Teresa Thu 5/26/11 #65 No just compensation for sleeping with Professor Hottie. Life is unfair.

TERESA EPISODE 65, May 26, 2011

TECHNICAL NOTE: I am still without HD but I did screencaps in fairly good quality SD (Standard Definition). Please click on all screencaps to see a higher quality image.

We start with a flashback of Martin telling Paloma that Teresa dated Mariano and Mariano showed up and made a big scene at the wedding. Paloma is impactada and remembers seeing Mariano and Teresa kissing once.

Now it's the wedding night and I'm going to try to recap this (rather brief and kind of depressing) wedding night, Harlequin Romance style. (As an aside, I got one of my sisters—who doesn't know any Spanish but enjoys hearing me tell her about these soaps—to watch tonight's episode! LOL. She actually was able to follow along pretty well and she may catch Alborada. Because, you know, Fernando Colunga and all . . . Anyway.)

THE WEDDING NIGHT, HARLEQUIN ROMANCE STYLE

In Cancun, the lights are dim as Arturo carries Teresa over the threshold of their luxury hotel room. He gently lowered her down as they linger over a kiss. The lights are low as flickering candles are placed in strategic spots around the room and rose petals are sprinkled on the expansive bed. Teresa gasps as she looks around the beautiful room and Arturo smiles adoringly, following close behind her.

Carried over the threshold.

"How beautifully everything is decorated!" she smiles.

"Yes, my love," he says, reaching for her and clasping her hands while gazing at her adoringly. "Now you are my wife—and finally you are going to be my woman." (I'm losing something in the translation here but I think we get what he's getting at and so does Teresa because the shark music plays and she gives this uncertain look. Thank you Audrey for extra clarification!)

At the Chavez household, a weepy Esperanza is telling Refugio and Armando what's going on. The dad of Aida is also the baby daddy. She had an affair with a married man! Why didn't she say before? She was afraid, she says. She seems so ashamed. Maybe it's better that she go, they seem to agree.

Back to our Harlequin Romance wedding night …

Teresa turns to Arturo and smiles. "Yes, the moment we've been waiting for so long is here," she breathes, "But as a result I'm very nervous" she says as she looks away shyly.

"Ah, champagne! Shall we have a cup? I want to toast to us!" she said. Smiling, he agrees and proceeds to open the bottle. It opens with a resounding "pop!" as Teresa jumps nervously and Arturo laughs, caressing her with his eyes.

At Casa Chavez I think Armando is thinking that Esperanza better leave because this involves big shots (Rubigote and his wife) but Refugio is worried about what will happen to Esperanza. Armando apologetically says that this might indirectly affect Teresa because she's married to Professor Hottie. Esperanza tearfully says she understands. Don't worry, she'll go in the morning. Refugio is quite concerned about Esperanza. But Esperanza (I think) wants to go because she says she doesn't want Rubigote or Aida to know that she's pregnant.

Harlequin Romance wedding night …

Arturo and Teresa's champagne glasses tinkle musically as they make a toast. Teresa drinks her champagne quite a bit faster than Arturo does and then they both put down their glasses. Teresa looks stiff and nervous. Arturo gently looks into her eyes. This is the moment he has been waiting for, oh, all this time. This very very long time.

The nervous bride.

"You are so beautiful, Teresa." he whispers huskily. "I love you and I want you to have total confidence in me." He leans in for a kiss, tenderly peppering her face and then neck with slow, sensual kisses. Teresa purses her lips slightly, tense and uncomfortable at Arturo's ministrations.

"Teresa, Teresa, you are lovely" Arturo breathes between slow, burning, passionate kisses. But all Teresa can think of is her recent night of passion with Mariano. As Arturo continues to kiss her face and neck, Teresa slowly puts her arms around his neck and returns his kisses. The passion of their kisses deepens.

And we cut to…

Mariano, laying on his bed garbed in only sweatpants, with his fabulous abs in full display. (My sister made special comment about Mariano and his abs!)

Great abs, dude.

Mariano is also remembering that recent night of passion with Teresa. He calls Aida and leaves a message saying he doesn't want to live in the past and he'd like to give them a chance.

After the lovin' in Cancun, Professor Hottie is out for the count but Teresa is staring into space, suppressing her tears. So this is what it feels like to prostitute herself, I guess she is thinking. She turns on her side and curls up into a little ball, remembering the passionate words of love between her and Mariano.

Suppressed tears on the wedding night.

Aida comes over to Mariano's place in the middle of the night. He's still just wearing the sweatpants but she doesn't visibly notice the great abs. She's crying and ranting about her dad and Esperanza and complaining saying that Esperanza is a friend of Teresa and then getting angry at Mariano because he knew and never told her.

