Cuando Me Enamoro #27 Friday 5/27/11 Antonio has a sad past, Matias loses his cool fast, and the Monterrubio family are once again aghast.

Evening, all! Sorry for the delay. I'll forgo extra chatter and get to what we've been waiting for...

Opening the show, we are treated to supremely depressing re-play of Renata resigning from Empresas Monterrubio.

Regina asks Antonio why he never told her about his past. She wants to hear the story from him. Tony never told because he had to learn how not to live like a victim and Regi has been the perfect example for him. Regi gives him a tepid kiss. She is starting to like Tony more and more as she gets to know him.

Gonzalo vents to Honorio about the Renata situation. "I'm not going to let her leave the house or the company!" Honorio is sure that once Renata has made up her mind, she will stick to it. But that isn't to say she will never come back. Give it a few months and maybe Ren will want to return. Gonzo had never thought of that. He asks Honorio to watch over Renata and let him know what her plans are. Hon readily agrees; he already knows that Renata has moved in with Adriana. But he does have some very unpleasant news...(Yes! Out with it!)...but Matias storms into the office and interrupts. Drat. Gonzo tells Mat about Renata's resignation.

Adriana and Renata regroup in the office. Adri thinks Ren is being a little too hasty with her decisions. Ren says it would be far too awkward for her to stay. She hopes that Mat will stop hating her but, until then, she has to leave. "If you leave, I'm going with you." Renata appreciates it but refuses to let Adri quit. Adri needs the work so she can support her mother. They tearily promise to stay amigas and to stay connected with each other. Aww.

Matias doesn't like that Renata is resigning, especially since it means that Ren is mixing her personal life with business. "I'm annoyed but I am not the only loser who wants to ruin Renata." On that odd note, Matias stalks off. Gonzo laments that all his plans for Renata and Matias have gone down the tubes.

Chema the delivery boy drops off some more fruit and flirts a little more with Constanza. The conversation turns to Antonio and Coni tells Chema about Tony's past. "Antonio was bullfighting in Spain and his wife and daughter were traveling to see him. The airplane failed and it crashed. He lost his entire family in an instant." Chema thinks maybe that's why Tony gets along so well with Regi. They both have a lot of suffering in their pasts.

Coincidentally, Tony is relating the same story to Regi. He lost his wife Marina and his daughter Tamara in the plane accident. He held out futile hope for years that they were still alive because their bodies were never recovered from the wreckage. But, in time, he came to accept the sad truth. Tony quit bullfighting because it always upset his daughter. She was afraid he would be killed in a bullfight but it turns out that she was the one who ended up dying. Pobre Tony.

Antonio says he identified with Regi and understands what it feels like to want to die of depression and anguish. Regi is both touched and saddened.

Renata sadly packs up her desk as Jero calls. Ren tells him she is leaving the Empresa. Jero feels responsible but Renata says it was her decision. "Do you regret it?" Jero asks. "Finding you and your love? No way." Says Renata. After hanging up, Jero is confused. "Something here doesn't coincide, Renata. With me, you don't care to lose everything and yet no matter what Rafael offered you - it wasn't enough. Why, Renata, why?"

Selene and Roberta sunbathe by the pool and discuss Fina's master plan. Sele is surprised that Fina would ask Robbie to sleep with Matias but she thinks it's the better option than an abortion. Roberta knows her mother often does things that no other mother would. "Are you sure that you and Renata are her hijas? She is so cruel to Renata. If I didn't know better, I would swear you two were adopted." Sele says. Roberta chuckles.

Honorio and Gonzo finally get a spare minute to discuss the helicopter fiasco. Honorio found out who was behind the photoshopped pictures and the copter rental. Gonzo is shocked. "Renata's reputation is in doubt again, I thought maybe there was nothing to clear up anymore." Seriously? Gonzo, go sit in the dunce corner for awhile and think about what you're saying.

