to be pulled into watching Teresa and i am definitely not a Sebastian Rulli fan at all.I thought Angelique hair was like dark brown because i saw her being interview on Gordo y Flaca last week and it looked like her hair was black then.I enjoy Ana Brenda Contreras and just love her presence on the screen.

I think the one guy who hasn't mange to be looking scruffy is Fabian come to think of it i don't believe he ever looked like that in this novela maybe he didn't get that memo either.

I had a good LOL at the Fer/PT scene too. That PT looked like she should have had some little birds circling her while she sang her happy PT song. :)

Susanlynn- I'm not sure Teresa will end up with anyone at the end. But I think for a while she'll have them both.

Jardinera: Great recap. I love Mark Tacher and I tried to watch some episodes with him here. I'm not always a fan of his wardrobe in this telenovela but I do like his beard. He is lovely.

Blu and Susalynn: Angelique's natural hair is blond, she had to dye it dark brown for Mujeres Asesinas and a lighter brown for Corazón Salvaje and I think they dyed it either black or very dark brown for Teresa and she has kept it until now but maybe the tint has fallen a little or she changed it to a lighter color.

Jarocha hi how are you doing i was looking up Erick Elias latest novela and not Nina De Corazon but the one called Ni Contigo how is that doing in Mexico?

Hi Blu: Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti is doing bad. The ratings are awful and it's just worse since that was the old timeslot of Teresa and the novela in the next timeslot, La Fuerza del Destino, is doing much better.

Jarocha

Looks like Univision is going through a dry spell with a lot of their novelas not doing well huh?

I don't know about Univision but with Televisa:

Teresa did very well and ended great, Cuando Me Enamoro did okay, La Fuerza del Destino is doing very good. Una Familia Con Suerte started great but now is just okay. All the rest are doing bad or worse.

Jarocha

I read that Teresa II is in the works since it was an overwhelming success in Mexico?

Is it me or did Maria D suddenly look pregnant between the walk in the park with the new hunk and when Oz caught up with her? Why didn't Max notice as he was splitting with her? It's about time since she already a sonogram and the baby-in-utero was mature enough to apply for his learner's permit! Why doesn't Xi look preggers too? Yes, I thought it creepy too that Oz touched her belly. EEEW. But then I thought it was creepy that Padre JP was there with Maria at the sonographers. But while someone noticed how nice his hands were, I noticed his Bulgari ring. I have to laugh at who ever observed that the SCI (spinal cord injury) Fer was able to attack the PT person but stayed half a minute in a non monitored setting with only oxygen running. And what up with that right eye? Looks like she also suffered some head injuries too so that would account for attacking Ms. Bubbly.

Nellie: There were rumors about a second part but what they were actually planning was to turn the story into a play and I thought they were serious about that. The only problem now is that Televisa had promised Angelique Boyer to RCN (the main network in Colombia) for a telenovela and I don't know how they will work that.

With the way the novela ends, I think a second part is imposible.

Jarocha

Fer's eye reminds me of David Zepeda's eye in STuD. lol. I can't wait til that gets healed up. Looked creepy on Zepeda, and it's doubly so on Fer.

I have not been watching Teresa. I barely have time for TdA, and I'm also trying to keep up with PVaA (it's really good.)