Back from the date between Juana and Hector the Director. They had a great evening out but now she's really tired and wants to collapse in bed. She also says that Teresa is going on a honeymoon for about two months and in truth Juana has missed her house. The neighborhood has been her life, with all the people and her stuff. Hector the Director says understanding things. Hector the Director moves in for a kiss but Juana starts to yawn, then apologizes. Hector leaves after giving her a goodnight kiss.

More drama with Aida shrieking at Mariano about the whole Esperanza/Rubigote affair thing and Teresa's involvement in it. FF>>>

A knock on Juana's door. She thinks it's Hector the Director but it's Cutieberto and he wants her back, lather rinse repeat. He is in his Mariachi costume and he gets on his knees in front of her. Lots of sweet talk and she chases him out. She's got a boyfriend already and she's a decent woman! Some cute horsesh*t as she threatens to hit him with a vase and he finally leaves.

I guess Teresa is not sufficiently impressed by Professor Hottie's great body.

In Cancun Professor Hottie finally wakes up and Teresa is not in bed. He shows off his fabulous bod as he goes out to the balcony where she is looking at the ocean. Tears are in her eyes and she looks absolutely stricken, but of course Professor Hottie is oblivious to all this and is instead blissfully happy.
Professor Hottie is oblivious to Teresa's distress.

He asks how she is, she says fine. She couldn't sleep and was thinking about how she's got all she wants now. Yeah right. Professor Hottie is touched and goes to hug her, saying "Me too." His face is one of perfect contentment but Teresa still looks stricken.

Not everyone is happy in this picture.

She pulls away from him. She wants to go have breakfast but he wants to have breakfast in bed with her. Yeah sure, she says.

Esperanza is leaving Casa Chavez, thanking Armando and Refugio for helping her when she needed it the most. Armando again apologizes, saying he's got to think of Teresa first. Esperanza understands. Refugio says make sure to tell us when you have the baby and I'll be sure to help you out.

Aida ranting and raving more about Esperanza and Teresa, this time with Rubigote. This time complaining because he was messing with a vecinidad girl or something. Whatever. He has more excuses. Lather, rinse, repeat. He wants her to help in reconcile with mom. She thinks he's got a lot of nerve.

Esperanza is still weepy, talking to Mariano about what's going down. Aida is pissed at Mariano, blah blah blah. She's still got to find a place to stay. Mariano talks philosophically about how Teresa is not his. It looks like he's finally maybe getting a clue about her and is gonna wash that girl out of his hair for good.

More ranting and raving between Aida and Rubigote about all his sins and blah blah blah.

In Cancun, Teresa and Professor Hottie are wandering along the beach. He says it's a pity but he's got to sign some papers or something. Teresa plays up to him and says she's gonna miss him, kissy kissy. Shark music plays. He turns to go and then turns back to her. She's already turned away, completely tuning him out. He has this hesitant look on his face for a second like he knows what she's thinking or is uncertain about her. She looks disgustedly back at him and says "Finally he left" (or something like that). Such a loving bride! She then says to herself that it's so beautiful, but the only thing missing is you, Mariano.

At the hospital, Aurora is having a crying jag because she lost her first patient. Mariano is there to comfort her and talk to her about it. He hugs her in an attempt to calm her down. Of course Martin comes in and sees.

Gen and Mayra are talking about Rubigote and stuff. Mayra is haunted by seeing Esperanza. Gen dismisses Espe as a naca. Don't worry about her. She's no rival for you. Gen asks Mayra what she's gonna do. Mayra is not sure, she's adored Rubigote for a long time. Gen says she understands, that's how it was with the dad of Paulo.

Geno pretends to be a friend to Aida.

As soon as Aurora sees Martin she rushes to him and tells him that she lost a patient and goes in for a hug and some Martin comfort. All very appropriate but I think Martin is a little concerned anyway.

More with Mayra and Geno. Geno is encouraging Mayra to divorce the mustache. Aida comes in and Marya tells her that she's going for (I think) an amicable divorce, but Aida does not want that. Rubigote hurt her pride terribly, make him pay through the mustache! (I'm going with a lot of mustache jokes today, sorry.)

At the hospital, Magda is giving Aurora some tea and words of comfort. Then Martin wants to have a talk. He wants to talk about their relationship before they have any pain. Uh oh.

More with Aida ranting and raving about making Rubigote pay. A lot of this has to do Teresa. Complain, complain, complain about Teresa.

Martin admits to Aurora that it bothered him to see her hugging Mariano. Is this the guy she has been trying to forget? Aurora assures him that Mariano only sees her as a friend and that's not going to change. They talk a little more and I think Aurora is saying maybe it would be better if they just ended it, but Martin doesn't want that. He's enjoyed being with her. She worries that he deserves more. No, it's okay, he says, it's a risk he's willing to take.