"No, Gonzo! Renata is totally innocent regarding those pictures." Honorio explains. "Two people were involved. One was Baquero's son Diego and the other was your daughter Roberta." Gonzo looks like he was hit by a ton of bricks. "Are you sure?" Yep, the entire thing was Roberta's idea. Gonzo calls Fina and demands that Roberta be home when he gets there; no excuses. Dear Robbie might finally be caught!

Matias has a hissy fit in his office and shouts at the secretary. Jero has showed up to talk with him. Mat grabs Jero by the lapels. "I never want to see you again in my life! I am not a sore loser but you betrayed me! You know what she meant to me and how much I loved her!" Now who's letting personal feelings get in the way at work, Mr. Inappropriate...er...Matias? Gonzo storms over just in time to keep things from getting too physical. Jero apologizes for causing a scene; he only wanted to talk things out. The entire office rushes over to get the scoop on what's going on.

Gonzo is blunt as ever. "Get out. You aren't welcome here." Honorio steps in and says Jero should discuss this with Mat another time, in a more appropriate place. Jero tells Matias to come find him if he ever wants to talk. "It was never my intention to hurt you." Jero gives up the fight when Renata asks him to leave. "You know where to find me if you wish to." Matias nearly foams at the mouth as Honorio drags him away. Gonzo, ever-so-smoothly, tells everyone to get back to work.

Roberta tells Selene that her mom is "unconventional" (in that she loves sharp objects and plotting vile deeds) but she is not going along with her plan this time. Fina calls and orders Robbie to come home, Gonzo has demanded to see her; something might have happened to mess up their plans.

Outside the Empresa, Renata wishes Jero hadn't caused such a scene. "You've made Matias even more angry than he already was!" Jero couldn't help it. He gives her a comforting hug.

Matias is spitting fire but Gonzo tells him to cool it. Renata will be gone soon and then he can relax. Gonzo agrees with Honorio that accepting Renata's resignation is the best thing for now. Gonzo tells Matias that everyone is meeting that night because they discovered that Roberta is behind the picture scandal. Mat doesn't want to go. It bothers him too much to see the woman he loves with another man.

Ines and Isidro ask the doctor what would happen if neither of them could be donors for Andrescito. The doctor says they will cross that bridge when they get there. Meanwhile, Doña Cata chats with Andres. He is sure he will be fine because he made a pact with Dios; if God lets him live and takes away his parents' suffering, Andres will grow up to be a doctor so he can care for children who have leukemia. Cata tears up and gives him a hug.

Renata wants nothing to do with the family meeting. Honorio pleads with her to show up to clear her name. Renata already feels like a disappointment to her family and doesn't want to upset them more. "Life is full of troubles!" Hon says. "But everyone does crazy things in the name of love. Sooner or later, everyone will understand." Honorio, you are too awesome. And I had to laugh that they gave him the line "En nombre del amor", considering that Alfredo Adame was on that show and it had the same producer as CME. Was it a coincidence or are they throwing an in-joke at us novela-junkies? ;)

Renata gives Tio Honorio a hug in thanks and agrees to show up. Adriana gives her amiga a hug and wishes she had an uncle like Honorio. Oh, how I love dramatic irony.

Meanwhile at the vineyard, Doctor Nesme slithers out into the field to see Alfonsina. Alfi admits she is afraid of Agustin; he could put her whole family on the street. The doctor would put his job on the line before he let Agustin get rid of Alfi. He holds her hands and says the vineyard could not function without her love and care.

Karina gets a little relationship advice from Padre Severino, which is not exactly the place I would look for couples counseling. Padre thinks Lazaro is still carrying a torch for Karina and that Alvaro is not living up to Karina's expectations. Padre is sure Lazaro will get over it sooner or later. He knows a ranch where Lazaro can work to take his mind off of it. Karina doesn't think Lazaro would like working so far away but she doesn't know what else they can do.

Carlos talks to a lawyer about the vineyard business. Carlos had the papers notarized but the lawyer says such paperwork usually takes weeks to process; Agustin wants it done in only one week. The lawyer is headed out there personally since Agustin is already the owner of the harvest. Carlos is not afraid of Agustin and tells the lawyer that he better have done the paperwork by the book, regardless of Agustin's threats.

Constanza hurriedly tells Regina that she has to run home early because of a family meeting involving Renata and Roberta. Regi is accommodating as always.

Adriana helps Renata pack up the car, assuring her amiga that she won't be in the way no matter how long she needs to stay with them. Adri comments how odd her mother behaved after seeing Honorio again and meeting Constanza. "My Ma said she and Honorio had nothing in common anymore and that his wife was a beautiful, distinguished woman while she is old and worn out." The amigas are mystified as to why Agatha would feel that way.

Gonzo gets home and demands that Roberta and Fina come with him to Hon and Con's house, where everyone is waiting.

Jero's contact in Spain, Almudena, tells him all is going well with his business. Great, says Jero. Send me a letter that says my entire empire is failing. "Qué the heck?" Almudena thinks. Jero wants to find out if someone is actually interested in him or only in his dinero. She agrees. Blech, FFWD.

Fina and Roberta are riled immediately once Renata shows up at the casa. Gonzo explains that Honorio has discovered who doctored the photos and rented the helicopter.

Renata: Who was it?
Honorio: A guy named Diego Lara.
Gonzo: This wretch didn't work alone. There was someone else who planned the whole thing.
Honorio: That person is you, Roberta!
Roberta: I did no such thing!
Fina: How dare you accuse my daughter of something so low!
Honorio: I have proof!

Honorio ushers Diego himself into the party. "It was Roberta." Diego says. All eyes are on Robbie, who squirms a little.

Regi wonders what could be going on with Coni's family. "Why do I worry so much about Renata and her family?" Not exactly the opportune moment to be wondering that because we would rather be watching Roberta get grilled at the moment.

Hooray! We return to the interrogation quickly. Diego viciously tells the group that Roberta planned the entire helicopter scandal. Roberta sobs to Gonzo that it is a lie. "Of course it's true!" Diego says coldly. "We planned it all together and figured it would have the best effect if we did it during Matias's party so the entire world would see."

Renata sits on the couch, Adriana at her side. It is Roberta's turn to plead her innocence to Gonzalo. "I swear it wasn't me! Why does no one believe me." Robbie cries. "Everyone is always against me." Roberta starts in on Diego but he has no sympathy. "I warned you that I was not going to go down alone if we got caught. You swore no one would find out"

Renata finally finds her voice. "Why would you do this to me? Humiliate in such a way. Why did you do it?" Tia Coni pipes in. "Out of resentment! Out of envy of Renata!" Roberta claims she never envied Ren. Adriana scoffs. "Of course you did! And Diego helped you because Renata rejected him." Bullseye for Coni and Adri!

Fina, unfortunately, finds her voice as well. "Enough foolishness! Roberta is the rightful victim of all Renata's actions." Gonzo asks Roberta for the truth. Roberta squeals that it isn't true. Diego mouths off some more and Fina makes to slug him until Gonzo pulls her away. Gonzo rips Diego a new one and promises to tell his padre what he's done. Diego has a few final words before leaving. "Roberta hates Renata. She has always hated her and would do anything to hurt her. Renata, she is your worst enemy."

Renata stands while Fina protectively holds Roberta.

Renata: Why do you hate me? We're sisters, Roberta.
Coni: She hates you because she wishes she were like you but can't be.
Robbie: Shut up! I know you're trying to separate my family.
Coni: I'm not trying to separate anyone! I'm only telling the truth. It is more evident than ever that all your negativity towards your sister is because she is better than you and you know it! (Ouch! The truth hurts, no?)

Gonzo steps in. He still isn't sure about Roberta's innocence. "Tell me the truth, Roberta."
Robbie's tears flow anew. "Papa, Renata and I are very different. We never got along well but hating her is something entirely different. Please believe me for once in your life!" Roberta clings to Gonzalo and faints mid-sob. The room erupts into more chaos than before.