Geno asks Aida how come it is that Mariano was so sure that Teresa wasn't going to marry Professor Hottie. I missed some of the conversation but I think Geno is advising Aida to keep her enemies close so she can keep an eye on them. Aida gets a phone call and it's a message that Mariano left saying he wants to give it another go with her. She smiles smugly.

At the hospital things are happy between Martin and Aurora and they talk to Mariano. He gives Aurora a medical symbol as a pin or something. She thanks him.

Geno is asking Aida why she wants to see Mariano. She says that something very strong was between Teresa and Mariano. Maybe we can use that to make Professor Hottie leave Teresa. Geno wants to avenge the death of her son.

Mayra runs in and is in tears and screaming. I guess she found out that for so long Rubigote was stepping out on her with Esperanza. When they were in Paris (how long ago was that?) even! Mayra looks resolved and now she knows what she's going to do…

Martin is talking with Mariano about Aurora being upset about the patient's death. Mariano tells Martin that he views Aurora as a friend and that isn't going to change and he hopes that Martin will also consider him a friend. Time will tell, Martin says. He then says that now that Teresa is married, Mariano should be thinking of someone else. He then says that Aida is worried about him (Mariano). Mariano says that now Aida wants nothing to do with him.

At Cancun, Professor Hottie and Teresa are kissing in the massive pool and then eating fruit poolside. A sequences of scenes where Professor Hottie draws her name in the sand with a heart around it, but when Professor Hottie isn't looking, Teresa is writing "M y T" with a heart around it in the sand (several times she does this). What a bruja! Is Professor Hottie that bad? Seriously?

Now this is just childish.

More with Professor Hottie and Teresa frolicking at the beach and we have our mandatory telenovela kissing in water scene.

Obligatory Kissing In Water Scene. It's Telenovela Law, you know.

Martin is giving Aurora a bracelet. She thinks is lovely and she thanks him. He says he's got a special gift for her, it's some sort of cake. Yum! A servant brings it in and sets it on the table. It's so pretty she doesn't want to eat it, but he insists.

Sweetness in the form of Martin, and the cake.

Hector the Director is counseling Mariano, I think about his display at Teresa's wedding. Mariano says it's personal but Hector the Director says it's affecting his professional life. They talk about the good project they're working on and how it needs donations. They don't need a scandal. What if a picture got in a magazine of this whole thing? Hector the Director says he hopes there won't be any more scandals because if there are, they have a PROBLEM. He then talks something about having a woman by your side that doesn't want to be there. (I am getting tired so please forgive me here if I miss stuff!) You can tell that Hector the Director is talking about his own experiences here and he wants Mariano to listen to his advice.

Geno is talking with Paloma about the wedding of Professor Hottie, Rubigote and Mayra, blah blah blah. They talk about the pain of losing a child.

Johnny has been giving a ride to the loanshark/landlady in his taxi. Some talk about paying in installments, I think for somewhere for Esperanza to stay? Landlady doesn't promise anything. Here he will wait, he says. As he's standing there, the drug dealer guy (still cannot remember his name!) walks up and Johnny gulps nervously.

More conversation between Paloma and Geno. Geno I think is talking about finding the drug dealer.

Said drug dealer is talking to Johnny next to Johnny's cab. I think Johnny is aware of how Paulo died and cannot believe how drug dealer can put on such an innocent face. Then somehow the conversation goes to loaning Johnny money. "How much do you need?" drug dealer guy asks as he starts counting out from a stack of bills.

Johnny is uncomfortable with this offer of money.

Aurora is showing dad Hector the Director the bracelet she got from Martin and then the little medical pin she got from Mariano. She then asks dad if he's found anything out about mom. Dad hands her a card of some investigator who is going to look. He says he's not just doing it for Aurora, but also for Juana. Because she interests him, he says, sighing.

Cutieberto is asking a favor of Juana. He asks if Esperanza can stay with her.

Johnny takes the money from drug dealer guy. Oh dear! Johnny says he's accepting it because he has to, but he's gonna pay it back because he has his business. (The taxi driving I guess.)

Cutieberto helps Esperanza bring her stuff in to Juana's. Juana's happy to have her there. Some stuff falls out of one of Esperanza's bags. It's baby booties and clothes. They coo and ooh and aah over the clothes.

Cutiberto is coming downstairs and a woman has her back to him. She turns around and it's Mayra. She asks him if he knows a woman named Esperanza. Ever nosy and helpful Cutieberto says Sure! And tells her where to find her.