After the commercial, Regina chats with Doña Cata. She supports Regi's new outlook on life and encourages her to take a chance on Antonio.

Things have settled down at the battle ground. Roberta is awake and feeling better. She makes a final plea to Gonzo. "I am innocent. Please stop constantly accusing me of things I didn't do." If Gonzo believes her after always putting Renata through the ringer, I will slap a fictional character upside the head. For real, you guys.

Fina and Robbie take their leave. Gonzo tells Renata that they need to talk soon, when she feels up to it. Adriana says Roberta deserves and Oscar for her crocodile tears and fainting spell. Renata sincerely thanks Honorio for investigating and finding the truth. Honorio never doubted her and neither did Constanza. They both lay a hand on top of Renata's and guarantee that they will always be her family and she will always have a place to stay with them. Tripple Aww.

Once in the safety of home, Fina corners Gonzo. She lays into him for putting Roberta in front of the firing squad, especially since she has a heart condition. "Leave Roberta alone! Your whole family is against her, pobrecita." Gonzo agrees to back off for a while, but this conversation is far from over.

Fina then turns her rage onto Roberta. "You were a fool to trust Diego!" Rob never wants to see him again in her life but Fina wants her to go beg him to retract his story. "Do it or everything will be ruined! You have to earn back Gonzalo's trust so you can lure Matias, understood?"

Roberta is upset that her own madre is asking her to sleep with a man just so her madre can keep her social position. "Not just my place." Says Fina. "Yours too." Roberta is still annoyed. "Am I really your daughter?" Roberta asks. Fina laughs a bitter, villainous laugh. "What silly things you say. If you weren't my daughter, I would not care about your future. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices to keep what we desire."

Avances: Fina tells Roberta that it's now or never to enact their plan. Lots of little snippets cut together so we can't tell a thing going on.

Vocab:

Si tú te vas, me voy a ir contigo - If you leave, I will go with you. (Adriana to Renata)
Todo se vino abajo - Everything fell apart. (Gonzo about his plans for Ren/Mat).
Se estrelló - It crashed (Tony's family's plane)
Mal perdedor - Bad/sore loser (Matias to Jero)
Sinsabores - Troubles (What Honorio calls Renata's family problems)
Hacer la poda - To do the pruning (What needs to be done at the vineyard)
Atropellar las fotos - To doctor/photoshop pictures (literally "to run down/trample" photos)
No me iba a hundir sólo - I would not go down alone (Diego to Roberta)

Comments:
Gotta say, I am a big fan of Jeronimo, love his smile, think he's very sexy, have enjoyed the tender moments between him and Renata now that they finally got together BUT what a big Mr. Inappropriate activity -- if I understood the Skype conversation correctly. He tells Renata that he can't stand liars and he prepares a huge lie to fool her. So far he's only been keeping the full truth from her (as if that weren't enough) but now he is planning to fake evidence and actively lie to her. Mr. I for sure! Although up til then my vote had been for Matias inappropriate office behavior. Get a grip, Mati!

I missed it. Did Diego finger Fina too?

Boy, all the men on this novella are criers, thought Antonio was going to rend his garments.

A in Baraboo.

I really need to watch this. I keep meaning to but it is on at a bad time and it isn't one of the telenovelas that can be found On Demand. I guess I'll have to see about finding it online.

Yeah - it bothers me too the amount of lying the Jero is setting up. Renata's "lies" were tiny fibs told to a stranger who was pressuring her. Not her real name and that she was meeting a boyfriend (i.e. was not alone). Perfectly reasonable things to do under the circumstances - she owed him absolutely nothing. Especially after what a total jerk he was accusing her of stalking him and stealing his wallet.

I'm still laughing about the time Renata called Jero "Don Perfecto" at the airport. The look on his face! LOL!

Now he is setting up a HUGE lie to "test" Renata. Wow! And he is still keeping quiet about Rafa being dead? Especially when he thinks Renata had something to do with it?