The happy couple slowly walking by the pool in Cancun. She's had a great time and she thanks him. Professor Hottie says it's what she deserves. Now, she says, it's on to Europe! She's really looking forward to that! It makes all this nasty sleeping with Professor Hottie business barely tolerable. (Well, she doesn't say that.) They're talking about Paris and then Professor Hottie gets a phone call. It is important. Professor Hottie looks severe and turns to her. He's sorry, but they can't have their European vacation. They've got to return to Mexico now. Our little shark is very unhappy. You can tell she is thinking that she's been robbed of her just compensation for having to tolerate sleeping with him. Life is so unfair!

Our little shark is not happy at the news that Europe is a no-go.

Great recap, Elvira, and great captions to the pictures! I am printing it out to take to the beauty shop to read!
I love how you can't get the captions to freeze on the screen. How do you do that?
With my cable TV, if you pause (I record this with DVR) the CC vanishes and is only on when it is playing. The CC piles up to 3 lines at a time, if a 4th line appears the second to the last line disappears instead of the first (and already read) line-this is always before I can see it-it is insane. This is what prevents me from recapping.

sorry, mean't how you CAN get the captions to freeze

Hi Elvira! Thanks for the recap.

I think Arturo was saying - "Now you are my wife, and finally you are going to be my woman" - you know, implying that he finally gets to sleep with her.

We all know poor Arturo has been waiting forever for this moment.

In Spanish they use the same word for wife and woman.

Audrey

I think Tiburoncita and her victim are going to have their first big marital fight at the top of tonight's episode. She may end up going to Paris alone.

Love the white dress she had on when they talked about Paris.

Audrey's on the money with the translation.

Tiburoncita definitely needs to have her head examined. If she thinks she can fleece Arturo, then Fernando, and have Mariano take her back she is greatly overestimating her appeal.

Thanks' so much Elvira! I always love your screen caps.

A woman can be "your woman", without being your wife. It implies having sex with, and being in a relationship with, a woman. But unless you're in some kind of strange sex-less marriage, then your wife is always your woman, hence the two terms are interchangable. But your mistress (implied sex), your long-term lover, your gf (who you have sex with), your life partner (implied sex), can all be called your woman. In TDA, Max is fond of reminding rival Alonso that Maria is "mi mujer", even while he was still married to someone else and although he has yet to put a ring on that girl's finger, despite them having a baby together.

I want to give a shout out to Refugio because I think she showed far more compassion than Armando with Espe. She was not in agreement with Espe having to leave. It's Armando who is now so concerned with appearances and tainting Teresa's good name (ha!). And Refugio told Espe to tell them where she is living as soon as she's found a place, and reminded her that she will be there to help her with the baby. The way it read made it seem like she was saying "See ya! Tell me when you have your baby." I think she plans to be there every step of the way for Espe, even if she can't live under her roof. She had also knitted that cute sweater and other things for the baby to go with the yellow booties she knitted a while back. We get on Refugio so much for the annoying stuff she does, so I wanted to take a moment to shine a light on the good.

I was NOT feeling sorry for Tere at all. Yeah, poor you. Having to sleep with a hot, loving, tender man. I think Art had another red flag moment when he turned around, expecting his "adoring" wife to also do the same, and found she had already forgotten his presence. And now he'll get another dose of bratty Teresa when she can't get her European vacation right away. A sign of things to come Art...

Beautiful, Elvira; thank you! I'll listen to that with my news articles.

Wow, what a waste of Arturo Teresa is. Get somebody in there who appreciates him -- like US!

I've been pondering Teresa and Fernando; he's no innocent. He's had a gazillion women. She might not find him such a pushover.

Hi all! I'm having to play catch up. Thanks to everyone for some terrific reading material during "quiet time". LOL! Wonderful screen caps again, Elvira and kudo's on your Harlequin technique!

IMHO, if Art was supposed to be a middle-aged drag they'd have put a less handsome guy to play him. Then I could have understood Tere's turning her nose up at him. I mean, hey, it's not like this guy is the Pillsbury Dough-Boy or belches during din-din and scratches his crotch in public, or speaks illiterate Spanish, or wears bi-focals and forgets where he is from one minute to the next!! He also isn't exactly graying or homely and --so far--he has shown no Mr. Hide side. Darn, I am so disappointed in this gal.

I'll say also, that I wonder how long it will be before Mariano sees what a real b!tch-witch Aida truly is. Looks like he's ready to settle for being used and abused by another self-absorbed, spoiled brat with an inferiority complex a mile long but with a temper worse than even Teresita's!

Elvira, pictures add SO much to a recap, and you captured some awesome moments. Thanks so much for the extra effort.

Of course it's just awful seeing beautiful Arturo go through all this. He thinks he is so in love, but he doesn't know Teresa AT ALL - so he is in love with an illusion. She did a good job of creating it though. And a lot of it has been Arturo's lust as well. But still - the guy is so completely clueless and simply doesn't pick up on so much key information - especially that Teresa doesn't love him at all, is not at all attracted to him physically (amazing!), and is totally in it for what he can give her. I wonder how he could be successful as a lawyer.

They are doing a really good job with this novela, and Angelique Boyer as Teresa was a brilliant casting decision. Even as I can't stand her, I find myself captivated.

I also find myself mesmerized by Teresa's hand gestures. Especially when she wiggles her finger in the uh-uh-uh-uh gesture. How does she do that?!?!? It's freaky.

Audrey

LOL at everybody!! Between this forum, telenovela world, and the comments on youtube, we have many, MANY ladies volunteering to take Teresa's place on the wedding night. I easily visualize a screaming horde of ladies chasing them on their honeymoon. LOL!

Audrey

FWIW - I think the the name of that cake was "Luz Resplandeciente" - which Aurora noted was the meaning of her name. Aurora = dawn light/goddess of dawn. Although Luz Resplandeciente means dazzling light.

Whatever - LOL!

Audrey

Martin created the cake just for her and if she likes it, he will feature it as a dessert in his restaurants. So sweet! But all I kept thinking when he started feeding her the cake was that Teresa is right. If Aurora keeps dating Martin, she's going to get fat. LOL!

Oh - now I see the screen caption had the cake's name!

Now - they should have brought sparklers out on that cake. I once got such a thing served to me in New Orleans. Now that was indeed dazzling!

Audrey

Elvira, wonderful recap with a delightful Harlequin style. Ole Arturo’s “breeches” looked pretty good on him, didn’t they! I guess Arturo will soon be “Ashes in the Wind” to Teresa. I loved you screen caps too, so appropriate.

Audrey, yes on your definition of “"Luz Resplandeciente.” I hadn’t thought about the meaning of Aurora’s name, but of course, Aurora Borealis came to mind as they were referencing the light. Pastry looked good too!

I think that Teresa managed to get through her “horrible” wedding night by pretending that Arturo was Mariano. It was just the way the music surged and then her sudden resolve.

Aida really showed her intent and inner blackness last night. She was mortified that her father had had an affair with a rat from the vecindad. I guess she’ll jump for joy when she realizes that Ruben has been carrying on with Geno, someone of her alta station in life. Now she’ll make the ultimate sacrifice, go back into the vecindad and tolerate Mariano to avenge the death of Paulo. Poor girl!

Vivi, you’re right about Refugio and Espe, Refugio has been kind all along to Espe, that is a big plus in her evaluation column. Doesn’t Espe have a fairly good job at the hospital, can she not transfer to anther DF facility and support herself? Now Johnny is in hock with the drug dealer for trying to help her.

Emarie, I totally agree with everything you said about the captions, and because of this one program, we have to watch captions on all the other English programs on my novela TV, a PAIN. It is much too hard to turn them on and off.

Speaking of shine and light, at "the" wedding, I thought Arturo's jacket was a little shiny. I then noticed that on Idol the suit that Marc Anthony wore for his number was VERY shiny. Ryan Seacrest said to him sarcastically I think, "great suit, Marc! " Funny moment for me!

Elvira, thanks for the fun Harlequin recap and the photos.

Above all Teresa's brainpower, scheming, and calculating to get to this "good life," it comes down to the fact that she is a one-man woman and can't get into Arturo no matter how yummy he is. When she said, "at last, you left" as he walked away on the beach, I couldn't help but laugh.

I'm a Refugio fan despite her well-earned Refusio nickname. It was nice to see her balancing act of offering heartfelt support to Esperanz while at the same time not undercutting Armando's decision. Refugio has a sixth sense about her daughter, as mother's often do. I've never been able to get much past my own mom. I'm wondering if Refugio will pick up on the fact that Teresa's not into intimacy with Professor Hottie.

Here's a video camparison of the casts of the various Teresas. I can see why in past versions she wouldn't be that into the "Arturo" character: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2ftWEGl-_k

In general, I think this cast is the hottest, although the original Teresa is quite beautiful. I think more so than the others.

Masterful recap, Elvira, and the photos and their hilarious captions were the icing on the Luz Resplandeciente cake. Very well done.

Well, this is going to be one quick honeymoon. I hope Arturo got maximum enjoyment out of that one night after breaking his, what, 14-year dry spell? Because it looks like his wedded bliss is over.

Why is Johnny being such an idiot? Esperanza has a job, he has a job, they have income, Juana and Cutberto don't seem to mind having them stay as long as they need to. Does he just go out of his way to get into trouble? There's no good reason he needs to deal with Loan Shark Lady or Fito.