But I have to admit I love the "I'm in love with her but I can't quite trust her" story line. Something has to provide the romantic tension and reasons for fights!!! This one looks like a DOOZY! I'm really looking forward to Renata finding out what Jero has been up to behind her back and the presumptions he has been operating under all this time! Renata is going to be devastated (well, I'm not looking forward to that part, just to Jero getting a well deserved life lesson).

Barbara - if you search for CMESDET on dailymotion.com you will find all the episodes.

I also second - Mati get a grip! Enough already. Grow up!

Audrey

Guera--you beat me to it. I was poised to point the finger at Jeronimo for Mr. Inappropriate--but I was going to label him that for showing UP at the office at all, after Ren begged him not to interfere with her clean up and despedida. I think the bigger transgression is the one you brought up. Shame on him!

More tomorrow after the recap. 'Night everyone.

My word verification is muzza--they should put one on Roberta.
NOK

Thanks Amy for that sparkling recap, the vocabulary, and those personal asides that always crack me up.

But I think my favorite line was "Dr. Nesme slithers out...." Wow. Never have I seen an actor who gives me the heebie-jeebies like that guy. Perfect for the role of course.

Bummed at how well Roberta acted the role of Injured Innocent. Looks like she's going to wriggle out of this one too.

Need some sweet lovin' scenes after all this sturm und drang. Hope the writers throw us a bone.

Hope everybody's having a great weekend. I'm trimming bushes and pulling out the great gobs of weeds that have flourished in the almost non-stop rain we're experiencing in Ohio. No tornados though, so not complaining.

Thanks so much for the excellent recap! I am starting to get into this novela a bit more. Am wondering what will happen next!

Amy, this is great. I love your editorial comments and observations. You really gave a light-hearted feel to a pretty dark episode. Thanks.

Of course, my vote for Mr. Inappropriate goes to Jerry, that lover of truth, for wanting to concoct an outrageous lie to test Renata... jerk.

He had some stiff competition from:

himself... for showing up at the empresa

Matias... for escalating a bad situation

Chema... for flirting with Coni... she's happily married and old enough to be your... er... uh... aunt. Have you met Roberta?

Diego... for ratting out Roberta (no doubt an unpopular choice)

I love the way that Gonzo starred at Roberta as she pleaded with him... it was as though he was noticing for the first time that she has three eyes.

So Marina and Tamara's bodies were never found after the plane crash? Hmmm... have folks ever turned up alive after being missing for years after a plane crash in TNs? Do hamsters line dance?

Ines and Isidro have just jinxed the possibility of either of their marrows being compatible.

I hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend.

Carlos

Amy- I agree with everyone that your funny asides made a dark episode seem fun!

If Gonzo falls for Roberta's lies after throwing Reneta under the bus, I'm done with him. I was sort of done with him when he basically said that Renata falling in love with Jero proved that the naked pictures thing MUST be true. Oh yeah, because falling in love equates being a slut. Thank goodness for Honorio. He might have been Mr. I in his past dealings with Agi, but at least he's improved with age.

As for the decision about who should leave the biz- all I can say is that if I were one of their clients, I would prefer the VP be the adult who acknowledges her mistakes, takes responsibility, and calmly moves on, instead of the guy who cancels meetings out of spite, goes crying and whining to everyone, and then has angry violent outbursts in the office. It's Matias who needs a timeout, perhaps at a mountain retreat far, far away, and Renata who should stay and manage the business.

Shame on Don Perfecto, old Honest Hero, for concocting a lie to fool Renata. Just ask her already if she knew Rafa! But of course, we would have no novela if this got out too soon.

Great recap, flores/Amy--dialog plus nuance covered lots of yelling, signifying nothing, from the Monterrubios.

Anon in Baraboo--No Diego did not finger Fina. Only Roberta, thus exonerating (or trying to above the ruckus) Renata.