-Julia

Elvira, wonderful recap, the pictures were perfect. You covered all the activity with just the right amount of time spent. An expert recap. Tere, ITA, how childish for her to keep writing M and T in a heart-I guess just for us viewers so we won’t forget she really loves Mar.
Urban: I have also been wondering if Tere thinks she is going to be some kind of serial gold digger and then get Mariano in the end.
Vivi and Niecie: ITA about Refugio, although she is a bit dour, is really uncompromisingly for truth-but is as stubborn as Tere. And I loved that she was really wanting to sort of adopt Espe and care for her. On the other hand, Armando is loyal to Tere only.
Jardinera: ROTFL about your comments about Art. He is no perro. He isn’t old. In this country he’d be the top lifeguard in a new version of “Baywatch” with a few more blond streaks in his hair. And ITA about Aida. That 20 minute harangue she carried on to Mariano-I just want to thump his head and say, “Hellllowww?? Anyone in there???!!” He has to know this is how she is, and this is the kind of thing she will do every time she is upset, i.e., like they didn’t deliver her marble and chrome dining room table in time, she didn’t get elected as president of her women’s club, and, “you didn’t pick up the right wine you idiot.”
Am I the only one who thinks Martin seems a bit too possessive this early in their relationship? He seems more proprietary than enamored.
Julia: ITA about Johnny, and sick of that story line.

Emarie- I wasn't bugged by Martin's reaction to seeing Aurora hug Mariano. He didn't wig out and start throwing blows like Art and Mariano have each time they saw Teresa even look at the other man. His reaction was to have a truthful (gasps) and direct (gasp) conversation with Aurora about it. He got her to admit what he already sensed- that she is in love with Mariano. But as she clearly said there was no hope for her and Mariano (because of his love for Teresa), I think Martin's right to stay in the fight. Frankly, from an outsider's point of view, he has more of a chance of getting Mariano out of Aurora's system, than Aurora has of getting Teresa out of Mariano's system.

Great recap and screencap Elvira. I LOLed at how quickly Artur went to sleep after consumating the marriage much to Teresa's relief I'm sure. How many of us would trade places with her and she acts like a spoiled child.

Diann did you see that Scarlett moment when Teresa thought bubbled that all that was missing was Mariano LOL. The writing of "M y T" in the sand took the cake. While Arturo was swimming nearby no less. Arturo deserves so much better and now that the European leg of their two month honeymoon (two months with hottie professor yummy) is canceled, Teresa is about to show her ugly side to Arturo like she did at Mariano's graduation party.

Big mouth Cutberto has now told Mayra where to find Esp. That should be interesting.

Marvelous recap Elvira!!! I love the photos, they are great.
I sort of agree about Martin being a little too clingy already. Sure, he seems to be alright to talk about it with her and give her the options to leave...yet, he keeps saying that he is okay being the one who likes her more. Who knows. Hopefully that doesnt turn out badly, on him anyway. I want her with Mariano when he is ready and Martin can be there for Luisa, who probably would appreciate the clingyness. Aur is going to get fat, that made me lol. It seemed so ridiculous when Tere said it... but now, she may have a point!
Ay-ida is annoying as usual. But if he preps Mar for Aur, then I'm okay with it for now.
Stupid Johnny and stupid Fito.
I agree I was glad Refugio acted the way she did... for all the we rag on her, she has always been right about Teresa. She's just said it ad nauseum.
Poor Hottie prof. I hate to think how he is going to feel when he finds out about her. And dude, the way he felt when he looked back and she had basically already forgotten him... noone should feel like that on their honeymoon! Come on Tere. If you're such a one-man woman, then suck it up and go live in the vecindad with Mariano. In that respect, I will be interested to see how the Fern thing plays out, as I've said. Will she sleep with him without any problems? If she sleeps with him at all.

Thank you for the recap Elvira. The pictures were great too, especially the ones with Arturo showing off his bodie, hehehe. And yeah, poor Teresa, having to deal with a gorgeous man who loves her and adores her.

I felt bad for Espe needing to leave, I don't think the salary of a nurse is good enough to find a much better place. Unless they have belong to the social security institute or work for a private client who pays them better. Refugio was indeed nice to her, it was nice to see her react well for once. Some people have better empathy for those who aren't their kids and it must be harder to have empathy for Teresa anyway.

Vivi: Thank you for that link, Maricruz Olivier, the original Teresa, was indeed gorgeous and her eyes were so beautiful. The 2010 cast is great looking but I'll take Rafael Rojas over Aarón Díaz anyday as Mariano. He was one of the hottest galanes back in the 80's and early 90's. And I wouldn't kick Daniel Giménez Cacho off my bed either, he doesn't look that great in that pic but he wasn't that bad looking either and he had his head full of hair back then, plus he is a wonderful actor and talent is attractive.