Rob's pregnancy. She's still ambivilent, but, telenovela law is that you don't abort once a baby gets started, so Rob has these options:

1) Scam Matias into marriage and carry the baby to term to become the first Montrrubio grandchild (Fina's plan). Poor baby. Matias wonders how a 9.5oz. baby could be two months premature. He hires the same licenciado that Fina did and is assured that it is as it seems. Baby gets sick, needs blood and the whole scam comes unraveled.

2) Scam Matias into marriage and then miraculously miscarry because of her heart defect and then has to figure out how to divorce Matias so she can carry on with her care-free life (Fina's apoplectic).

3) She's on her way to seduce Matias and is hit by a bus and loses the criatura (Tn's favorite plot device to preserve morals; Fina's not happy, but is happy to have her daughter live). Rob doesn't have to marry Mat and that leaves the door open for Adri without any complications.

4) Fina imprisons her in a manicomio to make sure she carries to term. Roberta then really goes crazy. (highly unlikely--this tn hasn't dealt with really off the wall solutions--remember poor Liliana).

5) She reveals to Gonzo (can't get over that we're having to use the same name for Lili's daddy here) that the baby daddy is the same Rafael who used to work there. Gonzo is impactado and in a conversation with Matias and Jeronimo spills the beans knowing what an escandalo this will be for the family. Jer tells Ren, baby is born, they adopt the criatura (with Rob's blessing, as long as she never sees either one again), move to the hacienda and live happily ever after.

Wait a minute. Does ANYONE in town know that Jeronimo and Rafael were brothers, except for Jer himself and Regina? Maybe she'll be the conduit for that piece of information to Gonzalo, once they start having longer lunches and "meetings."

We haven't discounted Fina's role. The closer she comes to losing control, the more desperate become her actions. We just have to wait and see the fun.

Too bad Jer wants to test Ren's amor para siempre. He doesn't have too many other options. Remember he was musing to himself that with Rafa, she rejected him because he couldn't give her enough, yet she was willing to perder todo for Jer's love. Just asking her what her relationship was to Rafa isn't going to clear the air.
NOK

P.S.--Guera. I'm with you on Jeronimo. After FC and Guy Ecker (with WmLvy's besos thrown in the mix) I didn't think I could fall for anyone else. I'm very impressed with Juan Soler's interpretation of a suave, sophisticated, mature and intelligent gentleman.
NOK

Came in from the heat here in Cleveland (can't believe I actually said that) and relaxing with a cool drink and your great recap. And thanks for the great vocabulary. Few little gems in there I just might use myself.

I was on the fence with either Gonzo or Jer as Mr. I, but I think everyone convinced me that Jer is the better choice today. I get why he's doing the fake letter, but it's really underhand and after making the big "I don't like liars" spiel, just, well, inappropriate.

I just love how Honorio and Connie stand behind Nata when her own supposed family is constantly questioning her, as if she hasn't grown up among them at all ( Hello, Gonzo???). And Matias is starting to act more like a spoiled little boy than a grown man who had been TOLD by said lady that she wasn't in love with him. I guess I've never, in all my over fifty years, gotten this "you can't pursue someone if you're my friend even if the person and I blantantly didn't work out. If you do, you betray me and I'm not your friend". It doesn't work out, it doesn't work out and if they find real love with someone you just happen to know...LIVE WITH IT! Rant for the day.

So we've been set up that at some point Antonio's mysterious wife and/or daughter will surface. The "never found the bodies" - I'm thinking staged crash so she could run off with someone else or was injured, forgot who she was and is out there somewhere. Gonzo and Regina have to get together eventually and this gives Antonio someone else...( I'm not thinking he's a bad guy who offed the wife since others seem to know him well.)

Gotta go check on the roast chicken - everyone wants to eat in as there are storms a'comin. Then I may re-watch the UEFA final - Yeah Barca!!!

Amy, thanks so much for a terrific recap. I loved your snarky comments, and I'm very grateful for the Spanish vocab. You included many phrases I wondered about.