Jarocha

Thanks for the great recap Elvira! And the pictures! Awesome.

My LOL moment came when Arturo, all amorous and passionate tells her she will now be "mi mujer". The look on her face! She had been so impressed with the room and how it had been decorated then, bam!, oh yeah, I guess you expect me to have sex with you. Bummer.

In all fairness, I can understand her hesitation. After all, she may be a tiburoncita but she's definitely not a mujerzuela! She's only slept with Mariano so the reality of actually sleeping with another man would seem awkward to her. However, I think I could've made an exception in Arturo's case. sigh.

Vivi, that was very informative. The past "Arturo"s were certainly not up to the level of Sebastian Rulli and while the version with Salma Hayek was probably excellent, Angelique Boyer's more angelic look probably makes her even more lethal.

I looked at some of the other similar videos and they are interesting.

I think an important plot piece was missed here.
When Teresa was writing in the sand, her M y T in heart. After writing it a few times, she wrote it where the water could wash it away. In TN land, a la La Fea Mas Bella, that indicates she is "washing away" that person. Lety did this with Fernando's name in the sand. She wrote it a few times, then down by the water where the tide washed it away. Lety was in Acapulco to forget Fernando.
So I believe at that point, Teresa resolved herself to forget about Mariano. She indicated to Arturo, give my a second, she wrote the M y T and watched it and helped it wash away. Then she happily ran into the ocean to Art.
She was then trying to be happy walking with Art by the pool and talking about Europe. But da da dum, Europe got cancelled. So now how is she going to try to move on?

Just a thought.......for me it isn’t so much the right or wrong of Refugio, it is her lack of finesse in handling situations. Teresa’s character has been written and is being portrayed as an over the top, narcissistic, vengeful liar. If the writers had taken it down a notch and had written her as a more normal woman who had to fight the lack of money and opportunities in the ‘hood or vecindad, I would put much of the blame for her inappropriate actions on her mother for her total lack of understanding and support. Teresa has had to fight from day one for what she wants. Refugio thinks it is against God and religion to try and better yourself and leave the neighborhood. Teresa’s biggest fights started at home and it might have moulded her personality negatively. Most living creatures strike out when cornered. Realistically, I don’t think her mother made her into the liar and manipulator that she is being portrayed in this program though, our Teresa has DNA issues!

Good points Diann! I had thought myself how unusual it is for someone to have their honeymoon interrupted for business. That would be hard for even a mature, unselfish young woman to take.

Great recap and it was so funny to!

Poor poor Teresa having to share a lux hotel room with a hot man in paradise, who she gets to have "fun" with. But I had to laugh at her face and her curling up in a ball on the other side of the bed. And the fact that she was on the beach writing M y T in the sand was sad. I wanted Art to walk up and see it.

You ladies have voiced everything else I feel.

Here are the lyrics for ¿A dónde vamos a parar? from Marco Antonio Solís:

Ya ves, siempre acabamos así
solo haciéndonos sufrir
por no evitar discutir
por no evitar discutir.

¿Por qué, ya no podemos hablar
sin una guerra, empezar?
y la queremos ganar
y la queremos ganar.

¿A dónde vamos a parar?
con esta hiriente y absurda actitud
démosle paso a la humildad,
y vamos a la intimidad,
de nuestras almas en total plenitud.

¿A dónde vamos a parar?

¿A dónde vamos a parar?
Con esta hiriente y absurda actitud
démosle paso a la humildad
y vamos a la intimidad
de nuestras almas en total plenitud.

¿A dónde vamos a parar?
cayendo siempre en el mismo error
dándole siempre mas valor
a todo, menos al amor
que hoy no nos deja separar.

Thanks, Elvira, for the great recap and photos. Pobrecita Tiny Ter...so terrible that she has to endure Prof Hottie's devotion and loving. I can't stand it .

Thanks for that great video link, Vivi; and I agree with you that we've got the hottest cast.

I was kind of interested in how the Rubí cast would stack up, too. But maybe it's not analogous.

I keep going on how Teresa has such a ridiculous time getting into Arturo; but in fact, I do already know.

She's not that much into the physical aspects of any relationship, although she realizes her own looks are crucial.

She got where she is on brains and strategy, so I think she really has a more cerebral or emotional connection.

It wouldn't matter what Arturo looks like, because he is a figurehead of her manipulation, and she views him as a fool.

She doesn't respect him, except as far as necessary to keep the goods flowing. Teresa is very shrewd in her judgment of how to do that, though.

Her attachment to Mariano isn't much better, IMO. I haven't changed my opinion that he is her hole card, where she goes when her tank is empty.

She depends on him to keep loving her, which is why she can't see anyone else with him...