Newbie, you had me in stitches over your predictions for likely telenovela scenarios to deal with Roberta's pregnancy. Brava!

Carlos, I too was wondering about whether Antonio's wife and daughter might yet turn up. This is a telenovela, after all. The wife and daughter's return would parallel Regina's finally being reunited with Renata and would give Antonio a happy ending, since Regina is almost certainly going to be matched with Gonzo. (Frankly, given the choice between Antonio and Gonzo, I think I'd opt to remain single, but....)

I think it is about time, I stopped by here to say thankyou all for the great summaries. I would be lost without them. I am learning the spanish, but it is slow going. Watching the Novela, then reading the summary, then rewatching once again, helps me to bring it all together. I enjoy reading the summaries and can tell you all enjoy doing this. It shows in your work, style, humor ect. Just to let you all know it is appreciated!

Marylou

Amy, I couldn't wait to get home tonight to watch the episode and read your recap. I just KNEW it would be scathingly brilliant and it was. Gracias amiga.

Marylou, I'm so glad you stopped by. Believe it or not watching telenovelas with the aid of recaps really can help you to learn Spanish. It's the most fun way ever. By the way, if you ever have specific questions regarding scenes, conversations or phrases please don't hesitate to ask. Someone here, recappers or commenters, will surely be able to answer. Your kind words are a big boost to all of us.

Oh hallelujah, Antonio has a wife and daughter stranded on a desert island somewhere. That will leave Regina free to hook up with Gonzo. Come on y'all, you know they're destined for each other no matter how many time he's on the Mister Inappropriate Hall of Shame.

It was so very satisfying to see Roberta at the receiving end of accusations for one. OK, I know she'll slither out of it somehow but for tonight let me be happy. Starting tomorrow all I can say is...Vivi, get out your slapping glove because I'll bet Gonzo's head is going to have a target on it.

Newbie, great scenarios. You should be on the writing staff to inject a little much-needed originality.

Oh Jero, you sexy dog. You're such a hypocrite! For your premeditated lie you will receive my vote for Mr. Inappropriate.

Thanks again Amy. Your comprehension of the rapid-fire and mumbling conversations in this episode is truly impressive. Your vocab list rocks.

Sylvia--No originality in the scenarios--I've seen them before. I think the writers either have a wheel of fortune they spin and whatever number it lands on, that's the scenario they use--or they have all the possibilities in a hat and pick one out blindfolded.

Dang! Univision's Tvynovela's premios 2011 actually was a spoiler for what happens. I won't spoil it for folks who didn't see it, but COULDN'T they have used a different clip for Gonzo.
NOK

Thank you so much Amy! I didn't catch the conversation between Jero and his assistant, and turned out it was key! On the preview, I coulda sworn I saw Roberta splayed out in somebody's bed. Would they be so twisted as to let Jero be the drugged inseminator? Nah! Mat's the target I guess. Roberta will have to claim gestational diabetes when her babe tips the scale past nine pounds.

What a frickin' pimp Fina is, can't wait to see her get hers.

Khalilah

Hey! You know what? I think Jero might be the alleged sperm donor and Renata will be so distraught and Augi, who has always seemed to accurately guage her emotional barometer, will come to the rescue and she will marry him but be unable to consumate for - fill in the blank - Jero, saddled with Roberta and the miracle preemie, will continue to seek vengeance against them both and won't realize he was wrong til a lightening bolt strikes the bough where "Rafa and Roberta" is carved and it literally (not fatally) hits him in the head! Lots of plot holes there, but so are there often in the "real" version.

And, thanks, NOK, for not sharing that spoiler scene in the premios, I didn't watch for fear of that!