P.S. Sandy, we agree that Teresa got her pride from Refugio. ;-) Two large orders of pride.

Big mouth Cutberto has now told Mayra where to find Esp. That should be interesting.

-----------------------------

Especially when Maira finds Esperanza's baby booties.

Teresa is a silly child. Even if Teresa took all of Arturo's AND Fernando's money and Mariano took her back, she still wouldn't be satisfied because Mariano isn't the one who had the ambition to get all that money.

And Mariano's so proud, I don't think he'd want to live off of another man's money.

Teresa made her choice and she needs to suck it up. She could have had Mariano, and been the up-and-coming Dr's wife, and up and coming in her own right, but she chose to take the lazy, grifting way out. At least Arturo looks like Arturo instead of Grumps, Johnny or her dad.

Horrible day, and coming late unto recap. So nice to unwind from work and read all the great comments. It was some episode and your recap was fantastic Elvira. Especially love those pictures...they tell the story so perfectly.

The contrast between Arturo being so happy and Teresa being so wretched was perfection. Too late she sees that the money and luxury comes at a real price.

Unfortunately, I think there is something in her that still believes that somehow she play this smash and grab game with Art (and possiblty Fer) and that magically Mariano will be just waiting in the wings for her.

Way too Aida last night - she was at her excited screechy best and it started to get to me. That and the Bulls loss...not a good combo for the evening.

Elvira excellent recap of another exciting episode of Teresa.

Include me also as surprised that Refugio was very supportive of Espe and boy was i surprised that it was Armando who told her she had to leave.

Johnny what a dope and i think that loan will come back to bite him in the behind.

Teresa surely what did she expect on her honeymoon it's not like he's gross or overweight and disgusting looking. I feel by the time this ends maybe Teresa will come to appreciate what she has in Arturo.

Aida boy she just never stops with her Teresa obsession now does she?Glad she found out about Mariano knowing about her father's affair and with whom.

Jardinera you called it Mariano is just a glutton for toxic women. He goes from Teresa and now is trying to have a relationship with Aida? I'm thinking once he discovers how she is using him to get back at Teresa he'll tell her to hit the road and finally go after Aurora.

Loved the advice Hector the director was giving to Mariano and to his own daughter as well.

Elvira, great recap and screen shots.

Poor little Tere, she has made her bed and now has to sleep in it.

Poor Mariano, he is going from bad to worse with Aida.

Jeri: One of Televisa's channels Galavisión is showing a repeat of Rubí in the afternoons and now that I'm back home I've been watching it. Comparing Rubí and Teresa side by side has made obvious that the stories are very different. I think what made them confusing for many was the fact that the producer was the same so alot of the aesthetics are simmilar and Sebastián Rulli was in both (though I prefer his character and his hair in Teresa).

Jarocha

Hi, Jarocha. :-) I have Rubí recorded from the last time it ran, but I haven't had a chance to watch it.

I do remember the awards ceremony from that year, though, and the huge hit Rubí had been for Güero Castro.

And I can't help comparing the two female leads, Angelique and Bárbara Mori, who have eyes like cats, both of them.

(picture: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0391683/)

Of course, Rullí; everyone says he's better this time around in Teresa. And they say Rubí got what she wanted without working for it, unlike Teresa.

Well, I wouldn't say Rubí got what she wanted exactly. Do you know the ending?

I like Barbara Mori, I think she was wonderful as Rubí and I'm glad she is now doing her passion, which is movies. I do miss her in Telenovelas though, she only did Rubí in Televisa but I loved her in Azteca's "Azul Tequila" where she played the lead and our Esperanza, Fabiola Campomanes, had a fantastic and fierce role as well. It was a novela de época, based in Jalísco in the 1870's at the time of the worst "caciques" just before the begining of the Porfirio Díaz era.

Jarocha

Jarocha, I don't know the ending; not a spoiler fan.

IIRC, they were talking about in general, how Rubí went about seeking what she wanted in contrast to how Teresa does.

P.S. Azul has been available on DVD here -- quite a few episodes, not just one of those souvenir jobs.

I almost bought it; but I have a huge to-be-watched pile already.

I got to like Fabiola in "Tontas," which is the first time I ever saw her. But she's good!

Elvira, sorry for the late post but I just got a chance to watch this episode and read your hilarious recap. Nice job and the screen shots are an added bonus for sure.

Tere's honeymoon made me cringe. For him not for her. What a shame that Tere is too stupid to recognize Arturo's divine hotness. That said, I might be hard pressed to forget Mariano's epic abs too.

Vivi, thanks for the link to the fun comparison of Teresa casts over the years. I was amused to see the actress who played Quintina (I think that was her name) in FELS played the Refugio role in a past Teresa.

Elvira, thanks again for the great read.