Khalilah

Sylvia, It is nice to know that there is a place to go if I have a question now and then. Between the summaries and the comments I read here I am pretty much taken care of. Everyone is on top of it all! I would like to say how much I am enjoying Jeronimo and Renata. Juan Soler and Silvia Navarro are really making these characters come alive. With the fake letter stating that his business has failed, Jeronimo is setting himself up more than setting up Renata. Knowing Renata she will be very concerned for him and this will only add to his confusion. I am afraid he is in for a setback with Renata once she realizes he used it as a way to test her. This will not be a good thing. I can understand Jeronimo wanting to know the truth as he has fallen for her big time. He should come clean and tell her Rafael is his brother. That would be too easy though. I think Jeronimo is a decent person and I can understand his frustration that he is going through, but he is going at it the wrong way. I hate to see Renata hurt once again. Like I said on the CME forum I think that when this happens we will get some intense acting from these two. Looking forward to tonights episode. It looks like a good one! :)

Marylou

Khalila--Love your scenario even better. This would likely happen if the baby's blood is analyzed for DNA and it can't rule out Jer (since he's a brother to Rafa).

Poor Renata--she's destined to be hurt again and again before this is over. Tears will flow, forehead veins will pop, hair will fly, anger and anguish will be written all over her face.

Three cheers for Renata being played Silvia Navarro and not Lucero (I do love Lucero, she can do all the above beautifully, just don't like her hiccup style of crying). She should have won last night instead of Angelique Boyer.
NOK

I really enjoyed the recap. Thanks so much.

Jero for Mr. I - for all the reasons stated.

Can't wait for tonight, maybe we'll see who Roberta shacks up with??

I can't believe Fedra lost to Fina last night for best villain-ess. Most of my favorites lost. Guess that says more about me than Televisa, huh!

Judy, I see y'all lost your coach. Is this a good thing? I haven't been paying attention, what with being a UK fan and all..........

Yah, NOK, it seems too early for Jero and Renata's love to be realized, seems to beg for a loveless marraige or two to intervene. If Jero marries Roberta, it will definitely be loveless, I think Renata could really think she loves Augie -- WE know he's a baddie but he can be charming and he IS fine. I agree with Güera and others who say Jero is unfair in his set up of Renata and he IS hiding a much bigger secret which will be hurtful when she finds out -- would the writers let her find out he lied about his financial health AND was that Rafa is dead, and hid that he is Rafa's brother as well as think he fathered Roberta's baby all at once? That certainly would equal a season's worth of the tension-building separation they seem to love so well! We'll see I guess!

Amy/Flor, Thanks for the awesome recap. I was out of the room when Antonio revealed his bull fighting occupation and the airplane crash causing his wife and daughter to be lost. But, some of the readers are suggesting they may pull into port on an old fish boat, hmmmm...

And I can't wait for Jero, (yes, one more vote for Mr. I ) to pull his his honest but poor letter out of his hat. He said it had to be truly convincing because she is such a crack business brain, so let's see if she is paying attention to the details, hmmmm.....

Regina and Antonio don't really deserve to be lost in a pity party kind of love. Both could do better.

Jeri can't be the seducer unless they get the mediocre dna testing lab to do the proof later since who would pay close attention to whether he is the babydaddy or babyuncle. I think poor schlub Matias will get his payback for beint a crybaby and have to put up with the furies Roberta and Fina for his family unit for a time. Maybe Gonzo can eascape the nightmare to have some quality lunches with Regina, but that might be a different pity party til near the end. And, I didn't watch all of the award show so don't know the spoiler. Thanks for not telling.

See you all in a couple of hours. Willa and I are going to get our teeth sandblasted down by the Rio Grande, I sure wish we could get some rain instead of the constant wind which must be the backend of all the tragic storms in the midwest.

@Emilia..I am heartbroken that Coach Tressel resigned. So is my youngest daughter who called me at noon when she heard, she was so distraught. This is a wonderful standup guy who's done great things for his players and the whole community. The best of the best in my opinion. But he tried to protect his players and keep the truth of their mistakes coming out and it's snowballed into a big mess. I am so sad for him and for Columbus. But so it goes.

Our own local telenovela with betrayals, poor decisions and lots of pain. The sturm und drang of Cuando Me Enamoro will be a welcome distraction. Along with Colunga in Alborada starting tomorrow!
